* my personal hc is that Bickslows dolls feel a lot of what he himself feels, and also theyre kinda like birds

* so they too try to make it up to Gray, they bring him little things they find, such as shiny rocks, pins, and other tiny objects they find

* Bickslow just nods in approval from the sidelines when they bring them to Gray

* They were both fairly awkward with each other post festival but after Bickslow gave Gray an honest apology they began to turn over a new leaf

* people find the friendship strange tbh, Gray is known as this vaguely calm and like, super normal guy, and Bickslow is just— not

* theyre surprisingly comfortable with each other

* they dont hang out a lot outside the guild, but thats not to say they dont ever,

* While they dont work the best together and it took a while be able to fight along side on another,

* If the Thunder Legion and Team Natsu have to pair up usually they do bc they’re comfortable with each other and trust can go a long way

* theyre both texting fiends, like its a problem how much they message their friends, so when they found out the other was the same oh my god was it a train wreck

* their conversations can go for hours and if you read through them youd probably have an aneurysm because the topics make no sense and Bix doesn’t even try to spell correctly

* They have gotten close and friendly but that doesnt mean theu ever know what to expect from the other, their opinions and thoughts are so different from each other, if rhey ever have the same idea its like all the stars and planet’s have aligned and world is about to end

* Bickslows hair is naturally black and Gray helped him dye it once and they deadass looked they walk out the smurf set for weeks, Bix’s bathroom looked like they murdered a hundred of them

* Gray has an affinity for collecting hand weapons (swords, spears, bows, etc) while Bickslow likes taking apart and building old bombs (actual explosive grenades, land mines, smoke/flash grenades)

* they bonded over it and talked about it in public and terrified about 20 people rhat were in earshot

* theyre both a big hit with kids

* Bickslow gets added to the long list of people who barge into Gray house unannounced

* a lot of the time they will talk (coughcomplaincough) about two different things in the same convo

Relationship with Willow - Willow shares a mother-daughter relationship with her. Relationship with Handy Smurf - Handy is currently the only Smurf with a romantic interest in Pegasette. JANINE AND EGON'S WEDDING QUESTIONS (MOVIE, NOVELIZATION AND COMICS VERSE)

Imagine what music they'd have? What food? Would it be outside? What kind of theme, if any, would they have?

Jazz and jewish folk music. The ceremony would be outside in the garden, while the dinner reception, with Ashkenazi jewish food from Poland, Russia and Ukraine and the dancing party would be inside the house of their friend, Ray. The theme would be woodlands and mycology. 

Who would they invite? 

Ray (who is Egon's best man and provider of the house where the wedding is celebrated), Winston, Peter, Dana, Egon's mother, brother, sister-in-law and baby nephew, Janine's parents, sister, grandmother and maternal uncles and cousins. 

What season is it? Day or night? What colors do people wear?

Autumn, evening till night, starting at 15:00 pm. While the decoration is green and brown, the guests are left free to choose the colors of their clothes.

Is it traditional or do they do something wild?

The ceremony follows traditional jewish marriage rituals, along with including a justice of peace to assist the civil legalization and documentation of the wedding.

They do write their own vows, taking some inspiration from literature. Janine's family rabbi and a paid justice of peace marries her and Egon.

Who's To Say They Can't

Concerns and worrywarting continues to swirl after the not-so-great opening weekend of ELEMENTAL...

The talk of the town is largely "Pixar will become a sequel factory from here on out", but I'm also seeing such alarmist takes as "Pixar will be forced to make a live-action remake of one of their movies."

Meanwhile, a pal of mine and a critic who goes by Mr. Coat suggested...

Believe it or not, Pixar had considered at least one book adaptation at some point in their existence...

Remember the movie EPIC? The one about the shrunken human and all the bug warriors and such? That film, made at the sadly-defunct Blue Sky Studios, was based on the William Joyce book THE LEAF MEN AND THE BRAVE GOOD BUGS. Director Chris Wedge started the project at Fox, who was Blue Sky's home, and of course - Disney bought Fox AND Blue Sky. However, for a brief bit, Wedge was able to shop it over to Pixar... And Wedge was good friends with John Lasseter, so this book adaptation was actually going to go full-speed ahead there... Until Fox wanted it back, so the production moved back there and began around 2009, with the movie releasing in spring 2013.

