Hi BPP hope you are doing great. I’m a jikooker but there’s something that’s been bothering me a little bit and i would like to get ur opinion on it. So after Jimin posted that photo of himself and Jk, i saw some people making comments about Jk’s body language and how he kept his elbow out to keep a distance between him and Jimin. I’ve also seen other instances on original content when Jk’s body language with Jimin was kinda off or negative and the barely looked relaxed around him. When u see him with literally anyone else, he looks really relaxed and does not mind sitting really close to them but with Jimin it looks like sometimes Jk wants to intentionally keep a distance. Now I don’t even for one second believe the nonsense tkkrs and antis spew about Jk hating Jimin. Anybody with eyes can see how much Jk cares for and loves Jimin. So why do you think his body language is like that? And is this something you’ve noticed too? I would really like to hear what you think.

Hi Anon,

I'm going to make an example of your ask to show something I keep repeating from time to time, which is that the majority of the problems, 'discourse', and source of angst in k-pop spaces, is manufactured by k-pop stans themselves and has almost nothing to do with reality or the members.

One of the biggest tells that something is fan-manufactured BS, is if the narrative is riddled with contradictions, because cognitive dissonance can only take one so far.

For reference, to be sure the whole class is all on the same page, here's the picture Anon is referring to:

Anon, let's pick apart your ask a little bit.

Let's first talk about why you're listening to anybody trying to read body language from one still picture showing two Busan Bros and their backs.

The person most able and likely to fully read Jungkook's body language in this scenario, is Jimin. You know, the person who was beside Jungkook, actually with him in person, when the picture was taken. Not some random internet stranger sitting on their sofa looking at a still, pixelated image of jikook's backs.

Following that logic, if Jungkook was in any way uncomfortable with Jimin or wanted to get away from him in this instance, you'd have to first assume Jimin is inconsiderate, oblivious of Jungkook's feelings, or being something of a troll to JK, to then assume he'd go ahead and force JK to take this picture and then post it (assumed by some people to show JK was uncomfortable with Jimin in this case) on Jungkook's birthday.

Which is the end goal of that narrative. It takes an innocuous picture, and forces an end conclusion by first introducing a harmful assumption but one necessary to reach the end conclusion, in this case that assumption is of Jimin's character. So that's how a picture of Jungkook having his hands clasped in front him and likely holding something, which is obvious from the picture and which easily explains his posture, and shows JK actually leaning into Jimin - an obvious contradiction to the end-claim, then becomes fodder for the narrative of 'JK's body language around Jimin is "kinda off or negative and the barely looked relaxed around him."'

Like, that's a whole bunch of words pulled from the ether that have no bearing or relationship to the actual picture we're all looking at. All of those words came from the imagination of someone else who has nothing to do with jikook, and now I'm sitting here in my hotel room having to explain why it's bullshit.

Actually I didn't have to answer this, normally I'd delete it, but you started off your ask nicely and it's a good one to pick apart.

Because it shows the thing that really gets me about the kind of theories that drive discourse in BTS fan spaces. It's that every time, there's far more accessible and simpler explanations to explain what you're seeing, than anything you get from antis, shippers, rival shippers, akgaes, mantis - the usual suspects for this disease of a hyper-active imagination that for some reason always follows the plotline of a Fernando Gaitán telenovela. It's almost like the members are not treated as real people, but as fodder for drama and sensationalist conspiracy theories for that fan's entertainment, self-fulfillment and actualization.

It's what makes fandom such a self-sustaining system. It's that even when there are no problems or drama, you can count on some fan somewhere who will eagerly create them out of thin air, just to get a reaction from other fans who perhaps subconsciously have the primary motivations of the initial fan: treating the members first and foremost as a means to explore unresolved anxieties, insecurities, and boredom.

Now, this doesn't mean that Jungkook can never be uncomfortable around Jimin or want to keep his distance. We know it's possible because Jungkook is a person, and it's human to sometimes want your own space or to want to not always be in physical proximity with people around you, and that this can happen for a whole bunch of reasons. But what you sent me Anon, is an ask that's about a theory where the source of the theory itself (the picture), contradicts the end-claim of the theory, just to feed an underlying fan narrative that's often found in spaces that don't treat either Jimin or Jungkook as real people. The picture doesn't actually show Jungkook pulling away from Jimin. It shows Jungkook with his hands clasped in front of him, leaning into Jimin so Jimin's arm can get around his shoulder, Jimin standing with an upright posture, and both Jimin and Jungkook looking in the same direction.

The only thing possible to infer from this picture, is that jikook are jikooking.

It's possible this is a reality that makes some people so uncomfortable they'd look for any explanation to take away from that fact, including believing theories that are inherently self-contradictory, but there's no reason you need to play along with that BS. It wastes everybody's time and does nothing but dumb down the conversation in fan spaces.

Another day at KCCG, Korea Commission of Counter Ghoul, the second branch of CCG that originated from Japan. An everyday reminder when Jimin stepped into the KCCG building. The logos of CCG and KCCG were designated next to each other looking very alike except that KCCG has an additional letter ‘K’ before the CCG. The emblems were blueish black in colour and an animal akin to a bird spreading its wings was embedded at the centre of the emblem respectively, and a few deep curves and details to make it look elegant.

“Jimin hyung.” A voice called.

He turned to the voice. “Jungkook.” His soulmate.

“Why the hard face?”

“The only thing that is hard right now is my dick, so if you don’t have any plans to help soften it down, then I suggest you go back to your office before I fuck you right here.”

“Vulgar,” the younger hissed. “I’m your superior. How dare you speak to me that way.”

“An inferior in bed,” Jimin mumbled nonchalantly.

“I’ll give away your mission in 1st ward to Investigator Rosè,” Jungkook retorted.

“I needn’t worry because she’s not fit for the mission, and you need Joon’s approval for that. 1st ward has always been assigned to me.” He said calmly.

“Namjoon hyung gives me green light for everything, so–”

“Gyu.” Your voice interrupted their conversation. It wasn’t too loud but given that their sense of hearing was very acute, even your softest voice could reach their ears.

You entered the building and with delighted steps, you skipped your way towards Kim Mingyu, Ghoul Investigator of Special Class. Jimin’s gaze followed your figure until you reached the male investigator. Jungkook didn’t miss the hard gaze but instead of asking what was wrong with Jimin, he found himself staring hard at your figure too or the situation.

