Tumblr media
I recently read that Glen Murakami (co-creator of Teen Titans) gave each of 5 main Titans a distinctive color & a set of color to make each of them stand out and it makes so much sense.
I always associate each of Teen Titan with a distinctive color (the first picture)
Robin - Red
Starfire- Orange/Yellow
Cyborg-Blue
Beast Boy - Green
Raven - Purple
Tumblr media
And each had their own distinctive set of colors tied to their uniform
Robin - Red/Yellow (or Black)
Cyborg - White and Blue
Starfire- Green & Purple
Beast Boy- Purple & Black
Raven - Dark Blue & Black
Other Titans uniforms got distinctive set of colors as well
Aqualad got sea blue & black (changed from at-the-time color scheme of red & black probably to not clash w/ Robin and it was so well received it’s now his color scheme Post New 52)
Bumblebee - Black/Yellow (striped)
Herald - (blue/gray)
Such a seemingly simple idea, but it streamlined their comic costumes; makes the costumes & show still iconic 20 years on
Love this show much: Here’s the specific part of the interview where he talks about the color scheme below!
