ok, so here are my thoughts about Till the End of the Moon:
Tumblr media
First of all, i really enjoyed watching the drama, there were some things that i didn't like but it doesn't determine if is a good drama or not, just my personal preference.
Visuals:
Among all the xianxias i've watched, they really brought one of the best visuals and cgi. The photography and cinematography were also on point. One of the best things about the drama!
Characters:
I'm so glad i got to meet Tantai Jin, he is a complex and intriguing character played VERY WELL by Luo Yunxi, he definitely was the star of the show. The man really gave us the most unhinged, sad, pretty and mad human (or devil) being while using the most thin and neat eyeline and he's so iconic for that (he and dongfang qingcang would be besties, i feel it!)
Li Susu/Ye Xiwu are kind the kind of character that you love or hate or both, and honestly, i'm going with both. Really felt mixed emotions about her but i understand her character and why she behaved like that, Bai Lu once again did a great job <3
Also, shoutout to my favorite secondary characters Pian Ran (my beloved fox, i miss you so much), Qing yu (a cutie), Bai Yu (a puppy who loves his master so much) and my bad b*tch Si Ying (r.i.p baby you were mean but slayed).
The couples:
The main couple were not a "healthy" one and i acknowledge that but Bai Lu and Yunxi's chemistry is off chart, i'm glad we had another drama with them giving us all kinds of feels because they are really great with that. Also, if you want to watch them being one of the most funny and healthy couples of dramaland, i highly recommend Love is Sweet, it has "corporate" plot but they make it worth it.
Pian Ran and Qing Yu deserve the title of "second couple", they were fun, cute and had great chemistry (the writers did they dirty 🤬)
On the other hand, unfortunately, this drama has one of the worst "second lead" characters/couple (bingchan/mo nv and xiao lin/ji wu). I didn't like them for a bit and could erase them in any timeline/plot, very weak and with nonexistent chemistry :(
Costumes:
You can really tell that they spend efforts with the costumes and i appreciate it so much because the dresses and accessories (specially Ye Xiwu's head pieces) were stunning!! The team responsible for the costumes deserve a raise.
Plot/ending/editing:
Yes, it's a xianxia, and yes, i knew what kind of drama i was getting into and i'm not a "sad ending" hater or whatever, but i feel like the mass cutting and re-editing for the drama to be broadcasted really downgraded the overall quality of the drama.
Who directed also made a mistake choosing to release too much scenes that weren't really needed and then fast forward scenes that were important to the plot, you guys know what i'm talking about? yep, the dream arc/bo're life.
The dream arc indeed was important, specially for character development and to understand about the ancient gods and the battle against the former devil god, but how they prolonged when it could be done without taking almost 9 episodes is really frustrating.
There's a tiny detail that really bothered me while i was watching that how they used the same location/wardrobe for multiple scenes. Like, they put the actors on a place and made them record different kind of scenes that were put on the drama and you CAN tell they did that because the editing didn't help. I don't know if they did that to cut expenses but is just a thing that throws me off.
Now, about the last episode: i was meh... the ending was more bitter then sad. And, yes, i'm totally angry because Tantai Jin did not deserve the ending he got 😭🤬 like, would it kill to explain better if he was gone for good ??? because that last scene was confusing
OST:
I admit that i only heard the OST when i was watching, it was great but not memorable :(
-
well, i think this is the larger post i've made about a drama and i'm sorry if something sounds confusing or is written poorly, english is not my first language (i know, is such a latino thing to say sorry about having a "bad" english 😬)
rating: overall: 8.2/10 acting: 9.5/10 visuals 9.5/10 plot: 8/10 editing: 6/10

Rules-Memo for this blog!
Considering the situation that happened with Crowstales, I’m going to be setting some ground rules. Including about messaging me. I will ask people to please read this post if you plan to interact with this blog! Blog Rules: 1. Please remember my posts (and their topics) are for just educating the fandom and not meant to be used as an excuse to harass someone!
Yes, Ugi has traced stuff and done other stuff, but it is better to just protect ourselves from her. I can only suggest is that people don’t support her or Block her. By doing so we disable her range in the fandom space. We also need to alert people she’s traced from so they can handle stuff (as a lot of social media limits who can report about tracing.)
I do not want people Doxxing anyone within the Twst-Fandom! I do not support Doxxing. That is against the law!
You can also educate people if you want about the situation but please do not harass, message bomb or spread misinformation! There is a way to educate and make others aware of the tracing issue without annoying others.
You should also respect that people don’t want to deal with drama and that's fine. Everyone has their boundaries. This is why I also made tags so if people want they can blacklist stuff out. Block and move on if need be!
2. No Anon messages! Anon is disabled for this blog!
Again; I will not be supporting any Doxxing and as such if you want to share something your going to have to message or ask me normally.
Despite Anon being off though; I can promise if people do find any traced images and their sources I will keep all messages/asks private between myself and whoever sends the message if your so concerned about privacy.
If people want me to answer their asks publicly, then please also let me know when you send a message to me.
3.This blog is only going to focus on tracing/plagiarism issues.
As an artist myself, this is where my main focus will be about all this.
All I would like to do is help source things to the original fan-artists/creators because they deserve credit for their artwork and because I don’t support blatant tracing/plagiarism.
