🖍 - When did you start drawing? Do you remember?

I started VERY young, the earliest I can remember is in first grade or maybe even kindergarten. Every single piece of paper my teachers handed me, they’d get back covered in doodles. I didn’t start seriously trying to improve my skills until just before the pandemic, though. I got hyperfixated on Gorillaz and seeing Jamie Hewlett’s art inspired me so much I just… dove back in headfirst, after taking a break from art for a few years before that.

☕️ - Do you do warmup sketches before drawing? (Bonus: do you have any to share?)

No, I usually don't, but I know it’ll help me a lot so I’ve been trying to get into the habit. Side note, but it turns out the concept of “warmup writing” applies too! I have a million notes in my phone of random chunks of dialogue and stuff, and I always find it much easier to work on my main WIP after doing those, even if the dialogue isn’t part of that story. Back to drawing though, here’s some of the few warmup drawings I've done (not calling them sketches bc a lot of the time I like to refine them more than is necessary lol):

You may have noticed a lack of construction lines. That's because I am insane and also self-taught, so I never really learned to use construction lines, which is another thing I'm trying to change. The most you'll see out of me right now is a line for where limbs should go and maybe a head circle.

🎼 - Your favorite music to draw to right now?

Lots of lofi these days. A personal favorite is Breathing Break by Sofasound from the League of Legends Sessions: Vi album, although I really like most of the songs from that album. I’ll change music to reflect the mood of what I’m drawing if I feel like it, but lately I’ve been gravitating towards calmer stuff regardless of what I’m drawing. Either that, or I'll pull up a video essay (or just a long video) on my laptop to listen to while I draw on Procreate. Favorites include A Brief History of Homestuck from Sarah Z and the youtube upload of RTGame's Bugsnax playthrough. I've rewatched both of those so many times lmao

I have a masterpost in the slow making, but the BOA, or Basal Ontological Anomaly is a foreign conceptual volume that is currently colliding with our universe in ideospace.

To avoid mutual annihilation, the two have ‘agreed’ to allow the BOA to surgically remove parts of our reality to support itself and, with the help of our universe, cover those holes with benevolent servants in hopes of prolonging the existence of the conscious beings through which the universe observes itself.

First three sketches were for nailing down his general vibe and color palette, and his humansona is for a modern AU me and my partner have been developing with our WoW OCs ^^

YES you do! ive gotten it quite a few times in my recent bouts in wow classic. a common place to get it is from the bears in silverpine forest. and the kolkar centaur in the barrens give you tetanus, as does knucklerot allegedly

Orla

She’s a human mage that went from no magic to being patroned by a very old deity to revive Vol’jin. She cannot return home unless she is successful. Apparently far from the first person her deity has done this to but the others are implied to have kinda…died. Is just trying to roll with the punches but the pressure is getting to her.

T’sangra

A grumpy old green troll and the captain of a horde trade ship. Once upon a time he was quite the ladies man. Took a sword to the face about a decade ago and the wound never quite healed right.

Eril

She’s 58 years old but hasn’t smiled in 50 thanks to a bargain on behalf of her parents to a demon. She currently studies fae magic and enchantments. Is not actually magic herself. Her neighbor is simply an nuisance. Her two adopted sons are her pride and joy and she has and will again murder to keep them safe.

Gohn

Eril’s first son. A troll that ran away from home as a child. She raised him on her small farm on the Eastern Kingdoms but he’s since gone back to Kalimdor with the intention of reconnection with his tribe and proving himself to them as a hunter. He’s a mama’s boy with a very soft spot for cows. Could easily be described as a mom friend.

Sad’iekke

Eril’s second adopted son. A zandalari boy and a priest of Rezan. He’s young, naive, curious, anxious, and has a considerable amount of family trauma to work through but he’s sweet as honey and ultimately just wants to be a really good healer. Too nice for his own good sometimes.

Basha

My Gurubashi troll. He’s an older dude and kind of an ass. He’s got a big voice, has a hot temper, yells a lot, and will start a fight just for fun. His wife poisoned him right before he left for Zandalar. He gets jumped by goblins and left for dead in a ditch. His pride takes the brunt of the damage.

Roma

Was a knight but sustained an injury in her leg and didn’t treat it properly. Now she can’t put weight on it and now uses magic to float around and travels in hopes that she can find a way to fix it. Can’t bear to cut it off. Is fatigued 110% of the time. Is named after the tomato, yes.

Nao

A dragon! Part of the emerald dragonflight. Their dragon form is very Aztec in design. They’re a partier with a deep love for drums and dancing.

Rasmundy

Is a wizard in a similar situation as Orla. Except he’s also a cowboy whose magic staff is just a gun that fires whatever he tells it to. Still looks, sounds, and requires reloading like a normal gun. He’s a real jovial dude who’s just trying to vibe. Mostly a joke character.

Jeanne & Mintawix

A Gnome and a Goblin respectively who are both very in love but very bad with their emotions so they just send each other hateful poems in the mail with bombs attached and call the other their Pen(emy) pal to cope.

