So like, the love triangle/extremely complicated shape timeline in the buffyverse is something like
1753: Angelus gets turned by Darla. They're together for the next 150 years or so
1860: Drusilla is sired
1880: William has feelings for Cecily, who turns him down. Spike is sired. They're together for the next 120 years or so
Sometime in the middle there: Spike and Angelus have sex "that one time"
Sometime in the middle there: Angelus and Drusilla have sex multiple times
1898: Angelus gets cursed to have a soul, although he doesn't fully leave the whirlwind until after Spike kills the boxer rebellion slayer in 1900
1980s-1990s: Xander and Willow become friends, they "date" in kindergarten, Willow develops a proper crush later in life
1997: Buffy moves to Sunnydale. Xander develops a crush on her. Buffy and Angel begin their doomed love affair. Angel kills Darla. Xander asks Buffy to the dance, and she turns him down; he tries to get Willow to go with him instead, and she turns him down also, for very different reasons.
1997-1998: Xander starts dating Cordelia. Willow starts dating Oz. Buffy sleeps with Angel, then kills Angelus.
1998-1999: Buffy dates Scott for a short while before he dumps her, has a weird situationships with Faith, and starts dating Angel again. Drusilla breaks up with Spike off screen. Xander and Willow cheat in their SOs with each other, leading to Cordy dumping Xander. Xander sleeps with faith. Faith kisses Angel, and then who she believes is Angelus. Cordelia and Wesley have sexual tension, then the worst televised kiss of all time. Xander and Anya go to prom together. Angel and Buffy break up.
1999-2000: Buffy sleeps with Parker. Anya and Xander start dating. Harmony and Spike date on and off. Oz leaves Willow because he cheated on her with werewolf girl. Willow starts dating Tara. Oz comes back into town, only to leave again, for good this time. I Will Remember You doesn't happen. Buffy starts dating Riley. Cordelia and Doyle kiss, only for Doyle to immediately die. Cordelia kisses Angel, Wesley, and a bunch of other guys, trying to get rid of the visions.
2000-2001: Spike realizes he's in love with Buffy. Riley is the worst for half a season, then leaves after he sluttily lets every vampire in town bite him. Darla comes back to life and Lindsey falls in love with her, rip. Darla and Angel sleep together, leading to Angel's wasted attempt to give her a second chance at life instead being turned into a pregnancy. Lindsey leaves town. Drusilla tries to get Spike to come back to LA with her, but Spike wants to kill her to impress Buffy, so that doesn't work out. Harmony also leaves him over this. Xander and Anya get engaged.
2001-2002: Cordelia and Angel develop feelings for each other. Upon finding out Buffy is alive, Angle and Buffy go out to "a place" and do something, for sure, we'll never know what - not sex though, since Angel still has his soul. Spike and Buffy start sleeping together. Wesley develops a crush on Fred. Fred and Gunn start dating. Darla kills herself so that Connor can be born (can we reverse that somehow?). Willow and Tara break up over Willow's abuse of magic. Cecily is Halfrek, Anya's best friend, and the two of them recognize each other, although they don't expand on it. Riley comes back into town with a wife nobody can seem to dislike, leading Buffy to break up with Spike. Xander leaves Anya at the altar, but still wants to date. Connor gets kidnapped into a demon dimension and returns the world's worst teenager. Anya comes back as a vengeance demon, but can't get anyone to curse Xander; instead she sleeps with Spike for comfort. Everyone finds out about Spuffy. Willow and Tara get back together, then Seeing Red happens. Spike leaves town and gets his soul. Cordelia and Angel agree to meet to finally talk about their feelings, only for her to get ascended to a higher plane and for him to get trapped in a box at the bottom of the ocean by the world's most ungrateful son (does anybody like Connor? Are there people for whom he's like, their fav?).
2002-2003: Spike comes back to Sunnydale ensouled and insane. Cordelia comes back from being in an upper plane of existence, but has total amnesia. Spike and Xander are jokingly implied to have slept together. Buffy goes on a date with Wood, Xander goes on a date with a demon lady who tries to sacrifice him to the seal in the school basement. Cordelia gets her memories back but is acting incredibly strange, including *sleeping with Connor and getting pregnant*. Xander and Anya have breakup sex. Fred and Gunn start having problems and eventually break up (I'm not actually up to this in my Angel rewatch and I usually skip season four so I don't remember this in detail). Willow starts dating Kennedy. Willow goes to LA to help give Angel back his soul and bring Faith over to season seven of Buffy in the only good arc in season four, and she and Fred have insane chemistry, leasing to Willow letting Fred down easy ("I have a girlfriend"). Angel finds out about Spike and is jealous. Spike and Buffy share one last night together, although it's left purposefully vague what they did in that basement. Spike dies. Connor gets erased from all Angel Investigations' memories, and Cordy is in a coma.
2003-2004: Spike comes back to unlife, and when he gets corporeal form again, he has enthusiastic sex with Harmony, who is Angel's secretary. Magic makes Angel and Eve sleep together, although it's revealed Eve is together with Lindsey (I don't remember how that plot is resolved). Buffy is rumored to be dating some guy both Spike and Angel hate called The Immortal (iirc), and they both decide not to chase after her, although not until Spike alludes to that one time he slept with Angelus. It's generally a very homoerotic relationship all throughout the season. Cordelia wakes from her coma, kisses Angel, then is revealed to have died in her hospital bed (You're Welcome is so good but less than she deserved). Fred and Wesley finally get together only for Fred to be killed and replaced with Ilyria the next episode or something like that. When Wesley dies, Ilyria puts Fred "on" like a mask to comfort him as he passes, and she's sad that he did.
I purposefully skipped Giles, since he's not actually involved with any of the other main cast members, and therefore not part of the love... Whatever this is
Comic canon (just a few highlights): Buffy didn't actually date The Immortal, that was a body double left to party through Europe to foil assassination plots or something. Buffy sleeps with a younger slayer and it's never brought up again by anyone except the fandom. Buffy and Angel have sex in the middle of the apocalypse or something? Season eight was confusing to me and I last read it almost a decade ago. Spuffy become the canon couple for the rest of the comics. Dawn's season five crush on Xander turns into a relationship, which I find gross for different reasons than TikTok fans do. Anya comes back from the dead as a ghost for a while? I didn't actually read past s9 so I don't know what happened in any of that.
Did I miss anything big?

I realize I've posted quite a lot about The Wish today without really talking about the whole doomed alternate universe angle, but that's mainly because I just ... don't find that part of the episode very interesting?
As I've said before, Buffy's strength has never been its worldbuilding or its plotting, and this episode is no exception.  As an actual attempt to answer the question "what might Sunnydale be like if Buffy had never come to town?'' it's all a little underwhelming.  Where is Luke?  Where is Darla? Where is Jesse (and if he was never vamped in this universe, why not)?  Why does school end early (suggesting some sort of non-vampire authority trying to protect people), but forbid Cordelia from driving a car (thereby forcing her to walk home in the dark)? Why is there still school at all?  Why don't the humans just wait until it's light outside and leave town?  Did this reality have a 'real' Cordelia that our Cordelia physically replaced?  Why, if Cordelia's wish was only that Buffy never came to Sunnydale?  Why didn't her memories change too?  How and when exactly did the Master get free? Why did the Mayor let this happen?  Did Spike and Drusilla still come to town last year looking for a cure for Drusilla?  If so, why is Angel still alive?  Is there a particular reason why Willow, of all people, seems obsessed with torturing him in particular?  Did he fail to protect her when she was alive, or did he kill the vampire (Darla?) that sired her? Did Jenny still come to town to keep an eye on Angel? Where is she? Why does Giles insist on having White Hat meetings in the library at night instead of in his big, well-supplied, vampire-safe house?
These questions have no answer, and even typing them out like this feels like seriously missing the point (well, the last one is a question that we're not supposed to ask in the regular show either).  You could write fanfic trying to answer them (and I'm sure that people have), but they are far beyond the scope of this episode.
And ultimately we're just being told a shaggy dog story here: once Anyanka's power source is destroyed, we snap back to the moment of Cordelia making her wish and nobody has any idea what happened.  None of the characters can learn from or be changed by this episode's events. (Okay, yes, Anya will be changed the next time we see her, but she'll also be a mostly different character who just happens to share the same name.)
So we're left with metaphor, the show’s usual strength: what can the writers tell us about the characters through this story of a world where Buffy never came to Sunnydale? And the answer is ... not much, especially after the show goes for the shock twist of killing Cordelia off mid-episode.
Buffy would be much more like Faith if she didn't have her friends?  OK, but this is not news.  That has been explicitly the point of Faith's character for a while, arguably since her first episode. Giles thinks a world where he's no longer a Watcher and the town he lives in is overrun by vampires who keep killing people he tries to protect would be bad?  Yeah, me too.  Obviously there's some striking visual symbolism in Willow and Xander killing Cordelia and then Xander killing Angel (and being killed by Buffy moments later), and in Oz helping to kill Willow, but it just doesn't really mean anything.  These versions of the characters don't know anything about their 'real' selves, so these moments don't mean much to them, and the versions of the characters we've been following will never know about any of this at all.
Don't get me wrong: The Wish is a solid, fun episode. I enjoyed watching it, I'll enjoy watching it again next time I rewatch the show, and I get that having an alternate universe episode where everyone is evil and bisexual is any case all but mandatory for genre television. It's fun to see Mark Metcalf chewing the scenery as the Master again, and it's not like I'm immune to the appeal of Alyson Hannigan as vamp!Willow.  But there's just nothing much to say about any of it, is there?
Uh. It was sad when everybody died hating each other, but then magically they hadn't and they were friends again, and that was nice.

“Anya…” escaped Yoongi's lips in a heavy whisper, glaring at you wide-eyed, completely caught off guard.
“What are you doing here?” you questioned, trying to stand but getting dizzy. Taehyung pulled you towards him before your knees met the floor.
“What did you do to her!?” Yoongi yelled, aiming towards Jimin who was closer, holding him by the collar of his white suit. Jimin didn’t move, his expression showed no emotion but he did raise his eyebrows slightly.
“Go ahead, hit me, if it makes you feel better. She won’t be less like us because of it--” Jimin replied with a cold tone you hadn’t expected from him. Yoongi tried, he moved, darted to punch him but against what your body was putting you through, you launched and hugged him, holding him still.
“I’m still me,” you whispered, feeling the tears go down your cheeks. “I’m still me.” Even if everything you felt turned those words into a lie.
The idea of him rejecting you twisted your heart as if it was going to shred. He turned around and held you close, you felt him shaking slightly, in utter shock.
“Jimin–ssi, guys, leave the room, please,” said Taehyung in the most unreadable tone he could make use of. Jimin stared at him, about to object but then looked at you crying in Yoongi’s arms and stepped back to obey. The twins followed suit aiming a short bow at Taehyung.
“What have they done to you, Anya? This is horrific,” Yoongi said with a husky tone that hid his emotions, pulling from the hug and resting his hands on your shoulders. You met his eyes and started drawing his features. He had always been beautiful but you felt your attraction to him enhanced. Your eyes drifted down to his lips and you wanted to feel their softness, taste his mouth. Something under his perfume, scent, and energy changed and you felt the want turn into a need. He swallowed but he didn’t look scared in the slightest. Taehyung cleared his throat.
“What--What are you doing here?” you asked again, taking a step back, seeing how you had practically absorbed Yoongi’s personal space.
“It’s--” Yoongi tried to speak but got interrupted by Taehyung.
“He donates blood in exchange for studying our kind. That’s how he came across his popular vaccine and made so much money from it,” he pronounced sternly. “Right doctor?”
“Yeah. That’s it,” accepted Yoongi, trying to stay calm. You hadn’t stopped staring at him and he seemed to be unable to look away as well. Underneath his musk and whipped cream-scented skin, a watery undertone suddenly appeared. It felt like a winter breeze and cold salty water as if you were on board a ship in the middle of the ocean. The way it seemed to bottom in your heart as sadness sunk in.
“Oh Jeez… Suga… What have you gotten yourself into… If they find out–” you said while caressing his face. He looked startled and you sensed the possessive energy coming out of Taehyung at that moment and felt the hurry to move away from Yoongi.
“They won’t. He’s been working with us for the last two years.” Taehyung pointed out, calmer than you felt from him.
