lando sighed and threw his phone on his bed. of course he saw all the tweets about you and your stupid ex, how could he ignore them when it was all over the internet. people were speculating about if he was a rebound or a toy for you. lando was hurt, he always thought that you were way out of his league anyways so he should’ve seen it coming, right? you were an amazing and worldwide known singer, with your angelic voice and heartbreaking lyrics. you sang with your heart which made anyone who was listening to you, fall in love immediately.

that’s what happened with lando. he was always a big fan of yours, singing your songs on top of his lungs at parties, and following every single news about you, he even went to your concerts. one day, he went viral for singing your song on the radio with his engineer, he also happened to have made it to p3, which he said was because you were his lucky charm. the video was published online and went viral, you saw it and immediately found it adorable. the rest was history.

when you guys hard launched your relationship to the world, the big majority was happy for you two, happy to see you smile and happy to see that lando managed to get his crush. but a small minority saw that relationship as a rebound for you, saying horrible things about how you never loved lando and how you would dump him in a few months to go back to your one true love, your ex.

lando saw it all. and he hated it.

"lando? are you okay?" you asked, when you went to check in on him. he was supposed to bring a few blankets so you guys could watch a movie together. but he was taking way too much time so you went to see if he was okay.

"do you love me y/n?" he asked you, and the sadness in his eyes almost made you cry. lando’s eyes was what you loved the most about him, with his smile of course, but his gorgeous green eyes were full of emotions, you could drown in them and feel every little thing he was feeling just by looking at him.

"what are you talking about? of course i love you lando." you say, taking his hand in yours and softly kissing his knuckles. you saw him close his eyes and sigh deeply. you pushed him on the bed and sat next to him. "what happened?"

"it’s stupid, don’t worry about it." he finally looked up at you and faked a smile but it didn’t fool you.

"lando. tell me." you were still holding his hand and with your free hand you started to caress his cheek. he closed his eyes again and melted against your touch.

"your fans are still talking about your past relationship and how i’m nothing but a rebound to you." he said it in such a low tone you almost didn’t hear him. but sadly you heard his words and you could feel your heart shatter at how your fans words affected him. "i know that you guys stayed together for a while, and i know that you wrote good songs about him, i listened to them all, but… if you still love him you can-…"

"lando norris." you said in a serious tone, which startled him. "how am i supposed to love anyone else when you stole my heart and refuse to give it back?" his eyes lit up a little by your words. "and i literally wrote 56 songs about how much i love you so you better listen to them all once again and never doubt my feelings for you ever again, boy."

Author’s Note: IM BACK LOVELIES!!!! Ahhhh so a little update, I am back to uni again, a quarter of my family moved away, I was in a relationship, that ended, and more that’s not coming to mind right now. I don’t know how often I’m gonna be writing, I want to do more but the reality is I don’t have as much time as before. Also I took major steps back from K-pop, I think there was just too much going on in the community that I couldn’t keep up with it anymore. Anyway, hugs and kisses to anyone reading <3

Formula One (also known as Formula 1 or F1) is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The World Drivers' Championship, which became the FIA Formula One World Championship in 1981, has been one of the premier forms of racing around the world since its inaugural season in 1950. The word formula in the name refers to the set of rules to which all participants' cars must conform. A Formula One season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix, which take place worldwide on both purpose-built circuits and closed public roads.

This is your first season with NCT, but your 4th season in Formula 1, as a race engineer for the infamous Lee Jeno. Jeno had entered the sport when he was just 18, racing for Alfa Romeo, however now he was with a team that matched his talent. He was in a competitive car this season. As exciting as it was for Jeno, it was exciting for you too.

You had known Jeno since before his days at Alfa Romeo. You had been his race engineer since formula 4, when you were assigned to Jeno for a race, by mistake. Jeno went on to win his first f4 race with you as the person talking him through it. Since then you had been his race engineer for every race he entered in. And you watched Jeno dominate in formula 3, and formula 2 before entering into formula 1. And even in a non competitive care, he continued to outperform expectations.

You were gonna stay by his side, and watch him stand on the top of the podium as champion of the world, talking him through the entire time.

However, your heart might have other plans for you.

“That’s P4, Jen, P4.”

“Fuck, that was a good lap,” you could hear Jeno chuckle on the other side.

“Race like that tomorrow, and you’ll be on the podium,”

“We’ll be on the podium,” Jeno corrected you, “I can’t do this without you.”

“I’ll meet you in the garage.”

You took off the headset, and took a sigh of relief. No matter how many free practices, qualifying sessions or races you talked Jeno through, you never liked it. You don’t remember when you started to feel anxious about seeing Jeno in the car, but you knew you couldn’t sit still until he was out of it.

You took note of where everyone was on the grid, Jeno didn’t care if the information pertained to him or not, he wanted to know it. You met Jeno by the car to be right where he got out.

“P4,” you said with the biggest smile you could manage for Jeno, P4 was well above anyone’s expectations for qualifying. Since this was Jeno’s first season with NCT, he was expected to qualify P7, P8. Although you're not too surprised about P4, Jeno had a habit of making his talents known.

“P4 today, P1 tomorrow,” Jeno said with a smile, as the two of you began to walk to his dressing room.

“Don’t get too ahead of yourself, Leclerc is still on pole. Verstappen is P2, Sainz P3, Na P5, Perez P6, Hamilton P7, Bottas is P8,”

“Bottas?” Jeno questioned cutting you off, “in the Alfa Romeo?”

“The Ferrari is fast, and Alfa Romeo is a Ferrari engine.”

“Who rounds out the top ten?”

“Maggunsen at P9, and Alonso at P10.”

Jeno sat in the chair, leaning back, his head tilted up, looking at you. “You know, I’m so lucky to have you?”

“Oh yeah? Why don’t you appreciate me more then?” You asked, not being serious at all, just teasing Jeno.

“I do,” Jeno stood up now, coming close to you, “I am forever grateful to you.”

Seven years, you have known Jeno for seven years now, almost going on eight. Jeno has been with you through getting your GED, all through college, three boyfriends, getting your first place and more. He is your longest standing relationship, that it makes you question just how platonic everything is.

“Go already (y/n), I’ll look at your notes, and we’ll go over it tomorrow.” Jeno said, stepping away, grabbing the tablet with your notes. “I’m serious, go.”

You let out the breath you were holding, “alright,” you gathered your things before exiting, turning back one last time for the night, “call me if you have any questions, I’m serious, you know I’m a night owl.”

“I will,” Jeno smiled back to you.

You laid in your hotel room, scrolling through the usual social media, when a very curious caption caught your eye. It was a quote taken from a post qualifying interview from today.

“I think Sunday is more important than Saturday… We’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to form any opinions.” Quote from Na Jaemin, about today’s qualifying.

You clicked the link to read the article about that particular interview. To which, Jaemin had subtly stated that Jeno out qualifying him was a complete luck, and that tomorrow would show who is the better driver overall.

Your first thought was to call Jeno and tell him the ridiculous lies that Jaemin was spewing out, but knowing teddy bear Jeno, he would tell you to just let it go. That his racing will speak for him, that what Jaemin said is nothing but words.

So without Jeno having to tell you, you did exactly that, you let it go, for now.

Sunday, race day. You were excited to say the least, you met Jeno in the hotel before going down to the paddock.

“You’re starting P4, Sainz is ahead of you,” you remind Jeno, “It’s gonna be difficult getting through Leclerc and Verstappen, so your main competition is going to be Sainz.”

“Are you saying that the best I can do is P3?” Jeno asked with just enough of a glint in his eye for most people to assume he was teasing, but not enough to convince you that he wasn’t serious.

“You can win it today, but it’s more important that you cross the finish line than winning,” you say. Jeno still looks a little in between, not fully convinced, you stop him before walking into the NCT motorhome. “You’re gonna do great, you’re gonna show everyone your worth of your seat, and you’re gonna come home safely,” you take a breath, “and maybe you can win on top of all that?” You smiled.

“Yeah I think I can win on top of all of that,” Jeno smiled once again. He always tended to be an overthinker. Always in his own head about things, allowing other people's opinions to fester inside of him, he never could pull himself out of his own thoughts. You would always do that for him.

All the cars lined up after the formation lap, you sat in front of your screen with the other race engineers.

“P4 and P5, the goal is to maintain positions.” Taeyong announced to the entire crew. NCT finished in 4th in the Championship last season, just behind Ferrari, ahead of Mclaren. Taeyong’s goal for this season was 3rd or better. In the practice sessions of this weekend, the car was on par with the Redbull but behind the Ferrari, so 3rd should be achievable. If all was to go well.

“Radio check, 1, 2. Can you hear me Jen?”

“Loud and clear,” Jeno responded back clear as day.

‘And its lights out and away we go.’

“We’re gonna box this lap, box.” You spoke into the mic, telling Jeno what to do.

“Did you just tell Lee to box?” Mark, another race engineer asked, in a panicky manner.

“Yeah, that was the strategy we all agreed on,” you answered back, worry starting to fill you.

“Na was supposed to be first then Lee,” Mark looked even more panicked than earlier.

“We’re double stacking?” You questioned as you turned your attention out to the pit lane, where the crew waits with two sets of medium tyres.

You watched, holding your breath as Jeno pulled into the slot, his tyres removed, a new set screwed on, and he was released just as Jaemin came up to the garage. You let out your breath, as the double stacking worked.

“2.2,” shouted one of the crew, to let everyone know Jeno’s pit stop was 2.2 seconds, “2.3” and Jaemin’s was 2.3 seconds. You and Mark high fives over a successful double stacking.

Just before Taeyong shouted out, “what the fuck was that?” You and Mark turned back to look at Taeyong, both of your guys face going pale. “That wasn’t the strategy.”

“Yeah but it worked.” Mark smiled.

“If you keep fucking up, you minus well work at Ferrari.”

“Come on boss, it’s only Bahrain, cut us a little slack,” you smiled sweetly at Taeyong. You had heard more than once, from more than one person that Taeyong was a bit uptight during the race, and that he’s much more reasonable after a race.

“That’s the checked flag, Jen, P3! P3!” You shouted into the mic for Jeno to hear.

“LETS GO,” Jeno shouted out loud into the radio, “fuck that felt good, I can’t wait to see you.”

“I’ll be waiting at the bottom of the podium for you,” you spoke into the mic once again. Your heart twisting just a bit knowing that your words were heavy with feelings. Funny thing, Jeno is actually the reason your last relationship didn’t work out. Although you refused to tell Jeno that. Your previous partner thought that you and Jeno were too close, that you guys were always more than just friends.

When Jeno asked why your partner ended it, you just said that it was because of conflicting schedules. It would crush Jeno to know that it was him, no matter how many times you would try to convince him that it was for the best. He would just believe that he was standing in the way of your chance to be happy.

You looked up at the podium watching Jeno spray the champagne, you could feel the light droplets of the liquid, tap down on your face. Jeno shook hands with Charles and Carlos, before taking a picture together. You felt this sudden heat radiating next to you, you turned to see Jaemin standing next to you. He must’ve just arrived after his weigh in. He looked very handsome, handsomely angry standing next to you, watching his competition standing on the podium. And vaguely, just a hint of emotion behind the anger was admiration.

You turned back to watch Jeno enjoy the podium, before saying “have you formed any opinions, Na?” You side eyed Jaemin. You watched him huff, before turning to walk back to the garage.

“1, 2, 3, say cheese,”

You smiled brightly turning to look at Jeno, when the flash went off, he remained staring straight. Trophy in one hand, the other one wrapped around you.

“Okay, good.” The photographer announced.

Jeno looked back at you, finally, his eyes curved like little moons. “What a good race,” Jeno’s smile never leaves his face. Jaemin came around to the two of you.

“Congratulations, Lee,” Jaemin stuck out his hand for Jeno to shake, “good race.”

“Thanks Jaemin,” Jeno took Jaemin’s hand in a firm grasp. The two come together for a hug, before both parting their own ways. You stopped yourself from rolling your eyes, because at the end of the day, whatever rivalry that goes on between Jeno and Jaemin. It stays on the track, the minute they step out of the car, they are colleagues, co-workers. It was like that for all the drivers, rivals on the track, friends off the track.

As soon as you made it back to the hotel, you started packing up all your belongings. You flew out to Saudi first thing in the morning, and you had meetings all day Monday.

The time in between races went by faster than you wished. Before you knew it, it was Friday again and Jeno was getting ready for free practice 1.

“Based on last week, the car should have the straight line speed, in the turns that’s all you,” you said to Jeno as he got strapped in his seat, before you went back to the pit wall.

“I got it,” Jeno smiled, as he put on his gloves.

“Safe release yeah?” You said to one of Jeno’s mechanics. You watched as Jeno drove out, down the pit lane, onto the race track. He started off with an outlap, just getting the car right. Just before he got to the line, “remember talk to me Jen,” you reminded. Jeno did have a habit of getting too much into the groove, and forgetting to relay conditions.

“Yes ma’am,” you heard Jeno chuckle. He started his lap, absolutely flying through the circuit.

“He’s too wide into turn 4,” Doyoung, one of the race strategists, said as the both of you watched Jeno on the monitor.

“Keep it tight into turn 4 Jen,” you spoke over the radio, trying to remind Jeno gently.

“I’m trying, but I’m loosing the rear too much,” Jeno was clearly frustrated.

“We should end the session early for him,” you said to Doyoung, not wanting to risk further damage to the car.

“He needs to run more laps, we don’t have enough data for the race yet,” Doyoung said, as he reviewed the screens, “have him pit for a break, but send him back out before free practice ends.”

“Yes,” you obliged, “Jen, box box.”

“The car has too much oversteer,” Jeno said, clearly frustrated about free practice. He couldn’t find his pace in the car, not nearly as much as he wanted to. “I like a little more oversteer too, but that was just insane.”

