And with that, 2000 years of history and 10+ years of an animated adaption later, Attack on Titan is over.
I wasn't planning on making an essay post about this but like all of my essay posts, it got crazy out of hand, so here we are. I have a lot to say on it and the more I wrote, the more I realized exactly what the Attack on Titan finale was about. It's cathartic. It's also kind of a big shitpost but not for the reasons you might think.
Spoilers for the Attack on Titan finale ahead! CW: DISCUSSION OF WAR AND GENOCIDE AHEAD!
Now for anyone who knows what I'm about to talk about (and anyone who follows my stuff here), I'm sure you're wondering , what side do I fall on in regards to Attack on Titan's ending? Am I about to talk shit about it? It's very divisive and somewhat inconclusive. It followed the exact ending in the manga which, while expected, was still disappointing to many who had hoped the anime would take some other path.
But I have to ask, could there have been any other way?
Eren committed mass genocide, bordering on extinction of the entire human race. There was no way that he was gonna come out of it redeemed or as a hero, and he knew it. He went straight up Walter White core here and like Walter White, he is not a hero.
Tumblr media
The fact that the Marlayans have been constantly going to war with other countries using Eldians as their personal soldiers goes to show that for countries that seek out conquest, there's no target too small or insignificant that can't be marked as an "enemy", and we see that reflected in Eren as well, in his pursuing of "freedom", an ever-moving goalpost that can never truly be satisfied.
The Jaegerists were hellbent on creating a new empire on the bloodshed of Marley - 'an eye for an eye', so to speak.
Nothing was ever going to truly satisfy either 'side' in the conflict of humanity vs. Eldians because such conflicts' origins have been obfuscated in hundreds of years of history, propaganda, and generational trauma that has repeated itself for so long that many don't even know what they're fighting for anymore, aside from one thing - that they don't want to suffer, that they shouldn't have to suffer for the actions of their ancestors, that they want peace and happiness but don't know where to start with taking the first step.
I think people are disappointed in this ending because, let's face it, it's anime, and it's an anime adaption that took years to finish. We always want to see some kind of vindication from stories like these, but I think in having vindication, it ultimately removes the point altogether of what's being said.
As much as we may try to fight it, try to deny it, the course of human history travels in a circle. Conflict will always arise. History is written by the victors, and those victors will be seen as heroes by whichever side they're fighting for regardless of what heinous acts they may have committed to justify their salvation. And after all of that conflict, regardless of the result - time goes on, and new conflicts arise.
But I don't think that means we have to succumb to grief and suffering and that's a point that I'm seeing missed in a lot of the discussion around the finale. There's a very powerful scene between Armin and Zeke, in which Armin talks about how he was born to run up the hill with Mikasa and Eren. He recognizes fully that if his life isn't meant to be long, he can still cherish those small moments that he thinks back on fondly, the moments that defined his life with the people he cared about.
And that's really all life is. Small moments and experiences that stick with us until the end. The very act of being born in and of itself is a cosmic miracle that gives us the chance to experience things that bring us joy and stay with us forever - however short or long that 'forever' may be. We take these small moments for granted when we're comfortable, but we look for them the most when we're suffering.
If I can relate all this to another piece of media that says the same thing - albeit with a much brighter ending - FF XIV: Endwalker also asks a similar question to Attack on Titan - is the only meaning in life to suffer and die? Of course, by its end, we learn that while death and suffering is an inevitable part of life - not something that should be avoided - it shouldn't persuade us to give in to fear and despair as a constant state of being. And I think Attack on Titan goes for a very similar approach, albeit slightly more as a cautionary tale - a nihilistic reminder that ultimately, the losses and victories we find in our current point of history are still just that, a single point, a blip that will be forgotten until it's ultimately repeated, and there's no escaping that.
It cautions us that freedom cannot exist without constant vigilance for war and conflict. It cautions us that our values and core beliefs for attaining freedom, love and happiness can be twisted into a weapon to cause harm, vindication gained at the cost of another. It cautions us that when left in the wrong hands, power can and will be abused by the ignorant while propagandizing itself as "the greater good".
So why not just find the joy that we can? The friendships, the little moments, the things that bring us happiness even if only temporary. Conflict is inevitable, suffering is inevitable, but that doesn't mean life isn't worth living. "Happiness" is not a tangible end point - it's the side effect of living a meaningful life that's true to yourself.
Attack on Titan is over. Some will argue the ending was the only way, others will argue that there could have been another way and that the anime adaption had the chance to change it but still didn't for reasons beyond their comprehension.
But isn't that the whole point? We'll argue. We'll bargain. Many of the arguments made will reinforce our own beliefs further rather than sway us. Many of us will insist there had to be another way, just as Armin insisted that this couldn't have been the only way, that humanity must have had another option. Meanwhile, many of us will acknowledge that at the end of the day, this is the story Isayama wanted to tell, and regardless of whether or not it makes him an idiot toying with his audience and admitting defeat by lampshading it in the penultimate scene of Eren admitting to his own idiocy, this was the power given to him and he used it in the best way he knew how.
Much like in any conflict, there's one thing that unites both sides - the human need for joy, connection, and freedom.
We might not agree on how Attack on Titan ended, but we can agree that it was a hell of a ride, and I hope we can all agree that it was worth riding, even if it wasn't satisfying for everyone in the end. It brought many people together regardless of their backgrounds, experiences, and differences, and connected them through something they all loved for over ten years. And despite how big a part of our lives it was, life will still go on, and we'll move on to other things to watch, enjoy, and argue over. Isayama will move on to whatever awaits him next, knowing fully well that his choice was his own, that he created the series he wanted to create regardless of how people feel about it. We'll all look for our own forms of joy and happiness as life moves on around us, as conflicts come and go.
Isn't that really what freedom is at the end of the day?

Summary: Sanji glances over at Zoro, who's been awfully quiet, even for him. He finds the swordsman staring at the rest of the group with a dejected set to his shoulders, and Sanji's about to kick him and tell him to haul the stick out of his ass until he sees Zoro absentmindedly reach up to trace his fingers along the scar over his left eye.
Oh.

“If everything goes to plan, we’ll hit the next island before sundown,” Nami says, earning a chorus of cheers from the crew.
Stretching their legs on land will be a nice change. They’ve grown restless, cooped up on the ship for too long. Sanji is feeling particularly pent up this time around; he’s been picking fights with Zoro nonstop over anything and everything, from getting in the way while he’s cooking to simply just existing, all to try and release some frustrated energy.
It’s not like he wants to be picking these fights, he just can’t seem to help it. Honestly, things with Zoro have been good, lately. Different, but not in a bad way. When they’re not fighting, they enjoy each other’s company, sitting quietly on the deck or doing the dishes together in the galley.
It's always easier when it's just the two of them, Sanji muses, less hostile, less explosive, neither trying to outdo the other with no one around to impress. They're equally guilty of trying to antagonize each other, but they have quiet, calm moments too.
Sanji's finding he likes these moments more and more lately. Zoro knows him, knows what he's capable of after them trying to beat the shit out of each other so many times, and so Sanji doesn't have to try so hard in these moments, when it's just the two of them. There's nothing to prove to Zoro. Maybe there was, in the beginning, but not anymore, not after so long. He hates Zoro's company a lot less than he used to think he did.
He thinks about it idly as he finishes cleaning up from lunch and starts dinner prep. Until he hears commotion from out on deck and pokes his head out of the kitchen to investigate.
“I see it!” Usopp exclaims, pointing in the distance to the vague outline of the approaching island.
“Good eye, Usopp!” Luffy praises, practically vibrating with excitement.
“It’s a fall island,” Nami informs them. “Judging by the weather right now, I’d say it’s the fall season, too. Dress warm, guys, I bet the temperature will drop once the sun sets.”
The Straw Hats are buzzing with anticipation as the island grows nearer, shifting from a distant shape into a stretch of vegetated land, leaves changing color for the season.
There’s a small port waiting for them, and Luffy is the first one off the ship, slingshotting himself over the railing with a rubbery snap before they're even fully docked. He disappears in pursuit of adventure or meat, whichever he stumbles upon first, followed by Usopp who witheringly promises the rest of the crew he'll try to keep their captain in check.
Nami is next to disembark with Robin in tow, eyes bright as she anticipates what sort of clothing shops the island may offer. Chopper and Brook follow close behind, chattering excitedly, and Zoro and Jimbei trudge after them.
Sanji opts to stay and help Franky finish mooring the Sunny. He tosses the thick ropes over the side of the ship, where Franky ties them to the dock with expert hands. They double check the anchor is lowered, and then they're off to see what havoc the rest of the crew is wreaking.
As he steps off the pier and onto solid ground, Sanji notices a flash of green off in the distance. The rest of the crew have already disappeared inland, but Zoro is by himself, headed in completely the wrong direction.
"Oi! Marimo!" he shouts, waving an arm in the air to get Zoro's attention. "Town's this way!"
Zoro's head turns, and although he's a little too far away to see, Sanji's sure he's scowling.
"Go on ahead, Franky," Sanji tells his companion, "I'll wait for the moss head."
