The very last cast watch party for episode 25 of TIGER & BUNNY 2 has ended, where the cast and production staff discussed about the final episode, like Katsura story boarding for an anime for the first time and about the final act of Yuri Petrov. They gave their heartfelt thank yous and appreciation for all the support that the fans have given to this series for these 10+ years. The live stream can be watched here (note - no subtitles).

There were no new anime continuation announcements at this time.

Although there were no continuation announcements, there was an update of the recent one-shot manga that had released in November. This saw the return of series' Main Character Designer, Masakazu Katsura and Main Scriptwriter, Masafumi Nishida, collaborate once again to write/draw a few new additional pages, which are set after TIGER & BUNNY 2. This can be viewed at the link:

There was also an announcement that TIGER & BUNNY 2 will receive a Japanese weekly TV broadcast over on the NHK channel from April 2023. Personally I am thrilled to see this, as it will allow the season to outreach a much more broader audience than the Netflix exclusivity allowed it to, so hopefully the season will garner more potential viewership and attention!

Although a sequel/follow up anime may have not been announced at this time, we still have plenty of content to enjoy right now. Some content such as the on-going 2 manga series (by Mizuki Sakakibara and the other written by Erika Yoshida and illustrated by Hiroshi Ueda) the audio dramas with the Japanese home Blu-ray releases, the upcoming artbook that's expected to be released in March and hopefully more books and interviews announcements to follow, The Jazz of TIGER & BUNNY 2 event and the Museum in January and the endless collaborations and merchandise that keep on flooding through.

AFFT Event 10/13/2017: Yuri-centric Parts

This one is a long one. But oh-so-worth-it. Some Yuri pieces of information translated from the AFFT Event October 13, 2017

アニメ１００周年を記念したフェスティバル。オールナイト上映回や、製作陣によるトークショーなどが行われます。

Anime Film Festival (AFFT)

A festival commemorating the 100th anniversary of anime. There was an all-night screening (for episodes 14-25 of Season 1), as well as a talkshow with members of the production team.

The production team attendees were Katsura Masakazu, Nishida Masafumi, and Producer Tamura Kazuhiko

Questions were accepted by the team here, and there was a special illustration released for the event.

Katsura: Yuri's initial setting was (TN: Kotetsu's) a former partner with a lot of hair. Nishida-san joined and made him a judge, so I thought I had to tie his hair.

Does he eat ramen?

Katsura: People with darkness in their hearts don't eat ramen!

How does he cutdown on time at bedtime?

Katsura: He sleeps naked!

Yuri's black ribbon. His hair was designed at the character creation stage, but when the Judicial Bureau setting was added, it became a black ribbon according to the legal uniform. Naturally he cannot just put it on. I guess his hair is not tied (lit spreads) when he sleeps, and he's naked when he goes to bed! And Mr. Nishida. Yuri is naked when he sleeps...!

The Great Ramen Debate:

Katsura's comments on darker minded people not eating ramen, sparked a debate between him and Nishida on whether Yuri eats ramen. Poor Tamura was the mediator.

ユーリさんは何でリボンで髪を結んでいるのかという話から、どのタイミングでリボンで結ぶのか

They talked about why Yuri uses a hair ribbon and when he would tie it up.

→ Katsura: Puts on his administrator's work clothes and ties it at the end. Other than that, it's unkempt.

Katsura-sensei: (Agrees) When you eat ramen, you do tie your hair up, but Yuri doesn’t eat ramen!

→ Nishida: He does! And he doesn't brush his hair with such slow movements, ties his hair with a ribbon like this: manly!

→ Things started heating up and Katsura-sensei's water (which was on the floor) spilled.

→ Katsura: Yuri doesn't care if his water spills.

→ Nishida: No, he'll wipe it!

I can't help but wonder if Katsura and Nishida are the inspiration for the dynamic between Kotetsu and Barnaby.

There were many entertaining moments like the ramen debate, such as a discussion on their attire. They were supposed to come to the event dressed casually (in TaiBani T-shirts) but Nishida showed up in a suit, so Katsura felt betrayed 🤣

REVIEW | "Tesla Note" - Vol. 1 | B3 - Boston Bastard Brigade

Nikola Tesla was a man beyond his time. Many of his inventions were the envy of Thomas Edison, to the point where the two found themselves in heated competition. But where many of Edison’s inventions are still in use today, some of Tesla’s are still considered too complicated to initiate today. Worse, some were dangerous enough to bend the fabric of time & space. In Tesla Note, a group of agents attempts to keep those dangerous ones in check, albeit with two of their top members wise-cracking it all the way through.

Our main heroes of Tesla Note are high schooler Botan Negoro and Agent Kuruma, who start things off on a shaky note. Kuruma can’t understand why someone so young is tasked to retrieve something as dangerous as the Tesla Fragments. But it’s on Botan’s first mission where Kuruma sees the potential in the young girl. However, it doesn’t help when Botan constantly rubs her potential in his face, especially with one of the smuggest faces you’ll ever come across in manga.

The danger these Tesla Fragments holds is showcased in the damage that it causes. Trains, cars, and other vehicles are mangled to bits, with the people inside melted along the walls. But as there are always people craving chaos, a committee known as “Little House” attempts to steal these fragments for their own personal gains. And if they get a hand on the one known as the Tesla Note, well, let’s just say it could be Game Over for Planet Earth!

すべてのキャラクターがそうなのですが、性格やバックボーンの設定をする前にすでに外見は決まっていました。

スカイハイは外見のイメージとは逆に性格付けを振ったりしたのですが、この人についてはその外見を生かして考えようと進めました。ルナティックの覆面に手形があったので、なぜこの手形をつけているのかを掘り下げようと

Like all the characters, his appearance was already decided before establishing his backstory and personality.

Sky High was used to show a contrasting personality and image, but I proceeded to think about the reason for Lunatic's appearance. Such as the handprint on his mask. I tried to dig deep into why he was wearing this handprint.

そこで、思いついたのが、初めて能力が発動したときに相手を殺してしまい、そのとき、相手の手形が顔に、という展開です。それから殺害したのは父親にしよう、そして父親はあの人に・・・・と膨らませていきました。このアイデアはデザインを見てわりとすぐに浮かんだのを覚えています。

So, what I came up with is that when his ability activated for the first time, it killed his opponent, whose handprint was left on his face at the time. Then I thought, let's make his father spurn him (TN: actual word is "inflate"), so he kills his father. I remember coming up with this idea as soon as I saw the design.
