ROBOT MASTER ROUND UP PART 2
Today we're gonna be running through Doctor Wily's first set of combat robots! That's not the only notable thing though, we're going to list the real world creators of these robot masters. Every Mega Man game after 1 and before 9 had a contest to create boss characters! Like always we'll be using their Mega Man & Bass bios with added information.
Tumblr media
DWN.009: METAL MAN (メタルマン)
DESIGNED BY MASANORI SATOU
Based on Cut Man, he is the first model built by Wily. However, he had a flaw: he was weak against the Mega Buster... And also due to the power of his own weapon he was weak to it himself.
"Heheheh, chopped in half..."
Good Point: Quick at work Bad Point: Very shrewd Like: Frisbees Dislike: Dogs
Tumblr media
DWN.010: AIR MAN (エアーマン)
DESIGNED BY YOUJI KANAZAWA
A robot that creates wind with his giant propeller. He can create winds as strong as a typhoon. Though with Wood Man's Leaf Shield he becomes no problem at all to the... Green Bomber?
"What do you want? I'll blow ya away!"
Good Point: Has character Bad Point: Patronizing Like: Menko Dislike: Defoliation season
Tumblr media
DWN.011: BUBBLE MAN (バブルマン)
DESIGNED BY TAKASHI TANAKA
The world's first humanoid robot designed specifically for underwater use. However, due to a design error, he can only move by swimming. Doctor Wily didn't think him through very well... But that plays into your advantage as you can take him out with the Metal Blades!
"I'll turn you to sea waste!"
Good Point: Big-hearted Bad Point: Wasteful of money Like: Hot springs Dislike: Oil
Tumblr media
DWN.012: QUICK MAN (クイックマン)
DESIGNED BY HIROFUMI MIZOGUCHI
The fastest robot. Based on Elec Man. He uses his speed to confuse his enemies and then fires Quick Boomerangs. His speed can only be stopped with Flash Man's Time Stopper. But he does take damage from the Mega Buster.
"Can you keep up with my speed?!"
Good Point: Early to bed early to rise Bad Point: Restless Like: Car racing Dislike: Turtles
Tumblr media
DWN.013: CRASH MAN (クラッシュマン)
DESIGNED BY AKIRA YOSHIDA
His special weapon is a drill-shaped time bomb, the Crash Bomb. His armor is thick enough to withstand the blast of his explosions. His weakness is the Air Shooter which sends him flying up into the sky.
"They call me the destroyer."
Good Point: Open-hearted Bad Point: Clumsy hands Like: Demolishing buildings Dislike: Recycling
Tumblr media
DWN.014: FLASH MAN (フラッシュマン)
DESIGNED BY TOMOU YAMAGUCHI
The Time Stopper allows him to stop the flow time for a short while. Sometimes, he abuses it in the bath... I didn't even know he could take baths. He's weak to the Crash Bomb, but make sure to watch out as he can move in his world of stopped time.
"I'll mess you up while you're stopped!"
Good Point: Friendly to subordinates Bad Point: Whiny Like: Cameras Dislike: Wig commercials
Tumblr media
DWN.015: HEAT MAN (ヒートマン)
DESIGNED BY TOSHIYUKI KATAOKA
A robot based on Fire Man. He is equipped with a compressed blaster that can reach 12,000 degrees. The Bubble Lead will tear through him and put out his flames though!
"Just a moment, I'll light it up."
Good Point: Works at his own pace Bad Point: Unenthusiastic Like: Barbecue Dislike: Ice cream
Tumblr media
DWN.016: WOOD MAN (ウッドマン)
DESIGNED BY MASAKATSU ICHIKAWA
A Japanese cypress robot whose internal mechanisms are also made of wood. Although he is coated, he is still vulnerable to fire... How the hell did Wily figure out how to make a robot entirely out of wood?!
"This is the power of nature!"
Good Point: Kind Bad Point: Fickle Like: Hiking Dislike: Destruction of nature
Tumblr media
Here we are at the end! I hope you all enjoyed this part of the Robot Roundup, Mega Man Legacy Collection has been a big help for getting high quality images of Robot Master artwork. Some of the clearest stuff I've seen yet! Part 3 will be about Mega Man 3's Robots!

Mechagodzilla lore (Part 1)
Here’s a little look into one of the main antagonists of the Godzilla centric side of my AU. The Metallic doppelgänger and would be usurper for the throne, Mechagodzilla!
Tumblr media
The way I have envisioned this iteration of the character is a amalgam of his different depictions over the years. The biggest sources of inspiration being both his Millennium and Monsterverse incarnations, with extra sources both made and unmade.
Tumblr media
Mechagodzilla is a product created by APEX Cybernetics, a powerful company which is run by Kuronuma Mutsumi and his co-founder and business partner Walter Simmons.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The two men met at a New Year’s party while Walter was visiting Tokyo in 1978. The two soon realised they both shared the same aspirations and fascination with technological advancement. So the two joined together to form APEX as it is known today.
Together with ruthless leadership and aggression, APEX was able to claw its way through the business hierarchy. Creating a colossal monopoly over the world market. With hundreds of subsidiaries all over the world.
APEX has served as a major supplier of machinery and equipment for the military industry. Having previously worked with the PPAMDF (Pan-Pacific Anti-Megafauna Defence Force) to develop new weapons in the effort to combat the Kaiju threat across the world. With Mechagodzilla being the latest and most advanced weapon to be created.
However, not everything is as it seems…
Tumblr media
Kuronuma and some others in his employment are actually aliens in disguise. Who plot to use the Mech to conquer the planet. Then auction it off to other alien species in a colossal bidding war. Kuronuma (Real name: Kulu-Elu Rolu-Be) was once a great general of the race known as the Bilusaludo who was exiled for war crimes in a war against one of their enemies. Alongside other convicts, Kuro was imprisoned abroad the prison station Iron Rock for several years. Until he broke out with his fellow Simians.
Tumblr media
Fleeing escape and evading arrest by the Star League of Sol, Kuro and his team arrived on Earth where he created the Black Hole 3 Syndicate to carry out criminal activities on Earth.
Kuro hopes that once the auction ends he will have enough money to use against his people by creating a army of Mechas and overthrow the government of his species. Ruling it as a military dictatorship. Spoiler but his home world ends up being sucked into a black hole. He discovers that fact when his schemes on earth have failed and is forced to flee the planet.
(Now back to Mechagodzilla!)
APEX salvages the remains of the original Godzilla to use as a biological wireframe for the Mech to be constructed around.
