Sometimes I forget that I am a writer and fandom oc motherfucker and I can actually post about it.
So.
I am a killjoy enjoyer. I have your traditional desert killjoy oc, goofy ass, etc.
But I have been thinking intensely about other like...biomes??? And the killjoys that reside there?? Like who's not to say there aren't 100 more huge ass cities likeBattery City? We see in National Anthem that the entire world is Just Kinda Like That. (Note I know National Anthem is a seperate canon, but I still like to think there are other cities/the World is Just Like That)
Anywho. Snow Killjoys. Big colourful parkas/snow jackets, ski googles instead of masks, they run around on snow mobiles and skis and ice skates. Listening to folk music and whatever they can pick up on the radio signals.
Tropical killjoys living off the coast of florida in loud tropical shirts and swimsuits under their clothing at any given point, ready to swim for it if they have to. Killjoys on boats and jetskis and suped up golfcarts. Listening to surfer rock and Jimmy Buffett.
Midwestern killjoys in flannels and worn jeans. Riding on the back of horses just trying to escape from the open air fields that leave no room to hide from attack. Listening to midwest3rn emo, and praying to the tv towers that shine above them that seem to go on for eternity.
Each having rheir own cultures and rituals that stem from where they are located, woth overlap regardless. Like the Phoenix Witch being called different beliefs depending on where you are and who you run with (like maybe she's called the frost mother or something in snowier climates). But they are all killjoys, they all stand for counter culture they just don't always look the same depending on where you are.
Idk its an idea I may expand on.

snippet of a fic of my ocs
The bike zipped between cars as humanly fast as possible, Jordan's helmet reflecting all that she passed by. Underneath, however, her face held an expression of determination and worry. She had to get there. NOW!
Soon enough she saw it: the tree Dolce told her she would be at. Revving up Jordan immediately turned the motorcycle, angling both her and the machine to the side momentarily till she was in the right direction. Hopefully she wasn't too late.
Once she was near the area, Jordan drove onto the dirt and up towards the hill the tree laid on like Hell was behind her. The motorcycle skidded across the dirt and fell to its side as soon as Jordan jumped off of it. Landing on her feet and taking off her helmet, her locks of hair tumbling down her back with her bouffant miraculously intact, Jordan cried out: "Dolce, are you ok!?"
Dolce was sitting on a checkered blanket with a wicker basket to her side and holding two champagne glasses in one hand and pouring a bottle she had popped the cork off of with just her thumb, replied; "Oh yeah fine, perfect, fantastic, care for a glass?"
Jordan just stared at her, her helmet falling beside her to the ground as she looked at Dolce with the most dumbfounded look on her face.
That dumbfounded look then turned to simmering rage, the leather of her gloves squeaking as she tightened her fist. "Dolceeee-"
"- You wouldn't have come otherwise!" Dolce pouted.
"Dolce you do not text 'stand users are attacking' without any stand users at all attacking you-"
"- I also put 'help'-"
"- Attacking you, and have me leave the campus, especially when I'm studying for a big exam coming up!" Jordan sighed. "I'm going back."
Dolce immediately got up as she said that, putting the glasses down carefully as she scurried over to Jordan who was picking up her bike. "No Jojo wait!" She begged Jordan, her hands wrapping around her waist as she stood behind her towering figure. "I'm sorry I lied, but this was the only way I could think of to get you out of Air Supplena for the day." Jordan grumbled at that, due to it being a 30 minute ferry to and from the school (which she cut down to 15 by making her own jetski in her haste), but Dolce persisted. "I know you're very stressed out about your exam-"
"I'm not stressed."
"Yes you are." Barbie Girl popped out briefly to counteract.
"-so I wanted you to take the day off with me and relax for a bit. I mean the test is only two days away, right? You still have time." She explained, her face pressed against the vibrant green suit Jordan wore.
Jordan looked away from Dolce. She wasn't wrong, Jordan had been studying madly all week due to science being one of her weakest subjects (and in spite of Barbie Girl insisting she cheat), and perhaps she had been stressed by it all and could perhaps use a break.
A small break at least.
Then she'd go back to hitting the books (with Barbie Girl literally trying to hit the books).
"Fine," Jordan relented, "but I'm still mad at you."
"And I'll make up for it!" Dolce snuggled into the crook of neck, her finger trailing the repeating pattern on her sides saying 'GOGOJOJO'. "Now have a drink." Dolce handed her a glass out of nowhere to Jordan's surprise as she pulled her over to the blanket.

So I kinda have two OCs?
One is called Dream Catcher and they're an Autobot and a jetski and pretty fucking useless on land I guess? They're rather small. And pink.
Then there is Night Terror. They are a Decepticon and they turn into whatever the fuck this thing is simply because it reminds me of the jack'o'pose meme and it makes me laugh:
Tumblr media
God it looks so silly.
Night Terror is purple and black or something. Maybe dark blue idk.