Since when were you close with Mingyu?

“Good morning, lotus.” Mingyu greeted you with a soft, subtle kiss on the crown of your head.

“Morning,” you smiled, handing over a coffee to him. “Where’s Minghao?”

“Late as usual,” he sighed before taking a sip of the coffee, thanking you after. “Overslept maybe.”

“It’s fine, we can wait.” Sipping a bit of your coffee, you fished out a small device from your pocket. The device was a sphere in shape and floating. You let it float in the air as pressed the button on the device.

“You got a new SfereX?” Mingyu asked.

“Yes. The old one was destroyed during the mission at the 2nd ward.” You sighed.

As soon as you pressed the button, a hologram flashed in front of you. The technology inside the device resembled a laptop or tablet but an even more compact version. As the system loaded you to your home page, you pressed the reminder calendar.

“Today we have a training session with Minghao…” You spread your fingers as the hologram zoomed onto the details of the session. “Focusing on hand-to-hand combat.”

Mingyu nodded. “He needs that very much.”

You slapped his shoulder lightly. “Give him a little credit. He’s not that bad. He’s just so used to the use of weapons.”

Mingyu was about to speak up but as his eyes narrowed a bit over your shoulder, he noticed two figures approaching.

Two figures that, if possible, he always wanted to avoid.

“Ah, good morning, Director Jeon, Investigator Park.”

That caught you off guard.

Upon hearing your childhood friend’s name, your body went rigid, and your mind flew back to when you discovered that half of your files in the star folder were gone after you returned from Investigator Min’s office. You don’t have proof that it was Jimin that deleted your files. Of course, you could walk into the security room and check the CCTVs, but you went against that idea because as much as you wanted to fight for your justice, you knew Jimin would do anything and everything to deny your claim.

Quickly turning around, you bowed. “Good morning.”

Jimin zeroed his attention on you as he spoke. “Training session with me and Investigator Jeon at combat room 2. In 5 minutes.”

“But I have–”

“Are you defying your superior, (Y/N)?”

Your eyes flickered at the sudden use of authority. “No, that’s not it…”

Mingyu saw the hesitation in your eyes as you struggled to find the right word. Maybe it was due to the difference in rank and the intimidation Jimin held because you were not one to hesitate. “Park, she has a scheduled training session with me.” He emphasised the word ‘scheduled’. “Please be considerate and respectful of others’ time.”

“Investigator Kim,” Jimin turned his body to fully face him. His face was devoid of emotions. “Before anything, (Y/N) is under me. Whatever changes made are effective immediately regardless of your opinion.”

“It doesn’t change the fact that you are disturbing my line of work by messing up my schedule, Investigator Park.” Mingyu refused to back away.

“That’s enough.” Jungkook finally voiced out.

He has been standing next to Jimin all while his gaze was on you. Breaking his intense gaze, he continued. “I instigated the training session. I believe you won’t have any problem with me doing so, right, Investigator Kim?”

A muscle in his jaw twitched. “If you’re trying to use your rank and force me to submission, I’d suggest you stop, Director Jeon.”

“Kim Mingyu.” You could see Jimin’s jaw tightened as soon as he let out the stern call.

You really didn’t want to ruin anyone else’s morning especially yours. “Gyu, it’s fine. We can reschedule.” You told him.

“It’s not fine. This doesn’t only affect me,” His eyes that were on the two guys in front of him were now on you. A wave of pity – or maybe concern – was seen. “But it also affects you.”

You knew what his next sentence would be.

“(Y/N), how–” How long are you going to tolerate being stepped on by these bunch of fucked up higher-ups?

And you didn’t have it in you to respond to that question yet.

“The training will take 2 hours at most. I’ll be available by noon and you’re free at that hour too.” You pinched the hologram after checking the reminder calendar and clicked the button to switch off the device.

“Moreover, your student has yet to arrive, no?” Jungkook directed his question to Mingyu. “Technically, I can take up (Y/N)’s schedule at this very moment because her scheduled training appears to be delayed. It gives literally anyone the right to take it up.”

Jungkook raised a hand to cover his lips albeit not fully, he let Mingyu see the condescending smirk through the gaps between his fingers. “Teach your student to respect other people’s time before teaching us. That’s very hypocrite of you.”

He didn’t wait for Mingyu to even breathe another word as he turned on his heels and made his way to the assigned combat room.

“Let’s go.” Jimin called on you.

Keeping your head low, you responded. “Yes, Investigator Park.”

You entered the combat room after having your clothes changed. It seemed like you blended in quite well with the room. Your combat attire was white overall as well as the room, both wall and floor. The combat room is empty but not fully empty as there were flower beds. White flowers. You have no idea why it was the way it was.

As you made your way to a bench, you unwrapped the bandage you had brought over from your locker in the changing room to wrap your hands. The clicking sounds of a door closing reached your ears. Jungkook stepped into the combat room. Spotting you on the bench, he smiled as he approached you.

“Quite a scene just now, don’t you think, (Y/N)?” He sat next to you, mirroring your action with a bandage of his own. “A bit too early to my taste, I’d say. But very refreshing.”

Of course, it’s refreshing for you.

You practically wrecked your brain trying to find the appropriate answer to give out in response. Giving up, you could only muster up a tight smile and continued bandaging your hands. You subtly glanced at his hands as he finished wrapping up his hand.

Well, that’s quick.

After glancing for a bit too long, you noticed his bandage matched his outfit. Black. You looked at your unfinished wrapping.

White.

Just as you were about to resume your wrapping, Jungkook’s hands came into the frame. He gently pulled your hand so that it was closer to him and easier for him to wrap up for you.

“Uh, I can…” You pulled your hand away slowly. “Do it myself.”

He seemed to frown upon your action as he pulled your hand back to him and resumed. “I know.”

Jungkook sure was efficient and quick in his action. He finished wrapping up your both hands in under one minute. All while holding your hand as if you would break if he put even the littlest pressure. You had the time to study his face.

There were significant features of his that remained the same or maybe matured a bit, but it didn’t stop you from going back to the old days you shared with Jungkook. Back then when you were first brought to the headquarter of the Jeon clan, you knew of no one. Not even the person that brought you there. At that time, Jungkook was the only child you saw. If only calling him a child was right. Given that he acted and behaved nothing like a child.

