smiles at you so serenely. i'm unimaginably delighted to have been asked and on a completely unrelated interest sideblog nonetheless LOL thank you for indulging me!!

so, what is orv?

omniscient reader's viewpoint, in it's most functional definition, is a behemoth of a korean web novel spanning well over 500 chapters. this admittedly makes it a little difficult to describe in full scope. if you'd like a more detailed post explaining it & its main appeal i recommend ot3's post!

but here's my attempt at a shortened summary for you:

orv is about a down on his luck office worker, kim dokja, who indulges in web novels as the only means of escape from his brutally mundane daily life. his utmost favorite web novel is a long winded, complicated, and incredibly boring story that no one else has the time or patience to read, leaving him as its sole reader. despite this, the novel has continued to update for the past 13 years, even if seemingly only for him. one day, after more than a decade of single-handedly reading and supporting this story, the author gives out a notice they'll be concluding the series at long last. but before dokja can read its last chapter, the world shifts and changes, and the novel itself comes to life a la reverse isekai. the world has become the novel. and as its sole reader, dokja has now become one of the only people to know the world's future. he spends the rest of the story trying to guide the ensuing chain of events in a more favorable direction than the one he read-- all so he can finally reach the end, that final chapter that he never got to finish.

i think at its heart orv can be best surmised through its main refrain: "this story is for that one reader." it's an action packed shounen fantasy death game adventure story BEHEMOTH; but at its heart lies one of the most sincere love letters to the art of storytelling i've had the chance to read. it loves cliches and cheesy tropes and mary sues and everything else we're told is "bad" about fiction unabashedly, because it loves you, the reader, for taking the time to read it regardless.

i talk about it within the context of life series watcher lore mostly because they share metanarrative elements and because i as a person am kind of always ambiently musing about orv, but otherwise they are two very different media. I'm really happy to have gotten the chance to ramble about this though!

okay, so how do i read it?

if youre still interested, i tentatively recommend starting with the webtoon adaptation before jumpping into the web novel. i personally found the english translation of the web novel clunky and hard to read at first, and thus neglected to finish orv for the longest time. that is, of course, until i reread the webtoon and got left on a cliffhanger so bad that i finished all 551 novel chapters within the span of a week.

there's problems with the webtoon adaptation of course, but i think its translation is slightly more accessible & its visuals make it an easier read than diving headfirst into a novel. but do consider making the jump to the novel earlier than later though, it's an incredibly gratifying read if you do make it all the way to the end.

DG BRAIN WORM + LOOKISM SPOILERS INCOMING

dg IS a kpop idol right? with how often dg is shown as a fighter in lookism especially in the latest chapters, i think we often forget his roots as a kpop idol, mainly bc ptj hasn’t really developed much about dg for good reason! dg’s backstory is like a spicy little secret rn to be revealed over time and i am a sucker for that honestly.

now imagine dg with a comeback like this. y’all know how he’s been depicted like an angel lately right? so in my head when i think of ‘dg discography’ i think debut dg was like bad boy visuals era (possibly with the anime style red hair? a reflection of james lee era even?), and then he turned Swag with the times (our first glimpse at dg in the webtoon, so debut dg but in pink), and now we have current dg with angel symbolisms with the lighting and stuff (to juxtapose demon gun bc that face still fucking haunts me but shh we’re not talking about gun rn).

angel dg fits the current kpop visual aesthetic but think about it: dg with the most angelic face ever, singing about some kind of sweet temptation. you would think he’s singing about seduction as in lust or whatever, but no. it’s crime. the devil by the window whispering in his ear is charles choi and/or the life he lived as james lee.

iirc the main reason dg wants charles choi dead or at least gone is bc charles choi has dirt on him killing someone even tho that someone is still unknown right? which suggests that even though dg is still out committing crimes, he seems to be ashamed of what he’s done? for me it seems like he’s constantly bouncing back and forth between “help me hide the body” (deals with eugene) and “please expose me so i don’t have to deal with this alone” (telling daniel about things) so he’s like. kind of a loser in that regard ngl

which brings us back to demon gun juxtaposition (unfortunately). gun’s been to juvie aight. man’s done a lot of bad, unlawful shit. but you know what he is that dg isn’t about all of this? it’s honest. gun’s the guy who beats people up with 0 shame bc he likes fighting? and that’s what makes gun one of the best people to fight dg and vice versa because in terms of fighting mentality they kind of mirror each other: you have kang ‘please fix things’ dagyeom, and park ‘i can make things worse’ jonggun.

so here you have it: my take on the gundg parallel, in words. this was not my original brain worm but the og worm got eaten by this one bc i didn’t want to spoil incoming dg x reader fic 👀

if this doesn’t really make sense im sorry i beat my fever’s ass but the cold is still beating me my brainwaves are kinda scattered im rather head empty rn

Blaze Rants! Part 1/Part ????