Yes, there is a difference in tracing/copying/referencing. I will go over this in a later post to help educate people.
4.  4. Do not copy pasting and altering any of my posts
I do not appreciate anyone taking my posts and copy pasting them and altering anything from them to be used for whatever reason.
5. I will respond when I can!
I have a life outside this Twsty-dramaland. So just be patient. I might not reply quickly given apparently how many messages/people are currently pinging me so please bare with me.
6. Please be civil when interacting with this blog!
I am just a human myself and I have my boundaries as well. Keep that in mind! Thank you!

goose's autumn's concerto rewatch
so this is a taiwanese drama that i came across circa 2014. it was released 2009 and only now i came to know about its popularity back then.
i still remember how i was surfing youtube for twdrama recommendations as i was introduced to dramaland back then. the image of those pixelated slides and old school editing is imprinted in my mind and i will never forget it. i remember liking it very much back then and now that ive watched an episode, i still like it.
i realise that i didnt really take in the beauty of autumn's concerto and was too young to comprehend the things that it addressed. i just wanted the 'bad boy' to be cured of his bad boy sickness by the 'good girl' like most of us did back then. but i trust young goose in their drama taste cause one of the best dramas and novels that have become famous today, i have already either read or watched them. i have to give a pat on the back to my younger self for finding this gem.
it was released when twdrama and their OSTs were getting popular. i still remember how the theme song made me feel all mushy and gooey and honestly, that time holds a lot of affection in my heart.
so, for nostalgia's sake and better comprehension, AHOY!

Well... This is my first "photo manip" edit what I made in March. What do you think? Is it so awful as I see it myself? I am thinking about to create a Soohyuk "manip" too, but I didn't decide it for sure yet...

CURRENTLY WATCHING: December.
Tumblr media
KOREAN.
+ The Red Sleeve (2021)(11/12-) ~ Airing. ★★★★☆
I am so enjoying Lee Junho's newest drama. It's wonderful to have him on the small screen again. Very happy with the fan service and eye candy this last week ^^
+ The King's Affection (2021)(10/24-) ~ Airing. ★★★☆☆
This drama had such a strong start, but as it continues to air, it has lost some of its focus. It often feels uneven in tone and a bit all over the place. I have the hardest time keeping track of all political players in this drama. This drama has too many people in the supporting cast.
+ Chimera (2021)(10/31-) ~ Airing. ★★★★☆
Loving that OCN's return to the small screen is proving to be such a strong and worthwhile drama. It delivers on everything that I would expect from an OCN drama: a dark, gritty plot, morally ambiguous characters, fire and brimstone.
The big reveal at the end of ep 10 was CRAZY!!!!!
+ Jirisan (2021)(10/24-) ~ Airing. ★★★☆☆
To be called tvN's "15th Anniversary Drama," Jirisan leaves considerable opportunity on the table. I keep on holding out that the story will have a good payoff since there is a promise of a grade-A cast, a noteworthy production team & a hefty budget to deliver on that Kdrama polish. Yet I can't help but feel how uneven this drama is in tone and how often the editing choices do little for the overarching story, especially for a complex multi-timeline drama like this one. I will continue to keep at it, but my hope for a top-notch drama is dwindling.
+ Inspector Koo (2021)(11/4-) ~ Airing. ★★★☆☆
I am loving how stylized Inspector Koo is. This is proving to be such a smart and fun drama to watch. I am always looking for a well-written drama centered around a strong female cast. Dramaland needs more of these !
+ Melancholia (2021)(11/10-) ~ Airing. ★★★☆☆
At this point, I am unsure where this drama will go. I am not really particularly drawn to school corruption and over-ambitious parents with too much money, yet this week I have to say the pacing was better. I will stick it out for a few more episodes before I make my decision on it.
I have found that I've liked this drama more now we are in the present day. I do sometimes struggle with dramas centered around high schoolers.
+ One Ordinary Day (2021)(11/28-) ~ Airing. ★★★★☆
In its first week, I am quite impressed with One Ordinary Day. I am always looking for gritty dramas.
JAPANESE.
+ Saiai (2021)(11/8-) ~ Airing. ★★★★★
This is easily the best thing I'm watching right now. It has been so nice to turn in every week to see what secrets each episode will drop. I am shamelessly rooting for the lead couple.
Dropped.

My 2020 in Dramaland pt 4/4
Or what if could have been.... these are ALL (korean, chinese, taiwanese and japanese) dramas I dropped. I’m including even the ones I watched one ep of:
Tumblr media
Korean dramas
When my love Blooms: JinYoung-ah! I failed you as a fan. I’m sorry. But no, for real, the drama might have been good but it was too melo for me at the time. The present time was too depressing, not what I needed at the start of the spring! And there was also not enough Jinyoung lol
The K2: I gave it a try when quarantine started. Made it to ep 8. This was actually the second time I’ve attempted to watch it. Maybe someday there will be a third and final one. I’m not sure...
Hyena: JuJiHoon is delicious, and I wanted to see him not killing zombies or all bloody. Good chemistry actually, but the law part bored me to sleep. Made it to ep 3. He looked hot af in a suit, btw.
When I was the prettiest: Only watched ONE ep to decide if I wanted to see it. I kinda liked it but decided to wait. I waited and saw the ending. A total NO. For real, Jisoo, I want to see you get the girl.