Face hard, back straight, and hands balled into fists on both his lap.

And quiet.

You had not heard his voice until your third week there.

“That brings back memory, huh?” Jungkook tilted his head as he stared at you. “Your eyes are showing a hint of nostalgia.”

The closed proximity and intense staring.

The mysterious coffee eyes. His eyes were still as dark and deep as you first saw. Unlike you, Jungkook's eyes were unreadable. As if his eyes were disconnected from the brain and lived on their own.

He was defective.

But you learned to understand Jungkook by studying his body language instead. That, too, wasn’t as easy. Jungkook mastered the art of concealment. He hated being vulnerable.

Or he forced himself to hate vulnerability.

The Kishou and Jeon have something in common.

Their ruthlessness was known to the world.

Growing up as a Jeon meant survival. Only the best made it until the end. Jungkook was a direct descendant of the Jeon clan and the future that soon would lead and continue the Jeon clan. He was trained to be the best. As for an indirect descendant like you, your training was much more lenient given the fact that you were a Kishou.

Jungkook was trained mentally, spiritually, and physically. Trained to be zero.

Zero weakness.

But after the death of the Jeon clan's former leader, you could see Jungkook finally breathed.

You turned away to break eye contact. “Yeah…”

He hummed before he brought one of your hands to his lips, kissing your bandaged knuckles. “It’s not a good thing, sweetheart.”

You stared at him in shock.

“You’re a Jeon.” All said with a smile and gentle thumb brushing.

I’m a Kishou.

Kishou.

Another sound of the door clicking open resonated around the room, making you immediately pull back your hand. Jimin walked into the room with graceful steps. He was wearing the same combat attire as Jungkook. Black. Your hands were itching to grab your SfereX and snap a picture of Jimin really quick.

Jimin was ethereal. You would never be tired of telling that to yourself.

In terms of physique, Jimin’s build is lean with enough muscle in the right place. The difference in body proportion between Jimin and Jungkook was visibly huge, but their strength was at the same level. Maybe even a level greater than Jungkook.

“We’ll do hand-to-hand combat today.” Jimin announced.

“Sounds fun to me.” Jungkook grinned.

“Let’s start with one on one before the other joins in for 2 against 1, shall we?” Jimin suggested.

You agreed pliantly with a soft yes.

Even if you had disagreed as if Jimin would listen to you.

“One on one with me, (Y/N),” he declared as he strode to the centre of the room. “Are you ready?”

The only word you’ve said for the past few minutes. Yes.

Still having the gentleman in him, Jimin urged you to do the first take before he pitched in. The two of you got into position with hands up into fists just above chin height and feet opened shoulder width apart.

Jungkook’s remark heralded the start of the fight. “Start.”

You didn’t start with your fist instead your knee found its way to kick Jimin’s face. But of course, it took more than a simple movement to injure The Park Jimin. He easily dodged your attack. In return, Jimin charged with his fist, targeting your face which you managed to avoid.

The attack and defence continued until Jungkook announced his presence in the fight. You were against two of your superiors. Two of them hated losing. You didn’t dare to make any first move as soon as Jungkook joined in, so instead, you waited for them to charge any attack.

Jungkook seemed to see right through you as he advanced first. He fired a punch but instead of dodging it, you blocked it. His firing was too quick that you didn’t have the time to avoid it.

But it was a grave mistake.

Jungkook smirked before he continued firing punches to your defence. It was only a matter of time before one of his punches would reach your face. He cornered you to the wall at each punch. You took the opportunity to use the wall to send Jungkook flying back with your feet pushing on his chest and your back on the wall as support.

You didn’t realise how small your intake of oxygen was until you found yourself gasping for air after throwing Jungkook off. It happened all too fast, but you were sent flying to the other corner of the room.

“Don’t let your guard down, (Y/N).” Jimin reprimanded.

You were quick to get back on your two feet. “I wasn’t–”

Had you not focused on your left, you would’ve been crushed. You made a beeline towards another safe spot before Jungkook practically crushed the wall.

His form of payback was crazy.

“Yes, she wasn’t, Jimin,” he pushed back his hair, showcasing his defined jawline. “Or else she would’ve been crushed like this wall.”

You believed in your hand-to-hand combat skills.

But you don’t believe them in hand-to-hand combats.

Jimin’s grip on your hair was unforgiving. As if his life depended on the tightness of the tug. Your eyes were filled with tears from the burn on your scalp. He trapped your body as he sat on your back, one hand tugging on your hair and the other resting on his crouched knee.

“Weak as ever (Y/N).”

You grunted in response.

“That’s why you’re always under me and forever will.” Jimin enunciated each word clearly, drilling them into your brain. “So, remember your priorities: me before anyone and anything.”

“That is enough, Jimin.” Jungkook stood in front of you with hands in his pocket, looking down at you. The stinging pain on your scalp affected your ability to open both eyes fully, only one of your eyes was opened as you tried to look the superior in front of you.

“You’re getting way too soft on her, Kook,” Jimin pouted. “That’s why she fails as a Jeon.”

“I’m a Kishou.” You hissed.

A new bruising and unforgiving pain started on your scalp and the cause was Jungkook. His movement was so fast that you didn’t get to comprehend the moment he crouched down and replace Jimin’s hand with his own.

“Kishou clan ended long time ago, sweetheart. Stop being delusional and be grateful the Jeon clan even took you in. You’re a Jeon, so live up to it. Do not sully the good name.”

He let go of your hair and stood to his full height. Jimin’s hand found its way around your burning scalp yet again but instead of inflicting more pain, he surprisingly massaged your scalp and even stroked your hair.

The door flew open, gracing the room with the presence of another two Special Class investigators and another one Associate: Min Yoongi, Kim Mingyu, and Kim Seokjin.

Your eyes were quick to fall on your partner’s figure.

“Gyu,” you whispered softly with utmost gratefulness.

But your gratefulness was short-lived as the bruising grip on your hair returned and stronger. Jimin pushed your face to meet with the floor.

“Jimin!” It was Jin’s voice.

“Shh, Jin hyung,” this time it was Yoongi’s voice. “They are in their training session. We mustn’t disturb them.” You can hear the smirk in his voice, honestly.

“The training session ended 2 minutes ago. Release her, Park.” Mingyu said.