Tumblr media
Grafting the skeleton into the metallic shell via genetic engineered nerve tissue to allow the Mech to move. With a techno-organic brain implanted into the creature’s skull. This brain has a series of wires that act like nerves that connect throughout the body of the Mecha. This brain is operated by the AI AKIRA, however it is simply a co-pilot program. The purpose of the programme serving as a means of transmitting orders from the real source of control.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
From a specialised neural interface chamber constructed by APEX, a human pilot is able to control the Mech’s movements and actions. Amplifying psionic energy to create a drift connection between mech and pilot, connected by a satellite from Earth’s orbit to control the Mech without the pilot required to operate the machine manually inside it. Although this option remains available for use should the receiver on the Mech be damaged. With the cockpit of the Mech being stored inside its neck region.
Mechagodzilla is built with all the latest technology and tools in combating the Kaiju. Armour piercing missiles capable of borrowing into the flesh of enemy monsters. Powerful shredding metal claws and a drill at the end of its tail. His most powerful weapon being the Mega Buster cannon. A cannon housed in its oral cavity which weaponises refractive light, creating a rainbow like appearance when fired. He has numerous other weapons, but I’ll include those in a separate list for the future.
Despite being one of the most advanced machines to be created by humanity. Mechagodzilla does have some flaws.
Tumblr media
Turns out using the bones of a dead Kaiju and grafting nerves to it wasn’t the best idea APEX had. Despite its death, the spirit of the dead Gojira was roused from its rest and began to exert its influence over the Mech. Wrestling with AKIRA and its pilot for control of the Mech’s motor and weapons system. In most instances the spirit usurps any and all control of the Mech. Shutting off connections to the neural network temporarily.
Sorry, but I’m going to have to cut this short. Because I got a crap ton more to show, but this post is pretty big enough. So, I’ll be splitting it into parts. Hope you enjoyed this, stay tuned for more details and information about this project in the future!

Hero crack
Trying to find a good scenario where Megaman can use a pun or puns, but I am so bad at making those types of scenarios
I will keep on trying though
Mega: Lan, listen to some cool one liners I thought of for when I fight bad guys
Lan: I have a terrible feeling about this…
Mega: Okay so I’ve got my Buster, right? *ahem* Time to bust these guys up!
Lan: *groans*
Mega: Yeah not my best one. Okay here’s another! I’ve got a sword now. *does some slicing motions* I think this guy got the point!
Lan: …
Mega: Now I’m using fire! Is it hot in here? Or is it just me?
Lan: *puts his head in his hands*
Mega: Now I’m using wind! It’s time to blow you away!
Lan: *gives Mega his wallet*
Mega: What are you doing?
Lan: That’s all the money I own. Please, please take it and don’t hurt me anymore!
Mega: *deadpan* Oh haha Lan…

Enter Into The World Of Adventures With The Sequel Of Mega Hit Temple Final Run Coming Along With A New Idea Of Escaping From Dragons Of Snowy Castle. How far can you get? With over a million downloads, temple final run redefined mobile gaming. Run 3 is an endless runner game where you need to navigate your little alien through space.

#IMAGES OF TEMPLE RUN 3 APK#
There Are Two Ways You Can Play Run 3:īefore installing temple run apk mod, you need to uninstall the original version or another mod version. Temple run 2, developed by imangi, is an infinite runner where the player must escape from his enemy and avoid all the obstacles and traps that are found along the way. But as Temple Run keeps racing to more fans and money, the franchise is marking a course for other entrepreneurial game makers to follow.Gives you coins even if your not on the right lane for them. If early user reviews and numbers continue, Shepherd is hopeful the second release can become as big as the original, even as his own company avoids rapid growth.įor a franchise with long-term relevance, Rovio’s birds may be the safer bet. Still the new game looks noticeably more lush and grown-up than its predecessor while retaining the formula that made the first one such a surprise hit. Its endless course game play is perhaps not best suited for the easily distracted or frustrated (trust me). Playing the games side by side, it’s clear that the new game will please old fans while perhaps bringing in new ones. But the original game’s engine could only allow for so much tweaking. Players of the new game can enjoy bigger and more detailed environments, as well as a broader range of obstacles and power-ups to use. While trailing the Angry Birds franchise, the original game was downloaded over 2.5 million times on Christmas Day, and Imangi periodically updated that title. Shepherd insists Temple Run 2 is not simply a play to cash in on the team's earlier mega-hit. Temple Run has its own games, apparel and comics. Partnerships like the Temple Run: Brave with Disney should keep money flowing in, as well as a move into arcade machines and games for chains like Dave & Buster’s and Chuck E. More lucratively, the studio has also gone the route of Rovio and ‘Cut the Rope’ maker ZeptoLab by looking to form corporate partnerships and merchandise its franchise's characters and style of game play. Still, that's not an obscene amount when one considers the massive scale of the game's user base.įor Temple Run 2, Shephered says Imangi will actually make more money by sticking to the 'freemium' model. The original Temple Run has generated over $1 million in revenue, much of that from after Imangi switched to a free-to-play model that cashes in only when users purchase character and game play upgrades. So how much money does having one of the most popular games in smartphone history get you? That depends on your perspective. Through his humility, you can still hear the pride in Shepherd's voice when he discusses his game's success. (Incidentally, Shepherd says there’s actually more game developer talent in Raleigh than in the nation’s capital anyway). The couple works from a home office, and when they moved following their first game's success, it was to Raleigh, North Carolina, to start a family. Shepherd and Luckyanova have hired support, marketing, and public relations help, but for the game design itself they simply hired several friends from the independent developer community to work part time on the art and programming. It took more than two people to build Temple Run 2, but probably not as many as you’d think. “We are programmers at heart, and we love writing the game.” “We could just grow the team drastically to 20 or 30 people, but we like being small,” he says. The team hasn’t grown much since then, by the founders' design. The pair had already released games before like ‘Harbor Master,’ but Temple Run unlocked scale on a whole new level. Shepherd says they quickly had to hire a staffer just to handle ballooning customer support.

Mission 3: Pairs
Decker: Spheres drive off a TPU squad guarding Neomegas' remains, and assimilate them to form Sphere-Neomegas. GUTS-Select are on high alert, Asakahe installs the proper control system for Terraphaser into Hanejiro, and Kanata starts thinking about goals. In battle, any damage GUTS Gryphon does is immediately regenerated by Spheres, and Decker fights, but is defeated when protecting Ichika and Ryumon, Sphere-Neomegas then starts spreading something like roots below the ground, as Spheresaurus did a year ago. Murahoshi blames himself for Kanata being shot down, but he tries to focus on training. After the members discuss bettering themselves, Hanejiro requests to Murahoshi and AsKahe they use TR Mega Buster. Unlike Spheresaurus taking energy, Sphere-Neomegas is putting it in. Hanejiro pilots Terraphaser to battle while Kaizaki leads aground team. Unable to get an opening, Hanejiro creates a distraction so Kanata can become Decker. The TR Mega Buster is so powerful that several troops on the ground are sent flying, and Terraphaser is damaged just by firing it, but Sphere-Neomegas is destroyed. Examining Hanejiro's data later so he can make adjustments, Asakahe discovers a folder Hanejiro has super encrypted, and opens it, discovering Kanata is Decker.
