I keep thinking about the fact that Jiang Cheng chose not to tell Wei Ying the truth about how he lost his core in the first place - by making himself bait for the Wen soldiers to distract them from catching Wei Ying after Lotus Pier was attacked.

And I think there are several reasons for this that I've been mulling over, so I decided to make a post about it.

Disclaimers: I am in no way saying that my opinion is canon fact or that it's the only "right" or "proper" or "correct" interpretation of that scene and/or JC and WWX's characters! Feel free to disagree with me, but respectfully. I do not entertain discourse, however I enjoy debate!

Now onto the post:

One of the reasons why I think JC didn't tell WWX about his own sacrifice is the fact that, though unknowingly, WWX had already repaid his favor by supplying him a new golden core years ago.

JC may not have known the details on how that happened, but it did regardless - so bringing this up at that point in the story, after the whole Guanyin Temple debacle and the golden core reveal, would have been pointless.

Even if WWX would have known that it was JC wanting to protect him (and not the other way around) that arguably led to... well, everything in WWX's first life and his demise, I don't see WWX agonizing too much over it - even if he didn't know it at the time, he repaid his debt immediately and in kind. It would have been shocking and upsetting, of course, but, at least the way I see it, it was a closed matter.

Moreover, I think the reason why JC has kept being bitter and vengeful and angry all these years is the fact that he expected WWX to be grateful for JC's sacrifice... even if WWX had no way of knowing about it.

Hear me out: we know the reason why JC is so angry at WWX is the fact that he believes WWX broke his promise to be JC's subordinate (his words, not mine, but I don't have the chapter on hand right now).

Now, what JC had expected was, presumably, obedience - but WWX didn't provide that, because he chose to stand up for and defend the Wen remnants, which JC disagreed with vehemently (to the point that WWX had to defect from the Jiang sect and stage a fight with JC to "officialize" it).

So not only did WWX not "listen to" JC as a subordinate would, but he insisted to oppose him (and he was right for that, by the way!). In light of that, JC perhaps interpreted it as his own (already repaid) sacrifice as "wasted"... so that misdirected anger fell on WWX, his cultivation path, the Wens and whoever else followed that path or had the surname Wen (these last two are explicitly mentioned in the book, though as supposedly a rumor, however they appear plausible within text, at least to me).

Add to that JZX and JYL dying in circumstances that involved WWX (i am deliberately avoiding the wording "because of WWX", but that's a different post altogether), not to mention JC's proclivity to keeping grudges and needing to blame specific people for everything (personally, I've never seen JC as someone to look at the broad picture and as needing to direct his anger at specific people, without considering the systemic issues)... of course he never moved on, like WWX did.

Because he probably believed he was owed obedience for a sacrifice WWX didn't ask him to make at all (ironic how this is the very same logic JC throws at WWX when the core reveal happens...) and he never got that or an apology for not providing it (which WWX needn't have given anyway, it was morally right of him to protect the Wen remnants!).

All that anger and resentment festered within JC for 13 years, and it burst when he realized he wasn't actually owed anything at all, the debt he believed WWX owned him long repaid with great interest!

friends since the beginning, you would call it. starting from your childhood in the undercity, to your positions at piltover’s academy, you and viktor were two peas in a pod. you can’t have one without the other!, people would say in reference to your long-time friendship.

you were happy with the mutual understanding and the tight-knit bond you shared with the man, of course you were. however, the nauseating feeling of your stomach bubbling up at the simple sight of his face, caramel eyes and chiseled bone structure and all, began to appear more and more and you couldn’t do anything to stop it.

a friendly coffee date. that was all it was. some small talk over hard black coffee and freshly baked croissants.

“. . .so, i decided to consult you about what i should do next. what do you think?”

you paused for a moment to pull yourself back to the conversation and remember what he was saying. “well, for one, i think your idea is great. it’s unique, well-structured, and isn’t controversial whatsoever. i can’t say it’s flawless, though. maybe replace the energy system with something like. . . solar power? it’ll appeal to your audience more while being convenient for all users.” your eyes floated to his hands, thin and calloused, drifting across ivory paper with a pen in hand, jotting down what you had told him in quick notes. “other than that, it’s great — beyond that, even.”

viktor rested his pen down and lifted his head to smile softly at you while thanking you for your input.

that damn smile.