You were sure Jimin was trying to plant your face into the ground. Might as well your whole body. The pressure he put was enough to make you imagine so. Whimpers fell from your mouth involuntarily as you felt the pain was too overbearing that it had already exceeded your limit.

Jimin let go of your hair harshly and the weight on your back disappeared. You stayed in your position for a few seconds and only raised your head when you heard another clicking sound of a door which indicated that Jimin has left the combat room.

Jungkook was still standing in front of you. When you tried to stand up, he quickly got to your level and tried to offer a hand.

Keyword: tried.

“Ah, Jungkook.” Yoongi tutted. “You can go freshen up. Mingyu will take care of her.”

Before Yoongi even finished his sentences, your attention was stolen when you heard footsteps approaching you. The next thing you knew, Mingyu was already next to you, helping you to get off the ground.

“I believe it’s appropriate for me to assist my student until the end.” Jungkook said.

He glared at the hands that were touching you, and with a deep and dangerous voice, he enjoined. “Get your hands off her, Kim.”

But Mingyu was unfazed.

“It is, Director Jeon,” Yoongi agreed. “But Director Kim urgently asked for your presence. 2nd ward has been attacked by a group of unknown ghouls. You might want to resolve that quickly.”

The Investigator of Special Class strode towards the changing room with Jin hot on his trail.

“Rather than to waste your time on…” Yoongi moved his cold gaze to you. “Her.”

Ouch.

Jungkook stayed on his spot for a good few seconds before he abruptly stood up and headed towards the changing room with big steps. Yoongi has a victorious smirk on his face as he casually followed Jungkook into the changing room, followed by Jin who sent you a look of pity.

You wished for the day to end already.

Before you have the chance to even be sucked into your hole of darkness and self-loathing, a hand reached out to stroke your head. It was Mingyu. He helped you to get into the correct posture and placed you in his arms. You didn’t put up any fights to protect your pride – not like there was any left. It was trampled on by your two superiors – and rested your head on his chest.

Before the darkness consumed you wholly, you heard a familiar voice calling for you.

It wasn’t Mingyu’s.

“(Y/N)!”

It was Minghao’s.

And then all your sense shut off.

A Picture Worth 1000 Words

I swear the more I look at this pic, the gayer it gets. Don’t get me wrong, my jaw dropped like everyone else’s when this masterpiece graced the TL on JKs bday, but the dopamine hit wore off fast without it ever really sinking in.

Fun fact, this is my discord icon photo 🤭 and I’m part of a music discord and am a pretty diligent chatter. Makes me giggle that they see this photo whenever they are talking to me. I would love to know if they see the 🏳️‍🌈 too.

Because y’all… what even was the reason. How do you ask someone to snap a photo like this? 💀 or do you set a timer and just pose and then quick tell your bf that he has to take his shirt off before the timer goes off. I really have 0 photography skills so I wouldn’t know.

And why did they have their shirts off? Is that just a Jikook thing for the vibes? Did they go swimming even though Jimin looks like he’s wearing an expensive watch? I know my watch can technically get wet but still. I don’t think I would submerge it in a body of water on purpose. If they weren’t swimming or water skiing then what was the reason for the shirts off and why did it have to be photographed?? Why did Jimin have to put his arm around his “bro” like that? Is JM on his tip toes?!?! He looks taller than JK and if JK was leaning down a bit they would be the same height not Jimin being taller!!! I was in college for years that’s never been a trend among “bros” to pose like this. And yeah skinship and all that but like??? The intimacy of JK leaning in towards JM too… The fact that his elbow is pressed into Jimin’s torso touching bare skin. 😱 Call me crazy but this photo gets even more sus every time I look at it.

I sound ungrateful. I am extremely happy that this photo exists and that it’s in black and white and that has a permanent residency on Jimin’s Instagram. But as a scientist and a curious cat human, I have so many questions. 🤣 Jikook, if you ever want to spill the tea, I’m all ears 😜

Things you learn in this fandom

You know what? These past days taught me that, some Army aren’t really homophobic and those who are actually allies don’t really dislike “assuming” that JK or Jimin are in a relationship with a man.

Because they had no problem giggling at that fake dating rumor between JK and Felix, they also had no problem shipping JK with Mingyu from a less than 2 mins live, no problem shipping Jimin with Taemin after a dance challenge was posted.

The problem here is specifically associating JK with Jimin, i’m saying specifically because they also have no problem calling JK or Jimin with another member a “couple”.

So now touching, eye contact and dancing together is considered romantic, a sign and hint of undying love HM.

Again, as i said above, if one doesn’t want to “assume” there’s something more going on between these two, FINE it’s not like they’re making it obvious or anything you know, just two bros biting and sucking on each other’s skin, no homo tho.

But in all seriousness, you really don’t have to support them in that way if you don’t see them that way, you also don’t have to go out of your way to belittle their bond just because you don’t want to look like a “shipper” or don’t want to rile up the “jokers”. One can still appreciate a bond without necessarily seeing the romance in it and still be detached from a particular group of people they don’t really like to associate with, although they have no problem associating with a whole ass cult just saying.

All in all, you’re not really being that “very good person” you oh so want to make yourself be by “not assuming someone’s sexuality or their relationship to someone else” you just really feel uncomfortable acknowledging that Jimin and JK are in fact very close towards each other, you just really don’t like their closeness that you would rather jump off of a cliff falling after baseless rumors of them dating different people than admit that they “might” actually be dating each other.

The funny thing about Jungkook’s live and all the other lives he’s had recently is that—

It’s all so Seven MV-coded 😂

Listen, I’m not here to assume that the Seven MV took some inspiration from Jikook’s relationship, especially for one, Jungkook didn’t even write the song. For sure, he’s had more input in the MV making but I still don’t want to liken it to Jikook in any way because Seven Jungkook is just one big simp and Seven Sohee is very stubborn and dismissive right until the last bit.

It’s comical and funny if we don’t deep it! But I don’t want to feed into the toxic Jungkook simp agenda that runs around shipping circles. It just sucks that he’s always the ultimate simp, regardless of who he’s shipped with, and the simping is often imbalanced.

Now that that’s out of the way, I really just wanna let out a laugh at how Jungkook’s live birthed a new genre of Jikook tweets in relation to this.

We know what this is reminiscent of (cue in: Weight of the world on your shoulders—), but I can’t even perceive these takes negatively because these are actually based on True Events SO maaaaybe we can limit the Jungkook simp culture to…getting Jimin to do a live? 😭

Okay, great!