Flower of Evil: I can almost hear the collective gasp and the sounds of disgust from all the fans who loved it. Please read my explanation!!! I know how popular and well loved this drama was but... I just, well, wasn’t in the mood for it and didn’t fall madly in love like so many did. I tried. I really did. I follow a lot of people who watched it, so they kept me updated about it, it looked great, but it was not meant to be. Maybe, just maybe, someday I will comeback and give it a second try. Made it to ep 3. *Runs and Hides*
Dodosolsollalasolla or whatever. Ugh. I wanted to like it, so I gave it a chance, even though I wasn’t feeling it from the teasers. I’m sorry JaeWook. Choose better next time. They did him so dirty. Only watched one ep but I laughed about it here.
Chinese dramas
A little thing called first love The edits and fmvs are adorable! But I made the mistake of watching one that had their whole story and I said “Awww that’s so cute!” but the actual drama moved way too slow for me, I already knew what was going to happen and I struggled to connect with Kuanlin’s acting. He’s pretty to look at, but either your story falters or your male lead’s acting. You cannot have it both be bad. Ooops. So I lost motivation. Still, maybe I gave up too soon... Or not? lol I made it to ep 12 I think.
Tumblr media
Hear to Heart: WOW the chemistry was on another level. I think I even heard some dating rumors about the leads. One of those stories where they used to date but some big misunderstandind happens, they break up and there’s a LOT of angst when they meet again but now he’s hot and rich. I honestly only watched it because of one clip it showed up on my recommended lol but FL got on my nerves because I didn’t know what she was thinking or feeling half the time speak, woman! and the dude couldn’t decide on whether to treat her nicely or badly, so he was hot and cold and it was exhausting. LOL He also had a girlfriend but that didn’t seem to be important when he was trying to make out with his assistant (i.e. the female lead.) Gave up on ep 10 but I read she had amnesia and didn’t know what had happened in the past which explains why she looked confused all the time. Male lead found out, they cleared the misunderstanding and happy ending!
My strange friend: What I saw made me laugh super hard and it looked kinda interesting. I guess there just wasn’t enough Yibo to keep me glued to the screen (btw the guy has great comedic timing, THE RANGE!). I heard the drama had some budget issues and they stopped production for a while and when they returned, Yibo was apparently busy filming The Untamed, so they had to do some CGI tricks to make it seem like he was there lol that doesn’t motivate me a lot to keep watching. Still... it’s Yibo. Has anyone seen it? Is it worth finishing it?
The ones I’m really willing to give a second chance to:
Tumblr media
Romance of Tiger and Rose: Yeah, this one hurts. I’m gonna watch it, I promise. It’s just that the first ep, however crazy and funny, didn’t make me fall in love with the drama. I know spoilers lol and I want to try it again. I will watch it, it seems like my kind of thing lol
Dating in the Kitchen: Okay, big age gap between the leads my sister literally made a disgusted face when I showed her the trailer but if they have good chemistry, it doesn’t bother me, plus, I was liking the drama a lot. Another drama, however, intervened and became my obsession, but can’t remember which one. It was one that I did finish, for sure.
Sweet Dreams: Made it to ep 12 but OMG Deng Lun and Dilraba have the slowest slow burn. I mean, there’s 48 (49?)eps here! Why on earth do you need so much in a modern drama? It’s just business/company talk! A company that sells flowers btw I liked the dreams bit, and I LOVED watching Dilraba character shamelessly flirt with DengLun’s character in those sequences, but once they’re awake everything is not so great lol. Anyway, the dreams were gold and so was the chemistry, that’s why this is not completely dropped. I do want to see the whole thing.
General’s lady: Made it to ep 4 in one sitting but I paused on it and then I found Guardian and lol, I have priorities. But I liked the chemistry of the leads and it was cute. However, this might be more on the dropped than the maybe side of things...
Taiwanese  dramas
Lost Romance: I mean, I saw some spoilers O_o you know which ones. It seemed hot but wow so many eps for a taiwanese drama, or is this the norm? And the eps were long too. Or maybe it weren’t that long and I was just bored lol. A real pity, because one of my fave dramas, overall, last year was the magnificent Before we get married. Damn, I want to rewatch it so bad.  But this year, I didn’t watch any taiwanese dramas. I do need to work on watching more. Please tell me some good recs!
Japanese dramas
Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko made mo I actually kinda saw it with my sister. I mean, I was there when she was watching it, for the most part lol I know how it started, how the romance and the story developed (I know about the doctor’s ex) and how it all ended, I SAW the last ep. But I still feel like I fully didn’t watch it and I have no intention of doing so, so I put it on the dropped list.
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaand that's it! I hope no one takes this as bashing, most of these dramas ended up here because of lack of time/motivation. I'm sure that these dramas were great for a lot of people and someone's favorites. I mean, I have shows on my list of finished dramas I wish I hadn't seen and dramas that made it to my list of favorites barely anyone saw or people hated. You never know with dramaland 🤭
Anyway, happy new year! I hope 2021 is a great, better year for everyone! Also, not a priority at all, but since we're in the topic of dramas, let's hope next year's are better and more exciting lol

K-Dramas of 2020
Well, like the general mood of 2020, the dramas this year were uh, certainly an adventure. I was going to put all the dramas I watched this year here, but uh. This turned out longer than expected so I’ll guess I’ll separate K-dramas at the very least.