the same smile that held such a strong amount of youth in it, reminiscent of his teen years back in zaun where he would grin at you with shining teeth. “thank you,” he spoke genuinely. “and thank you for the meal. i’m glad i got to talk with you, even for just a moment.” his words fluttered around in your chest, your lungs contracting painfully as you watch him slowly pack his belongings up.

he was always thankful to chat with you, and he would always love to talk more. he consistently said those words every time you would ask to meet up, before disappearing again for days, or weeks, or months. your conversations would border between soft small talk shared idly or full-on rants about your projects or deep conversations either about yourselves or the world around you. each time you would talk, there was a spark of hope, a little desperation in hoping he would notice your growing infatuation with him and his passion. and every time, the little daffodils growing in your stomach would begin to wilt away as you caught on that he would be disappearing yet again, and you would start back at square one.

you weren’t sure if he was doing it intentionally (you hoped he wasn’t), but either way, it hurt knowing that you had little to no chance in getting to express yourself to him. small letters written at the crack of dawn and little gifts you collected over time began to pile up on your desk and in your trash as you slowly began to destroy yourself from the inside out over his inability to notice your affection. next time, i’ll tell him, you would assure yourself each and every time, only for the words to get stuck in your throat, their attempts to claw their way out of your mouth all for naught.

next time, maybe.

the next time didn’t come for a long time. your conversations were, once again, reduced to quick greetings in the halls or hasty waves across the street as you both ran to your destinations, eager to get to work — the very work that was killing you inside. you were strongly averse to due dates, as time management wasn’t exactly your greatest skill. this weakness would only bite back at you as the school year progressed.

it was only until he caught you at your lowest point that viktor could finally slow down and talk to you. eventually, the stress from both school and your aching heart would overspill, you knew that. and yet, your break point hit you like a truck, hard and unrelenting, akin to waves crashing against rocks.

viktor held you in his arms in silence while you cried and cried to, seemingly, no end. your clock read 2:03 in the morning, a sigh nearly escaping the man’s lips as he realized how late it was. he could have scolded you then and there for being so careless about your health, but that would have made him a hypocrite.

“talk to me whenever you’re ready,” he whispered to you. your chest hurt with how soft he was being towards you, his skin on yours making your face flush. he wouldn’t be able to tell with your tear-soaked face, anyways.

after several moments, your sobs reduced to sniffles and short breaths, your face numb from how long you’d been crying. “i don’t know- everything feels so much more . . . difficult out of nowhere, and i feel so unproductive. i wanna get out of this hole but it feels like i’m digging towards nothing. and-“ you cut yourself off a second too late before realizing who you were talking to. you bit back a groan as he pushed you to continue. “and you. i don’t know what’s wrong with me, but you make me hurt so bad while making me smile so much. it’s just- every time i look at you, it hurts, because i need you so bad but you’re never around to notice it. i hate it- not you, i hate this- this feeling of want that i know i can’t have.”viktor turned silent after that, a response you were dreading but expecting all the same. you could feel his fingers twitch as his arms slowly unwrapped themselves from your arms. perhaps your sudden confession would push him away. you would understand.

“oh, miláček,” he spoke just barely above a whisper, his tone tantalizingly soft and delicate. his pet name in his mother tongue didn’t go unnoticed by you. “i apologize for not being present. while your confession was . . . abrupt, to say the least, i cannot deny that i feel the same. i always thought you were out of reach, too great for the likes of me, so i . . . tried to separate myself just a bit more as to not get attached. i’m so sorry,” he muttered while holding your hands in his. your heart was beating rapidly, the sweat beginning to pool up everywhere. “i know it may not be the right time, but . . .” viktor leaned his face towards yours, desperately trying to hide his awkwardness behind confident eyes. “i hope you can accept my affection for you.”

your eyelids fluttered shut as he pressed his lips against yours, tiny tears running down your cheeks as he kissed you with a passion similar to what he poured into his work. you had gotten what you wanted, albeit a little out of place. you weren’t complaining, though.

I get what you mean. I might sound controversial here but Si Spurrier took Chuck Austen's spot in my list of bad Nightcrawler writers for awhile now.

After this tho ? This whole 6$ mess?? I actually prefer Austen to him. It's incredible.