Now, Jimin isn’t exactly Seven Sohee. He’s just…a different kind of evil. Libra evil? Because why the heck would you respond to your little bro (asking fans if they can handle him coming out from under the blanket) by commenting, “In my case, I can handle it.”????

It doesn’t help at all that Jungkook visibly melts and downright agrees.

What the heck.

And then, like clockwork, Jungkook starts convincing Jimin to come and do a live. And the King of Babygirlism has the audacity to respond with “Seems like you’re gonna hit me!” How in the world am I to read that it a non-flirty tone?

Jungkook’s convincing persists and it’s not a one time thing. When translations were coming in, I really thought he only says it once, but no. He repeats it multiple times throughout the entire live. Seven MV levels of persistence.

Somewhere along the way, Jungkook even leverages on ARMYs, which is really smart and sneaky. Use ARMYs as bait to lure the ARMY-pleaser. You know how public proposals bring about this social pressure to say yes to the proposer? Yeah, Jungkook’s the only public proposer I’d forgive, probably.

Can you imagine him doing this to his other hyungs? I truly can’t, not in a million years.

And then, amidst the giggly persuading, Jimin in Seven Sohee-coded fashion says, “I’m not that easy.” which, of COURSE, gets deleted by God (because we’ll never truly know who deleted it, right?)

How am I supposed to take this, really?

Somewhere along the way, there’s also a mention of a picture being sent. And honestly, it’s not the selca sending that gets to me—I already think that they’re a couple so naturally, for me, they’d have hundreds of bed selcas of each other. It’s the fact that Jimin commented it on a live. That, and the 2 o’clock thing, which has multiple translations but implies something fruity either way.

And it’s all capped off with Jungkook ~coincidentally~ flexing his arm right after he says goodbye to Jimin. I genuinely found it so endearingly funny because it was just sooo random. What are you doing, you little peacock? 😭

And while that might be enough to convince Jimin to come, it’s definitely not enough for a live. That one’s gonna take a lot more prodding.

Because we know Jimin’s the kind to want to feel in control of the situation, especially in a live, real-time setup. Going live at Hybe instead of at home, doing scheduled lives instead of spontaneous. A new live with Jungkook—after having THAT jikook birthday live, that vminhopekook live in October and the recent idgaf lives that Jungkook has done—is not the kind that Jimin can control and he knows that.

So Jungkook might just have to do something more elaborate than a fake funeral to get Jimin to say yes, because Jimin is not that easy!

I love that they’re both from Busan have ridden the same bus and have never met bc it was like they were pulled to eo. I love how they always lean on eo for support help and comfort. I love how even tho jk is quite aggressive with other members he’s always so soft with jm. I love how they find all the same things funny and how their laughs are one. I love how jms hand fits perfectly into jks and how what they like correlates perfectly with the other. I love that their families are so close and treat them as their own, I love that jm loved jk sm he rivalled jks real brother. I’m gonna be real with y’all, most of the time these days I don’t think Jikook are dating per se But they are… they are… they’re… what are they? What’s their problem? What’s their DEAL like one min you’re just cute bros and then I remember jungkook sucked on jimin’s EAR

Said a long time army-jkkr on Twitter. You may know her - Jennie, a lesbian in a long term relationship, who once was a hard-core jikooker. But for past two years, she thinks they are not dating but are two cute bros. There are only 1-2 incidents which make her rethink her 'Jikook are bros' final decision. Just like majority of jkkrs, it's either ear sucking or hickey, which one day if JK himself comes and say it didn't meant a shit or does same thing with someone else gets immediately debunked. But does 2 incidents matter when rest everything they does, if we look around us or even among bts are all common dynamics between two men who are super close ? If even long term Jikookers don't think they are dating then why would we have to believe they are a couple 🤔 Because majority here are super convinced they are a couple when in reality it's 90% chance that they are not.

I've seen so many ARMYs mad and confused about JK talking non stop about Jimin during his lives. Jimin on the other hand never mentions JK (I mean recently). I really do not care even if they're married and have kids. But do you think it is safe for JK to draw so much attention to their possible relationship? I'm probably just paranoid, because SK is such a narrow minded country and what if something happens to them?

…kinda? I mean, for a lot of people, there’s a lot of daylight between talking a lot about your bandmate, gushing incessantly about a guy you’ve publicly called a dear friend for 10 years, and definitively coming out as being in a relationship with him. The reason I feel jikook are a thing is because of that quirk of that relationship plus a history of brow-raising behaviours that is most consistent with them relative to any other pairing.

But looking at it in isolation? Nah.

Some people might be confused because they feel JK’s behaviour with Jimin is unexpected, but most ARMYs I’ve seen already feel that jikook are very close (after hickeygate even the people most in denial about how close jikook are, had to rethink), and so they are more than happy to file away ‘JK fixating on Jimin during his lives recently’, into the ‘sus bro’ things jikook do without digging more into it, for whatever reason. JK can keep doing what he’s doing because most people in the fandom have determined that an official announcement or coming out is the threshold for allowing themselves to think of the members as being in relationships. Queer and not. It’s a bit silly, but I suppose in an effort to be respectful, people try to err on the side of caution by viewing all their actions through a kiddy, harmless, fraternal lens until explicitly told otherwise.

So yeah, I’d say you’re being kinda paranoid.

Then again, if you’re in a space where people are actually “mad” at Jungkook talking a lot about Jimin, then you’re probably in a space filled with solo stans / antis or rival shippers trying to mask, or homophobes looking for an outlet for that prejudice and anger. In which case, then I don’t think you’re being paranoid at all.

In fact, I’m nearly certain the second pattern you’ve noticed, of Jimin not mentioning JK to the same frequency (yet), only adds more salt to injury for them. Rival shippers and homophobes (especially closeted ones) are groups of people primed to see what we see, they just hate it. Lol. So JK going out of his way almost every Wlive to talk about Jimin or focus on him in some way, when the dominant narrative in rival shipping circles is that Jimin’s affection for JK is one-sided in the best case, or only fanservice in the worst - their narratives are being rubbished by the head joker himself. Effortlessly, spectacularly, and publicly rubbished to filth. Even the most delusional jikook anti has to feel a smidgen of embarrassment watching a JK live where he gushes about Jimin. It’s a shame these groups of people typically aren’t emotionally mature, because where a well-adjusted person would channel that embarrassment into rethinking their narratives, these groups of people seek only to lash out and punish the object of their obsession: Jimin.