"Ghar"
My OC for Tidal Blades. He's a Desert-Dwelling Croc who Races Like A Champion. He's always eager to hop on his jetski, the Desert Winds and speed around.
His shemagh was a gift by a childhood human friend when they were both little. Ghar was awful about getting sand in his snout through childhood. While his snout has kind of outgrown the shemagh, he's worn it so much he feels naked without it.
Since he's grown up in the Droskani Desert most of his life, he's new to a lot of Naviri. His goal is to win the Nine Cups, but he has a long way to go to make it to the top.

[please blacklist spoiler tags: #loki tv series spoilers, #loki series spoilers, #loki spoilers]
Yes, I did just watch episode 2 at 5:30 in the morning.
No, I am not sorry. Not at the moment, although when I inevitably crash later this afternoon, I will be.
Just some very, very quick - and scattered and messy - thoughts: That is a straight up lie; they’re definitely scattered and messy but not very quick at all.
Under the cut for spoilers and length.
I’m going to start with Loki’s characterization. My honest opinion is that Loki’s overall characterization feels like a fic characterization. He definitely is not Avengers Loki, like, at all. I don't know if Tom just, like, forgot how to play that Loki or ...?? That, or Loki was so much more mind-controlled than we realized and getting hulk-smashed just completely reset him back to zero but also fucked him up a little bit and affected his personality, kind of like how some people completely develop weird new personality quirks after a traumatic brain injury.
… yeah, I think that’s where I’m gonna land for now. TV series!Loki feels like a more-or-less canon version of Loki, but if that Loki got hit in the head really hard and now he’s just a little bit fucked up but overall no worse for the wear. Which - it may be that it’s so early in the morning, but that’s actually really fucking funny to me, lmao. God, I kill me. It’s not funny.
No, but, that’s pretty much how I feel. He’s ooc but he’s also ic, and the reason I’m not particularly bothered by the inconsistency, for lack of a better word, is because that’s what pretty much every fic Loki already feels like to me? (Including my own, so I’m not, like, saying that in a derogatory way.) Which is why I say Loki feels like a fic!Loki and to try to explain it better - there is always, for me, a little suspension of disbelief that I employ when I read fic. The reason for that is because the context, the plot, and the dynamics of the fic are usually pretty different than what we ever get in canon, so it becomes a matter of taking film!Loki and, like, bending him a bit in order to fit him into the perimeters of the fic.
The result ends up being that I don’t see the exact Avengers!Loki or TDW!Loki, and thus by definition the portrayal is ooc, but the version that I do see feels like a genuine extension of the canon version, possessing enough of Loki’s overall traits and characteristics that he feels authentic, albeit a bit pretzeled for the new context.
I honestly think that’s something that’s unavoidable, just due to the fact that in fic - and now, in this series - there are a lot more variables at play than there are in the films, wherein Loki is not just a supporting character but also the villain/antagonist and is therefore very limited in what he does/what the narrative allows him to do. When those limitations are taken away, what are we going to see? Probably a lot of different things, and yeah, a lot of them are going to feel a little ooc. And, like in fic, even if the characterization mostly lands, there are definitely bits and pieces (some fics more than others lean this way) where the author didn’t stick the landing or got carried away or otherwise probably forgot for a while that they were writing Loki, not their own OC.
That’s the point where it strays into cringe territory for me (and where the ‘heh, he’s Loki but with a brain injury’ aspect comes in), but while I had to consciously decide to just ignore those moments, overall the tone in this episode felt a bit more balanced between the new, the old, and the cringe, and less whiplash-y from the beginning of the episode to the end.
… I have no idea if that makes sense, but what I’m basically saying is that while I am enjoying this version of Loki, I do recognize all of the ways he’s ooc but, unlike how I feel about Ragnarok!Loki, the ooc-ness feels genuine and unavoidable rather than just a fundamental and careless misunderstanding of the character altogether. In other words, I feel like any ooc-ness here is happening despite the writers taking care to do their best, and isn’t just a result of Loki being lazily written by a person or persons who just doesn’t want to bother with him at all.
Again, I don’t know if that makes sense, but fuck it, there we are and I’m moving on.
I liked all of the little details, including again, things that felt straight out of fic, like Loki asking Mobius why he has the jetski magazine. (Also, if any of my thorki friends read this, was I the only one who noticed that when we see Loki reading the magazine, it just happens to be open to a page with a picture featuring a jet skier who looks like Thor? l.m.a.o.)
Loki interrupting things to explain the difference between illusions vs the other power (I can’t remember which one, off hand, and if I stop writing to go look it up I will lose my train of thought and not finish this) was great, but his overall input and contributions to the missions inspired very mixed feelings for me. On the one hand, I loved that the narrative, via Loki, is reminding us of all these things that he’s capable of that the films generally left out or brushed aside or ignored - but, every time he spoke, he was met with eye rolls and sighs and just a general feeling of “someone please shut this guy up” and I didn’t like the narrative treating him that way.