Should have seen this coming, all the clues were there from the start : Nightcrawler's selective memory on everything he went through, none of his friends caring about him (100× worse than Austen on this one), that bit in Legion of X where we could see Nightcrawler's s3xual fantasies which included a woman that straight up looks like Rogue, the whole Mother Righteous deal, the Golden Child in Nightcrawlers (we went all later season Rick and Morty here) and of course the Margali fiasco, to which I'm still going "why just why" whenever I think about it especially after finding out Orchis actually has a magic user (new oc from Dark X-Men) who captured an alternative version of Nightcrawler + Madelyne Pryor before Fall of X went down (so like why tf couldn't they have another oc or just her be behind Legion of X's horn plot instead of the only good parent Kurt has??)

Just get Si Spurrier away from Nightcrawler forever. I'm begging here

Outside of getting an ask that isnt from people I talk to on the daily, i assume, uh. Yeah what's been happening to Kurt has all kinda a big mess.

People can like the retcon and more power to them if they do, but I just. personally dont like how it messes with everything (a la Maximoffs arent Magnetos kids anymore, but somehow worse?) Full on explaination of my thoughts under the read more, be warned though, it might be a bit messy just based on it being me trying to collect my thoughts in a written form

Spurrier has made some very weird choices in the comics, definitly, though not all of them suck IMO.

(I'm probably the one person who thought about how Azazel has basically soul magic and how Kurt could thusly have magic aswell, meaning that Hope Sword being a magic weapon that kurt made in his soul (one which he should not have, but apperantly grew back) satisfied me and me specifically beccause AHA magical kurt!)

BUT YEAH NO, they messed up Margali ALOT, which, read the headline she is my girl, I liked seeing her again but WOW did they not understand her and what she does and the way they characterized her could be considered a form of character-assasination and possibly even. downright horrible considering the fact that she is a roma woman (though lets be real there are many issues with how writers treat the romani characters and as someone who is not romani, I wont speak on it in detail now, cause it's not really my place. but like man); Mr Sinisters rule 63 self was a whole thing, again as my headline says, do not like her., i think her character was handled horribly. Plus they made her like. the reason why margali does magic and as the number one margali fan in the world, thats bullshit. Margali has been sorcerer supreme twice, possibly even trice depending on how you read her being guardian of limbo so having her get to that point cause some fuckin Nathaniel Essex clone was like "teehee i actually gave you magic" and then making her take margalis magic and kill her?? It's bad. (also i dont like the way she looks, why would she look so different from other essex clones, its just. aesthetically weird to me); On the note of the nightcrawlers, I actually quite liked them as a concept, though I think they couldve gotten more creative with their designs. Please make them look like more than just character but hit with a blue coat of paint, theyre a mix of two genetic samples, not a full clone of one character. They are in a sense of biology, children of those two characters, dont make them look boring also dont like how two of them had a baby. they both have 50 percent kurt DNA. thats. thats not gonna be a healthy baby. Do like the baby tough, shout out to the god baby, her concept is way too funny to dislike.

NOW, I will say, reading over the stuff again, i feel like its implying that Raven used a bit of the dna from the baron and azazel for the whole, having a baby thing???

WHICH, if I'm reading that right, might actually mean that they just actually did the most insane move of basically going "actually every bio-parent we've ever given Kurt is Kurts Bio-Parent" and I would actually respect that and it would change my opinion on this comic INSTANTLY because this kind of shark jumpery would be amazing.

But either way, I feel like retconning everything is really bad for everyones characterization, especially Destiny and Mystiques, part of it being the "oh we had to leave you cause future vision said so" feels very much like them trying to find an excuse for why they wouldnt raise their child

Idk it feels weird to have him be raven and irenes beloved darling child that they were forced to give up when you have mystique and destiny not really giving a shit about kurt, like ever previously in the comics.

To me it feels empty and almost like a cheap reference. It isnt something easily inserted in todays canon, years ago, when we didnt have all the baggage of years of interactions, you couldve easily added that fact and explained why they left him, but now, its a mess

Plus they JUST brought Az back in the comics in the dark x-men thing, which. feels like really bad timing, if they just let azazel fade from memory and then do the retcon like "yeah kurt just dreamt all of that demon stuff teehee", it'd be annoying but.

number three!!! jaewon's parents like- suck ass, i'm not even joking, like they're so horrible that he ran away not once, not twice, but FIVE TIMES just to get away from them cause they really are that bad 😭 (these people should've not had kids), he successfully ran away for good in 2017 when he joined cube entertainment and he hasn't talked to them at all ever since then, they still leave a longlasting mental affect on him because of their emotional abuse though (sorry but trauma!)

