1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
149
2. What's your Ao3 word count?
361,707 words.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Wednesday currently. Teen Wolf for six years. Harry Potter, Hannibal, Thorki, Starker, Twilight (Bella/Carlisle and Bella/Aro), The Umbrella Academy (not that i got very far before getting obsessed with wyler), and Madrigalcest (Primarily Brumira)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Overall?
Fuck It (Steter, Teen Wolf, 3,396)
When it Needs Fixing (Steter, Teen Wolf, 3,339)
Hostile Takeover (Steter, Teen Wolf, 2,781)
Absolution (Steter, Teen Wolf, 2,691)
Wandering in the Dark (Steter, Teen Wolf, 2,250)
In Wednesday?
Her Monster (Wyler, 708)
Hold Me Close (Wyler, 593)
Revelations (Wyler, 499)
Warning, She Bites (Wyler, 464)
Impressing Wednesday Addams (Wyler, 387)
5. Do you respond to comments?
Sometimes. I reply when I have something meaningful to add. Otherwise it'd get very repetitive and generic and that kind of soulless connection isn't really the point of this kind of thing. I adore my comments nonetheless and I read them a lot.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Hold on. I gotta skim my list.
update: i do not remember some of these fics or what happened in them
Maybe Modi the Brave (MCU, Thorki). This was an angsty fanfic of a fanfic. There was a happy ending in the original fic, The Rescue by madwriter223
I'm not counting Absolution because it was immediately followed by a sequel. But technically, it did get me the most angry sobbing comments which i treasure to this day.
The Final Straw was angsty but it was also dumb and half-cocked and the closest thing to an embarrassment on this account. It was literally just a half-thought half-scene of my 18yo self's emotional state in 2018 that is very evident that I wrote this angrily in study hall. I wrote a lot of fic in that high school during classes. Like a lot. It was my school computer. I got plenty of use out of it. There was no structure or coherent plot. I didn't even hint at anything deeper to be explored in your own minds. I didn't want to look at it long enough or think about it long enough. I just wanted it out of my head. If I didn't have a strict no deleting my works policy, or hiding from my past art policy, I would probably have deleted it within the week of posting. I do not understand how it has the kudos, subscriptions, and bookmarks that it has. I guess it resonated. Good for y'all. I mean it.
Literally just the entirety of Tyler's Bad Year is meant to be about a very traumatic time in a young man's life and him surviving it. I'm not going to go through them and try to pick out "the worst" one. That's not really the point and it'd be largely subjective.
I'll Eat You Raw has an angsty ending but angstiest? I'm not sure.
I don't write a lot of bad endings. Open endings? sure. Complicated endings? Absolutely. But unhappy endings? No. I don't often have the desire.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Jesus fuck we want to be here all day? Ok lemme look through shit again.
Wandering in the Dark has a whole story behind it. There was actually two versions. Only one was posted to ao3 and is the "canon" version. I wrote this fic for a high school assignment my senior year. We were assigned to pick a chronic disease out of a literal hat, then write a story around it. We had complete creative control so I took that chance to write teen wolf steter fanfic in class and actually have it be on task for once (I got an A in that class btw). The reason my teacher got a dark ending version is because by the time he got back to me on the maximum word count, I'd already finished the canon version and it was way too long. I couldn't trim the fat, so I wrote a different ending to shorten the story. That version is one of the angstier stories I've written. The one posted and linked above, is the very happy by comparison. This fic is also designed to be read by someone who doesn't know shit about teen wolf.
Through Thick and Thin was also extremely happy. As is Her Monster. Benevolent Gods was meant to be very hopeful. The Hale Pack (Undying) was the end to a series that was my baby for a long time . Like long enough you can see my writing evolve as you go. Part one was one of the first things i ever wrote. Like ever. The last part was years later. Jasper was meant to be a very light-hearted, happy story as well. It's extremely sweet and fluffy. You was also very happy and the epilogue cemented that happiness. Warning: She Bites literally had a happy end that unknowingly prevented a main character committing suicide in the near future. Saving lives by being horny. Wednesday Evening, and every installment in that series, is excessively happy as well.
Alright I ran through my list of fics. These were the ones that stood out. There's too many to really commit to one answer tbh. Especially because the way they're happy varies.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really. Or. Well. I'm sure I do. I block antis on sight and I wholly reject purity culture, and I haven't really been the target of a major attack or anything. I don't get as many hateful comments as one might think, and I don't entertain the ones I do get. I've been accused of vile shit of course because of a fic I wrote. I don't remember what fic or even what ship it was for because I don't dwell on them really at all. Aside from that, I get more entitled but probably ignorant to how they come off as entitled comments that aren't really that big a deal. Just a bit of a peeve sometimes. I honestly think the majority of them truly believe it's a kind gesture when they say it.
9. Do you write smut? What kind?
Yeah. You could say that.
What kind? In a word? Intense. I could make a joke or a long elaboration on my niche in hyde sex and whatnot, but at the end of the day, intense. Even my most laid back, domestic, slice of life fics have a sense of intensity to them because otherwise I get bored and it feels soulless and it's just not my writing style.
10. Do you write cross-overs?
When I feel like it. When I have an idea.
11. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! I have a steter fic on a russian fic website that was translated years ago. I have no idea which it was or if it's still there. Wait! I might remember. Yeah no. I don't remember. It wasn't the one I thought of.
12. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
No. I've started to outline one before but it went nowhere and we both forgot about it.
13. What WIP you would like to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Harry Potter and the Night that Changed Everything.
I had a whole novel basically planned for it. Writing Bellatrix and a Harry who was raised by Bellatrix took a lot out of me emotionally, and I lost steam.
Also, a Bella Swan/Marcus Vulturi fic that i also had a novel length plot planned out, wrote three chapters for, and then lost steam when I left the fandom due to getting the life sucked out of me by a bunch of toxic people in the fandom killing my joy. Those chapters are just collecting dust in my files right now. I'd like to go back to it one day and finish it in some form or another. Maybe it's original enough I could actually just write an original novel out of the scraps I already have. Actually, to be honest, it is probably original enough that I could write it as an original story. There is not a lot of Twilight there that is necessary to the story and can easily be written out. Something to think about maybe. Ironically not the first prompt I thought up initially for Twilight that I then realized nothing about Twilight was necessary for the idea I had, and I just wrote it without Bella entirely. This is how my original zombie novel started and then immediately evolved into an entirely different thing that has nothing to do w Twilight. Like literally nothing. I had to work to put the Twilight into that one. Not the other way around.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
wyler (steter and tomarry honorary).
15. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue and characterization
16. What are your writing weaknesses?
pacing. movement heavy scenes. Longer projects if only because I have less practice at them.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
Yeah. If it fits, I'll write it. I won't pretend to be fluent, but I'll do my best. Probably won't do anything too complicated for the sake of realism of my abilities. Especially if it's not Spanish which I at least have spent time trying to learn.
18. First fandom you wrote for?
Teen Wolf
19. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Listen...
We've established how well I am at picking one end all number one.
Fuck ok. back to the list.
Water of the Womb was one I was planning to write for almost a year and it turned out pretty good I think. Actually no.
No. It's not a fic that's been posted yet.
I think the favorite fic I've ever written is I Bit Him So He's Mine. it's my "Wednesday is a Hyde season one rewrite au". It's my first novel that is more than just a future novel. It's hit 40k and I have to start Act 2 still. It's my first proper murder mystery where the mystery is the primary plot equal to the romance. I've had a lot of fun with it, I've put my heart and soul into it, and I really look forward to calling it ready to post. Once it's done, you guys are getting regular updates for a long time.
20. What fic would you want to rewrite one day?
Out of the Fire haunts me. It was a lesson to learn. I had the desire to write a steter/hannigram crossover and zero plan of any kind outside that. It crashed and burned because I only had a first chapter in me. I recently met a local and successful author who recognized my ao3 username because of this fic and remembered me years later enough to compliment my writing (I cannot express how much that meant to me). Wait no that might have been Mark of an Angel which also haunts me, but I didn't have zero plan. I had almost no plan, and lost steam when I hit a creative block at a bad time. Normally, I'd have just sat down and workshopped a starter outline and wrote myself out of that block, but I lost steam so I never did. Different deal. Not as impactful in my creative journey. Out of the Fire, however, was very important to me because of why it failed, and remains very influential with every new project I start. Actually rewriting/finishing that project would be a defining moment for me as a writer, I think. At least to me personally.

Hii! I'd really appreciate if you could recommend me fics where Stiles leaves Beacon Hills and makes new friends. (He may or may not return to BH later) thank you!
I do!

