Only myxo I found today was wolfs milk slime mold. Great example of an aethalium body— you can see in the second pic that the balls are filled with spores. They’re the puffballs of Amoebozoa!

I know it may be hard to talk about, so I will apologize in advance.

But what do you think happened to your two bunnies? Was it a disease , hereditary problems , not being fed hay or the correct food , an accident at home or incorrect care knowledge? Do you know why both of them passed?

I'm afraid not, there are too many different options. My sister is a vet but she's not the type to deal with rabbits or the like, and let's just say that where I live things to care for a rabbit decently/responsibly are harder to come by than elsewhere :/.

I don't know if it's disease or something, here by the way there are no endorsed vaccines for rabbits since many common diseases like myxo or rhd are not seen.

Then the little one woke up calmly and from one moment to another he collapsed, he started to try to run but he couldn't keep his balance. He didn't seem to have broken anything, he just stayed like that until he let out a shriek of pain and passed away. My sister noticed that he was "skinny" maybe it could be a feeding thing, although I always made sure he had his hay available, vegetables.

The older one, during one afternoon was as usual and climbed up on the bed to lie down although she stayed there a little longer than usual. Before I knew it, she was already lifeless, lying there. She didn't scream, she didn't move, she just lay there. With her I think it could have been a possible stress, I feel so bad because just the day before we managed to improve our relationship 😔.

Be that as it may, in a way this was a lesson for when in the future I will be able to take care of a rabbit again, but with even better conditions. I want to think more positively I suppose.

"The best-studied case involves what happened when myxomatosis hit Australian rabbits. The myxo virus, native to a wild species of Brazilian rabbit, had been observed to cause a lethal epidemic in European domestic rabbits, which are a different species. Hence the virus was intentionally introduced to Australia in 1950 in the hopes of ridding the continent of its plague of European rabbits, foolishly introduced in the nineteenth century. In the first year, myxo produced a gratifying (to Australian farmers) 99.8 percent mortality rate in infected rabbits. The problem was that the myxo virus evolved to serve its own interests, which differed from ours as well as from those of the rabbits. The virus changed so as to kill fewer rabbits and to permit lethally infected ones to live longer before dying. As a result, a less lethal myxo virus spreads baby viruses to more rabbits than did the original, highly virulent myxo."