he was the perfect blend of pretty, clueless, and just a touch “sick of everything” unhinged. him listening to “crush” by jennifer paige while dosing with his legs kicked up onto the desk as a semi truck blows up right outside the station and a flaming man walks in... not knowing how to work a shotgun and needing claire to take it from him... constantly asking what the fuck is going on.... pulling a rocket launcher out of nowhere at the end and slaughtering birkin without hesitation... all of it came together and made this version of leon probably my favorite iteration of him to date, if that isnt too controversial of me to say

a few degrassi Thoughts as i rewatch the first 5 seasons (mostly season 4)

> jay and rick are my problematic favorites, not in the sense that i condone their actions or think theyre good people in anyway, but they are too enjoyable for me to hate. i think this is a bit more controversial to say about rick than it is to say about jay but idc. jay is the funniest character of the whole show and rick is arguably the best written, not to mention theyre both acted incredibly well.

i plan on watching the original star wars movie trilogy so basically can you rank the sequels, prequels, and shows on how worth it is it to watch? thank you

oh man, even though i do love star wars, i'm nowhere near as die hard as some people. everyone also has really different opinions on star wars. my opinions may be a bit unpopular so please take them with a grain of salt!! this isnt so much a ranking as it is a list of my opinions

original trilogy (OT) - it sounds like youre already watching this. it's a classic that i think everyone should experience at least once.

prequel trilogy (PT) - it's funny because when these first came out they were very unpopular. now everyone who didn't like them has gone away, and everyone who is left LOVES them. now personally, i liked them as a kid, but nowadays they are hard for me to watch simply because they are not well made. the pacing and the acting and most of the story is just... not very good. i may be offending a lot of people with that statement. that said you may want to watch them once as they provide a lot of context for other stars media. ewan mcgregor's performance as obi wan might make it worth it at least

sequel trilogy (ST) - another controversial one lol. personally i like the first 2 and found the last one very disappointing. other star wars media isnt usually based around this so it is skippable. but i do think as movies they hold up better than the prequel trilogy, though the story is all over the place. the visuals are really great too imo.

rogue one - standalone movie that takes place shortly before episode 4 (first in OT). it's very good and worth watching i think! a fan favorite as well

solo - a movie about han solo that takes place before OT. some people like it. i found it pretty forgettable and very skippable lol

SHOWS:

the clone wars (TCW) - animated show that takes place during the PT (between episodes 2 and 3), so you will need to have watched that for context. it's kind of a mixed bag, some episodes/arcs are awesome, some are totally weird and mundane. i honestly watched it mostly as a background show. it introduces the character ahsoka who is a dan favorite (i love her too!)

star wars rebels - i actually never finished watching this lol but not because it wasn't good! takes place before OT. i think i liked it better than TCW bc it had more structure to it. it's got some cool characters and interesting story lines.

the mandalorian - my FAVORITE star wars thing. season 1 is top tier. i love season 2 less but it still has its moments for sure. totally worth watching. season 1 you dont really need much star wars knowledge to enjoy it, but season 2 they start bringing in characters from TCW and other movies.

book of boba fett - this show turned out to basically be the mandalorian season 2.5. a bit of a mixed bag but overall good..... but I have a lot of Opinions i wont get into here 😂

everything else out there i haven't watched and can't give an opinion. i hope this was helpful!! it really depends on how dedicated you are to getting into star wars and what your preferences are really. it's hard for me to say what order to watch them because a lot of them are based in the context of other ones which can be overwhelming. like if I had to pick the bare bones approach, it would be the OT and the mandalorian and then everything else is optional lolol. but maybe start with the movies and then go from there. if you have more questions you can message me :)

I’ll say it: Cyberpunk 2077 isnt as GODAWFUL bad as people made it out to be and can actually be quite fun at times.

YES it needs improvement still, even after patches, but the criticism honestly got blown out of proportion with social media echo chambers.

In an ethical and diverse approach, it definitely is flawed, although whether that’s a result of being a Polish studio within Poland, which has Shit godawful LGBTQ+ laws STILL or just purposeful ignorance on the devs behalf - idk. Personally I find some things like the reliance on Asian culture to be trite and overused, but Blade Runner did that, Altered Carbon did that. We KNOW it’s a perpetuated racist trope for Cyberpunk settings. Does it suck? Yeah. Do I hope it improves in the future. Of COURSE I do. But Is it something to shove rods up your ass about anymore? Not really.

