Calling all AoR and good omens fans!

After watching season 2, I have an AU I made recently I’d like to share! (No spoils for season 2 don’t worry). So it’s basically Crowley and Azi (AU begins after season one ends), get transported to Thra by both satan and god as they’re mad Armageddon is ruined, god just got Netflix, and wanted to trap them in a fictional world where the outcome is predetermined so they can’t save anything and will be helpless but to watch everything wither. Crowley just chills and drinks but Azi is like “ThE gElFlInG,” so Crowley tries to help save them or try to prove they’re beyond saving (whichever gets Azi happy about them finally being able to be away from the shenanigans of heaven and hell).

They arrive at the castle, Crowley parties with the Skeksis while Azi goes around befriending each guard and getting to know them by name, their backstories, and their families, and decides they need to be saved. After slight bickering, Crowley agrees it’s worth a shot. So, they try to conjure up a miracle to make the Skeksis go away. But it doesn’t work. They both realize rather quickly that while they can perform small miracles, big ones aren’t possible (ie no changing the story), so they summon their car and bookshop to have a place to hunker down and find out what to do.

They both go back and forth with Crowley arguing it’s technically all fiction (he’s a dark crystal fan but has only seen the movie) so the gelfling don’t exist ergo they should relax and let it happen. Azi argues they’re creations of the humans and therefore god as god made humans in her image. Crowley spits out for Azi to prove it, when a bold Drenchen man walks in. Azi tends to him and allows him to join the conversation, though sad to inform him he can’t check out any books. The gelfling assured him it’s not a problem since he can’t read anyway. He introduces himself as prince of the swamp, and claims he was worried about them as he heard the other guards whispering bad things about them. He tells them to just ignore the other guards, that they can’t stand what’s different, and that he thinks they’re great and hoped to get to know them better. Azi is all smug and asks Crowley if it’s enough proof. So, off they go to save the gelfling.

The plan is Crowley convinces the Skeksis to give the gelfling their freedom and Azi starts a small rebellion led by gelfling (Azi wanted to lead himself but Crowley got upset bc he thought it was too dangerous so Azi obliged). But…he’s so enthusiastic about the idea that he hands out flyers and starts speaking about it out loud. Crowley convinced the Skeksis to ignore it, but the gelfling are unnerved to say the least. To the first official rebellion meeting (with crumpets and tea of course), there’s only four members. The Drenchen man from before, his StoneWood and Vapra friend, and another StoneWood looking man but with a deathly glare. Azi knew of course Gurjin, Rian, and Mira by name, but the StoneWood man he’d never met. He writes the three names down, before asking the StoneWood for his, making conversation about Rian’s name meaning in StoneWood and asking if the man’s name had any meaning. The man was starkly offended, correcting that he was Spriton and on the verge of leaving. Azi apologized to the Spriton he now knew as Tolyn.

They form a plan to get new recruits and stop the Skeksis from draining the crystal (intel they gathered via Crowley) for unum (months) after. In this time, Crowley and Azi become closer than they had in the past as they were forced to live together since the gelfling all but cast them out as they were deemed too unsafe to be in a village and the Skeksis didn’t wanna waste the resources to make another house like Azi’s bookshop. So romance between them as they grow closer, making Crowley more eager to keep the whole thing going so they don’t have to return to reality. He does this by sometimes thwarting Azi’s rebellious plans, and by making up silly bets to keep him distracted (‘Oh, bet you ten pounds I could get the Spriton and Drenchen together by the end of the unum! Oh I bet five pounds Rian is dating Mira and Ordon knows!’). Eventually, Rian messes up Azi’s plan so bad he gets hurt.

It wasn’t due to Crowley’s intervention that time, but when his angel comes to him weeping and begging for hugs and cuddles and attention, Crowley quickly finds he is sickening addicted to it. He felt bad that Ordon seemed so stressed and worried at Rian getting hurt yet…he couldn’t help but be in complete euphoria. It had been awhile since he and Azi had been forced to be so close, yet they hadn’t discussed anything about them possibly being a thing. Crowley got it into his head (probably from too much time around the Skeksis), that if he picked up the pieces enough, he could mold the way Azi saw him enough to get what he truly wanted, them being together. He decided he needed someone on the inside so he enlists Tolyn, who is very easily swayed, and they stop the rebellion. Though the rebellion still have wins, they have devastating fails, each worse than the last.

