Bimbo Superstar!!
Warnings: Stalking, manipulation, perversion, icky themes, age gap (reader isn't a minor guys), reader a straight bimbo, possessiveness, death threats, obsession, mentions of him getting off to you, getting dirty in the kitchen, non con, threats,
A/N: I made reader such a big bimbo but to be fair I was listening to literally every Ayesha Erotica song while writing this- I mean, have you heard 'I love you down'?! 'Dicktator'?!
Tumblr media
You were famous, a superstar who stared in various movies, regardless of what they were about. romance, horror, crime, anything you get offered, you star in. Being a superstar meant having a large fanbase, some people idolizing you and others getting off to you. Not like you ever paid attention to the more dark side of your fanbase, you could care less about them.
In the eyes of the public, you were a little bit dumb, that's what they found most endearing about you. The way you always did risky things, the way you misunderstood comments people write about you and the way you would get all excited about childish shows or toys. Typically, fans would call you a 'bimbo'- not like you knew what that meant which only proved their point.
While out in public, you got stopped a lot by people asking for a photo or to get an autographed signed, some even asked for their face to be signed. One guy though caught your attention, he had accidently bumped into you but didn't apologize, instead he glanced at you with this grumpy look on his face. You were quick to apologize with a grin, assuming he's look less aggravated if you smiled at him. That did work usually.
Apparently not this time though because he just walked past you with no further words. You pouted and looked behind you, slightly offended he acted so nonchalantly. Weren't people supposed to get excited when you give them even a shred of affection? Why did this guy completely blow you off? You let out an upset little 'hmph' before turning back around and walking away.
You walked all the way home with a frown on your face, upset somebody had ignored you. You were pretty greedy for affection so even one person ignoring you was enough to upset you. The moment you arrived home you went to the bathroom, deciding to take a nice warm shower to cheer yourself up slightly. After taking off your clothes, you left them on a small stool which was next to the rail where your towel was thrown over. Unbeknownst to you, that guy you bumped into was anything but some grumpy old man. He bumped into you on purpose just so he could place a small mic in your pocket to hear your every move.
He practically ran home after bumping into you to boot up his laptop and listen to you with the microphone. He was obsessed with you. You were so pretty, so naive, so easy to mold into his perfect little girl. He just needed to know what made you tick so he could make you believe he was your soulmate. You were going to be dependent on him, he would make sure of that.
He monitored you for days, learning so much about you. He knew you like to sing in the shower, he knew you blasted the most bizarre music, he knew you were easily spooked, and he knew you usually had pasta for dinner, cereal in the morning, unhealthy snacks every hour in between. Of course, it wasn't enough. He needed to know more but he couldn't just keep listening, he'd never get satisfactory results that way. He needed to get closer so he decided to check your socials and find out when your next meet and greet was. He was glad you were famous, it made it that much easier to know your every move.
Thankfully for him, you had a meet and greet today. 'What luck, huh?' he thought to himself. He didn't need a ticket to get in, he just needed to wait outside the venue after it was over and then follow you home. God, it made him hard just thinking about stalking you home, getting to watch you sleep, even shower if he could. It would be so much better to jack off to you showering rather than searching some image of you on google and trying to get off to that. He couldn't wait.
He'd never gotten up so quick to get out of his apartment and head to the location, he didn't need to be early but it wouldn't hurt, right? Maybe he could take a few photos, even a video but that's mostly so he can zoom into your cleavage and see if he can get a little peak at what you're carrying. His phone was at 13 percent but he could give less fucks about that, he knows the photos he get would be sexy, your stupidity was such a turn on for him.
He walked to the venue, glad it wasn't far from his place because then he wouldn't have to tire himself out. He was still old after all, he wasn't keen to walk for over an hour. When he did make it, he walked around the outside looking for a side entrance to sneak into. Luck had to be on his side because he found exactly what he was looking for. He snuck in quietly to avoid drawing any attention to him. He had his phone in his pocket and his hand was clenched in a fist like he was ready to punch anyone who saw him.
You were currently sitting at a table signing autograph after autograph and receiving so many cute gifts from your fans- most of them being plushies to add to your already large plushie collection. You always smiled and giggled whenever they would compliment you, regardless of the meaning of the compliment.
Leon kept his eyes on you from the side, watching your movements and the expressive reactions you made every time someone spoke even just one word. He couldn't help but to wonder how expressive he could make you. Fuck, he'd pay good money just to fuck you one time- he had this image of you that you'd be a whiny little slut who would let him do anything as long as he complimented you. He'd love to grab those tits of yours, maybe finger your pussy and make you cum over and over for hours just on his fingers alone.
His thoughts got him through the next hour and his heart rate picked up when your little meet and greet was over. He got so excited at the idea of stalking you home just to watch your pretty little face when you sleep. He was also glad because he was sick of seeing other old men stare at you with sexual intent- only he could do that.
You gave the gifts you collected to some people and told them to deliver all of it to your house tomorrow. You wanted some time to clean up your collection of gifts before you added more to it. You had a grin on your face as you went to leave the venue, not through the main entrance but through the side entrance where Leon was. Leon wasn't sure what the fuck to do now. You were heading right towards him and it would be suspicious if he started running. He'd just have to play it off and act like he's allowed to be here. He was sure he could trick you, you weren't the smartest after all.
When you came closer, you noticed him and got excited. You recognized him from a few days ago as the old guy that ignored you. Seeing him here gave you hope that maybe he only ignored you yesterday because he was shy. You hoped if you acted friendly he would open up more and give you some affection so you went towards him, ready to make him super comfortable.
"Hi!! What are you doing back here?? Did you want to say hi to me?? You don't have to be shy, I love my fans!!" You say and Leon feels his cock strain against his pants. The look on your face made him hard for some strange reason. Maybe it was the way he could tell you were fishing for compliments, practically begging with those eyes- begging him.
"Guilty as charged, sweetheart. Just a little shy to talk to someone with such a pretty face," he says with a small smirk. The blush that grew on your face would forever be imprinted in his mind. The giggle that came with it would be too. He was glad it was easy to please you, it just meant it was easy to get you in bed too. Maybe if he lied he could trick you quicker. Maybe he should pretend he's famous or rich, that would get you to submit quick, right?
"Since you're talking to me now, you don't mind if i get an autograph, do you? I might be a big shot but that doesn't mean I don't want special things from dolls like yourself," he speaks, lying right through his teeth. He could tell you believed the lie about him being a bigshot by the way you tilted your head with a curious look.
"You're famous too?" you ask with excitement growing in your stomach. You loved meeting other famous people because you normally could relate to them and hold conversations for hours. When Leon nodded his head, you let out a squeal and took his hand while starting to drag him out of the venue. "We should talk over dessert!! I love finding other famous people!!" You say while marching ahead of him. He was surprised you were so trusting, surprised you hadn't been kidnapped yet. He followed behind you with a smirk, glad he didn't have to stalk you. You'd probably invite him to your house, let him stay the night. Not like he'd actually sleep, no, he'd do much worse.
"You know a place?" he asked, keeping up his friendly persona so you would stick by him. You nodded your head and started to go on a rant about the dessert place claiming that the sweets there were 'so delicious' and 'so cute too!!'. You even pulled your phone out and started showing him photos you had taken of the place and the food. He wasn't really paying attention to what you were saying though. He was thinking about what he'd do to you once he had you alone. Could you blame him? He was just a man.
