(it's an animated show on youtube and it's super good!! it's about Totally Normal™ rival food trucks except one of them is run by an alien clown who was banished from his home planet for getting stage fright during a production of cats the musical and the other one is run by a 1000-year-old zombie bounty hunter who is also italian. there's only about an hour's worth of content between all the current eps/songs and it has me grasped by the scruff of the neck like a misbehaving kitten)

cesare is a converted oil-burning steamer who used to be a passenger engine once upon a time before getting stuck on freight duty. he's lowkey pissed about essentially getting demoted and goes out of his way to cause problems on purpose - he's extremely petty and WILL slow down whenever he sees a passenger train so they can't pass due to freight having right of rail! has a one-sided rivalry going on with renown tourist train 'the bigtop' (they're more baffled by his antics than anything else tbh)
he got a little fucked up during the conversion process so he'll leak oil from his eyes/mouth sometimes, it's gross </3 his crew doesn't really care tho since they're freight so they're used to grime

he totally does NOT care about his freight so what if he makes them sleep in his stall during bad weather so he can keep an eye on them to make sure they're safe it doesn't mean ANYTHING shut up.

doctor is a gondola! he usually carries junk/scrap metal. he'll do that social experiment thing where if you hand someone something while talking to them they'll take it without even thinking. you're having a conversation with him and suddenly you're holding a copy of the atari E.T. game
he'll save things that he thinks are neat or that the others will like! expresses affection by giving you garbage :)
is totally unfazed by the rotary dumper (it freaks everyone else out), very skilled at heckling coaches, and will eat human food (what is wrong with him)

conrad is a hazmat tanker and he wears goggles for safety :) why is a short-line carrying hazardous material? don't worry about it. he's v big and v strong and a lil dumb but doing his best! will pick up frances and doctor and carry them around sometimes
he'll also drink his load if he thinks he can get away with it (he is not sneaky starlight bless him). man chugs hydrochloric acid like powerade. kind of scared of humans, they creep him out a bit

she'll hack into other train's radio frequencies and eavesdrop/interrupt/pass along the hot gossip to everyone else. she'll also tune into stations and sing along to songs sometimes (cesare will tell her to cut that shit out and then 3 seconds later ask if she can get anything italian)

Hi! I’m just a little Panic! fan who’s listening to the new album and wants to share my little opinions even though no one cares 🥰 Let’s go!
Viva Las Vengeance
Okay this was the first song released and I played it about 30 times in the first 24 hours. I unironically fell in love with it- I loved the beat, the instrumentals, and though the lyrics were nonsense (like all others) I could understand them and enjoyed singing them.
Middle Of A Breakup
This song was… kinda bad ngl. I really wanted to like it but the lyrics were kinda trash (except for a few lines). The “oh shit you’re kissing my neck” part makes me physically cringe EVERY time because what even is this??? Needed a filler real bad 💀 It’s still a bop but I’m probs gonna say that about most of this album because I’m a sucker and don’t like disliking stuff. Doesn’t stop it from getting stuck in my head though-
Don’t Let The Light Go Out
I definitely liked this more than MOAB and Local God, though the verses felt a little rushed and still too high pitched, compared to the vibe the song was going after. And the way the chorus went all quiet and musicless and slow-paced threw me off a bit but oh well. I’d listen to it while driving in the rain.
Local God
It’s an okay song, but it lowkey annoys me LMAO. Maybe it’s just the way he says “local god” but I wanted to punch him in the face fr. I didn’t catch most of the lyrics but I think I just wasn’t paying attention- but I got the general vibe and it’s not awful.

BRENDON BESTIE WHAT IS THIS. THE CHORUS IS SO RANDOM AND UNINTELLIGIBLE AND WE CAN BARELY HEAR YOU. AND WHY ARE YOU TRYING TO RAP THE VERSES LMAOOO. AND THE SLOW “HOME OF THE FREAKS” AT THE END OF EACH VERSE IS NOT IT.

Okay I can see why people are saying it’s a Bohemian Rhapsody rip-off- he didn’t even try to hide it 💀 Even this “slow-ish” song feels rushed and- wait why is it making clicky sounds- WHAT IS THIS SOUND LOL. If this man sings another high-note I swear- You’re tryna do that gritty thing but it’s not working 💀 Want a throat lozenge?

First two lines really calling yourself out huh- THE SELF-MADE ECHO MADE ME CRY LMAO. Brendon the music covers up ur voice so much what are you even saying SAY IT LOUDER. This is such a mess I’m shaking and crying rn. The chorus has an good beat (rhythm? Idk I like how it sounds) but the lyrics- hm. This slow part does not go at ALL what was he trying to to LMAO. I like the little piano (I think) in the background tho that’s cool.

Okay I like this more than the others so far, I like the soft thing he’s doing with his voice. Okay I heard 10 seconds of this yesterday and I think I’m going to like it so let’s see🤞🏻 “LEAVE ME ALOOOONE” BROSKI SOUNDS LIKE UR SINGING “INTO THE UNKNOWN” AGAIN LMAOOO. Okay nvm literally the only line I like is “your majesty’s magnificent, my tragedy is imminent” it’s literally the only good-sounding line WHY WASN’T MORE OF IT LIKE THIS HUH :( Every time he screams “I’m crying” I expect him to break out Local God again LMAO. “Is this all there is?!” made me wanna neck ngl I cringed 💀 Again, this slow part is NOT IT.