You sat in the debriefing room with all the race engineers and strategist, as well as Jeno, Jaemin and Taeyong. “I have to agree with Jeno on this,” Jaemin said as he leaned back into his chair. You looked at him for a good moment, thinking that he was actually very handsome, but only when he wasn’t talking. “The oversteer is insane, the steering wheel is pointless,” Jaemin said, and just like that he wasn’t handsome to you anymore.

“We can adjust that, but it’s gonna take time to find the right balance, for the both of you,” Johnny, the chief technical engineer, who designed the car, said, “it won’t be done by the next race.”

“It could also be the track, I wouldn’t do any drastic changes yet,” Jeno spoke, trying to considerate of everyone else, “last weekend the car felt good, we were on pace with the Mercedes.”

“Jaemin?” Taeyong asked, looking at his other driver now.

“No, I agree, if there’s still an oversteer problem by free practice 3 than maybe we need to make an adjustment, but right now is too early,” Jaemin looked around the table, making his opinion heard, “we’re just being honest with what we feel in the car.” Jaemin gestured to himself and Jeno.

“Good,” Taeyong said, “y/n, mark, you have the code list, go over it with your drivers, this is gonna be the list until Spain. Other than that, you guys are dismissed.”

Everyone began to gather their things, and leave, “oh Jaemin,” Taeyong spoke up before you and Jeno had left the room, “go see Ten, he wants to go over some PR stuff with you.”

You could hear Jaemin scoff, but you just smirked to yourself. That’s what he gets for making comments about your driver.

“P6 Jen,” you said as Jeno crossed the finish line for qualifying.

“Not bad team, let’s get them tomorrow,” Jeno said as he made his way into the pit lane. You met Jeno in the garage, after getting the car settled in it’s spot. After Jeno got out of the car, “where did Jaemin qualifie?”

“Jaemin was knocked out in Q2, he’s P12 for tomorrow.”

“Who’s ahead of me?”

“Ocon, ahead of him Verstappen,”

“Behind me?”

“Russell and then Alonso” you said.

“Ocon shouldn’t be a problem, but Max is something else,” Jeno said, thinking about the overtakes for tomorrow. “Russell and Alonso behind me isn’t great either though.”

“It’s gonna be a difficult one for sure, but you’ll get it done.”

“That’s P8 Jen,” you said as Jeno crossed the finish line at the end of the race.

“I’m sorry team, could’ve done better,” Jeno said, clearly upset about those last few laps.

“Jeno, this is Taeyong, that was a good race,” Taeyong spoke quickly, “you did good Jeno, proud of you man.”

“Thanks team, we’ll bring it next time.” You could hear Jeno chuckle just a little this time. “Y/n, where did Na finish?”

“P12, just outside the points,” you answered. “I’ll see you in garage Jen.”

After Jeno finished his weigh in and he finally met you in the garage, did you properly congratulate him for a truly spectacular race. “I finished lower than what I started,” Jeno sighed.

“You did good, and you raced hard, that’s what’s important.” You answered, “not to mention you also came home safely and you finished within the points.”

“I guess,” Jeno said in between sips of water, clearly exhausted from the race. At this time you could see Jaemin walking towards the both of you.

Jaemin came up on Jeno’s side, sticking out his hand, “good race Lee,” Jaemin said with a firm shake and a pat on the back.

“You too Na,” Jeno answered kindly. You couldn’t help but scoff just a bit. Jaemin side-eyed you a bit before walking away without another word. “Play nicely y/n,” Jeno said, giving you a look, after Jaemin had walked a bit away.

“I always do,” you smirked, before turning on your heels to make it back towards the hospitality room.

“Yeah right,” Jeno said loud enough for you to hear, before following after you.

In the media pen, Jaemin was making his rounds for the post-race interviews.

“Jaemin, thoughts after the race?” One lady asked.

“Um it was a difficult one,” Jaemin answered, wiping the sweat away from his face with the back of his arm. You just happened to be in the area, Jeno was also making his rounds, and you were waiting for him. “I obviously didn’t qualify in the best place, and we lost places early on in the race, so it definitely wasn’t one of my better performances.”

You were close enough to hear Jaemin, as well as the following question, “this is the second race in a row that your teammate has outperformed you, do you think there’s gonna be some added pressure now? Maybe a little more determination to do better?”

You couldn’t, for the life of you, understand why reporters would ask those type of questions. Questions that attempt to provoke a reaction. Questions that fueled fake rivalries. You knew the drivers hated being asked those types of questions. However, nonetheless you stayed close enough to hear Jaemin’s answer.

Jaemin chuckled before responding, “I mean of course there’s added pressure when you’re not performing at the same level that you were the previous season, but that’s not Jeno’s fault. And of course there’s determination to do better, but that’s regardless of how Jeno is doing, because I know I’m not doing as good as I did last season.”

You were thoroughly surprised at Jaemin’s answer. You didn’t expect Jaemin to give a very clean answer, you genuinely thought that he wouldn’ve hinted at his poor performance being Jeno’s fault, but truly he didn’t.

“I see, thank you for your time Jaemin,” the reporter smiled.

“Thank you,” Jaemin smiled at the reporter, and for half a second you blushed at his smile. He looked very handsome, post-race, race suit tied around his waist, hair slightly out of place, sweat dripping down the side of his forehead, pearly whites flashing with a bad boy smile.

“Are you drooling at my driver?” Mark, Jaemin’s race engineer, asked catching you in a moment of weakness.

“There’s many drivers in that media pen, I could be drooling at any number of them,” you scoffed at Mark’s accusations.

Just as you were packing up your stuff for the night, getting ready to head back to the hotel, you could hear someone talking. You peaked around the corner to see who it was. It was Jaemin, he was on the phone.

“I know…I know…” Jaemin sounded frustrated with whomever he was talking to. You didn’t want to eavesdrop, but it’s not your fault if the person is talking loud enough for you to hear. “It’s only the second race of the season,” Jaemin sighed.

You peaked around the corner again, to see Jaemin running his hand through his hair. You took notice of his grip on the phone against his ear, get tighter. “I didn’t call to be scolded by you Dad, I called to check in on mom,” Jaemin said finally, his tone sent chills down your spine.

That was your que to leave, you turned to go in the other direction, you slipped on a pair of earbuds pretending not to be able to hear anything. Thankfully just in time, Jaemin ended up pacing, and walking around the corner in your direction. By the time Jaemin saw you, you had your poker face ready, and your music playing. Jaemin took notice of the earbuds you were wearing, already drawing the conclusion that you didn’t hear him. He walked back to where he came from, while you walked in the opposite direction.

You officially called it a night after that, heading straight for the hotel. You figured you would just completely forget you heard anything.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ i hope 2024 is kind to you and that if any difficulties do arise, they can be resolved quickly and easily!!!!!

some thoughts about my 2023 + 2024 are under the cut for personal reference but feel free to read if youd like

OUGH so many things happened this year. it was. a lot. some bad. but also lots of good!!

things i've done in 2023:

- played p3+p4: some of my favorite games of all time!!! i love you persona!!!!!

- started writing fics: ive published more than 30k words since i started, and have AT LEAST 5k scattered across various wips/ufos. which is!! thats a lot of writing for someone who only did academic stuff for the last couple of years!!!! and it feels especially good since i haven't been able to draw or make music so im glad i was able to find another creative outlet and build new(/different?) writing skills :)

- lost my job :(( but found a better COOLER job!!!

- played ghost trick: GO PLAY GHOST TRICK RIGHT NOW!!! please 🥺 best game of all time i will shill it forever

- one piece: i would kill for monkey d. luffy. that is all. haha just kidding i love you one piece thank you for the joy and whimsy youve brought into my life lets keep it up 💪💪💪 lets stay silly and work to overthrow corrupt systems and stop injustices in our world 🔥🔥

- got a surgery ive been planning on for a long time and it!! went well?? which!! yay!!! ill be officially out of recovery in a few days and its :^) nice

- also i graduated therapy for the first time ever!!! it was nice actually having closure and 'ending' the relationship on a positive note, not just being thrown to the dogs in the middle of treatment

things it would be cool to do in 2024:

- travel, even if its just a day trip. literally i've only traveled to visit my family since covid started in 2020. i need to see the ocean soon or ill die

- try revisiting the p2 duology !!! i miss my kids 😔😔 and the music 😔😔 and persona in general and since im abstaining from p3re id like to do something to 'make up for it'

- start playing bass again!!!!

got this ask last night and slept on it since not a lot of the ones i listed were original aka i doubt nobody unironically shipping them (in fairness when i was little if it wasn’t on ff.net, wattpad, or deviantart, the pairing didn’t exist). i remembered a couple old ships i entertained the idea of when i was younger, a couple joke ones i had that probably suck ass and are cursed, and one shit one i made up lol.

(putting a list beneath this cut these are kinda cursed)

i used to love the idea of shinjiro x kanji. idk if anyone ever actually thinks it makes sense or thinks it’s cute. i mean they’re both the big tough guy who secretly loves cute and/or stereotypically feminine things + are at the very least bisexual. modernsona has a lot of similar character archetypes used for party members so some of it can theoretically work (unless it’s a ship involving ken, koromaru, or morgana that’s just no please god). really liked the idea of sumire x p3 femc too. in the process of writing this i thought of raidou x naoto so do what you will with this information. megaten timelines are fucky.

a while back i received another ask regarding “how would shipping in monster hunter even work” and to that i say unless it’s stories, considering how individual characters only started recently (at least with world) getting a more individual focus since it’s now less about hunter culture and a bit more on the story, it’s kinda all over the place. that unless you think the implied monsterfuckers count. you can do a lot with the ace hunters in a shipping sense but i also like guildmarn x that one woman who handles the high rank quests in 4u. don’t ask. (and if shipping monsters together counts i uh. i like the idea of malzeno x guanzorumu and for some reason astalos x valstrax again don’t ask.)

back when fe echoes came out i was also simultaneously playing botw, so i had a weird clashing amount of brainrot and thought link x celica was a cute idea. i mean since alm and link are both kinda mercenary-like (though i don’t think it’s outright stated in anything) and the whole intertwining fates between link and zelda along with alm and celica the parallels are there. it might not work but i at least want them to just meet somehow.

this is a joke ship based on some memes i saw relating to how noah looked like a cross between flynn and tatsuya back when xc3 was first revealed. noah xc3 x flynn smtiv.

also when i was first introduced to xenoblade bc of the monado and alvis being connected i had the cursed idea of dunban x alvis. i was like 12 or some shit.

i’m still pretty new to the yokai watch fandom so idk how people feel about hailey x katie. maybe it has some enjoyers out there. but i also thought of the cursed idea of ash ketchum pokemon x nate yes you can shoot me for that if it’s cursed.

last but certainly the least when i first read through stone ocean me and a friend joked about goku x part 6 jotaro. it would never work. it didn’t make sense unless being absentee fathers count. i’m sorry.

MUHAMMAD AVDOL

The first time he actually sees you fighting, Avdol feels proud. Being a magician, he more or less had already understood or knew that you might have had this kind of attitude during fights. He doesn't really complain, though. With your beauty and the kind of stand you have, you can totally afford to do it.

He admits Magician's Red isn't exactly an example of something you would define graceful, and he's interested in asking you to show and teach him your ways. He doesn't want to be elegant or something, he'd only like his fighting skills to get smoother, because yours really are.

Over this, it's true that Avdol is a pretty protective boyfriend. Showing off your beauty and abilities is amazing and useful to threaten the enemy, but if you exaggerate you might get really hurt, this is why your beloved fortune teller always keeps a close look at you and at what surrounds you.

"I know you are strong and perfectly able to care about yourself, but I'll keep on worrying about your well-being and safeness. I love you, and I wouldn't let anything happen to you."

Avdol is known for his seriousness - different from boring strictness, I want to point out. The man is still a sweetheart. - and responsibility. This is why he struggles to keep this reputation up and not to look at you when you start showing your power off. It's a good thing to see the person he loves so much being confident and strong.

He knows how much you care about this topic, this is why after a fight, even if he looked like he wasn't paying attention to you, Avdol will reassure you about the fact that he instead did, he really did and couldn't do otherwise, and that you were absolutely awesome. Being so graceful yet so powerful scares enemies to death, and you do it absolutely perfectly.

He's not the kind of man who enjoys bragging, but Muhammad can't hide a bit of happiness, when you kiss him or romantically interact with him in front of the crusaders. You're probably a showoff even when it comes to loving him, making him understand that you probably are proud of dating him.

JEAN PIERRE POLNAREFF

The first time Jean Pierre sees you fighting, is probably the moment he finally realizes he fell hopelessly in love with you. He had already started to notice he felt different towards you, but when he witnesses your fighting skills, well, there's no going back for the feelings in his heart.

Polnareff is definitely not graceful, but being an experienced knight, Silver Chariot will often show its fighting skills off, its user claiming it's smoother than your own stand. This exposes Jean Pierre's true nature, lovestruck but still willing to show his own qualities off, like a competition. It wasn't a secret, that he's a showoff as much as you.

He will shamelessly stare at you during fights against enemy stand users, and try to imitate you and show himself off more. Polnareff doesn't even try to look as if he wasn't paying attention to you, getting often scolded and yelled at by the crusaders - mostly Avdol and Kakyoin - for his irresponsibility.

But during the fight against Dio, this changes. Avdol, Kakyoin and Joseph aren't there to watch your back, Jotaro is wounded and too blinded by his own rage to care about you. You're with your boyfriend, the only ones left are you, as you hear Polnareff's voice begging you not to move and not to try anything funny. You can tell he's scared, and as you've never seen him like that, it hurts.