I READ 20 EPISODES OF A NEW WEBTOON AND I WANT TO SHARE MY OPINION! Reminder i'm reading the english version on my computer which only has 20 chapters available for me to read so no i have not read any other episodes pass episode 20 and no i have not watched any spoilers even though my cousins had spoiled a few episodes for me.... but lets not talk about that!

Okay which Webtoon am I talking about:

Okay i'm going to go on a rant of each character and a tiny bit of plot, let's start with each character and i may roast some of them (only 4 and two are from another fandom) so fans for these charather's (if there even is any) don't come at me!

Let's start with our Mc here: Jiwon Kang!

Jiwon is a character i really felt sorry for at the start of episode 1 since her husband cheated on her with her best friend and im here sitting like: Why am I getting remarried empress vibes over here? (you're going to be hearing this phrase a lot...)

She dies at the hands of her own husband like WHAT THE MUFFIN?! Then the spirit of her dad gives her a second chance, sending her ten years back into time while me over here being like: GIRL THIS IS YOUR CHANCE! AVOID GETTING MARRIED WITH THAT SORE EXCUSE OF A HUSBAND AND MARRY SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!

As soon as I was her boss and there were a few interactions i was like: Girl, this is your dream man, marry him right now. Then we get to the episode which is her high school reunion and she gets a glow up while me and my friend (who just started reading it) were acting like proud mothers/aunts and I was talking to my screen saying: Show everyone your not the same person and your a strong girlboss now!

Jiwon is a really smart person where she uses her knowledge of the future to her advantage in order to help the lives of other people and to get her revenge which is smart! Not only does she get her revenge but she also helps the lives of people she didn't really know struggled that much in her first life!

I know that she's focus on revenge but i feel like she needs to focus on herself and making her life better, revenge can't be her only goal because after she gets her revenge then what? She has so many allies in the later chapters and she has people who are falling in love with her so in my opinion what I wanted her to do is go date and marry someone else, looking at a certain someone who is not her "boyfriend."/ Trash husband in the future.

Let's move on to who I believe is Jiwon's future husband that she deserves: Jihyuk Yu!

There are a few scenes I got from the first 20 episodes where i came to the conclusion: He has a crush on her from the very start of this webtoon or maybe even before the Webtoon timeline! Even though she's in a relationship (a Very bad Relationship) He still goes out to protect Jiwon from her boyfriend.

Heck there were a few scenes where i was yelling to Jiwon: Dump your boyfriend and go with your boss! But it seems like the girl has other plans.....

Jihyuk Yu is trying to protect her from her boyfriend because he knows that Jiwon's boyfriend is going to cheat on her but Jiwon pretends she doesn't know that even though she does.

Jihyuk Yu is boyfriend material and I'm putting my statement out there! He treats Jiwon with so much hidden love and affection and treats her better than what her boyfriend treats her! If the new fancy shoes weren't enough to show how much he cares for her then i don't know what will for the girl to take a hint.

Okay moving on to! *looks at my list* Hey can i skip these next two?! No? Fine i'll do these two characters in one sitting and i'm going to toast them as much as i want.

The next two im talking about is.... Sumin and Minhwan..... No seriously can i skip these two please?! No?! FINE!

Okay these two, I hate them so much! And here I thought Trashta and Sovieshit (Rashta & Sovieshu) were a bad enough couple, these two over her put the icing on the cake!

Sumin is quote on quote: Jiwon's friends, well why the hell are you lying! Stop lying you piece of sushi (my friends called her that and that's my name for her) She is manipulative and toxic and messed up a perfectly good relationship Jiwon could of have with one of the side charather's! And you cannot say her talking style in episodes 15 - 20 (I think) when she got injured &/or trying to get older men on her side sounds exactly like Rashta from the remarried empress! Like I wanted to commit murder.....

Minhwan..... I'm going to burn you in hell and throw you off a cliff! He's basically Sovieshu, if these charather's would be in the remarried empress then we already know these two pieces of garbage i mentioned are the two worst characters in that webtoon meanwhile the other two i mentioned are Navier and Heinrey.

Minhwan only dated Jiwon because of a bet and I hated him for that and at the end of episode 20 her now acts like a yandere boyfriend even though he FLIRTS with Sumin! LIKE WHAT THE FUDGE MUFFIN!!!! and Minhwan only proposes to keep Jiwon to himself AFTER she gets a glow up and more men are after her! I wonder if he would have done that even if she didn't get the glow up (probably not) but they made it to the step of marriage even without Jiwon getting a makeover so maybe?!