“Two years!?” you exclaimed, separating further from him. He looked conflicted and drew a thin line with his lips. You made the mistake of glancing at his throat, his scent tingled your brain. The musk over any other smell. Your body pulsated and you pushed yourself backwards, falling to the floor on your rear as one of your fangs poked into your lower lip, drawing blood. Taehyung was quick to help you up. “You gotta go,” you told Yoongi, meeting his eyes with an emotionless face. He stared at you in shock but also studied you since the cold blue eyes were now on you. Taehyung dried your droplet with his thumb and you heard him suck on it, like a kiss. Those tasteful lips and those long fingers. The sole image of that interaction raised your heartbeat and you felt your arousal spike. Taehyung pressed you against his body. He must have sniffed your state or sensed it somehow because you felt him starting to get hard and now it was him who smelled undertones of musk and vanilla, through his lavender and camomile-scented lotion.
You reverted back to what you felt in your teenage years; confused and overwhelmed by emotions that didn’t seem to have a source and getting horny by no means and reason. You hated that time and it didn’t seem like you were going to find much joy in your current circumstance either. But this time you had added pressure; sensitive to smells, connection to other's emotions, and, the ugliest one, the thirst.
“They told me to bring fresh blood,” Yoongi showed a big thermo and your stomach twisted. You started crying again, over Taehyung’s chest in desperate sobs. “When did you turn her? Damn it… This is such a mess. She can’t go back like this and they’ll definitely know she’s missing when she doesn't.” he pointed out.
“I told my uncle-- I’d be staying at the Hotel for a few days, maybe-- I’ll manage to act normal-- by then,” you said while sobbing.
“Could that be possible?” wondered Yoongi. He was genuinely concerned about how the whole thing would develop. You knew him well enough to catch on the majority of his cues and tells.
“Could. But she lost it just a minute ago… I feel like it would be sending her to an execution.” said Taehyung, caressing your hair. You looked at him.
“What are you planning on doing, sir?” Yoongi wondered, looking straight at Taehyung who was now staring at you. There was something soothing in your maker’s energy that brushed away any distress. His scent had changed to a river's water and woody kind, natural and relaxed.
“You can’t go out yet, you do understand now, right?” Taehyung told you, hand still caressing your hair and you nodded. “Now you should drink,” he said and walked towards the table and put it back in place gracefully and without an effort. Then he offered you a seat and made sure you were sitting properly at the table before calling Yoongi over, who obeyed. Taehyung started cleaning up the mess on the floor before he went to the kitchen for a wine glass and placed it in front of you and left the thermo.
“I can’t,” you pronounced. The idea of drinking blood from a glass of wine felt ridiculously excessive but the idea of drinking in front of Yoongi disgusted you to the core. If you were to succumb to the thirst and act like an animal, as you had done when drinking from the bag, you knew you could never look Yoogi in the eye again.
“Doctor, why don’t you go back to work? I can take it from here,” Taehyung told him calmly, giving him almost an angelic look.
“You guys freak me out when you act like that. It’s worse than if you tried to scare me off.” Taehyung only replied with a boxy smile. “I’ll be just outside if you need me,” Yoongi told you. He looked concerned and it made you feel bad. Nevertheless, he obliged and walked out the door. Taehyung took off the lid of the thermo and served you the blood. As soon as you caught the savoury scent, all you wanted to do was to drink without stopping.
"Enjoy. There's nothing wrong with enjoying it," he told you, putting his left hand on the upper part of the chair while offering you the glass with his other hand. You took the glass from him and sipped, immediately closing your eyes as your tastebuds got the hint of the thick liquid flowing across your tongue. It was true, there was no comparison when the blood was warm. Taehyung’s tasted like the most profound and unhinged yet classy part of nature. Like the depths of the forest and caves, like roses under the rain, like the roots of human existence, if those things would have a taste. The fridge blood prickled the sensations but now that something wild flowed through you as you swallowed slowly. You left the glass over the table and then opened your eyes to look at him. Then he served you another one and repeated the process three more times until you drank yourself full. Taehyung had joined you by your second glass but he only drank one with elegance and seemingly with a lack of thirst, as if he drank for pleasure. He must've caught your expression “If you are well fed, you’ll be less feral and less likely to attack someone too. If you get the chance, try dividing your intake into little portions during the day. It makes you feel less thirsty and you’ll be more calm about it.”
“But you said—”
“Two times a day. Yes, because that’s the normal way but there can always be a better way,” he said, finishing his last sip.
When you put the glass over the table by the end of your meal, you felt strangely drowsy, as if you were drunk. You rubbed your eyes but could barely keep them open. Taehyung stood and caught you in his arms when you blindly tried to stand as well.
"Listen to your body. It needs rest," he walked with you through the living room, then kneeled and pulled the lid of the chamber open, putting you in it. By the time your head touched the fluffy pillow, you were already out.
You woke up some time after, to a discussion going on in the living room.
"I really mean it. They know me. They trust me. If she can hold herself together I can walk her through to make sure she's fine," you heard Yoongi say.
"You'd love that, wouldn't you?" murmured Jimin. There was a tone that you could have confused with jealousy if you didn't know better.
"You need to get off your own ass. We wouldn't be in this mess if you didn't start it with your stupid vengeance plan in the first place." Jungkook cut him off with a tone you only expected from Jungsik.
"Careful there, boy," warned Jimin, "I don't need to show you your place, do I?"
"Let him be, brother. If you worry so much about status, I suggest you start acting accordingly to yours," Interrupted Taehyung. "Look where your spoiled-child tantrum has brought us."
"It was you who turned her and--" replied Jimin, trying to defend himself.
"But it was your fault!" shot Yoongi, "If you hadn't had a shit-show planned to hurt The Guardians, she would’ve just kept going with her life. Normally and happily. Nothing to hide—" he reprimanded. Taehyung was fast to shield Yoongi from getting in front of him when Jimin moved.
"You know the way she looked at him," Jimin murmured, "There's no way you agree with this…"
"If this prevents The Guardians from finding out what's happened, so be it," Taehyung replied. You pushed the lid open and stood out thinking the discussion was over.
"We could ask her what she wants," suggested Yoongi.
"Sounds like a great idea but I really gotta use the restroom," you said, walking your way toward it.
After washing your hands and brushing your hair to look more decent, you went out again to discover a powerman meeting with the other five men sitting around the table with their suits and a dead silence settled in the room.
You moved closer to them, walking calmly and observing them one by one before taking a seat yourself. It was difficult to tell Yoongi apart from the vampires, or rather the vampires from humans but when they all turned to look at you, you would’ve never been able to guess that there was only one human among them.
"What shall I decide, gentleman?" you wondered, the question made them look at each other.
"If you want to go back with Yoongi and play along to what your uncle thinks that happened," snickered Taehyung.
"Uh?" you didn't understand, "Going to the Hotel? Yeah, I can do that. Why is that an argument?"
"He meant the dating rumour," pointed out Yoongi, "I think it could distract him from any strange behaviour you might have and I could be around you to supervise whilst you figure out your next step, of course."
"Yes. You can't simply live amongst them anymore," declared Jungsik.
"This might give you some sort of closure," added Jungkook gently.
"Is it safe to do that?" you questioned. "My self-control is kind of questionable…"
"As long as you keep your guard up and use your head instead of your instincts you should be fine,” explained Taehyung, as if it was the most obvious thing, “My doubts are whether we’ll have time enough to teach you that, since you’ve told your uncle that you were quarantined in that hotel," he said, walking your way and caressing your face.
“Plus, that bastard General of your uncle is likely to send someone to check on you, right?” pointed out Jungsik. You frowned at him and he raised a brow.
"This sounds like a bad movie. A stupid plan if you ask me," Jimin pointed out. "It'll go wrong. Her place isn't there anymore, closure or not. Her place isn't with you, Min Yoongi," he spat, standing and Yoongi followed with a glare, "But I guess I don't really have a say here," Jimin shrugged.
Walking to the kitchen, taking two bags of blood out of what looked like a high-tech oven and emptying them in a jug, making your mouth water. A knock on the door interrupted his doings, "Come in."
Two heads poked through the cracked door when they opened it and two beautiful vampiresses entered the room.
"We wanted to say our welcomes to Taehyung," pronounced the brunette in a soft breathy tone.
At first sight, she seemed almost as tall as Taehyung with the slim figure that was a trademark of movie vampires in the past. Their own Underworld Selene, if it may, but with rounder features, big brown eyes with long and abundant lashes, and cooper-brown wavy long hair to her hips. To your inner amusement, you did imagine she could be the kind to get on black leather suits to hunt werewolves by the way she carried herself. But her nude clothing, inspired by Ingush's bridal dresses, made her seem more like the diplomatic kind. Also, the moment she stopped talking you realised she had an unreadable demeanour, making her more unsettling than the other vampiress resting bitch face.
The bleached blonde possessed a much darker eye colour like two profound and dark lakes that pierced you like the void, matching her sharp features. Her golden brown skin suited beautifully the soft purples of the hanbok hugging her curves and she wore her nails in a long stiletto cut, making her look like a ferocious princess. You could have sworn she acted as such with so low interaction.
"It's not a good moment, Cherry," interrupted Jungsik. She sternly met his eyes and arched a brow, making him chuckle but fold to a smirk and glance away. Jungkook, on the other hand, smiled sincerely when their eyes met and she appeared sweeter. When she moved to greet Taehyung with a hug, jealousy poisoned your veins. The blonde hadn't even moved and stared intensely at you. Cherry looked over to her companion when she noticed the lack of her presence beside her before she followed her line of vision.
"Oh Jeez…" she whispered and it seemed to you that her face brightened, "You got yourself a lover! You sneaky prince! No wonder you wouldn't come back..." she spoke while still observing you, seemingly forgetting about Taehyung. She hugged you, unexpectedly. "Welcome home, dove," she arranged your hair behind your ears. Her brightness earlier appeared to have vanished and replaced with a familiar sorrowfulness, "I'm sorry for what you have left to go through, " she turned to look at Taehyung again. The blonde had moved to hug him and was now kissing his cheek. Your blood boiled. "That was very cruel of you, Taehyung… I would’ve never taken you--"
"It's none of your business," he snapped, looking at her coldly while expressionless although you could sense his discomfort. The darkness in her eyes as she stood her ground stirred fear in you. Jungkook stood fast and hugged her from behind. By the way, he kissed her neck from behind to try to calm her and how heart rate immediately started slowing down, you understood they were likely a couple. It was only then that you caught their mixed scents, having been too distracted to sniff. Jungkook and Cherry almost smelled almost the same.
Curious, you also whizzed on the blonde’s smell and realised hers had a fainting essence similar to Jungsik. However, Jungsik did not seem to have any of her undertones. It didn’t take a genius to realise you were smelling an intercourse after-effect. Finally realising, what was so telling that the rest would know what you and Taehyung had been up to. You blushed, embarrassed.
"I'm Auria, pleasure to meet you," she said and you noticed Jungsik approaching. They looked serious at each other for a second until he invaded her personal space grabbing her by the waist. They smirked before kissing.
"Who would say they've been hooking up here and there for almost two hundred years, uh?" Cherry told you with a cheeky smirk, then winked at you.
"How long have you been together?" you asked her out of curiosity and trying to guess their ages.
"We met in 2020 when she was twenty-four and I was twenty-three but didn't start dating until fifty years later. In six days, on the 23rd of October it’ll be five-hundred and fifty-two years since we first shared blood," Jungkook explained. Your eyes widened to the startlement. They did seem to share a common ground somehow and the way they appeared to predict the other’s moves and act accordingly, made it obvious they had been really close for a long time.
"It's not a walk in the park as you may guess but with some effort, it is just as easy as any other thing," she told you. Taehyung appeared relaxed watching you speak with her.
"What took you so long to start dating?" A heavy silence fell on the room and all eyes looked at you. Jimin smirked in amusement.
"We were together during those years," answered Taehyung calmly, breaking the silence. As if spending half a century with someone wasn't a big deal, "But it's been really long since then," You looked at the way Jungkook and Cherry were with each other again. In a way, it felt as if their bodies, the cells of their beings vibrated at the same frequency. It amazed you. You perceived it very differently from Jungsik and Auria. The way Jungsik kept his hands at her hips pressing his whole body at her back. The almost imperceptible rocking motion. Their restlessness of their obvious focus on each other's movements, translated in sexual energy, was so high you felt like they would get it done right there and then, although the only thing they were doing was hugging.
