So i was thinking about the multiverse and how there has to be at least one universe where all the ninja turtles are girls/raised as daughters (im a firm believer in every version of Splinter looking at these baby turtles and going "i have no idea what sex they are so im just gonna call them all 'he'"), so i decided to play around with a full on genderswap au

Ive run into a bit of a problem regarding names. I really really want to keep the turtle's real names and nicknames, as 1) i feel they are essential to all tmnt continuities and 2) the nicknames aren't hardcore masculine names these days and therefore highly likely they would use them

The big problem is April. Ive looked at 49 different versions and combinations of names for boy!April and narrowed them down to these:

I love your dragel world. I just got finished devouring the Neilson Hewitt Books (to the point where I accidentally stayed up all night because I couldn't stop). I'm so fascinated by this series! I know you have a lot going on, but is this one on the agenda for updates? I'm waiting for Claudia to hit her son with a clue-She just seems more in tune with her dragel instincts. Speaking of Claudia, I just met her and I'm already in love. <3 I'm off to read Azure Spiral next. Merrows sound delightful

Currently, ep 17 is in progress and I’ve been working on it a little bit last month. I’ve switched gears for Haunted Hearts #4 for May, but I’ll pick up Neil’s story after unless inspiration strikes, so a possible June release or earlier, depending.

omfg how am I interested in Wolfe Tone and don't know anything about his wee bestie Samuel Neilson, please tell me your favourite lil stories about him 🙏

Neilson was in charge of running the Northern Star newspaper, where he was the editor. when the newspaper committee was first formed it had several people on it, but most of the others quickly went "oh... well this is more boring than I thought, so I'm off to join a different committee now. Best of luck though Neilson xx" so Neilson ended up having to mostly fund it himself.

At one point Charles Hamilton Teeling, who was 16 at the time, heard about the Armagh Outrages and decided that he, a Catholic teenager, was going to go and singlehandedly end sectarianism there by telling everyone to be nice to each other. Predictably, he didn't even get out of the county he lived in before he was spooked by roving gangs of Peep O'Day Boys, so he wrote a letter to the wealthy Protestant but famously pro-Catholic Neilson asking him to come and keep him company while he went to Armagh. Neilson showed up to travel there with him, but Teeling had by that time heard about the Battle of the Diamond, and was understandably too scared to go any further, so Neilson had to take him home instead.

Not long after Wolfe Tone came to Belfast to join the United Irishmen, he went on a picnic with several other members of the organisation. While there, Neilson made Tone, Henry Joy McCracken, the Simms brothers, and several other people climb up onto a hill above the place they were picnicking to swear that they would devote their lives to fighting the British forever and ever and ever.

One extremely incriminating piece of evidence the government had on Neilson was that at one point he had gone out to a pub with an informer called John Bird and someone else, gotten drunk, and then forced everyone to toast to the greatness of the French Revolution multiple times.

Related: Neilson was so supportive of the French Revolution that Wolfe Tone apparently called him The Jacobin.

When Thomas Russell, McCracken, Neilson, CH Teeling, and several other people were rounded up in Belfast in 1796 and arrested, they were taken to Dublin to questioning. While there, they were processed before being properly sent to their cells, and while it went mostly smoothly when the magistrate asked Neilson for his name he started arguing with the magistrate about giving it to him and then turned back to his friends and joked that the magistrate might be drunk. This mortified Thomas Russell, so he pulled Neilson aside, told him off in front of everyone, and forced him to apologise to the magistrate for making fun of him.

While in prison, McCracken, Neilson, Teeling and co. were kept in solitary confinement at first. They didn't like that, so they just sort of. started taking the locks off of the doors of their cells at night, and socialising in the hallway. Unfortunately my source, RR Madden, doesn't go into any more detail on how the hell they accomplished this.

One thing that they were not allowed to have in prison in 1796 was writing supplies such as paper, pens, ink, etc. However, Neilson's friend Oliver Bond's wife, Eleanor, baked a writing kit including all of those things into a pie and brought it to them in prison, so they were able to write letters.