"If you don't have a sweet tooth, they have some savory foods too," you say while turning your phone off and putting it in your small little bag. "That's good, I'm old so I don't have much of a sweet tooth now," Leon says and you shake your head in disapproval with a pout on your lips. "No ones ever too old for dessert!" you retaliate while looking back at him. He lets out an amused huff as he gives your hand a light squeeze.
"mm.. sure, doll," he says and he notices the way you glance away and smile a little at the pet name. You were real easy, huh? Giggling just because he called you doll. He might as well trash the plan he made to mold you to be the perfect pet, seems he didn't need the complex steps after all. "How far away is this place anyway?" he asks, he didn't care how far away it was- he was just trying keep the conversation going to keep you interested.
"Not that far- It should be round this corner!" You say while picking up the pace, evidently excited to eat dessert and please your sweet tooth. When the store came into view, Leon wasn't surprised to see how pink it was. Of course you'd love a place that's pink and sells desserts, it was so you. "a little pink, don't you think?" he said sarcastically and you giggled again. "It's so pretty though!!" you respond as you two enter the dessert cafe.
You two take a seat and a waitress comes up to you quickly with an excitable greeting, almost matching your energy. You clearly were a regular here since the waitress started up a conversation while giving you two the menus. She even offered a very generous discount on everything. Leon let you two chit chat while he scanned the menu. There were various sweet foods like matcha crepe cakes, custard pudding, tiramisu, pancakes, dango, swiss rolls- everything was very unhealthy. The drinks were somehow just as unhealthy as the desserts. Thankfully, there were savory foods like you said there were.
Once the lady stopped talking, you both ordered what you wanted and started talking. Leon wasn't much of a talker but you definitely were. You didn't stop talking about things you were obsessed with, some would think you're self-centered, Leon thinks he'd want to shut you up. He'd get his chance soon, he was sure. He just sat there listening to you, occasionally saying something and making sure to call you pretty or cute, just to butter you up. When the time came where you had both finished eating, you offered to let him come over- just as he wanted.
"Sure, why not?" he responded, acting like he had no opinion on the matter and not like he wanted to go to your house in the first place. Just to seem like more of a gentleman, he paid for the entire meal, not even asking if you wanted him too. You seemed to like that because you thanked him quite a few times. On the walk home, Leon had his mind on one thing, you. Not like you haven't been on his mind the whole time he'd been around you.
He wasn't surprised when he saw a mansion, of course you'd have a giant house. He was sure you probably didn't even buy the place yourself, one of your loyal fans probably did. "How's someone small like you living in a place this big?" Leon asks teasingly while glancing down at you. You unlocked the door with a small huff as you pout.
"I'm not small," you say while stepping in and taking your shoes off. Leon found it ironic because you were infinitely smaller to him. Something he could use and abuse with no consequences. He walked in behind you and followed as you led him to the kitchen. "Are you still hungry or thirsty?" you asked while opening basically every cabinet in the kitchen and scrambling to grab a bunch of fruit.
"I'm all good, baby," he says in response while watching you with amusement. "Aren't you full from earlier?" he asked with a subtle tilt of his head. He's surprised how quick you were to take food out of the fridge despite having eaten so much not so long ago. "Well, I need to balance out all the sugar with fruit so I don't have to go to the dentist anytime soon," you respond while grabbing a knife and a cutting board.
Leon laughed a little but didn't say anything in response. He just silently watched you cut up fruits and organize them into their own categories, occasionally eating a few instead of putting them in their bowls. "You don't mind, do you?" Leon asks, while reaching towards one of the bowls. He knew you wouldn't care but he was just asking to appear nice. You shake your head, the grin forming on your face again as he took the fruit and ate it slowly.
If Leon was being honest, he was starting to get impatient. He knows it's barely been two hours since you two started talking but he needed to fuck you so bad. He had been waiting years for this moment and he didn't think he could keep this act up. He was starting to wonder if he should just force himself upon you. You wouldn't be able to stop him anyway, he was much stronger than you. He knew his thoughts were disgusting and that he'd probably get locked away in a mental institution because prison wouldn't be enough.
'Fuck it,' is all he thought before he grabbed your face with one hand and kissed you. You were caught off guard and tried to pull away but he didn't let you. He took the knife away and threw it across the room so you couldn't try attack him to defend yourself. When he pulled away from the kiss you immediately yelled at him.
"What the hell are you doing!!" you say and he rolls his eyes and scowls. "Treating myself," he says before kissing you again, much to your discomfort. His hand slipped under your shirt and trailed it's way up to your tits. He'd been waiting for this moment, to finally feel you with his own hands. You continued to try struggle out of his hold, not wanting this old man to fuck you in your kitchen.
"Keep struggling and I'll punch you," he says in between the kisses as he squeezes your tits which cause a noise of discomfort to escape your lips. He slips his hand back out your shirt before taking it off in a rush and leaving it on the counter. Without a word he leans down and starts leaving kisses on your neck. Both his hands slip down to your thighs as he lifts you up on to the counter top. He then slips one of his hands under your skirt and tugs your panties to the side. With his other hand, he unbuckled his belt and pulled his pants down to his knees.
"can't wait to fuck this cute lil' pussy. You're gonna let me, right?" He asks but he's definitely not giving you an option to say no. He was mocking you and your lack of free will with the illusion of choice. You shut your eyes when you feel him start to push inside you without a second thought. The sudden intrusion causes a loud yelp to leave your lips but it's quickly followed by more sounds when he starts thrusting at a brutal pace. He's hitting all the right places and it feels way to fucking good but you also don't want this. Why must your body react in such a way?
Your back arches as your hands find their way to his shoulders, gripping onto them so hard it's leaving marks. "Fuck, your tight. Do you like this? Like getting- hng- raped by an old man?" He speaks while forcing your back onto the counter and raising your legs so he can get even deeper. Upon hearing his question, you shake your head to try hold any amount of sanity you have. His response was to let out a low laugh, sounding like he finds it amusing how afraid you are. "I'm gonna cum and impregnate you with my children so we can be together forever and I can fuck you every single day. Bet you'd like that you fucking whore," He speaks.
Your eyes widen when he speaks and your fight or flight instincts kick in again. You try slide away but he pulls you right back down and it hurts so bad because it felt like he was about to tear your womb open. "Bad fucking idea," he says before pulling out and grabbing you by the hair before turning you around and forcing you to lay your stomach on the counter. He thrusts in again, quick and hard to make sure he fucks you dumb.
"Almost there.. can't wait to breed this pussy every single day," he mumbles, now just talking to himself and saying how lucky he is. With a drawn out 'Fuck', he releases his seed as deep as possible. In all honesty, he did feel a little bad so he thought what better way to make up for that and let you cum too? He started thrusting again and you were not expecting him to do so. You let out whimpers and whines before you finally had a mind boggling orgasm. He pulled out slowly and let go of you, making you sink to the floor in exhaustion.
You couldn't think straight at all, your brain was in shambles as you tried to bring yourself back down to earth after what Leon had done to you. The only thing you could process was Leon's voice which sounded threatening and made you want to run far away.
"If you tell anyone about this, it'll get worse. No one would ever believe you anyway. You are just a stupid little girl after all,"

Taylor Swift Eras themed Legacy Challenge
i wanted to put together two of my favorite things: the sims and Taylor Swift. so i came up with this 10 generation legacy challenge in which each generation is inspired by a different album. I created this challenge for the sims 2 ultimate collection since that is the game i normally play, but i am sure it can be adapted for sims 3 or sims 4. i also implemented the traits project for ts2 but you can easily do the challenge without it using different personality points. i set up this challenge so that each generation alternates genders but you can switch that up. i also chose first names for each generation based on references of the album. also some of the writing is very cheesy and has a lot of references because why not go crazy. this is my first legacy challenge so if you have any critiques let me know. the rules are not strict and cheats can be used as its a story-based challenge.
