Beyond The Timelines 5: Meeting The Variants

Loki reunites with his old friends from the void, meets some new ones…and hears of a possible new enemy.

(Warnings: Spoilers for Loki comics and a mild mention of alcohol)

“…we’re gonna need more Lokis.”

Loki nodded, he did plan on having Classic Loki help him, that was why he was here…but if Classic was no longer around…well, he couldn’t bare the thought. As they got off the hill and headed to the flat lands, Loki got excited. More people. More people who are willing to help. He still wasn’t too sure on if he could trust the beaten up variant, but he was willing to try. Loki was willing to work along side the other God of Stories. Anything for Mobius.

Iokl chuckled softly as he lead Loki to a massive replica of Asgard, but this one was shinier and filled with life as multiple Loki variants walked around and interact with each other. Everything was extremely peaceful with the accretion of a few arguments and all around trickery and roughhousing that you’d expect from Lokis. Once Boastful and President Loki recognized Loki, they ran over and wrapped their arms around his neck like they were all drinking buddies and didn’t try to kill anyone when they first met. This confused Loki until Iokl explained that when he was dropped at the Void, Iokl used his magic to create palaces and farms out of boredom but those places were instantly taken over by the other variants. Expectantly, Iokl overthrew President Loki and set up peace.

Loki was extremely surprised as he saw everyone interact. It felt like a fever dream.

“So…th-this is…”

“It feels like Valhalla, right?”

The voice sounded so familiar to Loki as he turned around…and saw a bandaged up Classic Loki wrapped up in bandages. He wore a simple white sling that held his casted arm that was written all over it. The old god was surrounded by small variants of Loki, including two Kind Lokis, one holding Gator Loki and the other seemed much much younger, seemingly only five, a Frost Giant kid, and small fairy that flew above his shoulder. The kids around him seemed extremely attached to his hip as the fairy zipped around, his natural green horns being the only sign that he was a Loki.

“Classic…”

“Hello, old friend.”

The two gently embraced as Loki tried to be gentle with the old man’s sling.

“How are you still…”

Classic Loki gestured to a much older, frail man.

“Original Loki brought me back…but not without a few broken bones…”

“I-I’m so glad you’re ok, but th-there’s an issue.”

The variants around him quickly dropped whatever they were doing and turned to Loki.

“What happened?”

“Thanos…Thanos…took Mobius.”

The sound of glass shattering echoed through the halls as many variants that heard what happened froze in shock. OG Loki hummed softly as he slowly stepped forward. He placed a hand on Loki’s shoulder as he hummed.

“I haven’t heard that name…in eons…”

Loki looked up at the old man, his armor looking similar to Classic’s minus the cape, his belt a clear shiny gold that contrasted his extremely wrinkly face. If this man wasn’t an immortal god, Loki was pretty sure that he would’ve been six feet underground in a coffin. The old god smiled softly as he looked down at Loki like he was a grandkid.

“You’re gonna need an army…”

“THAT’S WHAT I SAID!!!”

OG Loki ignored Iokl as he glanced over at the crowd.

“We’re gonna need some of the strongest variants.”

“Who?”

“Well…Necrogod Loki could help…Iokl would definitely help…Classic could also help…if he was ok with it.”

Iokl and Classic nodded as they smiled as a puddle of black goo formed between the two as Necrogod Loki appeared.

“I heard that you’re trying to save a boyfriend?”

“M-Mobius is not my boyfriend. I’m not interested in him.”

The variants all laughed as the fairy variant led the youngsters away so that the adults could talk.

“No Loki goes all out with an army unless they really care about them…so unless he’s family…”

“No. Just friends.”

Iokl smirked but kept quiet.

“Alright, alright…a friend.”

The Necrogod smiled as he stayed around as OG continued with what he was talking about.

“Now…who else? Oh! Ultimate Loki could he-“

“Uh, sir!!”

OG Loki turned around to face a Loki wearing a soccer shirt.

“Ultimate Loki is uh…out of commission.”

“Is he sick?”

“No, just busy.”

“Well, there’s also King Loki…”

“Also out of commission, sir!”

OG growled softly as he rubbed his forehead.

“Damnit…Sorcerer Supreme?”

“Also out of commission.”

“OH WHAT FOR?!”

“Someone put heavy rum in the punch last night.”

