Pokemon Crossbreeds: Searin

(Inspired by @onemegawatt )

Searin is the name for Swablu/Altaria with Feebas/Milotic Fathers. The breed was named after the mythical creatures in mythology known as Sirin, who were birds with the faces of beautiful (who would lure men to their death). While the Swablu of this breed aren't very popular (sad, they're very cute), the Altaria are, and this breed is loved by contest judges. In the wild, they leave near the sea.

Swablu

My favorite member of this breed. It's just so darn cute! Searin Swablue gain the spots and fluffy tails of Feebas, but they tend to be shyer. Their feathers do collect more dust, and since they're usually laid near unclean seas, they can end up being very dirty. But, they're a hard breed and are great swimmers, being able to fly and swim for miles.

Altaria

Searin Altaria gain the beautiful fan-tails of Milotic, as well as 4 headcrests instead of one. They're most often found on small islands in the middle of the ocean or loving mear small lakes with flocks that consist mostly of their sibilings. Their fluff is better suited for water, and it won't shrink like regular Altaria's (wet Altaria still haunts me). Because of the songs they'd sing, many sailors back them would mistake them for harpys or sirins.

After seeing all the human Milotic fan art, I'm curious as to how Octavinelle would be like with a Milotic (from Pokemon) MC/Yuu.

Oh. I’m not that versed with Pokémon stuff but I’ll do my best.

Description

In your previous life you were a beautiful and calming Milotic. When you were brought into the world of twisted wonderland you had become a strange mix of your previous self and a human. You struggled at first to grasp language but it seemed that your presence and abilities were still able to calm those around you. You were about 6 feet tall with cream colored skin. Bright red eyes and long beautiful red hair with blue along the tips. You had scales along your legs In an array of magenta and blue. When in the water your legs would change to a beautiful fan like tail. many around the school liked to be around you and showered you with gifts. But often you would disappear after calming any fights around the school only one group of students knew where you went in those moments.

Octavinelle

Azul: was the first one surprisingly to find where you went off to after you’ve calmed some of the fights around campus. He had his special hideaway in the octavinelle dorm deep under the sea. He goes there to relax after a long day to stretch out his tentacles and allow the pressure of the deep to massage the tension out of his muscles. One day he went to his usual clearing in a deep crevice near the dorm. He stumbled upon you laying on the sea floor in your mer form, dazzling magenta and blue scales out in display, a gentle pink glow coming from under your skin. He wanted to hide away, be angry at you for finding the one spot he was sure no one else could reach. But his anger dissipated when he made eye contact with you. You just smiled and invited him closer. He really liked your mer form and wanted to show it off to the world but in moments like this he was glad it was only just for him.

Jade: jade was fascinated by your abilities how you could seemingly learn magic but only a few things at a time or only use a set of magic at a time. He liked to watch you so effortlessly disarm a situation and calm everyone around yourself. Even sent many arguing people your way. Tried to convince you to join him in the mostro lounge to stop any fights. Though his favorite discovery was following you after you retreated from a fight you had calmed. He watched you walk into the octavinelle mirror. And watched as you stood in the small pool next to the mirror that lead out into the ocean around the dorm. Your legs transformed and you retreated toward the deeper parts of the ocean. He quickly disrobed and followed you. Coiling around you when he had finaly caught up. But despite wanting to ask many questions and test your scale strength he was already calmed and uncoiled from your form you both swimming to a canal cave filled with glowing moss to relax. He happily rambled about his interests and you shared a few things you remembered from your world.

Floyd: he thought you looked cool but hearing that you broke up fights just by showing up? He then thought you were super boring and a party pooper! He liked to call you oarfish, from the look of your pale skin and red hair. He was always grouchy when you showed up when he was about to fish someone and then he didn’t want to fight anymore! He was going to have fun! Meany. Grumpily went to octavinelle but saw something flash by in the water and immediately dives into a nearby pool to chase after whatever that was. When he finally caught up to the strange but pretty tailed fishy. When he found it was you he got pretty excited. He liked to compliment your pretty tail and fins! Probably did the equivalent of excited zoomies around you before calming down and falling asleep with you tightly in his hold and coils.

This may sound like an odd question at first, but it relates to a serious error ive made recently and i feel just terrible about it.