The Truth of It by alisvolatpropiis
(1/1 I 2,158 I Mature I Sterek)
Derek took the picture late one night the summer between Stiles’ junior and senior years of college, the last of their four summers together.
Or not-together. The last of their four summers of whatever it was they were to each other in those years, fucking nonstop and spending nearly every waking moment together for three months at a time, both of them aggressively maintaining the it’s-just-sex-it-doesn’t-mean-anything rule they set their very first time together, the night of the pack’s high school graduation party when, slightly drunk, Stiles kissed him for the first time, determined and eager, heart pounding in Derek’s ears.
Not Your Emissary by sapphireginger
(1/1 I 2,428 I Teen I Steter)
Stiles squeezed his mate’s hand to soothe the angered alpha and watched Scott puff out his chest in a pitiful attempt to be intimidating. “No.”
“NO?!” Scott growled. “What do you mean no? This isn’t negotiable. You're my pack!”
“Am I?” Stiles asked calmly.
Scott hesitated and nodded firmly. “Yes.”
Stiles shrugged one shoulder. “I love Peter and he loves me. I’m not leaving with you, and you can’t make me.”
“Wanna bet?!” Scott snarled.
Peter’s control was rock solid, airtight, never faltering. His presence alone was enough to drive fear into the hearts of most. It was always a turn on to see the alpha put people in their places.
We'll be Better Around the Second Time by Cantabo
(12/12 I 26,589 I Mature I Sterek)
It's been months. Months of fading contact with the pack. Months of the silent treatment from his father. Months of nothing but himself and the occasional lesson with Deaton to entertain him.
It's too much, and eventually, Stiles leaves.
For years, everything goes great, until of course his dad gets injured, and he is suddenly forced to deal with people he thought he left behind in his past for good.
OR: Stiles gets pushed out of the pack, hits the road, makes new friends, learns how to grow up, and falls in love.

(1/1 I 28,906 I Mature I Sterek)
“Who needed you?” Stiles asked, uncapping his water.
“Hm?” Cole had been looking out at something in the field, and he focussed back on Stiles then. “What?”
“You said it comes about when someone needs us. Who needed you?”
He probably shouldn’t have asked, because Cole looked sad all of a sudden. Like he hadn’t thought about becoming a Sorcerer in a long time. Stiles could see that being what he was had cost him greatly, and he couldn’t help but wonder if he was going to run into the same problem.
“A friend,” Cole said quietly. “Someone who was very dear to me. But I didn’t get there fast enough.”
Stiles paused in recapping his water, pressing his lips together. “What happened?”
“I waited too long to help them.”
At Our Ex-Spence by sapphireginger
(26/31 I 41,923 I Explicit I Steter)
Stiles is ready to leave Beacon Hell Hole-Beacon Hills-behind. An offer to join the FBI is his ticket out of there. A blue eyed wolf follows along, and Stiles doesn't mind a bit.
On the other side of the US an amber eyed man puts on his glasses and gets out of bed. His first day at the FBI is almost here. "Stu?" the man's girlfriend calls out. "Coming!" he replies and rejoins her in their bedroom.
Stiles is about to start his FBI training. He meets two people of major significance on his first day. Life gets even more complicated, and he has so many questions. However, he's not sure who he trusts to give him the correct answers-to give him the truth.
I've Been Everywhere With You by Leslie_Knope
(10/10 I 61,551 I Explicit I Sterek)
“Dude, you should totally come with me.”
“What? Like on the road trip?"
“No, come with me. To Austin. Get out of Beacon Hills.”
Derek paused. “What?” he asked again.
When It Comes To Being Lucky by sterekcrush
(46/? I 157,701 I General I Sterek)
Derek Hale doesn't do love. He's tried twice; the first time it made him a killer, and the second time cost him his whole world.
So he doesn't do love, and he definitely doesn't love Stiles. He doesn't care about Stiles' new powers or the fact that Stiles has been talking to Derek's dead mother, or even the fact that for some reason supernatural creatures from all over the country are sending Stiles offers of courtship.
But when Stiles claims he's not part of Derek's pack and takes off for parts unknown...well, maybe Derek cares a little after all.
Guardian by Lerya
(100/100 I 202,041 I Mature I Steter)
After Stiles finally realises how little he means to Scott, and how little his opinions and even his research mean to the 'true Alpha', he's had enough. With most of the original Hale pack getting away from the Hellhole that is Beacon Hills, he prepares to do the same. The extra addition wasn't planned, but most welcomed, as was an invite by the counsel.
He could do this, going around the world, helping other Supernaturals, getting to know the world, and learning about himself and the community.
Manipulated by DearDaisy (Scribblesnpaws)
(30/30 I 221,251 I Mature I Sterek)
Nine years ago, Scott kicked Stiles out of the pack. Stiles left and never returned. But now his dad has been hurt, so Stiles returns to take care of him. No one knows the truth of what happened back then, not even Scott or Stiles. But that's about to change.

✨ Fic Writing Review 2023 ✨
tagged by the love @dear-massacre uwu
Words and Fics
According to AO3: 295,177 words posted, however, I did a lot of art for events this year, so this number isn't wholly accurate.
I actually wrote and posted 122,354 which is actually WAY more than I thought I did?
1 fandom represented: Teen Wolf (but I'm a multi-shipper, so many ships hehe)
Most Recent Drop: TECHNICALLY mu submissions to @sterekreversechallenges's past participant server event, 1000 Cakes, but the work featured is still anonymous, so I can't count it here.
Most Recent Drop (readable): 'My Whole Life is a Reference to the 1995 Hit Movie Clueless and I Still Don't Know the Plot' by Fall Out Boy (Stackson, T, 2k)
Longest Fic according to my stats page: Yoda Said It Best by @okdeannawrites (Sterek, E, 99k+) (I did the illustrations)
Longest Fic I actually wrote: Under My Skin (Stackson, E, 59k+)
Top Fics by Kudos (I'm including 6 because 1 of my top 5 isn't mine lol)
Grandma, What a Big Dick You Have! (the better to fuck you with my dear) (Sterek, E, 5k+)
Yoda Said It Best (Not my fic) (Sterek, E, 99k+)
Higher Education (you can confess when you're stone-cold sober) (Sciles, E, 6k+)
Under My Skin (Stackson, E, 59k+)
Daisies and Daffodils (You Make Me Smile) (Sterek, T, 3k+)
Thirsty (Stiles/Scott/Derek, M, <2k)
My fandom fic events in 2023
I THRIVE on events. They've been absolutely integral to my ability to write fic this year, and I'm really proud of what I've done. That said - I absolutely participated in WAY too many. There are a number of fics that I was involved with that don't show up in my ao3 stats and that's okay! I'ma just... list them out akdjhgk
7 fics (or 13,394 words) this year were posted for the Stiles Shipping Server's monthly ficlet exchange.
2 fics and 4ish art pieces were done for the @stacksonreversebang
1 fic was written for the Sterek VDay Exchange, but my participation was revoked.
1 art was posted for @stetervalentines2023
3 arts and 1 podfic were posted for the @steter-bang
1 fic was posted for the @teenwolfminibang
1 art was posted for the @teenwolfminibang
1 item was posted for the @sterekreversechallenges 1000 cakes event
2 Major arts and uh at least 4 minors arts were posted for the @wipbigbang
1 fic (and my longest solo fic ever) was written for the @wipbigbang
1 art which is not currently posted but will be revealed by the end of the year is for the @stereksecretsanta
Upcoming Events and Projects for 2024
The first thing that's going to be 'posted' is the Sterek Reverse Challenges 1000 Cakes anonymous work, which will be revealed Jan 6th.
Events:
Stiles Shipping Server monthly ficlet exchange - many more months will be participated in again
@sterekposevents - probably gonna write smth for this next year (stares forlornly at my unfinished summer wip)
If the Stackson Reverse Bang runs again, I will absolutely participate in that, but i will definitely not commit to 4 projects!!!!
Absolutely the next go around for Sterek Reverse Challenges!!! I love reverse bangs (and bang in general)
If I do the Steter bang again I will not sign up for as many projects because I did too much all at once and it was stressful.
I will likely participate in at least 1 vday event and at least 1 santa event. (:
There is one event I will definitely be participating in but the event itself has not been announced yet so I won't talk about it... publicly. If you're into Sterek and Events you can DM me for Spoilers though~ ;*
Projects:
Addabge Dmaddiage - Sterek MedFantasy Omegaverse Arranged Married Dark-ish fic. Currently Writing
Higher Education 2: Electric Boogaloo - I already have over 2k written, I just need to finish it.
Vampire!Stiles Sterek fic, which I will hopefully be doing for one of the events
Stackson MedFantasy Bastard Prince x Freedom Fighter AU
New! Sex for Work - Sterek office sex AU: Next chapter and/or Rewrite and/or Finish (low priority)
Sciles in Ancient Greece - this is possibly more of a long form poem than fic? We'll see how it goes ? low priority
Rules, Tags & Rambling below the cut!
I technically have a massive list of WIPs and Prompts I am constantly working from. I pick the ideas when they feel happy in my brain for "free time" writing - I actually meant to work on the office sex AU for the month of december but got whacked upside the head with Addabge Dmaddiage. UMS was my FIRST "long fic" ever so I am... feeling really, really invigorated.
in 2021 I climbed out of my writing hole where I hadn't written seriously in over a decade. That year, I wrote and shared 22,418 words by myself, and wrote half of a 69,599 (incomplete, part 1) role-play fic with a friend. At the start of 2022, I watched teen wolf for the first time because @sinnabon-cosplay is a menace and can't be stopped. It lit an absolute FIRE beneath me and I lost all control of my life. I started writing and drawing with a wholly renewed fury. I started doing way more events and wrote and posted 40,247 words. At the end of the year, I thought to myself - wow, wouldn't it be cool if i doubled my word count again? 80k? haha, that probably won't happen though. I'll be excited if I write and post 60k.
YALL. I wrote and posted 60k in ONE FIC. I wrote and posted over 120k?????? that's INSANE to me. I haven't had that much drive to create since I was in high school.
Teen Wolf is like... fixing my brain chemistry. I feel so invigorated.
Despite some setbacks with some REALLY unfortunate Sterek fans at the start of my experience here nearly tanking my creative drive, I've managed to stay on track without totally losing my love for the ship because of some rotten eggs. Shoutout to all my homies keeping the space worth hanging around in. I appreciate yall so much <3
Rules: Feel free to show whatever stats you have. Only want to show Ao3 stats? Rock on. Want to include some quantitative info instead of stats? Please do this. Want to change how yours is presented? Absolutely do that. Would rather eat glass than do this? Please don’t eat glass but don’t feel like you have to do this either.
Tags: No pressure ANY time from me, i love you I appreciate you I like sharing with you. Don't wanna play, don't worry about it <3 @clotpolesonly @lucky-bishop @adrianfridge @sinnabon-cosplay @okdeannawrites @foofsterwolf (Sorry i panicked and couldn't remember if u posted FIC on ur main or just original so i tagged ur TW even tho this doesnt have to be TW related) @just-another-busy-fangirl-writes @lavender-lotion