And for the other Anon who asked me a few months ago about why taekookers/rival shippers and their solo stan peers are obsessed with Jimin, here’s your answer. Well, here’s one reason why:

They can tell Jimin is the obsession of the person they obsess over. They watch Jungkook too closely, too obsessively, to miss it. They can see how much Jungkook loves Jimin. And because they suffer from the illness of wanting a celebrity they obsess over to love them to the same degree, they hate the object receiving the love that in their minds is owed to them, or to someone they can easily self-insert as.

If you’re in a space filled with people like that I’m sorry to say but it’s a wasteland of lunacy. Get out. Flee. Pack up your skirts and run for the hills. Do it for your sanity, your hairline, and your internet service bills.

So yeah, there’s some risk people who are “mad” at JK, as you say, for talking about Jimin, could out them in a malicious detrimental way. You’re not paranoid about that. But I think that risk is small because people like this are ultimately cowards. Lol. They’re a bit insane yes but don’t have the guts to commit to doing any real damage outside of their tiny online spaces. So when you see people like that, I suggest you clean up the filth by reporting and blocking.

We’ll all be fine in the end. :)

Hey Shaz, i have a question. In the Life Goes On MV, when we see Jk and Jimin in the same room in the morning, is that room supposed to be JM and Hobi’s room in the dorm that Jk was always visiting?

Yep. Like this mofo has no shame. He took Jhope out of the picture all together. Like, JK, that's not even your room, bro!

I made a post here about how Jikook have been sleeping together from the beginning. Taekook were closer in early trainee days, yes. But as soon as Jimin joined, Jikook got attached at the hip and that’s all she wrote. This made V hella salty, too. JK told us he can’t concentrate on two things or many things at once. I’m inclined to believe this also applied to Vmin. Especially after Jikook became a thing. JK couldn’t juggle them both and at some point he stopped trying all together. So not only did V lose JK but now he also had to share Jimin with JK. JK who likes to hog Jimin. I showed a clip here of V getting hella annoyed by JK interrupting a Vmin moment. And like I said, V was/is salty about Jikook which is why he does this.

Anyway I digressed. Back to your ask. JK has been sleeping with Jimin for so long it was only natural that director JK put them in the same room. Even back when they made the BST parody JK was made an honorary member of that room

That wasn't his room. He had his own and wasn't sharing with anyone by that point 👆🏽 but he still always slept in Jihope's room.

Then, Jhope is nowhere to be seen during the MV 🤣🤣🤣

And JK tells us its because he was trying to depict reality.

So in short, the reality was that Jikook shared that room and Jhope wasn't in the picture. I'm guessing Jhope was sleeping in JK's empty room. I can believe that because one time (I have no receipts for this one sorry) they were talking about something and V turns to Jhope like "when we shared a room bla bla bla" its one of those moments where ot7 are just talking and they let something slip that makes you go ❓❓❓

Because the thing is, Jihope have always been roommates and Taekook were roommates at some point. But Vhope were never roommates. Not officially anyway. So when V said him and Jhope were roommates, it made Jikookers a bit confused because this means Jhope slept in Taekook's room so much that V considered him to be his roommate.

If Hopemin were the official roommates, and Taekook were the official roommates, then how did Vhope end up being roommates??

You do that math 🤭🤭

So yes anon, that was supposed to be the room JK was always visiting. Except he didn't just visit. He displaced Jhope.

Am i ranting again?

I probably am but whatevuh!

So by now y’all know i’m on tiktok a lot of time and naturally i get a lot of videos about our boys. Thing is, i come across some “ship” videos that include either Jimin or JK with another member and the comments be saying “It’s always these two” and i’m like No bitch, it’s not AlWaYs ThEsE tWo, y’all are just so fucking blind to the “other two” that’s what it is.

Cause i’ll be damned if being flirtatious is for some reason considered gay if it’s Jimin or JK with any other member but NOT when they’re flirting with each other.. I’m sorry Ma’am but imma need some explanation over here cause ?!!?!

And you know what’s silly? All these damn excuses that for some reason only pop up when it comes to Jikook. Y’all were adamant about the hickey or as y’all like to convince yourselves being just a “bite” (well technically speaking a hickey is called a love bite but they ain’t ready for that one) or a cover up for JK’s “girlfriend” but surprise surprise when Jimin wasn’t even brought up in the equation with Joon, hickeys suddenly became a Jimin thing.

So we over here always twisting the boys words to fit your unresolved hatred towards any possible deeper bond between Jimin and JK but my question is why is it THAT bad for them to be a thing? Cause i don’t see anyone combusting when they talk about these two being with any other member i mean.. Is the world ending if Jikook are a thing or..? What am i missing? You also won’t catch me thirst trapping my bro or just canoodling in a dark corner in a party where people are supposed to be having fun with friends ya know. Now of course i ain’t crazy to be thinking that every interaction out there means something deep, there’s a whole thought process, a whole context, a whole understanding to do, a whole knowledge of the person, etc..

Something you have to ask yourself “Did A ever do to anyone else what they’ve just done to B?” If the answer is yes of course you can look further into it since as i said there’s also context in there and depending on that (of course we’re talking here about stuff that seem sus anything else is just that no need to dig further into it) but if the answer is no you’ve got your answer right there.

My point is, why are people too set on making everything BTS do gay until Jimin and JK do it together? I can understand that coming from the cult for very obvious reason despite it not making any sense but whatever, but why are other people completely loosing their shit over it too?

I will admit that I decided to reply to your ASK because I thought I was gonna be short and quick with it 🤡.

BUT, GOSH DARN IT, IT WASN’T AS SHORT, NOR AS QUICK, AS I THOUGHT BRO!

So I apologise for all the Anons I’ve been respectfully “neglecting” for the time being 🙏🏾. Thing is, some of y’all send me ASKS which would really take me daaaaaays to reply, cause I’m big on receipts, so I MUST do my thorough research on EVERYTHING. Hence, as you’ll see below, I obviously underestimated this ASK I was actually thinking it would take me a quick afternoon, but it took me muuuuuch longer, between IRL schedules and me continuously reminiscing adorable jikook details 🥹🥹🥹 but, by the time I realised what I got myself into, I had already started it … AND … it kinda came as such a cute subconscient surprise, during a rather shitty week, that I couldn't stop.

