Sir Chip!

Lore under the cut :3 (it's a lot)

Sir Chip Sweet (outside of KPP business known as Prince Chip) is the first born son of the princess of Kandyland, Sugaree Sweet. He was made with her life-bringing powers so he has no father. He was made specifically for his role as the kingdom's protector and leader of the KPP. He was also the first cookie ever designed for Kandyland and used as a loose blueprint for any other cookies. He grew up alongside the other members of the KPP and Lady Kandi Sugarose's twin brother, Taffee. Taffee was his best friend.

The most important day in his lore is his 10th birthday. During his party, he wanders off into the garden to play with a marshmallow rabbit. While playing with the animal, it jumps on him. That startles him and he accidently explodes it. (There was Life Sugar, their equivalent of blood, amd guts everywhere. Not a good thing for a 10 year old to see) Crying, he runs to his mother and grandfather and informs them of the situation. Surprisingly, The Confection King sees this as great news.

Thus, Chip's training begins. Using Candees as test subjects, The Confection King teaches Chip how to focus his power. Also, how to suppress it. Due to his power being closely tied to his emotions, suppressing the power ment suppressing his feelings. In a few months, Chip was handling executions at Kandy Castle.

Second important moment. Kandyland gets involved in a war. (How it started isn't important for the purposes of this post) Naturally, as the planet's Guardians, the KPP was on the front lines. And, wanting to help his sister, his best friend, and his girlfriend (who was Sundaie Skoopz), so was Taffee. After quite a bloody battle, Taffee suffered a major injury and tragically died at the ripe age of 18. This took quite the toll on everyone close to him. And, after the funeral, Sir Chip cried for the first time in 9 years.

Naturally, the death of his best friend sent him into a deep depression. This partnered with The Confection King's constant demands caused Sir Chip to suffer a mental breakdown which, due to his explosive abilities, stopped his heart. Luckily, his mother, with the help of her father, was able to save him. During his recovery, he was very often visited by Lady Kandi Sugarose. Under the pretense of "checking on her brother's friend." During this time, the two began to grow quite close and, in the following years, began a romantic relationship.

One day, The Confection King asks Chip to do some research on the (somewhat) legendary warrior Kirby. During his work, he learns about many others. Such as Galacta Knight, who the Confection King mentioned knowing before. But no one fascinated him as much as one.

That one was Meta Knight.

Meta Knight fascinated him. He always managed to remain somewhat illusive despite being so well known. One could say he became Meta Knight’s biggest fan.

This brings us to the Kandyland series. Being a fan of Meta Knight's, he was eager to take up an opportunity to duel him. However, Kirby ended up being his main issue. After being bested in combat, he very well expected to be killed.

But Kirby didn't kill him.

No, Kirby merely fixed Chip's wing and sent him to the infirmary. Kirby was something Sir Chip wasn't used to from an opponent.

He was merciful.

This brings us to post-Kandyland.

Kirby became quite good friends with the Sweet Family, including Chip. Being friends with Kirby also isn't anything Chip is used to. He doesn't do well with children due to his constant fear of hurting them. But he can't accidentally hurt Kirby. He enjoys the boy's company, though, Kirby always has a lot of energy. Being friends with Kirby also allowed to meet a lot of other people and get closer to Meta Knight.

Most recently, Sir Chip proposed to Lady Sugarose. Also making the couple's relationship public.

You know, simple thought that struck me yesterday but I didn't really have the specifics of what I wanted to say until this morning?

the whole KPP thing proves without a shadow of a doubt that so many people on this website would have gleefully become nazi's. Not because they're somehow racist, that's not the thing.

But because when they were given a meme and a target, they gleefully jumped into making a person's life hell, just for the fun of it, lifted up by the bullshit excuse that they were attacking a 'worthy' target.

They didn't have any knowledge of the situation, they didn't have context, they had an 'acceptable' target and a 'fun!' way of attacking them. And so they did it, without any prompting.

Without any profit, any threats against them, without anything to force their hands. They just attacked, for the pure joy of attacking, and considered themselves heroic in doing so.