20 Questions for Fic Writers
I got tagged by the lovely @lavender-lotion 💕💕💕 Thank you, dear!!
How many works do you have on ao3?
53, translations (of my own works) included!
What's your total ao3 word count?
I just cracked the 200k with How wrong you are! :D
What fandoms do you write for?
Currently mostly (like, 99% of the time) Teen Wolf, though I do dabble in Assassin's Creed (Desmond lives!!!!!) and sometimes I post original stuff.
Top five fics by kudos:
Wolf Heart
Intruder
Loyality
Dead on Time
Not afraid
All of them Teen Wolf and Steter 😂💕
Do you respond to comments?
Yes! I try to answer all of them!
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Ouf, that's a hard question? I don't like to end stuff angsty - I need my happy endings. So I think currently the angstiest is probably Dead on Time bc of a slight cliffhanger/foreshadowing thingie for the next parts?
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I have literally no idea o_O... As I said before I do like to end on happy endings (or at least something intriguing and hopeful) so I'd say most of my stories have the same kind of happy ending?
Do you get hate on fics?
Luckily not yet! Usually most people mean well and are nice even if they sometimes phrase their words weird. I did get a (for me) lot of comments asking if I abbandoned a certain fic, though, which rankled and baffled me the same way?
It's The little things, which is currently on Hiatus bc I had to concentrate on the Secret Santa I wrote at the time and I decided that I would chance my MO and try to finish the story before I would return to posting chapters! Because the pressure of writing and posting (and not being able to do so) in a certain time frame was burning me out!
So, just for the record: None of my fics/WIPs are abbandoned! If they were I'd write it in the author's notes and/or tag them as such!
Do you write smut?
No!
Craziest crossover:
Probably Hello World, which is currently just the first chapter/more like a prologue because I had too many WIPs at the time and decided to concentrate on other stories.
It's supposed to be a Murderbot Crossover where Peter's a technician/programmer on the ship the Hales own and who makes an AI he's programmed and called Stiles (who got messed up by a virus) into a construct that's learning how to live.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not as far as I know! Knock on wood and all that!
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not by other people! But I do translate my own stuff! I started with writing in my first language (German) and translated my stuff to english, though by now I mostly write english. So if someone wants to read something in German, they can just ask (nicely) and I see that I'll get the story translated!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
not really, no.
All time favourite ship?
I can't really answer that question 😂 I love all the ships I love forever 😂 Even from the fandom that shouldn't be named, I still love the same ships I've loved for years.
But I'll say that Steter has a special place in my heart, since I mostly write them?
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't think I currently have a Wip like that?
What are your writing strengths?
I'm good with knitting plot points together and explaining inconsistencies away 😂 Also I do think I'm good at getting a certain vibe across and I have good ideas
What are your writing weaknesses?
I'm not good with descriptions - especially when it's about facial expressions or emotions! Also I think I tend to soften the edges of the characters I write - or at least it feels like I do that!
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Depends on how the author's using it? I'm not entirely against it and as long as I get either a translation (i.e. with a foot note or because the character translates the words or at least their meaning), it's a generally known phrase (like Alea iacta est) or you can interpret it by context clues, I'm okay with it! It actually makes me want to dive back into learning more languages, to I'd say that's a plus 😂
First fandom you wrote in?
Vision of Escaflowne! It was a Mary Sue-ish self-insert and is lost to time and me clumsily stumbling over and thus crashing the external harddrive it was saved on 😂 I'm both sad and glad about that 😂😂
Favorite fic you've written?
Aaand ending with a really hard question, I see 😂😂
uuh... I do love most of my stuff, but for some reason one of the shorter ones, No Love Letters, has a special place in my heart? :3 I do like the whole scene - even if it isn't much more! 😂
Low-/no-pressure tagging for @aurevell, @midmorning-bomb, @dear-massacre, @tkwritesdumbassassins, @vmures, @meggie-stardust

20 questions for fic writers!
Got tagged by both @clotpolesonly and @thotpuppy
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Currently 42 buuuut many of them are 100 word drabbles that I spared people from lumping everything into one work with chapters. Also I have a bunch of Tumblr archived meta posts
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
179,671
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Teen Wolf
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Happy Endings are for Winners (17,770 words, Explicit, Stackson)
Dirty Secrets (10,349 words, Explicit, Jacksterek)
When We Were Monsters (56,437 words, Explicit, Stackson)
Fill Me With Your Memory (26 words, Stackson, archive of photomanips)
When the Dumb Collide (1,582 words, Stackson)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do if there’s something to respond to. I feel weird shouting Thank You to every single one of them
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Woof. I tend to write Angst with a Happy Ending, so there isn’t anything too bittersweet. I guess the closest I have is Tremors In My Bones (5,712 words, Explicit, Steo) that’s more behind the scenes of season 5A
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The most sappiest ending is obviously in my fic titled Happy Endings are for Winners
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Thankfully not!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I live for the smut. And I can get very kinky about it. Like in any of my fics featuring Theo, who needs to get roughly railed
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
No crossovers for me
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
No thank god
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Sadly no
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I tried! The WIP fell through
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
Guess 🤭
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I do have a BadWrong Steter in my WIPs but I doubt I’ll finish it 🥲
16. What are your writing strengths?
I feel like I’m good at being visceral? Like if I want my reader to feel a certain way, I usually accomplish it
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Being SLOW AS FUCK 😤
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I’ve done something like that in my original fiction, but ehhh I’ve found the outcome is awkward
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Teen Wolf
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Hard to answer because Dirty Secrets was like a hyperfixation steamroller of feels, When We Were Monsters was like my magnum opus of Stackson
TAGGING: you, yes you, unless you were tagged already lmao