Back to happy topics, Jean Pierre will never lose the chance to make you feel loved and appreciated. After every fight and even randomly during the day, you'll probably find him clinging to you, giving you kisses and showering you in compliments. It's not that he likes to brag about him being your boyfriend, but he does. Damn he does.

"I can't express what I saw... mon amour, you always leave me speechless. How could I be so lucky to be loved by such a beautiful creature? Oh, mon dieu..."

Instead of always competing with you on who's the most graceful or most beautiful, he'll sometime ask to make up some tactics which imply the two of you co-operating. Imagine how intimidating and wonderful would it be, if the two most beautiful and attractive crusaders united their powers! This is totally not an excuse to kiss you after you win!

JOSEPH JOESTAR

Joseph sees you fighting for the first time, and feels like his ideas on you are completely changing. He genuinely thought you were inexperienced, stands are a pretty new thing, and seeing you so confident and so able to control your power at the point that you can afford showing off your grace too, is a pleasant surprise. He feels pretty proud of you.

He really... doesn't get how someone can be graceful during a fight, honestly. Hermit Purple aside - he doesn't really expect a bunch of thorn covered purple vines to have a noticeable amount of grace -, he remembers the good hamon times, and the only thought of hamon being possibly graceful makes him laugh. But thinking about it... his mother was pretty graceful. You remind him of her.

"You know, when I met my mother... yes, it sounds weird to say like this. But she was a hamon master. And her grace... well, you remind me of her. And this means a lot to me."

Just like Avdol, Joseph would be anyway pretty worried for you almost anytime. Knowing your tendency to show off your skills and grace, he'll make sure you're always in Hermit Purple's action range, so he can catch you with his vines and help you nigerundayo with him if things go dangerously down.

For this same reason, just before the battle against Dio, he begs you not to lose control or do anything that might get you into trouble, if the vampire happens to kill him. You don't really wanna think about Joseph getting killed, but he manages to get a promise from you. Though he's not totally convinced about the fact that you'll keep your promise.

We all know Joseph Joestar is a licensed prankster. He once pulled a prank on you, telling you that your attitude was bothering them and that you had nothing to show off because your powers aren't that amazing as you think they are. He thought you would have got a little offended, but you care a lot about your appearance, and he found himself apologizing and cuddling with you because you were gonna cry.

Joseph enjoys PDA more than you can imagine, so if he's clingy to you, or if you always find him talking about how amazing you are, he's not trying to brag about how close you are, probably he's genuinely trying to express how happy he is. Though he doesn't really mind bragging in front of the crusaders sometimes...

DIO

The first time he sees you fighting, after giving you a stand, he's impressed, really. You just had that ability, you're probably scared and just recovered from a heavy arrow that was stuck in your chest, and still you're showing yourself off, gracefully moving around, almost bragging about your victory?

Let's say it, DIO is a great showoff himself. He's the kind of man who'd lose a lot of time bragging about his own powers before finally attacking. You enjoy doing this as much as he does, this is why he soon feels like you're made to be kept by his side. He doesn't send you after the crusaders, but keeps you in his mansion, along with Terence, Vanilla Ice, Kenny G., Nukesaku and Pet Shop.

He happened to stop time several times, during minor battles where he wanted to see you fight alone against enemies, to take a closer look to your body, in dynamic poses. You looked so focused, so strong, yet your grace was impressive even when you were still, and he could tell he wasn't lucky to have you only for your powers, but also for your beauty and majesty.

DIO plans on letting you fight - alone or by his side - against many enemies, but Jotaro isn't one of them. What? Is he joking? The greatest the enemy, the greatest the chance for you to shine! You will fight against Jotaro too, your man can't stop you. You two will probably argue about this. The only time he's showing his human side protecting you, you're refusing it.

He's not jealous. He's straight up possessive. DIO will make sure he praises you enough to keep you his, and gets kinda upset when other stand users in his mansion happen to see you fighting or training to improve your skills. He knows he fell for you watching you battling, and won't let it happen to anyone else. What the fuck, no. You're his love, people better remember it.

He asked you several times to randomly attack him during your days. He just wants to see if he's able to control Jonathan's body properly without it abandoning him. Despite this, he noticed - a pleasant surprise - that you lose all of your grace, when you attack him. Is it because you're afraid of hurting him and you're not giving the best of you? DIO is satisfied, seeing a so clear demonstration of your developing feelings.

"What is it? Are you holding back because you're afraid of hurting me, DIO? Give the best of you, pet. I won't abandon this world now that I found you, your Lord promises."

EXO KAI: Detective Gone Wrong P3

You came to know Jongin by accident, but have no clue he’s EXO’s Kai. And when you found out....

You walked away blankly, remaining in a daze until your phone started vibrating in your pocket.

It was your boss who called and anxiously asked if you could cover her shift from the afternoon as she forgot about her wedding anniversary dinner.

You gladly agreed, thinking it might be better to have something to occupy yourself with today. Otherwise you’re just going to be spending the day thinking about you and jongki.

Still sane enough to be in need for breakfast, you went by the convenience store to pick up a sandwich. Standing in front of the fridge, you paused to think

What does jongki want? Does he... like me ?

And he KISSED ME TOO?! That’s definitely something only couples do right?!

How did everything escalate so fast overnight ?!

‘Excuse me, are you getting anything? You’re standing in the way’

You must have stood there for quite a while, looking at the irritated face of the customer. Apologising, you just grabbed whatever sandwich there was on the shelf and left after paying.

Falling deep in thought and replaying what happened last night again, you opened your sandwich packaging and bit down on your sandwich

You sighed. Feeling a little more miserable with wrong sandwich choice, you continued feeding on your thoughts on the way home.

Tossing the phone aside, you decided to take a shower. Afterall showers always work best for any occasion. You got up and spent a peaceful 20minutes running under hot water, clearing your thoughts.

Though still feeling bothered, you were definitely more refreshed. Time check , it was about time for you to get changed and pick up lunch on the way to the store.

Dusting on some light make up, bunning up your hair, you changed into your working clothes. In 30 minutes you were out of the house.

On the bus ride to your working area, you were so torn between checking your phone and not to. You wanted to know if jongki texted you again, but you didn’t really want to deal with this situation.

Fiddling with your phone, you almost dropped it when it beeped to announce a message had arrived.

Excitedly you unlocked your phone and checked your notification, only to find that it was just a reminder message from your landlord to pay your rent.

Your heart literally dropped because you actually really wanted to receive a message from him. Just then your phone beeped again and this time it was from jongki!

J: y/n ah what’s for lunch today? I’m having kimchi stew. Texting because I thought about you who might be board having an off day today :p

Sigh, you can’t deny that boy is so cute and lovable. But you still weren’t ready to reply him. You wanted things to be clearer between both of you. While uncertainty in relationships can be the most heart fluttering period, you didn’t like being in that phase.

It wasn’t long before you reached your stop to alight. Not feeling particularly hungry yet, you stopped by street stalls along the way instead.

You arrived at your shop, feeling satisfied with the pajeon you just had. You almost forgot how therapeutic the scent of flowers were until you stepped in. The mixed floral scent of dew and freshness instantly released you from the troubled thoughts bugging you at the back of your head.

‘Unnie! I’m here! How could you forget your wedding anniversary , hahah. Have you bought a gift or something yet?’

‘Ah, y/n ah! My life saviour. No I haven’t bought anything! There’s just too many activities and occasions this month that I forgot about my own. Gosh’ she face palmed herself making you laugh

‘Then you better leave soon to get your gift! I’m here already anyway! I’ll just continue wrapping this bouquet you’re currently working on’

‘I’ll buy u a meal another day, sorry for calling you back on your off day~ oh right I’ve a parcel coming later, just open and let me know what’s inside. I ordered so many I can’t even remember what’s coming anymore.’ Removing her apron, she rushed off after saying googbye.

Looking at the tasklist, it was going to be a busy day. 5 bouquets to finish and lots of prep for the workshop tomorrow. You immersed yourself in the wrapping right away.

A few minutes later, your phone lighted up. It was a message from jongki.

J:yaaa, are you ignoring me deliberatelyy? do you want to come over again on sunday?

You scoffed when you saw the message because your detective mind came to a conclusion that the latter question was just bait to get the answer to his first question. He was tempting you with a chance at his place that was a hit or miss if you don’t reply him.

You put down the stalks of flowers you were still holding in your hands, you paused to form an appropriate reply.

my lunch was great, and i cant go over on sunday, im going to my parent’s place

You typed then deleted it, doesn’t sound about right, you remember telling him yesterday that you got a half day shift on sunday which you really hated.

i got called back at work

Reacting in shock , you pressed the send button by accident at the voice of delivery man

You closed your eyes and hit yourself on the head imaginatively. Smiling at the delivery guy, you received the parcels and signed them off.

The tube really piqued your curiosity, so you decided to check that first. opened it first.

Opening the tube, you pulled out a rolled piece of paper. Unrolling it, you noticed at the top right was a black and white logo that writes EXO Obsession.

Ohhhh EXO!! Unnie likes exo?

Ever since you watched 100 days my prince, you had a positive inclination towards EXO. Which also reminded you of jongki who seems to like EXO Kai.

You wondered who was going to be in this poster. Not like you would recognise them though, you thought, unless its do kyungsoo ssi.

A little excited, you pulled the poster open to full length.

Looking at the poster that stared back at you. Your smile faded away. Your jaw dropped.

‘Jongki oppa?’ you muttered under your breath

There was an uncanny resemblance between the man in the poster and jongki.

No way, who the hell is this from EXO?

You turned the poster to the back hoping to find a name of the man in the picture. But there was no information.

Flipping back over, you looked closer at the other small details on the logo, you found this 3 lettered word staring back at you — ‘KAI’.

EXO KAI? Jongki watches his dance videos... or rather, Jongki also can dance ..

There were only two logical possibilities to this , either jongki has a twin or... kai is jongki..

You had to know the answer to this incredulous situation.

Making a grab for your phone, you saw jongki had already replied you , but you weren’t even going to read it

Y: Oppa, do you have a twin ?

You could feel blood pumping through your veins as you sent it.

How could this be possible ? He mustn’t be exo right?

Although you weren’t interested in boy groups, there’s no one that hasn’t heard of EXO in the whole of korea. And that’s how popular EXO is.

Even though you have never checked them out to find out how they looked like, but you still knew a few names. Names like Baekhyun , chanyeol and.. kai..

Thinking of it now, it seems to all make sense that he could dance, he has abs, he’s rich, works till late, doesn’t reply all the time....

As you waited for his text to come back in, you googled EXO Kai.

In the past, when you watched those cliche dramas you never understood why people made such a huge fuss when they found out their dating partner has a hidden identity.

Like isn’t it totally exciting and fun! Especially if the person turns out to be some rich CEO. Wow, your rags to riches story would come true over night.

That’s how you thought you would react.

But honestly, all you felt was some sense of betrayal right now.

Just in a few seconds, he replied

J:really?! What’s your wild Guess this time ?

Your hands were shaking as you prepared to type this. The moment you send this and he confirms it... what are you going to do ?

But still, this has to be done

Again, he replied instantaneously

J:omg, took you long enough!! How did you find out though??!

Clearly not being able to sense the tension over the phone, he was, as usual, cheery about everything.

Y:so it’s true ? Why did you lie your name to me?

You had no idea why you felt so emotional to the brink of tears about this truth.

J: ah, I’m sorry for lying about that.. I was worried initially if I told you my real name you might make a connection and recognise me at the start.

He double texted as soon as you received that msg, saying

J: y/n, are you ok?

You typed

no I’m not. I don’t even know how I should be feeling now, or what I should be doing about our friendship.

But.. you didn’t send it. You switched your phone to do not disturb and kept it in your bag.

You stared blankly at the poster for a while before putting it back in the tube. You’re still in disbelief. This situation was ridiculous. But it was logical.

In a state of mental breakdown, you couldn’t even wrap your bouquets right. You switched over to prepping for the workshop tomorrow instead. But your mind was so preoccupied with the whole fiasco that you kept missing things out. You just wanted work to end and have the time to yourself.

The entire day went by in a mess, but at least it finally ended. Back at home, you scroll through the multiple texts he sent you

J: hmm, seems like you’re pretty shocked about this right?

J: I wanted to tell you but you said you preferred if I didn’t though..

Then there was also a missed call from him

J: Call me back?

You swiped away all his notifications. There is something you really want to do, but not really ready to. You contemplated

Typing into Google, you searched kai. It was strange, just 24 hours ago you guys were so close, almost like lovers. But right now, you’re searching him up and getting to know him like an unreachable stranger.

You tapped into one of those webpages that told fans his entire life story. From his blood type to who he has ever dated and all that small little things people conclude from what he has said.

Again, you felt a stab in your heart and sour inside. These were things you never knew about , but surely, everyone else but you knew. It was like... jongki wasnt jongki, this him is different, it feels so far and distant from the one you knew...

Pondering on that thought, you let out a bitter laugh. Jongki really wasnt jongki. He was never jongki.

Switching to YouTube , you click on ‘mmmh’ the first result when you searched kai. No matter how you tried to keep an open mind, you didn’t like it. His costume made him strange and the song really wasn’t your type.

Deciding that’s enough for the day, you put your phone aside and tried your best to fall asleep.

Back at work the next day, you decided to get some ‘intel’ from your boss about kai.

‘Unnie, you like EXO Kai?’

‘Ne!!! Wae? Isn’t his visuals to die for???’ She reacted so excitedly upon hearing his name

‘Why don’t I remember you liking EXO though?’

‘I recently just got into them because of my friend who kept playing their songs on repeat in her car’ she laughed as she fixed the flowers

‘Why did you ask though? Since when were you interested in boy groups?’ She continued asking

‘Ah... When I checked the poster yesterday I thought kai was really good looking, so I’m just asking haha. So what’s so nice about kai you bought a poster?’ Finally asking what you really wanted to .