And Sanji does wait, lest Zoro get lost again. He sticks out amongst the reds, oranges, and yellows of the foliage that lines the coast, brightly colored leaves fluttering from the trees and into the air around them as he finally catches up.
"I knew where I was going," Zoro mutters once he's within earshot.
Sanji scoffs. "Sure, mossy. Whatever you say."
The town is just a minuscule walk away, shrouded with more colorful trees shedding their leaves. The tips of Sunny's masts are just visible over the treetops, flags waving in the warm breeze.
The swordsman and the cook walk in companionable silence until the worn path gives way to cobbled streets dotted with buildings and vendors. The market is bustling, humming with excitement, and Sanji finds it washing over him, putting a smile on his face and a skip in his step as he flits through the market stalls.
Zoro follows him without much interest, probably just on the lookout for a bar, Sanji suspects. He keeps an eye on the moss-brained idiot to avoid losing him in the crowd, and is rewarded when Zoro is still by his side as they come upon the town square.
It's a flurry of activity. People are hanging lights and banners on every available lamppost, tree, and awning, while others arrange tables and chairs, and musicians warm up and tune their instruments. Sanji can smell spices of something cooking, curry and turmeric, maybe, and Zoro finally perks up when several barrels of alcohol are rolled by.
"What do you s'pose is going on?" Zoro asks him.
Sanji shrugs. "No idea. Let's ask somebody."
The place is scattered with large pumpkins and bundles of corn stalks, and the next person they pass is balancing on a stack of hay bales while he hangs a string of lights.
"Excuse me, sir?" Sanji asks politely. "What's everyone doing?"
"You're not from around here, are you?" The man smiles at them. "We're preparing for the fall festival tonight! Everybody's been looking forward to it all year! You're more than welcome to join in the festivities with us!"
"Seems like we arrived at a good time, then," Sanji says to Zoro as the man returns to his decorating. "It sounds like fun."
"Hm," Zoro eyes the preparations critically. "As long as there's booze."
Sanji rolls his eyes and elbows him good-naturedly. "Of course that's what gets you excited."
Zoro's retaliation is drowned out by their captain's shouting.
"Zorooooo!!!!! Sanjiiiiiii!!!"
Luffy is gathered with the rest of the crew on the other side of the square, waving wildly at them. He bounces up and down as they approach and points at a nearby table.
"Look! We're gonna get our faces painted! Isn't it cool?"
Sanji grins at his enthusiasm and looks over the array of palettes and brushes set out on the table. He notes many of the locals milling around the area are already sporting various colors and designs, all strategically painted to accentuate their eyes.
Nami bargains with the young man doing the face painting, stating they should get a discount because they're such a large group. After the berries are handed over, Luffy has his turn first, too active in the stool he's asked to sit in and making the artist almost smear makeup all over his face because he won't stay still.
The end result is still stunning. Despite his squirming, shimmering shades of scarlet dance around Luffy's eyes like flames. He cackles with glee looking in the small mirror he's provided, then waits impatiently for the rest of the crew to have theirs done.
Nami is next, her eyes veiled in glimmering turquoise that looks like the sky reflecting off the ocean.
Then Usopp, with shining greens and warm browns reminiscent of a forest canopy. Luffy gives him a high five as they admire their new looks.
Robin gets sparkling purple and black, enchanting as a night sky, and Sanji is sure to tell her as much, complimenting Nami as well.
Brook is done up in glittering gold, then Jimbei in vibrant silver, looking a little unsure of himself but pleased nonetheless. Franky follows in brilliant blue and yellow.
Chopper hops up next. The makeup won't stick to his fur, and he's utterly devastated until the artist suggests painting on his antlers instead, and he squeals with delight as his horns are made pink and sparkly.
Sanji glances over at Zoro, who's been awfully quiet, even for him. He finds the swordsman staring at the rest of the group with a dejected set to his shoulders, and Sanji's about to kick him and tell him to haul the stick out of his ass until he sees Zoro absentmindedly reach up to trace his fingers along the scar over his left eye.
Oh.
Sanji's heart clenches at the sight. He doesn't know what happened to Zoro's eye, isn't really sure if he wants to know, but he does know how hard it must have been to adjust with an injury like that. It hasn't slowed Zoro down in the slightest, he's come out the other side stronger than ever, but seeing the forlorn look on Zoro's face as he watches the crew having fun, Sanji wonders if maybe the damage wasn't just physical.
Either way, Sanji will be damned if he lets the idiot feel embarrassed and left out because of a stupid scar.
"C'mon," he tugs on Zoro's sleeve, "your turn next."
"Hm?" Zoro shakes himself from his thoughts to glance at Sanji, then to where Chopper is having the finishing touches put on his antlers. "Oh. It's okay, you go ahead. I don't need–"
"Nuh-uh," Sanji crosses his arms, "you're doing it. You know Luffy will be upset if we don't all do it, and Nami-san already paid for us all."
Zoro scuffs the toe of his boot against the ground, head down. "Nah, I'm good."
Sanji frowns. He has one more trick to get Zoro to do his bidding, though he'd been hoping not to have to use it.
"What, you scared or something? Need me to hold your hand, Mossy?"
Zoro's head snaps up and he levels Sanji with a one-eyed glare. "I am not scared."
Sanji smirks. "Prove it."
And prove it he does. Zoro stalks over to the table and plops his ass down, still glaring daggers. Sanji flips him off and then turns to the rest of the crew to avoid his steely gaze. They're all in good spirits, and Luffy is positively ecstatic about the festival and the food that will accompany it.
"Your turn, cook."
Sanji jumps and spins to face Zoro, who's snuck up behind him while he was talking.
"Wow," Sanji blurts, "you...it looks great."
The other strawhats have been made up with glitter and shine, but Zoro's been given matte colors, dark green and burgundy that pair well with his hair and earrings. The scar has been left untouched, as if it weren't even there. His lashes are lined with sharp black wings that make his face look more severe, eyes sharp and fierce.
It's a little offset, though, by the flush creeping up on his cheeks.
"Shut up," Zoro mutters, "I'll cut you."
"You'll try," Sanji smirks, before taking his place at the table.
"What color would you like, honey?" the artist asks.
Sanji thinks for a moment. "Blue, please."
The man sweeps Sanji's bangs out of his face, which. Ah. That's not something he considered having to do to get his face painted. At least he doesn't make any snide comments about the eyebrows. Sanji closes his eyes to let him work, his grip strong on Sanji's chin as he tilts his head this way and that, deft fingers sliding the brushes over his closed lids.
"Almost done," the young man tells him. "I'm sure your partner over there is going to love it."
Sanji opens his eyes to see where he's pointing, prepared to tell him that unfortunately, despite his best efforts, he and Nami still remain firmly in friendship territory.
Except he's not pointing at Nami.
He's pointing, at Zoro.
"Wha–" Sanji sputters, before lowering his voice, because god forbid anyone hear them, "he is not my partner!"
The man blinks at him. He looks at Zoro, then back to Sanji again.
"Oh, honey," he says simply. "Whatever you say."
As soon as the last stroke of the brush is done, Sanji bolts like a feral cat.
Zoro catches his eye and raises his eyebrows. "You look–"
"Shut up," Sanji growls, "I'll kick you."
He joins Luffy at the front of the group, leaving Zoro behind and bewildered.
--
The festival gets into full swing as the sun sets. The square is lit up, struck with lively music and cheerful crowds.
Luffy immediately makes for the buffet table, and Zoro for the drinks. Of course.
Sanji, still a little frazzled–because how could anyone think–Zoro–euck– sticks to Jimbei, who is more than happy to be quiet company.
Until they're joined by one moss-headed swordsman.
"What do you want," Sanji snaps.
"Brought you a drink, idiot," Zoro says, handing him a mug. "Looks like you need it, geez."
Sanji takes it wordlessly and takes a sip. It's a strong, sweet mead, honey coating his tongue and warming his throat.
This is something he and Zoro have done for a long time now, since Cocoyashi. Whoever gets the first drink of the night gets the other one as well. Sanji isn't really sure why he started it, he just knows it's entertaining to see Zoro's face light up when a drink is placed in his hands.
After Zoro leaves, Sanji chugs the rest of his mug and searches for a refill right away. Jimbei gives him a questioning look but doesn't pry.
Really, though. Zoro? No way. Sanji wouldn’t go for the mosshead, not in a million years. Never mind how good he looks when he’s swinging those damn swords around or how strong his hands are when they brush up against Sanji’s while they’re drying dishes–
Okay, yeah, he’s going to need that refill. Sooner rather than later. Enjoying Zoro’s company is one thing, but these are things he’s not quite ready to be thinking about yet.
The drinks help him unwind, and he loses track of how many times his cup is refilled. Mood considerably lightened and forgetting why he was stressed in the first place, Sanji talks and laughs with Usopp, dances with Chopper, even sings a little with Luffy. The atmosphere is wonderful and the locals are friendly, and Sanji mingles with them under the falling autumn leaves.
Nami offers to buy him another drink, and Sanji agrees because he'd sooner chop his legs off than say no to Nami. He downs it and stumbles into a chair, not realizing how drunk he is until Chopper appears in his face, telling him maybe he should slow down and have some water.
"M'fine," Sanji waves him off with a hand that feels much too heavy, words sticking to his teeth.