Hi! This is inspired by your reblog of the talk shop tuesday post -- do you have any secret-until-now fanworks you're working on that you want to talk about? any ideas that have been percolating and you want to share?
I think - because I've started doing WiP Wednesday with ... some (not a lot, haha) of regularity that there's very few things that I'm actively working on right now that I haven't talked about to some extent but I have no problem gathering them all here. I have five fics that I'm noodling on at the moment.
How to Breathe 101. I've probably talked about this one the most because it is absolutely the closest to finished. I have random snippets all over the place on my tumblr that I've collected here: 1 2 3 4. And it comes from my love of the dynamic of Character A falls first, Character B falls harder as well as giving Derek the time and space to work out his trauma and form relationships beyond romantic ones.
Heartbeat Hustle. This was such a nothing idea that I kind of just farted around on because I wasn't feeling adding a hundred words (my daily word count goal) to any of the things that I was already working on and I came up with this: here. And it's another one I just keep randomly chipping away at. The basic premise is Derek finally hears Stiles' heartbeat at rest around him and it becomes the background noise of his entire universe without realizing it because it's just such a comforting sound for him.
PvW, Chapter 3. Yes, I'm working on it. Slowly, but I am. Chapter 3 of Prostitute vs Werewolf. (1 and 2 here). I'm still hoping it'll end at Chapter 6. I... sort of have a plan here, lol.
Steter Hanahaki. I accidented myself into this fic, which I posted about: here. Sometimes I like to just search tags on AO3 rather than fandoms and all the most popular Teen Wolf ones for Peter and Stiles that I came across were, well.... not the fun way and I have unfortunately kept chipping away at this even though writing Peter (and it is from his PoV, ugh) is such a hard thing for me to do!
Sciles, Slow Burn, Codependency Fic. I don't really know where this one came from but I think, pretty unsurprisingly, being ace, I like when friendships are the be all and end all for people and I also like when they sort of just slide into.... oops, somehow you're my whole world. And since I haven't posted anything about this one yet and it is my second longest fic on here at the moment, here's a snippet:
It’s an almost-casual college girlfriend who alerts Stiles to exactly the level of codependence he’s now sporting with Scott.  She laughs and clarifies to an acquaintance that the ‘casual’ is at her insistence and the ‘almost’ is at Scott’s.  The follow-up, the ‘why’ is nothing more than a pointed look in Stiles’ direction. Stiles feigns offense, lazily twirls a less-than-dextrous pointer finger back towards his own chest.  Perks an eyebrow.  “Moi?” She grins widely and Stiles senses a sharpness to it that’s likely fueled more by the fewer inhibitions everyone at this party is collectively experiencing, rather than true ill will.  He hopes anyway and, not to brag, but he has gotten pretty good at knowing when things want him dead. Scott chooses that moment to saunter over and instead of perching on the arm of her chair or sliding onto the large cushion of the recliner with her, he bumbles into Stiles, an arm falling around his shoulder as he pushes his drink into his hand so he can set down a plate of steaming nachos on the table in front of them. He’s a warm, familiar weight and only after he’s leaned the whole of himself into Stiles’ side does Stiles realize, if he’d planned this in advance, no part of him would’ve expected Scott to sit anywhere but exactly where he did. Stiles holds Scott’s beer and Scott scrubs a hand over Stiles’ buzzcut, frowns as he peers at Stiles’ expression.  He’s not sure what his face is doing but it prompts Scott to say, “All good?” Stiles blinks.  Swallows.  “Yeah, all’s peachy keen over in this here neck of the woods.” Scott smiles and, as though ‘neck’ was some cue word, he leans over and buries his nose in the crease between neck and shoulder, breathing deeply, and yeah, okay, they’re basically dating.  Stiles can see that but.  You know.  They’ve nearly died how many times between the years of sixteen and nineteen?  They’re entitled to be grotesquely into each other as far as he’s concerned. Maybe they’ve gotten a little worse after the nogitsune.  And the siren that nearly drowned Scott.  And the Lamia that ripped open Stiles’ torso last year.  It’s not unusual for them to fall asleep in the same bed or press lingering kisses to each other’s foreheads, cheeks, necks, but Stiles is pretty sure Scott’s one hundred percent into vagina and, while Stiles’ appetites are more varied, he’s not super interested in Scott’s dick. He’s just interested in Scott, really.  All of Scott, however much of Scott that Scott would like him to be interested in basically.  And since that doesn’t include his dick… that doesn’t include his dick.
Thank you so much for the ask and the interest! <3

20 Questions for fic Writers!
Thanks for the tag @rosieposiepuddingnpie! 💕Anyone who would like to play along, please do, and go ahead and tag me if you'd like! I always love reading these.
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Also 57! Weird coincidence!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
520,472
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Teen Wolf primarily, only one of my published fics is for another fandom (What We Do in the Shadows). I do have WIP fics in that fandom as well as Stranger Things and Hannibal, though I don't know if they'll ever get finished or published haha.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Hearts in the Byline (Steter, 62,395 words) Kinky Antics with the Pack (Kinktober 2020) (Multi-Pairing, 53,103 words) Try, Try Again (Steterek, 35,241 words) The Empty-Nester Alpha (Steter, 16,306 words) Mask of Many Faces (Steter, 22,806 words)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yep! Pretty much all of them! At least all initial comments, and as long as they're made in good faith. Criticism or petty shit I pretty much just ignore. I just know I always like it when authors reply to me, so I like to reply as well. It's a good feeling!!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Depends on how you're defining your angst, but I'm personally going to go with For This I'll Burn where Stiles lets the nogitsune in on purpose. 4,409 words, no pairing.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Tough one! I'd have to say either Foxes and Wolves or The "No-Bite" Rule. They're both Steter HEAs (5,289 and 3,869 words respectively). Forever might look different for Stiles and Peter than it does for other people, but they definitely deserve it.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
I have before. Most of the time I can just shrug it off, and it doesn't really bother me. Like I said, I just don't engage with those bad faith comments. I got one on Hearts in the Byline while I was writing it (I believe it has since been deleted lmfao I couldn't find it) on a chapter that asked if someone else had written it because the quality was so bad and they felt it was so incongruous from the story. It was hurtful and awful and at the time it really sucked. I think I've grown as an author and something like that wouldn't bother me as much anymore, but that was my second or third fic, and the longest one I'd written (and still holds that, I think, lol).
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes :-) Some from my own brain and others requested from me. And all sorts!
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't yet. I have one TW/Buffy crossover WIP that I don't know if I'll ever really get to finish, but I'd like to. It's more of a fusion than a crossover, anyway.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of! Hopefully it stays that way haha.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Once! Someone translated The "No-Bite" Rule into Ukrainian here.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have not! But I would try, I think it seems fun.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
It's gotta be Steter, man.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't know! I would definitely like to finish all my WIPs, but it's probably unrealistic. Writer in the Dark is a Kira/Cora WIP that I started but lost motivation for. I hope to revisit it someday, but if something won't get finished, that's probably it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Character growth! I feel like I do a good job showing how characters have changed through the narrative over time, no matter if that's years or months or even a very impactful night.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Action is definitely one. I struggle to write combat scenarios (the closest I've gotten with it would be in Mission Control, I think). I'm also not always great at balancing background characters/b-plots. I've had comments before like, "where did x character go???" and I'm like "shit. forgot they were here tbh." But I'm working on it!
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I probably wouldn't do it, write dialogue not in English. The only exception might be German, since it's what I studied as a second language, but even then I'm rusty enough that I wouldn't trust it well. Anything else I'd be tossing in Google Translate and hoping for the best, so it's a no-go for me. I've used pet names or short phrases in another language before, but that's really the extent of it.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Technically Marvel but none of what I wrote is up anywhere (that it can be traced back to me, lol, all of those works are orphaned). That I actually count? Teen Wolf.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
I think it has to be Down to the Marrow. I just really, really loved writing that fic. I think it will always have a very special place in my heart. Before then, since it was so recent, I probably would've said Shall We Not Revenge?

Peter can feel how much everything has been weighing on him lately. He can see it's been affecting Stiles just as much - the slumped shoulders, the bags under his eyes, and the lag in his reaction time all tell the same story. He decides to suggest an impromptu trip away from Beacon Hills. Maybe, once Stiles realizes how great it can be away from this hellhole of a town, Peter can convince him to leave for good.

Peter has seen the drifter around town. He's heard about him bouncing around from farm to farm, lending a hand where he can for some under-the-table cash and a dry barn to sleep in for the night. Argent's been taking time out of his busy schedule of harassing Peter about selling his farm to ask probing questions about the drifter. From what Peter can piece together, Argent had a run-in with the kid and didn't seem to like the mouth on him. Peter decides to see if he can find the kid and convince him to come work for him on his farm. He can appreciate a well-timed wise-ass remark, especially when it's directed at Argent. And, well... the enemy of his enemy is his friend, right?