Putting this behind a cut because Long.
Completed:
365: Repeat the year: I barely remember this one, but I gave it 8/10 on MDL, maybe I should lower that, because honestly all I remember are the time-travel meet up set and the main actors.
CHIP-IN: A short who-dunnit, which has interesting characters, although the show was very wise to be capped at 8 Episodes, because the “mystery” was pretty predictable and also starting to wear thin. Still, the younger cast was stellar and I hope we get to see them in more.
Diary of a Prosecutor: The cases in this drama were actually legit interesting to me and I found the politicking surprisingly not bad. People were flawed in very human ways, but the drama gave us enough time with our main characters to enjoy getting to know all of them.
Do you like Brahms: Contender for worst drama of the year for me, good lord I hated the way this tanked its story line, its characters and the romance. Is it believable that the main characters might act this way? ... Debatable. Is it entertaining to watch? Hell fucking no. Don’t watch this one, unless you like stupid misunderstandings and non communication.
Extracurricular: Short action-y show on Netflix that makes me hopeful for what Sweet Home might be.
Flower of Evil: Lee Jun Ki gets to suffer prettily. That is All. Okay Moon Chae Won and LJK were great together, but it got almost makjang-y by the end.
Hospital Playlist: Delightful Slice of Life Medical show, that despite its delightfulness never quite got me. Very enjoyable and at 12 episodes it doesn’t overstay its welcome, but it didn’t stay with me either.
Hot Stove League: Pretty entertaining and as a drama about sports management seems reasonably accurate? (Not that I’d know of course).
Hyena: Flawed as heck in some aspects (the lawyer-plotting got lulzy and boring at the same time), but oh my god some of the HOTTEST chemistry this way from sunday. Joo Ji Hoon and Kim Hye Soo just crackled anytime they were on screen together and Joo Ji Hoon as the high powered lawyer who falls head over heels in love with KHS’s character who is more reluctant to act on those feelings is just *chefs kiss*. Also didn’t suffer the Dreaded Plot Denuement of 2020 (DPD2020). Sure the latter half wasn’t as tight as the beginning, but it stuck the landing and that’s all that matters.
Into the Ring: Weird camera angles and sometimes overly sharp edited shots aside, this had a solid romance, great characters, great romance and almost made me want to get into community politics lmao.
It’s Okay Not To Be Okay (Psycho But It’s Okay): The first half of this show is just *amazing*, the way the scenes transition is pretty much film-like and the main character trio is stunningly well acted. Sadly the story with the mom is resolved in the weirdest fucking way, but the drama decides to do the smart thing and just forget about it once that’s done and the finale made me cry ;_;.
Itaewon Class: Sadly also suffered the DPD2020. I was really into the first half, loved the way the characters found support in each other, plus: a main trans character! Handled really well! Also iconic OST. I was one of the few people who was into the romance of the main couple, but the way the latter half of the plot developed was just completely nonsensical and felt like the writer was just trying to tie off the lose ends as much as possible.
Kingdom Season 2: The first season was stellar and this continues the trend! Although it doesn’t quite reach the highs of the first season I am still so looking forward to season 3! More Joseon zombies please!
Money Game: I... apparently watched this, and looking at the logo there is some vague feeling of “Yeah this is familiar”. But nothing else...
Mr. Heart: Okay-ish BL drama that has it’s cute moments but nothing that made me go “Ooooh”. I am glad SK is getting in on this trend though!
My Holo Love: So all of those Robot/AI shows that came before that I’ve seen and had the premise of “Oh no, I’ve fallen for a ROBOT” when it either turned out their object of affection was either human or actually a robot, but their human counterpart was so shitty that no sane person would like them worked pretty well for me. This one didn’t. From what I remember the heroine does very much fall for the holographic version of this guy, but the human version is *different* and yet whoops the main couple is still human/human. Granted you can’t really do romantic kiss scenes between a girl and nothing, but the switch-over felt abrupt and the way our main lady just transfers her affections to the dude never sat right to me.
Mystic Pop Up Bar: Quite a few dramas this year went with 12 eps, and were all the better for it. Hwang Jung Eum is incredibly hit or miss with me (mostly it’s miss honestly), but in this one she’s used really well and I liked the way the premise was used!
Private Lives: I recently wrote a longer post about this, but honestly another victim of terrible writing and maybe DPD2020.
Stranger 2: Love! Not as much as Season 1, but man this writer is *so* good at writing smart and interesting plots and looking at things from many different angles!
Tale of the Nine Tailed: Flawed but man do I ever love the OTP. Like really really love it. Plus it stuck the landing for me in a way few dramas did in recent months.
The School Nurse Files: So weird. So fucking weird. And yet, so very entertaining. Thanks to its short length ( I think) some plot threads felt very much unceremoniously dropped, but it has a canon lesbian couple!
The World of the Married: Makjang to the Nth degree, got kind of exhausting by the end, but Kim Hee Ae is so good.
Train: Yoon Shi Yoon gets to suffer prettily!