"Sanji," Chopper whines, "you've had a lot to drink. I don't want you to get sick."
"M'not–hic–gonna..." Sanji trails off as he tilts to the side.
Chopper catches him before he tumbles out of his chair, the sudden stop making his guts lurch.
"M'kay," Sanji admits, bracing his hands on the table to steady himself. "You're right. M'gonna...go'n sober up a bit."
He staggers to his feet, Chopper hovering nervously until he gets his balance.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Chopper asks.
"Nah, s'alright," Sanji pats him on the head.
He makes his way through the buzzing crowd, intent on finding somewhere quieter to sit and suck in some fresh air, but he's stopped by Nami draping herself over him. Sanji's too far gone himself to even freak out about it.
"Sanji," she singsongs, her cheeks flushed and words slurring. "I drank too much. Finish this for me, would you? I don't want it to go to waste." She thrusts her mug into his hand.
Give it to Zoro, Sanji wants to say, but Nami is already gone and the swordsman is nowhere to be found. He stares down at the swirling liquid in the half full mug. It would be a shame to waste it, and Sanji doesn't waste things.
Sorry, Chopper, he thinks, gulping it down.
Bad idea. Bad idea, bad idea, bad idea. He drags himself away from the crowd as his steps become more wobbly, limbs floaty and uncoordinated, lights and falling leaves blurring together and making him lightheaded.
He drops gracelessly onto a bench on some side street, leaning back all the way and taking deep breaths, praying for the world to stop spinning. He's not sure how long he sits there, body lax, staring up at the full moon through the trees. The festival is white noise in the distance.
"There you are," Zoro's voice permeates his dulled senses. "Been looking everywhere for you. Everybody wants to watch the fireworks together, come on."
Sanji snorts, his head still reeling. "So they sent you to find me?"
Zoro squints at him, stepping closer. "Are you drunk?"
"No," Sanji replies automatically. It's punctuated by another involuntary hiccup. "Maybe," he amends.
Zoro chuckles and moves to sit next to him, lowering himself onto the bench with a satisfied groan.
"Are you?" Sanji asks. "Drunk?"
Zoro shrugs. "Nah. The booze here's a little sweet for me. Besides," he smirks, "somebody's gotta look out for your sorry ass."
Sanji huffs, but doesn't argue.
"You alright? You've been...weird, tonight." Zoro frowns. "Curls?"
"Yeah," Sanji sighs. "It's just..."
He tilts his head lazily to look at Zoro. Zoro's looking patiently back at him, elbows resting on the back of the bench. For as quick to anger as they are with each other, Zoro is always patient when it counts. Sanji is trying to be more patient in return.
"I don't know," he finishes lamely.
He's still staring at Zoro, and Zoro doesn't shy away. The eye makeup looks more dramatic in the darkness, painting him some sort of ethereal being, cut from the night sky–
Okay, no. Sanji slams the brakes to that train of thought. Where the hell did that poetic bullshit come from? This is Zoro, for crying out loud.
"You cold?" Zoro asks him suddenly.
Sanji pauses to try and take stock of himself. He's warm on the inside, fueled by alcohol, but on the outside he's shivering.
"Dunno," he replies. He vaguely recalls Nami telling them all to dress warmly before they arrived here, and he wishes now he had better listened; he's only dressed in a light shirt.
"Here," Zoro says. He shrugs off his thick green coat, and carefully wraps it around Sanji's shoulders.
Sanji grasps at it, pulling it tighter around himself. The residual body heat Zoro left behind envelops him and he sighs contentedly.
"Better?" Zoro asks.
"Mm," Sanji nods. The motion makes him dizzy again, and he presses a hand to his temple.
"I think we should get you back to the ship," Zoro suggests. "Can you walk?"
"Yes," Sanji says indignantly. He pushes himself to his feet, only for his body to protest. He sways and the dizziness comes back in full force. "Shit."
Zoro catches him before he can topple over, holding him up like he weighs no more than a sack of flour.
"I'll take that as a no, then," he snickers. "C'mere, Curls, hang on to me."
He arranges Sanji's arms around his neck, and lifts him so they're pressed chest to chest, Sanji's thighs curled around his waist.
"This is so fucking embarrassing," Sanji mutters, too drunk to really protest. "Don't you dare tell anyone about this, shithead, or I'll kill you."
"Yeah, yeah," Zoro placates, insincere. He adjusts the coat around Sanji's shoulders and they set off.
Resigned to his fate, Sanji instead focuses his efforts on correcting Zoro's course to make sure they stay headed towards the ship. The fireworks start, loud booms thundering across the night air, and Zoro trudges along, unbothered, his hold unwavering.
Sanji glances up through the trees to look at the fireworks, but the bright lights and colors only serve to make his head spin more.
Eyes screwed shut, he hides his face in Zoro's shoulder with a miserable groan.
Zoro's grip tightens near imperceptibly. "I've got you," he murmurs, his voice a gentle reassurance warming Sanji's ear.
I know, Sanji thinks. He trusts Zoro implicitly to keep him safe when he's vulnerable like this. Zoro always keeps the crew safe.
Zoro continues to march them towards the ship, and Sanji continues to take measured breaths in through his nose, trying to ignore the pounding in his head and the churning in his stomach.
It's a losing battle, and he urgently taps Zoro on the back. "Put me down."
"Tch. You can't walk, cook. Don't worry, there's nobody around to see you getting carried like a baby."
"Put me down now, or m'gonna puke on you."
Zoro takes the hint and quickly sets him down. Sanji crashes awkwardly to his hands and knees and proceeds to hurl his guts up.
He tries to aim for the bushes so he doesn't make a mess of the picturesque street. Zoro's coat slips from his shoulders and he trembles in the cold night air, eyes watering with the force of his retching.
Zoro kneels beside him calmly, wrapping an arm around him to keep him from nosediving into the pool of his own sick. He cards Sanji's hair away from his face, even though it's not quite long enough to really be in the way.
"I've got you," he repeats.
Sanji groans and curses himself. He doesn't usually drink like this, and here lies the reason why. He almost always ends up making a damn fool of himself, and this time it's in front of Zoro, of all people.
When he's finished defiling the shrubbery, Zoro guides him to lean back, and Sanji lets him, placing all his weight on Zoro while he tries to catch his breath.
"Done?" Zoro asks.
"Think so," Sanji gasps, wiping his mouth on his sleeve. He's way too fucking drunk to care about propriety, and his dignity is lying in a puddle in the bushes.
"Let's get you home."
He's bundled in Zoro's coat once again and lifted into strong arms. He feels a little better after throwing up, just exhausted now, and Sanji lets his eyes slip shut and rests his head on Zoro's shoulder.
The rest of the short journey is a blur, and Sanji comes to as he's being lowered to sit on the edge of his bunk.
"You're really fucked up, huh?" Zoro snickers at him when he starts to list sideways again.
"Shuddup," Sanji grumbles, shoving at him with clumsy hands as Zoro props him up.
Zoro's steady hands move from his shoulders to his neck, unbuttoning the first button of his shirt to make him more comfortable and removing his tie with deft fingers.
Sanji looks at him sleepily. "How come you're doin' all this?" he asks. Surely, Zoro would much rather return to the crew and the party, not be stuck here with a miserable cook who can't hold his liquor. He's surprised Zoro didn't just dump him in his bunk and leave.
"We're crew," Zoro says simply, bending down to untie Sanji's shoes and setting them aside. "We take care of each other."
Sanji stifles a yawn and lets it happen, too tired to argue. He rubs a hand over his drooping eyes, only to find it comes back smeared with blue glitter.
"Shit," he mumbles.
He'd completely forgotten about the face painting, hasn't even looked at himself in the mirror since getting it. While it probably did look nice, Sanji's sure he looks like a wreck now, shades of sparkly blue streaked and smudged all over his face. He flops over onto his bunk in defeat.
Zoro smirks down at him, his own eye makeup impeccable. "Wait here."
"M'not goin' anywhere," Sanji promises. He's become one with his bed, sprawled on his back like a starfish, blanketed by Zoro's coat. He tries to pretend the sensation of being tossed back and forth is from the ship rocking on the waves and not his own poor choices.
Zoro returns after an indeterminable amount of time, a glass of water in one hand and a wet cloth in the other. He sets the water aside and sits on the edge of the bunk. He reaches out, cupping a gentle hand under Sanji's jaw, and lightly angles his face to wipe off the glitter.
The cloth is blessedly cool on his flushed cheeks, and Sanji leans into the touch. He watches Zoro through half lidded eyes, warm and safe under his sure, calm hands.
Zoro wipes the last of the makeup from his face, brow furrowed in concentration.
"The blue looked nice on you," he comments absently. "Matches your eyes."
Sanji looks up at him dumbly, not quite sure what to make of that. "Huh?"
Zoro's eye widens as if he's only just realized what he'd said. He stands quickly and backtracks across the room, ears turning red.
"Wait," Sanji calls after him, reaching out blindly. He didn't mean to chase him away. He'd been surprised, that's all. People don't usually compliment him. Zoro doesn't usually compliment him.
Zoro crosses his arms and looks at him from the corner of his eye, cheeks still tinted pink. "What, cook?"
