Super Niki au my absolute beloved.. the more information I get the more crazy I get

(hi sorry this sat in the inbox for like two months anon for some reason i was hoping something more substantial would appear out of thin air. it didn't btw.) regardless of that! fuck yeah anon i'm with you on that

i think a superhero niki story would have to have a real focus on the mundane. like the nitty gritty details of "how do you conceal your identity from people in your superhero costume?" "how do you fit patrols into your week? you can't possibly do them every day." all that! again i think this comes back to me being really attached to the 'everyman' side of c!niki it makes me want to imbue that feeling into everything i write with her. in this au i think she does work at a bakery (good for her) but when the shit starts to hit the fan she disengages from her job, stops taking on the extra duties she usually does at work, stops caring, eventually stops showing up. etc. this is probably related to how she ends up crashing with fundy and hbomb after The Puffychu Divorce (superniki edition)

here are a few other miscellaneous thoughts i've been having:

i've been having more of a think about emerald duo in this au, and i think i know how i picture them being. so phil is wilbur's dad, techno is phil's friend, techno and wilbur define their relationship in vastly different ways, etc etc the standard. oh but they're both supervillains. not for any particular reason they kind of liked mucking around causing mayhem first and then came up with an ideology later. anyway phil's retired and techno Would Like to be retired but he's still looped into the job due to Shenanigans (blood god related mb?). wilbur is fully aware of this and goes to him to be like 🥺 help i need ideas when he decides to go supervillain mode

oh! and wilbur's alter ego name is chekhov ^-^

and so the syndicate in this au is......................... a book club. yes for real

okay look i was thinking about what to do with the syndicate and i didn't really want to have them end up as a Bad Ass Villain Posse because i think niki needs to retire or at least be a superperson part time after everything that happens. so instead, she ends up meeting phil and techno and they help her ease into super semi-retirement ^-^ and ofc phil and techno appreciate having another friend who Gets It around. they are literally just like a book club and a mild support group in this au in a very silly way and i like it

i've spoken a bit about fundy and hbomb in this au... yeah niki lives with them after breaking up with puffy. not 100% sure where jack fits in. maybe he's another low ish level vigilante running around and tries to ally with niki? i can't imagine any allegiances she makes in that mental state (without the history she and jack had as l'manbergians in canon) would last very long. maybe she sees a bit of herself in him. they both call each other out for being emotionally immature idiots and then go and do the exact same thing themself. hypocrites

oh and i think i've mentioned niki making her own costume before!! i imagine as a fire based superhero she buys PPE (like from a tradie joint) and modifies it to be 1. functional and 2. fashionable. this does in fact mean that hi-vis yellow + orange are her colours in this au....

and below the cut is a treat: a snippet i wrote of a scene where after a big fight, wilbur finds himself patching up his wounds in the same safety stash as this city's very own friendly neighbourhood superhero (who wants to beat his ass)......

“Why do you hate me?”

The stubborn rasp in his voice surprises even him. As for the woman on the other side of the room, her shoulders draw tight - like a wild animal arching its back, a show of anger. The question, then – should Wilbur interpret such a motion as defensiveness, or as a threat? “What makes you say that?” she asks. Her voice runs high with the question – a quiet sound, like a flute's soft alto, though it rasps slightly through the sound of a voice changer. Idly, Wilbur wonders whether it is worth asking where she got it. Or how she fashioned it, perhaps. God knows he needs one. Chekhov might manage perfectly fine in the midst of faceless reporters and supervillains – the proper kind – who haven't seen the light of city streets in years, but if Wilbur were to cross paths with someone he knew as himself (god forbid, someone like Tommy) his voice would give him away quick as anything. (His heart aches, briefly, when he thinks of his brother.) Part of him tries to unpick what her voice would sound like without it. It’s difficult not to fixate on these small things – perhaps because the bigger things provide him with so little in comparison. Her voice is quiet, a little difficult to pick the sounds apart around the staticky rumble of the voice changer, but far from timid. There’s a stubborn timbre to it. (Something in it is familiar. But that thought is patently ridiculous, and Wilbur is impatient, and so it is dismissed.)