“You may wonder in what category, you and the prince fall…" Cherry pointed towards the couple and then to you and Taehyung, "We normally share blood from both sides with the person we choose to be with and it stays mostly in a monogamous way. We don’t judge love or other kinds of relationships. We live way too long to limitate ourselves to a one specific way to do things, so any other kind of relationship raises no eyebrows in our society. Unless, of course, they were harmful to one or both sides.” Taehyung came close and put an arm around your waist, kissing your head again, apparently mindful of the others in the room.
“In your case, of course, it’s a weirder one. We don’t have this kind of bond or relationship with our minions--I mean, that’s what your kind is meant to be created for.” Jimin looked at Jungkook as he spoke. Something in those words had bothered him.
“Weirdly, he could choose not to take your blood and just leave it like this,” pointed out Jungsik, "This way, others will not let their possible attraction to you become a thing because, basically, you are owned." Auria slapped him in the chest and Jungsik giggled. She rolled her eyes with a smirk.
Taehyung didn’t say anything but you guessed, from how he looked at you to what he'd said previously, that he was more than disposed to do so but you still couldn’t put a finger on why. If what he’d done was mainly to avoid bigger damage by causing one that weighed less: Why was he so… loving?

No seriously the moment Willow realized it wasn’t Tara talking through Cassie I legit got fucking goosebumps. I actually got scared and had to turn on my light cause I’m a baby. Poor Willow did not deserve that. That was so cruel. I read Cassie was originally supposed to be Tara, but Amber Benson didn’t want to appear as “evil Tara”, plus scheduling conflict. When I originally found out Willow was talking to Tara I was like “why didn’t they bring back Amber Benson!?” but seeing how this turned out I’m like, ok yeah I’m really glad it wasn’t her. That would’ve been even crueler. (Is crueler a word?)
Loved the entire sequence with Dawn and Joyce. So fucking creepy. For some reason it reminded me a bit of the Exorcist (could be way off base with that, as I’ve never even seen the Exorcist). I think it was the cuts she got on her face and, y’know, trying to expel a demon. Of course the house was in complete disarray and the windows exploded, again. Seriously how many times do you think they’ve replaced those windows?
Buffy having that whole conversation with the vampire was funny and different, cause y’know she usually just kills them, and obviously important as it showed some insight into her character and how she thinks of herself, but I just felt like it went on for too long. Just my opinion though. I also thought why didn’t they bring back someone minor who we remember (kinda like the equivalent of Harmony) but I know now she needed a stranger so she could open up.
I missed Xander and Anya so I wonder how adding them in would’ve changed the episode/my opinion on it. (I already read that they thought about having Xander haunted by Jesse, his friend from season 1, and Anya have with Halfrek but there wasn’t enough time/scheduling conflicts.)
Spike is out siring people, which just proves having a soul means nothing. I’m wondering if it’s cause he was in the school basement for so long and the big bad got to him?
And what the fuck even is the big bad? It turned “Cassie” into something with a joker smile and then turned inside out and disappeared? No thank you. Were Joyce and Warren also part of the big bad?
Oh and Jonathan died, I guess? I mean out of the trio I’d pick him but I’m not really upset about that.
**as always, if anyone actually reads this (ha, as if) please do not give spoilers please and thanks**

Part One, Part Two, Part Three, Part Five
Tumblr media
Lucio woke, golden strands of hair falling gently on his face, his features soft from a good night's rest. He'd forgotten to close the drapes last night, and he could feel the warmth of the sunlight that flooded the room. His eyes were closed, but by the color of the sunlight that shone through his eyelids he knew that it must have been mid-day and he smiled. The two of you had slept well past noon - a testament to your night of passion.
He stretched out, groaning loudly as a sleepy smile spread across his face. He stretched his arm out towards you, reaching to caress the softness of your cheek to gently stir you awake. "Good morning, my love. Did you-"
He felt the emptiness of the space beside him. His heart jumped into his throat as panic filled his chest.
"She's probably just in the bath, I'll pop in and say hello." He murmured, trying to soothe himself. He sat up, throwing the sheets aside, unashamed of his nakedness as he approached the large mahogany doors that led to the Count's personal bath.
With the most charming smile he could muster he opened the doors.
"Doll, don't tell me you started without me?"
Silence. He was talking to an empty room of cold marble and his heart sunk. With empty eyes he looked around him and saw the truth. Your clothes were gone. You were nowhere to be found. It was almost like you hadn't been there at all.
You'd left him without saying a word.
The only proof that you'd been there at all was the warmth that you'd left behind from your side of the bed. He lay there, his cheek pressed against the sheets as your scent filled him.
He didn't know why he started crying - hot, angry, sorrowful tears that seemed to multiply the ache in his chest rather than abate it . He thought you were different, that after all the time and careful planning that last night would have made it clear you were more than just a one night stand. He wanted to be more than that
The count dressed quickly, not caring a nib whether he was a la mode or not. He made his way to your chambers, hoping for an answer as to why you left him. He knocked twice, and without an answer he entered, finding no one home.
The dress you wore to the ball last night was draped neatly on the bed, with a note attached addressed to your maidservant to have it cleaned and pressed.
Just then the girl came in, startled by the count's presence.
"Oh sire! I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to disturb you, it's just M'lady-" Anya began, backing away slowly as she pulled the door to close it.
"No it's alright. You may resume your duties." Lucio placed the note back on the dress, taking a careful look around. "Tell me, just where is your mistress? Has she given you any indication of her whereabouts this afternoon?" Lucio doubted it, but he thought he'd ask anyway. He was desperate.
Anya shook her head, " No sire. The Lady Magician usually is here about this time - doing her spellwork and what not. If she's not here sir, it's the library. Shall I send someone to fetch her for you, my lord?"
"No. It's perfectly alright. I'm sure I'll run into her. Thank you."
He strode out of your room, proud and regal as to not betray his disappointment. He'd try the shop. He couldn't open the door. It was magic - very strong magic meant to keep him out. But he knew someone with a key.
Questions were running through your mind as you fled the palace. You feel like Cinderella running away from the ball - that is if Cinderella slept with the prince, ran away, and then went to drown her sorrows in a seedy bar in the worst part of South End.
The Rowdy Raven was the place to go if you wanted to get away, or at least not at risk of the palace guard knowing where you were. Dressed in a black, high collar coat, you walked swiftly through the streets. The brisk morning air chilled your cheeks, the crisp breeze a herald of approaching autumn. You focused on the clip-clop sound of your boots against the cobblestone streets, quickly stepping sideways out of the path of an oncoming carriage that splashed mud on the tail ends of your coat.
Vesuvia was partial to early morning rains in the summer, and evidence of the deluge still dripped from the gutters and pooled in puddles in the street and dampened the earth.
You hardly took notice of it, only the lingering scent of rain caught your attention as your mind wrestled with the whirlwind events of last night.
The facts of the matter were that you'd made love with Lucio, and you didn't regret a single moment of it
BUT you were still in a relationship with Asra, although you two had argued, you hadn't told him it was over.
And was it over?
That was a question you'd asked yourself over and over these past few weeks, although you were refusing to speak to him - part of you still hoped you'd be able to work it out. That maybe somehow you'd reconcile. But you weren't sure if that was what you really wanted. Especially now that Lucio had stirred something inside you. He made you feel things you didn't think you would ever feel for someone else; passion, lust, maybe even love.
Julian came into the bar at around two in the afternoon. "Right on time as always, doctor." the barkeep smiled. "What can I get ya?"
"Surprise me." Julian grinned as he hung his coat on the wall. "On second thought don't. I'd like to live a bit longer."
Tilda, the barmaid came up to him on the pretense of clearing a nearby table. "Your friend, the magician's back there. Really putting them down too. Looks like something's worrying them awful fierce."
For a moment he thought Tilda meant Asra, and his heart jumped. He knew Asra had said he'd return within the week but he hadn't expected him so soon. But as Tilda nodded towards the booth in the back, he saw you and he sighed, thanking the gods because Asra and alcohol did not mix.
Hooded and still gloved he watched as you downed what looked to be your fourth Salty Bitter before he took a seat opposite of you.
"Alright, sister. Spill it. What's wrong?" Julian asked.
"You and Portia are too much alike, you know? Very perceptive." You laugh, hiccuping a bit.
"It doesn't take that much to see you're looking for answers in the wrong places. I hope this isn't because of Asra. Portia told me you two were fighting."
"I slept with Lucio." you blurt out, drink giving away your inhibition.
"Shit." Julian slumped back into the booth, steepling his long fingers as he pressed his forehead into them. "Give me the details."
You explain to him everything that happened, your flight, your confusion. your fear. He listened intently, as if you were on the examination table and he was making a diagnosis.
"I think that I know what your problem is, darling," Julian began as Tilda brought another round of drinks for you both. He waited for her to leave before he started again. " Do you know why you're here?" His arm rested gently on your shoulder.
"Because I'm a weak human being and I have no morals?" You reply, downing your 7th salty bitters.
"NO, and that's enough of that." He said, moving the 8th pint out of your reach and down his throat before you could protest.
"It's because for the first time in your life you have the kind of love that you've always dreamed of. You have someone who loves you, and you're scared shitless. You finally have that thing you've been chasing after, and now that you have it you're starting to question yourself."
"Asra loves me." You answer sadly, the words tasting bitter on your tongue, or maybe it's the alcohol. You’re not so sure.
"There's no doubt about that," Julian answers pointing a long finger at you. "But is his kind of love the one that you really want.Or just the one you've settled for because you're afraid that there is nothing better?"
The doctor’s words hit you deep, forcing you to think about them. For a moment, you were  considering whether or not Julian had an ulterior motive for wanting you to split with Asra. You'd seen that fragment of the past, and wondered if there still wasn't some feeling there. Ultimately though, that didn’t matter. Julian’s word rang true, and you knew he wouldn’t steer you wrong for his own gain. “You’re right, Ilya!” you declared, slamming your empty mug on the table. “I’ve been a damned coward, and a fool!” You grabbed another salty bitter off the tray of a passing waitress and took a big swig. “I’m going to grab true love by the testicles and tell Lucio I’m his if he’ll have me!” You posed confidently, moving to make a bold step out of the bar but failing miserably. You ended up swaying  drunkenly back and forth as you tried to catch your balance by holding on to a nearby barstool. Your double vision caused you to misjudge where it was, and your hand caught onto nothing but air, sending you straight to the floor, falling flat on your face. “Shit, you’re drunker than I thought!” Julian hopped up to pull you to your feet. “Ugh...Ilya, my face hurts….” you groaned, wincing as you touched your temple. “It should. That was a hard fall.” Julian chuckled as he checked you for any head injuries. “You gotta help me get to the palash...I gotta see Lucio. Tell him I luv him. I lurv him so mush!” You slurred, as you staggered towards the exit. “Not so fast! You can’t go to the palace like that! You’re going home until you sober up.Doctor’s orders.” Julian said, hooking his arm over your shoulder, keeping you steady. He settled the bill before, the two of you headed out, stopping a few times along the way for you to throw up in nearby alleyways.
As you and Julian were leaving South End, Lucio entered it, trying to remember the way to Julian’s Flat. He hadn’t been there in years. In fact, he couldn’t remember he ventured past center city, save for the occasional trips to the Coliseum when it had been in operation. He knew better to ask any citizen in South End where the doctor hung his hat. The people in this part of vesuvia looked out for each other, and wouldn’t snitch to the count about their favorite son. After a half hour of tracking and the clue of a familiar looking raven perched on top of a building, he found the flat.
“Jules! Jules, open up, pal! I gotta talk to ya!” Lucio’s jersey accent was strong as he knocked on the door. When there was no immediate answer, he started pounding on the door so hard that the wood began to crack under his metal fist. “Jules! Open up Jules! I know you’re in there! I saw your bird outside!” “Ay!”  A large, round, red faced man glared at Lucio from down the hall. “The doctor’s not here dipshit! Now go make your noise somewhere else. Some of us have jobs and are trying to get some sleep!”
“Hey watch your mouth! I’m the count.” Lucio said haughtily.
“Do I look like I gives a shit who you are? Clear outta here, or I’ll throw you out myself!” If Lucio was his younger self, he’d have gutted the man for talking to him this way. But he was a different man now, and tried to use diplomacy. “Alright. I’m going. And I won’t throw you in prison if you tell me where I can find Jules.” Lucio said, his patience wearing thin. “Try the rowdy raven. Looked like he was headin’ there. But you didn’t hear that from me.” the man answered before slamming his door.