Crowley and Tolyn work great as a team, and they make sure the rebels do no real damage to the Skeksis power. Eventually, perhaps through Ordon or another channel, rebellion learns that Tolyn and Crowley were behind their failings. I don’t exactly know what happens from there, probably them being stubborn and fighting till getting back together through finding the dual glaive or something with minimal Gelfling casualties as the Skeksis become no more. After all is said and done, Azi decides they can stay in Thra and Crowley agrees, though not before they go to earth to gather a few things. They then go back to Thra, congratulating the gelfling and making Thra a better, brighter place for the thralings.

If there are ships you don’t like, feel free to ignore them I get it’s not everyone’s cup of tea and I want everyone to enjoy this! Any suggestions to make it better? What would you guys add or change? Thanks!

High School Headcannons; Part 2

• the GSA turned out to be a really good idea, because it provided a safe space for some of the youth without a support system, or with a weaker support system (ex, Kylan, Hup) • Brea is there for the first day, but only a few people show up • Onica and Tavra come, along with Gurjin and Naia • Rian hears about it through his dad, who works for Brea’s mothers company • he meets them all there, except Gurjin and Naia who met him through Mira • Hup finds the GSA next, introducing himself loudly and telling them he’s going to become a Paladin (which is an older and slightly outdated thing in this time) • Hup and Naia immediately get along well, and have a total of seven arm wrestling matches within the first hour of meeting • Deet comes next, introducing herself quietly but confidently • Rian is immediately smitten • Kylan and Rek’yr are last, and they come along on the same day • Rek’yr knows the Dousan boy Kylan punched beacuse their parents are friends with the other boys parents, and they Don’t Get Along Well at first • Kylan doesn’t share his sexuality or pronouns the first or second time he comes, but by the third time he’s just really tired and blurts it out (”So we had the lead with five points, but the other team was just about to-” “i’M GaY anD TraNS” “Oh rad”) • Brea is smooth and pan as all hell • Rek’yr is grey ace and non-binary and they’re really proud of themself, especially after they struggled with putting a name to the things they feel (they felt as though not having a label for it just,,,, wasn’t okay for them) • Gurjin is bi, with a preference for women • Naia is a MtF, and she got her wings about two months before she started attending the GSA • she also likes girls and boys. very much. she’s a romantic at heart • Rian? poly and bi? more likely than you think • Hup is queer and he will fight anyone who tries to press a more specific label on him • Deet is still trying to figure out her feelings specifically, but she has the feeling thats she’s not wholly a girl • and she knows for an almost fact that she likes girls and sometimes guys • their meeting usually consist of dad jokes (courtesy of Rian, Naia, and Brea) good music (Rek’yr) bad music (poor Kylan can play like an angel but his taste in music is horrific), snacks (Brea, Gurjin and Deet), sarcastic comments (all of them, but mostly Onica and Tavra) and laughter that’s from all of them this got off topic quick and there’s not a single mention of actual school but oh well see yall next time i guess

Future Dark Crystal AoR fanfics

Hi, in light of the recent disappointment (can’t even say it. So sad) I thought I could help by maybe giving some of my fellow fans a few things to look forward to.

Lately I’ve had a burst of gelfling-related creativity and I’ve begun many WiPs for our heros of Thra. Here’s a list of things I’m working on , a short description, mu plans for them, and where they are in progress.

One thing to note, though. As I am a sucker for a happy ending, all my fics take place in a no-gelfling-genocide au. (unless otherwise specified)

All I Ask of you: First few chapters are up here. Cannon compliant love story between Deet and Rian. The first few chapters will follow the story of the episodes with novelization and extra scenes thrown in. Once I finish the season 1 chapters, I plan on taking the story past cannon and hopefully give it a good ending. (Stonegrot)

Time not Wasted: First chapter up here. Slice of life about friends having a few drinks and having fun. Will be 2 chapters long. Chapter 1 is about Gurjin, Mira, and Rian enjoying a night off in a tavern. Chapter 2 will be about the heroes of Thra getting together after the war to share the different drinks of their clans and enjoy each other’s company. (Chapter 1: Rian x Mira, Chapter 2: stonegrot)

Trial au: A cannon divergence au in which Rian is captured at the Crystal Castle after witnessing Mira’s death. He is then put on trial for Mira’s murder in a case that draws the attention of all of Thra. Currently in the outlining stage. Will be multiple chapters. (implied future stonegrot, and maybe Gurjin x Rian x Deet OT3? we’ll see what develops).