[scene continues]

"Am I," Wilbur pauses, wets his lips – it almost feels as if the fire is still flickering beneath his skin, energising and scorching all at once. "Am I that horrible? Is there something – do you see something so inherently terrible in me that you just have to strike it down? Is that it?" Her powder-keg silence sparks, ignites, her scowl a torn-open slash even beneath the planes of her mask, embroiled in sudden fury. "Don't flatter yourself - " "Ah, and there it is!" To her credit, she doesn't stagger back as he lights up – if anything, her affect is unimpressed. "Show us the blaze, firebug! What – what drives you? What lights your fuse?" "Do you even know what you are?" she retorts. Oh, she's caught on the hook, now. "You know what you are?" What is Wilbur expecting? Proud, arrogant perhaps – delusional wouldn't be anything new, or any of the crueler words from that stock. Wouldn't be the first time he'd been called some variety of son of a bitch bastard, either. Who is he, to this spectre of flame? He's asking honestly, though he doubts she believes in his integrity. "You're a liar," she continues, words stubborn and fierce and almost unwieldy. "You – you are so selfish, and so cruel – you take, and you take and you take and you don't think for a second of the people you're taking from. You don't think anything of them. You're a liar," and when she repeats these words, they sound like smoke – "and you know what? I hate liars. I hate them." The words sink into him like stones. How does she know? he asks himself. How does she know? He doesn't ask her that. Knowing his patience, he'd be lucky for an answer, anyway - instead he just suggests, "you speak like you're familiar on the subject, then?" If it's even possible, her scowl drives itself deeper into her face - like tyre tracks driven into mud, an ugly slash of drawn brows and what he can only assume is teeth bared behind that voice changer of hers. She looks at him like he isn't worth a single thing on this earth. "Yeah, well," she spits. "I've had my fair share, with bastards like you."

c!Tommy, Exile, and Loneliness: an Analysis

By someone who watched every stream live and is not a fan of the fanon interpretation — redtaxproject analysis

Exile, for all its importance to the story of the Dream SMP, is often misunderstood and misrepresented by the fandom — exaggerated into a far darker storyline than you would expect from an arc that included the main villain stripping on a log for Twitch subscriptions. Much of this ultimately comes down to the focus on c!Dream as the villain, seeing him as the cause of all c!Tommy’s suffering — meanwhile ignoring both c!Tommy’s arc up until that point, and the various contributions of other characters that make the arc what it was.

To understand how exile affected c!Tommy’s, we first need to understand how the events leading up to exile affected him — he did not go into exile as a blank slate. Beginning with the events of November 16th 2020, there’s the perceived betrayal of both c!Technoblade (turning on the Pogtopians after realising he’d been lied to) and c!Wilbur (setting off the explosives after saying he wouldn’t). This is followed only a few weeks later with the situation that led to his exile — a seemingly inconsequential bit of griefing escalated by politics, with people he thought were his friends turning on him (with c!Quackity and c!Fundy specifically showing a willingness to only side with him when he was likely to win and/or it benefited them).

After losing two of his closest friends, c!Tommy then had to face the fact that c!Tubbo, as president of New L’Manburg, now had split responsibilities and had to prioritise the country over his best friend. Both of these factors together influenced c!Tommy’s mental state going into exile, making him feel abandoned by his friends. This was only amplified by the presence of Ghostbur through most of his exile, constantly reminding him of c!Wilbur’s death.

Now that we have established how the events leading up to exile affected c!Tommy, we can discuss the exile itself. While a common complaint about the arc is that, despite claiming to be alone, c!Tommy is visited regularly, this claim misunderstands why c!Tommy felt alone during exile. For the duration of exile, c!Tommy could only be visited by others — he couldn’t choose to visit someone. This is highlighted when he is unable to go to see the community Christmas tree — while someone builds a Christmas tree for him at Logstedshire, it wasn’t the same as going to see one himself. There’s also the fact that c!Tubbo never visited him.

C!Tommy also comes to view others visiting him as a form of pity, which explains one of the more controversial parts of the arc — c!Tommy dropping c!Jack Manifold in lava when he comes to visit him, lashing out and killing him. Both of these factors are shown with his attempt to hold a beach party (inviting others rather than waiting for them to come) and his response to no-one showing up, which is to deny.