A question from a concerned trainer: Can most pokemon distinguish between an act of carelessness/recklessness against them and an act of intentional ill-will? (specifically, fish pokemon such as feebas/milotic)

Now, for context, the great 'error' ive made is that ive been frankly neglecting the general wellbeing of my best friend, my most beloved loyal companion; my Milotic, Athena. Ive only JUST realized it, and now i feel awful about it :<

You see, in an effort to better myself as a trainer and better understand the native pokemon of my region (I'm from Galar), i have recently been taking up the large task of filling up my pokedex. I have caught many different species of pokemon with my best and most strong of companions, Athena; and she has been nothing but the greatest of pokemon to me. But today a certain unusual behavior of hers made me realize that since taking up this pokedex-quest, i haven't been the trainer she deserves back.

Confession of a selfish trainer:

I had been using her as just a tool, a stepping stone, and not regarding her as the most beautiful and deserving friend as i had been before... We'd go out into the wild area for hours on end each day, battle after battle, never taking a break, never stopping to rest, only me and her, and even only ever healing when she physically could not go on further or without risking her serious harm. But by far the worst thing i did was never allowing her to battle these opponents...

Athena is very strong, and thus even on the toughest of wild area pokemon, even one attack would render them... uncatchable. So i made the same mistake over and over infinitely, of ignoring her, only focused on catching, never attacking, constantly letting her get bombarded with enemy attacks.

It was only when she began acting out against my idiocy- an apathy for battling, a profound distantness, with wavering obedience that had previously *never* faltered- that i realized i was doing something terrible, and doing it to my best friend no less... the worst was when i realized i hadnt had her healed at a proper pokemon center in over a week, despite non-stop battling. I had been using bag items, but those are surely no replacement for centers entirely, right?

Even after going on an amazing camping trip, making her favorite curry, and ensuring to give her my fullest attention whenever she even hinted at wanting it, i still feel like such a bad trainer, and an awful and dirty person, that i dont deserve the position i have, the incredible pokemon i have, their incredible stregth and loyalty...

So i ask one question:

Will/can she ever forgive me? (not that i would have done anything to deserve or be entitled to forgiveness after what i did...)

Sorry for the incredibly long length of this question, but i thought it was important to provide all context i had and get this off my chest.

Anonymous, I mean this in the kindest possible way:

Go to therapy.

I am no psychologist nor psychiatrist. I cannot diagnose anything, nor can I help. But you are displaying here a serious obsessive streak in a frankly worrying manner. To nonstop battle, to the detriment of your bonds with your closest friends, is one thing. But to not notice when over a week has passed in such a situation is extremely abnormal.

In addition- Yes, you messed up. You damaged your bond with your Pokemon. But you should not be asking me for how to repair this bond, or if this bond can be repaired. You should be looking to her. Milotic are intelligent, and can discern the difference between intentional and accidental harm in many ways, but extreme prolonged neglect... Judging from the lengths you have described, you can hardly call it 'unintentional' anymore. She is not sapient or sentient in a human way, but she still has emotions of her own. It is up to you to decide what is best.

And, to be blunt, dumping all of this in the inbox of a total stranger does not speak wonders to your mental state, either.

Go to therapy. Both for yourself, and for Athena.

If you were to rank the mystery dungeon from your favorite to least favorite and why, what would that look like?