Aright im not talking about sushi girl and mr.cheater over here so lets move to the side characters.

Some i wanted to throw off a cliff, looking at one while some i really hope the writer includes a happy ending for them! Jiwon's old classmates were tricked by lies but in the end they became good allies and I hope Jiwon can rely on them for help on her revenge plan on Sushi girl.

Jihyuk Yu sister is someone i wish was real and is someone who i wish was my sibling because she's so supportive for her brother and is a great friend to all of her co-workers, she is the definition of a perfect friend and maybe a good wingwoman!

Jiwon's old crush, I admit i had no care in the world for him but after i learn the truth that he liked her i hated Sumin more because she ruined a good relationship for Jiwon and Jiwon could have had a happy life.

Jiwon's co-worker who is a working mother with a young child and a shit husband, I wanted to punch her husband at first sight and then i looked at the new character they introduced in episode 19 i said: Please let those two together they look like a good couple.

I'm not going to talk about the other side character (Bald man) because they don't deserve it.

Conclusion:

Jiwon deserves to find love and shouldn't be fully focused on revenge while i hope Sumin and Minhwan get karma since they're the worst!

Anyways that's the end of my rant, tell me what i should give my opinion on next: games, shows, webtoons, etc. and i'll check it out and give my opinion! the ask box is always open

5 Anti LO Asks

1. am i the only one who kinda hate the colors choices for the characters in LO? they're so oversaturated and intense that it just hurts my eyes to look at after awhile. the background colors are much nicer with them being more pastel. i wish it went with that hue instead of just being as intense as possible.

2. So, this is my first time saying ANY critique on webtoons out loud. I wanted to keep my mouth shut because I know how hard it can be with comics but, enough said. My GOD. Everyone’s pointed out great points but if I’d have to say any, what I really find annoying is when anyone explains their backstory with meeting P for the first time, it has to take up so many eps, it’s long and with useless info, and it never really goes anywhere because every character constantly keeps changing their story???? And it’s not even like some moment that you can remember and look back to. They’re all so freaking forgettable and long for NO REASON??? I read the latest FP and it was The same thing. Hermès explaining his first time meeting P but why did it have to take up more than half the ep? I feel like that’s why eps. Feel a lot shorter. Because absolutely nothing happens and when something important actually does happen, it takes so damn long to explain that I just don’t care for it. This could also be said with Minthes and Hades first time meeting cuz yeah ok, they were both in a bad place, but just get to the point???? It doesn’t need two whole ass episodes just to say “they were both in a bad place u_u” And when it comes to milking a plot, they never properly solve issues. Like yeah maybe they did give that guy his eye ball back, BUT P’S RAPE???? I don’t care for it anymore. And that’s an issue that should have been solved or at least given a proper light to! It’s just dealt so poorly and for the sake of dumb quirky flashbacks. Like yess, im sure that happens to real survivors but comic wise, it gets kinda boring? Maybe come up with better ways on how other things affect her and then she learns from them?? That’d be great character development and it could help her over come her fears and become stronger both mentally and physically. But I’m sorry DX I’m normally not like this at all, in fact I support freelance comic artists a lot! But once I found how much she makes, sheesh! I needed to say something.

3. I mean I guess Hermes (the red guy is him right?) ‘s mother is a plus size character. But its only like his mom, Hestia and i think there was one fat nymph Perse was friends with.

4. Holy shit this fastpass chapter was total shit. It has nothing to do with the trail at all, and this chapter was very boring to the point where I even stopped halfway through and read the rest later fast to get it over with.

Having Persephone be hidden is so fucking stupid because this contradict season 1 where hades reading all of her accomplishments from competitions you know, things that are public. Not only that but why have Demeter hide Persephone be new when Persephone is THE FUCKING BARLEY MOTHER MASCOT?!?!!

Hermes Little plot will literally be nothing but filler and if this was a real situation he would not even be in it because he really did nothing but get money for being quiet. What we need is an explanation from Demeter and Persephone not fucking hermes!

Rachel what the fucking fuck gurl!!! I don’t know if you can tell. But this chapter mad me so mad, we need explanation and plot, not filler junk.

5. In fastpass, there was a flashback where hermes and persephone got so much chemistry that i wish they were a real final couple. Also anything isnt explained yet and hermas instead of talking about act of warth or wy persephone in inocen he talked about his life and how he met perephone and this part of flashback isnt even ended, ended on cliffhanger and will be continuing in next ep.