‘Oh gawd, you really wanna know? I could go on a whole day about jongin. Though he is sooooo fierce on stage , killer looks and everything, but he has such a cute personality!! You know when they ........’

And she went on and on about it, even showing you clips of kai on variety shows, interviews, etc. In these the sense of familiarity was back, you felt like this was the Jongki you knew. Oh well, it’s Jongin now, you really got to change it out.

You laughed along with your boss and you understood why he had so many fan girls. Introducing you to some EXO songs, you had to admit you really liked them!

Knowing more about kai now, you went back home that night and sat infront of your laptop, making a search for EXO’s variety shows, music videos and the likes.

You searched up ‘kai cute moments’ and you wanted to sqush him because he was just so cute like how he was normally. At the same time you can’t help but feel a little jealous that you’re sharing these sides of him with other people too.

You watched his dance videos and he was literally a dancing king. Thinking back to when he danced for you, you suddenly realised just how many girls would die to be in your place.

It was already 1am by the time you finished your search. A msg came in just as you were about to crash

J: are you up? I’m going to the convenience store to grab some food. Are you hungry? Want to come along?

Seeing his msg, you felt a little bad about ignoring him for the 2nd day now. How should you reply him now that the situation is a little awkward ?

Nicely, your phone died as you were thinking.

Alright, just a sign I should go to bed, oppa I’ll reply you after I get my phone charged up tmr.

You woke up to an absolutely crisis that you overslept. Considering how you didn’t sleep well for the past 2 nights over jongin, this was bound to come. You quickly washed up and left for work.

Plugging your phone into the portable battery, you phone came back to live. Again, jongin was persistent in his texts.

J:y/n ah don’t ignore me please

J:Come over on sunday?

J: I’m waiting for your reply.

It was 1.30am when he asked you to come over on sunday, but his last message was past 3am. He must have been thinking about what happened with you.. You felt bad for being so absorbed in how you felt and failed to consider his feelings when it really wasn’t his fault.

All this started out because of your dumb self who wanted to play detective. But then again, if you had found out who he was from the start, would you have gotten this close with him? Possibly not. You replied him without delay

Y: i’ll come over on sunday

The shop gets really busy on saturdays, packed with workshops, tons of deliveries and online orders. You didn’t have time to check your phone till the end of the day, at which you saw you missed jongin’s call and texts again.

J: omg, you finally replied! is there anything you want to eat on tomorrow? i could get it if you’re coming over from work

J: we are all ok now right?

Should you call him back? It wasn’t like you were completely okay yet, you couldn’t imagine how it would like seeing him tomorrow. He was surely still that jongki you knew, but he was also kai.

Thinking to leave the rest for tomorrow to think about, you just replied

Y: there’s nothing i really want, just get whatever you like:)

Back at home, for the 3rd night in a row, you stayed up like a fan girl again, watching all of EXO ladders, their concert videos. You squealed and fangirled over them like a teenage girl. The more you watched, the more you started falling harder for them.

A halfday shift always makes your day go by real fast. You were standing outside jongin’s door. You were suddenly reminded of the times you watched 100 days my prince with him and talked about D.O. who he probably knows 1000x better than you do. And how you asked if he was a kai fan. Oh gawd, you wanted to jump into a hole. Feeling a little nervous and a little awkward and hella embarrassed, you didn’t want to press the door bell.

Finally pressing the door bell, you waited for barely half a minute, which felt like eternity before he opened the door. You could even feel your palms sweating.

‘Annyeong Y/N! Come in quickly!’

You didn’t reply him immediately, neither did you move an inch yet. The smile on his face slowly faded and he just looked at you, starting to chew on his lips.

Seeing his face once again, in real life, your heart skipped a beat. You knew it wasn’t because he was kai, but because he was still jongki, that someone special to you.

You quickly smiled back at him the moment you got out of your thoughts. He let out the breath that he has been holding, making you laugh.

‘Annyeong, jong..’ you paused there, about to call him jongki

‘annyeong jongin oppa’ it sounds weird to you, not to be calling him the name you were used to

You guess he must have been feeling a little awkward when you called him by his real name too, he scratched his head and chuckled.

‘I ordered pizza, are you hungry? let’s eat’ he gestured for you to go to the dining area and was ready to walk away

But you felt you had to talk to him first about this,

‘oppa, can we talk?’

He turned around to face you, he nodded slowly

‘sure..’

You walked over to him, leaving a comfortable space between the both of you.

He avoided your eye contact as you started

‘so... EXO Kai huh?’

‘...y/n, i.. you should know i have no intentions to hide anything from you deliberately, i was ready to tell you anytime. but i also thought you would react in a ‘pleasant surprise’ way rather than a ‘nasty shock’ received, so i just let it be’

He looked at you with sincerity in his beautiful eyes which showed how bad he felt. But you honestly just wanted to clear the air and lighten up the mood

‘actually, I just wanted to tell you that... I became an EXOL!’

You exclaimed and laughed. His eyes widened and stared at you like you were out of your mind, before bursting into laughter too.

But his laughter soon turned to sobs, and he rubbed his eyes profusely, which got you stunned

‘I... I thought I messed up our friendship, our relationship. And I really missed you, I didn’t want our us to end like this.....’ he said in between sobs and almost sounded like he was wailing

‘We haven’t even started...! Y/N, you scared me when you didn’t even reply at all! I thought you didn’t want to contact me anymore!’ He give you a light push on your shoulder as he emotionally spilled out all his thoughts

Though you were really confused, it was heart wrenching to see him cry so hard. You quickly put your arms around his waist and have him a hug.

‘Oppa, I’m sorry for the past few days I ignored you. I was just trying to figure how to handle the weight of the truth that you’re EXO Kai. Hahah, I’m so confused at your reaction right now you know.’

Calming down, but still sounding nasal he said

‘I’m going to make you stay here today until I’m convinced that you don’t hate me for being kai.

Oh and that you won’t go MIA on me again if you found out some other kai stuff’

Breaking away from the hug, he grabbed onto your shoulders

‘Y/N I like you, I really like you, so don’t leave my life please’

His impromptu confession got you feeling shy, you didn’t know what to do , but merely nodded in response.

Feeling all bright again he grabbed your hand and pulled you into the house.

You were glad it was as if nothing has changed, except that you probably became the luckiest fangirl alive just like this.

This fic went through so many content changes, I’m so glad I finished writing this! For those that waited for this part, I hope it wasn’t too underwhelming:,) feel like there’s definitely still a lot for me to work on as a new writer.

Expectations and predictions for the 2021 season of Formula 1

Intro

As of writing, we are five days to seeing the cars out on track in Bahrain. Many changes happened from where we left off in Abu Dhabi, specifically driver changes, team changes and my overall expectations for the year.

Driver changes

Many changes in the driver pairings for this year. Daniel Ricciardo to McLaren, Carlos Sainz Jr to Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel to Aston Martin, and Sergio 'Checo' Perez to Red Bull are the key driver swaps. We also say farewell to Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen as they venture to Indycar and IMSA respectively. Alex Albon has been demoted to the position of reserve driver for Red Bull while Daniil Kvyat moves to Alpine, as a test driver.

Plenty of new faces as well as one new but very familiar face. The rookies of the 2021 season are Yuki Tsunoda in Alpha Tauri, Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin in Haas and two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso in Alpine.

Having Alonso back in F1 was never quite a huge surprise since everyone expected him to return sooner or later. Personally, I'm glad that he's back in the cockpit and excited to see his performance this year with Alpine.

Now back to the actual rookies, Schumacher, Tsunoda and Mazepin finished in the top five of the 2020 Formula 2 standings in first, third and fifth respectively.

Schumacher and Mazepin in Haas came as quite a surprise. At the end of 2020, Haas was in terrible shape so having two rookies with minimal experience in an F1 car brings many questions : Is this what Haas really needs? Can the two rookies bring out the best in the 2021 car? Will the fresh slate be what Haas needs to get back on their feet?

Enough about Haas, let's talk about the drivers themselves. Mick Schumacher, 2020 F2 champion, member of the Ferrari Driver Academy and son of seven time world champion, Michael Schumacher. He is a talented driver and it's not just because of his last name. Speedy starts and smart, tactical braking are some key attributes of Schumacher's driving style. He is a very capable driver and fought hard against Vice Champion and fellow academy driver, Callum Ilott. The world definitely has its eyes on him.

Nikita Mazepin, fifth in the championship and hailing from Russia. His performance in 2020 was quite a surprising one since his team, Hitech GP, was a brand new team in F2 and he had a pretty underwhelming 2019 season. Mazepin has a very aggressive driving style and questionable on track movement. It doesn't get any better off track because he has plenty of controversies following him. (Topics surrounding him are pretty sensitive so I will not cover them here because I aim to speak about his driving ability without prejudice and bias.) Expectations both on track and off track are high for him.

Yuki Tsunoda, member of Honda Formula Dream Project and Red Bull Junior Team, winner of the 2020 Anthoine Hubert award (Rookie of the Year), and youngest driver on the 2021 grid hails from Japan. A lot of expectations on him in the Alpha Tauri car as he replaces long time Red Bull academy driver Daniil Kvyat. With a new RB junior driver making the step up to F1, there are many doubts as to which driver is capable of matching number one Red Bull driver, Max Verstappen. Many have come and failed but Tsunoda seems to have good prospects of being the one seeing how he is able to quickly adapt to new cars. Very excited to see his performance this year.

Team changes

Two teams have had major rebranding as mentioned earlier. Racing Point will now be known as Aston Martin Cognizant while Renault is now Alpine. Some key changes that come with the name change is colour. Aston Martin will race with British racing green colour and Alpine will pride themselves with the colours of the French flag. These two have had quite the battles in the last few years for the "Best of the Rest" position in the constructors championship. Very excited to see them go head to head on track especially since they will both have one relatively young driver (Lance Stroll vs Esteban Ocon) and extremely experienced world champions (Sebastian Vettel vs Fernando Alonso).

Expectations

Now, the moment you've been waiting for.... My predictions for the constructor championships~ (no driver standings because honestly it can be pretty unpredictable)

I believe that a completely fresh driver lineup at Haas will do them some good but the car has already been built so there's not much other than to build data and learn from there. Hopeful for them in 2022, not so much for 2021....

The reason why Alfa Romeo is below Williams is simply because I am unsure of the reliability and strength of the Ferrari-powered engines. An engine can really make or break the car and since. Ferrari has been going down, I think they might lose out to the Mercedes-powered Williams.

Williams have been improving pretty rapidly and I trust in their upward growth and potentially see points this year! There have been a bunch of Q2 appearances for George Russell and Nicholas Latifi has finished P11 a few times, I really think 2021 will be the oasis in the desert for them.

Ferrari is just not doing too well in my opinion. I love Ferrari and have supported them since I first started watching F1 but whatever is going on with the car has been really sad. Not sure how good of a chassis they can come up with since they wanted to try something new this year which is very bold of them. With Leclerc and Sainz, they are both really good drivers and have. their merits but they tend to make poorly planned moves and pretty bad luck. So yeah, P7 for them.

Alpha Tauri with Gasly and Tsunoda is a superb combination. The Alpha Tauri car is also very competitive and with the right circumstances even won a race! They have potential to fight for that P3 in the constructors but not too sure about the Honda engine as compared to the Mercedes engines and Alpine.

Now this is where the competition gets tight. Honestly, this could be anyone's game but I decided to put them as McLaren, Aston Martin, and Alpine respectively. McLaren has made leaps and bounds in terms of progress. Since 2019, they've gotten 3 podiums and that was with a Renault engine. Now. imagine how many more they can get with a Mercedes engine. That's where the 2021 McLaren car comes in, along with the experience of Daniel Ricciardo. Aston Martin will follow closely behind but I think they might have a slow start to the season and then pull in big points towards the end. Lastly, Alpine in P6. I think they're great but the team has a very strange power play since they don't actually have a team principal. They are also the only one with a Renault engine so they might lose out a bit more than the others.

Obviously, the top two are Mercedes and Red Bull respectively. I don't think I need to clarify further. Even though Mercedes have shown some struggle during Winter Testing, I think they will have everything settled by the first race in Bahrain. Red Bull might be much closer in competition to Mercedes than previous years if Verstappen doesn't have a bad luck streak of getting knocked out by other people and Perez is able to withstand the pressure of being Red Bull's second driver and is able to hone the car to his strengths as he is quite a consistent driver.

Making the pendulum swing - Turkish GP review

There are a lot of reasons motorsports fans love a race in a wet track. For one, rain is a great leveller, reducing the advantages of superior machinery and enhancing driver ability. Another reason is that it is fun to see some of the greatest drivers in the world have to wrestle with the steering wheel; reduced grip, at least to this level, is not a desirable outcome for every single race, but to have it on occasion makes for some great entertainment. And some spins are always a bit of fun to watch.

But the main reason why racing in the wet is so exciting is the unpredictability. These are special races, in which the logic of faster driver in a faster car will win does not (always) apply. Everybody loves an underdog, and these races are the biggest opportunities for unexpected winners in modern F1. Wet races can also provide plenty of changes in momentum, with the pendulum swinging in favour of one driver or another; if someone looks like being in control by lap 10, they might be out of it by lap 20 and back in it by lap 40.

This is exactly what we had in Istanbul this Sunday. Particularly in the first half, several drivers seemed to have the upper hand but, for one reason or another, they ended up falling down the order or, at the very least, could not compete with the eventual winner. In different periods of the race, Stroll, Perez, Verstappen and Albon all seemed like having the perfect set of circumstances to win the race. But Stroll couldn’t keep his tyres from graining, Verstappen and Albon spun out of contention and Perez decided to roll the dice and take the old tyres to the end, sacrificing pace for track position.

