Uuuughhhh! I hate explaining things again. Okay. So due to the Ninjamuffin99 situation in which Ninja made a terrible joke that quickly escalated to people looking through his Newgrounds likes and finding things that are.....unfavorable....is all I can say.

I redesigned the FNF characters. (Minus Pico, cuz he's not an FNF character and has existed WAY LONGER before FNF was even conceived. So he won't be changed all that much.)

However, this is the first draft. I wasn't satisfied with it so I re-did Brayden/Boyfriend.

Brayden goes by They/Them since they are non-binary. I made a poll on Twitter for this decision cuz i liked the idea of BF being non-binary.

Yes. They can still be referred to as Boyfriend. Just that they mainly prefer They/Them pronouns.

I will redesign Cherry soon since her current design looks boring TvT

I'm announcing this cause I don't want ya'll to suddenly be shocked when I post comics and BF looks very different.

The reason for the design change is due to FNF community's current state and my paranoia of it getting worse. These characters are my massive comfort, my creativity, and has helped me through tough times. I don't want to give up on drawing em over Ninja's bad decisions.

Thus I made this AU so that I can take these characters out of the fandom if things do get worse.

Whether or not this change is permanent will entirely depend IF the FNF crew, Ninja, and Phantom make a response of the situation and from there, here's to hoping things do get better.

Cuz....not gonna lie.....BF's my comfort character, and it feels.....weird...to not draw him.

This is just me expressing how I feel btw. NOT being heartless of a bad situation.

Anyways. That's all.

Oh. And I'll still be using FNF tags since technically they are AUs. Whether or not that'll change depends on the future.

Ok pico time.

He and Oliver/piconjo get mistaken slot, not for their appearance but because their last names are v similar, aka elderwood and Longwood specifically.

Bullied alot, mainly by Cyril and the Provoker. He gets called carrot top alot by them both, so much so that the other goth kids use that nickname more often than 'prick-o'.

He and Otis are incredibly close. Otis watches movies with him everytime Otis gets a new one from gibbons, they also go out together and visit places of interest.

Picos schizophrenia manifests as hallucinations and voices. He percieves the area around him as familiar but off, it makes people he cares about look off to him and it makes him think they're not them. He also gets delusions, the main delusion being about Cassandra and her being out to hurt his family. That's why he practically snaps during picks school, because his main delusion had come true and he's in a state of extreme psychosis.

Pico is chubby. Sorry but I just can't see him as fit or muscular that kid is not skinny and you gotta come to terms with it.

He likes cheesesteak fries to an obsessed extent.

Even even more Boyfriend headcannons

Man is way too silly for his own good. Soo, let’s get on with it!

- Even after the breakup and the many situations with Pico, the two love hanging out often

- He def spends a lot of off time in the arcade with GF and a few of his opponents (mainly Garcy and Annie), occasionally Kapi will be there and the two duke it out on DDR

- I don’t remember if I said this but he is very close to Garcello, he def sees him as a very chill uncle

- I remember seeing a “week 0″ short where he has to take meds for his beep booping, many headcanon that he only does that around anyone he isn’t comfortable with, and I do as well. His voice is fairly normal, but at times can have a small hint of autotune

- He has an entire closet of different outfits that resemble other mod appearances, he will switch between them every once in a while, and a lot of them contain fingerless gloves and ripped jeans (I’ll probably draw one of them later)

- He has all the consoles, new and old. However he prefers playing classic retro games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario Bros, Metroid, etc. He prefers platformers and fighting games (especially Super Smash Bros)

- While he is old enough (age is very widely debated, but I and others see him as 18-19), he doesn’t drive often and prefers to walk or skateboard

- Due to Skid and Pump, man became obsessed with Halloween

- Despite how extroverted and overly confident he is, he doesn’t really go to that many parties, mostly from exhaustion from battling his opponents. When he does go, he will go all out

- Between him and Pico, Pico is the more reasonable out of the two

I've already posted this but, I had Pico meet a Saint Bernard! I also saw this one post with Pico and his mom talking about him being single and thought it'd be cute if she found out about Bao in this same scenario!

The top image is based on the fun fact that Pico sometimes misses being on his mom's back and the other one... well I think it speaks for himself

And of course, I could not make this Pico board without the love of his life Bao!

I feel like they would catch each other just staring at the other. Just absolutely lovestruck, as you do. I also added little clicks to symbolize the action male opossums do to attract mates, because I thought it was cute!

Raccoon-bear boyfriend. This poor poor tanuki.

They kiss by giving each other nose boops, your honor! I rest my case. Bao would start doing it to annoy Pico, but then Pico would start loving them and be the only thing he does, mainly to get Bao's attention.