"Nothing," Sanji says. "Just...thanks."
Zoro nods. "You need anything else? I brought you water."
Sanji shakes his head. "Mn-mm."
"Warm enough?"
"Mmhm."
"Alright then," Zoro heads for the door, "go to sleep. There's more festival stuff going on tomorrow morning. The rest of us will get breakfast in town so you can sleep in."
It's thoughtful. Sanji's chest feels full.
"G'night, Zoro."
"Night, cook."
The door clicks shut. Sanji snuggles into his bunk and promptly passes the fuck out.
----
The morning brings him a mouthful of dry cotton and a splitting headache.
Sanji hisses when sunlight hits his eyes, streaming in from the porthole window. He rolls over in his bunk, guts rolling dangerously with him, and before he has time to think his instincts have him on his feet and staggering outside to gag over the side of the ship.
"Sorry, Sunny," Sanji mumbles, patting the ship's railing apologetically.
He shivers in a cold sweat, still feeling sick and shaky and in desperate need of a smoke. He's awarded a small miracle when he finds his cigarettes still in his pocket from last night. They're a little squished from being slept on, but they'll certainly do the trick.
He leans heavily on the railing as he lights up, face scrunched in defense of the bright sun. He estimates it to be late morning, which means he's really slept in. The ship is uncharacteristically quiet, and Sanji vaguely remembers Zoro telling him the crew would be in town for the morning.
He's grateful for the break. A hot shower is in order, and he really needs to brush his teeth as well. Plan made, he grabs a comfy change of clothes and heads for the showers.
Much later, Sanji reemerges, still exhausted and with a killer headache, but feeling considerably less gross. He makes for the kitchen and the familiar safe haven it provides.
Only to find it already occupied.
Zoro is by himself, leaning casually against the counter and sipping from a steaming mug.
"Marimo," Sanji grunts in greeting.
"Cook," Zoro nods, hiding a smug grin behind the rim of his drink. "You're alive."
Sanji sinks into one of the stools on the opposite side of the counter and shoots him a withering glare, head pillowed on his arms.
"You are not to speak a word of last night to anyone," Sanji warns. It doesn't come out as menacing as he intends, because as he says it he remembers–mostly remembers, the fine details are a little fuzzy– just how pathetic he'd been, and how Zoro had gone above and beyond to make sure he got home safe and sound.
Zoro's face has been cleaned of makeup, but Sanji remembers how striking it had looked, accentuating his sharp eye and jaw. He remembers how Zoro had been reluctant to participate, how he'd hesitated and touched the scar marring the side of his face. He'd held Sanji with those same hands, but with confidence and reassurance rather than hesitation.
He hears Zoro puttering around, opening cupboards, and Sanji lets him, lacking the energy to stop him from messing with his kitchen.
He trusts Zoro, anyway, he thinks, not to make too much of a disaster.
A second mug is placed inches away from Sanji's nose. He sniffs at it and looks at Zoro questioningly.
"Coffee," Zoro says. "I didn't poison it."
"A feat," Sanji teases, "for you in the kitchen. I'm surprised your algae brain can even figure out how to turn on the coffee machine."
Zoro rolls his eye, smiling fondly. "I'm not as helpless as you think."
This is the part where they start arguing, Sanji thinks. But the longer the moment stretches, and the more he drinks from his coffee, made perfectly to his liking, the less he wants to kick Zoro's brains out and the more he wants to just...
Just what, he's not sure. But it's quiet, and comfortable, and the midday sun is shining through Zoro's hair and glinting off his earrings and if Sanji were to suddenly get stuck in a time loop, this wouldn't be a bad moment to have to relive.
This is the different he's been feeling lately, creeping up on him again.
"Thank you," Sanji says, deciding to indulge the feeling for a change. "For last night."
Zoro's cheeks and the tips of his ears become dusted with pink. "Don't mention it."
And, yeah, okay. Definitely not a bad different.
Not when Zoro smiles at him like that.

Hi! For the ask game, sukuita or goyuu? Whichever you feel like answering.
I also recently discovered your fics and I'm in the process of binge reading them. Your ideas are so fun and interesting.
Thank you!! I'm very glad to hear you're enjoying my fics, and it's always very flattering to hear the ideas are interesting 💗
Sukuita
Ship It
What made you ship it?
When I was reading JJK's description and after I saw the first episode, I thought I might end up shipping these two because the dynamic seemed so interesting. And then I watched/read the whole thing, and well, I wound up shipping it but not as my main ship and not how I usually ship. Sukuita is one of the few pairings I'm into where I don't want a happy ending or anything harmonious, just the two characters taking their hate and rage out on each other. I find it deeply compelling from that angle and that angle alone.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
So, the thing is, this is one of those pairings I ship in a very specific way—namely, I want them to try and rip each other apart, and dicks can be involved, as a bonus. It's why the current manga developments are highly pleasing to me. I just think it's fun when they blur the lines between sex and murderous violence.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
Oh, many, but I think my most unpopular opinion is that I find happy sukuita to be fundamentally unappealing, even in AU settings. Whether they're brothers, demon-and-vessel, or mundane lovers, I want them to be tearing into each other.
Goyuu
Ship It
What made you ship it?
I don't just ship it, I'm pretty sure it's in my bloodstream now. I have not gone this insane for a pairing ever, and it's a mix of factors that's making me write and plot like a demon, but god, the end result is borderline insanity. It initially piqued my interest at a purely superficial level when Gojou kept casually invading Yuuji's space while looking and acting like he had zero innocent intentions, but it was Yuuji's first death at the detention center and their interactions afterward that really got me into it. There's amazing chemistry there, simply as two people who get along, and I love how they treat each other, from the beginning to the end.
What are your favorite things about the ship?
For all our sakes, I'll stick to one aspect, or I'll write a whole essay. I love how they humanize each other from the get-go and how that never really changes. Gojou's the strongest sorcerer, acknowledged by everyone to exist on a level beyond other humans, and to Yuuji, he's first and foremost his beloved teacher. Even after Yuuji learns what Gojou's capable of, he sees Gojou as a fellow human being who needs support like they all do. In Shibuya and after, his desperation to save Gojou and willingness to even die for it just fucking murder me. And the immediate attachment Gojou displays toward Yuuji is just as compelling. He says why early on, in the crematorium: He simply likes people like Yuuji. And he shows it through and through. The first and one of the few instances of true anger we see from Gojou is when Yuuji dies, despite only having known him for two weeks at the time, and he exhibits that attachment and affection, as well as faith in Yuuji, throughout the story.
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
My, uh, entire JJK catalog on Ao3 is an unpopular* take on goyuu 😂
*Compared to the fandom norms that is, as people often like to let me know. The fics themselves are doing fine, and the vast majority of my readers are lovely.
Ask can be found game here.

I watched the live action One Piece because of you and your excitement over it and I really loved it, so thank you! Wondering if you have suggestions of where to go next? Read the manga or watch the anime? It honestly seems a bit overwhelming, so not sure where to start.
That's awesome! I love inspiring people to try One Piece, it's a really fun ride! It's always great seeing new fans coming in to enjoy the series! 🤗
I wanted to be as informative and thorough as I could for anyone wondering about this, so this might be long, but I'll provide a summarized version to start then include the long version under a readmore if you want more info in order to decide. Sorry if it gets a bit rambling lol.
So the answer to the "anime or manga" question is not necessarily complicated, but it is a little more nuanced than some fans will lead you to believe (a lot of manga-only elitists have a hate boner for the anime to a degree that imo isn't warranted) . There are a few major factors.
Summarized version:
1) this one's obvious, but bears saying; if you prefer manga, go with the manga, if you prefer anime, go with the anime. If you like both, go with both, unless you only want to consume one. Some people tend to gravitate towards one over another, and that's fine.
2) if you're interested in consuming both, I recommend starting with the anime, then going to the manga after, to avoid tainting your experience with the anime by comparing it to the manga all the time. If you only want to consume one, stick to the manga, because it is the better version. If you're on the fence or haven't decided yet, start with the manga then decide if you want to also try the anime later.
3) if you want to consume the anime, then determine how much of the original experience you want to be retained. There's not many filler episodes, but they do exist, and there are watch lists that explain which episodes to skip if you don't want to watch them. Otherwise obviously the manga is the true original and is the best version of the story. The anime isn't terrible, I still enjoy it, but it does have its flaws compared to the manga. That said, it does also have some benefits you can't get from the manga such as the top notch voice acting (at least in Japanese) and incredible soundtrack. Also the animation in Wano has been sending One Piece fans to the emergency room with priapism lately so do with that what you will.
4) determine how much time you're willing to invest. The manga is going to be the fastest way to consume the series, but there is a fan edited version of the anime that speeds up the pacing to match the manga, and thus takes a lot less time to catch up on. You can also read the manga then look up your favourite scenes in the anime as a supplement without investing into watching the whole anime, either shorter or longer version. The only thing to keep in mind is don't ever skip any canon arcs, you WILL regret it later. Oda never forgets.
Where to watch/read:
If you want help finding a good place to read or watch the series, for free or otherwise, let me know and I can provide some links! I can also provide recommendations for which movies to watch and when if anyone is interested in those, or even just OP fanfic recs if there's a market for that lol.