In terms of the whole controversy regarding LGBT and trans rep, I can’t speak too much on the trans part as I’m not, but maybe it was just bad and misinformed marketing on their behalf. Again, Poland has shitty laws for queer people. It’s the worst in Europe for LGBT rights so the devs probably had to do something to curb not having their green light shut down, or it could be ignorance. I literally can’t claim to know because I don’t work there, and neither does anyone else with speculations. (Unless you actually do work there). This isn’t a pass for them but it does add a LOT of context that feels like people who were getting all riled up about didn’t include.

I also think a Lot of people held it with TOO high of expectations, similar to how people had MASSIVE expectations for TLOU2 and once it came out and didn’t meet every last one of their personal fantasies they got mad about it. I went into CP with Low to zero expectations and I’m enjoying it. I wouldn’t claim it’s Game of the year bc it’s not that quality, but for what it’s worth it’s fairly solid.

Like you will definitely learn to enjoy more things, especially in media, if you go in with minimal expectations. Maybe that’s like, super nihilistic or whatever, but idk man. People are so quick and easy to disappoint that it’s almost hilarious.

Anyway, I’ve been having a fine old time scooting around on my motorbike and stealthing and playing the story 🤷🏻‍♀️ and frankly, if I’m having fun then that’s all that matters to me

Jimin is the same with other members as he is with Jungkook except in one way: Jimin's affections towards JK often take on a paternal tone that I just don't see in his affections with others (sometimes he'll have this tone towards Tae but not as often as towards JK; and never towards the hyungs). Right down to ruffling/patting the hair at the top of JK's head like you do with a little brother or younger pal. And that tone fits Jimin's own words about feeling like JKs dad or feeling like JK is his real little brother, but people continue to ignore both his words and the actual tone of his actions towards JK. Jimin is the person who takes his job the most seriously in the group and does almost 80% of the fanservice alone. I highly doubt that any of the boys are uncomfortable with shipping knowing that fanservice is apart of the job that they signed up for when they decided to become idols. Most of the concert moments are fanservice. They even reheasing. Let's not discuss this. Borderline homoerotic or flirty photoshoots are fanservice. Anything that is being done with the audience's enjoyment in mind first is fanservice. And it's okay to acknowledge that. It doesn't make any of the relationships within BTS any less genuine just because they also engage in things that are acted out or staged. The reason why they are so good and so loved is that although they do the same things other kpop groups do, they are natural. They know how big shipping culture is within the k-pop industry and I'm sure they're aware that that's exactly why fanservice as a concept exists. That's why it's rare for them to get jealous of each other while doing their jobs. In fact, Tae rarely gets jealous of Jungkook from the other members, it's usually with Jungkook jealous of him. as for "changing his personality", i dont understand how he can "change it" when we don't know what he's like.. for run!bts episodes you need to remember that at the end of the day it is a show ran by a business. and every view generates income and revenue into the business. so yes, he probably does get told to act things up - like all the other members. and comparing that to being himself in a vlive i feel just aren't comparable .. everybody when they're alone is more in calm space. yoongi and hoseok are prime examples of just that.

at the mention of decalomania and jin and that he doesnt let his feelings out or express them - maybe? maybe not? we dont know them and/or him personally to know how he lets his feelings out. he's a 23 year old man and not all people at his age express their feelings openly.

While I will absolutely agree that CB2077 isn’t the ONLY game doing all this bullshit, or that other AAA studios don’t deserve the flack CDPR is getting, I have to say that this is absolutely the perfect storm and I think people are FINALLY seeing the problems in modern AAA gaming. CB2077 might be fun to play, may have a good story, but it’s almost impossible to see because of the glaring issues. Which, honestly, is a good thing. I hope games change after this.