(One a side note: Helli.. look, I love Bao. I really really do, but he is SO HARD TO DRAW, I can't with him I'm sorry. I love him though.)

The Burlington Bounty AU

I'll be explaining the lore here. Long post ahead.

In this AU Keith, Cherry, Darnell, Pico, Nene would all go to the same high school. Keith is 18. Pico is 19, Cherry is 17, Darnell is 14, and Nene is 13. They would at first mutually get along and gradually bond with one another and form a pack with each other. Unlike in the original AU of mine, because he was already close friends with Pico, Cherry and Nene who were also friends with Keith, Darnell and Keith eventually became good friends with each other after a little rough start.

Before he first met either of his friends in high school in both this AU and the original, Keith had a jockey personality and reckless behavior in public. He often got distracted easily during his classes and rarely ever paid attention. He spent a lot of time in detention for misbehavior and constantly attempting to woo other classmates and getting into fights with other boys and even girls (mainly Cassandra). This is mostly a result of his undiagnosed ADHD at the time that no one was well aware back then. He was mostly known for being a troublemaker and had a bad reputation to everyone in town. His parents were both mortified by this and often questioned him why he acted like this when he was usually well-behaved at home. They’d often have to ground him because of this.

Upon meeting Pico in his first year as a freshman at 16, Keith would try to talk with the ginger-head, who at first tried to avoid him after constantly hearing about Keith from Nene and Darnell. He’d ultimately find himself failing and would frankly start to think of Keith as a friend, much to his first two friends' disbelief. In Keith’s second year of having to redo 9th grade due to his slacking, Cherry would join in the two after moving to town. It was almost love at first sight for Keith when he first met her in class after her introduction. Despite a lot of her new classmates’ warnings about him, Cherry would fall hard for him just as bad in return after getting to talk with him after school. It was then that she and Pico would start to steer Keith away from his old jockey self that everyone recognized him for that he started to become far more behaved and sweeter. In time with the pursuing of Cherry and Pico, both Darnell and Nene would become closer to Keith and consider him a good friend. With his friend’s help, Keith would finally start to catch up with his grades and make his parents proud and happy for him.

However it goes downhill when he turns 18.

During the shooting caused by Cassandra and her own pack of Goth punks, the pack is scrambled and separated. Pico was alone at the time and he ended up nearly getting killed by Cassandra had Darnell and Keith (who had met up at some point) stepped in.

Unfortunately Darnell is shot and Pico and Keith are left to believe he's dead. The last goes up against Cass in a haze of fury and gets his throat severely damaged by the stock of her gun hitting him too hard. He would’ve been killed had Pico not picked up the gun he found and shot Cassandra in the eye.

Once she's presumably dead, the damaged pair try to find Cherry and Nene, but only find countless bodies of their classmates and stumble into some of the Goth Gang. They both separate after trying to flee from the punks out of the school, managing to kill one or two in defense. They lose touch, Keith just barely managing to get out of the streets and collapse out of shock and exertion. He's found later by the police when they arrive at the scene, and by then he's just regained consciousness from lying out there unseen since who knows when. Pico, Cherry, Darnell and Nene are all assumed lost or dead after not having been found, and Keith is left alone paralyzed to the bone.

After getting hospitalized for his injured throat, he gets word from his parents that Cherry had been found unconscious hiding in the janitor's closet for nearly two days and that she had also been hospitalized from starvation. He got to see her one last time while she was still unconscious in the hospital before her angry parents prohibited him from ever seeing her again. They still believe he was the irresponsible boy from before and didn’t want him anywhere near their daughter ever again, mainly faulting him with the mindset that he wasn't there for her when she needed him most despite being her boyfriend.

Cherry wouldn't take not being allowed to contact Keith well at all. She'd avoid talking to her parents for almost a year after they moved out of town to Newsground City, and would also grow very depressed. She would struggle to finish high school at 20, and much like in the original AU she would move out of her parents' to study for a culinary degree, though here it was more for the sake of getting away from them. She would live most of her life haunted by her past and constantly mourning for her friends at the end of the workday.

Nene and Pico had been assumed dead since they were never found. Keith never fully believed it since he was never told they had found their bodies, but a part of him broke to have been told that. To add to the turmoil, it was confirmed that Cassandra's body wasn't anywhere at the scene where Pico and Keith last recalled leaving her. The second was left extremely paranoid after getting word of this on the news

Pico's story would continue fairly the same as in the original AU with only a few minor alternatives regarding his past friendship with Cherry and Keith. He’d have been harder to trust and grow closer to others due to the fear of losing them like he did at first.