Geats: Michinaga had a friend, Toru, who was lost to a previous DGP, which is part of his resentment towards Ace, so he is annoyed when he finds himself working on a house of Ace's for a TV show. The latest mission is pairs, the Riders split in pairs, the lowest scoring team will be eliminated. By lottery, Ace is paired with Neon, Keiwa with Michinaga, and Mary is given DGP staffer Kamen Rider Punkjack. Each pair is also given a lootbox, Keiwa getting another Boost Buckle, Neon a Claw Buckle, and Mary a Chain-Array Buckle, lending Punkjack his Shield Buckle. In the first round of battle no one scores, every time a Trump Jamato seems to be defeated it gets back up. In the break Keiwa negotiates to get the Zombie Buckle for Michinaga after hearing certain buckles are suited to certain riders, Neon accepts the trade if he hands over Boost as well as Magnum. In the second round, Neon and Ace have worked out they need to defeat 2 matching Jamato at the same time, and so are the only scorers. In the next break, Mary is annoyed about Punkjack, thinking him a crutch, so the host informs him he can use Desire Money to buy a ticket to reroll the lottery. At first this seems to be rejected, but after Michinaga tells Ace he wants to see him gone from the world, Mary approaches, revealing he bought the ticket.
Donbrothers: I do love that Jiro is the only one who knew Inuzaka was InuBrother, Kaito of course knows, but isn't telling. In the battle with the weight obsessed TensouKi, InuBrother is still disturbed by what he saw, and hardly hears Don Momotaro telling him to meet them at Donbura afterwards, and then a bunch of dogs do actually turn up. Inui Ryuji is a struggling musician, the one person who supported him, Shoko, recently disappeared. In the next attempt to catch him InuBrother goes flying, and lands headfirst into Ryuji, dropping his sunglasses before being teleported back without them. A confused Ryuji is assumed to be InuBrother, and roped into the next battle, struggling with the circumstances. Inuzaka is left wondering what is up with them, and then sees he has a price on his head and thinks Don Momotaro planned to take him in, but only for a moment, before stumbling upon the battle after finding he lost the glasses, taking his powers back when Ryuji loses them. TensouKi escapes again, only to decide to take advantage of an all-you-can-eat offer, where the owner is impressed with his appetite and she tells him he doesn't need to diet, the love awakening in him chasing him to expel TensouKi. Inuzaka and Ryuji talk, and Inuzaka encourages him to be InuBrother, if only so they don't try to capture him again. He joins up, but plays up the loner edgy black hero image, impressing the others with his cool lines. Inuzaka goes to Kijino in private. Turns out Kijino met Miho as a salon customer, coming every day to profess his love, until sue accepted his feelings the day she gave him his current haircut. Inuzaka is reminded of Natsumii's beautician dream, but is still not 100% certain. When he sees her coming though, he is more certain, running before Kijino can introduce her, only for Ryuji to run up believing her to be Shoko, Kijino and Ryuji coming to blows and before Inuzaka can do anything he has to run from police, while the two refuse to work together. The two are about to actually fight, but Miho arrives, points out she married Kijino, and so Ryuji is irrelevant, and demonstrates their love, Ryuji in despair becomes possessed by TensouKi. The fight begins and the glasses return to Inuzaka, who becomes aware he's caused the situation and joins in. Jiro joins, and blocks an attack by becoming Dratorajin, so Don Onitaijin follows suit, and quickly defeats him. Shoko, who looks nothing like Miho, returns to Ryuji, and Inuzaka reflects on his loneliness and heads to Donbura, where the team discuss the continuing mystery.
Futo PI: In the Shadow Futo, Brachiosaurus chases down and consumes a man. Tokime has been troubled by the fact she was a Dopant, especially after Phillip was able to identify her Memory as being the Joker Memory, Shotaro assures her they'll work through things together if they manage to get it working. The current client is 12 year old Rando Ritsuka, who brings them to her father Reiichi at Rando Engineering Workshop, who are a highly respected parts manufacturer, a client came for an estimate on a certain part, which Reiichi's father, the company founder Rentaro, took on and produced a prototype, he disappeared when delivering it to the client, Ritsuka had seen the client seemingly vanish in a dead end alleyway before. They get an image, and encounter Jinno and Terui, who have started a police investigation after another department ignored the missing persons report. While they investigate the handover location, Tokime is drawn to an alleyway by sensing Bando, and seeing a card touches it, which opens and socks her into Shadow Futo. Shotaro tries to find where she wandered off, as Tokime, now in Shadow Futo, remembers the city is full of Dopants like Beast, Sweets and Triceratops, and wonders why she thought she shouldn't leave. A Dopant lakes at her and us destroyed by Brachiosaurus, and remembering more she runs to try and get back to Shotaro. The others discuss, Rentaro questioned the true purpose of the part and was probably kidnapped for that. Shotaro hears Tokime's voice, as she manages to escape back into the hideout from Shadow Futo. She starts warning, but is dragged back by Brachiosaurus. W and Accel leap in, and find the client, who tells them Bando must have invited Tokime and Rentaro after working it the valve's purpose ran off into the city. This man, Nikaido Mamoru, will the the City's next executive, as the power source of Shadow Futo, he becomes the Reactor Dopant. In a bid to resist this output they use HeatMetal, but even two Maximum Drives do nothing, while Tokime awakens, and Brachiosaurus reminds her this is her home, deactivating his transformation, and showing he is just a schoolboy, as he greets Tokime.

PLAYING: Mega Man Legends
Tumblr media
Ah yes, a wonderful PS1 classic. Exactly what I needed. Exactly what I always need.
I played through three Star Wars games back to back: Dark Forces 2, Mysteries of the Sith, and Jedi Outcast. What I hoped to get out of these games was strongly Star Wars themed action adventures that were pickup-and-play. They were that, for the most part. But the levels were overly long, the difficulty uneven, and the complete experiences were mostly...exhausting. So when choosing my next game, I felt like I needed something more “reliable”. Mega Man Legends might be just what I was looking for...
I played the game as a teen in the 90s. It blew me away. Not sure I had played a Mega Man game, but I knew of them as 2D run-n-gunners. So to see a 3D Mega Man, with voice acting, cut scenes, and a full-fledged story was surprising. And it wasn’t like every game at this time were of this caliber. Resident Evil 2. Metal Gear Solid, and Ocarina of Time hadn’t been released yet. This game was blazing new trails!
