Reunited with her owner recently, here's Delta the Cat!
Delta was memorialized as a disarticulated skeleton. Her little old lady jaw bones exhibit a touch of deformity, possibly osteomyelitis, which prevented me from gluing both halves back together. Even so, she made a lovely preservation for her human family

a friend and I found 3 opossum skeletons in just my backyard the other day! all of them had to have died this winter, otherwise i would have noticed them while they were still fleshy. I cant wait to get them all cleaned up!!

unfortunately i found this lil gopher in my grandparent’s pool. its about to be pool season again soon, so i checked under the pool cover to see what the pool’s looking like after over wintering. sadly the pool cover and pool fence can only do so much. it was very very very much a water logged carcass, so it was pretty easy to free up this skull. ive never done maceration before though, so any tips on this method are greatly appreciated. i have the skull sitting in a covered and vented container of water right now. i was thinking about going at the rest of the tissue with a brush and then a hypodermic needle to flush out the matter inside, and then degreasing after.
i had no interest in the rest of the carcass also its too small for the cage covering my rot plot, so it has been put to rest among weeds and wildflowers in the over grown and unkept plot of yard it most likely inhabited. thank you little gopher for your life and your skull, I’m so sorry you couldn’t find your way out from under the pool cover.

I've been sick for awhile and I'm finally feeling decent enough so i took the chance to pull this gal out of my rot bucket! she was a young badger that was shot & given to me. (I also preserved her face and am in the process of preserving her paws. the rest of the body I left in a feild for other wildlife & nature to benefit from. ^_^ )
she is currently being degreased now! I'm looking forward to putting her skull back together, I'm pretty sure I didnt lose any teeth during maceration but I'll find out later.
just a little disclaimer - she was not shot for the purpose of preserving her bones/hide/etc, she was shot to protect other animals on the farm and kids. I usually don't like taking animals that were shot for reasons other than hunting (specifically for food) or euthanasia, however it does make me feel better than I can still appreciate her in death & was able to give most of her body back for the ecosystem. unfortunately for this animal she was killed just for being in the wrong place. rest easy in badger heaven 🦡 <3

The skull of a squirrel I macerated, found dead in one of my window wells. Really cool project but working with something so fragile made me nervous lmao

Pieces i made yesterday!!
Deer jawbone sleep charm (not a dreamcatcher! That's a closed practice)
Squirrel skull with some teeth. The front top and bottom chomper still intact and the lower jaws
Both handmade and hand-cleaned by me. The skull didn't want to whiten which was fine by me. It's clean and lovely as is.
