Tout d’abord il faut savoir que cette immense artiste est née dans le Missouri en 1906. Elle est d’origine ESPAGNOLE, AFRO-AMÉRICAINE et AMÉRINDIENNE. En 1937, elle devient Française suite à son mariage avec Jean Lion. Joséphine était chanteuse, danseuse, actrice et meneuse de revue ! Il faut savoir aussi que pendant la seconde guerre mondiale elle joue un rôle majeur dans la résistance française face à l’occupation. Plus tard, elle mettra sa grande notoriété aux services de grandes causes ; en soutenant notamment le mouvement pour les droits civiques aux États-Unis et lutta toute sa vie contre le racisme ! HONORING BLACK HISTORY MONTH. Prompt 1 : a writer / author. For me is #tonimorrison À partir d’ici je décide de faire mon post en français (et non ce n’est pas parce que mon anglais est douteux bande de médisants) 🤦🏻‍♀️😈. Bref, je choisis de mettre en avant cette célébration dans ma langue maternelle car ce mois est traditionnellement célébré aux États-Unis, Canada 🇨🇦❤️, Royaume-Uni et Pays-Bas pourtant l’histoire du vieux continent remonte bien plus loin et c’est pourquoi je pense que ce mois aussi appelé AFRICAN-AMERICAIN HISTORY MONTH devrait être international. Pour ce jour, j’ai choisi d’honorer la grande, l’immense CHLOE ANTHONY WOFFORD (elle conservera pour nom de plume MORRISON même après son divorce. ) Née le 18 février 1931 elle a été toute sa vie une guerrière qui n’avait pas peur de choquer en disant les choses comme elle les ressentait ! Boursière, elle a fait de brillantes études et a commencé sa carrière en tant qu’enseignante et éditrice. Son premier roman ne fut publié qu’en 1970 et ne fut pas un grand succès. Mais, Elle fait partie de ces femmes, fortes, libres, passionnées et fières qui ne se laisse pas abattre par un premier essai non concluant ! 18 ans plus tard en 1988 elle obtient le #prixpulitzer pour « BELOVED » qui est une immersion dans la vie des Noirs aux USA au XIXème siècle. Ce sera le début d’une trilogie passionnante 🖤 Elle fut également la première Afro-américaine à obtenir le #prixnobeldelitterature en 1993. Elle nous a quitté dans la nuit du 5 au 6 août 2019 #restinpower ♥️ Alors pourquoi cette citation particulièrement qui n’est pas vraiment l’une des plus connues ! Et bien justement pour ça ! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Car quand on se penche sur son parcours et son œuvre, onze romans en tout. Ils sont pour chacuns d’entre-eux une occasion d’examiner et donc de comprendre ; l’influence du passé sur le présent !