My #1 post of 2022
I love fics where the authors are teenagers dabbling in writing or someone who speaks English as a second language or someone who is processing something through these characters they relate to.
I love fics where the author obviously cares SO much about canon or where the author has never even seen the original work but decided to dive in anyway.
I love when fic authors try to nail the character’s exact personality and habits and speaking patterns from the original work. And I love when fic authors say, “okay, but how would this character be different if this life changing event never happened?” or “how would they be different if they grew up in this very different universe with a different societal set-up?” And I love it when fic authors pick a character trait from canon and decide to zoom in and choose to view it through a microscope for a whole fic.
I just love all the different versions of fanfic that exist for us and all of the room that they allow fic writers to play with and all the different versions they share with fic readers and allow us to explore. 🥹🥹🥹

For the same ask game, 4 + 16 + 74?
4. Where do you find inspiration for new ideas?
Strangely enough, I get most of my inspiration from the interplay between different media creations (literature, television, cinema) and the fandoms that exist around them. On the positive side, I am still amazed by the perspectives and the variations that people can bring to a text, even if I don't agree with them. On the negative side, I am quite frankly tasked by the racism, by the misogyny, by obsessive hostility, by the decadence pervasive in the fandom, but it also inspires me to answer it.
I have an imagination, fantastic but also moral. When I read something that I hadn't considered before, such as your excellent Great War AU for Teen Wolf, I can see how you draw a parallel between the established mores of class and patriotism that propelled British youth into Flanders fields. Your versions of the cast are placed into a bloody war not of their own making which served the interests of people above their social and economic level rather than into a supernatural feud not of their own making which served the interests of people above their social and economic level. I wouldn't want to write the same thing, but I am in the initial stages of an AU set in California during the American Civil War, where concepts of human dignity were in direct conflict. After all, I see human dignity as a value in and of itself as a core value of Teen Wolf expressed through its lead protagonist.
And then there is the endless inspiration through negative example (referred to in fandom terms as 'spitefic') where fundamentally corrupt interpretations inspire me to write countering fictions. For example, one that always gets my passion burning is the fanon idea that the primary problem with Teen Wolf is that Scott doesn't kill enough people, conjured in complete disregard of how the very story was predicated on the endless acts of vengeance between Argent and Hale. I can never bring any version of Scott, even the ones I write who do kill, to treat human life cheaply, and there is always scorn for those who do.
16. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Share one of them?
I presently am preparing for publication my final offering in Scottuary 2023, a missing scene from The Wolves of War, but I have four other stories in planning stages. There's a lull, as a lack of WIPs mean that I don't have a nagging voice in the back of my head telling me that I made a promise of finish that story, so I better finish it.
I won't talk about the one that's going up this Saturday -- people will see that soon enough -- but the one that I'm interested in the most is the one I mentioned above: the Civil War Era story, set in California in 1861 rather than in 2011. It will require a significant amount of reading and research on my part, as there are three significant cultures I want to study -- the indigenous peoples, the remnants of Spanish control, and the American entrepreneurs that dominated the mid-19th century Californian society in the wake of the 40s gold rush. It would be quite a challenge to pull off successfully.
The others are continuations of my MCU fusion and my Game of Thrones fusion along with one that is difficult to write but persistent in hanging around. It's a very dark fiction, an exploration of the consequences if a post-nogitsune Stiles bought into Peter's proposition that you can kill your way to safety, because I've seen too many triumphant Steter-Kills-Anyone-They-Don't-Like-and-Live Happily-Ever-After power fantasies for them not to leave an impression.
74. You’ve posted a fic anonymously. How would someone be able to guess that you’d written it?
Aside from the characteristic typos? For some reason, I tend to leave suffixes off words or leave out necessary words altogether. But mostly I reject the idea that teenage characters don't think about their own actions and that it is boring and presumptuous to spend time wondering if they are doing the right thing. One of the flaws of many properties, including Teen Wolf, is the idea that audiences wouldn't be interested in the why. For example, Scott McCall had many adults mentoring them who demonstrated specific rationality about their behavior. It hurt the story to forbid Scott from talking about it. Empathy and compassion are not just intuitive phenomena. It does give my work a cerebral feel, though I've never posted a fiction anonymously.

fic writer interview tag game
Name/nickname: DarkIsRising/Dark
Fandoms: In this incarnation Star Wars and Teen Wolf mostly
Two shots?: Sure! I have a few of those.
Most-popular multi-chapter fic: Most most MOST popular is an Our Flag Means Death fic “Cleave the Pin” which I think I just happened to write at the right time or something. I never expected it to get as much attention as it did, especially since I used a kind of strange style for Stede by using parentheses that, while I was writing, I kept thinking ‘ohhhh nooo, no one is going to like thiiiiiis.’ For my main fandoms, the most popular are Tribute (Teen Wolf, Steter) which took me fourteen months to write and In other words (Star Wars, BobaDinLuke, and a sequel to The best is yet to come so there’s one of my two-shots) which took eight months to write. Honestly it’s a wonder anyone stuck around that long, because there were massive gaps in posting since I kept writing myself into a corner that I needed to write and discard chapter after chapter before I finally settled on the ones I posted.
Actual worst part of writing: I have this thing where I’ll want to write, I’ll know exactly what I want to write, I’ll have everything lined up... but I just can’t. Like it feels like my brain is a bone and socket joint without cartilage that’s just grinding and grinding and grinding. Some days I can fake my way through it by writing a sentence or two at a time, poking around the internet, and then coming back to write a couple sentences more. Some days I just have to walk away entirely because it’s just not happening.
How you choose your titles: mostly song lyrics. I don’t really stress titles, and will choose random shit. Honestly, I barely even notice titles of books or fics I read, so I deprioritize them on my own stuff... though I have learned that there are a LOT of people out there that DO care what something is called and will even skip over fics based on titles alone so I’m trying to care more but it just doesn’t come naturally.
Do you outline? Ish. When I get an idea I write out in a doc of word vomit everything i know about the story, from beggining to end, and as I write I add to that doc or change stuff around if I’ve gone in a new direction but I’ll usually have certain plot points I’m trying to get to no matter how off course I veer. That’s when the delays happen, when I veer too far and I have to decide if I want to cut the plot point that’s been in my doc for forever loose (and is usually a load bearing plot point, it’ll mean a bunch of other stuff cant happen once it goes) or if I need to somehow bring the veering back in line.
Ideas you probably won't get around to, but wouldn't it be nice: I had a quiobi set in The Good Place universe that I remember feeling really clever for how it worked.
Callouts @ me: Changing chapter counts as we go. It fluctuates wildly as I post and readers call me out on it ALL the time. Sure I could change it to ? but that feels like admiting the story got the better of me.
Best writing traits: I think I give good character.
Spicy tangential opinion: As a reader you’re only one good fic away from turning a squick or a nope trope/fandom/pairing into something you’re actively reading. That’s why I’ve really stopped saying that there’s stuff I won’t read. I’ve been humbled by good writing too many times to have any pride left. Anything I’ve shied away from in the past, in the right hands, can work.  Thanks @tessiete for the tag. I’ll tag... @andthepeople @furiosophie @bunnywest @bronze-lorica but absolutely zero pressure in playing

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. Let’s spread the self-love ❤
Curious what ur fav fics of yours are? 👀🖤🩷
Like ever?Like my five favorite fics of ever? oh boy ok lemme pull up the list
Well immediately I Bit Him so He's Mine is coming to the top of the list which isn't even done yet but is sitting rn at around 40k, is my longest project ever and officially novel length. Between the writing a murder mystery, writing a low fantasy adventure, the gothic/fairytail romance, the hyde wednesday/hyde tyler scenes, the subplots, and the fact that I'm not able nor do i want to rely on psychic visions for information, this is the most involved and exciting project I've probably ever done. Before Wednesday, I hadn't really sat down and written a proper drawn out mystery plot and this is the first where there were no psychic visions either. It's also officially longer than my Absolution novella which is not on this list just because that fic was one of the first I ever wrote and it shows. (though it is special to me because of that)
2. I'll add Wandering in the Dark because it was born of a prompt that my hs senior english teacher gave the class for a project that'd been anticipated (or dreaded depending on who you were) all semester. Basically, we all got to draw a disease (chronic I believe or at least mine was) out of a hat and then just do whatever we wanted writing a story with it. He gave me complete creative freedom. I wrote steter fanfiction which is also why it reads for someone who isn't familiar with teen wolf. I got an A.
3. My Lost Soul (Lead Me to Redemption) was my baby for a long time. It was one of the first pieces I ever wrote in a creative writing class which I then rewrote as sterek fanficiton and evolved into a whole series with Derek, Stiles, and Peter becoming the Hale Pack again. My writing style and quality drastically changes from beginning to end and there's something special about getting to see that firsthand reading this series. I'm sure it would only have continued if I hadn't lost steam for the story.
4. This is not a fair game. I'm not even left my teen wolf list yet.
4. I suppose I'll put Have You Seen Me? because idk I just like it. I like it a lot. I like exploring Tyler immediately after the cave. I like the title and the way the summary is just Tyler's wanted poster. I like how it leads into Wednesday going to Nevermore and I like how they interact with each other and Tyler being an Addams
5. Hold Me Close and it's sister fic Pin Me Down (to be posted) will have to take place as well. I'm counting both because I love them for the same reason. I've been writing officially since 2016 and for at least as long I always knew that I would eventually write my own fuck or die/sex pollen fic and that I'd take the approach of approaching the potential trauma and very present vulnerability present in the premise. Plus, the sex marathon aspect was a good writing challenge to stretch out the sex scene long enough to actually feel like a marathon reading it. Hold Me Close's sex scene was around 3000 words. Pin Me Down's sex scene is 3455 words long.
Honorable mentions for an abandoned multi-chap from high school that I hadn't thought about for years solely because I recently went to a convention where I met a lot of local authors and talked their ears off about writing and the genres we do and our current projects (and I had plenty due to wyler week and the bingo) and this one author recognized my ao3 alias and loved the fic in question. Mark Me an Angel for the hannigram fandom which also is a good example of why you plan a basic plot/direction when you start something.