Eilwyn: Thank you for asking me specifically... My top dungeon is Serenity River, because it's really nice and calm. The pokemon there are really nice and like to trade good moisturizing tips. Then I like the Surrounded Sea, because it's fun to bump into the invisible sea walls there that form. It's also fun to explode them with a cool orb. Then I like the Marine Resort. That one is a dungeon inside of a town, but they made it kinda like a vacation spot. There are sea cucumbers that grow there that aren't sea cucumbers the animal but cucumbers that grow in the sea and are really nice to put on your eyeballs. Then I like Drenched Bluff, because I don't have to worry about getting rehydrated there. Then I like Lapis Cave, because the temperature is always nice and it's pretty there. Then I like Waterfall Pond, because there are a lot of nice Feebas and Milotic there. Then I like Fantasy Strait, because every time I go there's a group of pokemon that try to mug me and it's a great way to test my orbs on pokemon that don't exactly consent to it but it's alright because it's self-defense. Then I like Apple Woods because the jobs there are easy and the apples there are great for when I try making Apple Orbs which are apples that are inside of orbs. Then I like Pitfall Valley because one time I helped a Latios get his sister out of a hole and they gave me some cool feathers that I used to make the best Decoy Orb I ever made. And also the holes there are really cool. And funny if someone steps on one. Then there's Illusory Grotto which is disorienting because it's like the whole dungeon and the pokemon inside are using a forever Decoy Orb so it's hard to explore. Then there's Mt. Thunder which isn't very fun at all because I have to eat so many Cheri Berries whenever I'm in there because I keep getting paralyzed. Then there's Silver Trench which I almost died in because I wanted to keep diving and forgot to eat. Then there's Northwind Field which is really dry which makes me thirsty and it's also cold. Then there's Northern Desert which is a desert and it sucks because it's a desert. I probably forgot a bunch of dungeons, but hope this helped.

My Dream Pokémon Game: Pokémon Contest Legends

Despite the fact that since Ultra Sun and Moon I think Pokémon has mostly been on a decline serving up fairly poor games, especially in the main line entries, Pokémon still has a special place in my heart. So I wanted to talk about what spin off game I would love to see happen in the series.

An element really hyped up in the anime is Pokémon Contests giving full ass contest arcs, this would trickle into the manga as well and in my imagination Contests were a big deal in the world. For me they were always this nice element where you weren't having animals beat each other up but preforming with an animal and that felt very different and very sweet. So this game revolves around Pokemon Contests expanding them into a full fledged game rather than a side event.

Customization

This is the name of the game, this game is all about showing off and feeling like you really are connecting with your favorite Pokémon. Taking the cute mini games of the series and elevating them to not a half ass side show but a fleshed out part of the Pokémon world. Having a full roster of lovely outfits for you and your Pokémon to share. Dressing up Pokémon and yourself was such a massive feature of contests in the Pokémon anime and is a long time requested feature of many fans which has only happened a few times. Cosplay Pikachu was given a limited set of outfits, ash hat pikachus exist to give Pikachu a little accessory, and Partner Pikachu and Eevee were both given several outfits in Let's Go. So I think it's about time the dress up was elevated both for trainers and Pokémon.

Your Pokémon and you preform together in contests showing off your style and kicking butt at bringing the elements of contests together as you aim to be the Contest Master. The Pokémon outfits could work with compatibility frames and work on body type molds so some outfits are for some types of bodies like serpentine bodies, quadruped, humanoid, etc.

Clothing should be totally ungender locked your performers and performers get fucky with gender some times. A lot of human outfits can be meant to match with Pokémon but also should have some fun costumes, references to older trainers in the series, and some modern Harajuku deals to really sell the fashionable customization elements.

Customization could be bolstered like in Animal Crossing by allowing people to upload patterns and designs and really allowing a player's agency to go above and beyond for these contests to create truly dazzling and unexpected performances.

Pokémon Roster

The game mixes things up breaking away from your normal choice of starters by instead leading you chose from one of three Mythical Pokémon who were amazed by your performance getting to chose between Victini, Manaphy, and Celebi as your starting contest Pokémon. Instead equally fun would be a mystery Dungeon esc personality quiz that results in you getting suggested one Pokémon that fits your personality but the ability to instead chose any you like after from a selection of Pokémon. You could even go with just picking between Eevee and Pikachu the series two mascots given Let's Go gave them several adorable outfits already and they are extremally iconic starters most people wouldn't mind not even evolving.

I think ideally this game could work with the existing models from Pokémon Unite along with creating new models of similar qualities since the game already has lots of outfits to dress up your mons in but obviously the 59 final evos with 54ish [not totally sure] Pokémon from the evo lines making a total of 103 Pokémon already model in the style. Double that to like 200 and bam that's a respectable roster for a Pokémon game. If you were getting frisky you could go with 300 even. Add some contest staples from the anime and games like Altaria, Milotic and Seviper and you got a classic roster that is sure to hit generations of people in the nostalgia bones.