Debut- Gen 1: Mary
“Take me home where we met so many years before.
We'll rock our babies on that very front porch: After all this time, you and I”
You grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. Your parents never had the greatest relationship and your mom was always with her best friend. Since birth you and her kid have been inseparable. Will you fall into the same patterns as your parents…or will you find a place in this world?
family/romance
LTW: reach golden anniversary
nurturing, jealous, loves the outdoors, great kisser, family oriented
marry your first love
have 2 children (at least one son)
formal wear is a little black dress
Fearless- Gen 2: Stephen
“You played in bars, you play guitar
I'm invisible and everyone knows who you are”
Your parents raised you well but something about the fact that they only ever knew each other scares you. You want to get out there and make a name for yourself. You know no ones coming for you on their white horse. You’ll have to be fearless to become a superstar: but for now all you have is your mothers eyes and her old guitar.
fortune/pleasure
virtuoso, charismatic, irresistible, ambitious, non-committal
LTW: become rock god
go on at least 5 first dates
have at least one daughter
date a fan
Speak now- Gen 3: Emma
“When Emma falls apart, it's when she's alone
She takes on the pain and bears it on her own”
You often felt overlooked by your rockstar father. He was always busy and you spent most of your time with your mother until her mysterious disappearance. You feel like you grew up too fast, and now you love to travel back to your youth and fantasize about castles and dragons. So you become an actress; a character. Will you break out of your fathers famously destructive patterns, or will you regain your balance on the tightrope and break out before fire can catch you?
popularity/romance
LTW: Become Icon
natural born performer, childish, bookworm, shy, hopeless romantic
your first love doesn't work out/ you break their heart
have at least one son
have a strained relationship with your father but a good relationship with your mother
meet your true love at a party and then never see eachother again
Red- Gen 4: Bobby
“How you took the money and your dignity, and got the hell out
They say you bought a bunch of land somewhere
Chose the rose garden over Madison Square”
You grew up in the starlight of your mothers fame. You two were always close but after suffering from the tabloids and the camera flashes you decide this life is not for you. You move out of the Angel City and start anew. Your mother has given you some funds and you build up a family home. You tell everyone you left because the city wasn’t right for you… but maybe it was partly to run from your playboy/girl ex who you know was trouble. Now you spend your life painting and searching for your muse. Will you stay paralyzed by time or finally begin again?
Knowledge/family
LTW: become visionary
artistic, eco friendly, night owl, loves the cold, loner
Have an on and off toxic relationship
Move out of your parents house
Settle down with someone nice
Have 3 children (at least one girl)
1989- Gen 5: Love
“You searched the world for somethin' else
To make you feel like what we had
And in the end, in Wonderland, we both went mad”
You grew up secluded from the world, surrounded by your mothers paintings. Your mom loved the environment but you couldn’t wait to get out of the woods and explore new places. Somewhere along the road, you fell into a rabbit hole of insanity: mascara running in the bathroom and rose gardens filled with thorns. You blow money and string lovers along. You have fantastic delusions until your wildest dreams turn into nightmares. Will you accept the help from your family and abandon your affinity for screaming, crying and perfect storms? Or will every day continue to be a battle?
knowledge/pleasure
LTW: Become space pirate
Insane, unstable, diva, adventurous, jealous
Join the adventurer career
Have 3 loves at once
Have children with multiple people (one must be boy/girl twins)
Lose money in poker
Reputation- Gen 6: Burton (the name is so bad help)
“I don't like your kingdom keys
They once belonged to me
You asked me for a place to sleep
Locked me out and threw a feast”
Yeah, your mother may have done a number on you, but who's counting? Maybe your twin sister… Everything you did, she just had to do better. In the wake of your mother’s madness, you turned to dancing. You found peace in swaying as the room burnt down. Your twin sister on the other hand hated how you were lit up every room you walked into, but you couldn’t help it. There's nothing she hates more than what she can't have… so she turned to sabotage. Just when you think that your life is perfect- you're at the top of your career and you finally found love- your sister starts a rumor that you cheated on your love. Your reputation as a famous dancer goes down in seconds. But to your surprise, your lover isn't reading what they call you lately and your relationship is stronger than ever. Will you get revenge on your sister and become exactly what you despise, or sit back and let karma take over?
Popularity/romance
LTW: Become world class ballerina
Party animal, irresistible, social butterfly, hot headed, unlucky
Be enemies with your twin sister
Never be unfaithful
Have a bad reputation
Have at least one daughter
Lover- Gen 7: Cornelia
“I’d be a fearless leader, I'd be an alpha type
When everyone believes ya, what's that like?”
You've always known you wanted to change the world. Who cares if you were overlooked and discouraged. Snakes and stones won’t break your bones. You never had a big family as your father walked away from his. Sometimes it gets lonely trusting the wicked, and your loyalty was often a fault. You turn to politics to combat your feelings of helplessness, but no one takes you seriously and you feel lost in the light. You have to start from the ground up with the help of your best friend. You start to build your picture-perfect life: the kids, the lyrical smiles and the power. Will you drive away your lover by searching for their dark side, or will you put aside your ways and find the daylight?
Popularity/family
LTW: Become mayor
Good, easily impressed, brave, unlucky, perfectionist
Fall in love with your best friend
Have 10 best friends
Have children (at least one son)
Folklore- Gen 8: James
“I had the shiniest wheels, now they're rusting
I didn't know if you'd care if I came back
I have a lot of regrets about that”
You grew up trying to meet the expectations of your politician mother. Everything had to be picture perfect, even your private life. So she set you up with the daughter of one of the most powerful families in town, Betty. At first you are skeptical, but over time you fall for her integrity and affinity for old cardigans. Along the way you begin to feel stuck, tired of the sensual politics and your mother’s watchful eye. That's when you meet August -the polar opposite of Betty- and some part of you has to know what she is like. You meet in parking lots and dive bars, but after Betty finds out, you realize that summer is dwindling. In wake of losing two girls, you turn to writing: poetry and sad prose. You get lost in your stories, but once you start to gain traction, you can’t help but wonder how different your life could have been. Will you rekindle your wild flame with August or go back to the peace you felt with Betty?

Have at least one daughter with her
Evermore- Gen 9: Ivy
“And the skeletons in both our closets
Plotted hard to fuck this up
And the old men that I’ve swindled
Really did believe I was the one”
You always resented your father because he abandoned the good life for a cottage in the woods and his stories. You don’t want that; you want power and wealth. You don't need love, just a fancy car. So you turn to crime, because it’s easy for you; you love the gold rush. You con men and no one will ever prove it. You marry rich men and inherit their money when their time runs out. But then one day you meet your match, a fellow criminal, and wonder if this life will really bring you happiness. But you realized this a little too late, and now you're forced to drink your husband's wine… but he was the wrong guy. Will you leave the life of crime behind or will you stay frozen in time?

“And I don't dress for villains
Or for innocents
I'm on my vigilante shit again”
You knew your mom wasn’t the most ethically-correct person. You like to think you inherited her better half; but that isn’t entirely true. You are determined to be different, so you become a spy; you get the satisfaction of working for the good guys and the pleasure that comes with great wars. Being a spy is difficult though, and you never know when things could go wrong. You are constantly burning files and deserting old lives. But you’re a mastermind, nobody can deny that. You finally meet your perfect person, but it's hard concealing your true occupation from them. You have money and respect… But can all of that pay for someone to just know you?