“You sweet little kitten” STOPSTOPSOTPSOTP- Again, too many words in verses, or trying to sing too fast. Take a breather my dude. And the chorus- it’s a clear rip-off of the original but it doesn’t fit with the song at ALL. I like what he’s trying to do with his voice but he’s failing lol. I want more soft/slow lyrics/songs :( “It’s you and me~” alright Kate Bush 💀 And AGAIN he’s trying to do the gritty thing but FAILING.
Do It To Death
I like the music at the beginning. Why do “give it a try” and “before we die” sound like they’re from Grease LMFAO. Okay this isn’t as bad as the others so far I’ll give it that- nvm where did the music go 💀 Bestie you’re AT the limit and had surpassed your stay- Nvm this just sounds like such a try hard song lmao I’m not a fan. Now it’s slow and dramatic and for WHAT. OMG NO HE DID NOT. NO YOU SHUT UP. I SEE WHAT YOU WERE TRYNA DO BUT IT JUST SOUNDED LIKE THE SONG CUT OUT AND ACCIDENTALLY STARTED PLAYING VIVA LAS VENGEANCE 💀
Overall:
Look, I went into this as a hardcore Panic! fan prepared to force myself to like these and defend them and bop along to them- but this was actual dogshit. As previously stated there were a few songs that I genuinely enjoyed and would listen to again but most of these were straight up PAINFUL. And they don’t sound like Panic! at ALL. And I know not every album has to/will sound the same and I don’t expect them to, but they all had a vibe, y’know? A Panic! vibe. Just enough uniqueness and boppiness and drama and angst for it to WORK. Pretty. Odd. and Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die both sound COMPLETELY different but they both sound distinctly like Panic! in ways I’m not smart enough to explain. This did not.
I’m a full on proper Panic! fan and this album was incredibly disappointing to me. I know I’m sounding really mean and negative here but I promise it’s just for the funny 😭 I don’t hate Brendon or anything. And if you enjoy the album then I support you 100%! It’s just not my cup of tea :) But I’m not giving up hope!

Hi! I just saw your post about how you feel like you are falling out of love with EAW and can I just say: SAME. I lowkey feel personally betrayed because they made me care for all these characters and now I have to see them throw their story out the window for some melodrama bs?! IN THE LAST TWO EPISODES?! Like how is this gonna work out? I was one of the people saying ´Oh there is no way they will pull a 2521 (in terms of unsatisfying and rushed endings) on this one´. I feel like a clown.

Y E S !!!! absolutely it’s the betrayal that is getting to us. i love angst but it has to make logical sense, to the characters and plots. needlessly throwing the whole sickness thing with atty. jung was cruel. even if he magically survives there’s still this heavy feeling in my chest because youngwoo clearly stated the life expectancy. i knew that eaw might become angsty but i had thought the writing wouldn’t be such a hot mess
all of us were clowned on. i was half joking earlier in the drama but was saying it mostly as a joke. it doesn’t even feel like eaw?? idk if you watch sageuk’s/historicals but they always do this weird tonal shift that feels out of place. it comes out of no where and feels like a punch to the gut. eaw is making us all into clowns rn for truly thinking they would sidestep the cliches like they did with the first half
2521 + eaw has pretty much broken my trust in my writers. i’m gonna need to extensively research all the dramas i watch beforehand just to make sure it’s not going to break me in half

help me make a decision i'm currently double majoring in media studies and english and considering dropping english here's my pro con list
pros of dropping
i can make it a minor and then also minor in studio art and then get to mostly take art classes my senior year
i'm not a bad writer but i am the most chronic procastinator i know and get scarily worked up over writing assignments because i can't physically bring myself to do them for days at a time for some godforsaken reason and the idea of having to do a big final thesis project both semesters senior year kind of makes me want to walk into the ocean
i have an idea for my media studies thesis but absolutely nothing for english
i would have to take three english classes + capstone next year which is an entire semester's worth of english
if i dropped english my schedule next semester would only include one major writing class and it would be my media capstone class so i wouldn't have to worry about anything else
neutral fact
my mom was an english major who always regretted not taking art classes in college bc it was what she wanted to do as a kid so i think it would make her really happy if i took more art classes (but it would also make her happy to see me major in english!)
cons of dropping
my media studies focus is film/media STUDIES not production and i'm worried that it's going to make my resume look like i'm interested in production
add on to that i have no idea what i want to do career-wise but afaik as much as it's clowned on an english major is actually pretty versatile when it comes to like a lot of soft skills jobs while afaik media studies is a little less so? i might be making this up
add on to THAT my extracurricular section sucks ass aka my resume is lame as hell rn and i feel like having 'double major' on it is doing a lot of work
i would always wonder what would have happened if i didn't drop it aka i always thought i would major in english as a kid
lowkey think i might be like. a little mentally unwell and i don't want to make a decision i'll regret based on like baseless worry (i've been thinking about this for like a year but i've also been in a weird place since i started college so)
either way i won't be able to fit in any freebie classes, it's either i'm taking four english classes next year or i'm taking four art classes
basically i'm trying to balance having a decent resume and having a courseload next year that won't make me want to kill myself