Now...that’s not to say it’s a complete original. Tomb Raider had already shown the world how 3D platforming shooters could work. And much of MGL is RPG-inspired. Still, there was decent anime voice acting, and cut scenes. The graphics were doing the best they cool for 1997 on the PS1, and the art-direction is still a delight now in 2021. But what really always blew me away was how the buster-canon could be customized. You bought add-ons that boosted specific stats: power, range, fire-rate, and energy (clip-size). You could customize the canon with certain combinations to fit your play style or the situation. I’m really disappointed more games haven’t ripped this off completely (looking at you Borderlands!).
What I really love about this game is the freedom. That’s what makes all great games to me, a sense of freedom to enjoy the world presented. And I love getting to explore and find secrets. Anyway, I’ve enjoyed this game in the past and I’ve restarted it many times, but I’ve never beaten it. That changes now. I’m committed.
The controls (playing on Duckstation) kinda suck. You move forward, back, and left-right with the D-Pad. To turn (rotate) you have to use the shoulder buttons. It’s a precursor to the now-standard two-stick shooter controls of all FPS’s. But at this time, it was a complicated concert of actions to get around. Luckily, the environments aren’t too crazy: usually just straight hallways and large, open spaces. But some challenges are only challenges because of the controls. This is made more annoying by the fact that you can’t shoot while moving.
Well...you can. But only when moving forward or sideways. Not while backwards or turning. I think this is fixed in MML2--but not sure.
There’s a Lock-on button to help with the shooting, but it can occasionally focus on the wrong target. But even without the lock-on, there’s a pretty helpful auto-aim for targets mostly in front of Mega Man.
The difficulty pacing of the game is...well it’s bad. But that’s because as much as the game likes to hold your hand with tutorials and gameplay explanation, they don’t do a great job ensuring you’re properly equipped. I remember playing a few times and finding the first “bosses” to be brutally difficult. You basically go from exploring a short beginner’s dungeon to fighting three boss fights back to back. And these are not easy-going boss fights. These are “hope you’ve mastered these awkward ass controls” boss fights.
But the problem, it seems, is that I just wasn’t prepared. I double-checked a shop before going into the fights and found I was able to upgrade my health points by about 3 notches. I bought a health flask, and upgraded it as well. And then I was able to buy buster parts to make my canon  more formidable. This time, each boss fight was...not easy--but not frustrating. I didn’t fail any of the objectives, and found I could take a few risks without fear of losing. So now I’ve made it a point to constantly visit shops and grind some Zenny for upgrades.
This is where the RPG-ness comes in. While you don’t earn XP and level up--money (zenny) can be used to purchase health, armor, and weapon upgrades. You can also find weapon upgrades in the “dungeons”. Not all combat happens in dungeons. Much of the fighting has been above ground, in forests and towns.
The dungeons are pretty simple. They’re basically on grid-layouts with hallways leading to a variety of open rooms. It would be super easy to randomly generate these kinds of levels. And while I get some Zelda vibes from the treasure chests, the dungeons lack any sort of creative puzzle solving or unique tools and obstacles.
Given that the story of this game is that “diggers” (treasure seekers, tomb raiders--whatever you wanna call em) are exploring underground dungones/vaults for riches, the game could have easily been about finding islands with dungeons and exploring them. I mean, this game could totally function as a Sea of Thieves, and be infinitely playable. But I’m not sure games as such were really in the minds of designers at the time. So instead they created something more linear and story-driven. Which totally works.
Speaking of story--it’s silly. Mega Man is a “Digger” that goes around looking for refractor power sources. It seems this is a post-apocalypse world where oceans have risen to engulf much of the mainland (climate change warning??). To have power, the new cities that have formed must scavenger power from subterranean labyrinths filled with hostile robots. But while the Diggers appear to be generally well-meaning, there are pirates who seek power for power’s sake.
There’s a legendary abundance of energy called the Mother Lode. Um...Ok. It’s supposedly underneath this specific city that Mega Man and friends just so happen to crash land at. So Pirates have begun attacking the city to claim it. One of them is a girl named Tron Bonne. While she works with her pirate family and their army of super cute lego-looking robots, she develops a crush on Mega Man after he saves her from a tiny dog. It’s kind of an interesting development as you see signs of the pirates and Tron before the invasion truly begins.
Beyond that, there’s not a ton of plot development. It’s really more character driven. Not super complicated characters, but people trying to live their lives while pirates bomb the library (why the library??).
I’m hitting the point in the game I reached when I first played as a teen. That first time was the furthest I’d ever gotten. So once I’m past that, it’ll be all new territory. I can’t wait!
While playing this, though, I can’t get Elder Scrolls out of my mind. I’ve really wanted to play through Morrowind or Oblivion. That thought has made me wish MML was open world like ES.

Power Scaling
I really did take my work from the easiest to hardest this year so far. Cause those drones I made took about 2-3 days each in production and then the Robots would take 3-4 days and now finally, the Androids. Which have taken 3-5 days to complete.
And unlike the Drones and Robots, the Androids had only been sent back for some organizational suggestions. Like "Oh you should put this folder in here not there."
The first Drone Pack had been sent back because they thought I could make more combat animations. Specifically a death animation. But I added even more stuff.
So when I went on to the other drones, I could did a lot more.
So each one averaged had at least 13 animations.
Drone 1 had 16 animations.
Drone 2 had 14 animations.
And
Drone 3 had 14 animations
When i moved onto the Radical Robots Series, I make a lot more complex rigs. They were all bipeds, and 2 of them even had mouths and eyes to blink. (Drone 3 which is a lot like Ghost from Destiny, has a shell and a blinking eye.)
My favorite of the Robot series is Robot 2. I think he looks cute and I really nailed it compared to the concept art.
He also has some of my favorite animations I’ve done. His bobbing antennas, blinking eyes and jaw flopping. His Buster cannon.
Its been fun projects. Projects that as I go forward, escalates in difficulty and complexity.
They helped me get used to rigging in Blender with minimal use of Plugins. Up until January this year, I had just been using ARP from Artel. Thats Auto Rig Pro, a super helpful plugin that automates the rigging process as much as possible. You still have to move the joints around depending on the model. The reason I really like it is the way it gives me all those cool controllers. But this plugin has been a crutch that hasn’t let me take the time to learn true rigging.
So I’ve been making my rigs for these projects. Until I got to the Android series.
I had this theory for this other plugin in use whenever I need animations for the UE4 Mannequin.
Its Mr.Mannequin tools.