OG shouted out in anger as he rubbed his forehead, complaining about being too old for this as he cleared his throat.

“Ok…ok…how about Prime?”

“A-also busy sir..”

“I WILL RIP YOUR KIDNEYS OUT OF YOU FROM YOUR ESOPHAGUS!!!”

This made everyone freeze and remain silent as OG collected himself and muttered apologies.

“I’ll find someone else to help you…for the meantime, feel free to stay with us.”

And with that, OG Loki stormed off as much as he could while trying not to strangle people or fall over.

“…how can you rip someone’s kidneys out from their esophagus?” One of the children asked as Loki was lead into the palace and given a room.

“I-I don’t have much time, if Thanos has Mobius then..”

“Don’t worry, we’ll find Thanos and your friend soon. Do you know where he could’ve taken them?”

Iokl teleported next to the two as they walked with them, Loki seemingly startled by their sudden appearance while OG remained unphased. OG simply nodded at Iokl as they brought Loki to a lavish green bedroom.

“You can stay here as long as you like. Once you’re ready, look for Classic. He’ll bring you to the war room…and steer clear from King Loki.”

“Who is…King Loki?”

“Ohhh…I hate it when you bring him up!” Iokl whined as they crossed their arms.

“King Old is the worst of us. He lies, cheats, kills, and manipulates everything and everyone who gets in his way.”

“So…a Loki?”

“Yes, but he’ll even kill us if he needed or wanted to.”

Loki began to slowly process everything as he rubbed his forehead.

“So…would he ever…work with Thanos?”

“I…I’m not sure.”

Iokl began to think as he rubbed his chin.

“Doesn’t sound like him…”

“But he did Kill Odin and Laufey…”

“True true…”

Loki continued to process everything as he sat down on the plush bed.

“I-I need a moment…”

The two nodded and left the room, letting Loki have his space as he laid on the bed and fell asleep, dreaming of Mobius.

thoughts on loki episode five: journey into mystery

okay, Journey Into Mystery is a reference to a comics series, right?

Renslayer what are you doing what do you want?

Miss Minutes what are you doing what do you want are you sentient what is happening?

TVA Loki just being the embodiment of "WTF" was great because, honestly? look at what's happened. he was pruned, but he's not dead, but there's a kid, an old guy, and another guy claiming to be him, there's a random alligator with his horns, he was told they have to move before he dies, and it just overall makes no sense. i love how TVA Loki said he just didn't even question the alligator because of how crazy everything is. and now he just is accepting the fact that he is an alligator in another universe and refusing to question it because that is too much.

Sylvie self pruning herself to get to Loki aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Sylvie said there was one happy memory she had. was that supposed to reference the moment she had with Loki. if so, that is like huge set up for romantic stuff.

speaking about sylki, i really didn't like the idea of Loki having a love interest a month ago. really. but now i can't help but ship him & Loki. it's not my favorite ship (FitzSimmons exists) and there are flaws i feel like, but i still really like it.

Sylvie running into Mobius yay! & they get along pretty well it seems, so that's good.

THROG & THANOSCOPTER

Boastful Loki gives me Thor vibes?

Kid Loki, poor kid, killed Thor, i don't think it was intentional. poor guy.

Classic Loki, i love him. AND WE ALL HAD THEORIES THAT LOKI IS ALIVE IN THE SAME WAY CLASSIC LOKI IS AND AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

Classic Loki being all like "bros just use your magic it works better" and Boastful Loki saying "yeah but knives look cool." bruh. i love it.

okay, i dont think the TVA was being honest with the Lokis, i think it is possible main Loki lived out his life in isolation and that is so sad.

the TVA (& whoever is running it) i think has a thing against Lokis because they're a threat (KANG KANG KANG) (sorry i really want Kang but if it's not Kang i won't freak out). Classic Loki being pruned for not wanting to be alone adds to this. Mobius could've done any memory for the Time Cell, and he chose the one where Sif says he'll be alone. they're all outcasts. they don't want Loki to have self esteem or to be happy or to have friends.

TVA Loki is so set on returning to the TVA to help Sylvie, i love it (much sylki vibes).

the way all the Lokis laughed bc TVA Loki sounded ridiculous, trying to fight Aliath. i wonder how many Lokis have tried and failed?

