Some Oathmark Orc Infantry, assembled and painted to represent a specific faction from the D&D game I'm running. The Aak Qarsoq Garrison - Bloodspear Legionnaires. Orcs and half-orcs from the cold, deep south. They wield long, barbed sarissa lances and dress in armors made from the monstrosities they have felled.

Some rather disreputable looking fellows here, I must say
Tumblr media
These are mostly from the Oathmark Dwarf Light Infantry set, but I've made them up for Frostgrave so I can throw down a dwarf warband when paired with my other dwarves. Frostgrave works with soldier classes and there are a few important ones that I was missing. It was actually surprisingly difficult and I had to bring in a lot of arms/hands from other kits. The basic Frostgrave soldier classes are Thug and Thief, Thug with a hand weapon and nothing else and Thief with a knife and nothing else. It turns out though that it's surprisingly difficult to find empty, unarmored left hands. Most of these left arms are from the Frostgrave Cultist sprue, then there's one guy with Frostgrave Barbarian arms.
Tumblr media
This guy almost looks more like a gnome with that hat. I painted his hair and beard with Army Painter's "Fire Giant Orange" speedpaint and tbh I think it's my favorite paint to use for hair, it's SO good.
Tumblr media
This devious little scoundrel had his head painted with GW's "Guilliman Flesh" contrast paint and let me tell you: it is basically a straight downgrade from my usual "Cadian Fleshtone+Agrax Earthshade" method. I don't like the look of this model's skin much at all.
Tumblr media
I think this guy is the only one I built stock from the Dwarf Light Infantry sprue. Frostgrave has "Infantry" as a soldier class with light armor and 2h weapon. All my other 2h weapon dwarves are superheavies so I figured I'd need this guy to give me options.
Tumblr media
Another thief, this guy has the Frostgrave Barbarian arms, which are both comically ripped largehuge and also just a little too long for his little dwarven body. Also: the more I look at that face the less I like the expression.
Tumblr media
Another simple Thug and he does rather look it. Something about the hoods and the the Cultist hands I added to some of these guys really gives them a dubious vibe. This guy may have a nice tunic but he is clearly down on his luck and he seems intent to make that someone else's problem today.
So there we have 'em, the rakings and scrapings of the Holdless vagabond dwarves. I've got a few more to build to get me to a full possible roster but these will do to start. What have they done to bring them to the Frozen City of Frostgrave? Why aren't they where good dwarves ought to be, back in the holds in the bosoms of their clans? Who knows, but maybe some desperate adventuring and dungeon delving will get them set up right! Only time will tell.

So a quick musing on upcoming content:
I want to feature Oathmark as one of the games on my channel once I get to uploading on the regular. How we are going to record games (immersion break for a second) will allow me to record battle reports against myself, so I don't have to rely on Naz as an opponent when her energy is low.
That being said, it leads to an... interesting...situation where I need to prepare 2 Kingdoms, 2 Armies and plan things out a bit more.
This is fine, I kinda like this, but it's a strange issue hahaha.
Another thing on this, I was watching a wonderful video where the guy was showing off his territories, possible units, and terrain for his campaign via video and I think I want to do something similar, though I'd probably break it up into the year project and go on territory at a time.
I think I will have fun with this concept!

Goblins and hoplites? Of course it's canon
Well here we go. The mustering of the Oathmark / Oldhammer goblin army is almost complete. I’m 5 archers and 5 spearman short of a full starting compliment. Of course, I could do with mote cavalry, and a light catapult (or two). I could also do with some orc soldiers to provide some meat in this sandwich. In the meantime, my goblin general (king?) has taken advantage of a phalanx sized hole…

Gene Origin Headcanons
Veined
A gene that originated in the Scarred Wasteland. Warriors would accentuate their battle scars with metallic highlighting or tattoos to show off everything they had survived. The practice spread to mercenary groups and warriors from other flights, and eventually, to young dragons who wanted to make themselves look more edgy without actually earning scars. Some opted for the magical route and ended up passing the trait along.
Opal
A Dragonhome original. In the Crystal Court, petrification was reserved for two things. Persevering their most respected and powerful dead and executing their most dangerous and treasonous criminals. Some rebels, however, managed to escape after partial petrification. They escaped with their lives, but not before patches of stone and crystal had grown into their bones. It was a handicap for the first few generations, but the trait softened until it was purely aesthetic.
Runes
Originally called Oathmarks. Runes were magically binding oaths seared into the oath-maker’s hide. The terms of each oath varied, but the marks would always burn and glow if the oath-maker violated the their contract. If they were not removed, the runes could be passed to offspring, though the magical binding wouldn’t. After a few generations, the marks would resemble script, but would not be legible.