And so many of them, I'm sure, will take this statement as harassment of THEM, for pointing out that they did no good thing in this.

It's just how Tumblr is.

The KPP ask game

What's that? Someone is outright asking me to dunk on Félix? Don't mind if I do.

Alya suffers from the same problem Luka does, except she actually gets more screen time and the writers keep up the illusion of utilizing her for longer. Alya has a lot of interesting building blocks that actually got used in the earlier seasons, like how her reporting is such a big motivator and a great way of getting her in the thick of things for the episode’s plot, and how her honest nature can be in conflict with her desire for the big scoop. She also has as much of a drive for justice as Marinette does, but she’s more balanced about it. The foundation is so solid, yet nothing really got built out of it.

I would have loved more focus on her reaction to getting to be an actual superhero, and on her relationships with her co-heroes. (Her and Nino getting to know each other’s secret identities in their second outing as heroes was such a wasted setup.) Alya has a lot of stuff going for her that didn’t get utilized properly, but that the fandom latched onto, fortunately.

Then she gets turned into the writers’ vehicle for reminding the audience that MARINETTE TOTALLY LOVES ADRIEN OKAY NO MATTER HOW MUCH SHE DENIES IT ALYA KNOWS THE TRUTH BECAUSE THE WRITERS DECIDED SHE KNOWS IT.

Hot take, even many Miraculous fans who don’t rag on Félix like I do think his characterization is inconsistent at best. This walking, talking plot device has no character, only roles the writers have him play, which is really weird for a show that at least tries to have consistent characterization and motives for every other character. With Félix they can’t even settle on whether or not he’s a villain, changing his motives to be more (arguably) altruistic every time he shows up. It’s weird they manage to be so consistent on this with Lila and Chloé, but Félix just veers straight from selling the kwamis into slavery (while apparently being a slave himself so his entire character is just slavery now) into being Kagami’s consolation prize love interest and knight in shining armor.

It’s hard to say how the story treats him, to be honest. Look, it’s not like canon tells a good story with him, but it’s not like he’s neglected or mistreated by the writers either, considering he gets more importance in the narrative of 'Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir' than CAT NOIR. He’s the writers’ pet, clear and simple, he always gets his way and gets away with things, but it’s never in the service of having him do anything really that interesting, specifically because there’s no reason the stuff Félix does has to be done by him specifically, because he never gets any repercussions. His role in any episode outside of his first appearance could be played by anyone or any other plot device.

He didn’t get beaten up enough in the show proper. I am willing to make the difference. Put them up, feather twerp.

I never said it was deep or anything. I just felt it was mildly annoying. I don’t get to go claim a blog with my name just because it’s my name. Especially as a small creator, nowhere near the size of phil. As you said he’s just some guy, why should he be treated special. Tumblr has a long history of canon urls being commodities (and this is a fandom where character names are linked with the creators themselves) and parody blogs are built into the culture here and like. It’s weird tumblr people can just. Swipe urls like that.

And like yeah, the op did just have one post (about having the url) on that blog as far as I can tell, and I think was hoarding other urls, but this might set a bad precedent for people who actually use those urls. People like tumblr user timedeo who actually use those blogs, not hoarding it, actively using it, will tumblr decide to swipe their urls?

we don’t know if phil asked them to do it, or if they got trigger happy about him posting about wanting the url, and I definitely don’t think like. Hate is justified or anything. The post I rbed said to not engage or block him if you were upset by it. And not to kpp him. That’s all it said.

Omg I realized I never talked about acen other than posting a few photos! I went there! First con ever actually. Unfortunately I hardly got to go to anything I actually wanted to go to but there was lots of cool stuff.

I’d love to go to all the voice acting stuff next year that I didn’t really know about this year. Also the KPP concert was super cool and everything Moe Shop played was absolute banger after banger. I would’ve absolutely loved to go to the raves. Also the late night panels. Definitely found out I was a night owl (I already knew this but was frequently reminded.)