Child Rian fic: A pre-series slice of life fic about Rian growing up in the Crystal Castle. Ordon attempts to bond with his restless, mischievous son while teaching him the lessons he’ll need to know to succeed as a Stonewood warrior. Currently in outlining stage. Originally planned as a one-shot but it’s getting long, so, it most likely will be broken down into multiple chapters.

Gelfling Pride & Prejudice: Pride & Prejudice au. Takes place in an au in which the Skeksis never came to Thra and the gelfling progressed without their influence. Stonewood Warrior, Rian, and Master herbologist, Deet, meet at a ball and fall in love. They seem incandescently happy together until Rian unexpectedly leaves her without an explanation. Brea, Deet’s best friend, must help mend her friend’s broken heart and get to the bottom of what happened. Also, she must figure out why Rian’s dour friend, Rek’yr, won’t stop staring at her. (In case you couldn’t guess, Deet & Rian = Jane & Bingley, Brea & Rek’yr = Lizzie & Darcy). Currently in the Outlining stage. Will be multiple chapters. (Stongrot, Brea x Rek’yr, and a splash of Tavra X Onica).

This is all I’ve got for now. Unfortunately, I don’t have a timetable as to when each will be out, but I am determined to turn these WiPs into finished fics. I know I’m not a particularly popular writer in the fandom, but I hope I can give you something you’ll enjoy.

1. Jen and Kira. The OG OTP. The original soulmates. The BANE OF MY EXISTENCE.

2. Rian and Mira. We got to see what Rian is really like. We got to see a playful, happy Rian and we were ROBBED. ROBBED!!! Mira was so cute and she and Rian were so happy,,, I want more.

3. Kylan and Rian. OKAY THIS ISNT CANON but since I am Kylan x Rian trash, here we are. I love their dynamic. I love the fact that Kylan made up a song ON THE SPOT for Rian to help him grieve. I love the little screen time they share together in the show and sdkfjs I just love them okay they’re canon in my book. let me live in peace.

12. Three favorite platonic/friendship ships?

The first: Kylan and Naia. I love their bond/dynamic so much and it’s PURELY platonic. There’s no evidence (that I know of) that Kylan has a crush on Naia at all and that’s what true friendship is made of folks. There’s no underlying wanting, no wanting something more. They are friends and that’s it. and we know kylan has a thing for vaprans so we see u kylan. we see u

Second: Kylan and Amri. Kylan is so SWEET and accommodates Amri when no one else does. He suggests they travel at night when Amri can see properly since the light hurts his eyes. He comforts him when he’s unsure of himself when he’s learning about the daylighter world. idk Kylan is so sweet and precious and we all need a friend like him.

And third: Deet and Hup! Who says language is a barrier? I love the fact that Deet and Hup became friends despite Deet not being able to understand Hup’s language. Hup knows basic Gelfling, but Deet knows 0 Podling. I think that’s very wholesome and sweet, considering... it’s Deet. She’s the embodiment of wholesome and sweet.

14. Three favorite theories or headcanons?

I’ll give you guys a little bit of my personal headcanons here since I RP Jen on my RP blog which you should totally follow for precious Jen content. Anyway!!

The first one: Kylan is Jen’s father! I have my post here on why I think this is.

The second: The song we hear Jen playing at the beginning of the movie is Kylan’s swan song p much. One of my RP partners and I constructed a theory/HC that Kylan kept the Garthim at bay with his firca so the mystics could rescue Jen with this song, since the firca could immobilize arathim. Kylan used his last breaths to make sure Jen was safe. Jen remembers this song and plays it often.

The third: I saw some theory floating around saying that Jen is actually Rian’s little brother, Timtri. I don’t follow this theory bc it contradicts my Kylan being Jen’s father theory but it is interesting!

18. Most misunderstood character? Most overrated?

You know what. I’m gonna say it. Tolyn is so misunderstood... He was just trying to stay loyal no matter the cost. He was trying to be a good soldier. A good castle guard. He was doing his job!! And if you read this far you’ll know I’m kidding, fuck that guy.