🫵 HEY WARHAMMER FAN! 🫵
The Old World is coming out, but you don't have to pay premium prices for it! Companies have literally built their business around just copying them for years! Buy the occasional character or unit to support GW, but let the rich ppl have their GW-sanctioned army!
I personally recommend Avatars of War, Kings of War, Proxywars, Wargames Atlantic, Wargames Foundry, The Assault Group, Oathmark, Reaper Miniatures, and, of course, 3D printing!
Always remember to shop and play at your local game store! They'll appreciate you buying third party minis that have been sitting in stock unsold for ages!
NOW GO, ARMCHAIR GENERAL! BUY THEM MINIS! 🏃🏃🧑‍🦽🧑‍🦽

Shitty lighting dorfs, go! Finally got ahead of accounting classwork for once, so of course I entered a fugue state and started assembling random dwarves. Currently waiting for sculpting epoxies to set before finishing off the right two, but overall, left to right, we've got a hirling/fighter, berserker/brawler, champion/paladin, and priest/mad spud farmer. Once I've got income again I wanna expand my supply of dwarf bodies, these oathmark kits are nice, but I'd like some more heavy armor

@frasohei replied to your post “So many games I want to play. And so few friends...”:
Huge mood. I’ve purchased several games systems just to sell them a year or so later because there’s no one within 100 miles to play with…
What rules do I have?
Warhammer 40k
Zona Alfa
Lion Rampant
Oathmark
Stargrave
Gaslands
A World Aflame
Team Yankee
Black Powder
Pike and Shotte
Yeah, quite a few...

My roommate is interested in a skeleton army for Dragon Rampant and hoo boy it's on the way. Already got a Litch and a box of GW Deathrattle Skeletons (they were on sale 40% off), and then in the mail I've got a box of Oathmark Skeleton Infantry, a box of Fireforge Undead Knights, and a couple Armored Skeletons from Northstar. Then I've already got like 12 skeletons built and painted and ready to go from before. It's a significant size army (potentially the Leader and 2 bodyguards, 20 Heavy Infantry, 30 light infantry, 10 archers, 6 cavalry and some zombie dogs for some reason) and I spent maybe $75? Hoping to use it as a pair of forces combined with my Dwarves to maybe take to the game store and drum up some interest in teaching games of DR. And maybe he'll be interested in Frostgrave as well.
And I was able to snag a copy of The Silver Bayonet and The Men Who Would Be Kings in the same order! It's been a very very good month for miniatures gaming for me.

One of the main reasons for giving in and taking up the hobby of miniature painting was the announcement of the Squats release from Games Workshop.
I’m going on about two months doing this, and since then, I’ve looked online to find Squat alternatives. I’ve found a few, but I think Wargames Atlantic’s Einherjar are the most popular and least expensive.
Upon first glance, they look pretty cool. This week, I bought a sprue from ebay with three Einherjar miniatures. And looking at them now, they resemble vikings more than anything. Along with the Einherjar sprue, I also bought some non sci-fi dwarfs from Oathmark and I’ve bought some steel warrior dwarfs from Mantic Games. What made the Oathmark and Mantic minis different (and what makes them look like dwarfs) is their stalky legs. Einherjar minis have slim legs. They’re a bit smaller than Imperial Guard, and really the only thing that sets them apart are their faces. Still, they look more like vikings.
I bought the sprues for kitbashing while I wait for another set of dwarfs - who do look heavy from the pictures. I can make use of some weaponry and heads. Which is the primary reason I bought them.

LISTEN, there is a big opening from what I see from finishing Legenborn for Bree, Nick, and Sel, to be a thrupple. But I fear it’s going to become impossible once I finish Bloodmarked, and not happening in Oathmarked when it’s done. BUT THE CHEMISTRY IS THERE. ITS LOUD. Stay tuned to me WRITHING in anticipation as I read the second book