AAA studios have been like this and this sort of release has been completely normalised on all accounts by both the businesses themselves and fans because of the inherent reliance on modders (bethesda at the forefront of this), as well as the pushback every time companies actually go ‘uh we need a lil more time’ (although... they just shouldnt announce potential release dates, im even of the camp they shouldnt even start releasing the game until like 6 months out from their official date because they fuck it up every time. borderlands 3 being the only game i know of being in “secret” development and then announcing itself in march for a september release. game itself aside, thats how companies should do it). easily i can remember a lot of 2011 release games which have had the exact same issues as cp77′s release, and then every other game in between since. very rarely do you actually have a game that isn’t a fucked up mess of a pile of pixels. and it is always the customisable character ones that are honestly, genuinely, ugly looking at release. but you can definitely say its been happening looooooong before 2011, with unrealistic expectations, word limits, 11 month time frames, offloading sequels to smaller companies so they can suffer if it fails, etc etc. the entire system has been like this for so long... they dont know any real different nowadays.

i mean look. tlou2 released under crunch conditions this year, and was rewarded. it was ALL over the social media feeds, it was quite the controversy because, surprise surprise, the company promised they wouldnt do it uwu and then. bam ! crunch conditions. literally around that time too, bioware employees came out with a statement saying ‘man we wish dai FAILED so that back in 2014 we couldve proven crunch was a wrong practice’. they say this as well after having to produce da2 in 14 months, which just suffered from fans and journalism for reusing environments, because it was produced in 14 months, and honestly? no one pointed that out back then, bioware themselves pointed it out again this year, 6 years after release, that that game was produced in 14 months. rdr2′s release was hounded by stories of crunch, and they all disappeared into the night because... it was heralded as the best game of all time. that was 2018, 2 years ago.

i think too is that some people get kind of ... morally and ethically concerned. which is understandable. can you consume something when you know it was made under conditions like crunch? and i think one of the most confronting things about it is that 9/10, not only has your favourite company engaged in crunch conditions, they almost actively choose to continue with them. and then that’s a whole other bag of issues blown up over there when it comes to what is able to be consumed what isn’t etc etc

i think also like a mix of marketing, promises and then the expectations of what the game will be like have really had cdpr earn the ire of fans which is just like... you don’t believe what these companies are saying. you never should, esp when it’s their ceo’s saying it who don’t work on the actual floor. bioware itself is the main culprit of doing this to the point they finally came around with all the da4 concept art and teasing to be like ‘ummm but actually dont get invested?’. remember all that qunari lady fanart that bioware management was like ... please dont get attached? yeah. yeah. like at what point as well is there going to be heavy level of apprehension to approach this? and i can’t really talk either, i cracked open the door for mass effect again. i know exactly what kind of shit bioware will pull, i know they are teasing it already on social media, but mass effect is my ride or die series. that’s why people keep opening the door on letting these companies get away with it. and you can’t fault fans entirely either because this is down to a science of how to get money. i mean, fuck, mass effect andromeda’s entire advertising campaign HINGED on the n7 logo. for the nostalgia value. and i see text posts in the same vein of both ‘guys, disney isnt gonna fuck you if you consume every remake for nostalgia value’ and ‘its understandable why people do it’.

so then you have to go ‘well are fans as just to blame’ and then that’s a whole other argument.

i think also like. i personally havent run into aaaannnyyyyyyy of the issues that you see posted online. which is ironic bc 1) i play on ps4 and 2) its an old dusty ps4. in fact a lot of ppl i have spoken to who have had issues have played on pc. does this mean the glitches dont exist? ofc not, the vids and screenshots are right there. but like... ive had a basically unhindered experience so far, and i get where ppl are coming from (i do, i promise) where theyve basically found the game unplayable. is there also a standard of what ppl consider unplayable because ive played most AAA games at launch when they basically rushed to slap the box label on the game and called it a day until they work on patches. when ppl consider unplayable is also just... different per person. some people have a slight blur on the screen when turning too fast even in an MMO and decide the game is horrible and unplayable. some people can have broken quests and npcs not loading and falling through maps and still be fine. there’s no agreed statement of what makes a game unplayable either, which is why you read threads on twitter and someone goes ‘yeah this npc t-posed so i quit in the first hour’ with a dozen replies. everyone has different levels of it.

it’s a mixed bag of issues. im not excusing cdpr, but the ppl who worked on the game are honestly likely not the ones who pushed for a release. you’ve gotta look at sony and microsoft and ceo’s with bonuses coming up and the investors and shareholders and people who sit behind computers and read numbers detailing interest and demand and supply and how every single time they had to delay this game, the loudest (but smallest) bunch of assholes on like reddit and in the twitter threads complained that it was delayed AGAIN even though back in what 2015? they said it’ll come out when it’s ready. and yeah there are times when game delays result in a mismatched half assed sort of story (kh3... p5... ffxv... dai...) and then there are times when, if they need to delay the game... they probably need to delay the game. sometimes delays are bad sometimes theyre good sometimes you are sitting there like whew if you only didn’t try to be like THIS TIME this is the release date.