CPN : XZS chapter 5 vlog sugar 🍭
Tumblr media
the magic number 5 and the long awaited euro trip vlog uploaded on a thursday, because thursday is a good day to meet you. 💕
here are some sweet treats for you. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
⋇⋆✦⋆⋇ ⋇⋆✦⋆⋇
* The upbeat song that was being played during the photoshoot montage is called you so done by noga erez. turtles are all over this track because of a certain line : What's a queen to a joker? Tell me.
Before i proceed, i just wanna disclaimer that this candy is not for everyone. especially since it assigns ZZ as a “queen” and is connected to the common representation of ZZ as the “feminine” one in their relationship. i mostly see it with c-turtles but also quiet prevalent in international fans— probably cause they were influenced by c-fans. So if you are looking at reactions by c-turtles at the time of MFW, aside from comments that he looks perfect and was given the superstar treatment, you will also see ones that mention ZZ as royalty. kinda like princess/queen, and it doesn’t help that he has all those bodyguards following him around. I’m pretty sure ZZ and his team are so busy enjoying their Milan trip to spend their time scrolling through weibo but who knows. Maybe they saw those.
youtube
Tumblr media
and we all know who the joker is — Yibo. you don’t even have to be a cpf to be familiar with this love for that character. actually, they both do. so in this case, fans are loving the song choice because it ( sort of ) represents them as the queen & a joker. 🃏
* Looks familiar again! 👀
Tumblr media
* The same pose. I know this might just be ZZ feeling himself ( as he should ) and it’s a good angle on him but we can’t help but relate it to Mister Ye’s scene. It’s one scene that has been going around and i have to say, it will really capture your attention. Is this ZZ channeling WYB again?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
* 4 years apart, in Rome and caught looking at their phones. WYB’s was much more sus because that photos is from a video and then he smiles sweetly after then goes home to record Wuji with ZZ. I just wish they can have a vacation abroad together and be incognito. I’m pretty sure ZZ is sending him all the photos and videos ( and we will get some leftovers for sure ).
Tumblr media
it’s so cute how there is a proper vlogging camera following him around but he is still using his phone non stop. taking personal memories. ☺️
* In line with the thought that there are no random frames in an XZS vlog, I will be adding this to the list. I just think that the background and what they show is really intentional, this is coming from the same production who sometimes censors things. so i think GG captured with this background is there for a reason.
Tumblr media
the “have a nice day” is probably a message to people watching his vlog — a sweet message. and then that guy, his hand gesture looks like an 8 and ♾️. seeing this doesn’t help because we’ve been talking about infinity for the past days and this shows up.

Did you hear Zayn’s interview? He pretty much confirmed Harry is a fucking liar and a gaslighter. He foiled old man queerbaiter’s solo plans. That’s why he haaates Zayn so much because he stole the spotlight on getting to be the first one to go solo. Harry was stringing the others along about the “break” until he secured the bag with the Azoffs. The others albeit trusted Harry reluctantly but Zayn knew better.
This makes me laugh at the fans who kept telling other fans to believe in Harry like he’s Jesus Christ or something because he was going to save the others from Syco and that’s why he would go on so many solo meetings with the Azoffs and Sony execs. The geniuses still couldn’t figure out that it was his plan all along to ditch Liam, Louis, and Niall. Not even when he cried and was all boohoo, he’s so grateful. He was bitching that he could now sing all the words of the entire song. He was being oppressed because giving Niall or Louis 3 words of a line was too much for his ego. 👀 🥴
the larries have essentially created harry's entire narrative and mythology.
the nice guy trying to save the band. the nice guy who couldn't hang out with the others because he was forced. the nice guy forced to date all these women and be perceived as a total fuckboy to help louis and the others. even now they act like he's oppressed for scheduling millions of tours and charging the fans thousands for it with his shitty ugly merch and products, when it's all his choice to milk them dry.
but with the larries creating his queer legacy and his non toxic masculinity idea of himself projected by them, he's been protected for years. the fans refused to believe he was ditching the band for years until he did. they claimed none of the band were signed with their labels and were all "independent" which was bullshit, to help protect harry.
all along he's been scamming them all, manipulating everyone and just trying to scheme his way into being a superstar. karma is justified in snatching off his hair follicles and giving him the face of a grandpa and the acting ability of his iCarly debut.

top watches for september
from this month:
will ospreay vs naomichi marufuji, noah naomichi marufuji debut 25th anniversary show 09/17 — not only my favorite match of the month but my most anticipated one as well! i think it's always interesting to see ospreay be taken out of his usual pace and perform with more breathing room between spots (even if his snappier sequences are what drew me in initially). there are a lot of quiet moments in this match, mixed with that devoted eagerness that ospreay had while he was a junior. it's also a match that is able to tap into something very special thanks to the emotional padding behind it that i think ospreay's other big match from this month (vs yota tsuji) is unable to match
syuri vs mayu iwatani, stardom 5star grand prix day 14 09/03 — syuri is my favorite joshi to watch currently! she wrestles such a loud, hard-hitting style that still feels fresh in the technical scene and she has great in-ring chemistry with mayu here. mayu's reversal of the syu-sekai though... gah! a relatively short match and one of my favorites from the entire gp
bryan danielson vs ricky starks, no disqualification strap match, aew all out 09/03 — the singular non-puro match on this list, which should already give you an idea of how truly great it is. ricky has been a highlight on collision pretty much since it began airing, and the natural charisma that shined through there is ever-present in his recent matches. bloody, brutal, and better than the follow-up texas death rematch in terms of cohesion
zack sabre jr. vs ryohei oiwa, njpw road to destruction 09/08 — i was ecstatic to have boltin oleg in a high-profile match! ...and then it didn't happen. but worry not! oiwa stole the show. it definitely didn't feel as one-sided as it would've if it was oiwa pre-excursion pitted against zack. excited to see more from him
takayuki ueki vs baliyan akki, baka gaijin + friends vol. 8 09/20 — the mad doctor takes on akki, returning superstar of the show, after mecha mummy fails to drill a hole through harashima and is subsequently defeated. it's as silly as it sounds
back catalogue:
shinsuke nakamura vs the great muta, noah the new year 2023 — positively overwhelming presentation in terms of the entrances. misting as a metaphor for relatedness rather than corruption. unstoppable force meets immovable object, up until the object embraces the force. a sentimental finish that stuck with me
katsuyori shibata vs kazuchika okada, njpw sakura genesis 2017 — a holistically tactile bout full of sweaty contact and undying resolve. okada finds himself in the rare predicament of not being the fan favorite! practically impossible to look away during this one
pheromones (danshoku dieno & yuki iino) & shunma katsumata vs akito, kazuki hirata & yuya koroku, ddt sweet dreams! 2023 tour in shinjuku ~ fire! ~ — a typical pheromones match in that it contains loads of their trademark spots (synchronized striptease routines, dramatic jockstrap reveals, "accidental" ass to mouth action) however! this time shunma is there to act as their pup (which he is very much into). a must-watch for fans of public kink in wrestling
atsushi onita vs hayabusa, no ropes barbed wire current mine explosion time bomb deathmatch, fmw 6th anniversary show 1995 — hayabusa comes off as a trapped animal within onita’s environment, only delaying the inevitable with each move. feels and looks like a horror movie, with the counter droning on in the first half and the smoke wafting through the cage of barbed wire in the second. explosions galore!
shotaro ashino vs koji doi, wrestle-1 grand prix 2018 finals — this was my first exposure to ashino and let me tell you... he's so good. his entrance is fuel by metallica, he's cocky, he goes hard in the ring. i'm genuinely shocked he's not a bigger name internationally. nothing too extravagant aside from a few high-impact spots but worth a watch

Note
I wonder if the fans behaviour has sort of turned Edvin off from an international career since from what I can see most of the discussion about his relationship, hair, body etc id written in English and not in Swedish. Not that swedish people can’t leave creepy comments but you also don’t see any pics from fans meeting him when he’s out and about here in Sweden. Sure it’s cool that people from other countries care about something Swedish but we also have a very different celebrity culture and they really aren’t superstars. Edvin is really just a guy. Point is everyone needs to chill and be nice and treat others like you would want to be treated yourself and I’m just gonna assume most people wouldn’t want to be treated the way the ”fans” treat Edvin.
