I think the success of this movie encouraged its structure to be copied into the other MCU movies/shows. Strong setups, strong premises, weak middles, with a payoff that only serves as an ad for the next possible movie/show.

This wasn't a bad Cap version, this guy is a beast. 100% grit.

I think I said this here already, but it was this version that put me on Captain America. Then that led Marvel Ultimate Alliance, then 2011 happened.

Chris Evans' Cap is very similar to this one.

I actually compared him to this Cap a lot, THIS Cap/Civil War arc Cap were the standard for me to judge Chris' take.

He passed, obviously. CA: Winter Soldier changed everything for Cap on the mainstream.

The movie holds up too (Ultimate Avengers), back when Marvel was going through that Solo animated movie phase.

Just before The Next Avengers.

#Marvel #Marvel comics #Marvel 616 #Moon Knight vol. 6 #Moon Knight 2011 #Moon Knight comics #Moon Knight #Marc Spector #Buck Lime #there are some valid criticisms to be made here #namely the swapping out of Marc’s DID with more generic “hearing voices” which aren’t necessarily interchangeable #but man….I wish was there was good representation of mental health in comics but my expectations are so subterraneanly low at this point #just to survive #and there are some points I do love here #firstly heck YEAH Captain America trusts him and that definitely counts for something #secondly when Lime said “there’s something wrong with you” my first thought was “and what hero pray tell is a picture of mental health?”#so imagine my delight when that was Marc’s exact argument #the more comics I read (especially those of characters developed during the Marvel/Silver Age and later) the more I realize #“wow these characters were meant to be ‘complex’ (especially the first team of Avengers which was intended to be contentious #but please get some therapy”#because I mean? Spidey?#homeboy’s such a neurotic nervous wreck he got ulcers despite super healing #Cyclops? Somebody PLEASE get that man some help for his brain damage???#Hank Pym? Tony Stark? Matt Murdock?!? all in need of some serious psychiatric assistance #but boy does it make for some good reading and that’s why comic book characters are Like That