So I’d load in the rig that comes with the plugin and not load the mesh and I would grab the model I made (the Androids in Android Series) and parent them to the rig. So I’d have them automatically on the UE4 skeleton. Its really cool. I’m surprised I hadn’t seen anyone talk about this usage of the plugin. I don’t think Kroovy even mentions in the documentation. Maybe he does. It has just a theory of Mine.
And it worked. So each Android in the series is rigged to the Mannequin. So if there are marketplace animations the user would like check out, they’ll be able to use those.
This also means all the animations I made for them are on the UE4 Skeleton.
Why do I say all this?
Well, because i feel that I’ve been to spread and grow as a 3D artist in more ways than one. Getting better at characters, Anatomy, Rigging and Animations. I learned a ton of new tricks in the past 2 months (January and February) and I can’t even imagine what I might be making the rest of this year.
Well, of course I have a plans. They’re more Sketchfab related though as that’s the place I’ve been getting the most sales.
BUT I will be uploading said assets to the marketplace.
If you saw some of my recent uploads to youtube and sketcfab, you might have an idea on what’s to come.
Its important to find things that challenge you. That force you to grow in ways that you didn’t even think possible. I guess it eventually leads to some sort of skill singularity. But I mean like, unless you are some kind of Immortal, I doubt you’d reach that. of course, challenging yourself doesn’t mean not having fun in your work.
I’ve enjoyed every minute of working on these characters. Some more than others. I’m not exactly %100 happy with Robot 1 and 3 especially when compare to robot 2.
But I’m proud that did so much in so little time and that it looks so well. I’ve already uploaded 10 assets to the UE4 marketplace and the last android is almost done. By then, it’ll be 13. (I’m also uploading the Android bundle and a Full Metal Mega pack that has all 9 Drones, Robots and Androids. Buy that one and save a ton of money.)
So keep it up. Don’t over work yourself, but push yourself. Push yourself hard to fortify and gain even more endurance. Art is like exercise. If you aren’t pushing yourself, you aren’t doing much. Stretch those muscles and flex your skills.
Anyway I guess I’m writing this cause I submitted an asset pack today and they didn’t send it back with something to fix.
So thats Pog.
If you wanna see it, here it is.

Ranking : The Coen Brothers (1954/1957 - present)
Tumblr media
Directing a film can be one of the most vast, task oriented and stress inducing undertakings imaginable, which makes it odd that more directing duos, specifically sibling duos, do not exist.  Sibling duos like the Wachowskis, Hughes, Farrellys, Safdies and even the Zellners have made names for themselves, but one set of siblings easily towers above the rest : the Coen brothers.  With nearly 20 films under their belt, and nearly as many stylistic varieties and storytelling approaches found within, it is hard to argue the impression they have left on moviegoers worldwide over the past nearly four decades they’ve existed professionally.  With such a stellar record of films under their collective belts, I’ve decided to do the most stress-inducing task of all : rank these films from least to most favorite.
Tumblr media
18. Intolerable Cruelty (2003) For a duo with so much distinct style and flair for storytelling, this film feels the least like a Coen Brothers film.  If anything, this feels like a script that sat on a shelf in pre-development hell, possibly for years, only for someone considering themselves a bit of a ‘maverick’ or ‘forward thinker’ to discover it and think that a dose of Coen Brothers magic could save it.  Even with the star power of George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones behind it, this one feels a bit too ‘by the numbers’ to stand out from an oeuvre that nears perfection.
Tumblr media
17. Hail, Caesar! (2016) I’ll be completely honest with you all... I don’t remember much about this film.  I remember enjoying it, but I don’t remember being blown away by it.  I remember enjoying the colorful display of old Hollywood, and it’s always refreshing to see George Clooney lean into roles that border upon slapstick.  For as much as I found this film not all that memorable, however, it stands above Intolerable Cruelty simply because it does not trigger bad memories.
Tumblr media
16. Burn After Reading (2008) This film is what Intolerable Cruelty wanted to be... a property that is a hair closer to by the books, but full of a screwball approach that heralds to a forgotten era of film while using an incredibly stacked cast.  Of all the Coen Brothers films I’ve seen, Burn After Reading feels like the property that all involved enjoyed making the most.  Like many of the Coen Brothers films, the cast on this one is mega-stacked, and from top to bottom, everyone involved shines in roles that go against their standard types, or amplify the most off-beat aspects of their performing ability.
Tumblr media
15. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) The fact that Netflix was able to pull the Coen Brothers for a film is a win in itself, and with the duo choosing to do an anthology piece, Netflix was primed to maximize on their investment.  While highly entertaining, however, the anthology nature of the property leaves it feeling a bit unfocused and disjointed at times... none of these stories really had enough meat on the bone to be expanded into feature-length films of their own, but for some reason, all parties involved passed on the opportunity to  make a multi-episode serial rather than a film comprised of multiple tales.  While using variance in storytelling methods and visual styles may work for some less talented directors, in the case of The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, it feels more like snack-sized bites in the place of true sustenance.
Tumblr media
14. The Ladykillers (2004) On paper, this film should have been a disaster.  The Coen Brothers generally opt for original stories, so the fact that they chose to adapt such an obscure 1950s property for the modern day was strange, especially in light of the fact that most every element with the exception of Tom Hanks’ character was given a modern update.  Somehow, despite all of this oddness, The Ladykillers managed to capture a sense of the classic Coen Brothers slapstick comedy that they famously established themselves with early on in their career.  Tom Hanks is given the green light to go completely ridiculous, and to much of the viewers’ delight, he does so with great aplomb.  His supporting cast shines, the comedic turn brings new energy to the story, and the southern gospel setting brings a rich sense of spirituality to an otherwise run of the mill film.
Tumblr media
13. O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2000) The Coen Brothers were essentially household names by the turn of the 20th century, but O Brother, Where Art Thou? propelled them into a legendary status.  The grassroots mix of The Odyssey and the Robert Johnson crossroads legend took on a life of its own, leaving behind a soundtrack that birthed an entire generation of folk and bluegrass enthusiasts, as well as a film that showed the world George Clooney’s comedic chops.  Much like The Ladykillers, O Brother puts viewers deep into the unfamiliar territory of Southern ‘discomfort’, with the African-American experience playing a major role in the narrative.  Of all the Coen Brothers films one could use to introduce a stranger to their catalog, this one may be the best, as its infectious nature and stunning look leaves an impression on most anyone who has the pleasure to view it.
Tumblr media
12. True Grit (2010) The Coen Brothers had already covered a wide bit of genre ground within their first three decades, but surprisingly, they’d not done a true western up to that point (though many argue that No Country For Old Men is a modern take on the western).  Therefore, when it was announced that their first western would be a remake of the iconic John Wayne film True Grit, many were surprised, and curious if they could pull it off.  Not only did they pull it off, but in my humble opinion, they made a version that more than holds its own against the original.  For the handful of big name and seasoned actors that signed on, it was the breakthrough performance of relative newcomer Hailee Steinfeld that outshined all.  While The Ballad of Buster Scruggs was a fun revisit to the world of the western, True Grit was the kind of achievement that makes me want more traditional westerns from the duo.