No I don't think so. If anyhting he will just become less and less active on social media.
And while I think more non Swedish fans write these kind of things we need to remember that one: most fans are not swedish and two: most fans write in English on social media.
But yes the culture is very different and most big actors are pretty lowkey. You don't approach celebs on the streets and you don't take creepy pictures of them when they "don't see". That being said, there were plenty of fans from Sweden who met him several times and waited for him when they knew he would be somewhere but that was mostly in the beginning.

Hang Around For Scooby Doo: SD Ghoul School Review (Comission for Emma Fici)
Tumblr media
Happy Halloween all you happy people! Our halloween stuff rolls on as I introduce a new not at all consitent series on this blog, Hang Around For Scooby Doo! This probably won't be a monthly thing like my muppets reviews, but it will be fun.
See over a year and a half ago my good friend @jess-the-vampire and I started having movie nights every Tuesday and Wedsday on her nights off. It was during this we found a mutual love of Scooby Doo, both having grown up with it despite being a generation apart. So when she told me about a Scooby Doo film where Scooby goes into space in a trek inspired heavily by BioShock and alien, how could I say no? The film was Moon Monster Madness, and I shall cover it some day. Finding out i'd missed films like this made me curious: I'd grown up with the DTV scooby movies, even watching them into high school on sick days or summer days as CN played them a lot, but after Chill Out, Scooby Doo, they stopped playing them as much, and I stopped seeing them as a result.
So in over a year and a half we watched and re-watched ALLL OF THEM. No hyperbole. We watched the greats, we found hidden gems and we also suffered through Return To Zombie Island and Fred's weird singing voice in the somehow boring vampire musical. And once we were done… we kept going and have been watching some Scooby doo ever so often since. We watch other stuff sure, it's how I got sucked down the Miraculous Ladybug Hole, but it's built on a foundation of Scooby Doo
And of course watching entirely too much Scooby Doo has given me a MASIVE repository of review material yet untapped. From weird individual episodes like Shaggy becoming king of the goths, Fred's ass terrifying everyone, One of NSYNC framing the Gang for crimes, Shaggy nearly being drowned for being a witch or a rejected skeletor minion haunting a 70's dude at Wimbledon. IT's a weird wonderful buffet and since my good friend Emma commissioned this from me, we got a great place to start digging in Shaggy style so Hang Around after the Read More for Scooby Doo: Ghoul School!
The history for this one is interesting, as this flim happens to be part of another small project I've intended to start for a while: an on and off look at the Superstar 10, 10 films packaged for Hanna Barbera's funtastic world of hannaa barbera saturday morning block. Even if you haven't heard of them, you may of seen some as all three red shirt shaggy films as well as Flintstones Meet the Jetsons are part of it, and cartoon network tended to air them a lot growing up as they filled up time nicely. Why the others weren't used, especially since one of Yogi Bear's other films, his wonderful christmas special, was aired every year…
Tumblr media
But the non-scooby ones are only avaliable via Warner Archives, so i'm curoius to see what hiden gems and things that are better off locked in the archives lie in wait, so once again while this review is paid for, it's something that was inevitble.
The Superstar Ten Trilogy of Scooby Films is highly notable for being the first Scooby Doo films, the ones that likely gave the crew of Zombie Island to try one for the DTV market as unsuprisingly these three had vhs' (and I had one for the reluctant werewolf. Wish I still did. It was sweet. ). These films paved the way for us to have almost 50 MORE after them.
This trilogy is also intresting for when it was made: coming out in the mid 80's, this was around the same time as 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo, The New Scooby Doo shows and others that largely broke from formula with Fred and Velma largely put on a bus , leaving the gang just Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne.. Scrappy
Tumblr media
And their bitching van. Despite the show before it being the bane of many fans at the times existence, the Daphne and Shaggy era shows are well regarded and I hope to binge 13 ghosts at some point as it sounds utterly awesome. Weirdly though despite Scrappy's wide backlash he wasn't the team member to get dumped for these movies, with the trio instead being reduced to just Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy. Now…
Tumblr media
Scrappy.. really isn't that annoying here. He still has his traits of running at danger and being Scooby's Hype Dog, but he's also fairly intelligent, helpful and functions as a replacement Fred without being nearly as bland as pre-Zombie Island Fred Jones. I mean he can't say treasure that special way
youtube
But he still does well. It's why i'm really baffled at how Scrappy's been reduced to either not existing anymore (Curse of the 13th ghost) or a hilarious joke not to be talked about (Mystery Incorpeated): yes he's widely hated but you can do stuff with him as seen with the 2001 Movie and Scooby Apocalypse. And you can do stuff with him as is. I will always be in favor of fixing a character if possible instead of just tossing them aside because it's supposedly what people want, something I doubt will change for poor Scrappy as Warner Bros Discovery has shown it doesn't care what anyone wants, needs or feels.
The Red Shirt Trilogy is also notable for being one of the biggest examples of real monsters in the franchise. As I found out via Billiam's videos these weren't the first time this happened, but it became one of the most memorable, both due to these films getting replayed more often than the scrappy era shows, and because of the neat designs, memorable characters, and all three breaking from the mystery of the week format. Sure there is an unmasking in Boo Brothers, but instead of trying to figure out whose haunting them the Red Shirt trilogy focuses on different genres each time: Reluctant Werewolf is a very mild Horror Comedy that turns into Wacky Races, and our feature presentation today being a slice of life school based story that turns into an adventure film in the last act. It shows just how flexible Scooby Doo is and why it's lasted so long: You can do a LOT with these characters, whether there's a mystery or not and new writers never stop coming or having new ideas to bring to the table. While it was a surprise, it wasn't hugely shocking to find out the writer of this one, Glenn Leopold, went on to write the first three dtv scooby doo movies, all very different. It does surprise me he wrote the godawful and boring Scooby-Doo! in Arabian Nights, but I forgive him.
So with that we can actually get to the movie itself which as I said is a shockingly chill for most of it's runtime slice of life comedy: Shaggy, Scooby and Scrappy are heading to Grimwood's School for Girls to become the new gym teachers. Some of you less familiar with Scooby Doo may laugh, but keep in mind both Scooby and Shaggy are storied Laugh-A-Lympics trained athletes, their team the Scoobie Doobies having won a mind boggling 14 out of 24 games in this storied contest, and Shaggy would later participate in the World Invitational Games. Their more than qualified. Scrappy is there because I assume Scooby just adopted him at some point becaues having scrappy for a child did this to a his mother
Tumblr media
So she had to pass the curse on to someone. Naturally things can't ever be easy for our heroes and they find out that while Miss Grimwood herself seems human, we'll get to that, the rest of the students are all the daughters of classic horror monsters: Sibella, the fantastic daughter of dracula with a habit of saying fantastic, using her hair like a cape (something Jess caught and I didn't) and turnign into a bat, Elsa Frankentien, daughter of Frankenstien and somehow bride of Frankenstein, maybe they had hate sex and they alternate weeks I dunno, Phanty, a delightfully hyper phantom with a love of exorcist head and a dad whose apparently the phantom of the opera's ghost? I have a lot of questions I dont' think Erik is ever going to answer. but I mean.. it tracks. He does die in most adaptations, so… there's that, Winnie the son of some sort of wolfman, and Tanis, an adorable Mummy child whose conception is best left a mystery.