Pokémon Catching

Catching Pokémon would work similarly to Legends Arceus with it being quick and easy to throw balls at Pokémon and mostly being a human vs mon kinda vibe but with the ability to send out your Pokémon to help support you in catching Pokémon. The battle mechanics are not the focus and instead the contest abilities simply help you put pressure on Pokémon. You'd have dex like in the legends game with tasks to complete that progress and give you rewards.

This could bring in a classic element, shiny hunting, and more to broaden the games audience and still allow for the really personal feeling of teams in Pokémon games.

That said I could see a method of catching Pokémon that is instead Pokémon basically willingly joining up with you after wild performances but perhaps a system like that and a system like Legends Arecus both could co exist.

Pokémon Raising

Pokémon can progress through capturing Pokémon, entering contesting, clearing dex challenges, and pokefood. Like in legends arecus and go releasing Pokémon can provide you with food to feed your Pokémon to raise their contest stats taking a bit of the old Pokeblock system but adding a new twist to it. In addition other Pokefood could be bought in shops and stuff and sharing a meal with your Pokemon can raise their stats and your relationship together up.

I think taking the existing bounding mechanics and shifting them to work outside of a battle oriented context will be less annoying for the hard core end of players who feel it is breaking their immersion in a Pokémon battle since in a contest feelings, bounds, and relationship all make perfect sense.

Narrative

Narratively I would love for the game to have more social elements and be less focused on saving the world although it could still be a factor, it be silly fun to stop the world from ending by everyone putting on the best Pokémon contest ever. I do think the stakes of just aiming to be the best Contest Master are good enough though letting the player kind of pace their own side goals.

It wouldn't hurt for a Pokémon game to have dating sim elements but if they wanted to skew the game younger then like ya know that could be cut but this is my dream game so fuck it, it has to have dating sim elements and you only be gay in it, my dream game, no straights allowed Pokémon.

Closing Thoughts

There are plenty of areas I could have went into more detail on but this is already fairly long and it was just really like a little idea I wanted to spill out of my mouth after months of thinking about it. Let me know what you think and what you would like to see in a game like this.

Mod Weeping ❤️- uhhhh idk we haven’t played Pokémon in forever TvT but favourite drink is iced coffees (especially caramel ones), honeydew milk tea with boba/bubbles, and Mexican/spicy hot chocolate mod plush 🌻 — we don't really have a set team, but our favorite pokemon are furret, girafarig, dragonite, mareep, milotic, and rhydon! our favorite drink is iced tea (bonus if its mixed with lemonade). thank you for asking! ^_^

mod wonder - my favorite drink is probably brisk raspberry iced tea. beautiful and perfect

mod morpho 🦋 — never played pokémon, but my favorite drink is hot chocolate! though if I go to a shop selling drinks, I get whatever decaf or non caffeinated seasonal / limited time drink they have

Mod Avon 📖 - Not sure on a full team, but it must have Dragonair. That’s my favorite! As for drink, I love Wildcard Sodas (what I call the mix of sodas from a fountain). My typical mix involves Wild Cherry Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Root Beer, Strawberry Mtn Dew, and Lemonade.

Mod Bugz 🐛 - I have never played pokemon before :[ I don’t know many of the actual names of Pokemon, but there are some designs I find to be very cute. I also have very different favorites; monster ultra strawberry dreams, dr pepper, chocolate milk, boba tea, unsweetened green tea and some more!

I noticed you have pokemon hybrids in your about so what would ur mewtwo look like as hybrids with other pokemon/which pokemon would they be fused mixed with respectively if they were hybrids and please give reasons as I'm curious (unless spoilers or it's just purely vibes)

This was just too fun not to doodle. I do have a hybrid Two that'll appear much much later in the story but she's a secret so you don't get to see her yet

But! For Antimony, I went with a Zoroark fusion. It was a toss up between that or absol but I eventually settled on Zoroark. Mostly cause Zoroark aren't really the most social pokemon and prefer to disguise themselves. Antimony doesn't like being seen by humans and sometimes even other pokemon

Ouroborus was an immediate Audino fusion because yes. Also because Audino is one of my favorite pokemon center helpers/healers and its a chonky lil cutie which is very Ouroborus-y(?)