TVA Loki trying to leave just to run into President Loki, saying this was all a nightmare, i love it. & i love President Loki being the only Hiddleston Loki other than main Loki & TVA Loki (& i guess Classic Loki in the past).

there were like...3 betrayals in two minutes? very chaotic, much Loki, don't put too many Lokis in the same room.

the way Kid Loki carries Gator Loki...i love it your honor.

Kid Loki saying something about how Lokis are broken but whenever they try to change the TVA stops them. he's spilling facts.

Kid, Classic, and Gator Lokis deciding to help TVA Loki get to Aliath, it was great.

also the way TVA Loki talks about Sylvie, i love it.

oh, also, Aliath in the comics protects Kang's kingdom...so...y'know...Kang please?

Mobius driving straight to TVA Loki, Sylvie jumping out, TVA Loki running to her. i love it.

enchanting Aliath was a pretty smart way of doing things it felt like.

ok this is random but Gator Loki is amazing i love him he gets so many good shots.

also back to President Loki, he got his hand bitten off, and the MCU cuts off limbs as a reference to Star Wars. but i think there are more cut off limbs (or more people with limbs cut off) in the MCU now (because since stupid Disney got Lucasfilm there's been no loss of limbs & i am still mad about it).

Loki now has two on screen hugs (Loki & Frigga in Thor (2011), Loki & Mobius in Loki (2021)). plus he had an off screen hug with Thor in Thor: Ragnarok (2017), i'm sure of it.

ok back to TVA Loki, Sylvie, and Aliath. TVA Loki doing what he can to distract Aliath, but it not being enough, and the panic he had on his face, it was beautiful.

oh my gosh Classic Loki came back i love him.

TVA Loki told Sylvie they're more powerful than they realize when they saw Classic Loki's projection of Asgard. and then TVA Loki was able to enchant Aliath. do Lokis have a natural affinity for sorcery, it's just some do more with it or different types than others?

also, nexus being set up? in WandaVisoin, Wanda learned how to do the runes thing almost immediately. that might be part of a nexus being's powers, the ability to just be really good beginners at magic. so maybe the Lokis are nexus beings? or maybe not quite nexus beings but close?

no, Classic Loki! other than Gator Loki you were my new favorite Loki! and you died! (or maybe not since his superpower is not dying).

TVA Loki and Sylvie walking hand in hand to the end of time to fight Kang or whoever, why do they have to be so cute?

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa no post credit scene

ok i don't want to redo Mephisto but we've got more hints almost for Kang than we did Mephisto.

plus after "Agatha All Along" for me it was obvious they wouldn't have Mephisto as the big bad. maybe in a post credit scene, but they literally had a song about Agatha being the villain. they weren't going to introduce a new one. we don't know who the villain for this is. & i feel like Kang is a good guess and i would love to see Kang in Loki. but he's the villain of Quantumania so idk how they'll make it work.

Episode 5 Thoughts-

-Definitely an improvement over last week.

-Alligator Loki supremacy! Though I’m guessing we’re never going to get his backstory. No one questions the Alligator 🐊. Just let him run everything. He is an overly sensitive soul who likes wine and eating the hands of troublesome variants of himself. And he rolled his eyes! I almost fell over laughing.

-We haven’t seen “Glorious Loki” and/or “King Loki” yet. Unless they cut him from the show, I say he could be the one running the TVA. Loki and Sylvie triggered the nexus event that could destroy the TVA because they came to care for one another. If Glorious Loki is running things, it’s at least partially based on his hatred of other Lokis and wanting to keep them losing and unhappy. We see that unfortunately too often Lokis hate each other and try to betray each other (or eat each other’s hands).

-If GL is running things he needs to die. You can’t hold the whole universe hostage.

-Supposedly the end of time is still being written. GL or whoever is running it is probably trying out different timelines to find the perfect one. Or the shots of Loki as king could be from a timeline where he “wins” after the TVA is brought down.

-Gator Loki attacking people. 😆

-Classic Loki can communicate with Gator Loki. ❤️

-We got the Loki brawl! Well-a Loki brawl, though not with just Lokis. More Lokis, more brawling please!

-“This is a nightmare.” Our Loki is just so done with his variants. 😆

-The episodes are so short-even if they’re going to give us a season 2, I wish we’d get more of everything. This whole purgatory world with different versions of people and timelines is an intriguing idea that has a lot of potential; but we barely get to spend any time in it. Would’ve preferred 2 episodes like this instead of last week’s episode.