As far as most overrated? idk I think the Skeksis as a whole. And I say this because almost every single piece of merch I’ve seen has the Skeksis on it like they’re the main characters. Give me some Gelfling merch! (Kylan merch plz thanks)

22. What adjective would Aughra call you (example: loyal Seladon)?

Ummm probably “Just Allison” like how she didn’t give Gurjin a title.

27. If you were a Gelfling, what would be your ideal occupation?

I’d probably be a crafter of some sort. Making trinkets and things to sell or something.

Gurjin x Kylan headcanons

(Requested via message; I hope this is what you were looking for!)(The SkekMal headcanons are up next dont worry)

- It all started when Gurjin was able to get a good long look at the Kylan while the group was sitting at a campfire. He just sort of absentmindedly thought ‘well he’s a handsome lad’, not thinking anything of it before he became increasingly aware of his growing crush on the Spriton boy. It only takes like two days for him to completely fall in love; it’s almost funny considering he wasn’t really aware of his presence before then.

- It’s pretty hard not to notice Gurjin considering he’s like a head taller then everyone else so Kylan was always aware of his presence in the group. Not long after their first meeting Kylan begins to notice his eyes impulsively drifting over to the boy and his heart growing faster whenever he was around and realizes that he has a crush on him. There’s much more of a build up whenever Kylan is falling for someone, his feelings develop over a much longer period of time.

- Kylan has to gulp and avert his eyes whenever he sees Gurjin training. It doesn’t ever outwardly look like he’s flustered but believe me he is.

- Gurjin is definitely the one who courts Kylan; he’s much more bold and Kylans far too shy and reserved to do so himself.

- Gurjins the stupid jock boyfriend and Kylan’s the band nerd.

- Gurjin just loves listening to Kylan sing or play his firca. He gets this adorable dreamy look on his face and sighs wistfully whenever he listens.

- Kylan has to stand on his tippy toes to kiss Gurjin and it’s the cutest thing Gurjin has ever seen even though he’ll tease the Spriton about it.

- Gurjin always kisses Kylans forehead or the top of his head when he’s in a rush because it’s the part of him he can reach the easiest.

- Gurjin has tried to teach Kylan how to use a sword but Kylan always loses focus because he’s too distracted by the way the Drenchen boy is moving.

- Kylan always has some food cooked/saved for Gurjin when he’s finished training.

- They would keep it a secret for a while but only because Gurjin tore Rian apart for being so soft with Mira and he’s not prepared to face the merciless teasing Rian will give him when he sees the way Gurjins looks at Kylan with the added knowledge that they are together.

- Only Deet knows about their relationship for a long time and that’s because she’s got an advanced gaydar that can sense this type of thing from miles away. Plus she’s like a seer for gay relationships, she can always tell whose gonna get together with who. She just. Always. Knows.

- Kylan always fondly yet exasperatedly takes care of Gurjin whenever he has too much ale. (Usually after trying to outdrink someone; usually Rian who ends up equally as intoxicated)

- Gurjin likes playing with Kylans hair since his has pretty much always been in dreads. He admires how effortlessly soft and silky it is. Kylan always chuckles and asks ‘isn’t your hair more interesting then mine?’.

- Gurjin always stays by Kylan whenever they’re traveling to ensure he’s okay and protected at all times. He’s sure the boy could protect himself if worse comes to worse but he always feels better having him in his sights.

- Both of them like to lay together and gaze up at the stars talking about the tales of thra and what the future holds.

- Constant hugs, it’s one of Gurjins favorite things to do. Under that tough Skeksis guard demeanor he’s just a big softie with a heart of gold.

- Intimate and love filled gazes towards each other.

- Both of them always do what they believe is right no matter what which can of course lead to some arguments but they’re easily resolved once the better decision is made clear. Neither of them are ever afraid to apologize either.

- When Naia finds out about their relationship she probably threatens Gurjin instead of Kylan because as much as she loves her brother she also knows Kylan is an innocent angel incapable of hurting anyone or accurately swinging a sword 90% of the time.

- Both of them are complete ride or dies who love each other dearly so their relationship is definitely going to last a long time.