Tumblr media
11. The Man Who Wasn’t There (2001) Listing the Coen Brothers films is by far the most difficult ranking I’ve done to date, and the first film that really gave me trouble in terms of placement was The Man Who Wasn’t There.  Personally, I find this film to be captivating and nearly flawless... Billy Bob Thornton’s detachment is rich and intrusive, which makes it all the more sinister when he does choose to exude even a hint of passion about something, be it positive or negative.  The black and white photography, in league with the tone of the film, puts me in the mindset of films like In Cold Blood, and some of the sequences in the film stand out as some of the most iconic in the world of Coen Brothers films, especially the car crash.  For a classic-style film noir, a genre that anyone with half a brain knew was a slam dunk for the Coens, the duo went above and beyond to both modernize and wholly embody the style.  One of several Coen Brothers films that sits with you long after the final credits have faded away.
Tumblr media
10. Inside Llewyn Davis (2013) If this isn’t the darkest comedy in the Coen collection, it’s certainly giving the number one contender a run for its money.  The intimacy of this film is unmatched within the broader collection of Coen characters, excluding The Dude, but the difference between Llewyn and The Dude is the personality equivalent of the difference between oil and water.  You may marvel at Llewyn’s talent, but all the while, the film is screaming at you that “THIS IS A CHARACTER YOU SHOULD NOT ROOT FOR”.  The symbolism found in the film is minimal while being incredibly effective in how it punctuates Llewyn’s personality and character, and the story structure is an equally subtle swerve that baits you into paying deeper attention, only to realize that the setup was the punchline the entire time.
Tumblr media
9. The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) I’m a sucker for a Coen Brothers comedy, especially the ones that play like human cartoons, and one of their absolute best was The Hudsucker Proxy.  The writing on this film is so tight that it would absolutely pop if it were any tighter.  The entire A Christmas Carol-esque approach to the story makes it a wonderful moralistic tale that makes people laugh so much that they often don’t realize they are being taught a lesson about morals, integrity and self-respect.  Tons of familiar character actors fill the frames, everyone tasked with supporting roles fit firmly and comfortably into the created world, and the man trio of Tim Robbins, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Paul Newman are functioning on genius levels of performance... especially Jennifer Jason Leigh.  While not quite a holiday movie, there is enough of a holiday sense that it could be shoehorned into a seasonal viewing, but any time set aside for this gem is the right time to watch it.
Tumblr media
8. Barton Fink (1991) In my humble opinion, this may be the strongest end to end performance from John Turturro in his long and storied career.  As clear-cut fans of film, it is always a pleasure to see the Coen Brothers explore the world of film, and by using this approach, they are able to tell a bold, brash and haunting tale about the issues that come with assumptions about character and talent.  The takes on Hollywood and the indifference of those in power, especially when it comes to assisting young and promising talents that may one day usurp them, and powerful.  The real bow on the story, however, is the larger than life presence of John Goodman, who goes from being a slightly aggressive and overbearing sense of support to a literal madman by both name and action.  For a film that mainly consists of individuals talking to one another about passion, talent and secrets, there is a kinetic energy that feeds the forward momentum of this movie, and for that, it stands out in the Coen collection.
Tumblr media
7. Miller’s Crossing (1990) It’s not surprising that the Coen Brothers could make a compelling and memorable gangster film, but I don’t think that anyone expected a film as vicious and dark as Miller’s Crossing.  For a duo that generally relies on nuance and contemplation to get their points across, this film certainly proves that they are more than capable of excelling in the direct approach as well.  The era-specific costuming is outstanding, the murky city areas stand in stark contrast to the woods of the titular Miller’s Crossing, and the sheer volume of bullets are a stark reminder of the Prohibition-era story we are viewing.  Gabriel Byrne shines in his lead role, bringing a world of fury, deceit and mistrust in tow with him.  The iconic hat blowing in the wind serves as not only the biggest memorable moment from the film, but possibly also the single moment of peace and beauty found in a film that holds up a dirty mirror to a dark world.
Tumblr media
6. A Serious Man (2009) Of all Coen Brothers films, this is easily the most underappreciated and slept on of the bunch.  I’m a sucker for movies that embrace Murphy’s Law, and when mixed with the parable nature of the Book of Job, we are presented with a darkly comic and relatively unique version of the hero’s journey.  The way that the personal, professional and philosophical problems pile up on Michael Stuhlbarg’s Larry are meant to be felt by the audience, and the way that his bad luck boomerangs out into the world during the film’s resolution must be seen in order to be believed.  The way that destiny and chance dance around one another in this film is narratively breathtaking, and for such a subtle film, it is a truly remarkable achievement.
Tumblr media
5. No Country For Old Men (2007) When you think of the Coen Brothers, you don’t necessarily think of evil incarnate, and yet, the duo succeeded in capturing a character in the form of Anton Chigurh, the closest thing to the Terminator that the duo has ever created (to my knowledge).  The story is a wonderful, subtle tale of how the times can change into something we don’t recognize before we recognize the change, but it is easily Javier Bardem’s iconic performance that gives this film all of its power and ominous energy.  His unyielding forward momentum, his disdain for obstacles in any form, and his disregard for human life are enough to instill real fear into those who partake in viewings, and his presence will more than likely haunt you far beyond completion of the film.  A true modern-day masterpiece that would have been higher, if not for...
Tumblr media
4. Blood Simple (1984) What a powerful debut, and one that not only hinted at, but outright put the spotlight on the promise of the Coen Brothers when it came to stark visuals and stunning storytelling.  For such a simple, small scale story, the tangled web that is woven is a slippery slope of deception and distrust that leaves little to no survivors in its wake.  The scale of the film is deceptively small, but the quality shines in every aspect that it can.  Seeds are placed that pay off wonderfully, and the color palette presented gives the film the feeling of a Technicolor film-noir.  Much like A Serious Man, Blood Simple deserves to be talked about and held up much more than it is by fans of film.
Tumblr media
3. Raising Arizona (1987) What a wonderfully ridiculous movie about something as simple as the trials and tribulations of navigating love, marriage and parenthood.  The most hilarious aspect of this film, in my opinion, is how it feels like a living and breathing cartoon, both in terms of the character performances and the outrageous events that take place within the world of the film.  Nicolas Cage is operating on a completely different level, Holly Hunter is equal parts charming and hilarious, Trey Wilson is wonderfully over the top, John Goodman and William Forsythe bring excess hilarity to the wild proceedings, and Randall “Tex” Cobb is downright iconic in terms of his ridiculous character.  The pacing of the film is breakneck and feverish, the comedy hits never stop coming, and the utter charm emanating from the midst of the caper presented is infectious.  As a second film, this could not be any more different than Blood Simple, and yet somehow, it connected so vividly with viewers that it remains a must-watch film to this day.