-Potentially zillions of versions of every character we’ve ever known!

-Mobius is a talented driver! Comes from a lifetime of driving Jetskis.

-Why was Sylvie arrested?!

-I loved all the bantering between the Lokis. “Why do you get to wear the horns!”

-Kid Loki gave Loki Lævateinn!

-Why did they have to get rid of Classic Loki so quickly?! He’s awesome!

-Finally, some magic!

-No I don’t think they’re ever actually going to do a Sylki kiss. I predicted from the beginning that they’re going to try to have their cake and eat it too. In other words, they’re going to flirt around with the concept of Sylki, talk about it in interviews, and show them being affectionate. But they will never quite get fully physical to try to moderate the backlash.

-Classic Loki’s costume sucks because he was alone on a planet and had to improvise.

-Why/how did Kid Loki kill Thor? Wish he’d killed Odin.

-”Every time we do better we get pruned”. Ugh.

-Poor Frog Thor! He should probably stay out of sight though or Gator Loki will eat him.

-Gator Loki ate the wrong neighbor’s cat 😁

-So how did old Loki manage to survive to old age-wouldn’t the TVA have gotten him as soon as he failed to be killed? Unless……Tom once said the show will answer two main questions- whether Loki is really dead, and where he went after Endgame. I am wondering if in the real prime timeline Loki is alive and just laying low. He had fulfilled his purpose and was supposed to die alone. The TVA didn’t get him until he started to want to find people again.

-I love how they poked fun at Loki’s death in Infinity War.

-Where are the other Loki variants? I get that it’s a big place because that’s where all the pruned timelines go, but still, it’s not like they can’t afford the special effects for Jotun Loki and Hulk Loki.

-I’m confused as to exactly what Boastful Loki was after? I mean it seems like there were only four of them living in that place. He really did all that for a chair that has an L on it to rule over three other Lokis? Because it seems like President Loki had never met any of the others besides Boastful Loki before. It’s very confusing.

-If Lokis are gender fluid why were they so surprised there was a female version of them?

-President Loki! Tom was having so much fun I bet you he enjoyed that

-So it seems like the Tom Hiddleston looking male presenting Loki is the default? Was Hammer Loki born black, or did he shape shift into that form and decide to stay like that? Seems like Loki can change his DNA at will.

-Glad to see Sylvie talk to Mobius about the shit the TVA did and him apologizing to her. Would’ve been nice to see him do that to Loki 1130 as well.

-Seems the TVA instilled an “End justifies the means” mentality in its workers. Excited to see them free themselves.

-Loki and Sylvie talking about how Mobius is a grey character just like them. Everyone in this series is a grey character. Except for Casey. He’s perfect.

-Free B-15!

-I want to know what happens to Casey.

-Burn it all down Mobius! Someone get the man a jetski. Loki was the spark.

Just watched the newest episode of Loki. So spoilers ahead. And it is all going to sound like rambles and I am too lazy to provide pictures for references.

There is a FROG THOR trying to get the big ass hammer.

Also did anyone else see the lunch trays? I think the TVA prunes them instead of cleaning up.

When Gator!Loki chomped President Loki's hand off, all I thought was 'CAPTAIN HOOK!!!'.

My friend later pointed out that Tom Hiddleston voiced Captain Hook in that Tinkerbell Pirate Movie.

She also said that Mobius driving a car was a reference to Lightning McQueen. This needs more solid evidence.

I know that Lokius hug was a big moment but I couldn't take it seriously because Mobius just had said, "See you later, Loki." And there was an alligator Loki RIGHT THERE.

And I thought 'is there a pun in there?'

I don't- it hits different for me.

I should say sorry for saying old Loki was a coward when he told his backstory about using his magic to fake his death and hide away on a planet. Kudos for trying to reconcile with Thor.

I got attached to him in the end and nearly cried when he made himself the distraction and get eaten by Alioth. The 'Glorious Purpose' line that hit me where it hurts.

Loki Episode 5 Response Pt. 2 - The Positive

On to the positive post! I really did enjoy this episode overall, so here’s the stuff I liked/loved:

Hair flip! Only one this time (I believe?), and from a distance (it's when he first stands up in the Void) but glad to see we're keeping with the pattern.