“Thank you...asshole.” Lucio grumbled under his breath, his black leather boots stomping down the rickety wooden steps. The sky was overcast with somber looking clouds hovering above the city, making Lucio wonder if it would rain again or if the clouds would eventually give way to the sun. It didn’t seem that way. The smell of rain clung to the damp air, and everything felt dull, wet, and dreary. Or maybe Lucio just felt that way because the apprentice had walked out on him.If he could find you, and talk to you, maybe then he could understand why you abandoned him.
At the Rowdy Raven he could hear the ruckus in the street, the sound of laughter and cheerful, drunken singing. It all stopped when the count entered. A cool silence filled the room, and some patrons slipped quietly out the back. Others just glared at him hatefully or didn’t look his direction at all. Many still remembered Lucio as the vain, volatile and selfish ruler he once was and not as the man he was trying to become and he let out an exasperated sigh. He supposed he deserved such a reaction from his own people.
“Afternoon, Count Lucio.” Tilda curtsied, trembling a little. “How may I be of service?” “I’m looking for Dr. Devorak. Have you seen him?” The count questioned.
A pregnant silence followed as Tilda’s eyes shot to the owner behind the bar. He was cleaning glasses as he gave a nod to Tilda to answer. “He was here earlier this mornin’, sir. A lady patron had too much to drink and he walked her home. Dunno where he is now.” Tilda answered.
“A lady patron? What did she look like?” Lucio asked. He smiled when Tilda gave him your description, and Lucio sat a bag of gold on the table, enough to buy everyone in the tavern a round of drinks and then some.
As he came out of the pub, the cloudy skies overhead cleared and gave way to the sun. He knew where you were now, and that was all he needed. He set off towards your shop, confident he’d find you there.
In the shop, Julian had made you his famous, guaranteed hangover fix. You looked at the greenish brown concoction wearily, unsure if it wouldn’t come to life and bite off your nose. Besides it smelled awful.
“Ilya...Ilya I can’t drink this…” You groaned, trying to keep from vomiting from the smell of it alone.
“Aw, come on trust me! It’s my go to sober up remedy!” Julian smiled, pushing the glass towards you.”Now come on, be a good girl and drink up.”
“I don’t want to be a good girl.” you grumbled, your last protest before you took a cautious sip. Strangely, it wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be. There was a strong taste of beets, carrot and ginger, and maybe a few raw eggs. You drank it all down, pinching your nose to ward off the smell.
“Better?” julian asked as you swallowed the last.
“Somewhat. It didn’t taste that bad actually. By why in heaven's name does it smell so bad?”  you asked as you felt yourself start to sober up.
“Could’ve been the garlic, or the sardines.” Julian thought, scratching his chin. “In any case, I suggest you give your mouth a good rinse before you smooch Lucio.”
“Definitely.” you agreed, standing up slowly. “Well thank you for helping me Julian, really.” you stood on your tip toes to kiss him on the cheek, laughing when he scrunched up his face from the smell of your breath. It was just what he got for making you drink that junk.
“You’re welcome” He gagged, trying to wave the stench away. “You should probably get yourself cleaned up and rested before you get back to the palace. I’ll clean up the kitchen before I show myself out.”
“Alrighty then,” You smiled heading upstairs to refresh yourself.
You opened your bedroom window to reach the herbs and spices you had growing just outside on the window sill. Grabbing some cloves and spearmint you grabbed your mortar and pestle from the vanity and ground them slowly into a powder which you dipped your toothbrush in and began to scrub your mouth. You repeated the process again after taking a cold shower, feeling completely rejuvenated. You threw on a robe, and wrapped your wet hair in a towel before heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
You were surprised to hear sounds coming from below. Julian should have finished cleaning the kitchen long ago. “Still here, Julian?” You ask not expecting to hear the voice that  you did. “No he left. But he said I could wait for you here. I hope that’s alright?” Lucio said, his voice soft and no trace of his usual brashness.
“L-Lucio? What are you doing here? I thought you were at the palace?” You blanched.
“I can see why you would think that, considering that you left me cold and alone this morning without sayin’ a word.” He replied, his hurt apparent in the sadness in his eyes.
“I’m sorry, Lucio. This morning I woke up next to you and I had all these feelings and I panicked and-”
" And You ran away from me." Lucio finished your answer.
"NO! I mean that's not what I meant to do.... I mean, I guess I did." You sigh, turning away from him. Why were feelings so hard? Particularly these feelings. Everything seemed so straight forward when you were talking this over with Julian.
"Did I do something wrong?" Lucio asked, his tone sad and broken as his voice cracked.
"No! absolutely not.” You answered resolutely. “ I just think I did?"
"What do you mean?"
"I mean it's not easy walking away from someone you've loved for years and then just jumping in with someone else.. I didn't want you to think I was using you as some sort of rebound or a way to get back at Asra to make him jealous. I wanted to be sure of that."
" And are you? sure?"
"No. I mean I don't know. I just know that I want to be. I want more than that with you."
"I see."
You hated those words. It's what Asra said all the time when you were arguing and it made you feel like you were talking to a wall. a wall who only saw and understood things as they wanted them to be.
“Look, what I’ve been trying to say is that I have feelings for you too, Lucio. And it scares the heck out of me, because finally I’m with someone who loves me back the way I want to be loved and I don’t know how to handle it.” You sighed, desperate to get your feelings across to the man in front of you.
"Then you want to be together?" He asked, hope in his voice, as he felt joy rising up from the tips of his toes.
"I sure hope we can be." You smile.
“Yes!” Lucio jumps up, whooping with glee as his fist pumps in the air. He captures you in his rapture, taking you in his arms and squeezing you tightly as if he was afraid you might slip away from you again. The towel on your head slipped off and fell, landing on the kitchen floor with a wet plop.
Neither of you noticed. Lucio was too busy living in this moment, gazing into your eyes as if they were the only ones he wanted to look at. Slowly you went to kiss him, feeling his smile against your lips spread warmth throughout your body.
The kiss was different, a soft silent 'I'm sorry' that neither of you could voice but just wanted to feel as your lips explored each other.
‘I’m sorry’ quickly turned to “I need you.” as Lucio whispered it against your lips, his hands trailing lower to grip your ass through the thinness of your robe.
“Upstairs.” You whisper hurriedly, taking his hand and intending on leading him to the bedroom.  However, the jolt of him pulling you back into his arms and crashing his lips onto yours stops you in your tracks. He wanted you here and now, and would not wait any longer.  He walks you backwards and you yelp when your back hits the counter and he lifts you up onto it. Your robe falls away with ease, and Lucio thanks the stars that he chose his simple hunter’s outfit. He swiftly pulls his shirt over his head, discarding it on the floor, before bringing his chiseled chest against the smooth softness of your breasts.
There’s barely enough room for you to stand between him and the counter, but you make it work, holding his gaze as his eyes darken. Your toes barely touch the kitchen floor with your legs spread wide and open for him.
You anticipate Lucio’s touch before it comes, cold metal fingers sliding up your arched spine until his fingers can wrap around the nape of your neck. His hips press against you, just enough to let you  know he’s there, while the fingers of his other hand rids himself of the remainder of his clothes. You’re both soon stark naked against each other, a tangle of mouths and needy hands. You feel his length start to harden against the inside of your thigh. You reached down to touch it, hearing a small whimper leave the count’s throat when your thumb glides against his weeping tip.
Like chains had just been released from his body, Lucio’s mouth attached to yours feverishly. The heat of his body permeated through the parts of skin that touched, your naked flesh felt like he was on fire against his.
The kiss was hot and heavy, saliva mixing together as he kissed you greedily. Your own mouth and tongue roamed his mouth with just as much fervour. His light fingers knotted through your hair, his teeth grazing your lips. Your own hands feeling up and down the sculpted expanse of his back and touched scars, old and new. The smaller ones your doing from last night
.
You sighed with longing and relief when Lucio slipped his finger inside. Until that moment you hadn't known how much you need lucio. But your body knew  it had craved him since the first taste.
You could feel his erection prodding against your soft inner thigh. His right hand slid down your wet body to your cunt. You gasped, gripping his arms in shock as he assaulted your clit with his dexterous fingers.
You cry out against him, Your teeth scraping the skin of his shoulder. "Please Lucio! Don't tease me!" You beg, but the count just smiles and wraps his hands around your breasts and squeezes your nipples hard. The pinching makes you whine out and Lucio leans forward with a shit eating grin, his lips brushing your neck and shoulders before he lavishes the crook of your neck in wet kisses.
“Please!" You whine lowly again and the tone almost makes him lose his self control.
Lucio dips his fingers into your heat and You buck against his hand, fucking yourself on his stilled fingers.Satisfied that you needed him, Lucio pumped his fingers, making you cry but it wasn’t enough for you, you need more and he knows it.
His fingers move faster inside of you, a steady rolling motion that makes your knuckles turn white where they’re gripping the cool granite countertop. He knows exactly how to pleasure you, exactly where to touch you and get your wetness spreading down onto your thighs and down his wrist. It’s like he’s practiced for this moment, dreamed, prepared, and planned to have you like this. The thought makes you want to touch him to, to thank him and apologize for delaying this dream come true.
You wrap your fingers around his cock. It’s rock hard and you feel pulsating veins under your palm as you stroke him and nip at his throat. He leans his head back with a groan and shivers and shudders under your touch until he can’t take it anymore and he captures your wrist in his golden claw, the metal threatening to bite into your skin. He pushes his pants the rest of the way  down and steps between your thighs and you lock your ankles around him. You yelp in surprise when he lifts you up and carries you across to the table and lays you on it.
You both make eye contact, panting heavily as his icy blue eyes gaze into yours before traveling down to where your bodies meet. You both watch as he holds himself steady and pushes inside you slowly, Lucio groaning low and deep when he finally fills you.
He leans down like he’s going to kiss you, but he just brushes his nose against yours and whispers, “You gonna stay with me this time?”
You laugh a breathless sort of laugh as you nod. “Honey, you couldn’t get rid of me if you tried.”
His smile is so pretty then, genuine and full of love. “That’s my girl.” He whispers, before finally starting to move inside of you. He pulls out with incredible slowness before slamming back inside, making you cry out, your lips twisting up into a relieved smile as pleasure sparks all over your body.
The feeling’s so intense after all his teasing, almost too good as he stretches and fills you just right, and sets a hard, steady pace.
You collapse back onto the table, elbows flat and nails digging into the oak as he thrusts into you with such power. You barely have enough time to figure out whether the four foot square table is strong enough for this because Lucio lifts your legs up to his shoulders and holds them there as he buries his cock into you at a new, deeper angle.
“Damn, you feel so good, darling. I can never get enough of you.” He thrummed against your inner thigh before kissing just behind your knee.
You began to speak, but his lips crushed to yours. In one motion he took hold of your hips, slammed them to his and leaned forward, folding you over so that your knees were just above your ears as he rocked forward. Your words were replaced by soft whimpers of pleasure. The feeling of her clenching around his cock made him smirk as he thrust harshly upwards. His magician did like it a little rough, and he could admit he liked that.
He set up a robust pace; his hips ramming into yours before he pulled all the way out. He repeated his pattern until you were both loudly declaring your pleasure for each other. The sounds of your coupling filling the room, the dining table creaking under his efforts. Your hips began to meet his, and you wailed his name so loudly it could be heard through the open kitchen window. But you didn’t care, and Lucio was so shameless that he didn’t give it a thought.
“Lucio, oh my god, fuck! I’m gonna come!” You grab for anything to steady yourself and end up with one hand on your breast and the other clutching the edge of the table. “You’re gonna, I’m, I’m…”
You scream as the pleasure finally breaks, washing over you and making her forget everything else but the feeling of Lucio inside of you and above you. He keeps fucking you, adding his fingers against your clit and you keep coming like you’re never going to stop.
He starts to move inside of you faster, keeping his eyes locked with yours until he starts to get overwhelmed too. He leans and lets his eyes drop closed, bracing his hands on the table so he can chase his end with the same determination he gives to everything else
You prop your heels up on the table and watch his face, moaning as the slight pain of overstimulation turns back into pleasure. You reach down to play with your clit, rubbing hard and fast and moaning louder as you do.
Lucio’s voice joins yours and he presses deep inside of you, curling over you and coming inside your womb with a cut-off cry that’s too quiet. His face is pinched in pleasure, lips parted, brows drawn together, and he fucks you through it with shallow thrusts that get you to the edge of coming again.