Tumblr media
2. Fargo (1996) What is there to be said about Fargo that has not already been said?  For a duo with more iconic films to their name than some directors have completed films, Fargo was an immediate signal that the limits of the Coen Brothers’ creativity and skill had not even began to show its full breadth.  Within less than five years of release, the film was already heralded as a classic (of all-time, not just modern day), the mystery surrounding its possibility of being based on a true story built a world of intrigue around the movie, and it has gone on to create a universe of its own in the form of an FX TV show that recently wrapped its fourth season.  There is not a wasted role in this film, and to this day, any movie fan worth their salt will happily bust out their version of a Minnesota accent that is almost certainly based on one of the many memorable characters that inhabit the world of Fargo.  Numerous actors, including William H. Macy, Frances McDormand and Steve Buscemi, all found breakout success in the wake of this wonderful film.
Tumblr media
1. The Big Lebowski (1998) Was there ever any doubt for this placement?  For everything that Fargo did in terms of success within the world of the film industry, The Big Lebowski did that and more for the worlds of the counter-culture and cult film fans.  The story we are presented with is so simple, yet so ridiculous in its journey, that it almost insists on viewers revisiting it over and over.  Like many Coen Brothers films, nobody cast in the film is wasted or misused, and due to these stellar performances, the film finds itself as one of the most quotable in recent memory.  Much like the performances of the cast, the writing does not waste any words or opportunities, often referring back to itself in extremely subtle and nuanced ways that present themselves over time, and to hilarious effect.  Nobody would have expected a film of this nature to have a fandom, and yet, the legions of fans for this film are unique to that of the Coen Brothers catalog in the sense of their dedication, devotion to and love of the movie.  While not everyone’s cup of tea upon first viewing, The Big Lebowski is truly an example of the gift that keeps on giving.
If the Coen Brothers never make another film, they’ve already created and achieved more in their journey that most filmmakers can dream of.  Many of their films could honestly be considered works of art, and nearly all of them are compelling with an ability to leave deep and lasting impressions.  If you are unfamiliar with the Coen Brothers, do yourself a favor and check out their work, as it may bring a new sense of invigoration to your love of film.
Editor’s Note (12/10/2020) : Inside Llewyn Davis added to the number 10 position, all films ranked lower adjusted accordingly.

March 2, 2021: The General (Review)
Just like The Gold Rush, this was a charming movie!
Tumblr media
Keaton, unsurprisingly, turned out a fantastic film, especially for the time period. Seriously, it’s insane how well this film holds up today! Shame that it almost ended Keaton’s career altogether. Because this film was NOT successful in 1926, mostly because dude made a film about the Civil War, with the Confederates as the heroes, only about 60 years after the conflict! Yeah, people weren’t hyper-jazzed about that.
UA was now super-against funding films where Keaton had complete and total control. But, he was still Buster Keaton, so they kept him on, but put some restrictions on him. Ironic, given that UA was founded to prevent EXACTLY that. Keaton was not about it, even though the two films that followed were at least somewhat successful. One of them, Steamboat Bill, Jr., produced ANOTHER of the most iconic shots of film history.
Tumblr media
Yeah...wow. But this was the last film that Keaton made with UA, and he moved to another studio after this: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, or MGM. And THAT was a HUGE mistake, because his creativity was heavily restricted by the mega-studio, and they would deny many of his requests. If it weren’t for them, Keaton would’ve broken into talkies FAR earlier than he did, and may have revitalized the entire industry. They also made him use a stunt double, forced dialogue on his scripts when he’d purposely omitted it, etc. He wasn’t happy.
And not just in his career, either. See, it’s around this time that his marriage to Natalie Talmadge completely falls apart. They give it another shot in the early ‘30s, but officially separate and divorce in 1932, with Natalie getting basically all of this money, and taking his kids away from him. This, combined with his struggles with MGM, drove Keaton to alcoholism, and he was institutionalized. There, he met his second wife, nurse Mae Scriven. That lasted 2 years, after an unhappy Keaton cheated on her in 1935. And again, the divorce left Keaton essentially bankrupt.
Tumblr media
MGM was tired of him, too, and in 1933, they fired him. Not a great year for Keaton. He signed on with a few other studios, became a writer for the Marx Bros (more on them tomorrow), and was eventually hired by Columbia Pictures in 1939. And that was...OK, but Keaton wasn’t happy still. And then, on the horizon...look! It’s another marriage! This time, it was to Eleanor Norris, whom he married in 1940. Their marriage would last for 26 years.
And Keaton was still around. This happy marriage apparently stabilized him a little bit, and he’s able to re-release his old films with new music. He also gained new fame on a new medium: television. He appears on talk shows and game shows from the 1940s into the 1960s, while also appearing in films throughout the ‘50s and ‘60s! He eventually made a return, and even had a cameo in...It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World WAIT WHAT
Tumblr media
HOLY SHIT IT IS HIM!!! How did I never know this? One of my favorite comedies of all time, with a metric fuckton of cameos in it, and how did I not know that Buster fuckin’ Keaton was one of them? Hot damn! His last major film appearance was in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum three years later, and at 70 years old, he still did his own stunts and pratfalls. A class act until the end. Literally.
Because, much to his own surprise, he died of terminal lung cancer on February 1, 1966. And I say to his own surprise because...well, nobody ever told him he was diagnosed with cancer. Yeah, he thought he had bronchitis, and was diagnosed a month before his death! He never found out that he had cancer! Isn’t that fucked? Today, he’s buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, in Hollywood, CA, with a hell of a lot of other stars. Crazy, huh?
Tumblr media
Oh, and do yourself a favor: even if you don’t watch his films, just browse this website (or even the GIF feature in post-writing) for GIFs of Buster Keaton. He’s a legend, and you can see why through these GIFs alone. But enough about his career as a whole: what about this film by itself? Well, read this for a Recap, and read on for my Review!
Review
Tumblr media
Cast and Acting: 9/10
Well, first things first, Buster Keaton was a star for a reason. He’s unsurprisingly fantastic in this film, and his comedic stylings are far different from Chaplin’s. His deadpan expression is oddly iconic, and works well in the environs of the film. And that’s not saying anything about the action...but I’ll save that for later. How was everybody else? Marion Mack was pretty good, better than Georgia Hale was in The Gold Rush, anyway. Glen Cavender...existed? Yeah, outside of those two, nobody gets much attention. Granted, it’s Buster Keaton, so the film could get away with that.