I LOVED Classic Loki and Kid Loki! I had more or less zero expectations regarding them - didn't expect to like them or dislike them - so I was pleasantly surprised to have pretty strong positive feelings for both of them! Both had emotional stories and Classic Loki's sacrifice at the end was really well done. It was interesting how even though he was dressed so ridiculously, I almost found myself forgetting about that? Or at least not really noticing, because the character was so good and the narrative never used the outfit for comedy. I also have a lot of feelings about Kid Loki and Classic Loki's dynamic, thanks to this meta.

And obviously Gator Loki is glorious and I stan him for all eternity.

I have...a lot of feels about Loki calling the other Lokis monsters. Can I articulate said feels? Not really, but just know I have a LOT of them. I also just like his face in this shot - very lost, very sad, (very good lighting), 10/10.

MOBIUS YESSSSS. Loved him showing up in the car, and - "You should be careful jumping into a stranger's car like that" - lmao he is such a DAD

I know the TVA is obviously being framed as the bad guys now, but I appreciate the continued verbal acknowledgement with what Sylvie said about annihilating realities and orphaning little girls, and Mobuis' apology to her. And also, his statement about thinking the ends justified the means - even from episode one, Mobius stuck me as someone who was brainwashed and stuck in an ends-justify-the-means mentality/echo chamber, and who would do the right thing once he got out of it (which is why I found myself liking him even at the beginning, despite some of his actions early in the series) so it was nice to have that confirmed. And this just now occurred to me, but I'm wondering if my sympathy for Mobius early on has something to do with my conservative Christian upbringing and eventual complete belief change, and maybe I relate to Mobius on some level? I wasn't part of a cult like the TVA, and it was stuff like homophobia instead of murder, but still...huh, I might have to think more on that one lol.

I'm actually feeling moderately ok with the romance - better about it than last episode, for sure. I'd still much, much rather it be platonic...but they're just so cute, is the thing. Whether in a romantic or platonic context, I'm always a sucker for the trope of two emotionally closed off characters being soft with each other. And they're both just so awkward but really sweet at the same time, and neither of them are very skilled at this friend thing but they're really trying, and it's cute. I was terrified they were going to kiss (as many of us were lol) but the story really didn't go too hard on the romance this episode - it caught me off guard in episode 4 and seemed so out of the blue and sudden, but now they’ve slowed it down and just kind of focused on the general bond between the two (with some romantic undertones as well, though I think even those could potentially be read as platonic). So yeah it still depends on how they handle a next episode, but at this point I'm pretty ok with it, and it's starting to feel slightly more earned. Do I wish all that awkwardness and cuteness was centered around being friends instead of potential romantic partners? Hell yes I do. But the two of them are still cute together regardless of whether it's romantic or platonic - and I guess it is actually centered around friendship either way, because the romance is at least starting with a friendship foundation? Even if they do go full romance with it (likely) they're at least also friends - and that's something a lot of couples lack so that's definitely refreshing. So I guess my tl;dr on the romance is: I wish Loki's heart-eyes were platonic heart-eyes but either way the heart-eyes are pretty damn adorable.

LOKI WITH A BLANKET. Listen, do you - do you know - do you have any idea - how long and how desperately I've wanted to see Loki wrapped up in a blanket? A thing I once thought would only ever be in fanfic?? Yet here it is, right before my eyes, on my very own screen???? I'll never be over it. I cannot stand how cute he is. LOOK.

Although I must say, I am with Sylvie here - Loki should up his blanket-conjuring game just a little and conjure something fluffier next time. (Also @thelightofthingshopedfor posted some good meta on it being green.)

I loved the “burn it [the TVA] to the ground” and “thanks for the spark” lines. AND THE HUG!!! Talk about things I've been wanting to see for a very, very long time. Loki tearing up was great, always love that, and just...yeah. No words, only feels.

I liked that Loki was taking charge more in this episode and actually had a plan. While I didn't love that Sylvie ended up having the better plan, Loki definitely had more of a purpose in this episode than in the others. Besides, it was really beautiful at the end when they enchanted Alioth together (I’m proud!!), and it's possible Slyvie saying "we're the same" was meant to contradict Loki's line near the beginning about how Sylvie's different than all the other Loki's? I couldn't tell if that was intentional or not, but I think it was?

Anyway, I loved this episode overall! In a lot of ways I liked the tone and comedic moments better, I am extremely proud of my son, and I’m excited/terrified for the final episode.