⚠️ACOSF spoilers ⚠️

but on a more series note, I absolutely adore this girl. Not only is she a fun but level-headed and tough character, but she's also sweet and kind. And her being a victim of trauma and abuse has only made my respect for her skyrocket. I see my past in hers, and I feel so heard and understood by her pain and fortitude. As the first of the females to win the blood rite and become a valkyrie, I feel so much pride in her and her journey. I see her potential and I see all that she deserves, and all I can hope is that she becomes a present character in the next book so that we might explore all she has to offer.

I also ship gwynriel so hard. It just feels... right. I know he wants Elain and I think he'll try to pursue that forbidden love, but in the end, I think they'll gracefully part ways. I also hope to see him mourn and accept that he's moved on from Mor. Falling out of love can be painful and scary, and I wanna see that portrayed. (A great example of this is on Webtoon, in a story called Peaches by Leehama i believe, as part of an anthology).

I hope that he will be in a love triangle with Gwyn and Elain, but Gwyn will turn out to be his mate. Something about him being the one to rescue her, the one who makes her face her past, who pushes her to overcome and be just as competitive as he is, is beautiful. The way his shadows dance and sing around her is lovely. With Elain, the shadows are chased away by light (which is okay), but I think it's even better that his shadows (a part of him and his soul and feelings) feel happy and settled around Gwyn. With Elain, his shadows [and him] want to protect her and are a bit possessive, but with Gwyn, he becomes more comfortable and open and the Az the IC knows and loves. I think Gwyn is his mate, based on the way his body just naturally reacts to her and her presence. How his shadows sing and dance, and she is his muse. I don't want her to be a second choice (or really, a third if you consider Mor) and I want SJM to talk about that and show Gwyn that she isn't a second or third choice, she's the one he's been looking for. Even though he gave the necklace originally meant for Elain to Gwyn, it feels relevant that he thought to give it to her instead of letting it remain with Elain. That he sought her out at the library because something in him told him to give it to her. And the ending line of the chapter? It's about her.

I used to be reluctant to even go near the drama of Elucien/Elriel shippers, but now I realize that maybe Elucien and Gwynriel would be kind of awesome... Lucien is also a wonderful guy, and although I don't totally ship it, I think they would be wonderful friends at the least. But Gwynriel? That shit is fire. I also am excited to see Elain's development, because I know that she chooses to be soft, but is a force to be reckoned with. She's stronger than they know, and her decision to choose to be soft is admirable. People look down on others who like to have a simple, domestic life, but I praise Elain for her gentility. Now does she need some growth??? Um, yea. But I still am hyped to see her. I also feel like in this way, Lucien and Elain are a lot alike. A fox and a stag. They have a lot going on beneath the surface we don't see, and I'll be damned if people forget Elain isn't just Elain, she's an Archeron. Don't fuck with the Archerons.

tldr: stan gwyn and azriel, also elain and lucien but not as much

"you're the new ribbon, az" BOY SHE WONT STOP UNTIL SHE GETS U. like i feel like she'll have a crush on him and he won't realize or be open to it but then he will be and gah. there will be lots of pining.

i hope to see gwyn's journey as a victim of SA and overcoming her anxieties and fears. i want to see her explore the world, wear clothes she likes, feel goddamn worthy, explore her sexuality without being afraid anymore, like??? pls. therapy??? me??? naw. cope through book. book safe 😌

well in that case, could i get like a little backstory for the characters in wya? i've heard names before but i dont really know the characters' pasts that well yet

of course! the order in which i go about this is going to be WACK but stay with me here. im starting with batman and going with the order of appearances in the webtoon.

bruce: bruce wayne. the batman. hes rich and in the eye of the public as a rich playboy, his parents were killed in front of him at a young age and he became batman to avenge them and to stop that from happening to anyone else as much as he can. hes a brilliant detective.

duke thomas: the character chapter 1 focuses on, duke is a metahuman, known as the signal. he's the son of a villain (you're going to find this is a reoccurring theme HRDLAJHRKS) um some shit happened with the riddler snd duke met bruce when his family helped him or something. something something foster system something something the robins saved him something something he was robin for a short time. hes still understanding his powers that tbh. idk how to describe. you can read the wiki if you want to know his abilities

damian wayne: son of bruce wayne and talia al ghul, who is a villain and the daughter of notorious capital e Evil Man ra's al ghul. damian was raised by his mother and the league of assassins, the organization led by ra's al ghul. he eventually was able to go out and seek his father and became the fifth and current robin.

jason todd: the second robin, the son of a petty criminal and a mother who died from an overdose, jason met batman because he tried to steal some tired off the batmobile. yadda yadda, he became robin. the joker eventually tricks him, by giving him information about his real mother and her whereabouts. the joker brutally kills jason. something something he's revived and some more stuff happens, he becomes the red hood, an antihero.

