ok simp time over, i liked the plot i really did. i don't remember much about the first season but i did rewatch season 2 & 3 on dvd and i liked both of them.

i liked the spirit world, i like the whole avatar shit, i liked the dark avatar, i liked the portals not closing, i like the whole actor bolin, and i even liked the book 2 finale. i really liked that vaatu and raava exist within each other and how neither were really right. something ingrained in eastern philosophy, not the principles of right or wrong, but rather order and chaos. both need to exist at once.

in book 3 i liked zaheer and his whole gang, i liked the airbenders coming back to restore balance by manifesting within people, the fight scenes, korrasami being friends, korra standing with her decision to keep portals open, lyn and her sister backstory, tenzin being a badass by taking 3 benders at once, tenzin emotional growth !!, the earth queen vs zaheer was very entertaining ngl, mako n bolin family omg, and OMG KORRA GOING APESHIT while being poisoned. like hearteyes hearteyes hearteyes hearte-

hey i know you do ids, could you give me a few tips? i’m ok at doing them for memes or tweets or whatever, but i never feel like i can do a good one for an actual piece of art. you totally don’t have to answer this if it’s too much trouble!

oh my gosh no I always want to share resources (that said I’m not the best at doing IDs so if any of my mutuals/followers who do IDs want to share more info on this post please please do!) 

my general concept with IDs is that I want people who use screen readers to be able to engage with whatever I write as I engage with the art. so what does that mean? I try my best to describe all the aspects of a piece of art or other media that are important for engaging with it. For art that would be what colors does the artist use? how would I describe the artist’s style? does the artist use lines or is the work lineless? where are people, animals, and objects placed within the art? where is the light coming from? what do the expressions on people’s faces look like? is the art realistic or is it more stylized? you’ll want to include as much detail as you possibly can. when I post an ID I look over the art a couple times to see if there’s anything else at all that I could possibly describe, anything else I notice about the work. and if I can’t think of anything then I post it. hope this helps!

Korrasami Bachelorette AU

with some bonus Wuko content

Asami becomes the Bachelorette because she’s a public figure and gorgeous obv

Asami thinks she’s straight which is v cute

Among her top contestants are Mako, Bolin, and villain Tahno because obviously the show needs a villain or two here and there

BTW Varrick is the Chris Harrison of the show 

Mako and Bolin (and I guess two other randos) make it to hometowns but since they have the literal same family, Asami gets to spend more time with each person’s friend group

So Mako’s buddies include Wu and some people from work

Bolin’s pals include Korra and Opal and some OCs I guess because wow they really didn’t have a lot of friends in canon

*cue Asami and Korra totally hitting it off*

Bolin tells Asami that btw Korra is Mako’s ex and Asami naturally loses her mind on Mako later because how could she not mention that one of his brother’s best friends is his ex (Bolin: Yeah! The three of us hang out all the time)

Yes, I know that Mako technically dated Asami first in canon but this is an au so hush

But Asami really likes Bolin and Mako so she tries to make it work with Korra and finds that she isn’t jealous of her and they bond over talking about Mako’s overuse of tongue when kissing

and one of them makes it slightly awkward by humble-bragging about their own kissing skills

As Asami does her other hometown dates, she’s still texting with Korra (I know they arent supposed to have phones hush) and the two of them even FaceTime about each other’s days

Asami realizes that not only is she not as straight as she thought, she’s falling for boyfriend’s ex

Finally it comes time for Fantasy Suites and Asami comes clean to the remaining 3 guys, one at a time, eventually sending everyone home

Bolin takes it surprisingly well because “Yeah, Korra’s great isn’t she?” and “You promised to always follow your heart and be honest with me, I’m proud of you”

But Mako’s a hot fucking mess and gets all mad and emotional, demands to know how could she do this to him and Asami being a mature queen just explains that she has this undeniable connection that’s stronger than anything she’s had with the guys at on the show