🎶, 🤩, and 🤭 for the ask meme if you'd be so kind
I'm enthusiastically inclined!! :))
🎶 for music I listen to whilst I write... it's a mix-up for me. I think I write/work best in complete silence, but also, when I put music on, I can achieve that same concentration and tune the music out as subconscious white noise? I try to listen to whatever suits the mood - for persona 4 (golden) or adayu, I like looping a corner of memories like a madman. for my brief forray into tommary, the teen wolf song who are you, really as well as this other one called blood in the cut were all I listened to for an entire winter and then some, though I never ended up posting any of it, haha. for my invisible era of eobarry in the flash fandom, the song another way out thanks to this one edit made the song everything for me. for more amoral enemies to lovers pairings, my go-to is this foe yay playlist I've had for over half a decade on spotify. this is the one I've been looping most as of late, and they're all made of songs I particularly liked from several of this one-sided spy/sniper fic's ambience playlists on 8tracks. for alex rider, it's got to be these three playlists for june, july, and august when I first got into the fandom and was incredibly hyperfixated on ar and yalex. for any complicated pairing ever, the song make me wanna die—courtesy of an ancient steter amv on youtube that I can no longer find probably because it’s long gone—is blast it at full volume and embrace the emo type vibe. sorry for all the links sdkfjsklsjdf if you can't tell, I'm super invested in answering everyone's asks!!
🤩 favorite character to write? I'm quite a snarky, blunt, and sarcastic person IRL and I've got plenty of one-liners to spare which also means characters ready to quip at any and all times are both the easiest to write and my favorites. I've not published any yet, but I've got several WIPs featuring your friendly neighborhood spiderman that have convinced me writing peter parker is nothing short of fun, though his quips don't usually have as much mean-spirited bite behind them. likewise I haven't posted anything for teen wolf, but stiles is the same way except that he can be a little bit meaner and mean it, too. lastly, alex rider my beloved and his matter-of-factly one-liners. canonically he's all "it looks like I sleighed him" or in response to a certain someone being crushed, "I'd have been disappointed, too." they come so naturally to me when I'm writing, and it's super fun to reread lines that seem to fit so well for the characters!
🤭 according to ao3, my most used tags are light angst... followed by angst, LOL. my personal favorite tag to use, however, is the "gen or pre-slash" tag, thanks to suzie. ever since I discovered its existence, I've been using it profusely in all my fics that lean more toward gen than slash. it's a gen fic according to the relationships, pairings, and orientations tag, yes, but that gen or pre-slash tag I've slapped on is me telling everyone to come get a pair of slash goggles free of charge, if they'd like. like those people who hand out opera glasses at the opera. it feels like the exact opposite of those "don't read this as a ship fic" warnings hahaha. it's gen, but also feel free to read it as slashy as you'd like!! I adore this tag.

20 questions for fic writers!
this kind of stuff is super neat to read from others and share and talk about sooo thank u so much for the tag @sugareey-makes-stuff!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
On its face, 40, but 5 are co-creator tags because i illustrated them, 3 of them are art for the steter bang independently posted separate from their fics, 1 was gift art for the steter vday exchange, and 1 is a 60k+ roleplay that i only wrote like half of haha. so its actually 30-31
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
365,587 but again, not all my words. Without the 8 fics mentioned up top, its at 250,197 total. the fic i co wrote is 69,599. Without any of that, my total is 180,598. if i only cut half out, its at 215,397 which is. still pretty good i guess???
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Published, I have fics for Voltron Legendary Defender, Teen Wolf, Danny Phantom, and Sk8 the Infinity. I pretty much only write for Teen Wolf right now. I have WIPs and ideas for DC, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, and of course Danny Phantom.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Grandma, What a Big Dick You Have! (the better to fuck you with my dear) (Sterek, WC 5,644, one shot, Rated E)
Churn My (Peanut) Butter (Steter, WC 3,074, one shot, Rated E)
A Collision of Interest is Inevitable  (This is that role-play) (PompousPep, WC 69,599, part 1 of ?, Rated M)
Why (not) Me? (Sterek, WC 6,496, one shot, Rated M)
Now Hiring (Sterek, WC 5,724, part 1 of WIP series that's currently 4 parts. Rated E)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do my very best to meet my commenters however they meet me. If they just drop some emojis, i drop some back. If they give me a long, thought out comment, I give them one back. Etc etc.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
This question and 7 are both hard because I pretty much exclusively write happy endings. A Snap, a Shudder, and a Home probably has the least upward lifting ending? It's not sad or angsty, but it speaks to unresolved tensions. The problem isn't over, even if they have a taste of peace. (Sterek, WC 1,669, one shot, Rated T)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
They all have happy endings! ARGH! The most outwardly enduringly positive fic I've written, however, is probably:
Daisies and Daffodils (You Make Me Smile) (Sterek, WC 3,864, one shot, Rated T) I was just in such a smiley, indulgent mood the entire time I wrote it, and it still makes me warm and smiley about it now.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not technically, though I have gotten two particularly unpleasant comments. One was on a Sterek fanfic trope challenge fic, for the prompt "Forced Proximity". Stiles and Derek get put into a '7 minutes of heaven' sort of situation by Lydia and one commenter was SO MAD that I didn't tag the fic as RAPE/NONCON ????? They also lectured me about being sexist and having double standards because it wouldn't be okay if Sterek were Women, which was just all sorts of yikes. (WC 2,912, Rated M, link here.) The other time I got a negative comment was actually on my most recently posted WIP Under My Skin, which is a Stackson fic. The hatefulness wasn't directed at the fic itself, but it WAS targeted at one of the main protagonists of the fic, as if implying I would be "punishing" said character for his "crimes" which were Being Human and Struggling. It made me super, SUPER uncomfortable and I ended up leaving the thread on read because I just got so unhappy every time I read the comment that I decided it wasn't worth even trying to explain myself. (WC 55,613, chapter 18/?, Rated E, noncon warning)
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Haha.... normally I would say that's literally most of what I write, but I have a surprising number of lengthier non-smutty fics than I realized. I also legitimately have a Just Porn fic series, though, and I've written some pretty horny stuff in general. (Sterek+ others, WC 23,152, Rated E, parts 4/?)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't, but I'm not opposed to doing one? I tend to prefer crossovers that are more, characters from X in setting from Y than, like, main characters interacting? But I have read a good few crossovers lately that have made me much more open TO writing a crossover in the future.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Thankfully not, yikes
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Naw, but I'd be open to it! I have blanket permissions for a lot of stuff right on my ao3 profile. (:
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yeah :,^)
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
If you'd asked me this like 5 years ago I would have said Drarry. I HAVE answered this question with Drarry many times. I think, at this point in time, however, it is shifting. It very well may be Sterek. Drarry has absolutely shaped a huge amount of how I create, how I write, what i read, etc. though so it would be inappropriate to say it held no influence over me.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I think it's entirely possible i will never finish the TBHK Wondering Prince fic I started. It's somewhere between traditional fairy tale, medieval fantasy, and the witcher, with a good bit of TBHK's whimsical supernaturality.
16. What are your writing strengths?
I tend to do well with dialogue IMO, as well as general world building, both fantastical and mundane lol
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
plot. The actual beats of the story. I have wonderful, grand ideas on what a story should be! I even have thoughts on the conflicts, major stepping points, etc, but MAN do i get tripped up on the actual getting from point a to point b thematicall.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
*wiggly hand gesture* I think if it is a language you speak, and it is only occasional words or a line or two, it makes sense to use the other language, but in every spoken situation in visual media, you would get subtitles explaining what was being said if it went on longer than that. If the audience doesn't speak the language and they have to go to the end of the chapter/fic/etc to translate it, that can be enough for them to just gloss over and not even read it. Or, if you don't speak that language at all and you use google translate? you might have written something very different from your intent that people who DO speak it catch and get tripped up by. I think it's better to just, say that the character is speaking in another language and translate it in text for your readers.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
teeeeeeeeeechnically homestuck? for 'posted on ao3'?? But also, I've lowkey been writing fanfic adjacent works since i was like 6, but i don't rly wanna count that LOL
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
This bitch is my baaaaaaaaby. Stackson, WC 55,613, Chapters 18/?. https://archiveofourown.org/works/48834448 Currently a WIP but with a deadline, so it WILL be finished! This is probably the fic that got me REALLY into writing fic on my own though. https://archiveofourown.org/works/29829636 It really brought me back to my love of writing and was the first finished work in a long ass time. I also think it's really funny and a great example of what I can do when I apply myself. (PompousPep, WC 4,545, 2 chapters, Rated M.)