Mach was pretty easy too. Machamp. Because like- Machamp gives off overly enthusiastic and wholesome gym bro vibes. Mach would absolutely be a silly gym bro if he weren't traumatized. Loves him some workouts

Riptide was kinda difficult. At first I really wanted to make them a lapras hybrid but I didn't feel like that really fit their vibe. Then I was like- Milotic? Another eh kinda feeling. I eventually settled on Vaporeon because silly water dog

I'm stumped on Cold Strike tho. No idea what I'd do with him

Some thoughts on Z-A

Pokemon X/Y has always been one of my favorite pokemon games. The introduction to the fairy type, the mega evolutions and the hole kalos region was so great.

Some things I hope for Legends Z-A: If we get new mega evolutions, the Pokémon's I wish for is: Froslass, Flygon, Milotic and the Jotho starters. Glalie got a mega back in the day, it's only fair Froslass gets one too. And both the Hoenn starters and Kanto starters got megas when Y/X came out, it's time for the Jotho starters now.

Also, I hope we can still buy and choose our own clothes. That was one of my favorite features in X/Y, it was so great like when you got to the snow area, you could actually put on a coat instead of your default summer outfit.

As for the plot, I hope it will include Zygarde and AZ, maybe we finally get to see AZ's floette evolve, maybe even do what they did in Arceus and give us Pokémon exclusive to old Kalos.

Speaking of timeline, I don't think this game will take place that far back in time, since the trailer spoke of urban development plan for Lumiose city.

But that's just my thoughts.

i like to play games, my favorites are Portal, skyrim and pokemon, i'm playing pokemon emerald on an emulator on my phone, here is my team. it took forever to catch feebas but one day i'll have milotic

i recently started to play genshin empact and i really like it, it's really beautifull and fun

i really love tinkerbell and all that fairy universe, i have a bunch of books about it, i adored this one tinkebell book when i was little and now that i have adult money i tracked and bought all the rest of the collection, the main book that precedes all the others and the movie is kinda wild, tinkerbell brakes her leg while protecting Mother Dove from a wild fox with only a knife, savage

i like invader zim a lot but i don't draw that fandom as much a is used to, i mostly just consume fanfics and comics, so yeah, if you put together my three favorite fandoms (homestuck, invader zim, tinkerbell) turns out i just really like bug people. and well bugs in general, i love bugs

i'm really good a building and crafting stuff, like they say, jack of all trades master of none, i can do a lot of stuff. i fix shit around the house a lot, i want to make pottery again, i haven't done that for a while, , i can make cold porcelain figures and carve chalk, also i like to make figurines with aluminum chocolate wrapers, I can embroider and sew, i can make wire figurines, i made two grub plushies for my Bronya cosplay las week along with making the skirt from zero with my mom's help, here are some pictures

so yeah, tho i'm mostly focused on the au this days i like to craft stuff, read fantasy and science fiction, play games and acumulate lore from diferent fandoms to make theories about them

Pokemon Crossbreeds: Scylla

Scylla is the name for members of the Hydreigon line who's fathers are members of the Milotic line. Their name comes from a sea beast in mythology, who is said to be a beautiful monster with the lower half being serpent heads. The breed is mostly found near caves on islands deep into the open sea, so it's very rare to spot one in the wild.

Deino

Scylla deino gain the lips, fine, and fluff color as Feebas. They're sturdy and are able to withstand harsh ocean environments, such as tsunamis or floods. They're also great swimmers. They keep their Deino strength, and aren't as weak as Feebas.

Zweilous

My favorite member of this breed. Scylla Zweilous gain traits of Milotic, with their mains becoming Maroon with diamond shapes and their horns becoming the shape of Milotic's eyelashes. This breed is popular for Dragon Contests, and it's said to have a "horrifying beauty" to it. They live in caves near the sea, coming out onto the beach to hunt for food.

Hydreigon

Scylla Hydreigon appear in many myths, being said to be the dangerous partners of sirens. These pokemon live deep in caves, with underwater rivers flowing through. While many people assume that their calmer because of their fathers, this breed is still incredibly violent and dangerous. Many Scylla Hydreigon were bred and evolved for shows, with many judges loving their scary but beautiful appearance.

dark types are so cool too, my personal fave that i think fits me better is zorua and zoroark, i even have a tiny zorua sitting in my graphics card!