Perez’s strategy almost worked. Yes, he was significantly slower than several drivers behind him, and almost lost a place in the podium on the last lap, but he did manage his tyres superbly, as he usually does, to finish in a fine second place. It was, however, not enough to deal with the one man that continues to rise and astonish with how he makes the pendulum swing towards him.

Lewis Hamilton knew after qualifying that he didn’t need to do much in the race to clinch the world title. Bottas had struggled even more than he had, and was three places behind. Stay out of trouble, avoid crashing early and ensure Bottas finishes behind. The Finn made his job even easier by spinning on the opening lap and falling towards the back, from where he never recovered. A scoreless Bottas meant the title was in the bag. Hamilton didn’t need to push.

But he still went for it. He was stuck behind Vettel for a considerable period of time, which meant the Racing Points were too far down the road. As the pendulum swung between different drivers ahead of him, the champion-elect never really seemed with a shot of winning. But Hamilton bid his time and once he had clear air, he saw there was still an opportunity. And he is not one to waste opportunities. He clearly wanted to win the championship in style, not simply have it fall on his lap. In the past, he hasn’t often had the change to secure the title with a win. He wasn’t going to let that go this time around.

In the end, while all the other drivers who were there, or nearly there, made mistakes and lost their cool, Hamilton disappeared down the road, finishing a whopping 30-seconds-30 ahead of the pack. It was another demonstration, as if we needed more, that he does stand head and shoulders above everyone else on the grid. The young pretenders will have to wait a bit longer to dethrone him, because he shows no sign of losing his ability with age.

I try to not focus too much on the winners of a race, and not to write too often about Hamilton, but he makes it really difficult not to. He is a unique talent in the history of the sport and we should very much enjoy watching him while we can. Although there is plenty of talent in the coming generation, we might not see another driver like him for a long while.

Talking points * On Saturday it seemed impossible that we could see a Hamilton win. The Mercedes were completely out of pace, and it was Racing Point and Red Bull who had the fastest cars. It was an intense qualifying, that finished with a first pole for Lance Stroll. The Canadian gets a lot of stick because of his father’s money, but he does have bags of talent and he showed it on Saturday. The race might not have gone his way (Racing Point reporting there was damage to his front wing which caused the excessive tyre graining) but he should take comfort that, after a tough couple of months, he showed what he is capable of. He should use Saturday as a motivator to finish the season strongly. * Saturday also provided another concerning moment in terms of safety. At the start of Q2, drivers were sent out on track while marshalls were still in a run-off area, with a crane, recovering Latifi’s car. If your heart went racing back to Suzuka 2014, you were not alone. Race direction justified it by saying they had been informed the crane would be gone by the time drivers reached that point of the track, but there is no justification to even take that risk. A delay of 2 minutes would have been fine. After the issue with the marshalls on track at Imola, this is the second race in a row with less-than-optimal decisions from race direction. We should hope it’s not a trend, but Michael Masi appeared defensive afterwards and said he didn’t think anything should have been done differently. More than the decision itself, his reaction after the fact is not a good sign. * Wasn’t it great to see Vettel up on the podium again? He has had a torrid year, but had a quietly good race and was there to take advantage of his teammate’s error on the final chicane. It was probably his last podium in red, to leave a slightly sweeter taste to the end of his years with the Scuderia. * It was also great that he was there congratulating his great rival on another title. The respect Seb and Lewis have for each other is exemplary, both of them clearly aware of the hardships they had to go through to reach the very top. It’s a shame we didn’t get to see them go toe to toe more often in their careers. It should have been the great rivalry of this generation. * Sergio Perez’s form since it was announced he wouldn’t stay at Racing Point: P5, P4, P4, P7, P6, P2. And those P7 and P6 would have been P5 and P3 without strategy stumbles from the team. It’s ridiculous if he’s not on the grid next year. * McLaren continue to do what teams that reach the top do well: maximise their results and score valuable points even when their car is not the fastest. Both their cars started behind both Racing Points and Renaults, and yet, of those four drivers, only Perez finished ahead of them. Sainz had a bullet start and kept a cool head to finish P5, just behind the group fighting for the podium. His teammate had a horrible start and was last off the line, but recovered brilliantly to P8, and had a blistering pace towards the end, setting a fastest lap that was a second faster than the next best one. The car’s development might not have gone the way they hoped, but in every other aspect, this is a team firing on all cylinders. * Bottas had a nightmare race, seemingly incapable of keeping his car on the road. The team revealed he had suffered damage in a first lap contact with Esteban Ocon which could help explain his miserable day. Regardless of the causes, P14 is not a results anyone expects at Mercedes. At least now he is free to race the last 3 GPs without the title in his mind. I wonder if a pressure-less Bottas might put up some more of a fight in the coming weekends. * The two Red Bull drivers missed out on huge opportunities this weekend. After the first round of pit stops, the race was arguably Verstappen’s to lose, and, well, lose it he did. He was too greedy when trying to overtake Perez and destroyed his tyres in a spin, which forced to a second stop that effectively ended his race. If he was miserable after missing out on pole, I can’t imagine how he must have felt after the race. As for Albon, he is very much running out of time to impress the Red Bull hierarchy. After Verstappen spun, he was in great position to at least claim a podium, but like the Dutchman, he couldn’t keep his car on the road, and opened the door to Hamilton. To make matters worse, the driver who is apparently being considered to replace him finished second. Red Bull have said he will have until the end of the year to grab that seat, but one has to wonder how much can he genuinely do in the last 3 races after missing out on so many opportunities before? * What a tremendous qualifying from Alfa Romeo. Their pace disappeared on Sunday, but on Saturday Kimi and Gio were two of the stars, putting their cars in Q3. That this happened on Sauber’s 500th Grand Prix entry was only fitting; they couldn’t score points, but there was something for the team to celebrate about the weekend nonetheless.

* Renault’s topsy-turvy season continues. After 2 podiums in 3 races, they leave Turkey with just one point and their hopes of reaching third in the constructors’ championship dashed. They should do well in the final races of the season, as the power hungry Sakhir and the long straights of Yas Marina will favour their car, but if they want to be in the mix up front, they need to better understand the car and what makes it work (and what doesn’t). They have shown they can put together a competitive car, but they can’t win titles if they don’t show up every weekend.

Chicanery in Formula E:

(A couple of weekends ago I realised I’ve only ever written non-fiction things for school and decided to try my hand at writing about something I’m actually interested in. Plus my English teacher last year was really not into opinion pieces so voila: Here’s my opinion for anyone who’s interested.)

“I don’t think Maximilian Guenther would have been so successful at the start of season 6 had we had more chicanes.”

That’s the opinion I have had since I watched the start of season 6 live at the start of this year, but it’s taken me until now to actually do the research into why I think that. First off, I seemed to think that far more chicanes had been eliminated than actually were. In fact, only two tracks were actually changed so in total we only lost three chicanes; one in Santiago and two in Mexico. I’m going to focus on the removal of the turn 8-9-10 chicane in Santiago.

The first thing to take into account is I have nothing against Guenther. He’s not one of my favourite drivers but I have no reason to hate him or want him to do badly. However, something about having a horrid childhood has made me subconsciously resent anyone who is ever remotely lucky, and Guenther’s first podium was also his first win and his first points of season six. That’s the definition of tinny luck.

But I’m not here to talk about Guenther (at least, not right now) I’m here to talk about chicanes and how much I missed the one at Santiago whilst watching the race in season six.

To start with, we need to talk about the differences in attack mode. In season 5 attack mode was just an extra 25kW whilst in season 6 it has been bumped up to 35kW. Maybe it was because season 5 was the first season I watched of Formula E, but it seemed like the differences between cars in attack mode and cars without was very hard to pick out without the on screen graphics and the halos and it became clear early on that having attack mode whilst the car ahead did not didn’t guarantee that the attacking car would be able to overtake.

However, watching the first races in Diriyah in season 6 it really struck me that you can actually see the difference in power on the straights.

What we take away from this is that having attack mode when your rivals don’t is a much bigger advantage this season.

Now, the new turn 8 in Santiago is actually what this whole piece is about. The problem with having such a big change in attack mode advantage is that overtaking on long corners has the potential to get a bit predictable. Usually that wouldn’t be an issue (this is a Formula E race after all, predictability isn’t a factor) as the chicane split the long corner nicely but it was removed for season 6.

When I rewatched the race I counted at least five overtakes into that corner and the majority of them involved the overtaking car having a speed advantage (attack mode, better state of charge, better battery temperatures etc.) bearing in mind these are the moves they showed on the coverage. There could have been more in the midfield.

A few examples are; when Vergne had damage and wasn’t letting da Costa past, da Costa could pass him into turn 8 with relative ease, even though Vergne was defending incredibly robustly; and of course, the move that solidified Guenther’s victory was made into turn 8, after da Costa had to start lift and coasting massively because of his battery temperature.

Although, there are a few other factors that affected the outcome of the race, one of the most obvious being Evans taking his second (and final) attack mode with 30 minutes +1 lap still left on the clock. This affected how well he could defend in the final stages of the race and as Evans said they, “. . . really shot ourselves in the foot.”

Another factor to take into account is the absolute clownery going on at the Techeetah team at the time. Without even taking into account the mess of the team orders with Vergne having major damage and not letting his teammate past, you’ve got the mess of da Costa’s race engineer not realising that he didn’t have any attack modes left to take, and then the pièce de résistance: da Costa was told his battery temperatures were fine and he should attempt to take the lead from Guenther, only to then have the team turn around after he’d made the move and say, “Your battery is so hot it’s about to spontaneously combust. You need to lift and coast.” (Paraphrased of course.)

Also Wehrlein, who was looking to be a worthy competitor, dropped back from the leading group massively after not being happy with the car and having to lift and coast much earlier than he would have liked. As it was, he managed to bring the car home in P4 but seeing as he started in P3, if he hadn’t had those issues with the car it’s likely he would have been able to cause a bit more misery for Guenther.

Additionally, when Guenther first attempted to take the lead from Evans into turn 1, Evans didn’t simply feed him into the wall. I can think of a couple more experienced drivers who might not have given the younger driver the room and he might have been left with the nasty split second decision of bin it into the rapidly approaching wall or back out.

The only other track that had its chicanes removed was Mexico.

I think removing the T3-4-5 chicane was a good change because that’s where Piquet had that horrific crash last season and that just seems like not only the most respectful thing to do, but also the most responsible.

Also something about that extra bit of track is just so incredibly pleasing to me and I can’t really put my finger on why. I remember sitting on my couch in pitch darkness at about 2am with the volume turned all the way down, so as not to wake my family, to watch the first practice session. I’d seen the track map on instagram but I didn’t really have any strong feelings about what it was actually going to look like.

But something about the shot looking from the double apexed hairpin up towards the rest of the circuit made something click for me. Maybe I’d been lying to everyone I spoke to (and myself) about how road racing is the superior form of racing and my heart sung for the idea of grass runoffs. Maybe it just triggered major déjà vu and reminded me of the tracks my dad used to race his motorbikes at. All I know is I genuinely really love that extra section of track.

The other chicane that was removed was the turn 14-15-16 one and I don’t have as strong feelings about this one as I do the Santiago one. I think other than maybe allowing the cars to get up to higher top speeds on the pit straight; making it harder for the leading car to pick a place to take-off after the safety car pits; and the increased tyre wear on the left hand tyres removing this chicane didn’t really change the whole track overall.

All in all, I believe that if the chicane in Santiago had still been there, Guenther would have had to do more work to get his first win so early in the season and it would have made for more interesting viewing. Chicane’s splitting up the longer corners tend to make it easier for drivers struggling with speed, tyre wear, damage, usable energy, battery temperatures etc. to defend from better faring drivers behind them and means they aren’t at such an obvious disadvantage.

That being said, I do believe Guenther would have won his first race this year regardless, as he has really come into his own since being given the BMW seat. In fact, it isn’t unlikely he would have got his first podium in Diriyah had he not broken the rules about overtaking under the safety car.

I’m sure I wasn’t alone in having many doubts about Guenther being da Costa’s replacement at BMW, but if I truly believed that all his successes up to and including Santiago could be chalked up to luck, his performance in Marrakech would destroy all such thoughts. As I’ve said before, I’m not a massive Max Guenther fan, and it can be argued that Vergne was sick, but the way Guenther sold the dummy to the double world champion and passed him to clinch second even had me on my feet in amazement.

Oh, I agree. I'm a hopeless romantic like Joe, so I desperately hope they make up. And I read the comic before watching the movie, so I was looking for clues, and they were all there: Andy was grieving and angsting, was envious and sad of Joe and Nicky being happy together, 'cause she used to have that; the Iron Maiden scene; and 'not meant to be alone', but Andy thinks she is meant to be alone. What other relationship with compare to being with someone for a third of your lifetime? (p1)

And I might be in the minority, but I prefer movie canon to the comics - the relationships are more organic and fleshed out, and some plot holes smoothed over. What did you think? There is a line, though - 'but the woman I loved does under the water', and I'm hoping to hear it in the sequel. I think that's one of the things that could bring Quynh back from her madness, and her rage. And the fact that Andy is mortal. You can't erase a relationship like theirs. It's incomprehensible. (p2)

Quynh spent most of her life with Andy by her side. I don't think she knows how to exist without her. It would be the same for Nicky and Joe. When you are connected to someone like that, it's impossible to tell where they begin and you end, you are too closely entwined. And yeah, it might take another 500 years or eternity like you said, but they'll get there. (p3)

Also the way Veronica Ngô portrayed her? Can't imagine her playing a villain for too long. And having an overarching villain be an Asian queer woman? Doesn't sit well with me. Let them destroy oppressive systems together. There are more than enough real monsters out there in the world, but a woman with unimaginable trauma. And I wanna see Nile surrounded by two annoying immortal dorks, and a less depressed straight asshole brother (eventually). (p4)

I hope you don't give up and write more of them. I re-read your story probably 5x by now. I believe you walk the line between old and traumatised Quynh really well. I imagine it's difficult to write that dual nature between love and hate, madness and sanity. I don't think she is even fully present most of the time. She desperately needs her family to bring her back, and she needs to heal by someone who knows and understands, and will burn the world to the ground if they try to hurt her. (p5)

Hi! I’m sorry I took so long to answer. I finished reading the comics, I started them again, I watched the movie one more time, I’m not sure why I’m so emotionally invested but I am! Let me tell you, the comics deeply affected me. There’s so much to say!