When the Weather is Fine: Kinda mellow and sweet and I wish I could live like the main character does (just have a bookshop in the middle of nowhere and still no money issues??? The Dream) but for that also not super memorable.
Where Your Eyes Linger: SK’s first major Webdrama I believe? Cute and as a foray into this genre not bad, but I hope this is just a taste of things to come.
Dropped:
Hi Bye, Mama: So many people loved this, I couldn’t get over the basic premise and the way my brain tried to tie the logic in this together made my head hurt.  The King: Eternal Monarch: Maybe KES dramas just aren’t for me, I didn’t like the plot or the main couple. Woo Do Hwan and Kim Kyung Nam were amazing though and please please I beg both of you do more stuff.
18 Again: Nope. Lee Do Hyun is pretty, but the setup drove me bonkers and I pretty much liked no one.
Zombie Detective: Yikes no thank you. Complete mismatch of tones I wanted and the drama gave me.
Romantic Teacher Dr. Kim 2: Zzzzzzzzz. I found the first one mildly entertaining at least but this one just made me fall asleep immediately.
Black Dog: Yeah I watched like 2 Episodes of this and lost interest.
Search: I’ve watched like 6 eps and I know there’s zombies, but I couldn’t tell you much more tbh.
Start-Up: I watched 2 episodes in the beginning, didn’t think I’d want to live watch this and then just popcorned the tag until it got insufferable with the ship wars and this dropped out of my watch list pretty immediately.
Record of Youth: Pretty much the same deal as with Start-Up only in this case there wasn’t so much a shipwar as the tag showing me that this drama would *not* be my bag at all.
Still Watching:
Kairos: Hmmmm timey-wimey stuff. The FL is this close to losing me though. The fact I thought it plausible that she would murder someone just based on a TEXT from someone else says it all. (She didn’t, thank god, and seems to have found a few of her lost braincells, but by god she was frustrating).
Birthcare Center: I like what it’s trying to say and the main character and her husband are very cute, but a lot of the side characters don’t really interest me. It’s only an 8 ep drama, so I might finish this.
The Spies Who Loved Me: Honestly I’m this close to dropping it. Only my intense love for Yoo In Na and fondness for Eric are keeping me going. But she might not end up with Eric and I’m gonna be mad. Honestly if they just went OT3 I’d be really cool with this, but despite the small advancements in dramaland, they aint ready for that yet.
Lies of Lies: I watched 2 eps and I might continue (the premise seems hilariously makjang and sometimes I’m into that, but it’s *very* much on the backburner)
The Uncanny Counter: Delightful Webtoon vibe, with some great visuals and actually nice action. I’ve only seen 2 eps so far but at least they don’t want to make me poke my eyes out or make me fall asleep. Let’s hope it avoids the DPD2020 plague.

the worst second leads in the history of dramaland, drop that super detailed list! (not asking abt horrible female second leads bc they always get stereotyped as the Bitch, so drop an alternate list of nice female second leads, please) love, fairy anon
ahaha, I was hoping for this ask!
Second Lead Losers, K-drama Edition Key:
⭐Low key frustrating, a big baby.
⭐⭐A real jerk. Would definitely manipulate lead into liking him, possibly verbally abusing her and gaslighting. Would lie to get what he wants and causes actual harm to the lead before he does change and get redeemed a little.
⭐⭐⭐The worst of the worst. All of the above with added murderous intent. A literal villain. These guys are usually integral to the story, so they have to exist but protect the main and do not ship this toxic pairing. Not redeemable.
Tumblr media
Second Lead Losers, K-drama Edition:
The Tale Of Nokdu, Cha Yool Mu: ⭐⭐⭐
This guy is a straight up sociopath. What’s most disturbing about him is that he presents as a Really Good Guy at first. In actuality, he thinks of the female lead as property owed to him and will definitely murder for that and pretty much anything else. Kindly feeds a small child while trying to murder her family. Yeesh.
Angel’s Last Mission: Love, Ji Kang Woo ⭐
Dude just gives me the creeps. He is in love with a different version of the main and thus feels like he’s owed love from her. He is manipulative and off putting.
When the Camellia Blooms, Kang Jong Ryul ⭐⭐
Rich privileged celebrity who realizes he’s lost his first love and wants her back. He doesn’t seem to know why he wants her back or even care about how she feels. He TAKES PIL-GU FROM HER. He does redeem himself a little at the end but honestly every scene he was in was super annoying.
A Poem A Day, Shin Min Ho ⭐⭐
I can barely remember this dude but I do know he physically pushes her and is such a winey jerk, like almost the whole time.
The Best Hit, Hit The Top, Lee Ji Hoon ⭐
To be clear, I loved this drama and I actually really liked Ji Hoon’s character for the most part. But the way he oversteps with his friendship with Woo Seung made me really uncomfortable. Girl doesn’t like you dude! 100% redeemable tho.
Just Between Lovers, Seo Joo Won ⭐
He almost got two stars but since everyone is so damaged, I’m giving him a little bit of a pass. See, he’s her boss and him pushing the relationship openly, even while knowing she likes someone else is just icky.