Now, for:
The long version (oh god I'm so sorry this got so long I am incapable of talking about this topic succinctly):
1) what type of media do you prefer and have an easier time consuming? Comic or animation?
I have an anime only friend who struggles with reading comics for some reason (he can read books just fine, but he struggles with comics and he doesn't know why), but he loves the anime, and is even currently rewatching it so we can catch up on watching Wano together since that arc is ending soon and we like to wait and binge entire arcs instead of watching weekly. If you prefer one over another, then whichever that is, is fine fine to go with. If you don't have a preference, then your next factor is:
2) do you want to only consume one, or are you open to consuming both?
I read the manga and watch the anime. I get a slightly different experience from both, I prefer the art and pacing of the manga, but I love the voice acting and music of the anime, and some moments just hit harder for me in the anime. I haven't cried very often reading the manga, but I have cried quite a bit more watching the anime when seeing the same scenes, like full on sobbing at some points ngl. It's not that I think the moments are done better in the anime or that they're not just as sad, but I have an easier time crying when seeing something in motion with sound for some reason. I rarely ever cry when reading books or comics. It happens, but not as easily or as often. Also while the animation throughout most of the series is middling (not bad but not amazing) for most of the series, aside from major fights, the most recent arcs have seen a huge upgrade in regards to the animation, WCI to some extent but especially Wano. The animators have just been going HAM on the animation during Wano. Like, it's all but impossible to find good examples without spoilers because of just, how many spoilers there are at that point in the story, but I'll at least show Luffy being pretty lol:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That said, the anime isn't without its flaws, but I'll get to that in a bit.
If you do want to consume both, then personally I recommend watching the anime first. I find people who read the manga first are more prone to comparing everything in the anime to the manga and wanting things to fit 1:1, which I think puts the anime at a disadvantage and makes people a bit more hypercritical of it. But ultimately this is up to you. Maybe you don't know yet if you'll try both, in which case the manga is probably better because it's the version that, by its nature, is the best version, and will give you the original experience, and you can decide later whether you want to supplement that with the anime as well.
If you only want to consume 1, at least mainly, then the next factor is:
3) How much of the original experience do you want to stick to?
The One Piece anime doesn't have nearly as many filler arcs/episodes as other long running shounens have had in the past, and past Enies Lobby there's almost no filler arcs whatsoever, aside from the rare 2-5 episode arcs, usually ones that advertise the movies that came out not long after they aired. But there are some full filler arcs earlier in the anime, and the general consensus is that most are pretty meh. Not horrid, but nothing special, and many of them ended up accidentally contradicting canon when new information about the world or certain in-world systems came out later. There are watch guides for skipping these widely available, and most OP fans do recommend watching the G8 filler arc because it's viewed as the only one that is on par with, or at least close to, canon content. I enjoy it myself as well personally.
That said, one of my biggest gripes about the anime, especially after sabaody up until Wano, is how it takes Odas more mild level of sexualization in comparison and dials it up to 1000. At its worst it has taken scenes where a female character is introduced with a full body shot and a name/title card in the manga, and turned it into a scene where the camera zooms in on her boobs, thighs, waist, butt, and then slowly pans up her body starting from the feet, including boi-oing noises or weird many sound effects with each zoom in shot. It also increased the boobs sizes and decreased the waist sizes constantly, put a lot more effort and attention into boobs jiggles than was necessary, and at least one point they even blatantly zoomed in on Nami's boobs bouncing isolated on the screen while she was running for absolutely NO reason. Oda doesn't do this in the manga. He doesn't introduce women in bits and pieces focusing on their body parts in an oggling manner, he doesn't put their boobs front and centre unless it's maybe by accident because of necessary framing. Even when he has sexy shots of women, they're usually full body shots that also even manage to serve as establishing shots most of the time. I also often get the feeling that a lot of it is also him being aware of his target audience in Japan, which is teenage boys. You can see a lot of how his approach adjusted when he has a different audience in mind in the Live action, not only regarding stuff like diversity (which WAS present in the original, their real life equivalent ethnicities have been said to be diverse for a long time, but Oda himself, as much as I love him, only has one skin tone marker in his whole house apparently and he uses it for every single character in colourspreads and covers, including the characters that are supposed to be black, and the anime isn't much better on that front, so it's nice to really see the proof of the diversity visually in the live action in a way that doesn't come across as clearly in the anime or manga), but also in regards to adjusting shounen tropes to better fit a live action setting. You can see in a lot of his SBS answers that he takes his target audience and what he wanted to see as a young boy into account a lot even if he might otherwise explore different tropes or depictions or structures in a different medium or genre.
BUT the anime does have its flaws. I won't pretend that Oda doesn't draw his female characters sexier as the series goes on, and while he also does with the men (Zoro canonically has the biggest bust size on the crew according to Oda lmao) it's not to the same degree as the women. This is especially concentrated around Nami, possibly because Oda's wife is a Nami cosplayer and iirc he met her while she was cosplaying Nami. It's the most overt in certain later arcs, but not too present in earlier arcs up to, say, Sabaody. But, while he does draw the women sexier, he's not... Idk the right terminology to use but he doesn't employ an oggling pov towards the women very often. Not never, but compared to the manga you relatively rarely get much particular purposeful focus on body parts like boobs or ass, there's also never any panty shots (seriously, not a single one in the entire series). That's not so say that the series is always perfect in this sense, but rather that's to compare it to the anime. And while there are some things One Piece doesn't do perfectly sometimes, there are also a lot of things it definitely gets right about how the women are written as complex multifaceted people with conflicts and motivations just as deep and diverse and complicated as the men. They mostly just look extra seggsy sometimes, at least the main ones do. And YMMV, but personally I'm okay with some sexiness, so long as it doesn't compromise the characters story and personality and doesn't go overboard to the point of being softcore porn, which Oda doesn't do in the manga. And I also don't like how often criticism of sexiness turns into shaming any clothing that shows more skin. There's a difference between disliking fanservice and going full conservative prude.
Now from what I've seen this has gotten significantly better in Wano in the anime, probably because Oda himself purposefully played down even his own horniness during Wano because of the focus on traditional Japanese aesthetics and dress. Idk if it will get bad again after Wano, but a lot has changed regarding the way the anime is animated and directed since the last time it was bad, so hopefully not. But this can be a significant barrier to the anime for some people. If that's the case, then I definitely recommend the manga. It's the original, and in comparison it is practically chaste. It's not prevalent throughout the entire anime, it's mostly bad for the stretch from Fishman Island to the end of WCI, which consists of 3 big arcs and 2 smaller in-between arcs, but improves significantly in Wano, and isn't too bad in arcs before Fishman Island. Still more egregious than the manga, but not to the same degree. So it's possible you can tolerate it for that stretch since there are still lots of good moments in the anime in these arcs too. Though I'll note that there's quite a bit of censorship in the anime compared to the manga, Zeff eating his own leg for example, while included in the live action, was not included in the anime. Instead he lost it when it got caught in some ship debris while he was rescuing Sanji from drowning. Stuff like gore and blood are also tones down a lot. The live action honestly isn't any more gory than the manga is, even at the beginning. There's even less blood in the live action, the wound Zoro got from Mihawk was nastayyyy in the manga. Bro nearly got bisected fr.
Though I will say that I think one thing that helps make the more sexualized aspects of the series feel more balanced and a lot less center stage is that Luffy himself, the main character, is completely and totally 1000% gender blind. He's not blind to stuff like masculinity or femininity, but he's blind to whether masculinity or femininity is something that is only applicable to men or women. He likes plenty of manly things, there's a gag about him not wanting frills on his shirt because he doesn't think they're manly and he doesn't like that, but he doesn't think that it makes a man less of a man if he wears a frilly shirt, and he's not opposed to wearing other clothes that might be more feminine coded like his fuckin cute li'l dress thing in Egghead, or the literal dress he wears proudly for all of 3 seconds in Film Gold lmao. There are plenty of men in the series who wear frilly shirts. There are also men who wear makeup, wear pink, crossdress, etc. Luffy could not give less of a shit what men, or women, wear. He does not discriminate between women and men in how he treats them in any way shape or form, his awareness of gender expression is limited entirely in how he personally expresses *his* idea of *his* gender. If a woman pisses him off he'll beat them up just as easily as he will a dude. If a trans man says they identify as a man, he'll refer to them as a man, even if they have a more feminine appearance, and vice versa. He does not blink an eye at non-binary/genderfluid/queer characters, etc. That's one of my favourite things about his character, in part because I'm aroace and identify with him and his gender blindness a lot (among other things, he is an aroace icon for a reason lmao), but also because it's nice to have a 100% gender blind character as the main pov throughout the series.
Then there's the final factor, which is
4) How much time are you willing to spend?