Shaggy naturally tries to run the fuck away but he's under contract, with Scooby and Scrappy as witnesses. What's nice though is while Shaggy is, being shaggy, is a bit freaked at first he quickly warms up to the girls. It's a gradual shift and while the character development probably could be done a tad more overtly, it still works for the time with Shaggy going from being afraid of these precious children to genuinely supporting them and being the coach they need. The bulk of the first act is just shaggy training up these girls and doing fun exercises with them. The girls even happily get their coach a pizza without being asked when he can't find anything he likes to eat at grimwood (understandably since in classic adamss family fashion everything's rotten). And while it has cobwebs and stuff they genuinely like it and try it. It's small stuff.. but it works.
It helps the girls themselves are incredibly endearing. Their not huge on personality in the dialogue itself, mostly being limited to their traits of "Vampire", "Kinda awkward", "goofy and does the head spin", "energetic werewolf" and "baby girl baby", but the various quirks they have animation wise and their genuine kindness and enthuastim towards their coaches make them hard not to root for. It's no wonder the five became instant fan faviorites and it's more suprising it took TWENTY YEARS to have any sort of followup, especially since after likewise breaking out the Hex Girls have shown up in every series sense. Also if your curious yes we will be getting to it this halloween, Emma's using her patreon review for it. Their just well designed, fun characters and add to the fun chill atmosphere. It's also a nice lesson about tolerance without hitting you over the head with it: Shaggy sees someone different, reacts badly, but grows to see them as what they are: people who are different but at the end of the day still just people. Simple yet heartwarming.
Playing our girls we have Susan Blu, whose a long time voice actor and voice director, best known for this flim and Transformers The Movie as Arcee, as Sibella, Patty Maloney who played Twiki on Buck Rogers a few times and Darla in the 80's version of the little rascals I just found out existed, as Lil Tanis, the late, great Russi Taylor as Phanty, Susan Blu, mother of Mae Witman it turns out and vetran va as Elsa, and the late longtime HB voice actress Marilyn Schreffler as Winnie. Impressively all but two of them came back for the OK KO reunion years later, with only Schreffler and Maloney being replaced as the former had sadly passed ona nd the later had retired, with it being JUST in time to catch Russi Taylor before her tragic passing not long after.
As for what Shaggy's coaching them for in grand 80's fashion he's training them for the big game with the snotty rivals just next door, the Callaway Cadets who seem to be actively in denial about the girls being monsters. Thankfully while they avoid the trap of most standard 80's
Tumblr media
Characters: Unlike say Huey Dewey and Louie or the bros of my little pony tales, the boys, while cocky and confident, are mostly just clever and ready to win and are heavily regimented. At most their petty jerks and cheaters, but there's no overt sexism needing to be taught a lesson here. It's also nice that their one plus sized member Tug is NOT singled out for his weight or the subject of constant fat jokes. Which doesn't seem like a high bar clear but for the time it is. At most he falls on a guy maybe once. Their a little charming but obviously leagues behind the girls in terms of actually being memorable. Their col is also delightfully stuck up, the Callaway himself. Their also well child acted, with future robin Scott Mellinvlle being one of them.
I will admit there's not a huge amount of build up to said game, it's the main goal for 2/3 of the movie but htere's no traning montages or real drive to win other than Tanis wanting one for her big ass mummy case. But it really doesn't matter: It's more about having fun with these characters with the game simply a setup for said fun and some hyjinks. The big game isn't the reason we're here, i'ts to see shaggy and scooby get into antics, some ghoul children be adorable and quirky, and legendary action Glynis Johns to ham it up to all hell as Mrs. Grimwood. Mrs. G is delightful, being wonderful supportive of her girls, a decent enough boss, and fun to be around. She's also in my eyes a witch since, given the later OK KO crossover, that's an actual species in this unvierse and we don't have one on the good guys side so why not. She also has an octopus butler i'm hence dubbing Geoffry. He rocks even if I somehow forget about him EVERY TIME I watch this film. The film is good Adams Family/Munsters style fun complete with thinking creepy things are fun, eating gross food, and shrieking for exercise making the two buzzards who work there quit.
The actual game is engaging though as you want the girls to win, they use their powers, the boys use the power of cheating, it's good times. Seriously the cadets just.. blatantly cheat in front of them. Dick Dastardly at least had the decency to try and do it while no one but the audience was looking. Come on man. OUr heroines naturally win of course, with Tanis getting the trophy that they just pass back and forth because why not.
We also get a really adorable scene as it's PARENTS DAY!… which for Shaggy and Scooby means
Tumblr media
Though it turns out like their kids the various parents.. are all nice. Tanis' dad in paticular gets the immortal line "I don't want to hurt you I want to HUG YOU!" Awww, what a sweetheart. THey also all thretan to straight up murder shaggy and scooby if their daughters get hurt
Tumblr media
This leads us into the last act.. and the weakest part of the film. See either because the script ran short, the execs wanted it or the writer just done goofed, the last part feels kind of jammed in there. The first chonk of the film is fun slice of life while the last third is an adventure film with horror elements in which the dread witch Revolta and her much cooler and more intmidating assitant the Grim Creeper kidnap the girls and plan to brainwash them to give Revolta an army to become top monster since the girls dads went soft raising families. I mean dracula emptied a whole boat before settling down. Can't argue that.
The problem is besides Revolta feeling really jammed in, only showing up for one scene to show us she exists in the first section of the film, she's also REALLY boring. Ruta Lee gives a great voice performace but Revolta's design is meh and her personality is entirely absent. She has no motive other than
Tumblr media
Which granted isn't much of a step down from most scooby doo villians crooked real estate schemes, but it just makes her boring. And if she did more I might respect her but she spends the film sending out minons, her spider bats and the again far more awesome grim creeper and grousing at the Creeper ocasionally. She could be replaced by her sidekick entirely and the film would not change. She also somehow.. surivives the finale? Which like.. is someone going to send the cops after her? Are there monster cops? Would anyone else want to see that spinoff? Valid questions.
The Creeper is great though, voiced by Andre Stojka who played the owl in winnie the poo after this. Great guy. The creeper has a neat , creepy design, a great voice and depsite bein ga tad goofy is a through threat, being the one who actually you know does shit, using his vines to grab people, going out to help the spider-bats with the kidnapping and generally doing all the work. He even tries feading Scooby , Shaggy and Scrappy to a well dweller who also looks neat, and is cleverly defeated by scrappy getting it to play with a bouncing ball. I genuinely wish he was the main villian. Granted I also love any and all cyclopses like this boy here
Tumblr media
But still the Grim Creeper rocks. The last third of the film dosen't: Once the kidnappings happen, which are genuinely creepy and unsettling , paticuarlly Sibella as while she tries to escape she's captured mid-air by the bats and Winnie and Tanis who are dragged into an abandoned shack by their big sister figures, so it's not al lbad.. but then the last 25 minutes is just almost entirely our heroes dicking around a castle. There's some good bits such as Shaggy meeting the bad shaggy, because he's the good shaggy, whose just a …
Tumblr media
With Evil Shag being genuinely creepy.. but instead of serving any plot ponit he just.. runs back into the mirror after chasing Scooby and then Scrappy for a bit while the girls chant "I obey only revolta " to an annoying degree. It'd be creepier to have them actually attack their surrogate uncles instead of just, you know chanting and doing nothing. It's not TERRIBLE, the good set pieces help outweigh the bad parts, but it's nothing really special or necessary after 2/3 of a really fun chill slice of life comedy.