Ranking Loki variants because I have nothing better to do than think about this at work apparently:

0. President Loki

1. Sylvie. For an all round performance she just wins hands down. Starts off evil and mysterious but doesn't lose much if any of that competence throughout the series even at the end. She has a plan and actually pulls off large swathes of it. I love her interactions with pretty much every other character and even comes out of the unmentionable scenes much more likeable by virtue of not losing her entire personality as a result of them. She IS a Loki and embodies most of the best traits of what that entails.

2. Episode 2 and maybe a bit of 3 Loki. He's not the Loki we grew to love in the main timeline but you can kinda see that Loki underneath if you squint. I think Sylvie still outshines him in many of their scenes but overall he was genuinely endearing and I was kinda feeling the direction his character was going at this point in time.

3. Classic Loki. He's so powerful! All he did wrong was miss his brother a little too much! Love the way he's old and cynical but has very legitimate reasons to be so. Cannot stress enough that him summoning Asgard was one of the coolest things in the MCU.

4. Gator Loki. He would be higher if not for the fact we never got a magical display of alligator power. He might not even he a Loki which is hilarious in its own right but if he is I absolutely love how committed he is to his form.

5. Kid Loki. Didn't get to do very much but points for intimidating all the rest of them by doing one of the only things they never would. Would love to see how his life played out. (But that could be said for all of them)

6. Boastful (?) Loki. Also didn't get to do very much except the inevitable betrayal. Kind of stupid he didn't see the counter betrayal coming considering he's a Loki and that was one of the most obvious betrayals imaginable.

7. The Lokis in President Loki's army. They had even less reason to go for the betrayal after things seemed to be working fine for them up until that point? Also literally hello what is wrong with you is it just jealousy because he's the hottest Loki

8. Frost Giant Loki. I know nothing else about him but he should have been allowed to be blue and I support that

9. Sports Player Loki? Gonna be honest there's few things I am less interested in than sports but I support this career change too if that's what he truly wants

10. That other variant? I don't even remember what he looked like or anything about him at ALL but I bet he had a personality

11. Mobius??? Low on the list because he's not even a Loki but I mean he's awesome so that surely puts him higher than last place

∞. The actual main character Loki they were trying to sell us. Irredeemable by virtue of being a Loki and shitting all over a character I care about a great deal. Okay, technically redeemable with the right misinterpretion of the canon, but there's few things I have enjoyed less than watching him consistently make a fool of himself every time Sylvie breathed in his general direction. Even if I wasn't so personally offended it's simply BORING to make one of your leads that irrelevant to the movement of the plot.

Just Some Observations on Lokies Journey Into Mystery.

I feel like if they bring Kid Loki out of the void to be apart of the Young Avengers line up that he would definitely bring Gator Loki with him.

I love how the other Loki’s are kind of intimidated by Slyvie to the point they quickly abandoned Loki’s plan.

Since Sylivie Asgard was deleted from existence then that means Her Asgard and her People would have been sent to the Void to die/be imprisoned if they do survived. Wonder if any Asgardians survived Althioth?

So yeah I’m disappointed that we didn’t get to see any ruins of Asgard while we were in the Void. In Less the ruins of Asgard have been taken over by Loki’s? It would be kind of cool not gonna lie.

Sometimes a family isn’t just a mom, dad and a couple of kids. Sometimes a family is a Loki, A Slyvie, a Grandpa/Classic Loki, a kid Loki and his pet Gator Loki and their Mobius.

Soooo….some one just happen to leave the keys in the pizza car??? Or that it actually still runs after being stuck in the void for how long now?

Also…how is Frog Thor still alive? He’s stuck in a jar buried in the dirt? He should have either suffocated or starved by now? Also I’m pretty sure Kid Loki found him and buried him.

Yellow giant went big instead of small so got sent to the void to be eaten!

If Thanos copter is there that means there’s a good chance Thanos got eaten.

Also what is that Gizmo Kid Loki is carrying? Did he invent it? Did he find it? Do you think he watch Classic Loki sacrifice himself for the other two? Or do you think he turn to look for him and saw he was gone and assumed Classic Loki abandoned him?

Now that Grandpa Loki is gone who’s gonna take care of Kid Loki and his Gator? Do you think he misses his mother?