But also, it’s understandable bc none of the people on his team are actually on his team. None of them want him there (story of Loki’s fucking life), none of them trust him, and none of them are particularly interested in hearing what he has to say. So it’s like, I understand why they reacted the way they did, and I don’t think their reactions are meant to support an overall narrative undermining of Loki’s skills and input - but, the tone is hard to read for me bc I am very defensive and protective of Loki. I can’t quite determine the line between the TVA agents being unreliable narrators (ie, they’re annoyed by Loki bc of who he is to them, but that doesn’t mean the audience is supposed to feel the same) and the TVA agents validating that Loki is just being a nuisance (and, thus, the audience is supposed to feel the same).
That is, I know how I am consuming the narrative (that they’re unreliable narrators), but I’m not sure if that’s how tptb are intending for me to consume the narrative - and I guess it doesn’t really matter, but it’s worth mentioning.
In general, I really liked, again, Loki existing in his own space and watching the way he carried himself. I especially found it interesting that his hands were almost always in his pockets - for one thing it's a stance I tend to imagine him taking often in fic, but also it’s kind of a weird choice bc pockets don’t seem to be a thing in Asgardian clothing. It makes me feel like Loki is the kind of person who never knows what to do with his hands but is always conscious of them, as is common among anxious and self-conscious people, and I just find that relatable on a weird level.
I am really kinda torn on Mobius in this episode; when not interrogating Loki, he’s much less antagonistic toward Loki and therefore I’m more inclined to take-him-or-leave-him but I’ll go ahead and take him I guess. Yet at the same time, bc he’s not interrogating Loki he’s also not trying to put on a show for Loki and when you take that away, he really doesn’t seem to like Loki at all. It supports that Mobius only wants what Loki can do for him and doesn’t actually particularly care about him as a person, which is fine and more or less what I figured, but it contributes to me not really being able to decide how I feel about him in general. Idk, though, I kinda like their dynamic? Like I want them to end up friends?
Regardless, Tom and Owen have amazing chemistry and it’s really funny to me bc (not to be a jerk) I honestly didn’t know Owen Wilson could act. Like, I’ve never seen him in a role where he wasn’t just playing Owen Wilson. So for him to not only be playing Mobius so well but also having such chemistry and a sense of holding-his-own against Tom Hiddleston is like, color me surprised but pleasantly so.
I like B-15 a lot, even though she obviously hates Loki, so idk why I like her but I do. I like Renslayer less, but meh. (Side note - when I was in undergrad in Syracuse, I took the Amtrak from Syracuse to Boston and back more than a few times, for reasons that aren’t relevant, and that route always had a layover at Albany-Rensselaer and every single time I see Renslayer’s name, I want to call her Rensselaer instead.) Shout out to the guest appearance by Casey, sorry Loki stole your juice lmfao.
The moments from the trailer that were very cringe were less so in context (though still kinda cringe, tbh). I think we’ve seen most of the content from the trailers in the first two episodes now, though, which means going forward, it’s going to be like 95% previously unseen material (aside from the brief apocalyptic shots and so forth).
One thing I fucking loved was how Loki, reading about Ragnarok, was visibly affected and even teared up a bit, and you could tell he was in his feels about it, but then later when Mobius expresses sympathy, Loki is just like, “Uh huh, very sad, but anyway.” It was a subtle (well maybe not that subtle) but effective way to remind us that what Loki presents to other people is more often than not a mask and he keeps his true feelings close to the chest. It makes last week’s breakdown have even more of an impact, I think, bc clearly Loki was at the end of his rope to allow himself to show that much raw emotion and vulnerability, but also - for me - there’s a niggling little doubt there that wasn’t there before, in that there was probably more performance in it than I thought.
By which I mean, I think his reaction to the film of his life when he was alone was genuine but, while I previously thought his admission to Mobius later was also genuine, I now think was probably half genuine and half performative. I know others already figured that out, but I’m a little slow and, also, I don’t mind changing my opinion and interpretation from week to week.
Along the same lines, I wasn’t exactly surprised to see that Loki is “undercover” in the TVA, but it was nice to see it acknowledged fairly quickly. Not sure I buy that Loki wants to overthrow and rule the TVA - it’s still a little too “Loki only wants a throne” for me, but again, just because that’s what he told the variant doesn’t mean that’s actually what he’s after.
And, finally, I like the variant, I love Loki’s reaction to seeing her, and while I realize that the show has acknowledged Loki’s gender fluidity and we’re meant to assume that Lady Loki (I guess? Not sure if we’re going with that or not here) is Loki, I saw a theory somewhere about how this is actually not Loki-Loki, but - I wanna say her name Sophie but that’s the actress, again I can’t go look it up bc I will lose my train of thought - but it’s a character who is similar to Amora and who was created by Loki and models herself as Loki but she’s actually someone else.