The climax likewise is just kinda there: Our heroes just happen to accidently break Sibella free, she frees the rest, and the cadets, who previously refused to help for no good reason…
Tumblr media
Had a change of heart and decided to come help and take everyone away on their helicopter they have because the one kids an inventor and they actually set it up so good for them. Our heroes escape and have a really fun dance party to the Scrappy Rap, aka Scrappy being shockingly fun as an mc. It's cheesy sure but it's sstill got a decent beat, is fine for a goofy 80's film, and is far from the most embarassing rap i've seen
youtube
The ending.. dosen't quite work for me as Shaggy and Scooby run off from next semesters kids: A creature from the black lagoon who looks delightfully orange, an alien, and Godzooky 2: The Quickening. Seriously I want to know more about these kids they look adorable. GIVE ME A SEQUEL YOU COWARDS
Tumblr media
DON'T GIVE ME ONE FOR GOD'S SAKE YOU COWARDS.
So that was Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School and while far from the deepst or scariest scooby work, it's one of the funnest, the most creative and it has an octopus butler. None of us can say that and more should frankly. If you can find it, as it is on DVD at least, check it out. It's a fun ride and easily the best of the Red Shirt Trilogy, which i'll get back to.. eventually. For now have a good day, follow me here for more and on patreon, feel free to hit me up for comissions and thanks for reading.

👾🕹️for the Sonic ask game
👾 - Favourite Handheld Game
Ngl quite a few of the handheld games are pretty dang good. I love the whole Advance trilogy, I'm still desperate for them to be ported already, if the classic games can be ported dozens of times, why can't the Advance trilogy be ported even once??? Sonic Battle, I love the story and Emerl, but the gameplay gets really old after a while... The Rush duology, I fucking adore. I mean they gave us Blaze and a soundtrack from Hideki Naganuma, what more could you want???
But if I had to pick favourites... It would be between Sonic Advance 2 because it's the game that introduced Cream The Rabbit and I really love the level themes in that game, especially Music Park, I'd love to see something like that again; and Sonic Rush Adventure because it took place in Blaze's dimension which is pretty dang cool and again, the level themes are so great in this game like... A steam powered factory island, an underwater coral cave, a ghost ship, floating ruins above the clouds, an entire pirate city... It's great. I love it.
🕹️ - Favourite Non Sonic Sega Franchise
I feel like everyone expects me to say Persona but I don't consider Persona a Sega series. It's an Atlus series. Yes, Sega owns Atlus but they didn't make Persona. So, yeah, just getting that out the way, Persona isn't applicable in my eyes.
So, it would absolutely have to be Jet Set Radio. I love this series so much and it only has two games, with the latest one coming out in 2002... 'Desperate' doesn't even come close to describing how I feel about a new entry.
But a very close runner up is Nights. Nights is a comfort series for me, it's so cozy which makes sense because it's all dream based. Also the concept of making a video game character that fans could technically 'meet' was such a cute concept. If you don't know what I'm talking about, the team mentioned that because Nights is a being that exists in a dream world, if a fan was a lucid dreamer, Nights could technically be considered real and they could meet them. And like... That's so cute and fun, I love that. Again, desperate for a new game, but hey, Naoto Ohshima's back with Sonic Team for Sonic Superstars... You never know... I'm not getting my hopes up but you never know...

Bocchi the Rock! Review
Tumblr media
Bocchi the Rock is a slice-of-life comedic music anime based on a manga by Aki Hamaji. It is directed by Keiichirō Saitō and written by Erika Yoshida. It is produced by CloverWorks, a seven-year-old Japanese studio known for series such as Slow Start, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, The Promised Neverland, Akebi's Sailor Uniform, and Spy × Family. This review will have spoilers.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs, my History Hermann WordPress blog (where it will be published on Mar. 1), and Wayback Machine. This was the sixteenth article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on December 14, 2022.
The show's plot centers around a socially awkward girl named Hitori Goto (voiced by Yoshino Aoyama) who struggles making friends at school or anywhere, playing cover songs under the name "guitarhero". She is pulled into a group at an underground bar named STARRY by a girl named Nijika Ijichi (voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro), and meets Ryo Yamada (voiced by Saku Mizuno), who plays bass. The fellow members of the Kessoku Band dub her "Bocchi", saying they are fans of her "guitarhero" channel.
The series follows the development of Kessoku Band, which expands to four members after Bocchi convinces guitarist Ikuyo Kita (voiced by Ikumi Hasegawa). Over the series, Bocchi becomes more comfortable with other people, effectively coming out of her shell. This makes the series different from the popular 23-episode anime, Komi Can't Communicate, which centers on a quiet beautiful girl named Shoko Komi, who is also very socially awkward.
Instead, Bocchi the Rock! has more similarities to Hitori Bocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu, which also features a socially awkward and anxious protagonist. At the same time, Bocchi is, arguably, not as physically attractive in the same way as Komi.
Furthermore, her expressions, words, and actions make her more relatable than any other character with similar characteristics, especially when she imagines a dark, depressing future for herself several times throughout the series. For those who are socially awkward, the tendency to hide away from the world and ignore others makes her someone that they can connect to, more than other characters.
This anime is unique because it is one of the only recent music anime series, which are not centered on idols. That distinguishes it from Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club, Shine Post, and Love Live! Superstar!! which aired this year. It also sets it apart from relatively recent non-idol music series such as Healer Girl and Lost Song, neither of which feature rock bands.
Each of the characters in Bocchi the Rock! stand out in their own way, contributing uniquely to the show's comedy. However, Bocchi has the most comedic moments in the series, in comparison to the other characters.
youtube
Animation and background art of Bocchi the Rock! is simpler than other series, like Do It Yourself!!. Even so, the art style stands out, especially when paired with Bocchi. For instance, when she was listening to the psychedelic rock band, Sick Hack, she is shown in a mix of psychedelic colors. After all, the animation and background art can be very dynamic, as it is in the series opening.
The series music is informed by realism more than other series, in terms of chords and sound of the songs. For example when the band isn't coordinated, the songs sound discordant. When they have more confidence, the songs sound stronger.
This is enhanced by emphasizing the reality of playing in a band. It also couples with mature themes. One example of this is the talented vocalist, and bassist, of Sick Hack, Kikuri Hiroi (voiced by Sayaka Senbongi), who is an alcoholic. She spends most of what she earns on booze. She is almost as drunk as the character, Shorty, is throughout the Tangled animated series.
Even so, she encourages Bocchi, as does STARRY manager, Seika Ijichi (voiced by Maaya Uchida), the older sister of Nijika. This support, and friendly disposition of her fellow band members, allows Bocchi to grow as a person. That is part of what makes the show enjoyable.
Although Bocchi is very anti-social, she does not go on an adventure to leave society behind, in effect, as the protagonists of the amazing 2018 adventure anime A Place Further Than the Universe do. Instead, she expresses her social awkwardness through her actions and her music, while continuing to attend school. In this way, she fits within existing social norms, while remaining anti-social.