Extraordinary You, Baek Kyung ⭐⭐⭐
Baek Kyung is one of those second leads that makes a drama. He HAS to exist for the plot to work and the show would not be the same without him. However, he is a jerk through and through, up until the very last minute in which he sort of redeems himself a little but maintains jerk status. He has all opportunities to apologize and literally never does. What a weirdo, plotting to kill his fiance off stage and then sort of taking it back, but definitely wishing he could date a shell of a human :P #leejaewookisapuppytho
The Heirs, Choi Yeong Do ⭐⭐
I almost didn’t add this because I don’t ship the leads either but he IS an annoying second lead. Both are not healthy pairings so what can you do? But Yeong Do is a bully and bullies are literally the worst. If this was a historical drama, he’d have totally murdered to get the girl. Honestly I can barely remember this show.
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, In Gook Doo ⭐
This is a weird one because SHE likes HIM! But he’s so mean to her you guys! Like, really toxic about how gender roles work, and just pushed all my buttons (the bad ones).
Flower Boy Next Door, Oh Jin Rak ⭐
Your standard whiney “I’m owed this girl cause I was here first” type of dude.
My Absolute Boyfriend, Ma Wang Joon ⭐⭐
Ugh. This guy broke up with his girlfriend for k-drama reasons and just goes around being rude and petty. He’s happy to manipulate his ex while they are together and broken up. To be fair, there are a lot of things to hate about this drama so he’s just the icing on the cake.

Exit Review: Search WWW
Tumblr media
Synopsis
Bae Ta Mi is a highly intelligent, driven business woman working in the fast paced technology sector as a powerful executive with the popular web portal, Unicon.
At the same time she's got the opportunity to climb higher than ever in her career--and consequently has the furthest to fall--she meets a younger man named Park Morgan in a arcade, and after engaging in a few competitive games of Tekken the two of them get a drink together and have an immediate palpable attraction to one another. One thing leads to another and they end up sleeping together.
Ta Mi might have been willing to let the whole thing go as a one night stand, but shortly afterwards she finds out that Morgan--the CEO of his own small music company that composes music for videos games--has recently taken a contract with Unicon. and the two of them must navigate newly blossoming feelings and differing world views around their fast paced professional lives.
The story also revolves around the lives of two other high powered women in executive positions within the companies of Barro and Unicon, balancing issues of love and business as well as ethical dilemmas around technology, privacy and freedom of information.
Review
Story: The story of Search WWW happens on a couple different levels. On the one hand it's a kind of feminist wish fulfillment fantasy, where the majority of the powerful executives running this part of the world are beautiful women who are interested in forwarding their careers, forming friendships and rivals with each other as they do, and somehow managing to have thriving love lives at the same time.
On the other hand, it's about a collection of people with different struggles trying to find balance in their lives. Whether that balance is between their independence and their need to be loved, their idealism and their ambition, or between family duty and personal identity.
It's kind of a difficult drama to review for this reason. There's a lot of different elements at play, and many of them work well, though not always equally well. This is a drama with a lot to say, while also trying to be a fun piece of escapism. And sometimes it definitely seems to compromise the message for the escapism or vice versa. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I think unless you are fully buying into the concept and the characters it's going to be difficult to find the drama wholly satisfying on every front. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none kind of situation. It's a corporate drama, a female power fantasy, a noona-romance and a piece of social commentary about search engines. That's a lot of hats to wear at once and wear well.
Acting: Jang Ki Yong has been all over the place in the past year, and it looks like he isn't going anywhere but up from here. He already proved that he is capable of handling a male lead role in Come and Hug Me, although I don't feel that was his strongest performance. In Search he seems to be showing a more grounded performance. In interviews he talked about the director encouraging him to play a more relaxed version of himself, and because he often plays stiff, stoic individuals it was really refreshing even though the enthusiastic young man who is unreservedly in love with an older woman is not at all a new concept. I'd like to see more like this in the future from him.
Im Soo Jung has been acting for a long time, but she hasn't made a lot of dramas, and only came back to dramaland after a 13 year hiatus to make 2017's Chicago Typwriter and 2019's Search. If this is the kind of work she's going to keep putting out, I'm looking forward to her next projects. I really hope she keeps making drama in the coming years, because she's great as Ta Mi. Very fun, charismatic, and cutting, with just the right amount of pathos.
The main trio of women play off each other so well, and I loved the way the drama focused on their individual dynamics and developed them, especially the emphasis on female friendship which is oft neglected, but never should be. Especially in this kind of show.
This drama also gave us a very cute romance between Lee Da Hee's Scarlett and Lee Jae Wook's (also recently of Extraordinary You fame) adorable rookie actor, Ji Hwan. One hopes to see more from both of them in a similar vein, and even if it's a bit of a long shot it would be lovely to see them reunite in another project, because the chemistry was golden.
Production: I personally loved the way this drama looked and felt to watch. I thought the editing, sets, styling, etc had a lot of personality. There was obviously a lot of thought put into how each scene would be shot, the colors we associate with the different characters, the camera movements that clue us into how the characters are feeling and how they are relating to other characters. There's nothing phoned in about the editing and direction. I think the whole drama looks very expensive and very clean.
Tumblr media
However, I did see some complaints about the editing. My roommate didn't like the wobbly camera movements that are used in emotional scenes to indicate the characters are in distress, they made her feel sea sick. So something to be aware of. For me, however, it worked.