I’m so happy I read the comics, they add so many layers to the story and I agree with you! In general I liked the movie a bit more. But the comic does make some good points, like Andy not losing her immortality yet. And I loved that she get to have a normal conversation with Quynh, and it wasn’t just fighting, I hope that if there’s a sequel we get to see that because yes! talk about things!

Though I have a few problems with the way the second volume ended. Andy’s greatest fear is being alone and I get that Nile walks away but Joe, Nicky and Booker, without saying a thing? Joe, Nicky and Copley have the proof that Andy has done a lot of good for this worlds and don’t say a thing and leave her alone? I didn’t love that.

But! You are so right about Andy and Quynh being too closely intertwined and too difficult to erase their relationship. Something I’ve been thinking about is their loneliness. No one in the team has known loneliness like those two. Nile was found after a day, Booker after a year i think? Joe and Nicky really always had each other. But Andy spent thousands of years alone, then both her and Quynh another thousand years to find each other, then Quynh 500 years alone in the ocean? You can’t just !!! erase, ignore, break, give up a connection like that.

As for what I hope will happen... it’s complicated, because after the movie I expected Quynh to be angry, mad, thirsty for revenge, sure. I Thought she’d want to destroy Andy and the team for breaking the promise. But after reading the comics it looks like it’s even more than that! She’s angry with the entire world and she’s powerful and she looks so determined to cause suffering. However... after she kissed Andy... that’s some vulnerability right there. Neither of them is a lost cause, I’m sure. I have so much hope for them. And I really doubt the writer, after giving us such a thoughtful and heartfelt story would go and be cruel to these two immortal soulmates. Both Andy and Quynh have a lot to work through, and they fact that they are reunited, that they won’t ever have to be alone again, that they can figure it out together... yeah, I strongly believe that means they can heal together, be happy, be in love, have the happy ending they’s earned.

Oh and a last little thing. I did Not plant to write more about these two but... God they are just such a powerful couple and I’m so emotional and !!! I have to. I’ll admit, and this is the first time I do it because seriously after posting something I never re-read it, but even I have read again that one shot a couple of times because i find it is a very soothing scenario that I can believe in, where they reunite and it’s imperfect but it will be fine.

If you could create an AU which incorporated all four Charmed sisters, how would the story go? And how would it affect their powers?

Hi! Sorry it took me a week to answer yourquestion. And sorry about this, but while I was writing the answer, my handsslipped on the keyboard and I accidentallywrote a ramble that has 3K words… Oops?

TL;DR: Most of the show’s plots would be pretty muchthe same if I was too lazy to do more than incorporate the fourth sister intoeach episode—or very different if I was self-indulgent and decided to fixeverything I don’t like about the show while I’m at it. :D The girls wouldeither grow up together, or they’d learn about Paige’s existence as adults (Ithink the best time for this would either be the pilot episode or P3 H2O).Paige would be the only one who might have different powers (lots of optionshere), Prue, Piper and Phoebe would have the same ones.

Truth be told, this is not a topic I’ve thoughtabout too much before. Currently, most of my fanfic-daydreaming revolves arounda different fandom. At the height of my love for Charmed, most of myfanfic-daydreams focused on either A) my own season 9, or B) anythingChris-centric (had a huge crush on him back in the day).

Now here’s the thing: my season 9 was actuallya Power of Four story, but I’m reluctant to call it an AU because I was tryingto make it canon-complaint (albeit with a twist). It’s a sequel, not a rewrite.To be clear, when I say this story is canon-compliant, I’m only talking aboutthe show, not the comics. I actually started writing it a year before the firstCharmed comic was published. I never finished writing it, though. Iwrote three episodes and then abandoned it. :D

Although I didn’t really get around toexploring this in the fanfic, I still remember how I planned on explaining whythe Charmed Ones became the Power of Four rather than the Power of Three.Here’s where the canon-twisting comes in. Let me tell you the story I had inmind:

In AllHalliwell’s Eve, when Cole and the Charmed Ones time-traveled to the 1600s,they unintentionally altered history without realizing it (butterfly effect andall that). After they returned to the present, Angels of Destiny sensed thedisturbance, and they foresaw a powerful evil rising to power and taking overthe world in just a few years. Because this was not meant to happen and wentagainst the grand design they were protecting, they decided to interfere—bygiving the Charmed Ones, the most powerful good witches ever, even more powerso that they could defeat this evil being. How did they give them more power?By turning the Power of Three™ into the Power of Four™. But because P4 wassomething that also went against the grand design, turning P3 into it wasn’tthat simple. They had to work step by step:

Step 1: Magically create* Paige, a love childof Patty and Sam. Give her a telekinetic power like Prue has (albeit with aWhitelighter-y spin) so that she can replace the oldest and most powerfulsister of the trio.

Step 2: Make sure that Prue dies and that Piperand Phoebe meet Paige, creating a new version of P3.

Step 3: Wait a few years to give the new trioenough time to really consolidate this new Power of Three and reach the strengthand bond level that the first trio had.

Step 4: Make sure that Prue is revived. SincePiper and Phoebe now have an equally strong bond with Prue as well as Paige,the two P3s merge and become P4.

Step 5: Wait another couple of years to give P4a chance to consolidate, to give Prue and Paige a chance to form the samestrong bond they have with Piper and Phoebe.

Step 6: Now is the time when the evil tries totake over the world. Make sure the Power of Four™ find out about it, then stepaside and let them handle it.

Step 7: Congratulations! The over-powered P4managed to defeat the evil. Though the existence of P4 does go against thegrand design, it is not as bad as it would have been had the evil won, so justshrug that off and live with it. Things may not be exactly as meant to, but hey, good enough. Go back to wherever it isthat Angels of Destiny live, and relax. Your job is done.

* My original idea for how the Angels ofDestiny created Paige was that they time-traveled to November 1976. There they performedsome kind of magic that caused Patty to conceive a baby the next time she andSam… you know. I called this canon-compliant because everything we saw on theshow really did happen, the twist is just that the reason it happened is becausethe Angels altered history. I have to admit, though, now that I’m thinkingabout this, I can’t figure out why they would bother with a convoluted planlike this if they could have just time-traveled to the 1600s instead andchanged the thing that started the butterfly effect. I don’t remember if I hadthis thought-out back then or not, though I’m guessing I didn’t.

An alternative way of creating Paige that Ithought of now: the Angels of Destiny pulled a “last Thursdayism” on Paige.When you’re playing The Sims 2, you can’t turn back time, but you can alwayscreate a new sim, an adult sim, and that sim will have memories even thoughthey’re brand new in the game. The Angels of Destiny couldn’t time-travel, butthey could create Paige. So they did,and they gave her and the people she would’ve had relationships with fakememories as if she were alive the whole time and not a brand new person.

Backstory

Leaving aside the sequel, if I were to rewritethe show with the Power of Four™, if I were to make an AU that starts from thebeginning, how would the story of the show go? Let’s talk about how the wholething would begin, how P4 would get established. Like I said, I haven’t giventhis much thought before, so allow me to brainstorm here and see what I cancome up with.

Version 1: Witch/Whitelighter relationshipsare not forbidden. Patty and Sam don’t have to hide their relationship, so theyget married and Sam becomes the step-father of Prue, Piper and Phoebe. ThenPatty gets pregnant and gives birth to Paige, who they don’t have to give away,so they raise the four girls together. Of course, not too long after Paige’sbirth, Patty dies.

Version 1A: After Patty’s death, Sam clips hiswings but stays with the family. He raises the girls along with Penny. Ofcourse, since the girls had their powers bound and Patty and Penny decided tohide magic from them until they are old enough, the girls don’t know that Samis a former Whitelighter. When their powers are unbound after Penny’s death in1998, Sam tells them the truth and becomes their guide as they learn tonavigate their lives as witches.

Version 1B: After Patty’s death, Sam ends uppulling a Victor and abandons the girls (poor Prue gets double Daddy issues).He tries to watch over them from afar, but doesn’t get too involved in theirlives, making only scarce guest appearances on the show like Victor does.

Version 1C: Sam dies with Patty. Or at somepoint after Patty, who cares? The point is he’s gone, the girls are raised solelyby Penny and there is only one Victor on the show.

Either way, in this version, all four girlsgrow up together. When Phoebe finds the Book in the attic in the first episode,they all get their powers together. They are all in the story from thebeginning to the end.

Version 2:Witch/Whitelighter relationships areforbidden, but Patty decides to keep the baby anyway. She knows the Elders aredumb and useless, so she doesn’t worry about anything happening to Paige. If the Elders ever notice that Patty’spregnant or has a newborn, she just tells them the baby is Victor’s (says theyhad a one-night-stand or something), and they fall for it, so no problemo.

In this version, the girls grow up together aswell, just like in version 1, but there is one difference: Paige doesn’t knowthat Victor is not her father, doesn’t know that she’s only a half-sister ofPrue, Piper and Phoebe.

Version 2A:Paige doesn’t develop Whitelighter powers at the beginning, she only has awitch power. She starts developing Whitelighter powers later on and is veryconfused by it, until…

Version 2B:Paige has Whitelighter powers from the beginning, but none of the sisters haveany idea what a Whitelighter is at that time.

Version 2Ba: Later,the sisters meet Leo. They discover that he is something called a Whitelighterand that he has the same powers that Paige has. They’re all very confused byit, until…

Version 2Bb:Leo enters the story later on (or never?), or he enters early but the sisters don’tfind out that he’s a Whitelighter until later on. The Charmed Ones are notaware that Whitelighters are a thing until…

…the sisters learn about Sam, Patty’s Whitelighterfrom before she died. This is where Paige discovers that Victor is not herbiological father, and that she is her sisters’ half-sister. Cue some Paigeangst here.

Version 3:Patty and Sam give Paige up for adoption like they did in canon. In the firstepisode of the show, Prue, Piper and Phoebe meet Paige, who has discovered thattheir mother was her biological mother. It’s like in the reboot, when Mel andMaggie met Macy in the first episode. Of course, Prue, Piper and Phoebe arereluctant to believe Paige at first, but later that night Phoebe finds the Bookof Shadows in the attic. She reads aloud a spell to unbind the powers of the“four sisters,” and she reads about Melinda Warren’s “Power of Four” prophecy.When all four of them start performing magical tricks the next day, Prue, Piperand Phoebe realize Paige might have been right. Cue them getting to know eachother and forming the P4 together.

Version 4: Pattyand Sam give Paige up for adoption like they did in canon. Prue, Piper andPhoebe do not meet Paige right from the beginning. All the spells thatmentioned “three” in canon don’t mention any number in this version. MelindaWarren’s prophecy was some vague crap about three sisters (each with one of herthree powers) finding the light and together becoming the strongest witchesever. As it later turns out, this “light” is the half-WhitelighterPaige. But the sisters don’t know that yet at the beginning of the story.

At the beginning, the sisters feel that they’renot reaching their full potential. The spells meant to be cast by the CharmedOnes together aren’t fully effective. For instance, Charmed vanquishing spellsonly wound the demons; this is enough to let the sisters finish the demons offotherwise (like, with athames and offensive potions and stuff), but still, thespells are not strong enough to actually vanquish the demons as they’re meantto. However, the girls attribute this purely to the fact that they are new atthe craft. They figure they’ll get better in time, as they learn to controltheir powers better and get more practice.

Then surprise! Later on (I think the best timefor this would be the episode P3 H2O—ornot quite P3 H2O ’cause I didn’t likethat episode, but instead some good episode that also introduces Sam, Patty’sformer Whitelighter and lover), they discover that their mother had a baby withher Whitelighter, who she had to give up for adoption because it was aforbidden baby. This baby, now a young adult, is a fourth sister, who’s ahalf-Whitelighter. Prue, Piper and Phoebe look for her and find Paige Matthews.When Paige joins them, they can suddenly perform much more powerful magic thanbefore. Vanquishing spells actually kill the demons, etc. The Charmed Ones nowrealize what the prophecy really meant.

Version 5:Patty and Sam give Paige up for adoption like they did in canon. Similarly to version4, Prue, Piper and Phoebe do not meet Paige right from the beginning. However,they don’t lack full power here, because in this version the Charmed Ones onlyhave the Power of Three. The Power of Four does not and cannot exist. MelindaWarren’s prophecy wasn’t vague, the P3 spells all work as intended, etc.

When the Charmed Ones learn about Paige in P3 H2O, she doesn’t add to the group andsuddenly make them stronger. Instead, what they discover is that Paige has theability to replace any of the sisters in the Power of Three. You can read moreabout how this works below, in the section Powers: version 4.

Okay, I think that’s all the ideas I can comeup with now. If I were to choose just one of these versions… I don’t know, Imight go with Version 3, or maybe Version 1C.

Story

Now we’ve established how the story wouldstart—but how would the story go?

