Live Emotion Management Letter

The official twitter account has released a letter from the Live Emotion management team. Thank you management team!

To help spread their message further, I have translated and edited a graphic for an English version of this letter. Please keep in mind I'm not a translator, so there may be some inaccuracies, and we don't know the official translation of some terms (Eg. Emotional Piece/Peace).

“UTA NO PRINCE-SAMA LIVE EMOTION” - MANAGEMENT LETTER.

Nice to meet you, everyone, This is the management team of “Uta no Prince-sama LIVE EMOTION”. As the release date approaches, we have issued a management letter. Today, we would like to tell you about the app prior to its release.

"Uta no Prince-sama LIVE EMOTION" is an app that focuses on adding color to the daily lives of idols and everyone. “I want to enjoy the music.” “I want to enjoy it as a fan.” “I want to go back to basics and have fun.” etc. We create products that can be enjoyed by a variety of play styles.

In preparation for release, we are also brushing up the content shown in the game introduction videos that we posted recently. This time, I would like to share with you some information that could not be covered in the game introduction videos alone.

LIVE (RHYTHM GAME): There are four levels of difficulty, and the number of lanes and notes will change depending on the difficulty level. You can also customise the speed of notes, turn off live MV, swap to still background display, change screen brightness, etc.

HOME/TALK: Up to 4 idols can be invited to the home screen, and you can look around the left and right sides of the room with a swipe. Pressing and holding an idol on the home screen will transition to a talk screen.

“UTA NO PRINCE-SAMA LIVE EMOTION” - MANAGEMENT LETTER.

STORY: There are two types of stories: one from a composer's perspective, and one from other perspectives. Private stories will be developed from the former perspective, while main stories, emotional pieces, and event stories will be in the latter perspective.

EMOTIONAL PIECE: Emotional Pieces can be obtained from piece gacha and events. You can level them up using items obtained in the rhythm games. By training them, you will unlock stories, costumes, voices, etc. The unlocked voices can then be enjoyed through home and talk screens.

MINIPRI: You can allocate up to 3 MiniPri per room. In addition to interiors that are permanently available, we also plan to develop interior series that can be exchanged for a limited time only.

The entire management team is working hard to create an app that is not only enjoyable to existing Uta no Prince-sama fans, but also aims to attract even more people to the joy of Uta no Prince-sama.

theo’s bedroom is slowly coming together

The Maniraptoran Alphabet (Part 1)

This past week I researched and illustrated a dinosaur alphabet book! I researched and illustrated 26 maniraptorans for the project, specifically limiting myself to species that went extinct before the Eocene to exclude modern birds. This project was a huge amount of fun for me and I'm very proud of the result, so I hope you all enjoy them too! Please look forward to the rest of the series, which I'll be posting over the course of the coming week or so.

It’s choosing to give her her freedom anyways. Because your love is no longer all about you, no longer selfish. Because this love isn’t just a shallow balm to soothe your complexes anymore.

It’s being betrayed, finally facing the lies and no longer pretending you both don’t know that this is a farce, but desperately wanting to keep it going anyways. It’s "I should hate you now. Why don’t I? Hey, tell me we’ll go through with the plan, tell me you’ll marry me after all. Otherwise, why am I still here? Why don’t I want to leave? You act like you don’t need me but I still need you."

Like that’s so revolutionary for a yandere story. The self-delusion is strong, denial that things have changed despite it being impossible to truly believe, BUT HE STAYS. It’s no longer selfish 😭😭

"I don’t care about you anymore, I won’t help you. Get yourself killed for all I care." <- Jumps to her rescue 3 milliseconds later when she almost falls down a ladder/roof. It happens twice. The ‘lying and trying to emotionally distance yourself from something to protect yourself and not get hurt’ defense mechanism is blatant and it’s failing really bad.

It’s "My sense of duty and goals to have accomplished something useful in my short life are making me do this, but I do want you to stay with me." The yandere stuff here gets turned on its head because what he says is empty where it matters and meaningful where it matters. It’s knowing that if Satoko asks him not to kill anyone he won’t, but knowing that he won’t give up on her no matter what, even if she’s unattainable, even if she’s sickly, even if she pushes him away like just before. It’s so thinly veiled for "I’m determined to see my goal through, but that’s not what I want. If you just so happen to take me away and I don’t try to run away hard enough then we can elope and be free. I want to have an excuse to leave with you. Please give up on marrying me. Please don’t. I want that, but I can’t."

It’s "If I didn’t burn brightly in my short firefly life, then what was the point?"

Except that burning brightly doesn’t have to mean making big achievements, or being useful to your family.

It can be living happily, living for the ones you love, fighting for them. It can be worth to risk it for things that actually matter to you.

It’s giving your heart to someone, figuratively and literally. To lend it to them even if it might get used or battered, for as long as it beats to use your body to protect them, even if you have to sacrifice yourself. A love that burns bright into a bonfire before they both turn to ashes. Unwise but wholehearted.

It’s despite even that, needing grandiose gestures to be able to trust that this is real. It’s needing external cues that prove it to feel safe in their love existing, other people to confirm that he’s not crazy, that this is happening and this is how they both feel. Their love has been fake, both being a warped love and being a lie, only being out of necessity or because the other was the only one willing to offer it to them, offering comfort, safety, support and care. And showing that they care is the most loving of all It’s despite everything falling back into old habits that "Oh if she was miserably worried for me then that means she’s not indifferent to me! That’s good!" And then once again being taken aback by her, by her earnestness and by her will. Because oh, no, this goes deeper than that. She cares. It’s love.

The King Who Cared is honestly such a boss title. A lot of the titles in ASOIAF are basically about how cool and mean or how pretty or how nice at killing stuff someone is. I had a middle-aged half-deaf beagle called Khaki Jack. He’d had a bleak life; caged, kicked, maimed, defiled. Jack had baggage. ‘A bad egg’; all malice, mad like hell. Jack had lice. A hide like a llama fleece. I checked him, de-flead him, made him a bed. I had a half-baked idea; a belief if I calmed him, made him amiable, he’d heal. I aimed high.

Jack baffled me. If I called him, he hid. If I kicked a ball, he fled. If I made a face, he hackled. If I beamed back, he balked like I flicked him.

Jack liked cake. Jam, beef, lamb kebab, he deemed all edible; Each deli held a high acclaim; each mall café, a Mecca. If I had cake, he begged. I fed him cake.

Jack became fickle. He climbed a big elm, acacia, beech, climbed a jagged cliff face, a  high ledge, like ‘bald eagle’ high, like ‘Babel’ high.

He’d dig like a jackal; a mad childlike glee. He made life a bedlam, each game a debacle. If I chided him, he became meek, mild. He’d lick a face like a cliché, a gimmick.

If I hiked half a mile, he ambled ahead, glided, agile, like a high-heeled dame. He mimicked me like a kid. If I called him, he came back. If I led him, like magic, he heeled.

Jack fell ill. He damaged a leg; a lame dead limb. He became feeble; malleable, like a flaccid beachball kicked afield. He hacked, gagged black bile. A lilac? A dahlia? He bled. He flailed. He faded. I held him. He died. I’d had him a decade. I ached like he blamed me. I feel like I failed him, fallible Jack.