Ugh I can’t remember the details of the theory, but I am kinda going with it bc I don’t think that Loki would look so - not surprised but just kind of “oh, well, I wasn’t expecting that” if he were seeing the female version of himself. Like, he doesn’t seem to recognize her the way I assume he would recognize himself, male or female. Not only does that make me feel like she’s actually someone else, but also not recognizing her as the female version of himself doesn’t necessarily mean Loki doesn’t recognize her at all. He may very well recognize her as this other Amora-similar character and, if so, I really want to see how that character fits with MCU Loki (as I think she’s a comic book character but, again, I’d have to go back and find that theory).
Edit: I found a version of it here.
Overall score, B-. Mostly solid, but needs moar Loki breakdowns and tears. (That's just me, don't fucking judge me.) Also, I really hate that we have to wait a week between episodes. I wish they were following Netflix’s method of dropping the entire season at once but, then again, if they did that, I’m not sure any of us would survive.
I gotta get ready for work and I deleted and rewrote so much of this and it still seems nonsensical to me, lmfao fml. Anyway feel free to interact/send me asks/whatever, it’s going to be a long fucking day with all of this on my mind. I’ll be working my way through my dash as best as I can.
Oh, also! Loki is so fucking pretty in this episode! The TVA suit is ugly, but he makes it work, and his hair's combed nicely and he looks like he finally got an opportunity to sleep and shower and eat something and, yknow, it's working for him.

37 and 66 from I love you things with Ollie and Jess?
A/N: Hi Nonny! Thank you so much for this prompt. I’m so sorry it took me a while to write, but I hope it was worth the wait. I went back and forth while writing this between making it a reader-insert and using Jess as an actual OC and finally settled on the latter, because it just felt right. (Which is probably how I will continue to write this pair going forward also.) Word Count: 3493 Rating: G - mostly fluff - heights (and fear of influencing how it’s written), a little swearing, referenced/implied panic attack
Jess closed the shop at 6pm on the dot, giving herself an hour to get ready for...whatever Ollie had planned. There weren’t a lot of places to go out to dinner in the area, and she desperately hoped he wouldn’t start out by inviting her home to meet the infamous Charlie Sway. She chewed nervously on her nail, staring at her closet. She knew she needed something that would work for anything, but her mind continued to run in circles trying to decide exactly what that meant.
She couldn’t remember the last time she’d given this much thought to what she looked like on someone else’s account. It felt strange to say the least. But, she mused, not a bad kind of strange. Eventually, she settled on a cute cream-colored sweater and jeans, hoping that the evening temperature dropped enough to make them reasonable.
There was a soft knock on the door and she frantically cast one last look over herself in the mirror, smoothing down her shirt and hair, stomach twisting nervously.
She threw open the door perhaps a bit overenthusiastically, a warm expression on her face.
“Hi,” she greeted him, the single syllable all she could get out as she met those soft blue eyes.
Ollie grinned when he saw her, the excited, adoring expression making her heart flutter. It was hard for Jess not to scoff at the cliché, when she was behaving like the protagonists of the romances she sold by the dozen. But at least he was looking at her the same way, and seemed at least momentarily speechless.
“Uh, do you want to come in?” she offered meekly after a moment, gesturing over her shoulder. “Or I can come out, and we can...I mean...um...”
The two of them stood there, staring at each other dumbly for a moment, on either side of the doorway.
“So...where are we going?” she asked after a long pause ripe with awkward tension. She wanted to kick herself. Ollie had been so easy to talk to from the moment he walked into her store, but now, suddenly they were going on a proper date and everything felt different?
“I have a picnic bag in the back of my car, and I thought we could drive somewhere, and then maybe hike a bit?”
“A hike?” she asked nervously. “Like, up into the mountains?”
“Yeah. There’s a point up there that has great views of the entire town and the lake. Nik heard about it from one of the girls at the bar we were flirting with…I mean he was flirting with mostly. It wasn’t...I mean I didn’t...and this was before I met you…”
“Ollie,” she laughed lightly, tilting her head to one side to look at him. “I’m not the blushing, swooning virginal maiden, and I don’t expect you to be either.”
He coughed, face turning crimson and she couldn’t help smiling fondly. Finally, things were feeling a little more normal, this was still the same Ollie she had come to adore.
“You’re also only here for the summer, or however long it takes you to find your Dad’s record. So I hadn’t set my hopes on serious, or exclusive. I just think you’re cute, and fun to be around, so why not enjoy something and see what happens with it?”
“Oh.” His face twisted as he considered her words.
“However, I don’t think a hike is a good idea. It’s going to be dark soon.”
“There’s still almost two hours before sunset, and I brought flashlights so we can get back down the mountain.”