He growled as your inner walls clamped down on him. Your second orgasm pulling you both under a wave of satisfaction, his own following with a few jerky pumps of his hips. As he filled you with his warmth, you pulled him close into a sloppy kiss. Your bodies formed together, and you buried your face into his neck.
He stills finally and gasps, catching his breath before opening his eyes to look down at you. He laughs softly, still breathing hard as he looks around and sees the mess you two have made on the table, and the surrounding floor. A vase of flowers lies spilled over, the water dripping onto the floor where several empty dishes lay, along with a broken tea cup. But you both know that it all can be fixed with a little magic.
“Can we stay like this for a little while?” You questioned as his hands crept up your sides. They slipped down to rest on your hips while he pressed his cheek against your shoulder.
“As long as you like, doll.” Lucio answers with a few soft kisses as a quiet crept into the room.

Cerberus: human research division & training
Oops I have to put this post here because now i’m thinking of cerberus and i gotta talk about it
To have a better idea of Cerberus’ goals besides their continued survival, it’s key to understand their methods of not only training their dogs and blood banks, but key to understanding just what Caspian’s role is in all of it.
Caspian Dupont, is the one in charge of both the training of the dogs and blood banks, seeing to their education as well as who shows promise. Not only is he Anya’s progeny, but he serves as her right hand man, and the two are married to one another as well. His main duty is seeing that Anya’s orders are followed, and when he’s not busy with that, he can be found within his lab, attempting to figure out a way to make humans last longer as their source of labor as well as food.
Dogs and Blood Banks:
When it comes to training, the dogs are put through brutal regiments, and many of the children who are taken into Cerberus die in the process of being selected to “graduate”. They’re given a basic education, enough that they can read and write as well as understand and use sign language effectively. The blood banks on the other hand are given a slightly better education, and are also trained in the arts and entertainment. After all, not only are they the servants, but they’re also expected to entertain the vampires as well as clients as well.
One of the dogs that stands out in particular is Silas.
Taken from an orphanage, Silas was lured in with the promise of Anya seeing him as her very own child. He was legitimately loyal to her, even after all of the pain of becoming a dog entailed. His vocal cords damaged to the point where speaking was painful for him, the iron collar around his neck that could take his life at any given moment, he still held hope. Silas isn’t alone in this regard, as some dogs are brainwashed to be completely loyal to their owners, Silas on the other hand, had his idealization of Anya be destroyed after he was given to one of the vampires for sex.
Silas is seen as the example of what a dog should be, strong, swift and relentless in following orders. As the number one ranked dog in Cerberus, due to being one of Anya’s dogs, he is given a slight bit more freedom in the sense that his room is a bit more lavish than the average dog’s room. His strengths lie not only in his physical ability, but the fact that even when faced against opponents stronger than him, he can beat them because of his quick thinking. Case in point, Asher and Silas fought one another, despite Silas being younger and Asher being a werewolf, Asher was barely able to land any attacks on him. Silas is also considered one of the few dogs who could take on a vampire and win.
There’s also another division of dogs, known as The Hellhounds. Unlike most dogs, these are vampires who were formerly dogs and were turned because of their loyalty to Cerberus. They’re also typically used to eliminate other vampires, be they in Cerberus who might show signs of going rouge, or outside competitors, mostly found in Ares.
Veronica is one of the hellhounds, albeit one who was bought in under unique circumstances. She and Nicoletta were sired by a vampire who was not from Cerberus, and instead, she pledged her loyalty to Anya to not only earn them a place in the organization, but also so that she could find a place for Nico and herself where they could at least feed regularly. The Hellhounds typically don’t show their faces, instead wearing longcoats as well as face obscuring masks that make it impossible to guess both their genders as well as what they look like.
They’re considered useful for not only their abilities and experience as dogs, but also because of the intimidation factor that comes from facing them as well.
Human Research Division:
Now, the human research division, as it sounds, specializes in performing experiments as well as trying to make humans last longer and give more nourishment to vampires. Caspian oversees this, with his dog Coraline assisting him in his experiments, often helping him find test subjects as well as disposing of what can’t be used.
Recently, Caspian has taken to creating test tube children, one example of which is Bjorn, born in a branch in Norway. Unlike Ares, Cerberus only wants to keep humans around so that they have a food source as well as labor and clients to rely on. Ares on the other hand, led by Daisuke, wishes for vampires to be treated as gods, hence why he has spread the false narrative that he is the “father” of all vampires, while ensuring that the “mother” is not spoken of.
Typically, Caspian and those who work with him are found studying their subjects as well as seeing if they can enhance human strength as well, not enough to be a threat to vampires, but enough that they can become even more effective as assassins and servants.

“The ten-year-old Richard was pink and white and delicate as an apple-blossom. His thistledown curls were yellow like a new-hatched chick. His shoulders seemed too slight for the vast white and brilliant-studded mantle they had draped on him, albeit he sat his horse sturdily and pricked it angrily with his golden spurs of knighthood when the beast lagged.
‘By corpus, he looks like a maiden,’ cried the irrepressible Elizabeth, examining her cousin critically.”
(Anya Seton, Katherine)
“He was twelve, younger than Jon or Robb, but taller than either, to Jon's vast dismay. Prince Joffrey had his sister's hair and his mother's deep green eyes. A thick tangle of blond curls dripped down past his golden choker and high velvet collar.”
"What did you think of Prince Joff, sister? He's very gallant, don't you think?"
"Jon says he looks like a girl," Arya said.”
(GRRM, A Game of Thrones)
“She did not hear what the King had said, but he had pushed his gilded visor up and she could see a cruel half-smile on his girlish pink and white face and she heard what one of the new captives, the blacksmith, called out from the ground. ‘But sire, ye gave us all our freedom at Mile End! Don’t you remember? Ye promised us we’d all be free. See, here’s the charter they gave me!”
The man waved a ragged piece of parchment towards Richard, who began to laugh and turning, said something to his Uncle Thomas, who also laughed.
Richard backed his horse around, then standing high in the stirrups, shrilled out, “What fools ye be - what dolts - ye traitorous ribands be!” His high voice crowed with triumph. “You thought to frighten your King! You had it all your way for a time, did you not? That time is past!”
(Anya Seton, Katherine)
A thousand voices were screaming, but Arya never heard them. Prince Joffrey … no, King Joffrey … stepped out from behind the shields of his Kingsguard. "My mother bids me let Lord Eddard take the black, and Lady Sansa has begged mercy for her father."
He looked straight at Sansa then, and smiled, and for a moment Arya thought that the gods had heard her prayer, until Joffrey turned back to the crowd and said, "But they have the soft hearts of women. So long as I am your king, treason shall never go unpunished. Ser Ilyn, bring me his head!"
(GRRM, A Game of Thrones)

BUFFY REWATCH - S05E03 - The Replacement
XANDER: "A demon has taken my life from me and he's living it better than I do."
*He's now standing and has his Hawaiian shirt in his hands. He gives it a shake to remove the water. Willow is still sitting on the bed and winces as the water sprays her*
WILLOW: "Well, we're working on it. There has to be a way to get to Buffy to ... unhypnotize her. I'll find a spell to snap her out of it."
*Stands up and goes to her bookcase*
XANDER: "Right. Whatever."
WILLOW: "Xander, you sound a little... you have to help me figure this out, you know."
XANDER: "But I never help. I get in trouble and Buffy saves me."
WILLOW: "That's not true! Sometimes we all helped save you.
*Realizes that was unhelpful*
And sometimes you're not in trouble."
*They both sit on the bed again*
XANDER: "I'm just... another great humiliation.
*Willow looks sympathetic*
But this time it's even worse. This demon - he's like taking my life and everyone's treating him... Everyone's treating him like a grown-up! Will, I'm starting to feel like..."
WILLOW: "Like what?"
XANDER: "Like... he's doing everything better. He's smarter and... I don't know, maybe I should just let him have it. Take my life, please."
WILLOW: "Xander, no!"
*Puts hand on his shoulder*
"You're just tired and... and all soggy. That's why it seems so hard. But you can't let him just take your whole existence."
XANDER: "Why not? It's not like I was doing anything so great with it. When I get to the pearly gates I'm sure the guy is not gonna go, 'Hey, what a kick-ass comic book collection, come on in!'
*Willow still looking sympathetic*
"No, what have I got that's even worth-
*Eyes widen*
Anya!"
WILLOW: "You think he's after her?"
XANDER: "She won't know. He can just... no. No way!
*Jumps up*
No way. He can take anything but he can't have her. I need her."
WILLOW:
*Half disgusted, half smiling*
"Really?"
XANDER: "He could be with her right now! Figure out a spell, something ... revealy. I gotta find her."
*Turns to leave*
WILLOW: "Xander...
*He turns back*
You already knew he was taking over your life and... you didn't think about Anya till just now?"
XANDER: "Hey, wait till you have an evil twin. See how you handle it."
*Exits*
WILLOW:
*Pouts*
"I handled it fine."
If there's one thing Willow and Xander have in common and share in in low vibratory moments... It's that loser mentality and thinking of being useless or valueless to the people around them. And while Willow has found her stride in not being that anymore, Xander hasn't and never really does. Like I said... Every main character in this show has insecurities, worries, fears and all number of issues and problems... But Willow's are hidden behind a costume while the other characters wear them on their sleeve. And that's what makes her insecurities so interesting to talk about. The persona she wears to cover them up and the fact that she is so afraid someone is just gonna come along and strip her bare so that all they'll ever see is the loser, the "spaz", the geek. Which isn't her anymore no matter what she believes or how she thinks of herself.
So when Xander confesses what he does to Willow in this scene about how "demon Xander" is taking his life and maybe that he should just let him because, according to him, he is living it better than he ever did... Willow more than understands how he feels. And the clever mention to Vampire Willow really just puts this point into perspective I say... Because Willow did used to feel like that too until her evil doppelganger showed her that she could definetly have it a lot worse off than being an "old reliable" best friend to Buffy and Xander and that she should really count her blessings because there was never anything wrong with it in the first place. And since Vampire Willow is subtly brought up in this scene... It does make me wonder who sired who. I'm sure there's some fanfiction out there for that - I should go mooching for it.
Off topic - I did notice that there is no longer 2 single beds in Willow's dorm room but one queen-sized bed instead. I'm sure that's convenient and comfy now she's got the room to herself. 😏

The Magic of Tupperware
Pairing: Spike x fem!demon!reader
Request: I'd love to see the Scooby gang's reaction to Spike's gf. He hypes her up to be this strong badass who could kill anyone but when she finally meets the gang everyone's confused cuz she's polite & sweet & cute. On patrol with everyone, Spike is super protective of her which leads to him being kidnapped & then GF shows the gang how badass she is as she hunts down and destroys the ghouls who took Spike (maybe some fluffy care for wounded Spike that clashes with her badassery?)
Requested by: Anon
Warnings: Reader is kinda violent. Violence/fighting. Blood mention.
A/N: It’s the longest I’ve written on here, I always get carried away on a back story.
I took liberties with the demon the reader is (Fae is a catch-all I think I just needed something that wasn’t human and wasn’t vampire lol). Use your imagination if you want to be something else !!
Tumblr media
You and spike had met in a demon bar. You appeared human, pointed ears was a myth at least in your lineage, and so he wasn’t really sure what you were doing there. You were descendent from fae. You didn’t have wings or anything to that effect, but a spell had been cast on your eighteenth birthday that meant you had strength, reliant on earthly forces for your power. You hadn’t aged much since then, your skin aged much slower than human. You would live a long life, appearing youthful for centuries at least.
He asked you why you were there – you even smelled human. You explained, hit it off, and you have been together for a while now. You had surprised him and confessed your love for him first, leaving him in awe that you were as invested in the relationship as him. Spike hadn’t introduced you to the Scoobies despite being together for a year, although he told you a lot about them. It didn’t stop him bragging about you at any given opportunity to them either.
Spike now lived with you in your little one-bedroom flat, the crypt had been nice and all but you were becoming inseparable and you wanted to share a cosy place together. You had shipped some necro-tempered glass from the manufacturer in LA and had it installed on the sly so that he could be comfortable. This glass meaning he could be in direct sunlight through the windows.
You were kind. Sweet-tempered for the most part. Your strength was often used for good, but perhaps in a more abstract sense than the Scoobies may agree with. You would do anything for him because you loved him so much and you knew without doubt he felt the same for you. However, especially when it came to him, you had a protective streak and it could get ugly.
One of the many times Spike had gushed about you, had left the Scoobies unsure. One, about the actual legitimacy of this ‘significant other’ they have never even seen after a whole year and two that he actually appeared to gush about you. Like, non-stop. Nobody could shut him up.