tim drake: tim met dick grayson (more on him later) when dick and his parents were acrobrats at a circus, something something he figures out dick is robin and that bruce is batman and something something he pushes the idea that batman needs a new robin sidekick after jason's death. his mother was killed, his father was put in a coma, and he was motivated to do the Right Thing which put him in the good graces of bruce. he takes on the title red robin.

cassandra cain: raised as a child to be the perfect weapon and bodyguard for ra's al ghul, she was taught martial arts as if it was a language. she didnt know how to speak or communicate with words, she was taught how to read body language with uncanny accuracy, almost like she was reading their thoughts. at eight years old she killed a man and was deeply traumatized, she saw death through the man's eyes, and she ran away. something something homeless something something she ended up in gotham city when she was 17, and became an agent for barbara gordon (more on her later), eventually she was brought in by bruce, becoming one of his most skilled and loyal followers. she became batgirl, but a psychic gave her the ability to understand words and her ways of understanding body language and martial arts was completely erased, and bruce had to retrain her. in the wayne family adventures she is orphan, though i prefer to still think of her as batgirl.

stephanie brown: daughter of, you guessed it, a villain, cluemaster, she became spoiler in order to stop him for good. she left clues for batman and robin to capture him. something something crush on tim drake something something they dated something something she found out she pregnant from an ex boyfriend, and put the baby up for adoption. uhhhhhh she saw tim talking with another girl and broke up with him and demanded bruce train her as robin. yeah that didnt last long. she became batgirl, and now shes spoiler again.

barbara gordon: the niece/adopted daughter of commissioner of police, jim gordon, she was batgirl for a while, though she decided it wasnt a fulfilling role for her and she retired. one day the joker shoots her and she is left paralyzed. she becomes an intelligence force for the batfam, operating as oracle and using her photographic memory and kick ass computers to help batman and co.

dick grayson: has not yet shown up in the wayne family adventures BUT, he is the first robin (and my personal favorite) , he used to be an acrobat with his family, known as the flying graysons. his parents were killed in front of him, and bruce would take him under his wing as the first robin. he now operates as nightwing.

hi, i finished all the chapters and it was cool, but im so confused abt the timeline >.< could you explain it a bit? and is chapter 4 happens after all the others but its in the past?

Hi Anon! Thank you for playing all four chapters! Chapter 4 does in-fact happen before the previous three. I didn’t want to release everything in chronological order, but--

I’ll slightly summarize each individual chapter. Major spoilers beneath the cut.

Chapter 1: This technically takes place in 1888 [I never specified the location, but my headcanon is that the characters are in Germany]. Noël ends up falling into a ‘time loop’ with Annabelle, which was meant to slightly hint towards the idea of ‘time’ being rather unstable.

He mentions gramophones, the Wizard of Oz, driving licenses, etc.--All of which would have been impossible for him to know of, considering he was ‘locked away’ for fifty years.

Essentially, the entirety of Chapter 1--none of it can be taken at face value. Certain characters he encounters may not quite be as benign or malicious as they first appear--for example, Annabelle and Delia. Noël’s an extremely unreliable narrator. He’s confused and lost and completely out of his element. Also, as he has lived for centuries, a lot of his memories are heavily disjointed.

It is revealed [but not stated outright] in Chapter 3 that Wyvn, the grim reaper, had placed him on trial.

This chapter is the most ‘recent’ memory he had.

Chapter 2: It occurs during the height of the witch trials in Europe. 1524 A.D. The story was supposed to progress backwards, so this one [definitely] takes place before Chapter 1.

Noël worked as a freelance ‘exorcist’ prior to stumbling across Procession’s Way. He meets Ilia and the Sauer twins, among other people.

Admittedly, I should have made this more clear, but a small hint as to how things weren’t quite as what they seemed were with the faceless NPC sprites. They were the exact same ones from the previous chapter, which was meant to signify how Noël posessed absolutely no memories of them.

Another reason as to why I had this part be the second chapter was due to Henrietta and Adelaide Sauer. Compare their appearances to Wyvn...rather similar, right?

Chapter 3: This chapter goes right back to where Chapter 1 left off. It is technically in Noël‘s “”””present””””” time.

It is revealed that he was on trial the entire time. The best way to phrase the previous two chapters were that he was reliving his memories on speedrun.

The reason as to why Noël kept jumping from one timeline to another was to highlight on the pasts of some of the other characters. I had wanted to feature Annabelle, Azelle, Rue, Lila, etc., etc., but due to a lack of time since I was a student at the time [and limitations as I was the only one working on this game], I instead tried to improvise a little.

I only discuss a tiny fraction of every character’s backstory, but I just really wanted to include them [if only slightly].