The artist alley was really cool. I saw tons of prints I wanted but transporting them back to college doesn’t sound like it’d end well so I didn’t actually get any. I also didn’t see any lwa things so my wallet was pretty safe. The only thing I actually ended up buying was a Pikachu scrunchie. So like. I spent 8$ total on things. Definitely a win in my wallets eyes

Cosplay!!! Friday I did a closet cosplay of Misa which was super super comfortable. Sunday I did Croix and went to a no one’s cosplaying from my fandom meetup which was so so cool. I made a friend who was cosplaying Lotte!!! We met Thursday at a discord meetup and starting talking about lwa. So we were like ok we gotta do lwa at that photo shoot. Honestly one of the coolest experiences at the whole con. Absolutely loved meeting someone who cared about the show so much in person and also just had very very similar thoughts. And Friday.

Friday I did my hand made Lisa. And oh my god. That was just the coolest. I spent so so many hours working on that cosplay and in my eyes it was just never finished. But not to all the people I met! I got so so many compliments so many people asking to take my picture it was just the coolest thing. My hard work. Finally validated. It was so much fun having people come up to me like omg Lisa!!! Can I take your picture please?? Definitely would bring to another con. 1000%. Everyone was really really sweet. Very very happy the effort came through

Next time I go I will not be seeing mornings. I will be seeing raves and late night panels and voice acting and I look very much forward to it

IamGroot: Great way of reducing down potential interview candidates to a manageable number though I'd imagine.

Pronouns on the CV = straight to bin.

DS: My pronouns are fire/bomb/gun and all must be yelled to be properly inclusive.

ReWitched: It takes hours to reduce the pile of CVs to a manageable 8-10 to be interviewed in a single day, the max time managers can afford to take out of normal working. Anything to help reduce the pile is good, either pros (skills, experience, tone) or cons (difficult to work with?)

jyushimatsu - anything that falls into the 120-170 range, depending on if he's just jogging or going harder. he loves heavy drums, drum solos, etc, so i'd say he's probably a pop/rock fan? he doesnt really look too deep into the meanings of songs unless someone explains it to him, so he listens to some stuff thats pretty Out There, but tbh he's usually just running. I think part of the problem when discussing Cyberpunk in general and cybernetics in specific is that there are some very very deep questions that the idea raises. What makes a person a person, how much will changes to your body affect you psychologically? Is there a legitimate question of psychological disorders that might arise from the intentional removal of healthy tissue for non-organic replacements? At what point do you stop being a person and start being just a very structurally unsound CPU for a robot?

And then you ask those questions there's some jackass who feels obligated to jump in and say 'How dare you, that's my fetish there can be NOTHING wrong with the idea and you're a bigot for even asking if there could be!'

And I'm just left here going 'I legitimately don't care if you want to be Adrián Barbeaubot, I just want to ask these questions of the little mouse who's taken over the hollowed out spaces where your brain used to be and is now piloting your body like a meat mecha.'

'Is the reason why people do not see government run industry as a monopoly because they are presented as services instead' is a very interesting question and a valid one to be asked. Because jesus now that I think of it, that literally IS my perspective on things, that I do not object to the State doing certain things because they are 'services', that these are the tasks I hire the government to do, and ONLY want the government doing.

But honest to fuck that I had to do this journey of self-discovery all on my own because ancaps can't be fucking bothered to think past their own biases is a fucking trip.

You know, simple thought that struck me yesterday but I didn't really have the specifics of what I wanted to say until this morning?

the whole KPP thing proves without a shadow of a doubt that so many people on this website would have gleefully become nazi's. Not because they're somehow racist, that's not the thing.

But because when they were given a meme and a target, they gleefully jumped into making a person's life hell, just for the fun of it, lifted up by the bullshit excuse that they were attacking a 'worthy' target.

They didn't have any knowledge of the situation, they didn't have context, they had an 'acceptable' target and a 'fun!' way of attacking them. And so they did it, without any prompting.

Without any profit, any threats against them, without anything to force their hands. They just attacked, for the pure joy of attacking, and considered themselves heroic in doing so.

And so many of them, I'm sure, will take this statement as harassment of THEM, for pointing out that they did no good thing in this.

It's just how Tumblr is.