Hello! I don't know if you're still doing asks, but I was wondering if you had any disabled Stiles fics? Blind, deaf, paralyzed etc? If not thats okay but if so thank you so much!
AND
Hey! I just finished reading Cornerstone and Windows on ao3 and I was wondering if you knew of any other blind fics? It doesn't have to be Stiles being blind. I'm just curious. Thank you! I get all my favorite fics from you!
Here you go, Stiles with a disability.

Windows by dr_girlfriend
(28/28 I 83,017 I Explicit I Sterek)
Derek has a new neighbor who won't stop looking.
Excerpt:
“You’re blind,” Derek said flatly, the anger draining from him so suddenly he felt almost woozy. His vision cleared, his claws sliding back into blunt fingernails.
“Thanks for the memo, genius,” the kid said acidly. “I can still fucking defend myself, so don’t take another damn step.”
“Fuck, I...I’m sorry,” Derek stuttered.
“What?!” The kid’s brow crinkled. “I mean — what?! You’re fucking sorry!?” His lips thinned into a harsh line. “What, is this some kinda Hallmark movie where you’re discovering the error of your ways because you don’t want to rob a blind person?! That’s fucking condescending, man. I’ll have you know that —”
“Just, wait.” Derek interrupted what was apparently the start of a convincing argument as to why he should rob the kid after all, feeling his head start to spin. “This is — it’s a misunderstanding. I’m — I’m not robbing you. You’re — you’re safe, okay? I’m taking three steps back. Just — just let me explain.”
“Explain why you came busting into my apartment? Yeah, go right ahead, man, I can’t wait to hear this epic tale.”
Cornerstone by Vendelin
(6/6 I 83,738 I Explicit I Sterek)
Suffering from PTSD, ex-Marine Derek Hale moves back to Beacon Hills to open a bookshop and find a calmer life. That’s where he meets Stiles, completely by accident. Stiles is talkative, charming and curious. Somehow, despite the fact that he’s blind, he’s able to read Derek like no one else.

"Due to the actions of the Alpha pack, Stiles goes blind. After the threat is gone, Stiles has to learn to live without his sight, and maybe Derek would make the perfect seeing-eye wolf."
Nothing is Over by CinnamonLily
(1/1 I 2,083 I General I Steter)
Stiles had the perfect life, until his mate died. Again. It's been nine months, and he's not doing well. In fact, he resents everyone else's happiness and has become a hermit on autopilot. Somehow, he's forgotten that Peter never stays dead.
I See You Better by theroguesgambit
(1/1 I 4,686 I Teen I Sterek)
He dreams, sometimes, of his last moments of seeing.
At the church in Mexico, Stiles is blinded by a Berserker. Derek uses his new wolf status to act as a guide dog, while Stiles adjusts to his new reality.
Clueless by HappyJuicyfruit
(1/1 I 4,748 I General I No Pairing)
After everything they’ve been through together, all Derek wants is for his pack to be connected with strong, thriving, pack bonds. And for the most part, its working. The pack is growing, healing, happy.
He just needs to figure out why Stiles hates him so much.
My reflection is not who I am but who I must hide by RainbowDuck

The first 11 years of Stiles (no one will ever know my real name) Stilinski's life were more of less textbook. The next 3 were hell and if it could go wrong, it did. Stiles and her dad Noah move to Beacon Hills for a new start and it ends up being the worst and the best thing.
In Your Footsteps (I Will Walk) by cywscross
(1/1 I 8,873 I Teen I Steter)
It takes him months, but Stiles gave him a destination, gave him direction, gave him hope, and so he goes.
T: Tremors by brokenes
(1/1 I 9,477 I Teen I Sterek)
Derek tried not to think of hospitals and blood and hearts no longer beating and his legs, leaving it all behind, knowing that Stiles' no longer could. It took him seven years to stop leaving.
Wild Tonic by officerstilinskihale
(1/1 I 11,010 I Mature I Sterek)
Stiles nodded and smiled again, his teeth flashing brightly and he signed something again, before looking frustrated with himself.
“You’re welcome,” Derek told him, feeling a wave of relief when Stiles’ face brightened. That would’ve been awkward if Stiles hadn’t been trying to say thank you.
“I had a really good time, so yeah. I’m glad you came with me,” he said, feeling his face grow hot. Derek wasn’t usually like this. He wasn’t confident. Sure, he had the looks and he could flirt shamelessly when he got hit on, but he always got shy around the people he genuinely liked, not that there was too many of those.
But Stiles didn’t let him dwell on that. He gripped Derek's arm, grinned cheekily and pointed at himself before lifting two fingers. It took a while for Derek to get it but when he did, he couldn’t stop a smile from spreading across his face.
Me too.
Show Your Teeth, Yellow With Desire by ItsMe_Basil

The man looked up when Stiles stepped into the room, eyes appraisingly taking Stiles in from head to toe before smirking.
"Hello, sweetheart."
Stiles felt his heart jump into his mouth, his breath hitching in his throat. The orderly hadn't stayed long, leaving the two of them alone.
"Peter." He breathed. "You're real."
where the Double Walker dwells by forestofbabel
(10/10 I 38,164 I Teen I Sterek)
Derek looked like he always did, perfectly groomed and a little gruff. Though, as Stiles glanced at him, Derek’s face was lax with surprise.
“Stiles?” Derek asked, sounding flummoxed.
“Dude, I know it’s been a while, but don’t be so surprised I’m hung over in the woods. It’s practically tradition at this point.”
Derek sniffed the air, eyeing him with distrust. “But, you can’t… I just…” he trailed it off like a question, taking a half step forward before pulling out his phone and dialing a number, eyes never leaving Stiles.
Complications by idareu2bme
(15/15 I 42,523 I Teen I Sterek)
Derek hadn’t meant to involve Stiles in all this --Stiles who was warm and pliable in his sleep, whose warm, brown eyes reflected light they would never again see, who had a smile brighter than the sun, and who could see Derek when others never did.
At least the Road to Hell is paved, I'm not good with Stairways by lady emebalia (emebalia)
(80/80 I 170,037 I Explicit I Sterek)
When Derek signs up on a BDSM dating site, he expects things to be straight forward. Turns out the road ahead has more unexpected turns than he thought. But at least Stiles comes well equipped for twists and turns.
Caretakers by em2mb

Now Lydia sees the white room clearly, Stiles sitting cross-legged on the nemeton in his lacrosse jersey, squinting at a chessboard.
That’s when Lydia realizes her vantage point makes her Stiles’ opponent — and she has him in check.
Her instinct is to push her own king into danger, but Stiles grabs her wrist. “Come on, Lydia,” he says dryly, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Chess might not be your game, but surely you know that’s against the rules.”
Lydia tries to squirm away from him. “But you’ll die,” she insists, his grip tightening so much she’s certain his long fingers will leave bruises.
“Say it, Lydia,” Stiles urges. “Checkmate. Checkmate. Checkmate — ”

I put together a little collection of Sterek and Steter fics for funsies. “Just a few fics”, I thought, “nothing too crazy.” Thirty fics later I had to cut myself off and finalize the list. You can thank @the-cookie-of-doom for the inspiration.
These primarily fall under the Hurt Stiles Stilinski category because I apparently like to see my comfort characters suffer. Most of these have hopeful/happy endings but mind the tags. For reals.
Placed under a cut since I have no self control and this turned into a long post.

Between the kanima, the Argents, and Peter's untimely return from the dead, everything has fallen apart. Stiles and Derek try to put their lives back together once the crisis has passed. Stiles deals with the aftermath of being tortured, and the distance growing between he and Scott. Derek attempts to become a stronger alpha and keep his pack safe, and that includes Stiles.