Tumblr media
Plot and Writing: 8/10
Obviously, here, we need to focus more on the plot than the writing, but it’s still good! I didn’t touch upon the real historical event this is loosely based on (and I do mean loosely), but it’s an interesting story. Throwing in the love story alongside wasn’t a bad idea, either. Do I think it’s perfect? I mean, no, for a few reasons. Mostly the fact that...this doesn’t really feel like a comedy. Like, I know that it is, and there are enough moments that feel comedic...but just barely. This works far better as an action film than it does a comedy, is what I’m saying. Is it fair to judge it by comedic metrics, then? Maybe not, but this film has always been billed as a comedy, and...I don’t think that fits. Sorry...all five writers of the screenplay. Damn, really? Yeah, alongside Buster Keaton, we’ve also got Al Boasberg, Clyde Bruckman, Charles Henry Smith, and Paul Gerard Smith on this. Huh. OK, then.
Tumblr media
Direction and Cinematography: 10/10
I mean...come on. This is fantastic. Clyde Bruckman and Buster Keaton direct, while Bert Haines and Devereaux Jennings are the cinematographers, and all of them do a fantastic job. I don’t even have much to say here, because the directing and shot composition of this film are wonderful. Seriously, no compaints.
Tumblr media
Production and Art Design: 10/10
THEY. COLLAPSED. A BRIDGE. WITH A TRAIN ON IT. FOR REALSIES.
Tumblr media
Music and Editing: 9/10
Finally, I did enjoy the music for this one! Editing here (by Buster Keaton and Sherman Kell) is great, while the music (by...one of  people, depending on the edition you’re watching), is great! I think my version was by William P. Perry, but I’m genuinely not sure. I version I watched had some great music, though! Not as memorable for me as The Gold Rush, but still fantastic on its own.
Tumblr media
92% capacity on the Hype Train! All aboard!
A hallmark of film history, as previously detailed! But now that that’s done, it’s time to break the silence. See, in 1927, the “sound film” or “talkie” finally came onto the scene, thanks to new cameras and film-making technology. Sound could now be tied with film footage, leading us into a new era for film, and for the comedy genre of film. Now, you could HEAR the jokes, rather than see them. And, as if to make up for lost time, the next burgeoning film stars would be fast-talking, wisecracking jokesters, and the next heirs of the vaudeville era. And one group would take this role above all others. And we’ll look at them next.

Other toys that aren’t that bad: Mega Man: Fully Charged (Jakks Pacific)
(F you, i liked it...)
Tumblr media
Nobody asked for a Mega Man redesign and a cartoon about it.
...Maybe...
But “Fully Charged” would turn out to be Mega Man “1% battery left”, featuring the CG adventures of local robot Aki Light’s secret superhero life as “Mega Man”. Aided by his friends, Suna, Rush and Mega-mini, he saves the city  against the rebellious Robot Masters and various other techno-criminals.
Tumblr media
Perhaps if this appeared back in the early 90′s, it would be a cult classic. But video game properties have evolved so much through decades of established deep lore...and cutscenes...to the point where taking too much creative liberties any further would only detract loyal fans. And that is what happened, airing only one season and nobody buying the toys.
Tumblr media
Mega Man is also a brand that gets thrown around A LOT. A bit too much, really. Bandai, Jazwares, Mattel, Fukno, Kotobukiya, etc have all dipped their hands into the Mega Man money bin to a perpetually endless cycle of shelves blurring in blue bomber bulk.
>time to make Mega Man
>time to make Green Mega Man
>okay okay ONE Robot Ma-OH NO CANCELLED
also:
>Time to make X, time to make Zero, okay time to make BLACK Zero OH NO CANCELLED
oh and:
>Time to make Roll this time! But let’s make TWO of the same Rolls each with different accessories so that people will definitely by both OH NO CANCELLED
It’s like the lemon dance but with toys instead of teachers, and Mega Man ain’t no lemon. Just the guys who make them, apparently. Waiting for “Proto Man” over here...😥
Tumblr media
But despite all that, Fully Charged’s cartoon and toys weren’t THAT bad, IMO. The cartoon’s setting took place after an unseen robot war, and Dr. Light was one of its veterans. It even features a new villain (not Wily, who is portrayed as a child and friend to Mega Man), and a mysterious character is unmasked at the last episode. Plus we get these neat action figures of the Robot Masters, more than what we’ve been getting in the past decade. Ball (hinge) joints in the shoulders and legs, and knee joints as well. No elbow joints unfortunately, but I drilled in some revoltech joints in there and now they’re an improvement. The toys are a fixer-upper, some needing parts cut out, or a lot of Pledge Future Shine on the joints for tightening.
Tumblr media
Of the many redesigns the show has gone through, I’ve grown to love the lanky Wave Man and bulky Drill Man. Air Man, Ice Man and Guts Man are pretty much, “Fuck, Man”, but they’re still just ok toys with the articulation they were given. I still say Ice Man is the worst, but we were still ROBBED of a near-proper Air Man.
Tumblr media
While the standard 6″ robot masters came with an interchangeable Mega Buster for the Man himself (just like the Ruby-Spears ones!) Drill Man and Guts Man are “action feature” toys. Drill Man has rev-triggered drill hands and I love it sooo much, but Guts Man gets an...inflatable belly. His ability in the cartoon, instead of just super strength, is eating garbage and slamming his full stomach to emit powerful shockwaves. Oof.
Tumblr media
In the end, I would still recommend these toys for any Mega Man fans/purists. With one-offs like 4inchNel Cutman and two-pack Block Man in cancelled lines, I feel these curb the hunger well for more Robot Master toys. As of writing, they are still readily available on Amazon at MSRP. Drill and Wave Man are first priority gets. There aren’t a lot of “drills for hands” toys out there neither.
Tumblr media
Air Man is an acquired taste. I just like how round he is, and has those neat turbines resulting in some “Mega Mickey Mouse logo” thing going on. Guts Man is hefty and I just needs me a Guts Man, especially since he didn’t show up in stores. Ice Man...I don’t have Ice Man anymore. I just didnt like that one because he didn’t channel the Mega Man-esque design as much as the others did, and even Air Man has those BIG angry eyes. You can ignore Ice Man, as with the two toys of Mega Man himself since we already have had better toys of him anyway. Would love to use the busters with those too.
And with all that said, here are some other characters I would’ve wanted:
Fire Man:
Tumblr media
Dr. Light, with gun, because he has one and look how fit he is.
Tumblr media
Elec Man
Tumblr media
and Man Man, who is a clear reference to “Bad Box Art Mega Man”. To think, we were thiiiis close...
Tumblr media
Mega-bye...