Spike had been, once again, punched in the face for his suggestion to a problem that launched him into a rant that turned into talking about you, “She’s gonna sort the lot of you right out. One look and you’ll be trapped in her eyes. She’ll kill you. She’ll bloody torture you and laugh while you writhe on the floor like-” Spike cut himself off, you had told him not to brag about you this way. You liked a little mystery and also, you didn’t enjoy bragging the way he did. You knew the slayer wouldn’t like you if he told them of the ways you had killed various demons that threatened either you or Spike.
There was a new threat in town. A vampire cult. Their goal was to turn people and then ‘elevate’ them as a higher being by torturing them until they sign away their un-life to the cause. They were very powerful and bonded by the violence that would break even the strongest will. It was a massive problem, Buffy and the others had been overwhelmed the last time they had faced the group and had barely got away unscathed. This was why they were going back with reinforcements. Buffy had explained that they really should meet you and also, they needed the numbers. It was hard to tell how big the threat from the group truly was from a vague prophetic dream and a half-translated text.
That evening, you and Spike entered Giles’ home and Spike made a show of introducing you to the others.
“This is y/n” spike said, pride in his voice evident, his eyes never leaving yours as he introduced you to the scoobies. He was besotted with you. Nobody else mattered in the room when you were in it. You were perfect, the sweetest person he had ever met rolled up into the tough exterior of someone who could handle themselves at a rate that could match him.
“What a lovely home you have!” You say sweetly, the sincerity acutely evident to the room, “It’s so nice to finally put faces to the names” you went around and greeted everyone individually as if they were Spike’s friends, a pleasant little smile that read as almost shy to the others.
Buffy squinted at you, on guard, but she was still pleasant. Willow and Tara offered you a smile, telling you they liked your outfit. Xander and Anya were both speechless, which should be a day memorialised for years to come. Neither of them were speechless often. You weren’t what they had expected. They had thought you would at least have scales or something. But you were innocent-looking and incredibly polite as you greeted them. Dawn squealed, instantly thinking you were the coolest. Spike had told her so many stories and she had tried twice to follow him to where you lived without luck.
“Oh, uh, well yes. Welcome” Giles sputtered; you were exactly nothing like he had pictured. Xander, Buffy and Willow just stared in shock. You spoke for a while, friendly small-talk with the group that was genuine. You really did want to hear about them, meeting new people was always interesting to you. You were a perfect sweetheart, by all accounts, and nobody could understand how you and Spike had even happened. You opened your mouth to tell them something before someone spoke over you.
“You are not like how Spike described. I don’t believe you could have fought five vampires and a fyarl demon by yourself” the woman, Anya, said bluntly finally finding her voice.
“I’ll take that as a compliment. I think” You offer with a pleasant smile, trying to figure out how to phrase what you wanted to say, “He’s said a lot about you all, he, uh- he uh- barely stops talking about you” You finish awkwardly, still smiling at the group. Spike hadn’t told you anything particularly good about any of them, so you couldn’t say you had heard good things. You didn’t tend to lie.
“Love!” He warned, trying to get you to be quiet but you giggled softly and he melted. He pulled you into his side, wrapping his arm around you and making sure he was in contact with you.
“Sorry, I didn’t want to tell them you’re usually threatening to kill them” you whispered in his ear, punctuating your words with a soft kiss next to his ear, making him smile. He loved that you cared so much that you’d protect him from them threatening him if they found out about that.
“Um, so, patrol then?” Xander asked, not able to stop staring at you much to Anya’s annoyance, leaving Buffy to take control. You would all descend on the graveyard in question together before splitting off into smaller groups to find the threat.
As you all walked towards one of Sunnydale’s many graveyards, you felt a few questioning glances on you and then on the tub you were holding. It was as if they were expecting you to turn on them at any moment. You slowly started to open the lid, their eyes widening in case they needed to fight.
“Oh! I brought snacks! Can’t patrol without cookies” You smiled, offering the younger group some homemade cookies, you had wanted to make a good impression. Spike rolled his eyes at your nature but took one for himself. They were his favourite kind and you had baked them with this in mind. Everyone delved into the tub you brought along with you, grinning wide, except Giles and Buffy. They were a little more wary of you.
Everyone was told to split up. Spike looked at you, silently threatening Buffy to try and split you both up. You and he took the west and the others squabbled among themselves for who would be with who. You left them to it. You walked for a little while, giggling and talking softly as you both were simultaneously hyper-aware of movement around you. Spike heard something and went behind an old mausoleum to check as you walked a little ahead slowly, so that he could catch up.
You were tough. A fighter. One with the elements. One thing that you never quite mastered, however, was the element of surprise. Instead, they had surprised you. Meaning you were caught without so much as a defensive stance at the ready.
“Get off!” You shouted as you were ambushed by several more. It had surprised you, usually you could handle it.
“Mm, this one’s for turning” one spoke as they kept your hands behind your back. One stroked your cheek, liking the fight you displayed. Spike ran up to them, having heard the struggle.
“You don’t lay a bloody finger on her, mate!” Spike shouted, anger lacing his voice, his temper would never cool with the vamps threatening you. Leering. Talking of siring you. Offering something so intimate. It was worse than propositioning sex.
He didn’t wait for the others, who were making their way towards the fight, he just took them on. They dropped you, but everything went slow motion. As you turned around, ready to fight alongside your love, they disappeared as if out of thin air with Spike.
You screamed bloody murder. Looking around, realising they had used some kind of transportation magic. You could feel it. Stupid cults and their powers. They were stronger because there was so many of them. You kicked the dirt where they had been only moments before in anger before turning to the rest of the group who had managed to get themselves over to where you were about two minutes too late. You couldn’t help snapping. Insulting Buffy, the supposed Slayer, for her horrible plan.
“Splitting up never works! You left him to be taken!” You stated, exasperated you had gone along with it just to be polite, “I’ll have to do it myself – here, hold my Tupperware” You start to get mad towards the real target, throwing the object towards Xander who catches it, eyes wide at your change in demeanour. How dare they take your Spike?!
You close your eyes, contacting the elements. Your fae ancestors working with you. You needed to find him and fast. You didn’t like the sound of being signed over to them yourself, much less your soulmate. You started to stalk off, trusting you were being pulled in the right direction. Knowing your ancestors approved of Spike, knew that you needed to be with him. You could tell the group was following you as you turned your pace into a run. You needed to get to him. Fast.
When you arrived at an abandoned warehouse, after a while of almost non-stop running to the outskirts of the town, you sensed there were seven. Seven horrible, evil beings holding your Spike hostage. This wouldn’t do. Couldn’t do. You needed him. You knew he would be fighting well himself, against whatever hold they had on him, but you needed to get in there. Giles tried to get you all to hang back, regroup. But you ignored him. There was a time and a place for pleasantries. You were probably older than him anyway in reality.
Instead, you charged in. A head start on everyone and you were faster than most. They had been torturing him for not breaking and joining them. They had started to threaten him with you, saying they would do worse to you. You saw Spike tied up, horrible angry wounds marked his body. His chest was bare, face bloody and not from a meal. It was his blood. This enraged you. Blood boiling thick and gelatinous in your veins. They had to pay. At a speed faster than the evil group could get their bearings, you were running at them fists raised.
You took the first three out with ease, working on pure rage. The next was more of a struggle as they rounded on you. Spike struggled against his restraints so he could join you in the fight, but he was weakened from the pain they had inflicted. You were tackled by one, restrained your arms above your head. You spat in the vamps face, kneeing him in the groin which loosened his hold on you enough to move from under him and dust him.
By the time you had recovered and were spinning into a brutal kick towards the fifth, the Scoobies had all made it into the warehouse behind you. Ready to fight. But you didn’t give them chance. You were working on pure rage. You took two long knives from your waistband, concealed in a way that not even Buffy had spotted as you cut the rest down mercilessly. Decapitating the final two and leaving them to turn to dust.
The scoobies stared in shock. Each mouth open wide in a mix of awe and horror. Half expecting you to turn on them. But you had no need to hurt them, for the most part they tolerated Spike. The day they didn’t and they started hurting him, was the day they should be scared (Spike had never told you the way Buffy had a tendency to beat him up for this very reason. You were strong, but taking on a Slayer would worry him too much – she tended to bounce back even after death).
You dusted your hands off, a satisfied little smile that Spike found adorable before your face drained, you needed to check on Spike. Tend to him. You rushed towards him, he had managed to escape the restraints while you distracted the group by, well, killing them. He had slid down the wall, sitting against it for support – the wounds still seeping blood and he appeared to be a little dazed. You were worried, his face had started to swell.
“Oh, sweetheart… look at you” tears started to well in your eyes at the state he was in. You wanted him well again. You leaned in, a small kiss pressed to his cut lips. The brief kiss telling him how proud you were to him for protecting you, how grateful you were to him and how much you loved him. Would always love him. You were a team and he was so glad you were there with him. Had come straight to get him. He wasn’t sure how long he would have lasted otherwise. He was just glad they had taken him instead of you. He would give himself time and again just so it had been him half-tortured rather than you.
Everyone appeared to have whiplash from your emotions running through so quickly. You had switched from sweet and caring to tough and scary before being back at caring again.
“Tupperware!” You shouted over to the boy who awkwardly fumbled with the tub and threw it back to you. You close your eyes, imagining what you needed to be in there before opening it and magically, it appeared just as you dreamt it. A first aid kit and a little herbal remedy for him to drink. It was items you had transported from your house into the tub. Your strengths were many.
You doted on him. Your touch so light, soothing. You never wanted to cause him pain. You cleaned him up, held him as much as you could without hurting him. The scoobies were at a loss. You were like two opposites, soft and gooey but with hard edges.
You took him back to your shared home, doting on him until he was well enough again. You snuggled up to him, caring for him and occasionally keeping the Scoobies happy (and away from Spike) by helping them instead of him out patrolling, putting his un-life at risk.
You didn’t want him in any danger, knowing that he would always protect you in the way you protected him.

Brice (x, x, x)
Buffysona bc I’m big gay.
Anyways, Brice is a vampire who’s only about a century old; he grew up and was turned in New York, though he lost his Sire to a Slayer. This left him at a loss for a while, since he was especially close to his Sire (like a father figure). Moving to Sunnydale to try to throw a little more excitement into his life, Brice met Spike for real after this move (he’d been vaguely aware of Spike before; he’d have to be living under a rock not to have heard about the vampire who killed a Slayer in New York). Though he’s maintained somewhat of a sense of honor (he won’t directly harm people he’s close to), he’s still a vampire— he’s still cruel.
He builds a friendship with a handful of the local vampires, Spike included, and after Spike and Dru split, he and Brice begin to sort-of date. Eventually it’s official, and Brice moves in with Spike. He loves doing things for/with Spike: painting Spike’s nails for him, watching soap operas together, etc. Spike helps him take care of his hair; cutting it, dying and styling it. Brice loves having his hair played with, so it’s so much fun for him to let Spike do it. He has a prosthetic arm, both that and his scar are from injuries sustained while human; he has to give humans credit for their advancements in prosthetics between 1861 and 1999. That won’t change his mind about them being food, though.
As Spike gets closer to some members of the Scooby Gang, so too does Brice. Though he can’t particularly stand Xander or Buffy, he’s probably closest to Giles— despite Spike’s opinion of the Watcher, he reminds Brice of his Sire. Brice also gets along pretty well with Anya, and he can tolerate Willow.

How are you liking the new season? I was following you a few years ago when Spike and Buffy were happily domestic in the comics and I miss them:( I haven’t read the new ones yet.. are they pretty in character even though it’s a reboot?
I’m actually having a lot of fun, it’s been pretty refreshing to see all these characters again but with a second chance at everything. There are only four issues (and a half) published so far, so the story is really just at the beginning, like I just watched a pilot episode – but became curious about the rest nonetheless. There's a lot of small changes in the circumstances that makes everything significantly different, but, as they are adapted in this new context, this has been revealing even more of the characters’ true selves.