So … Why do I think Jikook Is the real deal? Mmmhmmm, let first start with a little correction to that question:

If you’ve been around long enough to watch a good amount of the boys original content, you might be probably familiar with the fact that the boys are all very affectionate with each other, in fact, they’ve all had “moments” and by moment I mean situations that are commonly shippable with each other, and if you’ve been around enough shipper spaces you would have read/heard that “x-member only does this with x-member”. Now, even though there are a few known things that JK & JM have done just for each other, that isn’t what I mainly base my speculations on.

What really makes me raise my eyebrow, JK-style, are the amount of times they’ve braved to test some boundaries, as well as the times they’ve allowed their impulses to momentarily take over, and, last but not least, the amount of concessions, understanding, and wake-up-calls that their members provide them with. All in all ⚠️IN MY OPINION LIKE EVERYTHING IN THIS POST⚠️ JK & JM have come really far, faltered quite a bit, dared a lot and have also matured as couple, just the right amount, given their circumstances.

Well, for example ...

It’s the way they publicly “argue”

The only time we’ve had a public display of an argument in bangtan was Jin and Tae for that stage disagreement, which they all sat down and discussed. Other than that, we know that the members have had many private arguments, some which they discussed as a group (HopeKook banana-fight … kinda … JK really didn’t give the members a chance, he told them and hobi reacted LOL) and some which they solved solely with the parties involved (VMIN dumpling incident). YET, JK & JM seem to have the need to solve many of their could-easily-become-an-argument-for-no-reason arguments in a very let’s-do-this-right-here-right-now way, and perhaps because they are aware that they are very passionate during their discussions, they do make a conscious effort to at least sound playful at the beginning 🤡…

In addition, if JM is the one to start the whole thing, JK will try his best and so far he’s never failed to keep calm while at the same time try to divert the attention to something else, but in this type of situations JM is a bull and JK is, metaphorically, the only one drenched in red, so eventually, the members do chime in, trying to help JK, because I can imagine that facing a whole JM, int that state, can be something 😬 JM takes petty, and give-me-what-I’m-asking for-right-now, to a whole new level. If it is JK to start it, he knows he will get an apology, at some point, but he also knows that it is the most he will get at least publicly, because once again, facing a whole JM can be something.

Afterall, Let’s not forget they both chose B, during the scenario in the image below, so in a way, their little bickering is just not avoidable … 🤡

It’s the way that for example, in the recent years, the 94s have been “taunting” them and the way VHope know more than they let on, and 2Seok play along ... basically Hobi is everywhere 🤡

By now we should be very familiar with the support that the Tannies in general have for the LGBTQIA+ community, and between 2022 and last year, the 94s were very on point with reminding us about that. From collaborating with Balming Tiger to posting the lesbian scene in Wheel of Fortune and Fantasy during pride month (Joonie) or from being a close friend to Jo Kwon to having his Listening Party’s afterparty at a gay bar (Hobi), the 94s have been present (The Gay Bar → Trunk Seoul).

The Tannies have inside jokes to no end. If you ask me, this is one of the few ways they have in order to keep a couple of things just for themselves. For example, a reference from a movie/drama they won’t specify but ARMY will find anyways, because we on top of business like that 😎 … so time too much so 🤡, laughing about a picture on a phone they won’t show us and perhaps… the playful taunting of a couple they can’t out?

But why do that? Won’t it out them?! … It hasn’t thus far has it? Because I do believe it is part of the things which, for now, they are keeping just for them, for obvious reasons but also because I think that in a way the 94s are trying to create normality in their environment, and the universe only knows how important it is to know that your close ones perceive you as you always were, regardless of coming out etc, particularly in a society that tries so fucking hard to make you think otherwise.

It’s the way we keep spotting random oh-I-didn’t-know details and the way in which we are made privy of non-requested good-for-you-bro! type of TMI

In the 1st screenshot (ss) JK wanted more pizza, but the boys finished literally within minutes I kinda wanna say second really, they inhaled it but this are the same people who gave away their album for some meat 🤡 and JM just let him have a bite of his, like it was it was expected of him to do so. During this same live, JM pointed out to JK that the champagne they were drinking is the only one he can drink or that he likes; and JK took note of that. How do I know?

In the 4th ss JK got champagne for everyone to cheer with, but didn’t prepare anything for JM. Eventually, Hobi would ask JM if he wanted a glass and Tae would try to make him drink from his glass, but JM would refuse on both occasions. This is the same live where we find out that JK’s mom prepared seaweed soup traditional soup made on a family member’s birthday in South Korea because it was JM’s birthday. So many details, so freaking useless to me as I will never be with either JK or JM in that capacity; but good to know I guess.

Also, JM is going to be your boxing partner? JK comes to your room very often? GOOD FOR YOU BROS. Like … When’s my turn?! That’s what I really want to know … 😑… 😩

… and so on and so forth.

I could go on further, but I really don’t have that type of time as of recently, but I hope you can see that what I am trying to say is that the proof is in the pudding, so to say. There isn’t a one ultimate defining moment, if there were, I would guess that only JM and JK would know what did it for them, what made JK think “Ah, yes, he is the one …” which i am 85.13% sure it is going to be a different moment in time for JM, in the same way they get irritated with each other for different reason eccetera eccetera eccetera.

Every day I get more certain that there is no real ship. The members and the company let this shipping thing going on all these years because it benefits them, both in terms of money and being free to date who they want. There are more things that prove Jkk, Tkk or any other ships isn't real than the things that have been interpreted, from us shippers, as being real.

I’m super late on this but when you sent this I started on it, and then was promptly very overwhelmed by a large number of asks and kind of shut down. I found it in my drafts so figured I’d finish and post it, if you still care! Lol. Totally understand if you don’t 🤣

I already know I’m going to ramble so let’s get this out of the way — that’s a perfectly fine conclusion to come to. If that’s how you feel, it’s how you feel. I don’t know the inner workings of KPop marketing, so I couldn’t say whether as a whole they tend to “promote” ships (i.e. fanservice and questionable photoshoot concepts/poses, even mv interactions — is that what you mean?) because it makes them money, or if they follow the fans to see what they’re squawking about online and then serve up content to kind of give the people what they want. In other words, I’m not sure which came first, the chicken or the egg. I think we’d need an industry professional in the KPop media landscape, someone who’s followed KPop a lot longer than me, or at least a blogger more observant and analytical than me to tease that out.