In the end, Wyvn swings their scythe on Noël. And so--

Chapter 4: I had been waiting years to finally get to this chapter. Not to make excuses, but it ended up becoming more like one giant cutscene. I had to cut out a lot of content as I kept getting sick during development.

Anyway, this one takes place in 1943. Noël was actually born on December 30, 1930, but due to some very tragic events, he found himself back in time. He was actually wandering around for about ten years prior to the start of Chapter 2.

I’d say more, but I would be getting into more spoiler territory outside of the game.

All the way back in 2015, I wanted to make a game that consisted of at least 10 chapters. I learned very quickly such a thing would not be possible for a single-person developer to make within a relatively short time frame.

Instead, I tried condensing some key elements to 4 chapters, but even then--I only ever touched upon about 5% of the complete plot.

As a result, I tried reworking everything and changed how the games would progress. Chapter 4′s ending was already set in stone, but the way as to which the previous chapters would head towards that goal were tweaked. Characters were cut. Backstories and dialogue and many scenes were taken out since the games are very art heavy.

I figured the easiest way for me to get around drawing so many assets that would only be seen once was to reuse them--for example, the NPC sprites which were repeated within a few chapters. It worked [for me, at least], since they fit into the whole Noël ‘reliving’ his memories throughout all four chapters.

I may not make games anymore, but I still continue work on Träumerei as a series of novels on Amazon. Unlike the games, the storyline within the books are completely linear and will feature a lot of the other characters [such as Azelle, Rue, etc.]. They will also contain stories that I couldn’t include withn the games due to time constraints. For example, two of the chapters in volume 1 center around giant birds who wear masks made from human faces, while others reflect a bit more on rarely seen characters such as Delia.

After this, I plan to work on a [completely unrelated] Webtoon by 2024, but that’s kind of getting off-topic.

Sorry for the essay, but now that the games are all 100% done, I wanted to talk about my game-making process a little bit! Thank you again for taking the time to read all of this, because gosh, I wrote a lot more than I intended. ^^;

alright back to kubera, timey wimey shenanigans and maruna growing a conscious.

so kuberas one of those series where spoilers dont change the experience so i knew yaksha was going to show up but ah im so excited yaksha and og airavata??? thank you currygom. oh yeah and we got more on brilith's soul's past i guess.

huh so the ancient human cycle of reincarnation is breaking down. ptsd is being inherited across lives. humans were suppose to regain memories of their past lives when their minds and bodies were fully matured but violent deaths are leading to them regaining their memories before their minds are ready to deal with the trauma and as a result instead trraging each life seperately like we saw with the humans maruna interacted with, the humans ran meets there is no seperation between one life and the next its bluring together and thr grudges are growing as people life out the past. I love it!

...thats ananta. damn currygom is going HARD this arc, all the big names are here. also i just love ananta, yaksha, and og airavata having a breakfast club. ananta is half way to having the dead anime mom hair but joking aside the two foofy braids are super cute. currygom.... why you keep killing off all the nice ones... oh no yaksha has bad regeneration doesnt he... ok i just spent a week with a literal toddler and yeah gandharva

ok i cant tell how much of this heart talk is metaphorical and how much is literal ie yaksha physical heart is effecting ran emotionally. now that i think about it why is hanuman in their female form in the current timeline. wait maruna couldnt interact with another alive in the current time but ran can? i love yaksha why are all my favorite characters doomed. LET ME PROTECT THE CUTE OLD MAN. he's even white haired, has a tail, and is fluffy! fluffy! ran is watee attribute like yaksha too. wait i just remembered samphati told maruna that ideally a natiska parent would mentor a 5th stage rakshasa since 5th stage vigor and what not works more like a natuska and isnt that what yaksha is doing for ran. oh so this is what they meant by suras natures are to destroy. natiskas take of their attribues and astika create

ah so ran's half phobia isn't just trauma from the cataclysm but being afraid of himself. yeah where'd the wind transcendendal come from, ran is water water water

this cute old man is bad for my heart. also ananta is precious. maruna continues to underestimate people but i will say him mistaking to most powerful being to have ever exisged in the universe for a 4th stage rakshasa ia pretty funny.

yaksha is basically a catboy. that explains a lot actually.

im enjoying the characterization of sagara. to sagara power is everything. ananta just wants everyone to be happy, he's uncomfortable with exterminating the ancient humans but he'll do it for sagara. this isnt true to himself or what he wants but he'll be what those around him want him to be. oh wow so the name/role of ananta was designed to take on a portion of every sin ever in the universe. also callback to brilith's conversations on whether its better to have gods that are too weak to do anything or have the power but choose not to help. oh shit and by brahma asking his consent in the destruction of the ancient humans (and ensuring it via sagara) she ensured the sins of killing them would fall on to him.

