Marrowe - Tiefling Warlock
___
Born from a ritual to bring upon an Eldritch beast unto Faerun, the dark Sorcerer at the centre of the ritual failed its completion, thus bringing Marrowe
into the world.
Marrowe was manipulated into believing he had amnesia by the Sorcerer, convinced he had lived a normal life up until the ritual had commenced. He was kept under lock and key, the Sorcerer believing the Eldritch God could take control of Marrowe at any time.
Marrowe often hears voices that gift him unknown knowledge to Faerun as well as gifts of arcanic magic. He was under the impression these voices were simply the Gods of Faerun communicating with him. However, the beast had been physically locked to Marrowe's mind when the ritual had failed.
I finally got around to drawing him and astarion!! i've been struggling getting these two drawn because i was so attached to how they look in game that it was intimidating me to draw them LOL
They're narrative foils to each other <3
Marrowe was born from a sacrificial ritual while Astarion faces the possibility of death from a sacrificial ritual. Marrowe is already healed from his trauma before he meets Astarion so his worldview seems "naive" to Astarion. Before he knows of his background, Astarion assumes he knows nothing of abuse or having to survive to live and thinks of Marrowe as childish for seeing the good in everything.
Marrowe can still be an evil shit, though. Resuing dogs and owlbears one day, decemating goblin villages the next and convincing people to kill themselves. Astarion becomes quickly sobered to his worldview of Marrowe being childish and naive.
Astarion: Nothing Matters. :(
Marrowe: "Nothing Matters! :D *skateboards*

I got the bit of dialogue where durge sees a game of hopscotch on the ground at the blighted village and says "Did i play games like this in my youth? Was i sweet once?"
Just!!! Durge wondering if there was a time where even a wretched creature like them was an innocent.....

Well Shit
Spoilers below. Yee be warned
I started playing BG3, as one does, and made the Guardian character, as you do. Grandiose plans of romancing one of the delectable companions, all down the drain. I didn't realize that you could romance the Guardian??? And I modeled them after my husband... Also didn't realize how much I'm drawn to 'my type' until the Guardian came along and now I have no attraction towards any of the others. Sweet Jesus on rye.

I've seen a lot of people talk and sometimes even complain about how there seems to be no driving force to raid the grove other than sheer cruelty, how thoroughly unrewarding it is and my dearest friends...
I'm pretty sure that's entirely intentional, not an oversight
It's simply that, for the life of me, I cannot imagine what that purpose was. Could you elaborate?
This entire conversation with Volo is just him going "sure pal" to any explanation you give him. He might act a fool, but he's smart enough to see right through you and know that you had no real reason to do it. You just wanted carnage. I think that's actually a pretty neat thing, especially if you go this route as Durge who is like "heh wouldn't it be neat to slaughter everyone" at every turn while in the grove. Not for gain, not to get Absolutist's favour. Entirely on a whim. Durge specifically is not even that heavily compelled to do it, no one forces their hand. You don't have to save the grove, you can just continue on! Halsin tells you everything you need to know regardless. The game makes it clear you had other options, but you chose to do the worst possible thing anyways and there's no talking your way out of why. I absolutely love it, it adds so much weight to the whole thing.

4. Another extremely late-night doodle, this time of Marrow
He’s my alt Tav warlock who exists only to look good LOL I can’t even start to think about actually playing an alternate character when Anattone, my main, isn’t even done with Act 1. I’m going so comically slowly. There is so much more to play through LOL