On Jikook specifically — I have a few rebuttals to the idea that the relationship (whether it’s romantic or not) so many of us have clued into is some sort of fabricated marketing scheme. At the very least, it’s not only that. Let’s get into them.

#1: Just because something is marketable doesn’t make it fake.

Are their subgroup photoshoots adorable and thick with chemistry? Yep. Do I think for one moment that there was a BH executive behind the camera telling JK to look at Jimin like THAT? With the slow-gaze drop down to his lips (or his ass)? Idk, to me that’s laughable. He just does. Like, I think two things can be true at the same time: Jimin and Jung Kook can look objectively good together and also be a popular pairing within the fandom and so the company can kind of play into that and promote their interactions, and ALSO they can have a naturally affectionate, long-standing close personal relationship that boosts the chemistry of those interactions. Does that make sense? It’s sort of like when celebrities who are love interests in a movie do a press circuit, and they have palpable sexual tension — that’s half the reason they were cast as romantic leads in the first place — and they also get along really well behind the scenes, because they click and also have spent a ton of time together. Of course the Warner Bros executives or whoever’s funding the movie is like hell yeah, play it up, sell those tickets — but that doesn’t invalidate the fact that the co-stars have likely truly become close and truly have a connection. And, often, it’s later revealed that the co-stars have in fact been banging the whole time. Shocker. AND even if they aren’t — they still may have had a very real connection that could have definitely sparked into something more had they chosen to pursue it — for instance, I don’t think for a second that Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake wouldn’t have hooked up during FWB if he wasn’t so obsessed with his now wife (and she might have been in a relationship then too I don’t remember). And it was exactly the case with Tom and Zendaya. AND that’s just for celebrities, who’ve often only been working together for 8-9 months or so, making a movie. Not two guys who are attached at the hip and have been for the last near decade.

Whew. That was a lot of ands. Still with me?

#2: I think you’re seriously overestimating everyone’s acting ability.

Imagine being “on” all the time.

I get that they could turn things on and get purposefully flirty or suggestive during fansigns, or onstage, but BTS are some of the most prolific celebrities out there in terms of “behind the scenes” footage. They have posted hours and hours of what basically amounts to reality show content, spanning years of their lives.

“But reality TV is scripted.” Well, duh. It typically needs to have some sort of narrative, some sort of direction or it will be dull. But as anyone who watches reality TV will tell you, it’s scripted, but also it’s not. That’s what separates it from purely fictional movies and series with actors; it’s real people having, for the most part, real reactions in real time, and it’s what is so fascinating to so many people. You can script an interaction on a reality show, but it’s much harder to script every individual person’s reactions to that interaction, the interpersonal relationships that form, the nonverbal behaviors and cues, the personality traits that are revealed. More often than not, someone’s true character, or at least several facets of it, will come out when they’re on a reality show. It’s how we can confidently say that certain bachelors/bachelorettes are assholes — because even while they aren’t meant to be portrayed as such, and in fact they are actively meant to be seen as desirable, marry-able people — sometimes they just can’t hide their gross true natures. And that’s just for 1-2 seasons. Imagine pretending that well for something like 8 years of behind the scenes content. That’s approaching psychopathic levels of acting ability, and it’s an unrealistic conclusion. Maybe they’re not dating, but I believe they’re absolutely as close, if not closer, than they look. There’s no faking that level of intimacy and comfort, not for that long.

#3: I don’t agree with you that shipping allows the members to date who they want.

I’m not sure how the two things are related actually, except that maybe shippers in the fandom are more likely to dismiss dating rumors because they believe the guys to already be taken? But that’s just the thing — dating rumors have only ever been rumors for them. Nothing’s ever been confirmed, though there has been PLENTY of speculation, for Jimin and Jung Kook both. So I don’t really see how promoting Jikook as a subunit has protected them from any of that? If they were dating other people they’d STILL have to sneak around and keep that shit locked down, regardless of shippers — because regardless of shipping, proof is proof and if a photo of them making out with somebody on a yacht leaks, it really doesn’t matter how many cute selfies they posted with the other members, know what I mean?

#4: I don’t ship/support Jikook because of their contrived interactions.

I support them and believe them to be in a romantic relationship, or at least something that is not strictly platonic, because of their tension, comments, behaviors, and stories they tell of off-screen moments. Sure, maybe some PR person gave them the okay to do that dance cover of Own It, but nobody told them to do it like THAT, in a dark room, alone, with tension so thick it seeps through the screen. Yeah, they got paired up for 2021 seasons greetings, but nobody paused the shoot to remind Jung Kook to fixate on Jimin’s lips as he playfully leaned in. Yeah, they were asked to share how they felt when they heard the news about the Grammy nomination, but do you really think a PR person pulled Jimin to the side beforehand and said “psst, do that thing where you pretend you were with Jung Kook at 3 in the morning, awake for no apparent reason, the fans love that shit.” Nobody told them to take an intimate selfie in a car together and look absolutely pissed off (Jimin) scandalized (JK) and caught off guard (both) when the camera caught them. Emily in Paris isn’t over there spinning outrageous ideas in a board room and telling JK and Jimin to pause reaally awkwardly when they notice the camera in JK’s hotel room, almost like they weren’t expecting it to be there when they entered together — the ONLY members to do so.

Have I made my point? These two are a treasure trove of suspicious moments that add up, and add up, and just keep swirling together until we all kind of collectively go — huh, that doesn’t seem strictly platonic, my dudes 🧐

Idk. It seems like this fandom is very fickle, and constantly erases any and all nuance and realism for these dramatic, black or white, this or that stances that don’t really make sense in the real world. Maybe Jimin and Jung Kook have never had a romantic relationship (and if they haven’t, in my opinion, no one has, because no one else in the group has anything close to their particular cocktail of intimacy, chemistry, and suspicious moments/stories). But even if they haven’t, does that reduce their every interaction to contrived content thought up by men in suits in a conference room? Nah baby. That’s 90% them, their marketing team is just the lucky bastards that get to reap the rewards of an electric duo. Or unlucky, probably, if you ask the poor peons in charge of editing hours of content 🙃