The voice acting of Aoyama, Suzushiro, Mizuno, Hasegawa, Senbongi, and Uchida in Bocchi the Rock! shines through and grounds the show itself, especially during songs. The same can be said for those voicing Hiroi's fellow band members, Eliza Shimizu and Shima Iwashita, or those voicing Hitori's mother, father, sister, and dog.
Many of the voice actors in the series are recognizable due to their voice performances in previous anime. This includes their voice overs for characters in well-known series such as Princess Tutu, Non Non Biyori, My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear, Bloom Into You, and The Promised Neverland.
Others have voiced characters in My Master Has No Tail, Love After World Domination, The Demon Girl Next Door, and Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. This seasoned voice talent makes Bocchi the Rock! a much stronger series than anime which have newer voice actors.

The series has Bocchi at its core, its heart. Bocchi drives the series forward. Unlike series such as Wednesday, where Wednesday Addams holds the series up to such an extent that without her it would collapse, other characters serve as supporting pillars.
Bocchi's moodiness, emotion, and social awkwardness often all combine together, even causing her disappear or turn into nothingness, especially when she is experiencing too much social interaction or stimulation. While this is not necessarily realistic, it is relatable.
As such, she is more relatable than the aforementioned Komi or Hitori, in their respective series, or even the protagonists of Aharen-san wa Hakarenai and Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club. However, her character is not unique, as there are various shy, timid, and socially awkward characters across anime, something which is more common than ever.
Bocchi the Rock! centers on a socially awkward protagonist, with a focus on what friendship means, and balancing one's social abilities with possible social exhaustion. This sets her apart from other characters with similar characteristics.
If there is anywhere the story falls down or falls short, it is the fact that it focuses primarily on Bocchi and not as much on other characters. None of the parents or guardians of the other protagonists are shown in the series. However, this is not as extreme as the hyper-focus on Steven in Steven Universe Future to the detriment of additional characters. In this series, viewers can still see some depth of others characters apart from Bocchi.
Some fans have argued that Bocchi the Rock! has yuri subtext. One prominent yuri news site, Yuri Anime News, even listed it on their website, without detailing how this subtext is manifested in the series itself. These arguments are sound. Ikuko seems to have some feelings for Ryo, despite the fact that Ryo does not mean to attract people to her, and looks relatively androgynous.
This is one area the series could be stronger: going beyond yuri subtext. Even other series airing this fall, such as Encouragement of Climb: Next Summit and Management of a Novice Alchemist, have more prominent yuri undertones. The latter even has a textual yuri relationship between two supporting characters which is occasionally shown on screen.
Despite these criticisms, Bocchi the Rock! still stands out, especially among recent music anime series, not falling into the usual set-up of such series. The focus of the series on social awkwardness and music is the reason I recommend it wholeheartedly.
Bocchi the Rock! is currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

RM: Ci tengo a menzionare [la tua traccia solista del 2006] “Take It Off (Dim the Lights)” perché era parte integrante della mia playlist.
Decido seguendo l'istinto, niente convenzioni o regole prestabilite.
RM: [Tipo] “Devo rappare”, “Devo cantare”
Non so come facciate voi.
Williams: Davvero troppo grande, amico. Tutta quell'emozione e carica ogni sera, come fai a rilassarti?
RM: Quando?
Quindi capisco cosa intendi.
Ascolta: “Block on fire / Quartiere/ Isolato in Fiamme”
RM: Block on fire. B.O.F., quartiere in fiamme.
Williams: Fantastico.
RM: Hai qualche nuovo progetto in preparazione?
RM: Adoro quella canzone
Williams: Piace moltissimo anche a me.
RM: E andiamo, cazzo!
Williams: La adoro, adoro, adoro davvero.
RM: Sono profondamente onorato e grato.
Pharrell, hai qualche ultimo consiglio per RM?
Williams: Sai cosa?
RM: No, sei stato gentilissimo
Williams: Mi sembra la foto l'avessimo scattata...
RM: Nel tuo camerino
RM: Nah, capiranno...
Williams: Esatto.
RM: Come ti descriveresti?
Sì, a volte i gruppi vengono formati a tavolino anche qui, tipo, sai... Gli Nsync, i Backstreet Boys..
RM: I One Direction
In coreano la chiamiamo “bon-to (본토).
RM: Davvero
Williams: Ma anche adesso sono tempi micidiali!

spotlight: SAGA
Our spotlight for today is on NH's first and only original group as of now, SAGA. Dubbed the "Queens of Girl Crush" they have made their mark as one of the best selling, most acclaimed and popular girl groups in K-Pop history.
Their debut as NH's first girl group was highly theorized on and anticipated. The group went through many different lineup changes while NH tried to make sure their first group would be the best it could. NH wanted a group that was versatile talent and concept wise, though they. They were met with pretty fast success that they have sustained with frequent releases and promotions. In more recent years the girls have begun to shift to more solo ventures, but remain close and supportive of one another. Rumors have been spreading that some or all of the girls plan to depart from NH, but none have been confirmed. Their last comeback was in May 2022, and fans are desperate for another release from the international superstars.
MEMBERS
Kim Mia aka "Mia": Leader, Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer
Born 1995 in Toronto, Canada
Rumored to be related to an executive at NH, but that has never been confirmed or denied
She had the longest training person (6 years), highly anticipated debut. She was called "Mini-Hwa" pre-debut because of her vocal skills.
The first member release solo music, starting with Happy in 2020.
Has been publicly dating NOON's Jaewon since June 2023.
Known in the fandom as the "dad" of SAGA, since she shows her love in more quiet and subtle ways. She is very protective and supportive of the other members.
Lee Soyeon aka "Soul": Lead Rapper, Sub Vocalist, Visual
Born 1996 in Daegu, South Korea
Has gone on multiple health related hiatuses
Well known actor and model, established her own clothing brand "RE:Born" in 2021 under NoHarm
Known in the fandom as the "mom" of SAGA. When they lived in the dorms she would often cook and clean for the members. "Without Soul, our dorm would look like a boy group" - Angel (Vlive, 2017)
Bae Eunji aka "Jiji": Main Dancer, Vocalist, Rapper, Center
Born 1996 in Seoul, South Korea
Often leads group dance practice sessions and is known to be very strict.
Has a background in theater, started doing musicals in 2020 under her birth name "Bae Eunji"
She is a part of the group's sub-unit, So Far, with Angel
Voted as the most unlike her on stage persona (she's shy and introverted off stage)
Kittikhun Wattayachit aka "Luna": Main Rapper, Producer
Born 1997 in Bangkok, Thailand
Her debut marked her as NH's first and only non-Korean idol.
Since 2019 she has written on all of SAGA's albums and is a well known writing for other groups/artists.
Almost left Next Hit & SAGA after not being paid for the songwriting and producing she began participating in for SAGA in 2018. She has since negotiated with NH and paid for all of her previous writing credits.
She is the most private about her personal life. The members did not meet her family members until 5 years after the group's debut when they had a concert in Thailand.
Kim Soomin aka "Angel": Lead Vocalist, Maknae
Born 1997 in Seoul, South Korea
She was not in the original lineup of SAGA (as shown in the original pre-release song, 4 Walls), but was added right before debut after only 6 months of training.
Before debut she was a child actor and starred in many commercials and had small roles in dramas.
She is a part of the group's sub-unit, So Far, with Jiji.
She has a large presence in variety shows, and hosts her own radio show.
She is the most social member (voted by members), but also the most tardy. As a rookie, the group had a rule that you had to pay 500 won for every minute they were late to practice, Angel had to pay 30,000 won over six months.