All of this, however, is not to discredit c!Dream’s actions during this arc. The main mistake fanon makes when considering c!Dream is in the belief that he is good at manipulating people — in fact he is quite terrible with it, usually failing in most cases when he tries to persuade someone to do something with words (as shown during the El Rapids conflict and the dethronement of c!George). Instead, where c!Dream excels is in the manipulation of events — taking advantage of things that have happened for his own goals (such as using c!Tommy’s griefing against him), and setting up situations by predicting how others will act (such as staging the disc confrontation).

While his overall plan is still unknown, during the exile arc, c!Dream’s main goal appears to be driving c!Tommy and c!Tubbo apart, separating them physically and mentally, in order to create a situation where he would be in possession of both discs. In order to achieve this he spent his time hindering c!Tommy’s progress, highlighting the fact that others had turned on him, and constantly reminding him of the consequences of returning to the main SMP area. Even when c!Tommy left Logstedshire and hid from c!Dream, his goal was still achieved as c!Tommy teamed up with c!Technoblade — which may have been part of his plan all along.

Finally, we can discuss the events leading up to c!Tommy escaping exile. As a result of everything discussed above, c!Tommy begins to spiral, resulting in suicidal thoughts and apathy towards harm (such as letting mobs attack him). After c!Dream discovers his hidden stash of items, and destroys the progress he’s made, c!Tommy appears to be contemplating suicide — until he realises that the limitations of his exile are, effectively, all in his mind, created by fear. He could always leave at any time.

So he does.

I don't HATE writing baby centered verses but it does get super grating and like... there are 8 shit billion adopted bats. Why does every reader have to have a clown car coochie?

Bruce isn't a weird fundie. AND there are 525600 other stories that come out every day where someone is having a baby. So honestly unless I have something to say about it OR it is of vital importance I just don't like adding it in

The ending the season one feeling clumsy and season two already being a bit of a mess was inevitable.

Its not an attack to say that the DSMP has poor communication it’s a fact. Cc!Eret has talked about this multiple times. And gotten harassed by fans every time. But other content creators have talked about it as well. Earlier in 2022 Eryn talked about their plans for lore they scrapped because he felt ignored. Boomer had the same problem which he talked about and so has Niki.

Even “bigger” streamers have struggled with this. Wilbur had to write Ho16 on a03 because he couldn’t get everyone together and didn’t even know Dream had escaped for like a week after it happened. Similarly Ranboo has pushed their plans for c!Ranboo back many different times.

This has been an issue for a while in the dsmp but it’s become very very obvious in season four. To be clear I’m not only blaming Dream or saying this is part of an evil plan by him. While people have mentioned specifically him ignoring dms and stuff this an issue all content creators have struggled with. Like i said Wilbur had to push back ho16, Quackity missed Wilbur’s goodbye, the whole thing with Fundys adoption with Eret are only a few examples. The dsmp was supposed in end in SEPTEMBER.

I’m saying this finale is the natural conclusion to that. With some cc!s feeling happy (and good for them!) and some feeling talked over or left out or not wanting to do s2 because they feel uncomfortable with certain decisions.

I don’t really enjoy writing serious neg, if you know me you probably know I’m a big fan of shit posting or making dumb jokes and I’m a big fan of dsmp it’s literally been my longest hyper fixation. I’m just disappointed with the ending and I wanted to look into the root of that. I hope whatever happens next the cc!s do what makes them happy. And I hope they’re proud of the wonderful story they made.

Reading your post abt Jill never posting personal stuff abt her kids, I feel like every time one of her kids (as well as other fundies but they’re the clearest example) get engaged or married I always think: what do you see in them? Like not in a mean way, but it just feels like every shred of personality has been stolen from these people, like they’re genuinely all the same person. Same interests (Jesus and church), same quiet sweetness, same wants and desires (babies and babies), same opinions on every topic. It honestly just feels like Nathan could’ve married Kaylee and Jonathan could’ve married Nurie and they would’ve been equally happy. idk it just makes me sad that if you asked Nathan what he likes abt Nurie he probably wouldn’t be able to say anything unique to her, just that she’s a sweet helpmeet who loves Jesus. not that she’s goofy or also a big sports fan or sarcastic or whatever

Yea I mean you hit the nail on the head. Idk if what I'm going to say next is obvious or not, because I just don't have any context for a child/teenage hood without a Christian influence, but in my world there totally was an ideal way to be for women and men and it had very little to do with individual characteristics.