Not gonna lie Classic Loki re-edition of Asagard is cooler looking the actual Asgard.

So…if the Dagger basically is a crutch that with holds Loki from realizing their full magical potential…does that mean Odin realized immediately that Loki would grow to be even more powerful then him or Thor so basically forced them to use the Dagger and basically make them think the dagger is their most valuable tool to insure that they never reach their full magical potential?

Does that mean it’s possible we have a Loki Variant that said screw the dagger I’m gonna focus on my magic?

Also Loki is channeling his James Conrad.

So the TVA basically insures the “Good Guys” always win? Which means any conflict we see in past Marvel movies where a bad guy may win is void of true suspense because even if they do win the TVA will just come in arrest the bad guy and reset the time line to insure the good guy wins - even if it means they have to reset the time line over and over again?

How many bad guys from the same time line got arrested because the hero was bad at winning? How many times do you think Roan got pruned before he “fell” for Quills dancing trick?

So in the Void…do you not age while living within the Void? Or do Asgardians age that slowly that one could be stuck as a kid for for 100 or so years before actually aging up?

Imagine being stuck as a 5 year old for 100-1000 before hitting 6 and going through another long ass years before hitting seven. Would imagine that would make celebrating birthdays a bit tricky.

I wonder if any TVA agents are Asgardians?

list of variants/timelines i want to believe exist (and probably canonically do now)

this got long so i'm putting in a cut

a world where all of the events that happened in the Framework are real

bonus if the Framework world has their own version of the Framework that is like the real world in aos

Steve fell off the train, not Bucky. bc of the crap Zola did to Bucky, he survives in ice and well, and everything happens the same but Steve and Bucky's roles are reversed

Coulson doesn't bother to keep it a secret that he's alive, and the mcu is mainly just aos but with all the main characters as well (in other words, there's mainly good writing)

also in that world Steve and Bucky love Lola

Steve doesn't go back in time to live with Peggy

to all the people claiming aos isn't canon: Sylvie just made everything canon y'all. aos absolutely happened, and while i will argue that it happened in the main timeline, if you don't want to believe that it still happened in a timeline

Bucky didn't remember Steve soon enough, not until he killed Steve

Steve killed the Winter Soldier and didn't know who it was until he removed the mask

Hydra didn't hunt down Jiaying and by extent Daisy, so Daisy was raised by Jiaying and Cal who are not crazy bc they didn't have the same experiences they did in the main timeline

Thor never takes the others to Jotunheim, so Loki never learns he is Jotun

Fitz didn't survive almost drowning

Ward wasn't recruited by Garrett, but by literally any non-Hydra agent so he is a good guy

Coulson and May listened to the agent telling them to not send May in at Bahrain, heaven knows what happens there

the government gives the Avengers more than a week to go through the Accords, so they all get to the enhanced-people-have-to-wear-trackers, giant-underwater-prison, enhanced-operatives-can't-investigate-politicians, no-trial-for-enhanced, no-investigation-for-enhanced, etc sections so they all decide to not sign and just don't care what the government says

this is random, but i feel like Bucky as Ghost Rider would be a cool aesthetic.

the Avengers meet Robbie bc he keeps assassinating their targets bc they're targets of Ghost Rider's

Daisy dies instead of Lincoln

Daisy kills Lash before he can save her

Loki never "dies," so he is sent back to Asgardian prison after tdw

Radcliffe never reads the Darkhold, he just gave it to AIDA, so most of s4 doesn't happen

Dreykov comes after Natasha between Avengers and CACW, leading to the Avengers beating his *ss (like Yelena said, the god from space doesn't need an ibuprofen after a fight)

everything's the same but no Joss Whedon going on and on about Natasha not being able to have kids

whatever ship scenario you have is canon now

Loki gets all panicky after the Hulk beats him to a pulp, having now realized what he's done. Thor believes him, and this leads to Thanos being killed in 2012-13

Deadpool sits in the back of everything, shouting comments like "Yay! Superhero landing! But don't do that, it's bad for your knees!"