oh and somethings up with tilda but we dont know what yet. shes going to be important

where is marunas coat? mmmm head hurts... so gods forget things so that they arent weighted down by desires and reach the top/enlightenment. but once they reach the top the dont have to keep forgetting? about doomed willarav(??) all the deaths are turning point in which the characters didin't choose compassion. this is also the outcome that kali averted. ok im with maruna ran is giving me bad vibes. oooooo the maruna ran raltara gandharva situation! the tension! the drama! i was so caught up if the eye of punishment was going to be used by maruna or shess that a couple years ago i didnt even consider the possibility of a new character.

we also see the payoffs of the weight of time and the other side as well ran and maruna have come to see things from the other side (sura and humans). as others have pointed out maruna has spent several millennia among humans and discarded the sura cultural mentalities taught to him (obey superiors, no compassion etc which we see directly in his confrontation with samphati but everywhere after this time adventure) and taken a mentality closer to that of the first ancient humans. if humans using silent magic is said to lessen their humanity and make them more like sura ruthless calculating and cold, the maruna has become more human. the opposite is true of ran having spent many years living as a rakshasa and living far beyond a human lifespn. literally he has become more in tune with his sura side coming to terms with his grand parent being hanuman, yaksha's heart within him, and his power which killed his mother and he attacked the two next most important people to him lutz and rana. silent magic was said to need a desire for power, a lack of compassion for ones enemies, and a willingness to give up everything for one's goals. and mentally his mindset has been shifting from that of a humans to the one we usually see in sura. remember when he was introduced ran was the nicest character in the cast after leez.

so god kubera put the konchez party in a transcendental to stop their minds from merging with the maruna and ran of the current chapter. but thats what made them too late to stop taraka dying and 4th stage yuta. unless they wouldn't have made it aahhhhhhhh my head hurts i infinite possibilities gah! time travel! anyways but im still not sure what god kubera wants to begin with. wait no the mental transcendental preserved the minds of their former selves. the merge did happen that's how the clothes got "restored". oh yeah i forgot former kubera drew the sword of re before giving it to leez.

one of the currygom afterwords or something mentioned it but there's many more characters recently that do not neatly fit into the established boxes. perhaps its because at the beginning and and ending of the universe reality is looser. we have confirmation that yaksha clan bunny girl petupan that ran met has a chaos attribute but other sura we have met has chaos-ish aspects to them like other bunnygirl sona who maybe could be petupan's daughter? curiosly hanuman has a weird left arm when ran met him but doesnt in the modern day. then there's taraka that maintained their minds and forms like samphati and makara. then we have ran whos a human rakshasa (hanuman wondering if they forgot about a child with yaksha is still funny)

3-195 the other side 13 is the last we see maruna with his red fluffy coat in a flashback with raltara. it isnt seen until maruna goes to the abandoned timeline or n23

its probably intentional on currygoms part that yaksha's source attribute is water and that the inheritor of his heart ran was born with 3 water attributes. the interesting part is when ran starts using wind transcendentals and hanuman's source attribute is wind. so its almost as if he were a rakshasa with light as a clan attribute and water and wind as heteditary attributes. what im not sure of is in the fight with maruna ran seems to use some sort of lightning based attack and i cant quite remember so he either mixed partial surification with divine magic, has a sky attribute???? or there's sky transcendentals that dont require an attribute?

the abyss is the water channel of th sura realm?? omg and maruna cant remember the thing in the abyss that was chasing them because its existence has been replaced with yuta.

1. Aimi pulling the strings to get Yuuki into the band was my favorite. Just how she goes from being some spoiled brat who uses her charms (aka the PHEROMONES she puts on for her live performances!!!) to get free meals to being surprisingly sweet towards Yuuki.

2. Commenter "TrAsh" said it best - Damon truly is "daddy material". In all seriousness, it was hard to pick between him and Aimi, just due to how much I love Aimi's surprisingly brilliant trickster personality but... I just feel so bad for Damon, I want to give him a hug

3. Have you met Karen? Hmm... I suppose it could be some major argument, or Damon wanting to focus more on the band, but it may just be that they grew further apart as people...

4. (has anyone besides Monica actually said this? i don't recall) Anyway, I think Aimi failed as an idol because she sabotages every piece of equipment in sight if she doesn't like some aspect of the performance/recording session (the songs, the people she's working with, etc). Was she justified in ruining a bunch of careers (including her own) like that? Well... idol industries in the real world are pretty exploitative, so probably.

