I am not over Obi-Wan trying to reach out for Qui-Gon in these two episodes because he does sound like he has been trying for years with no success but he's still believing it will happen eventually. The knowledge that he will manage that because he does become a Force Ghost in the end just brings up so many feelings.

rewatched the phantom menace and i forgot that after they run into maul, the Jedi say they haven't encountered a sith in millennia. which is so funny bc it means qui-gon and obi-wan absolutely did not expect this. they were trained on a philosophy of "this ritualistic style of saber-to-saber combat was once used as defense from dark side users, but don't worry, you won't encounter any of those guys, we learn it largely as a form of training and to honor Jedi of the past! n_n" and then in the middle of the fucking desert one of those guys shows up and tries to gut them.

I believe Anakin desperately wanted to wear eyeliner for most of his teenage existence but Obi-Wan wouldn’t let him because it’s ‘unprofessional’ and ‘dramatic’ so finally, at some point after Anakin’s knighted and Obi-Wan can’t stop him (in the middle of a war) he decides he’s going to try putting some on like…five minutes before a briefing. And it isn’t turning out the way he hoped and both his eyes are outlined in tons of black and he just starts sobbing and it’s running down his face but won’t really come off because he bought the good eyeliner and has to go to a briefing looking stupid and Obi-Wan can barely contain his laughter.