All right, if P3→P4 were the only change madeto the series, I imagine the story would go pretty much the same way, exceptthere’d be four sisters reciting spells together rather than three. :DObviously, one sister dying and getting replaced wouldn’t happen in thisversion, but I feel like in most plots there wouldn’t be a problem withincorporating the fourth sister into them, and it wouldn’t be necessary tochange them too much.

Of course, you could change how the storylineswould play out if you wanted to. For instance, when Cole becomes the Source inseason 4, I feel like Prue would also notice that he was acting weird, maybeeven sooner than Paige did. So then Prue and Paige could team up, and togetherthey could find some concrete evidence, which would convince Piper and Phoebethat Cole was evil (again). Then they could either A) vanquish Cole sooner,before Phoebe has a chance to get pregnant and join him as the Queen of theUnderworld, or B) save Cole before it’s too late, turning him into a mortal (again).

But I don’t think it would be necessary to makechanges like these. The storylines could play out more or less in the same way.For instance, Piper and Phoebe disregarded Prue’s concerns in season 3—whywouldn’t they do it again in season 4? I do think that, with Prue being alivethe whole time, Piper would keep more of her early-seasons personality lateron. Which means that when Phoebe becomes Queen of the Underworld, Prue wouldmore likely take the role that Piper played in that episode. Piper herselfcould be more of a hopeful peacemaker with Paige—or she could do her own thing,she could get tired of playing the peacemaker and try to stay on the sidelinesof this conflict, be all “I’m tired of getting stuck in the middle of your crapmy whole life, leave me out of this.” But this wouldn’t affect the storyline’sturn-out much. In the end, Phoebe would still vanquish Cole and he would comeback and they would vanquish him again and all that.

I could see it going either way, different orthe same. So now the question is this: if I’m creating this AU, do I want to tryand keep the show as it is, keep all the same storylines, with the only big differencebeing that all four sisters are there at all times (which would be the easierway to do this)—or do I want to take this opportunity to self-indulge and putin the work and change every single thing I don’t like about the show while I’mat it? :D I love Charmed, it’s been one of my favorite TV shows for thelast 15 years or so, but let’s be real, it ain’t perfect.

One thing I’d like to address before I move on tothe final section, the powers, is the question of Prue’s love life. If shedoesn’t die mere two years after Andy, that means something has to change.Obviously, Prue can’t end up marrying anyone other than Andy, which means thatA) Andy wouldn’t die in this story, B) Andy would die but would later bebrought back to life, or C) Prue would take a vow of celibacy and prove thatyou don’t need romance in your life to be fulfilled. Well, I feel like C) wouldbe out of character for her, so I guess it’s either A) or B). Either one worksfor me, just as long as the two of them get their happily ever after togetherand get married and have babies and stuff. :)

Powers

Now, in terms of powers, I see fourpossibilities.

Version 1: (This option applies to Backstory: version1, 2 and 4.) All the sisters have the same powers they had on the show. TheCharmed Ones were prophesized to be siblings who are descendants of MelindaWarren and who, as a group, have each of Melinda’s three powers. P4 meet thecriteria, which makes them the Charmed Ones.

Version 2: (This option applies to Backstory: version1, 2 and 3.) Melinda had four powers, not three. The Charmed Ones wereprophesized to be four sisters with the Power of Four. Paige, as the fourthsister, has the fourth power that Melinda had. This fourth power could reallybe anything: invisibility, telepathy, icy breath (like Prue’s past life), youname it. There’s countless possibilities here.

Version 3: (This option applies to Backstory: version1, 2B and 4.) Paige only has Whitelighter powers. Of course, she is ahalf-witch, she is part of the Power of Four™, she can cast spells with hersisters and stuff, but she didn’t inherit any of the three Warren powers thather sisters have. She doesn’t mind, though, ’cause she has enough powers as aWhitelighter.

Version 4: (This option applies to Backstory: version1, 2 and 5.) The prophesized sisterhood is a trio, not a quartet. There canonly be the Power of Three, not the Power of Four. Paige is an extra fourthsister. If she were to recite a spell along with Prue, Piper and Phoebe, theeffect would be exactly the same as it would be if only Prue, Piper and Phoebesaid it. Paige can’t add to the Power of Three—but she can intercept it andform the Power of Three with any two of her sisters.

In this version, Paige possesses all threeWarren powers: telekinesis, freezing, and negligib— I mean, premonitions.However, she can’t use them whenever she wants to. She also has Whitelighterpowers, which she can use at any time, but the Warren powers she can only useunder certain conditions. To give an example of the conditions I have in mind:

Let’s say Paige wants to use telekinesis. Inorder to do that, the distance between Prue and all three of her sisters has tobe bigger than the distance between Paige and Piper/Phoebe. Plus, it can’t justbe a centimeter bigger (that would be a total chaos), it has to be at least, say,100 meters bigger, or something like that, IDK. Therefore, if all four sistersare in a room together, Paige can only use her Whitelighter powers and shecan’t cast any Power of Three spells. If Prue goes on a vacation to anothercountry and Piper, Phoebe and Paige stay in San Francisco, Paige can usetelekinesis and cast P3 spells to her heart’s desire.

One more condition could be that, since thePower of Three was meant for Prue, Paige can only use telekinesis if Prue isn’tusing it at the same time, regardless of the distance. If Prue on her vacationdecided to move a bottle of water to herself from across the room, Paige wouldnot be able to use telekinesis in that moment. Alternatively, it could be thatthis condition doesn’t apply, but what happens is that Prue loses her powerwhen Paige is tapping into her place in the Power of Three. If Prue is away ona vacation, she can’t move the bottle of water across the room magically; shehas to get up and walk for it like a normal person.

These rules also apply with freezing/premonitions,wherein Paige replaces Piper/Phoebe in the Power of Three.

An exception to these rules would be unrelatedpower losses. If, say, a demon took away Prue’s powers through apower-stripping potion, Paige would be able to use telekinesis even if she werestanding right next to Prue. However, if two or all three of her sisters losetheir powers, Paige can’t use any of her witchy abilities. She can only betapping into the Power of Three from one side at a time, not two or all three.

Does this make any sense? I hope so, but I’mnot sure.

Hi! I’ve recently fallen down the Charmed rabbit hole again and I fount your blog, which is amazing btw !! I LOVE YOUR CHARMED NEXT GEN FIC!!!! I also really enjoyed your thoughts about Phoebe's kid! I wish they would have lived in the actual show. How do you think Phoebe’s child living would have impacted her relationship with Coop? And the whole twice blessed prophecy?

as far as phoebe’s kid + the twice blessed prophecy, i have written on that au here, but i think if the baby really had been born it would not be the twice blessed but i do think they would still probably give that plotline to wyatt just bc. i also think that having a child and being a single mother would really further the need for coop bc dating as a single mom while still having a career is hard enough but dating while you’re a single mom with a full time job and a magical half demon baby who was lowkey the antichrist for the better part of the first trimester is a whole new can of worms. i think she still would have had a relationship with jason dean but i think it would be very short lived as i don’t think that he would be ready to commit to a family. and then by the time we hit season six and piper and leo have broken up and jason has left phoebe and yada yada yada phoebe would really be like huh. love isn’t real. we’re all gonna die alone.

and so she’s sitting at a cafe with paige at the end of love’s a witch and is completely ranting about how love is dead or whatever and paige is just like yeah. uh huh. yep. totally. yeah. yeah. i know what you mean. yeah. uh huh. bc it’s totally Not the time to bring up the fact that she has a date with richard on friday and phoebe’s just going on and on like “okay bc look at olivia! she was doing what she was doing out of love!! and she was killing people!!! just an evil, sad, lovesick, ghost. like me. you know cole was my longest relationship? that was like,,, the most successful relationship i had, and it wasn’t even remotely a success!! he turned me evil, paige. i became evil. because that’s what love does. it bring out the worst in people.” and paige is sitting there like jfc i think i need to bring in a shrink or something when all of a sudden the dude pulls up a chair at their table and is like “hi hate to interrupt but i couldn’t help but overhear and you’re wrong” and phoebe’s like who the hell are you and paige is like yeah fuck off buddy private conversation here and this guy’s like “look. love is the strongest magic we have” and paige is like “ehh i think other, stronger magic” and phoebe’s all like “okay, i don’t know who you are, but you don’t know me and you don’t know what i’ve been through okay so you don’t get to sit down here and try to talk to me about love. bitch.” and this guys just like “actually, i do. my name’s coop. it’s nice to meet you, officially.” and he holds out his hand for a handshake and phoebe’s looking at him like imma judo flip u motherfucker but then something catches her eye and she snatches his hand and flips it over, staring at his cupid ring and she’s like no. she grabs her coffee and storms out leaving coop and a Very Confused paige sitting at the cafe table. she turns around at the exit and gestures to paige like come on let’s go get out of here so paige grabs her croissant and purse awkwardly and leaves and coop’s like “i hope everything goes well with richard!” and paige is like????? so she pulls phoebe aside like Who Was That and phoebe’s like “that was the most annoying, pesky, interfering magical creature there is out there. that was a cupid.”

and later that night phoebe would be tucking her child asleep (who in this story is a little girl named prudence) when she hears “you love her, and it doesn’t seem to bring out the worst in you.” and she whips around to find coop leaning in the doorframe and she’s like “you better leave before i vanquish you” and coop sorta just laughs softly and he’s like “i get it. you’ve been burned before. but actively fighting love? it’s not you, phoebe.” and she’s like “tf do you think you know about me” and coop’s like “i know you believe in love. true love. the kind that takes your breath away, where it's the first thing that you think about when you wake up in the morning. you wanna know how i know that?” and phoebe just glares at him in a very defensive stance like yes i want to know but no i will not play into your stupid little monologue and coop’s like “i read your column. not many people could write like that. you help people find love every day, you help them reach out, take risks, open up their hearts-” “okay you know what i’ve had enough of your little sugar coated soap opera speech. go bug someone else.” and phoebe pushes her way past him and beelines for her bedroom, slamming the door and coop’s like :|

and the next morning phoebe’s eating cereal and by eating a i do mean just pushing wheaties around in a pool of milk while dency and wyatt play in the playpen and piper comes in with a mug of coffee like “good morning how are-” “am i a cold hearted cynic?” “...you doing this fine friday morning??” “i’ve got a cupid on my ass” “i’m going to hope you mean the magical kind and not some bad tattoo situation” “i mean, yesterday i was saying that love brings out the worst in people and now i’ve got this 6′2″ cupid with a square jawline following me around. but like,,, don’t i have the right to say that??? all love has done is hurt me. i’m allowed to bitch a little about it!! like! mind your own business??? goddamn! and you know-” “phoebe i just woke up save the onslaught until after 10am please” and phoebe just sorta pauses and goes back to pushing her cereal around and piper says “and i’m not calling you a cold hearted cynic but... you have changed” and phoebe’s completely ready to rant again like “pfft of course i’ve changed you think you can be married to the source of all-” “zp! not til after 10!” and phoebe slumps back and watches as dency draws a small pattern in frost on the tile floor and you can tell she’s sorta mulling over what coop said blah blah blah this episode is the vortex demon she gets knocked into a world based on her innermost desires and in it she’s happily married and in love in an apartment of her own raising her daughter and writing her column blah blah blah she takes one look at her finger that very much has a wedding band on it and is like “cupid!!!! cupid u fuckin bastard get down here!!! cupid!!!” and no response and she’s scowling like “coop??? coop!!!!!!!!” and he’s no where to be seen and she’s like wait shit i think this is the alternate whirlpool vortex things i gotta find my sister blah blah blah chris knocks paige into phoebe’s world and paige is like “okay what’s the catch” and phoebe’s like “what catch” and paige is like “you know, the catch! what makes this not reality. like in my world, magic was practiced openly, and everyone knew about it. come on, chris said the realities were shaped my like our fantasies or wants... is anything different here??” and phoebe’s like “oh you know uhh not really everything basically the same um but you know i have my own apartment here where i live with dency...” “oh my god wait where is she now who’s taking care of her?” “oh uh well that would be my husband.” “cole’s alive????” “no! not cole! i don’t know who he is actually but he seems nice :)” and there’s a beat where you can tell paige really wants to Get Into What This Means and phoebe really Doesn’t Want To Talk About It but then they both seem to agree that they’re being hunted by a demon so maybe this can take a back seat rn blah blah blah they kill the demon and the end of the episode paige is about to go on her date w richard and her and phoebe have a little heart to heart and paige is like i think you should talk to the cupid bc i think maybe your whole hating love thing might just be a front like i think you’re trying to convince urself of something blah blah blah and phoebe’s just like :/ maybe so.

alright blah blah blah next episode phoebe’s like “coop?” and coop, suddenly appearing behind her is like “yeah?” and phoebe’s like “i give up. so uh work your little cupid magic or whatever and i guess let’s do this thing.” and coop like lights up he’s like so happy and he’s all like “great! let’s get started!” and phoebe’s mentally preparing for a series of really boring dates but then coop surprises her by not doing that??? like he doesn’t set her up with anyone at all bc he’s all like you need time to heal and find urself again???? which honestly phoebe isn’t complaining about and like phoebe will be feeding baby dency in the kitchen and coop will pop in like “what are your thought on taking a pottery class?” and it’s happened before where she’s been so swamped with work that she doesn’t have time to pick up supplies for dency so coop will just go out and like buy diapers?? and gradually phoebe feels herself opening up more and more and one night she’s at p3 and this guy come up to talk to her and she doesn’t just scowl him away and she finds herself having a great conversation and she see coop wink at her from across the bar.

and you know things go well with this guy yada yada yada but one night she goes out on a date and her sisters weren’t able to watch lil dency for her so coop was babysitting and she comes back home to see coop sending out small pink glowing projections from his ring and her baby just laughing uncontrollably trying to catch them and phoebe gets why she has been ready to dive fully in to the guy she’s been going out with. coop says it’s just nerves bc of her past relationships and that it’s completely fine and understandable but phoebe knows better. or at least now she does. she’s in love with coop.

my guess is the whole cognition thing was meant to vary between individual targets since they see the world differently, thus allowing for different moments like one allowing the PT to change outfits (I haven't played PQ2 so I have no idea how cognition works in that game sry) prolly to make the writing process more flexible so things like that wouldn't be plot holes, buuuut I don't think it worked (or the frantic rewriting led to them just not caring like "eh it's a nitpick they won't care")

I’d agree, but considering this is such a key piece of lore, you’d think they’d mention it (again you’d think, but this is P5, no one needs to think, not even the writers 8U). Tho there is one thing that might play into what you are saying (spoiler for below: it’s the threat count). In all honesty I’m been wracking my brain around Shido’s Ship, MC’s initial summon, and PQ2′s lobby (esp since my last post, linked below when talking about Futaba).....and the only thing I can figure out a reason is probably this (under cut because I’ve lost control of my life, actually no I’ve always been long winded...aka....under the cut cause of the usual 8U):

(also they have their shoes off here, and then shoes on after the cutscene, makes no sense, just a daily reminder of this 8U) The only time Mona is in his “outfit” and no one else is-is when:

The person hasn’t obtained their Persona yet

After the MC obtained his Persona, his clothes reverted back (only to come back when he has to do another tutorial fight), it takes till the next day for him to constantly have his outfit on. (but it’s stated it’s because he doesn’t have full control over his power yet)

PQ2′s lobby (everyone else’s outfit disappears).