Nene and Darnell are indeed still alive and barely managed to escape the school. The second had been shot in the shoulder twice and passed out on the outskirts of the nearby forest where he had been found some days later. The first had escaped with Pico like in the original AU and would part ways with him near the interstate.

After the tragedy Keith grew extremely distraught and despondent, suffering severe PTSD, OCD, depression and agoraphobia. His larynx had been damaged from Cassandra hitting him with the gun, and he wouldn't be able to speak because of the pain. He was pulled out of school and wouldn't ever go back to studying. His family moved out of that town and to a smaller and quieter town a few months after. His parents had gotten him into therapy in a desperate attempt to help him, but his lack of cooperation and overall despondency would prove otherwise. At some point after he turned 21 he decided to leave his burdened parents with only a note telling them that he was sorry for causing them such stress with his existence and that they wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore.

He would wander from town to town as an adult. He’d be introduced to the world of crime to survive, but that would quickly go downhill when he'd get into street fights with thugs or even random people after being angrily provoked for not being able to speak. The fights would end with him accidentally killing his opponents with his sheer strength and bare hands, gaining the attention of law enforcers. He’d lived his life constantly on the run from city to city, becoming an infamous bounty that was wanted dead or alive almost nationwide, wandering alleys and sewers and busy places as disguised as he could be. He'd stain the name of his family for generations to come. At some point he'd become such a dreaded criminal that even other criminals wouldn't dare mess with him. Sometimes just to avoid getting into any beef with him, other criminals or thugs would willingly help him with whatever he'd want or need: money, food, a place to stay for the night. Anything to keep him from getting angry and snapping their necks.

At some point he'd end up in Newground City, where he would meet Pico one night after the ginger had been hired anonymously to take him down. The two would recognize each other before any bullets were shot, and Pico would quickly realize that his old alpha partner was no longer the sweet dork from high school, but rather a broken and twisted echo of him. He wouldn't be able to bring himself to go through with the job, and would instead find himself being unable to shake the man off him.

Keith would meet Cherry later on one night upon walking near the restaurant she worked at when she was just stepping out and parting ways with her co-workers. She wouldn't recognize him at first, but after looking harder she'll come to the heart-wrenching realization that this mute bounty is her old lover from high school. She would reunite with Pico, and the two would have trouble trying to escape Keith's possessiveness and the danger that chases his very life for all of his brutal offenses driven from his frustration. They’ll have to choose whether to save the lives of people by helping the city arrest Keith, or become (knowns) criminals themselves for loving him because of who he used to be.

Luigi’s design kinda took some cues from Spamton with this nut cracker like design, big facial cheek and Big ol’ teeth are some examples of this .

For Pico I tried to give him a more original look instead using his usually design straight out of other media (like FNF). The most that’s changed with Pico is how his face is structured.

And that’s all to say design wise .

Honestly this could’ve been so much better, I’m still trying to get a hang on to this new style of drawing.

The coloring/shading is a bit inconsistent mainly with how I shaded everything with a low opacity brush and others with a full opacity brush .

It also looks just sloppy …

But enough of that hope you enjoy the art !

So I Wanna Talk Vodou in Castlevania: Nocturne But First...

We gotta talk about Magic in Castlevania as a whole. The problem though is that there's not much new to say that one can't grasp from watching the show and being exposed to other media which includes magic (which is like what? 99% of all fantasy fiction?). The show doesn't go out of its way to explain anything about how magic works but then again what is there that needs explaining? Pretty brown lady does some finger stuff and something goes boom or sparky, a couple of guys can raise the dead, something something levitating sword, something something magic portals, something something something something magic exists, just deal with it. What seems to be of interest to the show is how magic is used by each character and what that says about them, their roles in the story, and their arcs.

Sypha, for example, is the powerhouse of the main trio boasting the most diverse and deadliest set of abilities since her magic consists of control over fire, water/ice, and lighting. This has led her to be key to some of the team's wins over various vampires, creatures, or even humans. While Trevor may struggle with one enemy, she could be handling several at once. This dynamic is most evident during the fight with Dracula as Daddy Drac could handle his son and a Belmont but Sypha was a wildcard that he knew he would have trouble. Even if you can argue that by herself she could never beat Dracula, her presence was the edge that the trio needed. But what does that say about her? She's adventure- loving, brave, and her knowledge as a speaker gives her insight where Trevor's experience and Alucard's vampiric and scientific knowledge might fail them. However, none of this is more important, I think, than her role as the "heart" of the team. Trevor and Alucard are cynics held back by their respective familial traumas to see the world for what it is, she provides optimism and love for life and humanity that both lacked and this aspect of her character enabled them to think in ways they weren't able to before. Like her magic, she's able to take the elements of those she loves and make them into something more powerful than what they seem capable of. Get it?