Once he knows about pokemon anyway sdnfbzsldkjf then yes, Krow has favorites! Basically all of the bird mons (shocking I know). If he were to play pokemon, he'd catch nothing BUT bird pokemon and lovingly name each and every one of them, rotating them out of the box into his party, training them and such.

I-- I'M COOL??!! Holy shit.

As for my favorite pokemon, I fucking love, LOVE the Snivy line. I remember losing my fucking shit as a teenager when I heard there was a snake starter pokemon, and a grass type at that (I do love me grass and water types). I also really love Espeon (Sylveon has grown on me, when I think about gijinka that look like French foppish men at least)... And some others are Milotic, Mimikyu, the Chikorita line, Arbok, Tyranitar, Suicine, Lugia, Flygon, (shiny) Roselia, Kyogre, Mismagius, Yamask and Cofagrigus, Hydreigon, Deerling, Chandelure, Volcarona, Xerneas (major Forest Spirit vibes from Princess Mononoke), Primarina, and Lunala.

I stopped playing pokemon once Sword and Shield came out, mainly because I've been personally mad with the quality of the games (no shame to those that have enjoyed Sw/Sh and S/V, I just can't bring myself to play the games anymore when they're such... buggy, funky looking messes when they can more than afford to not be such).

but that's mostly because I already love milotic!! it's my number one favorite pokemon, with cresselia following closely behind (whose design I also like, but don't wanna show until she appears in the comic. I think I posted it on twitter once, but good luck digging through that if you wanna find it)

out of characters who have actually shown up, my favorite is dielle! I struggled for a while finding a good look for her, before hitting (what I think is) gold. maybe I just like fluffy cats? hehe

I do also like rune and malachi's designs, but I actually can't take credit for them! you may remember a previous ask I mentioned I was playing design telephone with those two since they were my oldest characters- and trying to get out of my head to redesign them was a tough task. so, I enlisted the help of my partner Pika to help me redesign them!

So you can thank her for Rune's cute pink heart motif, instead of looking like she rolled in dirt! She also gave her the trademark Vulpix curls back. I ended up slicking her hair back later because Rune has a lot of expressions with her eyebrows that got covered up by the hair, which made drawing her a pain.

And Malachi used to look less like a half-evolved Shinx and more like a very small Luxray:

I love this rendition of him a lot more haha, he looks like such a lil nerd! He also got his tail back in this redesign, which I quite liked. It's hard to imagine both of them with their old designs now!

As far as designs go, I also like Requiem's! Their design actually has a little bit of a backstory, funny enough. See when I was a kid, my mom was friends with a face/body painter at the local art market, and I loved getting paintings of various things I liked. One such thing was [REDACTED], my absolute favorite pokemon for SOME REASON as a kid. I would bring a reference for her (in the form of one of those pokedex books found at book fairs) and I always loved her style and thought she was an amazing artist for being able to paint full characters in mere minutes. One day I forgot to bring a reference of [REDACTED] and she went by memory- it looked a bit bootleggy, but I was absolutely enamored with the design. So soon I started "forgetting" my reference... on purpose. I loved seeing how the design for [REDACTED] developed and became something new over time. I think she was always a bit embarrassed with the inaccuracies, but my favorite one was one that made [REDACTED] look like a completely different pokemon. Like some sort of big, flowy purple dragon kangaroo creature. I think I especially loved it because it looked like a combination of [REDACTED] and [REDACTED... 2!]. That was the last time she drew [REDACTED] for me, and she retired from face/body painting shortly after to pursue other artistic interests. A lot of Requiem's design is based off of what I remember from that painting! Though without kangaroo legs, haha. I'd love to share a picture of the painting, but I'm not sure if we ever took one. Maybe I'll bug my mom to see if we can find it.

I won't be sharing the artist's name here due to internet privacy reasons, but I do have some art she made for me once! I didn't have a bedroom for many years growing up, and my mom's solution to that was a (kinda crusty) camp trailer, which her friend painted the front of with a fun ocean view. This trailer has long since fallen into disrepair (it's almost completely rotted now), but the painting still remains.

anyway this huge ramble all to say... I love character designs, and varying from the norm!
