my reasoning for each of these being that mr. boy was paired up with the commander, who was clearly a "most likely to succeed" type hero, and that since he's younger he might've been either really good at hero supporting or pretty powerful in his own right.

#my personal headcanon is that mr. boy is either a sidekick prodigy #because he comes from a long line of famous sidekicks #and it's because of that he was assigned to the commander despite being so much younger #like dave foley is twelve years younger than kurt russell irl but in the sky high universe #mr. boy looks like at least a freshman in that painting he has in his office #then maybe when the commander dropped him for jetstream maybe it kinda broke him #and maybe i'm working on a mr. boy-centric fanfic so i'm thinking too hard about everything #but i'm genuinely curious what people think #sky high #mr. boy #dave foley #disney

Cannot overstate how much that spongebob scene that went

Like was such a legit game changer for me as a kid

I remember that family and grownups and other kids at school would tell me in a sort of mean-spirited way "you look/sound/act/dress/talk like a boy" and I'd just be like

"Am I a pretty boy?"

There were other unexpected things that came from that long-term I think but that'sprobably where it started being fun