Interestingly, Joyce himself was at Pixar during production of TOY STORY and A BUG'S LIFE. You can see a lot of his concept art for the former on all the film's home video release bonus features. Another one of his books, DINOSAUR BOB, was in consideration for a feature at one point, too... But someone else had the rights at the time. Several other Joyce stories became animated movies and shows, one of which was A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON, which became Disney Animation's MEET THE ROBINSONS, which Lasseter heavily oversaw and had retooled during production.

So it all shows that Pixar wasn't entirely against doing movies that were based on a pre-existing source material, and not their own material. LIGHTYEAR is interestingly in that it's a spin-off of their own movie series, inspired by a character by said series. Everything else is either a homespun original story or a sequel to one of those original stories...

Personally, I wouldn't mind if they finally - after making over 27 movies - tackled a book or a comic. Something dynamic that would be brought to the screen spectacularly through animation. And it'd be something a little familiar, too, if they had trouble trying to crack the next original idea nut. I don't see why that's a bad thing, either... The big, beloved new animated movie out right now is the umpteenth cinematic adaptation of a Marvel character. The animated movie based on those Italian plumbers fighting bad turtles became the 4th highest-grossing animated film of all-time, and most folks are super-duper-pumped for webcomic adaptation NIMONA. The beloved PUSS IN BOOTS Dos from last year is a fairy tale adaptation.

So... Why not? Every other big-time animation studio in the West has adapted pre-existing works. Disney Animation has a WHOLE history of that, right down to their first ever animated feature. DreamWorks? A good chunk of their beloved movies are book adaptations, SHREK included. They even took on something biblical. Sony Animation has done it all from comics (SPIDER-VERSE, SMURFS) to children's picture books (CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS) to - also - the Bible (THE STAR). Illumination has two Dr. Seuss movies and Super Mario in their library.

Honestly, I'd love to see a filmmaker at Pixar take a crack at a fantasy novel or a really weird and wacky comic, or a sci-fi novel. And if the thing does well, they already have the sequel work built for them, and it'd be a nice way to bypass sequels to their legacy favorites like TOY STORY and THE INCREDIBLES.

HECK! Any of you remember when Pixar was supposed to join forces with Walt Disney Pictures (live-action division) and Warner Bros. to make a Brad Bird-directed adaptation of the novel 1906? Or when FINDING NEMO/WALL-E director Andrew Stanton's live-action/CG JOHN CARTER OF MARS project was initially thought to be the studio's foray into live-action? JOHN CARTER OF MARS (I often refuse to call it by the title Disney ended up giving it) had plenty of animation in it, so if Pixar were to ever do some live-action, they could do something like that.

And in Excellent Era’s training camp, he finally saw the God of Glory Ye Qiu in the flesh, but he was different from how he had imagined him to be. This God of Glory Ye Qiu, who always “acted mysterious” and never revealed his identity to the media, was actually not as lofty as the outside world thought him to be. Everyday, with a cigarette hanging from his lips, he would swagger around the Excellent Era Club, chatting with just about anyone. This was the professional God of Glory standing at the peak of the Alliance, but even the floor cleaners of the Excellent Era Club could proudly say that they had once fought with Ye Qiu in a competition.

This definitely wasn’t a boast, a lot of people in the club had fought with this God of Glory before. Once, these people had allegedly gotten into a dispute with some other people in the game and could not beat them. In the end, they had dragged Ye Qiu over to help them fight, to which he had cheerfully agreed.

Qiu Fei really loved this sentence that the God of Glory had said. He always looked forward to the day he could feel the happiness over enjoying a competition. He worked hard tirelessly and persistently, hoping that this day would come a little earlier.

this entire part nearly made me cry - I guess it just really brought how much yx loves the game. even when he was standing at the highest point, he still remained humble and willing to play with the smallest of fries, still excitedly went back to the online game, not with his own god-tier account or another powerful account, but with the smallest, lousiest accounts - as long as he could enjoy the game. and no matter how much shit people eventually threw at him, no matter the gossip and slander that came his way, he still managed to stay true to his own principles and keep his cool, and to keep loving this game so much and so wholeheartedly

Back in the day I had a lover named juno who went red-green color blind at 20. And they learned this fact in the middle of a game of Uno when they put down a red card and insisted it was yellow. They were sad of course they couldn't play the game anymore so my wonderful, caring, beautiful (ect) ass decided to make them one. Busted out a sharpie and made symbols for each of the cards. Red was hearts, yellow was sun, green was leafs, and blue was smurf dicks. As one would naturally assume. Smacked a letter J on the front to make the package say JUNO. Best shit I've ever made.