Derek caught the way the man’s eyes looked over Stiles before lingering on his ass. He waited for the clerk to place the key on the counter before he reacted.
Stiles startled at the loud noise, turning away from the pamphlets in the display box to see Derek pinning the clerk’s head against the counter. He drew in an even breath, looking between the struggling man and Derek.
Derek briefly looked at Stiles, hesitating before he saw the gleam of excitement in Stiles’ eyes and the hint of lust in his scent. “Ever look at him, or any other Omega, like that again, and I’ll slice your eyes out with my claws.” He shoved the man back, not caring of the commotion that was made as he snatched up the key from the counter.

Jordan Parrish is the new sheriff of Beacon Hills, a town haunted by its past.
Your Vision Borrows Mine by hazyascent
(188,781 l E)
Stiles has encountered a fair share of monsters before, way out of his league - the kinds that children are afraid are hiding in their closets and under the bed.
He’d even become one himself when he was void. The nogitsune was in his house, his body, and his mind.
But the worst monster he’s ever faced took even more from him and got away with it.
It’s why Stiles has never really been as terrified of werewolves and kanimas and darachs as he should have been. They’re really not that scary, relatively speaking, and he has a whole team on his side. They always found a way to win - until they lost someone they really loved.
Stiles doesn’t know how to be normal, not after everything he’s done and everyone he’s hurt. The nogitsune is gone, but another monster is on its heels.
His uncle is back. And Stiles has never felt more alone.

“What happened? Where are you? What’s that sound?”
Derek jumped, having momentarily forgotten Scott was on the phone with him because Stiles had started moving. He’d stalked over to the other side of the cave, still eying Derek warily and growling, then settled protectively over a mass of clothes, leaves and animal innards. It was probably where he was sleeping.
Lovely. No wonder he smelled like death.
“Stiles,” Derek said, answering Scott’s question. Or, one of them, at least.
“Stiles? What do you—Stiles is making that noise?”
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“How fast do you think you can make it to the south lot of the Preserve?”

"So this is what Stiles does. He lies in Scott’s bed and waits for Melissa to say she’s found someone to get it out of him, to cure him of the wrongness and the bad, and he dreams.
God, he dreams.
He dreams of fire and swollen bellies and that scene in Alien, of giving birth to jackals through his urethra, the whole horrific nine yards. His head is a terrible place to be, he can’t imagine his stomach is much better, why anyone would want to put a thing inside of it."
I'm There in the Water by @spaceprincessem
(15,878 l T)
“But it’s—” Derek paused, his words unsure, “it’s not like us,” he swallows hard, chin dipping to his chest in frustration, “it’s like a…”
“An abomination,” Stiles finished, nodding his head as he finally lets his gaze really look at Derek since Scott had pulled them from the water.
He suddenly wished he hadn’t because the way Derek looks at him makes Stiles feel like he is ten years old again. Like Derek is seeing him for the first time since they accidentally fell into each other’s orbit all those years ago. Like Stiles isn’t a burden or invisible.
Like he is enough.
Or five times Stiles felt like he was drowning and the one time he finally caught his breath

"Did I turn into a unicorn?" Peter asks dryly, and Stiles glares at him for a moment before the laughter bubbles up, unbidden, nearly unwilling, and he looks so surprised at the sound, his shock dimming it for a moment before it bursts through with even more trembling ferocity. A long, thin, willowy hand curls into a soft fist over his mouth, and he's shaking, frail, more tears falling, but the copper of his eyes are glowing, crinkling around the edges and scrunched with mirth.
"No," Stiles chokes, chuckling wetly. "No, fuck you, a unicorn? What, like, Rainbowcreep? Zombiesparkle?"
[About a year before the fated Hale fire, Peter starts having nightmares that involve a woman with red hair. The nightmares lead to a spell that brings a man back through time, and, eventually, though the time-traveler is traumatized in the most horrific ways, and Peter's never been good with or for people, in general, they develop a bond that neither of them expects.]
Would You Forgive Me If I Called You Hope, Peter Hale? (Hope, By Any Other Name) by Whispering_Sumire
(10,099 l T)
Stiles has scars. He owns that, he accepts it, he's cataloged and memorized every single one, he's hyper fucking aware of them all.
//
"What do you want, Peter?" Having the more untrustworthy of the Pack getting protective weirds him the fuck out, leaves an odd fluttering in his chest, like moths, waiting perilously and suicidally to be burned.
He doesn't like it.
"You're injured," the man says, "and whatever it is, it's put you in enough pain that I nearly fainted when I-"
"- Used your werewolf mojo on me without my permission?" Stiles smirks, and Peter gives him a black look, crossing a leg over his knee and smoothing out some invisible wrinkle on his pants.
"Tell me the truth Stiles, how bad is it?"
[Or: The one where Stiles has scars, is more than a little fucked up, and Peter notices. He helps.]

When I made my AO3 account in 2015 it was something easy that I would be able to remember, and shey-elizabeth happened when I made my Tumblr account. I couldn't have "Shey" so I added my real middle name to it.
How long have you been reading fanfic? I've always been a voracious reader (head in a book 100% of the time from elementary school on). I discovered fanfic sometime around 1998 on a Buffy the Vampire Slayer forum. It was one of those forums for talking about the latest episode and someone posted a Willow/Oz drabble. It all snowballed from there! I went from BtVS to Highlander, The Sentinel, and Mag7. Then I got into a few anime fandoms.YuYu Hakusho and Ronin Warriors in particular. After that I did a deep dive into Gundam Wing that lasted until that fandom died.
When did you start writing fanfic? I really started writing fic towards the beginning of 2019 (because we're going to ignore my brief, embarrassing attempts that never went anywhere way back in the day). I had been obsessively reading Teen Wolf fic for about a year at that point, and thought I'd try my hand at a short, smutty PWP fic, just for the hell of it. That fic is now my longest at 68K
Were you writing original content before you started writing fanfic? Nope. I dove right into fanfic. Unless we count that time in seventh grade that I wrote the first two chapters of a book. My closest IRL friends have been writing fanfic for as long as I've known them, so for 20+ years. It's always been a thing most of my friends were doing and sharing. I was a pre-reader and cheer-reader (not a beta cause I couldn't find a grammar error to save my life) for ages and writing fanfic was never taboo in my friend group.
So what were you hoping to get out of writing fanfic? I didn't really expect much from my first fic. I was hoping I'd maybe get 100 kudos and a couple comments if I was lucky. But it actually did surprisingly well! I had one of my friends (poor thing isn't even in the fandom) beta read it for me and help with my complete inability to understand how commas work. I didn't think it would get much attention since I was a complete lurker in fandom. But I got lucky because the Steter (Stiles/Peter) fans are incredibly welcoming. I've gotten such an amazing positive response to my fic, that, instead of one little PWP I've got 160k worth of words on AO3 and several more WIPs. So I guess you can say I'm enjoying it!
Any lessons learned along the way? I've definitely noticed that the longer I do it, the harder writing gets. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I've always been very eager to learn how to improve my writing. The flip side of that is the more I learn, the more difficult it is to just throw some words on the page and call it good! Writing is hard for me. It's also very satisfying when I finally get a scene to flow the way I want it to. When I started, I thought practice would make it easier. But I've realized the more you work at improving, the more you see your own mistakes. It's definitely a catch-22! At the same time, I can also recognize how much the quality of my writing has improved, so that makes the struggle worth it.
I'm really lucky in that I made an amazing friend through fandom who is not only a phenomenal writer but is also willing to beta-read and handhold me. She gets a ton of the credit for guiding me through the learning curve. (We've had days long email chains with her patiently explaining how punctuation works. I wish my high-school English teachers had been half as effective as @queerfictionwriter.)
How has writing changed the way you read fanfic? Oh man. It's changed it so much!! The first thing I noticed was that I started reading so much less because the time I used to put towards reading is now going towards writing. I work full-time, so my writing time is already limited.  And I'm slow so if I want to get something out in the next decade I need to budget my time.
The second thing I realized was that I had to take long breaks from reading fic in the fandom I was trying to write in, because I would lose the characterization for my story. This actually led me to reading a lot more pro-fic (professional fic), because I was desperate to read, but I didn't want to lose track of my characters by reading someone else's take on them.
What are some changes to your writing that you’ve been working on improving now that you see them? I feel like I'm working on improving everything all the time! I spend so much more time editing and tweaking my words than I do actually writing. I'll write a couple thousand words in a few hours, and then spend two weeks editing and rewriting.
Something I've been trying to focus on more is letting the reader fill in the blanks and connect the dots. I want to find the balance where it's obvious what's going on in the scene without me explaining where every arm and leg is. Along the same lines, I want to get better at this with the plot too. I want the reader to be able to infer context without me spelling things out. Some of my favorite writers are excellent at this. It's that moment when you're reading and the character mentions something for the first time, but you know exactly what they're referencing—even though it happened off the page.
Yeah, I get that. When done right, that sort of thing does feel like magic.