You can basically extend this analysis to most of the cast. Nothing entirely too deep either for people whose hobbies involve over-thinking about the stuff they watch. You see, my thing is magic in most fiction isn't really... magic and that has some bad implications for Annette's Vodou in Nocturne. Why? Because it's basically just science when physics is weird and wonky. That's not even off brand for it either, we all know that one quote about advanced enough science being indistinguishable from magic but even before this quote some Italian guy name Giovanni Pico della Mirandola said that magic was the practical application of natural science. The video I reblogged of the guy moving a crowd of bugs from the light in his yard to the streetlight is absolutely magical... but pretty easy to explain using bug psychology. Hell some scientists go out of their way to find miracles from various faiths (mainly Christian though) and try to explain them just for funsies (or apologetics) to stretch the limits of what science can explain and what it can't. This is all well and good for a view of magic that is centered around the idea of it being manipulation of phenomena but it kind of runs against other perspectives that see magic and adjacent activities as more than just phenomena. Take, for example, the existence of deities. If there is a fire god, what is fire magic? Does the magic come from the god? Do you need to have a special connection with the god to do the magic? Is it possible to become a fire god if you're powerful enough or is there something more to the title? What separates what the god does from the magic a human performs? If not a god, what about a fire spirit? Is there a difference between a spirit and a god? Do spirits take on the form of the element itself or are they separate from it? Notice how me adding in the element of a conscious thinking entity now muddies the waters a bit. Now what would be a simple "application of science" is now a question of relationships between two persons.

Let's apply this back to Sypha. Sypha's magic is manipulation of fire, lighting, and water. Assuming that elemental spirits/deities exist, how did she acquire such skills? Does she pray to them, bargain with them, worship them? Is there a ritual involved that she has to perform? It's a bit of a headscratcher if we think on it but I don't believe that she's dealing with any external entities with her magic and I'm certain the writers intended for her magic to be as straight-forward as it appears. And notice how the other magic in the show fit a similar simplistic "mold"? Alchemy and Forgemastery are basically in the same "do a thing then a thing happens" territory that Sypha's elemental kinesis fits in. But just like how adding in a "second party" into the mix of the magic throws a kink in how we're supposed to perceive Sypha's magic, doing so for Alchemy and Forgemastery does the same. In fact, Alchemy stops being Alchemy the moment you start adding in cosmic beings because it practically ruins the point of alchemical work. So in a world where all the magic is connected together by a common "science-y" theme to it all that's supposed to enable us to shut off our brains and just accept said magic without explanation because we trust that there is one, how do you fit magic where entities are a part of how everything works? And when the magic you're introducing is from a faith that's been demonized to hell and back, how do you make it fit into your world with good representation? Well, for Nocturne, the answer is not terribly but not all that good either...

riddle school headcanons that I was planning to draw but postponning it until then. This one’s about Phil Eggtree

His parents’ names are Quail Eggtree (mother) and Robin Eggtree (father) (though I might change it so that all their names begin with P or Q, for fun idk)

- I think maybe that they're both pretty smart and clever themselves, in a way, Phil kind of inherited their cleverness and wits. Mainly by growing up with the mannerisms they use and that they teach him how to be independent by himself.

- Phil honestly seems pretty content just doing things by himself and he is very smart, just lazy. So his parents let him do what he wants but also make sure he's responsible while doing it. If that makes sense.

He has a dog and a hamster, as referenced in these screenshots

- The dog’s name is Darnell (a Jack Russel Terrior breed), and she loves just absolutely devouring couches man. Anything foam, she will gladly sink her canines into. That’s not healthy! so she has to go to her bad girl bed in the corner of the living room for a bit. She is scared of loud noises and hates robots. Her favorite snack is beef, and bits of cusion fluff..

- Hamster’s name is Hermit (a golden brown Syrian breed), and he’s a pretty mellow hamster. His cage is pretty big with loys of toys and climbables. the cage sits on the floor near the house entrance. He loves sunflower seeds.

Idk if it's just me but alot of people seem to forget that Phil was a pretty much a jerk to Smiley. Other than the Smiley Smudge incident, he also kinda didn't seem to do anything else other than insult her. If we're all going by the headcanon that Phil is a riased newgrounds kid, I'm willing to assume that he was probably just doing it to be edgy and thought he was really cool. Plus he likes Pico's School.

- Now whenever the riddle kids (as adults) hang out together Smiley loves to bring that conversation topic up and laugh at Phil, Phil meanwhile, dies inside

- Bonus points if Phred also likes pico school, but also likes making fun of Phil. They're all cool with it though and are more mature now