For Spike, it seems like the biggest change for him is Drusilla, who was never traumatized into insanity by Angel nor tortured in Prague, so she has a lot more agency in their relationship. She acts as mean and commanding as she was in her worst moments in the TV series, but her sweet talking much less endearing and more threatening, so Spike is reduced to the humiliated Mistress’s pet who doesn’t like this position at all. This dynamics makes me curious about when he will finally snap and, who knows, join forces with the Slayer just like in the TV series. He already seemed a little sad while Drusilla promised the same things she once promised him when she was siring someone else. Spike also has a much darker and somber atmosphere in his ways of flirting – which he already did with Cordelia (and she loved it) – and stalking Buffy, similarly to his first appearance in “School Hard” before he took the role of sarcastic bitch, but still unable to show his glee while doing violence. I kind of worry where the story will go with Cordelia having a crush on him, but maybe it’s just so she’ll have more reasons to antagonize Buffy (obliviously defending him from Buffy like she already did, or even become jealous with the attention).
Angel has just arrived in Sunnydale (interacted just with Anya so far), so it seems like everything is about to change. And Robin (aka Principal Wood) is a student who just had his first date with Buffy, but nothing about his demon hunting activities has been revealed yet, so I don’t know what will be his role in this series or in anyone’s life.
Buffy is pretty much the same, just more accepting of the burden of the world in her shoulders. There’s this tweet from Terry Moore that explains a lot about her changes in this incarnation: “Today’s kids can’t relate to [Reluctant Hero themes]. They are a generation of real heroes facing daily mortal danger who do not hesitate to help each other because older gens won’t.” Indeed, Buffy blows her secret identity despite Giles’ long reprimands just to save two complete strangers (Willow and Xander), and convinces him that she needs actual guidance and not a set of unreachable rules. Buffy is also kind of a loner already, still learning to understand that counting on her enthusiastic new friends doesn’t mean failing. The only time she and Spike interacted was when they were about to fight, and he was very indifferent to Buffy – until he heard she was the Slayer. Drusilla, Willow, and Xander interrupted, so nobody actually fought. When he left, he told the Scoobies he was unimpressed with them, and that Slayers used to be “respectable and independent”, so this stung Buffy a bit. But that is all so far.
From a shipping perspective, I just expect these little moments of interaction to treasure, like in the TV series we had with the earlier episodes I’ll always rewatch. It’s still too soon for anything to happen between them – both due to Buffy’s age and a mutual confidence to be built –, so for now I’m just enjoying the ride.

Hey man, what’s a sire?
Some questions and headcanons about the Boomverse as it is now:
Spoilers for everything Boom!canon underneath the cut
Xander being able to tell Angel was looking at Buffy, and that he had a ‘vibe’ about him, was it solely because of his vampire intuition or the fact that he’s of Angel’s line now? Angel being his great grandfather vamp -- and in 2019 I can type those words. My god, what a time to be alive.
What kind of doctor is Eric? Pediatrics? General? Foot?
When did Willow meet Rose?
Is Rose Latine? Is she the one who gave Willow the bruja tee-shirt?
Where are Fred’s parents? Are they the ones who admitted her to the mental ward?
Bets on Mara and Gunn’s sister popping back up.
Buffy owes Anya a favor, when is she going to collect? Is it tied directly to the Hellmouth - the timing seems suspicious, and Dru said that Anya moved to Sunnydale for a reason.
Is the other Big Bad behind the Hellmouth opening the Watcher’s Council? After all, they have Robin as their informant, who knows Buffy’s the Slayer. And Kendra is coming - so is Buffy dying, or is there a way to activate another Slayer without it involving death? What’s the mythos going to be?
Speaking of Robin, what’s his whole deal - besides track captain by day, Watcher informant by night?
Or is Anya the Big Bad?
Sekhmet is the Egyptian goddess of war and also healing - her duality is interesting when you consider the major women of the Buffyverse -Buffy, the warrior, Willow the witch (but gave half her soul to heal), Jenny, the protector/healer - who sets off the events that lead to the war. And of course Dru, who starts the war by stabbing her lover in the chest with it.
Xander and Willow’s parents seem as clueless/negligent as they are in TV canon - I don’t think Xander’s parents are as overtly abusive as they are in the TV canon though. There is a certain expected level of subterfuge during the teen years, but Xander’s new diet ‘upgrades’ and Willow’s witchcraft not going noticed by their parents does suggest powerful Sunnydale syndrome going on.
Joyce knows something is going on with Buffy, just not what it exactly is. With the addition of Eric, she seems more supported and content though.
Did Buffy ever go back to her part time job?
What happened to Xander’s blog? I kind of miss it. And now he’s half-vampire! That warrants at least a post or two.
Does Giles just show up at the open mic night at the cafe or does he have some agreed casual residency with the owner?
Buffy would absolutely enjoy the Untitled Goose Game.
Xander has already bought them tickets to The Rise of Skywalker.
Buffy hasn’t gotten a new phone yet.
She is also notoriously bad at replying to comments.
How bad is the bureaucracy at the Watcher’s Council, anyway? Letting an ally/tool like Camazotz just be lost in the dusty corners of Anya’s shop --or maybe there was follow up, and there were unfortunate “accidents.”
Harmony is oddly clairvoyant, what with her dreams about Sunnydale being swallowed up by a great fire pit (issue #3) and it turns out she’s a Potential.
Speaking of clairvoyants, what’s the deal with Fee Fee? Or was she just a one - off character and Lilith is going to be the Source for Angel from now on?
Tamara the barista knows Buffy’s order and has it ready as soon as she sees her come in.
Nine more days until HELLMOUTH!

Buffy rewatch: Lies My Parents Told Me (7.17)
even when he was a punk, spike still was more bitch than punk. That outfit looks so forced on him
nicky’s such an interesting character. Compare and contrast with buffy, who preferred sacrificing herself than letting dawn die. For her the mission is not 100% first priority but it makes her life so much more difficult
buffy says apocalypses where she doesn’t die are easy, but I feel like s1 apocalypse was easier than most others
I really love giles’s outburst at the state of the library. That man is The Best ™
The trigger and the chip and the soul sounds so much either like a bad joke or like the title of some old tale.
That little bug thingy they want to put in spike’s head has launched so many nightmare I’m telling you. This is awful
i understand so little about English poetry, but I know there is no way this can sound good to anyone else. William’s mom is just full of shit
this definitely is the most incest-y episode btvs has ever done. Is it more incest-y than ats s4, though??? Who knows???
This episode could have been called “momma’s boys”
anya just is the best. I’ve never heard “forgiveness makes us human” sounding so good
isn’t fred calling willow spoilering the end of the latest angel episode a bit?? I love how Andrew dares calling anyone effeminate though
dru is, as always the best, telling a mother “I’m the one who gave birth to your son” this is just so Extra
are you sure buffy doesn’t need to worry about a soulless angel??? Really, willow?? I get it’s all because they’re not on the same channel, yaddy yadda, but still!
please, giles, don’t conspire against buffy’s wishes!! “and this has nothing to do with personal vengeance?” a good question to ask, the answer is a bit obvious but whatever let’s go with wood’s lame answer
I wish we’d heard the inspiring speech buffy gave the telephone repairman
Spike is so mean, talking about wood “letting his hair down”. I told you he was a bitch
if wood wasn’t about to try and kill spike, you’d think he was coming on to him. spike is definitely half scared half aroused
even soulless, spike has always been so sweet, wanting to stay with his mom?? Like, angelus actually ate his family. I don’t know how it works. Is the demon that take over your body when you get sired dependent on your own personality, or is it random?
I don’t believe buffy when she says she would let dawn die nowadays. Like, really??
i like that even as an evil vampire, spike still objected to incest. Can you believe that guy was known for being the worst, when he’s all along been the best
the reason spike is not as plagued by guilt and need for redemption as angel is simply cause he was generally less bad as a vamp. most of the hype around him was just that if you want my opinion.
Richard the random vamp is quite a fun guy, wish buffy had kept him as a pet
I love how this episode was basically buffy refusing men to make decisions in her stead. I love giles with all my heart, but he did kinda deserve that harsh ending. he’s a loving father so I know they’ll get over it

Stray thoughts
1) If the fact that Spike was feeding and turning people wasn’t enough of a clue that something was amiss, then him humming a lullaby while digging graves most certainly was.
2) I love that whenever we hear a British man speaking in this show we immediately know he’s a watcher. Side note, this watcher was totally shacking up with his slayer, right?
3) Okay, so Dawn told Willow all about seeing “Joyce” but she didn’t disclose Joyce’s warning about Buffy. Willow then proceeds to tell her that she’d seen someone, too, but it was the Big Bad. Dawn, understandably, convinces herself that Joyce couldn’t have been an evil manifestation. I get why her first reaction is to believe she’d seen her mom. She’s a kid who’s had a rough two years, whose mom died suddenly, who was almost sacrificed to open up a portal to a hell dimension, whose sister killed herself shortly after, and who spent hours in a bedroom with the body of her stand-in mom before anyone came to check on either of them. Joyce represents the normalcy and stability her life is lacking, so it’s absolutely understandable she’s so eager to believe she’s seen her mom. What I don’t get is why – other than because it suited the writers’ purpose – she didn’t talk about this with Buffy (even if she didn’t feel like opening up about the actual warning...) and why it was never brought up again (that I remember, at least.) I’ve talked about this in my previous recap, but I must hand it to The First, it played its cards right by manipulating Dawn. She was the only one who 100% bought the lies, and the fact that she didn’t discuss this any further – especially not with Buffy – and that she kept believing her “mom”’s warning all along had far-reaching consequences. Dawn was probably the only character not mature enough to realize she was being duped. Joyce/The First warned Dawn that “when it's bad, Buffy won't choose you. She'll be against you.” Not only does this warning foreshadow what will come to happen in Empty Places, but it is the precise reason why that happens, except that the roles are reserved: when things get bad, Dawn won’t choose Buffy, she’ll be against her…
4) I do appreciate that Xander truly tries to be objective here and to see things from a purely rational perspective. It’s a very nice change of pace from his “slay first, ask questions later approach”, and it is in fact exactly what Buffy needed. Emotionally, she can’t bring herself to believe Spike’d be able to be killing people while having a soul. I think the church scene from Beneath You is what drives Buffy to believe having a soul has truly changed him. Of course, she’s letting herself be driven by her emotions (which, btw, we know are her strength…) So it was necessary for her to hear the voice of reason. And I’m grateful for the fact that Xander was actually written as a reasonable voice of reason - unlike what they did with his speech to Buffy in Into the Woods… where we were supposed to buy into what he was saying (he didn’t even have all the fact!) and take his word as the voice of reason.
*gets herself angry at remembering Into the Woods*
*breathes furiously*
*tries to calm self down*
*watches videos of puppies*
*resumes writing*
Anywho, this is their exchange in this episode:
XANDER Why would a vampire lie about who sired him. What's that? Some kind of status symbol for the undead. My sire can beat up your sire. (sits)
BUFFY I'm not saying I don't believe him.
XANDER You just don't want to. OK, let's look at this objectively. Figure it out in a cold, impersonal, CSI-like manner 'cause we're a couple of carpet fibers away from a case.
BUFFY Spike can't be the one doing this. He couldn't if he wanted to.
XANDER Why not?
BUFFY Well, for one thing, pain chip, remember? He can't hurt anyone.
XANDER Didn't stop him from hurting you. Hey, objective here. Maybe the chip's not working anymore.
BUFFY Oh, it's working. I've seen it.
XANDER Is it? Or is that what Spike wants you to think?
BUFFY You think it's an act?
XANDER I don't really know. And neither do you.
BUFFY No, mm-mmm. There's something. I-I can feel it. He's different. He's changed. And, if it is an act, then the Oscar goes to...
I just appreciate the fact that he was trying to help Buffy see the situation from every angle, instead of taking a stand and only viewing the evidence that would support her belief.
5) These two truly had a very lively sex life…
XANDER You're gonna be fine.
ANYA Better be, because if I get vamped, I'm gonna bite your ass.
XANDER Wouldn't be the first time.
ANYA What was that?
6)  And this is exactly why they should’ve talked to Dawn more about the whole seeing Joyce thing…
WILLOW Buffy, this thing knows us. It made us think that we were talking to people we knew. Mine said it came with a message from Tara. But Dawn actually saw... your Mother. This thing—it had me for a while—I mean, before it started letting loose with the pulse-pounding terror. But before that, the lies were very convincing. It just seems real.
BUFFY Lies.
WILLOW I mean maybe—maybe to confuse us, to mess us up. Or maybe just to be cool.
Unfortunately, Buffy was too concerned with the urgent issue of a potential serial killer vampire on the loose to take the time to talk to her sister. She should have done it, though. I mean, even if she assumed Dawn had understood what she’d seen wasn’t real, Buffy should’ve known that seeing Joyce again, even if it was a fake Joyce, probably had messed her up. I think that Buffy not approaching Dawn about this probably fed Dawn’s belief that she’d seen the real Joyce.