I see a more concentrated version of it in the fundie world, for women it's being happy, upbeat, benign, outgoing (but not too much), extremely dedicated to religion and studying the Bible, modest, and as close to the conventional standard of beauty as you can possibly get. Hobbies outside of anything church related should be practical in some other way and very rarely just your own enjoyment. And if you're ever discussing feelings outside of joy, you have to keep it shallow and generalized and always have an optimistic spin (usually something to do with how everything's ok bc it's God's plan etc etc the ex-christians out there know the spiel).

So when looking for your future spouse, regardless of your gender, you're first looking for someone who meets the Godly Man or Woman criteria. Whether you get along with someone is important too, but it's secondary to the first thing. It'd be better to have a Godly spouse than one you had tons in common with who didn't meet that criteria, if that makes sense.

So in that kind of dating environment, the more the person you're dating is like all the women or men you know (at least the ones you respect) the more desirable they actually are, ya know? Because there's a very cut and dry definition of the kind of person everyone should be, and anyone too different is then just inherently not a Good person.

You're doomed now that I got the chance to read the Karlnapity hibernation fic. Now I wanna know how hibernation would run in the SBI house and with Dream+Gogy. Also if Sam or anyone else has hibernation instincts and how that would go. You were actually doomed when I first found your blog. I shall always live up to my name!

So the SBI household works similarly to how Sapnap used to handle hibernation, in the sense that Techno returns to the nether for a while. I’m a fan of the hc that he still belongs to a bastion, and that the other piglins of the bastion have accepted Phil as a honorary member. Though, when Techno goes to the nether for hibernation reasons Phil and Wil are usually stored because they both have hibernation instincts as avians.

Usually, Tommy goes to stay with Tubbo or Niki or whoever will let him stay for the winter so he’s not alone. This year, he offhandedly mentions it to Karl after seeing his true form for the first time, and Karl invites him to stay at his house for the winter with George.

This is Dream’s first year having hibernation instincts, and it’s messing him up pretty bad. He reached out to Techno only to find he’d already stored Phil and Wil, and reached out to Sapnap (Karl told him that he was already hibernating when he saw Sapnap’s communicator repeatedly going off) without one of the netherborns to help him through it (Bad is also hibernating, staying at his nether home) he turns to others to help.

Sam can’t do it for the entire winter, not being used to not eating for long periods of time. Punz had flown off to a warmer biome for the winter, and he couldn’t think of anyone else who could.

Except, you know, George. George only agreed to it because he knows Dream exhausted every other choice, and it tugged at his heartstrings to watch the hybrid shivering as he kept trying to get in contact with people. He warned Dream that he was gonna spend the winter at Karl’s if he was the one to store him, and Dream readily agreed. He was shrunken at first, up until George actually got him down, then he abruptly shifted to his blob form (a move that startled both of them), leaving poor George’s sense of balance completely off as he made his way to Karl’s house in Kinoko.

He got there to find Tommy and Karl setting up for a sleepover, and after a lot of teasing from both of them about his swollen abdomen thanks to Dream discovering he wasn’t able to shift back before he fell asleep, he was welcomed into the impromptu pillow and blanket fort they’d made.

Ooo I just remembered Fundy’s likely to have hibernation instincts too, similarly to Purpled. Purpled simply hides out in his ufo for the winter to pass, and Fundy hides out in his home. He could technically have someone store him for the winter, it’d probably settle his instincts better, but he’s pretty sure everyone who could store had already gone off or fallen asleep to settle their own instincts.