Feels: Man, I have heard every kind of reaction to this show. I've heard from people who liked the romance and had no interest in the business aspects of the drama. I've seen people who couldn't care less about the main romance but liked the parts of the drama that were about powerful women kicking ass and solving ethically complex problems regarding the business. I've seen people who deeply disliked Ta Mi, people who loved her, people who thought she and Morgan were boring as sin. I've seen people (a lot of them, mostly on tumblr) who thought that Scarlett and her actor were the only reason to watch this drama at all.
While, a lot of that is valid, I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. I do think it helps to be a little bit older in order to relate with the characters better. Teens and young twenties might have a hard time empathizing with Ta Mi, her priorities and her insecurities, and I could see that making this a frustrating watch at times. But I thought it was a realistic portrayal of a relationship between two people with radically different value systems and sets of life experiences. For me the romance really worked and I liked all three of the female leads.
I do also think it's going to significantly help if you like business dramas to begin with. I personally found the idea of a web portal business like Google or Bing, how much influence they have over the information people see and what people talk about and some of the moral dilemmas that go along with that really interesting and unique.
Would I recommend Search: WWW? Yes, especially if you like dramas with messy, realistic relationships, corporate intrigue or just female power fantasy.
8.5/10

jumbled thoughts on crash landing on you (2020).
ㅡ this is nowhere near what you’d call a ‘review’.
spoiler alert!
.
.
First of all, I might need to say that I initially had no plan on watching this show. It’s pretty understandable considering that I recently lost interest on being the avid drama watcher I was, and now shifting more on films & books. You see...if you watch too many dramas, it’s totally normal to get bored of it (i mean the overused tropes???typical plot???) and just staying away from it. It’s not helping that recent shows I’ve watched are lackluster at best, and I haven’t been able to found a good one in a while. But I was just recently subscribed to Netflix, and this pops up more than I’d want it to, which brought me to mindlessly clicking the first episode due to boredom I’ve had for not watching any shows in MONTHS and the rest is history. I wasn’t that excited for starting this one to be frankly, due to endless spoilers I’ve gotten from twt and I had been mad over it. I was in a state where I knew how this’d end, but goes for it anyways because I have nothing to do.
The scriptwriter for this particular show is also the one who wrote You Who Came from the Stars (2013) and Legend of the Blue Sea (2017), and I wasn’t exactly a big fan of her writing. And the very troupe that I immensely dislike on the afore-mentioned shows was included on this drama as well. This scriptwriter seems to have a huge liking for putting out thriller-like tone on a romance drama, and it didn’t sit well for my preferences. If you’ve watched these three shows, you’d know all the leads are ALWAYS having dangerous encounter with villains and near-death experiences you’d rarely see in romcoms. It bugged me off how much she seems glued to this troupe and constantly having it on three representative shows she’s writing for, and these are honestly one of my ultimate reason for not doing rewatches for her dramas (I think CLOY could be an obvious exception due to the stellar casting choices for the leads; i’ll explain this later). Not a lot of people could do a well-written thriller-romance, and hers weren’t ones of those. It takes a fair and well-balanced tone to make it work, but in these shows, it just feels like constant fillers and a complete try-hard to make this unpredictable, when all we know that it’s nearly impossible to kill the leads (which I might be wrong while making this seamless assumption but okay).
The biggest downside for the writing style for these shows (bcs I’m not just talking about cloy ㅡit applies just the same for ywcfts and lotbs) is the very inability of Park Ji-eun scriptwriter-nim to write at least a DECENT ending for her shows. And that, my friend, is why I wouldn’t give this perfect score despite my unlimited praises in terms of acting, when I knew how good it’d be if she just let go of her obsession for making the ending ‘impactful’ (which seems to be horribly received by the audiences), and just write a proper ending for ONCE. It’s a big shame it didn’t happen on this drama (*disappointed but not suprised*), but I won’t stop hoping nonetheless. She has a knack for writing witty & entertaining script with great cast ensemble, and that’s why despite my dislike for some of the traits of her shows, I still watch them anyways.
Aside for the poorly-written ending, while I found the editing for first half of the show a lil bit tacky sometimes (especially when it needed CGI), Crash Landing on You also suffers from unnecessary lengthy duration (mostly because it hit big domestically and internationally and the creators get greedy which is never a good thing) that could have been made effective if they weren’t spent so long on shallowly written villainous role which seems to be written for the sake of unpredictability (and was acted wonderfully by Oh Man-suk with its limited character background given). It happened as well on YWCFTS and LOTBS, and again, if you’ve seen those two shows, you’d know how similar the pattern for the plot of CLOY compared to them. If you love them, then it’d work out good for CLOY as well, and if it’s not (like me), then you’d know what kind of writing style Park Ji-eun’s best at along with her worst features on the shows.
.
.
.
.
DO THESE LISTED-DOWN FLAWS MEAN I’M NOT ENJOYING THE SHOW?
NO.
In fact, I’m enjoying it a whole lot more than I did with ywcfts and lotbs.