7) Sweet Jebus, this man…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
8) Bless Anya.
SPIKE Anya, do be specific and tell a fellow just exactly what you're doing here.
ANYA Well, Spike... I'm here, obviously... for...um...sex.
SPIKE Uh, beg pardon.
ANYA You and me. Here and now. Let's go. Let's... get it on, you big bad boy.
SPIKE Wait, wait, Anya. Just a minute. This is not exactly—is that a stake?
ANYA Yes. Kinky.
SPIKE Uh, well, yeah, but what do you—?
ANYA Shh. No questions. No talking. I can't help it. I can't stop thinking about you and us and our brief but unforgettable time together. I mean, it's—why else would I be here? I mean, it's not like I'm snooping around looking for proof that you're some sort of wacked out serial killer. I don't know why I said that. Forget I said that. It's craziness talking. It's just nerves. Nerves. Nerves and-and horniness. Oh, just shut up, William, and take me. Take me now.
I think... I think she looks kind of riled up and disappointed he didn’t take her up on her offer?
9) Where do all this people come from? This street has never been this crowded! Sunnydale doesn’t have that big of a population!
Tumblr media
SERIOUSLY!!!
Tumblr media
Like, I get it, they needed the streets to be super crowded so that it would be believable for Buffy to lose track of Spike, but THIS IS NOT BELIEVABLE! A) My point above and B) any citizen of Sunydale who isn’t as dumb as a brick won’t go out at night!!!
10) Awww, Buffy woke him up by throwing him across the room just like in the old days…
11) I had to stop writing during this scene, I was simply enthralled by James’ delivery of each of his lines. I truly don’t think Spike would’ve been a redeemable character if it hadn’t been for James’ portrayal. He brings so much emotion into every word and every gesture, and it truly makes you feel for the character. Well, unless you hate Spike, of course.
SPIKE Well, I certainly didn't off her. Where are you getting this? (grabs a shirt) You know I can't.
BUFFY Right. The chip.
SPIKE No, not the chip! Not the chip, dammit. You honestly think I'd go to the end of the underworld and back to get my soul and then— Buffy, I can barely live with what I did. It haunts me. All of it. If you think that I would add to the body count now, you are crazy.
SPIKE Yeah, I talk to people. Women. Talk to them 'cause I can't talk to you.
BUFFY Oh, Spike, save it.
SPIKE As daft a notion as "Soulful Spike the Killer" is, it is nothing compared to the idea that another girl could mean anything to me. This chip—they did to me. I couldn't help it. But the soul, I got on my own—for you.
BUFFY I know.
SPIKE So, yeah. I go and pass the time... with someone. But that's all it is is time, 'cause—God, help me, Buffy—it's still all about you.
12) FYI, If you don’t remember what you’ve done the night before, that’s a BIG FAT warning sign.
13) I get that Willow’s line is meant to feed Dawn’s belief that she did, in fact, talk to Joyce, but this just doesn’t make any sense?????
DAWN You only think Spike is turning people 'cause that vampire told you so, right? But that night we were all told things that weren't true.
WILLOW Maybe.
DAWN What? What maybe.
WILLOW Well, just because those weren't the spirits of, you know, our people—just because it was some evil thing, doesn't mean what they said can't be true.
Like, why would the Big Bad disclose information that might actually help them????
14) The music choice for this episode is so absolutely perfect, I mean, Pavlov’s Bell? Accurate AF.
15) She’s a quick learner, right?
YOUNG WOMAN Huh. I get it. You'd rather I slip into something more comfortable. Should we pick off the crowd one-by-one, or block the exits and ravish the place?
SPIKE Get away from me.
YOUNG WOMAN What's with the wallflower act? You didn't seem so shy when you were biting me. I'm not asking if you wanna be soul mates, just figured you'd wanna have some fun. I take him, you take her—or the other way around. Whatever.
I love how this scene is reminiscent of Spike and Drusilla prowling the Bronze in Crush, except this time Spike does not want to play.
16) This fucking show.
YOUNG WOMAN Is that all I was to you—a one-bite stand?
17) I swear to god. THIS. FUCKING. SHOW.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
18)
BUFFY Oh, uh, actually, I need some help. I'm looking for this guy. Bleach-blonde hair, leather jacket, British accent? Kind of sallow, but in a hot way?
BOUNCER Yeah, yeah, I know the guy. Billy Idol wannabe?
BUFFY Actually, Billy Idol stole his look from—never mind. Has he been here?
19) This. Fucking. Show.
AIMEE MANN Man, I hate playing vampire towns
I just love the fact that she uses the plural, “towns” like she’s fucking aware Sunnydale is not the only town infested with vampires.
It’s so amazing to see a regular someone supposedly not in the know – after 7 freaking seasons! – acknowledge the supernatural because even though it’s a staple of the genre that people are ignorant of the paranormal or choose to find more “rational” explanations for every odd occurrence, sometimes they just end up looking very dumb.
20) And this is why The First was kind of a dumb Big Bad, like, how couldn’t he have known that tasting Buffy would have the opposite effect on Spike?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
21) It’s really heartbreaking that Spike not only assumes that Buffy is going to stake him but he welcomes it, I think he wants the pain to end and wants an easy way out from the things he’s done (that’s why he pleads for her - or it? - to “make him forget”)
22) Buffy reads the situation right, though. She understands that someone or something has been using Spike as a puppet and that killing him won’t really accomplish anything other than doing exactly what it wants them to do.
23) I gotta admit, I’d be Xander in this situation…
BUFFY You didn't see him down there. He really didn't know what he'd done. It wasn't in his control.
XANDER Oh, an out of control serial killer. You're right, that is a great houseguest.
24) I love how they’re talking as if he was deaf or not there, and he’s obviously listening to every single word they're saying. HE IS SITTING RIGHT THERE FOR FUCK’S SAKE!!!
Tumblr media
Sorry, I just hate when they do that on shows or movies, okay?
25) Cliffhanger! IS GILES DEAD! DUN-DUN-DUNNNN!
Tumblr media
There’s no fucking way Giles would’ve survived that, okay? I mean, I’m glad he’s alive, but they probably should’ve faded to black BEFORE the axe was about to chop his head off. Just seeing the demon brandishing the axe would’ve done the trick, and then it wouldn’t have felt as they were retconning the scene.
26) This is not a great episode. It’s not bad, either, but I feel the reveal that Spike was killing again and the why he was doing it should’ve been placed further apart (although I understand they were trying to get people to like Spike again, so that might’ve been detrimental to that purpose…) I don’t know, there’s something that just doesn’t work about this episode. The scenes between Buffy and Spike are great, but the whole episode feels somewhat disjointed. What do you think? Is this when season 7 started to go south?
27) If you’ve got this far, thank you for reading! If you enjoy my recaps and my blog, please consider supporting my blog on ko-fi. Thanks!

Buffy finds out!
So, uh, Buffy finally finds out that Spike has a thing for her.
Basically, after another night of hanging in the Bronze (having been repaired from the troll attack a couple of episodes ago) and Spike awkwardly hanging out with them, a train rolls into town and it’s got a few dead people in it, attacked and drained of blood.
Dawn goes off on her own for a bit, and it turns out that she thinks Spike is pretty cool and goes to hang out with him. When Buffy finds her, she’s upset and is surprised to find out that Dawn has a crush on Spike. But Dawn tells her that no matter what it isn’t as if Spike would do anything with her, because he’s obsessed with Buffy, which catches her completely unawares.
She investigates the train with Xander, but finds nothing, not even the doll hinting that Drusilla’s back. Buffy tells Xander what Dawn told her, and he thinks it’s hilarious because Spike’s...well, he’s Spike. No way that would ever work. Buffy comes back home to find that her mom is talking to Dawn...and Spike, and Spike thinks he’s got a lead on the vampires who did the train thing. Except when they’re on stakeout, and they see the vampires and storm into the abandoned warehouse...they’re not the ones they’re looking for. Buffy deduces that this is Spike’s idea of a date and Spike admits to Buffy’s face that he’s in love with her. She just walks out because that’s kind of gross.
But when Spike gets back home, Drusilla is waiting. She tells him everything that’s going on in Angel (which I have not watched so most of that went over my head) and that the whole thing with the chip in his brain is psychological more than anything else. She helps him get over it so he can kill people again. They go to hang out and do vampire things.
Buffy, after telling Willow and her mom what happened, decides the best course of action is to go and confront Spike and shut this whole thing down. She also tells Willow to do something while she’s out, but we don’t find out what just yet. But when Buffy goes to Spike’s place, she finds his underground lair and his...creeper cave. There are tons of pictures of Buffy, along with the mannequin that’s dressed up like her. Before she can leave, Spike and Drusilla come back, and Spike knocks her out.
When Buffy wakes up, she’s chained up, but so is Drusilla. Spike offers to kill Drusilla to prove that he loves Buffy, but when she’s adamantly refusing that there’s anything between them, he says he’ll free Dru and let her kill Buffy. Buffy still rejects him, and then Harmony, who Spike broke up with when Drusilla reappeared, shoots Spike in the back with a crossbow, leading to a fight, Drusilla gets free, Spike beats back Harmony, frees Buffy. Drusilla leaves, heartbroken, Harmony officially dumps Spike and Buffy immediately shuts down Spike again. And, as it turns out, through Willow (I think?), Spike’s invitation into the Summers house is rescinded, meaning that he can’t enter it anymore.
Notes!
-Alright I like that Buffy is more disturbed than anything by the revelation that Spike’s obsessively infatuated with her. It makes more sense than any other reaction. Spike is...kind of a creep. And even going beyond the lurking around outside her house and being awkward at trying to start conversations and spending time with her (which is understandable), there’s the creepy stalker shrine he’s got to her in his cave (which is not understandable or okay AT ALL). Maybe she should have let him down gently when she first heard about it? But her reaction made sense and was sympathetic to me, even if I’m baffled that she had no idea about this until now.
-I mean, really. How did she not know this? Spike tried to kiss her. And he’s constantly around offering to provide help unasked. That takes a special kind of clueless.
-Spike gets envious when he sees Buffy talking/flirting with Ben the hospital intern at the Bronze. Which...like I assumed he was a love interest, rather than being the alter-ego of the Big Bad. Maybe he’s both? Maybe the show’s just screwing with me.
-So we see Harmony dressed up as/roleplaying as Buffy for Spike and that’s a thing I really didn’t need to know about at all.
-Hey it’s a good thing that crossbow bolt that Harmony shoots Spike with doesn’t hit the heart, like every other piece of vaguely sharp wood does in every other vampire that’s not Spike or Angel.
Anya: Xander, I think you may have hurt his feelings.
Xander: And you should never hurt the feelings of a brutal killer. [ponders] You know, that's, uh, that's actually some pretty good advice.
-Also Spike steals Xander’s money to pay for drinks? Like I get that he’s not a good guy but if he’s trying to play at being presentable for Buffy, maybe dial back the kleptomania a bit?
-So I guess the Chip in Spike’s Brain plot is over now? Okay. It was getting old, but that was anticlimactic.
-If Drusilla, with her psychic powers, already knew that Spike was in love with Buffy, why did she come back? Was she hoping to win back Spike and that they’d go along their merry murdering way? OR did she just want to see for herself? Does Drusilla, at this point, in her own twisted way, still love Spike?
-I suppose the big question, which Buffy herself asks in this episode, is this: can vampires love people? Spike points out that Angel did, but he had his soul put back. Vampires are, by their nature, demonic spirits in human bodies. The show’s displayed that things labeled as ‘demons’ are not, by nature, evil, but they’ve also made ‘demon’ such a broad category as to be kind of useless to showing moral alignment. As I understand it, most ‘demons’ are beings of extra-dimensional origin that are generally hostile to humanity but not necessarily evil in any other sense.
And like, Spike’s fixation with Buffy is pretty...uh, creepy. It’s obsession, and it’s attraction, but I don’t know if I’d call that ‘love.’ Likewise, there seems to be some sort of bond between vampire and the one who ‘sired’ them, so I don’t know if Spike and Drusilla’s relationship was really love or a really intense and sexualized version of that relationship.
So I don’t know!
-What do we call this? Buffy seems to like Ben, but Spike likes Buffy, but there’s also Drusilla and Harmony….a love pentagon? Harmony’s out though, so a square?