Of course, he had planned ahead. It would be stupid to plan a hiking date and not account for that, and he was far from stupid. And they were both dressed fine for the occasion. Her mind quested desperately for some other reason that they shouldn’t go and came up blank. So instead she held up a finger for him to wait, and went back to collect her camera. If she were going to do this, she might as well get some good photographs out of it, she rationed. Maybe even one she could sell prints of, if she was incredibly lucky. (She already felt insanely so, when such a wonderful boy wanted to go out with her, so why not see how far that streak ran?)
~
The first part of the hike went surprisingly smoothly, and it didn’t take long before Jess and Ollie were joking and laughing, scrabbling over rocks like young goats, playing eye-spy with the woods, any weirdness melting away in the evening sun. She barely noticed the way their path climbed, and felt completely relaxed.
Gradually, without her noticing, the trail narrowed and became steeper, until it rounded a tight bend up ahead, nothing but air off to her left and solid rock to the right. She swallowed nervously, trying to keep her eyes from the empty space. All of her joviality dropped away like the ground.
“Jess?” Ollie asked, noticing her discomfort as she edged very slowly along. “Are you alright?”
“Yes. Yeah. Fine. I just...don’t like heights.” She answered, breath and words coming in short bursts.
“Oh. Shit. Um, we can turn back if you want? I didn't realize you--”
“No. No, it's fine. We're here now. I'll make it through. You just might have to hold my hand for the way back down.”
She’d meant it as a joke, a light flirtation to distract her from the many, many feet she could fall with one misstep. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to be doing any good, as her mind found a way to focus on both the space and how cheesy the sentence was.
“Do...you want me to now?” he countered, holding one slim hand out.
She flashed him a small smile, taking it with her own and trying not to think too much about how nice, how right it felt. “You’ve been taking lessons with Nikolai haven’t you?”
“What?”
“That was smooth, Oliver,” she teased, enjoying the way he turned red all the way to the tips of his ears.
~
Eventually, the young couple made it to the overlook, with much gentle guidance from Ollie to keep Jess’s nerves from overwhelming her, and she gasped. The lake stretched out below them, still and silver in the evening light, shining like a mirror. Tiny specks of color, moving too fast or too far for the eye to really track marked the boaters and jetskis, and kites flown from the small public beach. Most of the buildings disappeared into the verdant green surroundings, and the ones she could still spot looked like houses and shops and mansions for Polly Pockets, not people. The sun was just starting to dip behind the mountains on the far side of the lake, hazy outlines of shadow against the sherbert sky.
“Oh, Ollie,” she breathed, stunned. “It’s beautiful.”
He mumbled something she didn’t catch and started unpacking the picnic he’d brought in his backpack. Not wanting to disturb him, and clearly left to her own devices for the moment, she took out her camera, adjusting the lens carefully, capturing as much of the view as she could. Then, on an impulse she turned around and snapped one of Ollie, silhouetted against the forest and the peeks of sunset between the trees, before he could notice. The sound of the shutter, or the finishing touches being put on dinner, made him look up.
“What are you doing, Jess?” he asked, confusion written across his features.
“Taking pictures of beautiful things,” she answered with a shrug, bringing the camera to her eye again.
“No,” he held up his hand to block it, laughing.
“I’m serious. This place, up here away from it all, suits you.”
“You’re full of shit, Jess.” He shook his head, his hair falling across his face.
She took another photo while his guard was down.
“Come sit down. Marlena put together a good meal.”
Relenting after another photo out into the distance, almost wishing she dared to get closer to the edge of the overlook, she carefully disassembled her camera, storing each piece with reverence back in its bag, before sitting across from him. He had set up quite the array on the blanket: simple but delicious looking toasted sandwiches, glasses and lemonade, berries and chunks of watermelon, and what looked like very freshly baked chocolate-chip cookies.
“Ollie, it looks amazing,” she said with a smile, popping a sweet, juicy blackberry into her mouth with a small, exaggerated moan. “And tastes even better.”
He blushed, shrugging and laughing sheepishly. “All I did was carry it up here.”
She rolled her eyes as he deflected yet another compliment. He seemed to always be doing that, much to her frustration, and she made a mental note to find a way to make him see how much she meant them, how true each one was.
Silence fell over the two of them as they started picking at the buffet between them, but it was an easy one, a pause rather than an interruption, and eventually conversation resumed. She asked him about his search for his father’s record and listened as he spoke of the things he had found, which weren’t what he was looking for but seemed to bring (mostly) happy memories of his childhood. He asked for stories of her family, and of what the town was like when summer-people left.
“Sway Lake is a different place,” she concluded eventually, casting her eyes about her on the clifftop, “just like it is from up here. Or frozen in a moment in your record.”
By now the remains of the food had been set aside, and the pair had scooted closer on the picnic blanket, sitting side by side and facing out, instead of across from one another. Hesitantly, Jess shifted her hand closer so that their pinkies brushed, daring him to take action and hold her hand again. He didn’t seem to notice as he turned to face her, eyebrows knitted in confusion.
