Wangxian are great and all but i find that i find them so much more entertaining when i'm writing them from an outsider pov like. These characters have their own personal drama and bullshit going on and Suddenly There's Those Two having the romance of the century just. A little over there. And the other characters just have to be like "alright well they're insane. Moving on." It's SO funny. Like they can't just be a little normal lovey dovey side ship to me they have to be weirdly intense about it. Even in the most normal fluffiest coffee shop au they should have deeply genre-incongruent drama and be uncomfortably ready and willing to die for each other.

I’ve posted some panels or pieces of these but never the entire sequence on here I don’t think, so but this is one of the only substantial things I’d say I’ve kept in a vault.

I feel like compared to my newer stuff these look super rough, but they were really good practice.

These have pesterlogs that go with them but this post is already huge so eh. This was set to occur a couple hours after Caliborn’s masterpiece, so Roxy and Dirk are talking about Halquius’s heroic sacrifice/death. Davepeta and Dirk continue that line of conversation, while Roxy is pulled into an argument about self control as I bum everyone out by reminding them that Jasprose never actual stopped being an alcoholic.

i want a companion thats like,, a citizen of the universe. instead of being like a modern human that needs everything explained to them theyve got their own whole like alien-to-us worldview. they know a lot about the universe because they function within it as we do in like, earth but also at times it becomes clear that their view might be biased (highlighting the way our own views are biased)

and they and the doctor can get in some real headbutting about 'no thats not how that happened/the effects of that event were different than you think/okay thats all very well in theory and im sure technically the correct Big Choice but heres how my family/home was still indirectly personally affected etc

and to make it extra fun they can have their own preconceived notions of timelords. really make the doctor face like, their TimelordnessTM. the way they are part of that system, time cop

and this companion probably is wrong about a lot of things timelord but you know what they say exposition is easy to sneak in through arguments. and the doctor loves correcting people. so. accidentally reveals way more about their own relationship to Gallifrey just because this companion keeps getting things almost right

-Ness is generally a pacifist

- Except Ness and William be fighting. All. The. Time.

-It got so bad that he ends up living with Coryx's character (We'll call him X for this AU) when he was around 13

-Vanessa followed him soon after. They don't keep in contact with William

-Neither of them know what really happened at Freddy's.

- Ness is his middle name. He hates his first name, even if you ask him about it he won't tell you.

- Ness first meets Mike while Vanessa was in the hospital (gotta figure out how much canon I want here)

-At first he goes into protective older brothee mode. Vanessa rarely brings anyone over (platonic or romantic) so Ness is suspicious at first.

-Once he realizes that they are just friends he notices that Mike is kinda cute.

- They exchange numbers (so Ness can update Mike on Vanessa's recovery obvi)
