do you ever just think about how mutant suppression would even work? not like a pill or shot or whatever but like entering an area where powers are ‘turned’ off

like what if someone’s mutation is like physically a part of them, if they can shapshift stuff does it leave them unable to change or does it revert them back to their ‘true’ form if they have one? what if they don’t?

like I know they kinda do this in xmen the last stand but I think what they did was kind of dumb why would hank’s fur and skin change just because he got close to this kid? it’s not like his fur and skin was some sort of illusion magic or whatever it is literally part of his body where does it go? bc it obviously isn’t gone bc as soon as he steps out it shows up again

like if the fucking guy with wings from that movie were to get near the kid would his fucking wings fall off???? obviously not they’re attached to his fucking body and them being invisible isn’t suppressing his powers it’s just adding an illusion on top of it

why would mutant suppression kid come with nifty look normal powers

I know this is about 10 years too late to do a textpost talking about this weird part of xmen the last stand but??? it was the only example of aoe power suppression I could think of off the top of my head 

and this wasn’t even what this textpost was originally gonna be about but I started thinking about like security at like the airport or like an important building and screening to check for shapeshifters

#I learn toward power suppression for shapeshifters should actually be they are stuck in the form that they currently hold #not that they revert #I mean especially if they are the type of shapeshifter like tonks or teddy lupin where afaik they don't have a '''''''true'''''' shape #I mean if it's something that a person is actively using their power to sustain then I could see them reverting #also if mystique they said that it takes concentration to hold a form so I can see her reverting #but not changing and no longer being blue #just unable to change out of her normal blue form #but hank isn't actively using his power to sustain his fur it's fucking hair #tbh if you want to have suppressed hank lose his fur I think it should fucking fall off bc it's a physical thing not an illusion #I apologize for this long and random post out of no where