The story of how Neilson got out of prison in 1796 is completely insane in every way and has its own post. Short version is that Edward Cooke tried to have the aforementioned John Bird testify against Neilson and McCracken in court, and it blew up in his face spectacularly.

Soon after getting out of prison, Neilson was invited to breakfast at the house of someone he sort of knew, who had recently begun informing for the government. Neilson somehow got an inkling that this was going on, so he told the servants to keep his horse ready outside. Breakfast passed smoothly, but afterwards the host stood up and told Neilson that he couldn't leave as the soldiers were coming for him. Neilson, in response, stuck his hand into his waistcoat pocket (which was empty) and went "right, I've got a gun, and those people out there are actually not soldiers but my friends with pikes and more guns." In the time it took for the man, who believed him, to process this Neilson jumped out the window (luckily the room was on the ground floor) and escaped.

After many of the United Irish leaders were arrested at Oliver Bond's house, Neilson had to play the role of basically Lord Edward Fitzgerald's only friend, because Lord Edward was on the run in Dublin and unable to speak to his family. They would go out on walks at night around the city, at one point being stopped by a pair of patrolling soldiers, who said that they were looking for Lord Edward Fitzgerald and Samuel Neilson. Lord Edward pretended to be a doctor, Neilson pretty much just said "nah you've got the wrong guy," and the soldiers let them go without trouble.

When Neilson was arrested for the second time, in 1798, he negotiated for the lives of his fellow prisoners in return for them all detailing their activities with the rebels (without incriminating anyone else). When Neilson went forward for his questioning, he was brought out in so many chains he could barely walk, which even the magistrate thought was strange. The jailor explained that it was because Neilson had acted sort of aggressively several times, so he was scared of him. Neilson made fun of the jailor for being scared of someone in so many chains he could barely walk, and then went "and why shouldn't I act however I want? what are you going to do, sentence me to death again?" The magistrate didn't like that, but they proceeded with the questioning anyway because they didn't want to have to deal with him again.

𝐸𝓍𝓉𝓇𝒶𝒩𝑜𝓉𝑒𝓈: (not to spoil the book I’m working on, but he ends up falling for Monroe’s sister. I just not going to say how or why, because I don’t want to spoil anything for when the book comes out.

Neil’s relationship with his mom and why he’s against being what he is: they don’t exactly get along to much, since Neil isn’t exactly happy with being a male hexion beast. 

Neil also doesn’t like spells or anything that has to do with witch craft, because it just isn’t something he was/is interested in. 

Neil spoke to his mom on holidays and birthdays, he would stop by every once in awhile to see her and his sister Adalind whom he had a close bond with since their mom wasn’t exactly happy with him.

Neil was asked to join the resistance because of his abilities, he was confused at first before realizing that he could do great good with how powers and help people which is what he wanted to do in the world. 

Neil left Portland once he had turned of age and had enough of being around weson in general, so he left to find his own way and path which is how he stumbled upon the resistance or actually they had found him and recruited him.

Neil also has changed him name to Neil tenet(a reference to another movie Pattinson was in.) which was a combination of his first and middle name, he did that so no one would expect him of being Adalinds brother accept for misner and the resistance. 

Neil is a trained yet good fighter for the resistance, he is also one of their field agents who knows a bit of medical. He still at times stays to himself and very quiet, especially during meetings or on missions mostly because I doesn’t like talking very much.

How Neil got his job and how he met his first Grimm: Neil meet Freddy Calvert during a resistance mission when the two of them went under cover, him and Freddy became good friends after that mission and Freddy had offered him a job at his spice shop if he wanted it since that’s where Neil’s next mission would be.

Neil met Nicks mom Kelly burkhardt on a another mission, he ran into her shortly after mysiner and the others of the resistance joined together for a meeting. Him and Kelly had to work together in order for the mission to go smoothly, and so it did but as as soon the mission was over Kelly became one of the few people he trusted after they both had saved each other’s lives on the mission.