The anime is undoubtedly the longer time investment. Which can be good or bad depending on your view. I know when I caught up sometime after episode 505, I was devastated at not having any more episodes to watch. I started out thinking "this will take me forever and I probably won't finish it", then shifted to "damn those 100 episodes went by fast, but that's okay, I still have 400 episodes left" to "200 episodes already? Well I'm not even halfway yet, that's fine" to "300... Oh God I'm already more than halfway" to "400!? Where are they all going?? Why aren't there more?!?" to "well I HAVE to read the manga now because I can't stand to wait for the episodes to come out weekly" then I banged out the rest of the series in the manga in a few days like I was a drug addict trying to hide my stash from the police by snorting it all at once. So to some, the length can be a blessing rather than a curse lmao. But if you are worried about length, the manga is a lot easier to go through without taking months and months to catch up, unless you take your time reading it. There is a fan edited version of the anime called One Pace, which takes out all the filler and adjusts the pacing to be closer to the manga, which might also be an option if you want to watch the anime but still want a less exhaustive itinerary to watch. They. Might even edit out a bunch of the excess sexual shots and editing in the anime though I haven't watched it myself to determine that. The main issue is that One Pace hasn't completed every single arc, but it is an option for watching the arcs it does have. I know Dressrosa is one of the longest arcs and might benefit from some trimming. I also recommend, if you choose the anime, to watch episodes in batches rather than weekly. While the pacing of the manga is quite a bit faster, so it lends itself to weekly updates better, the anime does suffer from being watched weekly. I've always binged arcs all together and I find that improves the experience a lot.
Aside from that, you can also always just read the manga then only look up and watch particular scenes you wanna see in the anime to get the experience with the voice acting and music and animation, without having to invest as much extra time into it. I may not be a dedicated anime hater, but I do agree that the manga is undoubtedly superior to it as a whole, so while I don't think there's anything wrong with being anime only, if you are open to both, but only want to choose one to consume, it's the manga all the way. You only have to start at chapter 1 and go from there. Or episode 1 for the anime.
I hope this helped, and wasn't too confusing or overwhelming. I know how daunting the series can be to get into so I wanted to try and be comprehensive and objective, and provide some approachable options for people new to the series by explaining some pros and cons of each approach.

Here’s a custom Q for you if you don’t mind! When you’re writing for your One Piece OC, do you tend to picture them most as Live Action, Anime, or Manga? Or perhaps a combination of the bunch?
+
If you tend to write/create them more geared towards one of the mediums, what might their adapted-to-another-medium alternate set look like?
Hi, thanks so much for your question! It seems I can answer asks normally on desktop, and I was thinking about this exact thing just now while working on my masterlist redux, so here we go:
It actually really depends on the OC! Both Luna and Inari were created when the Live Action wasn't even announced yet. They're also introduced in the story at a point that OPLA hasn't reached yet, so I never really thought a lot about how they would be presented in the Live Action when it came out. Cora and Lily were created specifically for the Live Action, so they don't even really have an anime-style counterpart. I haven't drawn one yet for either of them but I would love to some day. Aurelia, my newest darling, was originally supposed to be an anime girlie, but then I started imagining what part she might play in the live action, and now she exists in both worlds. Generally, when writing, I stick to the main canon of whichever media type I'm writing for, but I'll use the other version to fill in holes. For example, Cora's backstory is 100% based on late anime/manga events, and I wouldn't put it above myself to maybe sneak OPLA's earpiece den den mushi design into an anime/manga fic simply because it's cool and practical.
Anyways, when I picture my girls in my brain, here's what I see:
I view Luna as a sort of semi-realistic figure (because she wasn't a OP OC originally, it's a long story), somewhere between the anime's artstyle and, well, a normal human being. This is why it's incredibly hard for me to pick a potential faceclaim for her, because I have this set face in mind and nobody seems to really fit it perfectly. If I had to pick though, I'd probably go for either Joanna Vanderham, maybe Morfydd Clark, maybe potentially Samara Weaving. They all have details I don't 100% like and they would need to have way lighter hair, but they would work.
Inari I view as 100% anime style. It's hard for me to not see her as this cartoony anime girl with three huge blue eyes. But if I had to pick a faceclaim for her, my current pick would be Amanda Arcuri.
I'll skip over Cora and Lily here because I view them as their live action forms for obvious reasons, though Lily is still more cartoony in my brain simply because of her ears and tail. I definitely wanna draw both of them in anime/manga form one day!
Aurelia is a special case because she exists in both canons, but I see her as her live action variant most of the time. I don't 100% know why, maybe it's the leftover brainrot, maybe it's easier, but that's just how it works with me.
So, I hope this sorta answers your question! Thanks again for asking, and have a lovely day!

I’m in Love with the Villainess Reaction
Before we get into the next episode, I wanted to address some things thanks to some comments I read over the week. Last episode was important, perhaps the first thoughtful discussion about homosexuality in an anime that anyone seems to be aware of. It was also our first insight into Rae’s character and her peculiar actions.
Speaking of Rae’s actions, it seems to me that some people are blowing things out of proportion. Let me just say it, when it comes to Rae and Claire in the earlier parts of the series, neither is really innocent. Neither of them are particularly bad either, each knows where to draw the line and is capable of acknowledging when they’ve gone too far. Also, Claire initiated most of their interactions, by attempting to bully Rae into submitting or quitting school. As for the maid thing, I hope I don’t have to spell it out, but Rae has a greater purpose behind sticking close to Claire beyond her own selfish desires.
Episode 4
Kicking off with magic exposition. Exposition that Rae likely had to sit through (or skip) countless times over while playing Revolution.
Rae’s own exposition about monsters is much more entertaining. Take notes, Torrid Magic! (Yes, for some reason his last name is literally Magic. I suppose it’s like how Rae Taylor’s parents are tailors)
Once again, Rae overdoes it. Great line though. “I’m officially too OP to function!”
Oh, they actually showed his full name.
Can’t have an element based magic system without the whole strengths and weaknesses thing. Also, combo magic. Multi-casters also have special composite magic depending on the elements they have access to.
This is flirting, right?
Rae’s like eww, boys. Right there with ya, girl.
Rae is like “Noooo, not more exposition! Where’s the skip button? Skip! Skip!”
That first fantasy was meh, but that second one, heck yeah! That’s more like it. That, and it’s more faithful to Claire’s character.
Time for the first boss battle!
So yeah, Torrid might be a tri-caster, but his aptitude is not nearly as impressive compared to the main characters. Plus he lacks the wind attribute that beats water. He is hopelessly outmatched here.
What’d you expect. Numbers don’t matter when most of the students there are either too weak to do much damage, or too inexperienced to land an accurate hit. Should have just had Misha take it out with one strong attack.
Rae, you’re not bound to video game logic, you can just call out whichever name you want.
I don’t know what to say, so I’ll just let Rae speak for me.
Eww, it’s raining slime everywhere!
And as usual, Thane gets the short end. Eh, I doubt he’d want all that attention anyway.
Everyone’s favourite character has finally arrived.
And now, we all feel bad for Mama Slime! Great job, anime, neither the manga or novels made me feel this way.
Rae, don’t pretend. We know it bothers you, enough that you tried to run away from it.
Guess that event worked, it did raise the Affection level for who Rae called out to.
Claire had the perfect opportunity to get on the Thane route but chose the Rae route instead. We’re all proud of her.
That little giggle from Rae at the end was cute. I think this is genuinely the happiest she’s been.
Misha, you’re the second most powerful person in the whole school, and your attribute beats water! Why are you scared of a tiny slime?!
Claire, you could vaporise a slime that small! Why are you scared?!
Next episode is going to be a fun one!

I have been tagged by @figbian! Yippee!
three ships: generally speaking, ships are an incidental part of my fandom experience. So uh, let's do dark urge/astarion (lots of variations here), kataang (babies), and platonic stobin (sir those are my emotional support teenagers)
first ship: aleu (balto's daughter in the direct to VHS sequel to balto) / being a wild wolf instead of a sled dog. I love this movie for having the central relationship be father/daughter and specifically a daughter who took after her father in all the ways he didn't want to be in his younger years but where being part wolf made balto miserable, aleu revels in it and embraces it which drives conflict and ultimately balto needs to learn to let his daughter go. Not to spoil 2002 direct to VHS balto sequel balto 2 Wolf quest, but.
last song i listened to: the writing's on the wall by ok go
currently reading: The Witch's Well by trout-scout dot Tumblr, and The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter
currently watching: dunmeshi but very slowly and I just finished reading the manga. The characters do not sound like what I imagined.
relationship status: single and ready to stay single. In a long term friendship or QPR (whichever you prefer) with my beloved roommate
current obsessions: MIDST PODCAST GO WATCH OR LISTEN TO MIDST PODCAST ON YOUTUBE OR WHEREVER PODCASTS HAPPEN.
currently craving: the cured meat sticks in my desk drawer...
fave color: grey but specifically warm medium light grey oough actually all greys. Storm greys, green greys, charcoal greys
And... @vaelei, @tornadotorrie, @teddywesworl, @trout-scout, and uh whoever wants to I suppose.