Peter Parker's parents never die

the Cavalry is an Avenger

Yondu brings Peter Quill to Ego, causing the universe's destruction

Gamora and Nebula get along their entire lives

Gamora and Nebula switch roles (Gamora becomes the cyborg, Nebula the guardian and Thanos's favorite daughter)

Heimdall actually bothers to look for Loki, seeing if they can find his body for a funeral, to find that he is being tortured by Thanos. Odin refuses to send anyone to save him, making Thor realize just how awful he is. Thor, Sif, and Warriors 3 go with the help of Heimdall to save Loki

Odin and Frigga are actually good parents, creating the most iconic trio ever

Bucky commits suicide between TWS and CACW (Sebastian said in an interview once that Bucky was suicidal)

Loki keeps coming back as DB Cooper for fun or bc he keeps losing bets

this one thing i made about Mr Rogers adopting Loki

Robbie is part of the Avengers in 2012, but when he sees Loki he immediately says that Loki isn't the issue and goes off to fight Thanos single handedly (and wins)

for whatever reason Coulson and May do legally adopt all the Bus Kids

Hunter and Bobbi both go to break Fitz out of prison, and they stick around for the rest of the season

Asgardians are like the elves in LOTR (books, not the movies), so they're constantly singing and dancing and all

Loki is shown playing a Norse flute-like instrument (we know they exist, we've found them, they're different than your typical flute and we don't really know how they sound but i want Loki to be a flautist and no i'm not not projecting (note the double negative) and yes i headcanon Loki to be a flautist i don't care what anyone says)

everyone gets therapy

someone (Monica or Jimmy) hits Hayward on the head, knocking him out (the same way Gandalf knocked out Denethor in ROTK when Denethor told everyone to flee) and the rest of SWORD works with them because clearly Hayward has issues

Stephen commits to not texting and driving

somehow Luis becomes He Who Remains just for one timeline so the entire story is told like how he tells his flashbacks

Coulson doesn't help Fury and Carol escape

T'Challa does not survive and M'Baku becomes Black Panther

the suit in Iron Man 3 is not garbage the entire movie

Tony doesn't find a way to save himself in time

Ross dies in Incredible Hulk

Loki has a pet flerken he just always carries around

by the same logic, Bucky has a kitten he meets between TWS and CACW that he always carries around. said kitten attacks people when they attack Bucky

when Thor goes back to 2013 Asgard, he drags Loki with him back to 2023

Clint tests the time travel by going to Sokovia and drags Pietro back with him

Steve comes back an old man, but they use Bruce's attempt at time travel to turn him back into the 30 something Steve he was

literally anything happens other than Thanos killing Loki bc Loki only used knives when he isn't even tall enough to reach Thanos's neck

Sam and Bucky straight up kill Walker

Daisy never goes through terrigenesis

Loki somehow ends up a tutor for Daisy

Bucky joins the aos team after they find him on the run from Hydra

Bucky plays baritone saxophone bc bari saxes are awesome and it adds nothing to the plot but he spends at least half an hour in each movie playing bari sax

everything's the same but John Williams is the composer

S.H.I.E.L.D. uses GH-325 to revive a bunch of composers (Mozart, Dvorak, Beethoven, Bach, Bizet, Holst, y'know, all my guys) because they for whatever reason have their bodies because of some wack mission. and now they have a bunch of classical composers alive who insist on writing more music. and what are you going to do, tell Bach to stop composing?

by that same logic, someone working at the Guest House decides to steal Freddie Mercury's body so that they can revive him bc he just loves Queen that much

Thor realizes how awful Odin is and makes it his goal to get revenge for what Odin did to his little brother

Thor meets a bunch of Loki variants (most notably gator Loki) and just decides to stop questioning anything ever

Mobius teaches Loki how to ride a jet ski

Loki arrives at S.H.I.E.L.D. and informs everyone he wants to go to school and learn about politics and run for president and S.H.I.E.L.D. is like "okay whatever just don't tell anyone you're a literal god" but have no way to stop Loki from telling anyone

y'know the "shot heard 'round the world" thing from the Battle of Lexington (first battle in American revolution, if you don't know what it is, we have no clue who made the first shot & both sides were telling their troops to not fire. once that shot was fired the battle broke out)? yeah well that was Loki i'm pretty sure

Loki comes to Earth and becomes an Avenger and all but only ever introduces himself as DB Cooper. Thor doesn't ever come to Earth, so everyone just thinks DB Cooper found the secret to not age and just showed up to save people. he disappears for stretches of time & everyone stops being confused bc he was in hiding for decades of course no one's gonna find him (he is actually on Asgard)