But I think that’s all the characters who would have hibernation instincts! I hope that answered your question!

hi its us thebeans you have been selected to secret us a santa !! this is going to be a bit of a tutorial letter so everyone else knows what exchange letters are like, so rest assured it will be as comprehensive as i can manage. remember that you do not need to fulfill All of the conditions the recipient lists, just at least one of them to the best of your ability. woo

you are probably well aware the extent to which we like the life series. things you could cover include property police kiss on the mouth secret life (or property police cold patrol new life which isn't getting its own entire bullet but it's a thing), treebark slash fairydog slash renb, toxic yaoi majorwood, the bad boys, last life grumbo, idk get silly with it !! slash p or slash r it is all good <- applies to all listed items in this letter not just here

free space basically. scottpearl !!!!!!! or arenaduo or kathgempearl again (or duo permutation) or pearl and pix bonding maybe idk what the state of eswap is gonna be pixwise by the end of november. or if some other part of eswap compels you then go for it. you might wanna write the watcher grian crossover idea that jay2 had that one time. up to u :D

5. pirates/rats

yeah babyyyyyy this is the writing to pander to littlesound zone. i love datastream martyn interacting with this-is-just-their-world other characters such as oli or sausage or olive or shelby or owen or scar or other people that don't start with the letters o and s. kisstrels obviously (including shep and shub); you could do property police with martyn and safety rat; farmer rat scott, baker rat lizzie, he had a pretty sweet bond with will. maybe mratyn watching as oli tries and fails to seduce the butler with cringefail affection in his eyes. maybe mratyn trying and failing to seduce one of the brown wild dogs at the edge of the grounds while scott looks on in disappointment. p!bek is canonically aroace so if you write pirate bekel you'd probably get Comments about it but like if you don't fear the fandom then fuck it. 6. witchcraft

YURI OPPORTUNITY AGAIN BUT FOR BEK INSTEAD! beky's finally figured out her witchcraft bek au which is that el is a not-so-famous witchtuber and bek is one of her few very dedicated commenters so when el randomly stumbles across the supreme witch crown where scott dropped it then she ends up asking bek what to do and they bond from there, so you may wanna do something with that.

7. dsmp

if you are dsmp inclined and you want to go classic style then you cannot go wrong with a little bit of crimboy/clingy. bee/bench and michael could also be fun; i like niki, big q, JACK MANIFOLD, fundy, eret, hbomb, foolish, and i miss honq every day babyyyy <- not every day but often. if you'd like to add to the hit canon ao3 tag tommyinnit crashes own funeral (dream smp) then that would be very welcomed too, i canonised that shit with my bare hands

8. au ideas

well i said all of that for canon concepts but what if you want to write/draw an alternate universe? goooo fuckin crazy with it my friend. some concepts i enjoy reading are: royalty; urban/low fantasy; newly discovered/obtained superpowers; domestic roommates setting; famous & doesnt give a shit about that fame; creative type & muse; guardian angel & human. idk have fun!

i'm adding this section because i know some people will want to do this but mine will be quite short because i . do not watch anything else. uhhhh the magnus archives. moon knight 2022. i like quite a lot of musical theatre but mostly the modern post hamilton shit and i have not seen hadestown. thubs up

dsmp characters headcanons : how they feel about you based on your zodiac sign

Aries

Tommy : you two don’t get to know each other on a very personal level, but are fine with that. You both always have a good time when you hang out.

Technoblade : he has a huge crush on you that he tries to repress but he just can’t get over you.

Dream : he’s your partner in crime

Slime : besties

Karl : he is a bit jealous of your self-confidence

Wilbur : he used to see you as someone who looks down on other people but now he doesn’t care because you are fucking hilarious to him

Schlatt : there was an animosity between you two at first for the same reason as with Wilbur. But then he became fond of your sense of humor as well and now your relationship is pretty neutral as long as you make him laugh

Fundy : he would trust you to help him get rid of a body. Also he will probably propose to you at some point and if you accept you will both live happily ever after

Puffy : she also trusts you a lot, she will probably present herself as a rival to Fundy for your hand in marriage. You will also have your forever happy ending if you pick her.

Niki : she has a huge crush on you and you like her a lot too but it just doesn’t work out for some reason

George : he had a huge crush on you but you rejected him… only to develop feelings for him later on, when he has already gotten over you. Painful for the both of you.

Ranboo : you both are kinda crushing on each other but prefer not to get into a relationship (it hurts them a lot but they suck it up) (you too lowkey)

Foolish : he’s a fan of your aura, your charisma.

You will never know, but what you do know about him is that under his articulate, suit and tie wearing façade lies an insane man, that you can see when he’s drunk (which is most of the time)

Fundy : you are like an aunt or uncle to him, he doesn’t know much about you other than you like flowers

Puffy : she sees you as family, respects you and also knows to bring flowers when she meets up with you.