Once you finish the episodes of stone ocean that are out do you think you're gonna read the manga or just stick to the anime?
ah so i actually was talking about this last night on discord lol
but im not gonna start the stone ocean anime yet, im gonna take a break from the anime and start reading the manga from the start and try to get ALL the way caught up with it
then when i rewatch p5 (god help me) with my little brother, if he wants to watch p6 while its not all the way out (if it still is by the time we get there, which it probably wont be all out yet) then ill watch it with them, so manga or anime whichever i get to first i get to first lol
but if i get through all the manga and still havent watched stocean animated then ill give it a watch

Now that we are getting a Maka figurine Im praying to the skies that maybe maybe someday hopefully soon we can get a soul eater reboot/remake that sticks to the manga's storyline
THIS!!! I can only hope and pray that Bones (or whichever studio picks it up) is able to replicate the charm that the original had. i would sell my soul (haha) for it to have an identical art style to the og with all of its gritty charm and goofy pauses and the fuckin recorder music lol... id love to see how all the characters would look after the time skip!!!

Hello..... it's me!
Oh how the tables have turned... after 8? 10? years I am back on Tumblr! For those who don't know me, my name is Tessa and as an artist I go by the name of Tamori. I'm a hobbyist manga artist from the Netherlands who works in ecology by day and does art (& plays the occasional video game) by night.
Other places where you may run into me or have run into me in my past decade on the internet are instagram, deviantart, twitter and paigeeworld. I've cycled through my fair share of usernames and went from icanreachthestars -> egao-ho -> tamori, the latter which I am still sticking to now. I've never quite been able to find that one place on the internet where uploading my art is just cozy and doesn't make me feel any kind of pressurde... so I'm very excited to see if Tumblr is going to be this place for me after all. My first time on Tumblr years ago was just mainly me reblogging silly pictures (y'know, as teens do), so it's about time I find out how the art side of things go here.
Artwise you can expect mostly OC art from me, but also with the occasional fanart of whichever manga, anime or game I am enjoying at that moment. I also draw both digitally and traditionally and have an ongoing webmanga that I will occasionally share stuff about. My works can range but fluffy, happy girls to angsty body horror (dw, I will use tags wisely) so expect just about anything from me haha.
With at all that said and introductions out of the way, I hope to grow this little blog into my cozy little space over the course of time! Thank you for stopping by! ~

002 - Norrayemma & OliZack
003 - Don, Gilda, and/or Matilda
@fullscoreshenanigans, this took some time, but here I am! Hope you like my lil essay 😊
NorRayEmma
002 | Send me a ship and I will tell you:
When I started shipping them: I don‘t know the exact date nor year, since I guess my preference for the OT3 ship developt over time. My first fanart of them being romantic partners was made in 2019, so I guess that‘s the year my heart was finally struck by them.
My thoughts: As much as I dig NorEmma, RayEmma or NorRay, only NorRayEmma feels truly perfect and in-canon for me, to say so. Over the course of the manga, it was shown so many times how these three truly belong to each other and which effects it had on two of them when one was missing – not to forget to mention the one who would be alone and with their best friend. So, I don't really want to see them seperated, and imagine them in other relationships is fine, but not my ultimate choice. If it‘s not🤍🧡🖤, I‘m not going, period.
What makes me happy about them: Their interactions. Their discussions. The huge amount of intelligence that is radiating from them whenever they are together. The fondness of their eyes when they see the other two happy and well. Their determination to do everything for their best friends sake, even if it means to give up themselves to guarantee there‘s a future for those they love. The possible tension between them. The concept of them being parts of the whole, only truly perfect when the other two parts are with them. The idea of an one year old child meeting two other babies and instantly deciding to stick with them, forever, from crib to coffin and maybe even beyond. Just, everything.
Should I continue or was that enough for now?
What makes me sad about them: The hardenships they had to face throughout their young lives and how it probably affected them even in their adulthood. For example, Norman‘s declining health due to the experiments in Lambda, that surely never truly go away, even with good medication. Ray‘s mental state is completly in ruins and I fear not all amount of therapy in the human world will ever make him feel not guilty for the things he decided to do for Emma and Norman‘s sake. Not to forget best girl Emma, who can‘t even remember the childhood she spent with her best friends due to the new promise. After all, new memories are wonderful and I‘m glad she found her way back to them. But still, there will always linger a bit of sadness in her, feelings of loss and regret, that will also affect Norman and Ray.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: Ray being constantly annoyed with Emma and Norman; listen, he‘s sarcastic and sometimes looses his temper, but overall, Ray always takes time to explain things that annoy him, without too much scolding. In some stories, I get the feeling he doesn‘t even like Emma and Norman, the way he acts, or he drank too much edgy juice™ this morning. Also Norman being all bashful around Emma. He‘s certainly not a casanova, but I like to imagine he cooled down over his crush for her and is just as happy as Emma herself to experience new feelings alongside her. That being said, I don‘t really see Emma being either too shy around either of them or drifting into turbo mode when she‘s in the mood. I like her as a complex, more differentiated character and not a child in a teenager's or adult body. She‘s not dumb and she‘s not over the top 24/7.
Things I look for in fanfic: The Trio having a frickin‘ good time, chilling and talking and doing silly stuff together, but also basic stuff like cooking or going on with their lives in the human world. I prefer fanfictions in which they are already young adults, maybe even with jobs, but school or university is fine, too. If the story is spiced up with some drama, whichever kind, I‘m happier than you could imagine.
My wishlist: Wheter it be Emma, Norman or Ray, they all should get a good therapist. Like, a really good one. They deserve it. Norman‘s health becoming better after countless treatments, and not to forget, Ray finding joy again in reading and learning (I bet he would love most fantasy books in the human world, and since the activity would not be affliciated with his survival, I bet he could „waste“ countless hours on this). For Emma, I wished her memories could come back, but I fear they are gone for good :(
And my personaly headcanon – them starting a big family on their own, giving back all the love that they experienced throughout their lives, and see a new generation of „cattle‘s children“ living free and without the horrors of their anchestors.
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: If the Trio‘s not possible, I would also accept either NorEmma, NorRay or RayEmma, hehe. These ships are almost as good. For Norman, I can‘t really think of another partner, sorry. If they both are older, I could totally see Emma with Oliver (as long as he even like girls), and for Ray, I‘ve got another favourite ship I just like as much as the common NER ones: Ray and Ayshe. Shirai and Demizu probably doesn‘t know what they did to me with that one side comic them discussing their parental figures. They also share the same „my face is too cool to show it fully“-act going on and the thought of Ray and Ayshe making Norman nervous, whenever he interacts with the two of them, is pure comedy gold to me.
My happily ever after for them: They live married in a big house near the countryside, have awesome jobs they love to go to and of course a bunch of children of their own or even adopted, to make their new life just as loud and chaotic and wonderful as life in Grace Field House was for them. Well, at least before everything went downhill real quick.
OliZack
When I started shipping them: Only around a year ago, to be honest. I saw several really adorable pictures with them and yeah, where captivated by childhood friends to lovers. Also their colour combination is just superb.
My thoughts: Why wasn't there more of them in the manga? What impact had the several journeys with Emma and co. on Oliver and Zack‘s relationship? They were always together since they were ten; suddenly, they were apart for months, not knowing what was going on with the other and if they would be safe or see each other again. That‘s the stuff that keeps me awake at night.
What makes me happy about them: They stayed alive throughout Goldy Pond and everything that followed after. It would have been so easy for them to die, for every reason, but no, we shippers were lucky and managed to see them going to the human world. And as I said before, their colour pallets are just wonderful – one pale and white haired in red, the other one darker pigmented in blue. Name a more iconic duo ❤️💙.
What makes me sad about them: Not really seeing much of their friendship in the manga. Did they even talk to each other once? Oliver and Zack defintly deserved more attention and content, even as side characters.
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: I… I have never read any OliverxZack fanfictions to this day, I guess. I could be wrong, though, but it‘s a rare sight. That‘s my complain – there‘s not enough of them.
Things I look for in fanfic: Their past in Goldy Pond, like them being children in a child-unfriendly environment and growing up to the persons they are today. Stuff about the two in the human world and their future would be cute as sugar, too.
My wishlist: To see and read and hear more about them . Asap!
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: You know what? Whe talked about my OT3 before, why not doubling the joy? How about Oliver, Zack and Paula ending as more as just friends? As mentioned before, Oliver and Emma could surely form a great team (again), and Zack with someone else… maybe some other GP residents? I have never thought about it, to be honest, but ifI should change my mind sooner or later, I will add it!
My happily ever after for them: They live together in the human world in a nice appartment; Oliver‘s a social worker for kids on the streets and Zack became a paramedic. Maybe they got some pets, maybe adopted kids, possibly ones Oliver knew due to his work. They managed to get over the loss of their father figure and friends and become old and grey and live happily ever after.
003 | Give me a character & I will tell you:
Don
How I feel about this character: Oh, sweet summer child (literally, since he was born in July). Don got such a big heart and a lot of passion; in contrast to Norman and Ray, who are mostly cool and calm characters, he‘s a nice change. I just love it when male characters can show their feelings more open, even if it‘s anger or grief. Don‘s development from „guy who is a bit confused but got the right spirit“ to someone who activly became part of the riskiest operations, baffled me as much as delighted me. Not to mention his glow up. Thank you, Demizu!
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Hmm, none, really! My headcanon is that he got a hard time in the human world wooing the ladies who have no interest in him (stupid, stupid decision, but it can‘t be helped). Maybe he finds his significant other one day, maybe he learns he‘s happy the way he is. Dunno.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Gilda and Don! Add Ayshe to the mix and I would read a whole series about their adventures. I also like to imagine Violet teaching him a lot of stuff to survive in the demon world on their journeys to Cuvitidala or the Seven Walls, including veeery creative swear words.