“I…” he cleared his throat and started over. “You have a really unique view of the world.”
Something in the way he said it made it feel like the kindest compliment someone could give, and it was finally her turn to blush, ducking her head to hide as her cheeks heated furiously.
“I mean I guess,” she fiddled with the edge of the picnic blanket beside her, plucking at a loose thread so she didn’t have to meet his eyes just yet. “I’ve never really thought about it like that...”
“The view up here must be great for photos,” he said, making her laugh at his abrupt change of subject, obviously picking up on her embarrassment and knowing it well.
“Yeah, it is. I’m hoping they come out well. Thank you for showing it to me.”
“The way people were talking, it’s pretty well known...how come you haven’t been up here before?”
“Heights, remember?” she flashed him a half-smile as she tilted her head to one side. “I’ve never had someone invite me before who seemed worth the risk.”
“How do you know if something’s worth it without ever seeing it?”
“You know your record is without hearing it don’t you? Besides, I said someone, not something.”
He froze, blinking owlishly at her.
“Ollie?” she asked after a long pause, wondering what was going on with him suddenly.
“Can I kiss you?” he blurted, and now it was her turn to freeze, the question momentarily incomprehensible.
“Yes,” she breathed, barely getting the word out before his lips were pressed against hers.
The contact was abrupt, almost a headbutt but more romantic. There was a moment of awkward fumbling, of bumping noses and clashing teeth, until their mouths finally slotted together properly. Even after finding the right way to connect, there was a split second of hesitation, and then his hands came up to frame her jaw, pulling her closer, the tips of his fingers teasing at her hairline and the small hairs that had escaped the scrunchie holding most of it back. Keeping one of her own hands on the blanket to hold herself steady, Jess wrapped the other around the back of his neck like an anchor and leaned into the pressure of his soft lips on hers.
All too soon he pulled away, panting breathlessly, and staring at her with an awe that made her own breath catch in her throat. She was half tempted to pull him back into another kiss, if only to make him stop looking at her like that.
A distant roll of thunder shattered the moment, and her eyes flickered toward the clouds gathering on the blue-purple horizon.
“We should probably head back, before that gets here,” she said reluctantly, wishing she had more time.
Ollie nodded in agreement, and the two of them made quick work of packing back up the remains of the picnic. He handed her a heavy black flashlight (that, she noted gratefully, and then laughed internally at her own thought, would double as a decent weapon against a rogue mountain lion at least long enough to run) and set off down the mountain. She tried to follow him without looking down, but the uneven terrain in the growing darkness made that too difficult to maintain. Soon the very idea filled her with just as much fear as looking. The edge of the path seemed to drop sharply, drawing ever closer to her feet in the narrow beam of yellow light, until it felt like she was walking along the very line of the drop.
She stopped short with a yelp, head spinning from the sensation and whole body trembling. The sound made Ollie turn around sharply, placing himself as a barrier between her and the fall as she pressed her back firmly against the rock.
He took her by the shoulders, trying to get her to make eye contact instead of staring blankly at the sight, or lack of sight beyond him.
“Jess? Can you hear me?” he asked. “It’s alright, Jess. I’m right here, I won’t let you fall.”
Her blood roared in her ears and she saw his lips move but it was too loud for her to hear him.
When talking didn’t seem to work, he wrapped his arms around her, drawing her into a tight hug. Her fingers curled into his sweatshirt, clinging to him like a lifeline. Face pressed into the side of his neck she let out a sob, as the world spun around her much too fast.
~
The rest of the journey down to Ollie’s station wagon and much of the drive were a blur. Jess wasn’t completely unconvinced that he had somehow found a way to carry her down, although that was giving his physical strength more credit than he looked like it deserved. The storm picked up as they drove, clouds turning the sky to black, lit only by the occasional crash of lightning, and rain slamming against the roof and windows.
All too soon, the car stopped, parking in the narrow street in front of her building. They exited the car and promptly Ollie took her by the hand, lacing their fingers together. Not wanting to stand in the rain, she used the point of contact to drag him along, running as if she could dodge the water falling from the sky until they made it to her door. They stood there under the eaves, hair and clothing dripping, facing each other reluctantly, not wanting to say goodnight just yet.
“Tonight was…” he said, pausing.
“Amazing?” she finished, smiling and feeling the light heat of a blush on her cheeks.
“Yeah. That.” He smiled back, and looked for a moment (during which her heart beat like a bird trying to escape her chest) like he was going to kiss her again. “I should let you go inside…”
“Stay over,” she blurted out before she could consider the words.
“W-what?” he stared at her like she’d just grown an extra head or twelve. “Jess I can’t do that…”
“It’s late. And the weather’s bad. And I saw you yawning while we were driving back. I’d worry about you if you tried to go home now.”
“It’s just around the other side of the lake…”
“Yeah, but that’s like half an hour unless you drive recklessly. All it takes is drifting off for a second...please stay?”