What ultimately sets cloy apart from the two shows is the leads’ acting compability. With ywcts and lotbs, it’s no doubt and much obvious to see that Jun Ji-hyun greatly overshadowed her acting opponentㅡplaying on roles she’s best at, be it as a spoiled popular actress and clueless mermaid. She’s just that good on playing roles that doesn’t have any calmness to it; and more like crazy and freeing women who knows no boundaries. Although her emotional acting was very much in good quality, as well. And because of this very fact, both her costars couldn’t have the equal amount of spotlight, mostly because the characterization for her character (and how she added flavor to that) is much stronger compared to what could be expected from the male leads who, most of the time, don’t share similar traits like hers. I still say that Kim Soo-hyun’s performances on ywcfts are definitely good enough to pair up with Jun Ji-hyun, but I couldn’t say that he’s on his best role despite it prolly being one of his widely known ones.
On this show, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin could be said on a similar level for acting capability. Though Son Ye-jin wins out more because of the scriptwriter’s tendency on making her female lead stood out due to their strong characterization, it worked okay because Hyun Bin does match her energy and it just contributed to the fact that he’s a visually good looking actor but still manage to be very damn good at acting as well. And it’s rare to see actors like that on dramaland, you know. Most of widely popular actors seems to stick on one role and never grows from that, but despite his flopped works (yes I’m still bitter on how ineffectiively used he was on Hyde Jekyll and Me) before he started to hit big again after Memoir of Alhambra, ones that had paid attention to his works would know that Hyun Bin, is indeed, good at acting, especially on showcasing his detailed expressions added to the role he’s given. His performances on Secret Garden still awes me to no end, and I’m happy to see that powerful raw acting capability again while he potrayed Ri Jeong-hyeok in this show.
And Son Ye-jin?This show is just another valid proof that she’s more than a “Melo Queen” people seems to have loved her for. The bratty, spoiled and even brazen acting she’s showed on the drama was incredibly well-acted. Her chemistry with her co-stars were fantastic. Of course, I shouldn’t have to say anything about her acting qualityㅡshe’s just THAT good.  And I love her more on roles like this; where she could  freely show off her capability as an actress on a broader spectrum, rathen than her usual melancholic roles in most of her films. I thought she was a lil bit wasted when she chose to play on Something on the Rain, so thank god she accepted the offer for this show!
And their chemistry is totally off-the-charts, fyi. I might have recently added them on my personal top list for being the most visually good looking couple I’ve ever seen on kdramas with explosive chemistry which I greatly appreciate, and YES I have seen a lot to know that their magnetic presences for each other is like no other. A lil bit biased but okaayyy.
From the leads alone, this is just an absolute must-to-watch show. It’s incredibly rare to see such good performers to helm a show on romance dramas these days. And the most suprising thing is how they doesn’t lose out to the second leads. Seo Ji-hye and Kim Jung-hyun were great on their own feet, but Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin were just so good on this show that I ALMOST couldn’t care less about the second leads. They grew on me though, and THAT ENDING HURT ME.
And the rest of the casts???Just pure goodness. Everyone has their own color, from the neighborhood moms, the clueless & silly team but still one of my favorite bits to watch, to the villainous role. Everyone’s just doing so great on their role that I couldn’t pick on anything about them. All the characters are the the life of this show. If you’re more of a character-driven drama person, you’d enjoy this immensely.
And it’s so fascinating how they could maintained the light-heartedness of the show to the very end albeit a couple of finale episodes getting so dramatic & hits more emotional beats than usual. I mean, THIS SHOW FEELS LIKE A COMICAL TYPE OF DRAMA SOMETIMES BECAUSE IT WAS THAT HILARIOUS T.T One of the best traits from Park Ji-eun’s scriptwriter, if I might add. Not to mention, the soundtracks! My favorite is Davichi’s by the way :)
.
.
.
.
I still have a lot of praises for the acting part, because it feels refreshing to see such a well-acted drama while getting so much popularity at the very same time. With dramas like Descendant of the Sun, Goblin, and more internationally well-received kdramas out there, I still find it hard to choose a drama that has leads with equal amount of respect, trust, and purely in love just as much as they are to each other like this one. Most of romance dramas heavily relies on either the woman or man to be a lil bit more in love with their respective partners, but it wasn’t the case with this one. And that is why despite my constant rant & nitpick for the show, I still consider this as one of my great watch in recent years (not that I have many that I had watched lol).
.
.
.
Watch it for you’re in for witty dialogues, constant hilarity between the characters, and explosive chemistry & well-acted performances from the leads & the rest of casts.
Do not watch it for you’re not prepared for the flaws I’ve listen down, and how this is not directed for ones that seek a realistic watch. Ultimately, Crash Landing on You is best watched if you’re not using your brain for it.

I’ve been such a drama slacker lately (uhmmm but because my irl life has been crazy, yay huge work events when we’re suddenly stupidly short-handed). Idk when I’ll be able to watch the last few episodes of HPL (I haven’t even downloaded last week’s eps!) so I’ll probably avoid being online much until then so I don’t get spoiled (not that I have any fear of how it’ll end, but I want the thrill of seeing those kisses without knowing what’s coming!).
I swear I plan to have a Dramaland Forecast for June since I skipped the last two months but it’ll probably not be published on the 1st.
I’m also scrambling to edit recaps that kept slipping through the cracks of “I’ll finish this later” and suddenly later is somehow magically WEEKS later, so I need to get caught up before new episodes air. It’s just been one of those months when I’m like “oh wow can I put all my non-work life on hold so my head doesn’t explode? No? Well, okay, then...”