Uhhhh when they first go to Mementos, before they descend (tho once they do their outfits change) (that being said they said it’s cause of “the Shadows knowing they are there”....wait)

Oh almost forgot Sae, before you go inside her Palace, at the entrance and before that you don’t change, but after you meet her the Shadow deems you as a threat then even at the entrance you a deemed a threat.....BUT after you are caught you aren’t deemed a threat (but even Goro isn’t deemed one but....sigh). And I guess the interrogation room your clothes don’t change.

#1′s easy and consistent so no need to look at that. Just seems to mean Mona is susceptible to all and any level of cognition/distortion.

#2 is really interesting and wish we got more of it (or at least explained more cause....I have questions) esp since it seems to be explained by #6 (that being said, they said it’s cause he doesn’t have full control over his power so.....¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’ll try to fix it with later reasoning but hey it’s hard when the game has multiple answers for the same gd question lying to us trying to convince us it’s consistent when it’s not). In #2′s setting the MC isn’t considered a threat yet, at least his IRL identity isn’t. It’s only after he really talks to Kamo after escaping the dungeon, do we see a change the next time he goes in (aka Kamo saw him as a threat). Tho, here’s my question to that he also instantly sees Anne and Ryuji as a threat not long after they gain their Personas. Ryuji I get it, there’s always been animosity, but you’d think Anne wouldn’t be able to touch him IRL. so she’d be outfit-less outside of fights. It’d also make me question why, if they’ve never met a target IRL did they have their outfits equip? I mean iirc their outfits didn’t change for Okumura, and the reasoning is that he sees EVERYONE regardless of who they are, EVEN HIS OWN DAUGHTER as a threat! And tbh that makes sense for his dungeon. And you could retroactively apply this to previous dungeons (minus Kamo and Futaba) but......why wait till the 5TH GD DUNGEON FOR THIS KEY PIECE OF INFO??? *inhales* lfjksdafj;af

#3, watch me become an olympic pretzel trying to make this square peg fit into a round hole. By changing into swim suites the girls are not deemed as a threat, and will change into PT outfits if/when threatened like what happened for the MC on his first day. Except, PT outfits are kinda like Keyblades and are always with the characters, so.....even if they took them off they should just appear back on. Esp if Shido is like Okumura and deems everyone a threat, the PT don’t have control of their outfits to a big extent, the world overrides their wants the majority of the time (aka if they see you as a threat, you’re a threat no choice in the matter. BUT the one time the outfits overrule the world, is if the user is under a threat despite the world deeming them to not be one).

#4 I don’t know. Maybe the PT aren’t deemed as a threat, or the shadows don’t know they are there (can’t be because they are n00bs tho)? From what I can find/remember it’s not explained. That being said, P3/4 guys should 100% have PT outfits in that game, no if ands or butts. The ONLY thing different between PQ2′s world and the Metaverse is that they can’t use guns (BUT they can have outfits). And the lack of outfits for the P3/4 cast is lore breaking in and of itself. No really, I explain it all here (most of it is showing how the lore was built up throughout the game so it backs up the conclusion, but the real smoking gun is Futaba, so just ctrl+F “Futaba” and it brings you to the conclusion).

#5 *sigh* that stupid reasoning aside, I’m not against the idea (but it’s inconsistent, because wouldn’t Shadow!Kamo deem him a threat as well, and be forced to keep his outfit on? “Oh but he’s a n00b” no game, you have three explanations for one gd thing and they don’t mix well together pick one and stick with it...threat level via the host not Shadow makes a lot of sense just keep that one). Technically Mementos is its own palace, so not going inside it would mean you aren’t a threat to that Palace. Which I could work with. BUT since this is the public’s Palace, and they don’t know who the PT are....shouldn’t they not change yet? It’d be more impactful if over the course of the game, as they got popular they were finally deemed a threat to society and thus the gained an (consistently of course, with the outfit triggering for battle) outfit when they walked in.

#6 Makes sense tbh, tho, while I’m on board with it, it does make me wonder how far the threat level reaches.......is it at the entrance? Is it the entire plane? What is it? Also it’s high key stupid that they were deemed a threat by Futaba’s Shadow, esp if her Shadow has her best interests in mind....this dungeons just a mess from start to finish it makes no sense.

#7 Haha...really makes me wonder how far the threat level stretches. Because Mementos it’s not till you get inside the station that they deem you a threat, so there seems to be a distance thing (I mean so is pulling people in but we don’t need consistency :’D). Cause if they are far enough (which they are they freaking checked that their clothes don’t change), then there’s no need to worry about her “suspecting Goro” (cause his outfit would change otherwise, but since they are far enough they don’t have to worry)....BUT by her sending him and her to the Metaverse, that’d mean she DOES suspect him.....so wait what’s the point of her “not suspecting him”??????? It’d also be more interesting if Mako and Goro didn’t change outfits, because she doesn’t suspect them but kelsfjldkjfa

Anyway I’d agree with you that maybe they wanted to be flexible, but they don’t......provide the ground work for that. It def feels like they threw shit together and didn’t think we’d notice. I mean there are A LOT of writers in this game, that could explain the consistency issues. I mean it explains it not excuses it, they had years to fix it (unlike Ultimax it seems, that shit was ruuuuuuushed in such a short time).

Anyway if they wanted to make it flexible, they’d make it consistently the IRL Palace host’s threat level/way of thinking (not the Shadow self, nothing else, just the host). Cause everything, even their shadows in P5, reflects their state of mind. It’d also make for great visual storytelling too, such as Kamo deeming all the guys threats after he realizes he can’t control them, and never viewing Anne as a threat (aka showcasing he can get away with it). It’d give Okumura’s “doesn’t even trust his own daughter” thing even more weight when we got to it. Or Futaba’s complete and utter desperation to be helped more impact as well (it’d at least be a step to fixing that horrible Palace, eff it’s lore and the sphinx it rode in on). It could showcase another Palace hosts’ growing anxiety, and how they trusted people but now trust no one since the start of the dungeon. It could showcase their preferences (aka Kamoshida views rebelling males vs subjecting males/any females), or maybe they don’t like cats so Mona’s appearance is veeeery wonky in one. It could be a great way to reveal different things about the Host in a short amount of time, but this is P5 and we don’t care~! :D DX

Then again this might butt heads with the Cognitive versions, but then there’s no reasoning behind MC’s inability to maintain his outfit the first day (or why no one else has this issue). No the n00b thing makes no sense (esp since it consistently shows up when there’s trouble and disappears when trouble is gone, so it seems less about control than it is only essential when there’s danger around), because we still have the Shadow explanation from Mementos to go by and Shadow Futaba’s threat level too. But I’d say it’s totally possible that they can both exist (if explained right), Cognitive selves show 100% what that person thinks of them, while if they deem them a threat or not only affects if their outfit appears (because that is tied to the cognitive world, not the real person). With the cognitive selves serving as insight and an explanation as to why the host doesn’t deem that specific person as a threat.

Fandom Search into the New Year

Hello there, And thanks for reading this! Currently looking for more people to write with, in my free time. As I find writing, as both a way to destress from a long day, and to kill time in an enjoyable way. This post, is clearly for fandom based writing. I will list which Fandoms, and any thoughts for plot/characters we could/might include. However, everything mentioned is not needed. As we can build any idea, from the ground up. Just keep that in mind, thank you :) First, a few things about me, and such:

I am 18+, and ask that my partners are around the same.

I live in the East Coast (EST time zone) ; and work a part-time job. So my reply schedule varies.

I write in 3rd Person, Past Tense. I ask my partner does the same; but I always keep in mind, mistakes do happen. Typically, I wish to stay with Canon Characters, but will mention within each Fandom specifically, if I do or not.

Length, and such can be discussed.

Platforms I write with include: Discord, Email. Open to others, as well. My Email, the easiest way to contact me: [email protected]

When it comes to Romance within a story, I do lean more towards FxF pairings, but also open to FxM, and MxM. But I can't do a Romance only themed story. I need other themes within.

Now, onto the Fandoms, in no real order:

Dragon Ball: I have a few thoughts, when it comes to this Fandom. One, lingers within Universe 6, of the Dragon Ball Multiverse. Within the Sixth Universe, I'd like to adapt the Tuffle Arc, from GT. Having Cabba, Kale, and other Saiyans from said Universe dealing with this threat. No help from the Seventh, just the Sixth dealing with a problem. I do fancy Kale and Caulifa as a ship, so if we want to include that, let's! --My second thought, as a possible plot,is an AU of sorts. Dealing with Gohan, during the Buu Saga. However, the Saga doesn't go as it usually does. No Buu. Instead, Gohan gets to focus on Hero Work, as Great Saiyaman. In this, we can include any number of new villains, or include of Non-Canon Characters, as new foes for the Hero of Justice to deal with. Videl can be a key figure, trying to figure out Great Saiyaman, and perhaps become Great Saiyawoman.

Kingdom Hearts: Another series I love. Though, when it comes to some aspects of this series, I wish things went a different way. Of course, some of those might be answered in the Re:Mind DLC, coming out soon. Though, I leave this fandom open, if we wish to dive into any moment of KH, and re-write. Sorta, a AU, What-IF story, perhaps. Or, we can dive into any game, and explore around. Kinda like how the 358/2 Days Manga did. (358/2 is my favorite title, if any one was curious.) Again, ideally, Canon characters for this Fandom. One idea I have had for a bit, is a Final Fantasy X-2 inspired one, with the gals from KH working together on some adventure. Said Adventure, is in the air, but if you want to dive into this, awesome!

Arrow-verse/Cw DC Universe: Crisis is Here! WORLDS WILL LIVE, and WORLDS WILL DIE. Personally, really been enjoying Crisis. But, I digress. Some ideas we could go about: Creating our own Earth, within the Multiverse. -Playing with whatever characters we want, in a tale we create. -Dealing with Earth-X, and a possible Multiverse Invasion! -2040's! I love the future characters of: Mia, Conner, William, and Nora (despite what happened to her) We could set things in a AU of 2040's, and a new Trio. We would have to figure out who would be the Super-girl add in, as Nora would be the Flash add in, and Mia and her team, clearly the Arrow members. -Crisis even! If we want a different character added in, maybe from Titans, or any Earth, and want to change how Crisis was played out (from the three parts out now), we can! I am open to adapting comic characters, who haven't been within the shows yet, too!

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: For this Fandom, I actually wish to craft our own characters, and story. As, spoilers, this is a sense of a Multiverse within Jojo. Let's go in our own. Of course, I would prefer if we keep certain names; as in Joestar. I feel one of our characters, should be a Joestar, in our own Universe. Could be the start of the Generation in our story, or already a descendant. Other Family names we could keep: Zeppeli, Brando, Kishibe, and others! But, our own versions of characters (if that makes any sense!) I'd like to have Hamon, somehow added too. I always liked Hamon, but of course Stands are all the rage.

Star Wars (Disney Era): So, I had just seen, The Rise of Skywalker. If you have not, no worries, no spoilers from me. Though, I will note- I did not hate or completely love it either. I am alright, with what it is, considering everything leading into production and what not. That doesn't mean, I wouldn't do things differently. So, if anyone is interesting in some AU, within the Skywalker Saga- changing events (perhaps re-writing TROS completely,) or what not, let's start crafting. It could be our own re-write, or scrap ideas from that film all together, and create some end of the Skywalker Saga, we want. Or, if we want to dive into any moment in the universe, we can.

Persona 5: My favorite Persona game, given the fact I have only played P5 and games connected/involving characters from. I have watched some of P3, but I have no real interests in P4, as a friend has told me the basic summary of the game. That said, for this Fandom, I prefer to stick with the canon characters, as much as possible. Though, plots can be anything really! Want to dive in some Redemption Arc for Akechi? Some time-loop with Akiren/Joker? Dive into some romantic tale with our Favorite Ship? (Mine is MakotoXAnn~). Crossover with another game? Maybe Kingdom Hearts? Any number of AU's? Let's chat and steal some hearts!

A small list of others, that I don't have too much thought out about: Pokemon (Games, and Manga mostly) , Star Battlefront II (EA) , Power Rangers/Super Sentai, Marvel Comics.