“But...what will people think?”
“People,” she raised an eyebrow, “or your grandmother?”
“I don’t just mean her. I don’t want you to be treated like--”
“A slut?”
He shuffled and looked away.
“People aren’t that bad, you know. There are a handful of dicks, but most of town doesn’t give a shit.”
“I didn’t mean…” he frowned. “I’m a Sway. I know people don’t like my family. If you’re seen with me like that...I know what being an outcast feels like, and I don’t want you to have to feel that way.”
“Well I guess you'll just have to make sure no one sees, then.” She smirked, before she sighed. “Look, Ollie. We're grown adults. What we do at night, or any other time, or with whom is no one's business but our own.”
“I know but--”
“No. No buts. I wouldn't have invited you to sleep over if I didn't mean it, or I wasn't prepared for gossip and fallout. It’s up to you. I just would feel a lot better if you did.”
“You really want me to stay?”
She rolled her eyes and fixed him with a look rather than actually answering. The wet breeze sent a shiver over her as she turned to unlock the door, not waiting anymore for him to make a decision.
“And it’s not...too fast?”
She shrugged, taking him by the arm to pull him into the house and into a kiss. Her other hand threaded into his hair and his hovered over her hips as if he wasn’t quite sure he was allowed to touch her .
“Too fast is a myth,” she murmured, breath ghosting across his face. “Besides, I was inviting you into my house, not my bed.”
She’d lost count by now of the number of times she’d managed to make Ollie blush tonight, but each time you did was just as adorable as the first.
“Although, I was going to offer to take the couch,” she said over your shoulder as she led the way toward the furniture in question, “so I guess it was...also...into my bed…this is...I’m making it weird.”
“What? No!” he fumbled to reassure her. “I mean, no. You’re not, not no I won’t sleep in...I don’t want to, without you. Not that we have to sleep together. It’s just. It’s your bed.”
“God we’re a pair,” she said, laughing now as she dropped down and motioned for him to sit beside her. “Tripping over ourselves like romantic baby deer.”
“I just don’t want to mess this up,” he admitted sheepishly, sitting awkwardly perched on the edge of the cushion as if he was going to run at any moment.
“Is there...something to mess up?” she asked, reaching over to take his hand and lacing her fingers through his.
“I think so,” the words may have been a statement but his face was a question as he turned toward her a little more. “I don't want this to be some summer fling, Jess. I want it to be real.”
“Hey, summer flings can also be real. There was this one guy who…” she paused at Ollie's expression and shook her head, “never mind. The point is they're not mutually exclusive. But I appreciate the sentiment. And I’d really like that too.”
“What does that mean though?” he asked.
She paused. “That’s what we have to decide. But...not tonight. It’s late. We should go to bed and talk about it when we’re rested.” She fought back a yawn that emphasized her point as she stood.
He nodded, watching her turn and cross the room, eyes lingering low. It took him a moment to realize when she had stopped moving again.
“Well aren't you coming?”
“What?” he squeaked out.
“It occurs to me, the bed is big enough for two and way more comfortable than the couch.”
“I…”
“I just mean to sleep, for real. And, I guess, maybe cuddling?” She bit her lip nervously. “Unless you're not good with that…”
He stared for another long, awkward moment. “Even with my nightmares?”
She shrugged. “Yeah. I’ll deal. Or maybe having someone else beside you will help.”
Ollie scrambled to his feet, nearly tripping over himself in his rush to join her by the doorway. She laughed, lacing her fingers with his and leading him further through the apartment, silently marveling at how well things had gone, for a first date.

Hello, hello, hello, hawkeye. 🥺💛 🏆fic youre most proud of? Besides Luzes do Semáforo, that I answered about here, I really love all my rabiscos of our ocs and "nothing lasts forever but this is gonna take me down". Idk. There is something about writing an AU so specific for a pairing that just makes me smile. (it's the taylor swift lyrics, i bet) 📒any fics planned? Always.... always... I have to answer a few prompts in my inbox (you guys can always send more, it will only take some time!) but I have too much college work to do so I need to focus on that for now but I'll go back to "writing for fun" again soon! 🎤fave line in a fic you wrote? Answered that one here! 🎁 have a quote from a WIP? "And jetskis. He would never forget the best creation of the 90's in his humble opinion."

Ey I'm going to make a list of oc AUs for shits and giggles so if anyone wants to ask about them or something then go ahead and hit me up I have nothing better to do.
Lilith Streith:
Killer Queen- Murder lass AU. She's just mean and too good at acting.
Kit-Astrophe- Monster AU!
Modern Times- Self Explanatory, she has a jetski tho
Forgotten Millennium- Lord Huron inspired AU in which French leddy is a bitter deity of sorts!
Bite Me- Vampire AU... What can I say? I fond myself fond of the teefs
Viva la Resistance- Far Cry 5 AU. Time to fight a cult.