And Mako hears her and calms down but is still upset and doesn’t understand how she can just dump him over something that’s probably just platonic friend shit

And Asami tries to make him understand by telling him how she makes her feel and how she can’t stop thinking about her and she doesn’t get why Mako can’t get that and is about to say he’s being disrespectful and narrow-minded af when she sees he’s crying again

“Holy shit... I’m falling for Wu”

bi awakenings all around the end

Alternate ending – instead of immediately breaking up with the guys, Korra enters show as a contestant (would probably involve Asami meeting her much sooner than hometowns)

hello! i agreed with ur one rant & you made really good points!! however as a bi person i would like to say that on the topic of korrasami, there are indications that korra was coming into developing feelings for asami, as she was the only person korra wrote to, and she blushed when asami complimented her hair / called her snazzy. i saw my own experiences reflected, bc i develop strong romantic closeness with girls gradually, but with men, i’m forthright. some people have bi awakenings later too

(same anon) i understand if ppl dont ship them together, i just think that it’s unfair to dismiss experiences of bi individuals who come into their identity in othebrwats; not everyone immediately acts upon same gender attraction. ppl experience attraction in so many ways, and if ur bi, it can differ depending on the gender. korrasami wasn’t a dramatic declaration of love, it was two girls realizing their mutual feelings & going on their first date. otherwise i agree with w/ most of your points.

Straight to the point, I wasn't being critical of Korrasami for the portrayal of the girls' path to discover their sexuality. In fact, I have no opinion on Korrasami but because of who Korra and Asami are as individuals, not for their romantic preferences or for who they are together. I love the idea of Korra and Asami as characters, but in their canon portrayal Asami quite literally has no character traits aside from being beautiful and smart — which only accentuates how "rare" (quotations marks intended) it is for girls to be both — and Korra walks the thin line between being endearingly reckless and being plain reckless with rather erratic steps. I, personally, can't empathize enough with either of them to be all that invested in their love life. Tho, I do am glad they figured themselves and each other out.

Nevertheless, I have bi friends who weren't happy with Korrasami's portrayal. (It's sort of like what I said about Luz Noceda; U.S. citizens of latin ascendancy are thrilled about her, Latines who reside in Latin America are not.) Not everybody is going to see things the way you do, not even in your own community. Or go through the same experiences.

My friends weren't happy with the fact that Bryke made two girls to hold hands and then called it f/f rep and wrote a letter expecting an applause. I can't intervene in that conversation, but I do can see from where they are coming from. Besides, it wasn't like the show made much effort to portray Korra and Asami as mere friends earlier in the series. (I think I explained it all better in this post I published centuries ago.)

And even in Book 4, like @firelxdykatara described once, they didn't put much effort in showing how the girls felt separately or how their relationship had changed. Even Mako had a more positive depiction of his relationship with Korra: he is the one that accompanied Korra to confront Zaheer expressly saying "I'm here for you", and then he reaffirms he'll always be there for her at the end of the series. And even when he's not directly interacting with Korra, he got a whole monologue about his feelings and how "[she] inspires him". Considering how vehement he was in keeping Wu from dating Korra, it could all be read as a sibling-type relationship, or with a romantic undertone. (I'm not too invested in Makorra either to dig further into it.)

Asami and Korra only got small-talks, in one of which Asami couldn't even cheer Korra up until Tenzin stepped in, and she didn't receive enough screentime for us to get deeper into her mind and learn her thoughts about Korra. (Doesn't mean the plotline about her father wasn't significant.)

It figures that all of their relationship was so clumsy since the idea of them as a couple didn't come out until the start of Book 3 — I don't know why because they weren't even all that close in Book 1 or 2 — but it is what we got.

I'm glad that you identified with their story tho, and I'm glad you came to express your personal experience as a bisexual person, but I'm afraid the references I got until you weren't all that favoring of Korrasami and had their own valid arguments for it, and I'm not knowledgeable enough on the subject at hand to debate with them, so all the much that I can do is respect their opinions and wishes.