Niki : thinks you are too much of an attention seeker, and doesn’t have time for you as she puts herself first. She is one of the only ones that can manage your gigantic ego, but you can’t bring yourself to trust her because of this power she holds over you

George : to him you are an attention whore and a waste of his time, but that means he knows how to bring you back down to earth when you spiral into your god complex. Again, you don’t like how easily he can control that side of your personality and don’t trust him at all

Ranboo : he is the last person that can handle you when you get too full of yourself, which still doesn’t sit right with you when people manage to do that, so you avoid him. He doesn’t mind because he already has a lot to deal with on his own

Foolish : you are his favorite party and hang-out buddy. You’ve discovered he can cook very well, and you love to when he cooks for you

Tubbo : he really hates your over dramatic personality

Quackity : same as Tubbo, he absolutely can’t stand being in your presence when you’re being dramatic

Philza : even though it can be hard to see at first, he knows you have a gigantic heart and would trust you with his life

not every dsmp member has done something bad enough to get them banned HOWEVER those who havent still are friends with those who have and are guilty by association

for those who have actually done bad things:

dream - said a bunch of ableist stuff and was a jerk to fans and also queerbaiting, he also made racist remarks towards native americans and jokes ab grooming, he also allegedly groomed someone but we do not know 100% if he did or not

tommyinnit - theres multiple times he has made women very uncomfortable, theres also a clip of him saying the n word

gnf - queerbaiting and made a joke about george floyds death

wilbur - there is a clip of him saying the t slur, he has apologized for this however that doesn't mean he shouldn't be held accountable

Good Dad c!Wilbur fic recs

Hi, so if you've read my writing you probably know I am a big fan of Good Parents. In particular, I like Good Dad Wilbur fics. And since the ones I love most are hilariously underrated, here are my recommendations! Because God knows we can't get it in canon.

The Winner Takes It All, by @alwerakoo. Ngl, I sobbed multiple times while reading and it's got some amazing vibes. It's set in an ambiguous time period if you're a fan of those, and has a healthy dollop of angst. Also, Wilbur's not quite as much of a disaster as he is in some of my other recs, but he's still having issues. Very good, 10/10. Completed!

I don't think I want to leave you, by Anonymous. Very dark, very angsty. Wilbur is trying his best to be a good dad while struggling really hard, and it's heartbreaking. But it's also great because the emotions are so raw and how much Wilbur loves Fundy comes through in every line. Incomplete, but we're at 4/6 chapters. Also, has a happy ending! Also my current favorite.

If you find what you're looking for - be sure to send a postcard, by BialyLis. I know, recommending the 'I'm Ready Now' series when it's currently on the front page of 'Good Parent Phil Watson'. But this fic is genuinely so good, and having read the entire series, it's great to see the continued adventures of Phil and this three little disasters. This Wilbur is probably the second most disastrous on this list, only because he seemingly is holding down a job and a two month old baby by himself. It only has two chapters right now, but it's probably going to be long.

and on a more grumpy note, I feel like dsmp has this big problem where the fans will latch onto something, usually a pet (or a relationship), and run wild with it, coming up with all kinds of headcanons and lore and really inflating its importance. And then the actual cc is put in this awkward place where maybe they didn’t intend for it to be a thing, but now it’s a thing and they’re stuck with it whether or not they want it.

not pretending to know how the ccs feel, but watching Yohgurt, for instance, start off as a pet, then get promoted to son when someone pointed out he and Fundy were both foxes, and then end up getting inflated by some fans into a key component of Fundy’s character where there’s all this cute art for him, and people making headcanons about him, and his friendship with Michael or Shroud . . . it just feels like people are setting themselves up for disappointment.

minecraft pets are incredibly fragile, which makes it very hard to really do anything with them other than have them sit in a room and sometimes look at them. And the dsmp is such a chaotic place that there’s always a risk that something will happen (How many pet wars have there been now?) I get being annoyed with griefing, but not every thing that happens has to be such a big deal (and a lot of the ccs have been clear that everything having major importance to the fans discourages them from wanting to do anything on the server).

Like, it’s fine to form attachments with things, just remember that there’s a clear difference between fanon and canon, and they’re not always going to align.