Jarius Heilen:
Unlovable- Jarius is toxic now AU. Bad lad.
Wolf in Man's Clothing- Monster AU! Sometimes a dude turns into a big fuckin dog. That's just how it be sometimes!
Modern Times- Again, self explanatory. Jarius has a job now that is not robbing people
Zayden Barone:
Hellbitch- Monster AU again! This time featuring an even larger fuckin dog! But one that is a bit meaner and also slightly more demonic
Modern Times- He still has a gang, but now he has to do his taxes.
Broke Those Cuffs- Far Cry 5 AU, hard to be a criminal when everybody is committing crimes. So he just encourages it and lives his best life as a criminal in the chaos.
James O'Donnell:
Supernatural Sitter- Monster AU. James is fucking old as dirt and now just keeps Zayden in line to make sure he doesn't go feral. Sometimes he forgets he is not entirely a people.
Modern Times- Guess who went to college and is roommates with Zayden and helps manage the gang? That's right.
Amelia Alexi:
Catalyst- Amelia says ACAB, but instead of straight murder that makes her more likely to be killed, she follows Sol's guidance and decides to let the cops get themselves killed. With a bit of nudging of course.
Vibe Check- Monster AU, but less monster in this one. She just happens to attract the entities for some reason. Vibe check is through the roof, no echolocation, vibe checking for direction.
Modern Times- Now she does odd jobs and sometimes plays music. Has a cat.
Deputy- Far Cry 5 AU, aka the original Amelia. Small tired ginger gets to lead the charge against cultists that took her pals. She just wants to go home.
Evil in the Residence- RE 2/3 AU. The S.T.A.R.S agent that took the wrong vacation days and has the worst fucking timing.
Fuckin Bluecoat- Modern AU but she is a cop now. She is doing her best to fix shit
Everlasting- Vibey lass becomes a demon after harassing another demon.
Sol Vatican:
Angel in Title Alone- monster AU! Guess who somehow managed to become an angel despite being a bastard man that hates people?
Modern Times- Info broker that just likes to stir shit sometimes.
Hunt Barreth:
The Hunter- Monster AU. Monsters and beasts roam the land, someone has to cleanse the place of them.
Modern Hunt- Very done Cop with few fucks to give and a habit of quietly letting folks off for small crimes.
Lucius Farlowe:
Dealt With the Devil- Monster AU. Dumbass made a deal with a demon and can't die until the demon wants his soul. He just thought it would be neat to learn guitar from the dude at the crossroads
Modern Lucius- Hunt's partner in the force. Very likely to let folks get away with small crimes that dont really hurt folks.
Turn Coat- Far Cry 5 AU. Peggies strike a good deal and he works hard to try and convince Amelia to take it.
That is all I can think of atm

Pesona Wisata Pulau Tidung

2. Which oc is considered ethereal by others?3. Which oc is considered the most approachable?4. Which oc is creeped out by space or what’s in the ocean?8. Which oc can’t wait to travel through space or the ocean?
2- On the surface, with Mike being an Angel, it immediately seems like he would be. But with him being so down-to-Earth and often childish, he really doesn’t come across ethereal unless he has his wings out. And even then, if you see him acting like a goofball, it’s harder to focus on the mystical element there X)
Sooo, despite her being evil, I’d say Aicha comes across the most ethereal. She’s always floating/hovering both delicately and ominously, she doesn’t age and wears expensive clothes despite only being seen in the woods or in water, and her golden eyes are more of the same- Nice, but inhuman. Pretty, but unsettling. I think that’s a fairly decent bet for an ethereal impression~
3- Now this one is definitely Mike. It’s his job to be approachable, trustworthy, friendly, and uplifting. But it’s also his personality at this point~  Leon and Mia are also pretty approachable, but Leon’s enthusaism can be off-putting to some, and Mia generally prefers to watch things (people, interactions, etc) from the outside a lot of the time.
4- Chester is afraid of the ocean itself, as are most people on his planet, so no-one really knows what’s in there or what causes boats to sink or the waves to swallow people whole. He’d be afraid to even think about what creatures might live in there.
Claude is also a little nervous about ocean creatures, especially the deep-sea animals and anything with a sting, but he doesn’t believe in aliens enough to be nervous about those. Sam is very unnerved by the thought of space though. In a verse where they know each other, they would often have long conversations and reassure each other about each area. (Until Marilyn comes along and scares them both worse than before~)
8- Mia would probably be really excited by the idea of space travel, and would want to bring Marilyn along with her (which she would be up for in principle). Leon loves the idea of an adventure in one place or the other, but would hate to actually go, so books and make-believe are plenty enough for him~
And if he didn’t have his job to focus on, Mike would be up for an adventure in either place too; he’d definitely be more eager to go to space than the ocean, but jetskis, speedboats, and submarines are very tempting too >w> (Not to mention the texture all that seasalt would give his hair~)
