So I have this weird ability to dodge spoilers. I watched Spider-Man No Way Home a year after it was released in theatres and I wasn’t even sure if the crossover was gonna happen.
All that is to say I have gotten to watch classic animes completely blind, as an adult.
A year ago, Metta got me to watch Naruto. Mind blowing experience for both of us. For me because I got to see the origins of a lot of tropes I love in other animes (every time I said “oh that’s like ___” Metta would pause the show and go “Naruto came first Athena-”). And for Metta because of how entirely oblivious I was to everything in the show.
And this week I begun watching sailor moon. It is so fun. I’m really loving it so far, and once again, I am seeing tropes I love so much. I am also amazed at the amount of lgbt rep in a show from the 90s??? And the girls supporting girls vibe is always a delight.
Anyway this has been your update on my spoiler free journey of media consumption <3

[image description: a digital fullbody drawing of mettaton from undertale in his ex form. he has one hand on his hip and the other dangling down to the floor, and he has an annoyed expression on his face. beside him are big letters that read "MTT". the entire drawing is done in very saturated colors, and the background is a bowling alley carpet pattern overlaid with a checkerboard pattern. end id]