the ONLY WAY this will stop happening is, quite frankly, unionising. and everyone is allergic to that whole concept so like... this is “the perfect storm” as you put it. but it’s also not. people have been so disappointed over the last 2 years alone for gaming companies, the final product, the attitudes from higher ups, that i think cdpr is receiving a good few years worth of anger. i think theyre also on the receiving end of misdirection from american fans who still don’t fucking get the company isn’t american, because that’s another bag of issues as well. like we’re holding at least 8 bags of groceries out of the back of the car now, and we don’t want to take another trip, because there are so many little bits of this entire situation to look at. there’s so much back and forth.

i think the worst, but most realistic thing is: games won’t change. how they will social media wise will. maybe. assuming bioware gets their heads out their asses but... they’re going to be a lot more careful. i mean, hell, sony offered refunds. that was just a publicity stint. they dont give a fuck if the game was bad. as i said before, if they did, they would make all companies fix trophy problems, starting from like 2010 or whenever the trophy system first came out. they just don’t wanna fall in alongside cdpr being thrown on its sword. but the companies are gonna learn from this, get smarter, still do the same shit to their employees, still pay off journalists, still do media blackouts, etc etc. and we’re gonna be here in another year’s time, with another game, having these same roundabout arguments, and cp77′s issues are gonna fade into just a wikipedia article.

rebecca diana stevens wasn’t born out of love or sincerity, she was born to fulfill a a status quo. althea and joseph stevens had but one child before becca, one conceived out of wedlock and to a different woman. joseph stevens hailed from a political dynasty, his past ancestors holding powerful positions in government, and a son born from a college relationship with a woman of much lower status would only tarnish the political standing of the future governor of connecticut, mr. joseph stevens himself. so the family did what they knew best, and threw the entire possibility of a scandal under the rug, paying off joseph’s girlfriend to grant sole custody to him. it was only within a few short months that joseph’s mother set him up with the daughter of a fortune 500 ceo, althea santos. the two were attending yates university at the time, both in their senior year of school. the manufactured relationship quickly became a marriage within the next few years, althea claiming her stepson as one of her own, at least in front of the public eye. and within a years, rebecca diana stevens was brought into the world, her middle name inspired by the late princess diana, who althea had been fond of.

to those who met her, she was cold, and blunt, and if there wasn’t a camera to her face or a public official to wow, she had absolutely no filter. in high school, more often than not, you’d find her in the library with a black hoodie on reading a book, not because she cared an awful lot at school (despite ironically excelling at it), but because she knew it was a place no one would bother her. she was rich, and beautiful, and had every chance of being the queen bee of her boarding school. but she didn’t care to, she didn’t care about anything. after graduating, she chose to go to yates, her parent’s alma mater, instead of yale university, in the town she’d grown up in.

she’d joined calloway, even if a part of her felt that she’d fit into any society at yates. and by fit in, she meant ignore everyone’s presence. but being in yates was different. at least in high school, everyone had already known to leave her alone. there wasn’t an opportunity for her to be liked, because she’d already spent years cultivating an awful reputation. somehow, somewhere along the way, becca found herself caring about a few select people, as awful and wrong as it felt at the time. she still hated the majority of her peers, but some had managed to crack her dead heart. and she definitely hated that.

despite never admitting it, becca had come to yates as a virgin. she hadn’t ever been in a relationship, or even a casual hookup before. she hadn’t done much in her freshman year, but just as her 2nd year started, the relationship that gave her everything, only to take it all away begun. he was easy on the eyes, and she remembered him saying all the right words. he hadn’t cared that she was a bit meaner than most, and that she mostly had the emotional capacity of a rock. he’d tried, and tried, and eventually, becca let him in. she let herself believe that someone was capable of caring about her. everything was perfect in the beginning. she smiled, and laughed, and acted like one of the lovesick people she’d silently judged at one point. she was truly, and hopelessly, in love. until he cheated on her, that is. and then it was as if everything came crashing down. maybe if she hadn’t caught him sitting a little too close to a girl, running from the door instead of asking questions, they’d still be together. she didn’t have proof, but at the same time, she didn’t need any for her heart to feel completely shattered.