CATHALA:

🍎: Do they share any features or traits with any family members?

Cathala takes a lot after her mom personality-wise. Neither of them is/was really all that crazy about this “people” thing. The instant either of them entered a conversation with anyone other than close friends or family, they would already be trying to leave it most of the time. They’re also both kinda stubborn and self-sure, but ultimately very caring at heart. As for her sister, Alarien had the same love of adventure. Cathala was always more willing to push the limits of “safe” however. Also, ultimately Alarien never would’ve gone to the extent of packing up and boarding a ship that was expected to spend at least a year or two at sea (RIP to that estimate). Lastly, even before Pandaria she had a love for cooking and food, which came from her dad. As for physical resemblances, I don’t have concrete designs for her family yet, but I mean… they do all look related hjsbcj

🌽: How does this OC feel about acts of affection? What's their favourite act of affection, physical or emotional?

Cathala’s super “>:(“ on the outside but inside she is just a big ol’ romantic, so when it comes to romantic affection she’s like “YES YES PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODS.” Well, at least in private, she’s not SUPER big on PDA but yeah. About whether she likes physical or emotional romantic affection more, eh, I guess both equally? They’re both very important to her, she needs lots of physical affection because girl same and emotional support/validation because jesus have you looked at the bullshit going on on Azeroth lately? She needs to feel understood and seen because she still deals with feelings of alienation from both night elves and pandaren. She's stuck in a weird middle and it's very isolating at times, especially with no living blood relatives ;_; When it comes to platonic affection, she’s not super physical and generally does not like it when people touch her, regardless of how well she knows them (she is a great hugger though I tell you hwhat). Emotionally she appreciates it when a friend will let her rant about her problems and reminisce on good times, and hope about the future (actually I guess that’s true for a romantic partner too). Despite how she may seem, she is an optimist (or tries to be), so having people to talk to about the good things the future might hold is validating of that.

(initially I misinterpreted the wording and understood “what’s their favorite act of affection, physical or emotional?” as “what’s their favorite act of affection: physical, or emotional?” so that’s why the beginning of my answer is like that. But I don’t wanna rewrite it because, again, exams have drained me OTL)

TARINNE:

🍑: What sort of traits does your OC look for in a Significant Other?

Brain too mushy about love so this one is bullet points instead of full sentences 👉👈

-Not afraid to do the crazy shit she gets up to -Not intimidated by her (or vice versa) -Is comfortable being a listener in conversations -Absolutely no interest in kids -Very physically affectionate and cuddly n shit, y’know :3 -Could beat her ass in a duel

🍾: Does your OC believe in luck? If so, do they have any charm or ritual they do before a stressful event?

I had to think about this one for a while, but I’d say no? She gambles on occasion and carries dice around, but doesn’t really have any sort of lucky charm or ritual. However, she is devout, much more than Cathala (though about average for night elves, y’know), so she does look for divine signs and stuff like that. I guess in our world the line between those two can be blurry (depending on who you ask), but in a setting like Warcraft, gods and spirits are just a fact of the universe so ehhhh? TL;DR lucky charms and rituals no, praying for guidance/assistance yes.

BOTH:

🍩: What's a crime your OC is most likely to commit? What's a crime they're most likely to get arrested for?

For Tarinne the first answer is absolutely theft. She's not like the stereotypical RPG klepto rogue but she is very much emptying the pockets of every dude she kills/finds already dead because "hey they're not using it anymore." Also stealing from places belonging to people she doesn’t like, e.g. Horde camps or something. She is still an archaeologist/historian though so she never removes anything from ruins if she has the choice. Her most likely arrest would be… well, murder. She's definitely broken into places to kill high-profile bounties and stuff, and sometimes those bounties have guards or are in a highly populated city 🤷‍♀️ On a related note she'd also be arrested for getting into a brawl with a royal guard because ACGAB and she has a History with humans in armor so she refuses to take shit from them 😌

Most likely crime for Cathala… probably trespassing/breaking and entering? If she wants to go somewhere she will find a way. Something as simple as a wall or barbed wire won't keep her in or out. For the same reasons as Tarinne, she would also be arrested for murder. Such is the way of being fantasy RPG characters jhsdbcjsjdhc But she would also be arrested for resisting arrest because she does not believe in surrender <3

Ah, no. Not really. Honestly I forget to do them most of the time. Or I get to into the sketch and try to clean it up. I need to get better about that lol. Here’s a few I have anyhow.

🖍 - When did you start drawing?

As soon as I could. I remember being in daycare and sitting next to my caretaker in rapt attention as she showed me how to draw a person that wasn’t a stick figure. Blew my little mind.

🌊 - What’s the hardest thing for you to draw?

I’m kind of going through a relearning right now, so honestly everything is hard again lol 🥲 but consistently? MALE. ANATOMY. Oh my god. A man’s chest? Fat tits on a man? Their ARMS??? Abdomen? Muscles on a man? Can’t do it. It’s like rocket science.