QUESTION 6. Cloverlines has suffered several changes in band line-ups. Do you think Aussie might try to return to the band? Alternatively, how might his solo career affect the group? What about Monica? Will she manage to stick with the band despite tension?

would like to chime in for a bit above: having it be a fictional religion allows for less baggage when depicting its effects i feel, cause I wanna show what are the effects of it, without any risk of offending reasonable people otherwise

it's good to have an objective view on something inherently subjective, and fictionalizing the aesthetic elements allows a way for that

Yeah for sure, things are safer with fictional concepts but I think real ones can be good to depends I guess. It’s super fun to make up stuff though

QUESTION 7. Despite the band focus, the world in the story keeps turning. How might the recent terrorist events affect Cloverlines or other bands? Who do you think Mirai was? What others aspects of the world caught your attention?

okay time to answer some questions. 1) My favorite scene so far is the one where Damon and Karen have dinner. I really liked all the subtle and not so subtle ways it showcased the state of their relationship. this is not to mention that i liked it wasnt even technically about their relationship, it was about Rinne. the fact it became about their relationship felt both very realistic and very revealing. 2) Damon. I think he has the most compelling of the conflicts and hes the most sensible of the group. He provides an essential grounding influence in the fact of everyone else being a bit more exaggerated, and if anyone is gonna make the band succeed, its damon. also, he has great hair. 3) I assume what happened is exactly what we saw at dinner: they have a personality clAsh. In the end though, I'm gonna theorize that Karen probably pushed Damon a bit too hard..maybe to succeed in music, and Damon just bailed because it wasn't the way he wanted to do it. overall, though, i think the route of their problems stems from the fact that damon is ambitious and laid back while karen is ambitious and aggressive. i think karen will sign the divorce papers eventually. but she's definitely going to cling for a while. however, i think shell slowly ease off as stuff with rinne starts to happen and changes some of the dynamic of the story. 4) Have you met Aimi? XD That is what happened. Aimi is 1000% not the type to follow orders and will do whatever she wants. Thus, this would make her a poor idol since shed be told constantly where to go and what to wear for her image. Damon is a saint for not having fired her. XD Overall, though, the fact she might be a "failed idol" is irrelevant i think. at the end what will have consequences is aimi continuing to do as aimi do.

5) Yuuki seems pretty well-adjusted as is, so he'll probably be fine. I do think there's gonna be more issues with Yuuki as part of the band though. Cause they basically hired him out of desperation and of the two gigs weve seen, we got weird guitar sound one and blasphemy one. so i think as a whole we havent gotten to see a good demonstration of whether yuuki is good or not. so it might take a while for him to fit in with the band. but to be fair, id say this about most of the members. they really need to work on their synergy as a band imo XD. i think yuuki will only become homesick if his fleet comes near enough he could viably go home. cause then its a tangible goal versus some theoretical could do it thing. 6) Idk if will, but I do think it'd be interesting to see Aussie go "i want to come back." Create some drama where the group has to pick between Aussie and Yuuki and test the limits. Solo career wise I think it might actually help the group. If Aussie is successful and is like "i was in that band" others might take more of an interest. As far as Monica goes, she'll probably stick around. I think the worst of the tension already came and went. 7) I assume the terrorist attacks will keep up and they will inadvertantly expose Rinne and cause all the scandal. Though given the comic's tone I can't really forsee any serious consequences. As for Mirai, IDK. Good question. I assume it was a real person who did something significant which is somewhat interesting to consider. For the world in general I'm really curious about how spread out the population is. Cause the galaxy is a big place. And the astronomy nerd in me wonders what the travel technology is like.

anyway my guess is that Mirai is just some robot's rights revolutionary dude, and any surviving sentient robots seem to treat them like some sort of deity. don't think Monica is Mirai though. Rinne just gets confused easily.

also what does Rinne create? sick beats! next question!

i want to see them do more shows! yuuki doesn't have all that much experience under his belt and... honestly, I just want to see a performance where he isn't playing a song ten seconds after finding out about it

8) I definitely don't think Monica is Mirai. I'm starting to think Mirai is an artifical intelligence maybe. Or was a person who made artificial intelligence which is kind of a big deal. but this is what's happening to rinne. she's tapping into some sort of programming that expresses mirai's ultimate desires for her creations. that being said, i do think karen is right to be concenred. not because rinne is dangerous, but because shes right. if its illegal, their band is gonna be screwed if they get discovered. 9) i somewhat agree with the joke answer that they gotta do something about aimi. i feel they wont succeed as long as they continue to tolerate her impulsive willfulness. not to say theyll have no success, but theres a diff levels of success and theyll never become top tier if her shenanigans continue to bury them in controversy. 10) as i said before, i really would like to see more concerts with the band in general. cause i think its an important experience for them to bond as a band and as characters. i also look forward to karen moving past damon because i think itll be interesting to see how she finally matures enough to reach the conclusion.