My unpopular opinion about this character: He‘s not as dumb as fandom sometimes depicts him. After all, he already knows where southeast is. No, seriously, Don has to be incredible smart, way smarter than he is usually depicted. He survived in Grace Field, of all farms, easily up until his tenth year of live and even beyond. As much as I like goofball-Don, we should never shove his intelligence aside and underestimate the boy.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Him punching Norman again. I mean, he deserved it as much as Ray did, possibly in the days after queen Legravalima was killed and they had to rush back to Grace Field. After all Norman was a huge dick to Don and Gilda, lied straight into their faces (again), used poor Hayato and the other Lambda guys as his own personal weapons and made Ayshe suffer (which Don befriended immiatly, as it seemed). Enough for a clap, I think. Additionally, I‘d love to see him grieving more about Conny‘s death. Sure, we had the bonus comics in which it was finally revealed how much he regretted not being to save his little sister, but… How did her death affected Don afterwards? Did he had a trauma through this sudden turn of certainity he had all his life? That‘s the stuff I truly wanted to see.
Favorite friendship for this character: Gilda and Ayshe, but I basically love to see him interactin with everyone. Don radiates a warm, friendly aura, that surely everyone is drawn too.
My crossover ship: I gonna be real with you: I have no crossover ships, that‘s why I won‘t fill this for the following characters. I never really could draw a line between The Promised Neverland and any other series, yet alone including any ships. Sorry!
Gilda
How I feel about this character: She is beauty she is grace, she will blow up the shelter if you don‘t bring back at least one of her siblings back an alive from Goldy Pond. Gilda‘s a powerhouse and way too good for all the stuff she had to went through. I wish I could love her as much as she would deserve it, but TPN got so many characters that gave me brain rot, she kinda falls behind.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Emma and Gilda as romantic shipping is nice, but I prefer their sisterly friendship. Besides that, I can‘t really think of another ship for her (Don‘s her bro and nothing more).
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: As stated before, her and Don‘s friendship. These two didn‘t shared any similarities at first glance, besides being the only ten year olds in the orphanage, but always sticked together. Their interactions during the whole story were adorable and a nice change from the Full Score Trio ones, since the two were sometimes left in the dark about certain topics and had to find out ugly truths on their own. That surely did strengthen their bond.
My unpopular opinion about this character: She did forgive Norman too easily after he lied about finding Mujika and Sonju „to protect them“. I‘ve got the feeling deep down, Gilda won‘t forgive someone as fast as maybe Don, and making snippy side comments to Norman about his wrong doings would have been hilarious. She managed to frighten Emma and Yuugo after them being reckless again, she could surely could have done this with Norman too.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Overall, just depicting more of Gilda, like showing her settling in in the human world or wearing a bunch of adorable outfits (the bonus chapter with Gilda, Anna and Emma was not enough!!).
Favorite friendship for this character: Don, because of all we‘ve seen throughout the manga, and Ayshe, for all the possibilities they could have.
Matilda
How I feel about this character: A Mother‘s Determination was really a wild ride. In around 40 pages I went from „uggh get her away from me“ to „I strongly want to protect her (as well as the other sisters)“. Matilda‘s backstory and character development was touching and I enjoyed learning more about the life in Grace Field. She left a greater impact on me than a side character probably should, but here we are, loving Matilda hours 24/7, again.
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Again, I can‘t say any. I know I‘m a terrible person for never providing any shipping ideas here, but at this point, I can‘t really see her with anybody.
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: The „friendsip“ with Sienna, Jessica and Scarlet as well as her relationship with Isabella. I don‘t know if you can call this friendship, depending on their social status in the headquarters, but I like to imagine they grew fond of each other over time.
My unpopular opinion about this character: That‘s probably not unpopular at all, but I headcanon that she‘s Norman‘s biological mother. Due to her ID and the resulting age, I had a hard time bringing Matilda‘s age in correlation with Norman‘s, but for me, I imagined she had the child when she was barely eightteen years old, so it adds up. For me, at least.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Oh, what would I give to witness more of her shenangians under Grandma Sarah and Isabella! The two years until the escapees came back were surely a very interesting time.
Favorite friendship for this character: Probably no real friendship, but I bet she went regulary to Isabella and wanted to hear stories about her child, their development and what kind of person they are. Matilda was the first one crying over her child being alive (and well?), and I‘ve got the feeling she still cared way more about them as she would probably admit.

so I have this theory. and the theory is: whenever you get deeply invested in a new media franchise, the things you encounter in the first year or two are the ones that feel real to you, with the rest of the things feeling like support or secondary features (unless you get very specifically attached to something, but that would be the exception, not the rule).
so what this would mean is that the characters from the first season or two of a TV show are the most meaningful to you - if you started the show right at the beginning. if you started during season four and binged everything before, then all the characters introduced through season five feel equally important. or if you started on season ten, but you only went back to watch the earlier seasons after the show ended, then it’s only the season ten characters you really love.
for books, this would mean the book that was the current release in the series whenever you started reading is the benchmark. for video games, it’s whichever ones you played up until you got bored the first time. for webcomics, it’s whatever installment the thing was up to when you first caught up.
for multimedia properties, this is trickier. it’s a lot less time bounded. because it’s like... these two movies and this TV show, six versions of the video game, trading cards, a handful of tie-in novels but not the manga, and a bunch of specifically branded merchandise. (yes, this is about pokemon.) and that’s what’s ‘real’ about it.
and this is not just characters (although I think that’s the biggest split, probably), it’s also stuff like. plot points, like backstory revealed and macguffins and problems you might encounter. worldbuilding, like rules of magic/tech and places and types of items that exist. thematic elements, like political stances and recurring motifs and structural specifics of the narrative. they fossilize a little during the formative period when you’re getting really into the work.
this is, I think, what drives the tension between fans of different eras of a franchise. it’s not strictly that, though, because some people start from the beginning or go for everything they can get their hands on, and other people stick to one specific type of thing or only recent things. and maybe sometimes going away for a bit and coming back can restart the process, but other times it doesn’t really work that way.
but anyway I think this is a big factor in people’s discussions of which characters are important, and why sometimes people’s perceptions don’t match up with each other. this is why I think Zack Addy is a central character, even though most people go ‘who?’ and I think Castiel is a minor side character. but also why I think of Nine and Ten as equally The Doctor, but the ones before and after are only sort of really The Doctor. and why I love Jonas Quinn. all the arguments about the real plots and backstories and explanations for things - it all depends on when and where and how you learned to like the story.

Chifuyu x Hybrid!Reader
Tumblr media
⚠️ Warnings⚠️ this story contains explicit description of sexual acts. Viewers discretion is advised. Minors dni
彡❣️Chifuyu and a Cat!Hybrid would be the cutest relationship ever. I do not care.
彡❣️Considering he owns a bet shop he knows exactly how to take care of a cat and because of all the manga he read as a kid, he knows how to love a woman.
彡❣️Don't think it works that way buddy but it's the thought that counts.
彡❣️He's the best owner and boyfriend ever. He grooms you, pets you, gets you all different types of desserts as rewards, cuddles all the time!
彡❣️Sure, at first he was a little awkward. He's never owned a hybrid before much less dated one, it was weird but he loved every minute of it.
彡❣️His favorite thing about you would probably be your tail. It's so soft, he can't help himself. He loves playing with your tail. Especially after a long day at the shop.
彡❣️ Oh! You're a great help at the shop too. It's like you have this intuition about animals, it just helps everything run smoothly.
彡❣️Your guys' domestic life is pretty calm and relaxing, it's peaceful.
彡❣️Except when it's not.
彡❣️Ever since you guys started dating you stopped taking heat suppressant pills. Your body had to get used to the sudden change, considering you just stopped completely. For a while your heat was irregular and random.
彡❣️Good thing you had Chifuyu to help you!
彡❣️It was a telltale sign that your heat was coming when you started to purr really loud, like extremely loud, or you get clingy and super emotional.
彡❣️You'd always want to sit on his lap, his cock resting right under you.
彡❣️You would have to wear something that smells like him, anything.
彡❣️Your eyes would be dilated, completely focused on him as you whine his name over and over.
彡❣️ Slowly grinding your hips against him as you cry his name begging for him to fuck you.
彡❣️ He would instantly give in, fucking you for hours until you were satisfied.
彡❣️ It wasn't always like this, the first time you had your heat was just seven months into your relationship.
彡❣️ You guys were out shopping for some new clothes when you randomly fell down to your knees. Your breath was broken, you would barely say a full sentence.
彡❣️ You remember feeling dizzy, drunken almost. Your head was spinning at a thousand miles per hour and there was nothing you could do about it.
彡❣️ Your body heated up in an instant, drool seeped out the corner of your mouth. Your ears and tail moved without your command.
彡❣️ "H-Hey?! What happened? Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
彡❣️ "Fuyu'..."
彡❣️ With one look at your face he knew, he carried you to the car and rushed back home.
彡❣️ He put you in your shared room, telling you to take as long as you needed to feel better.
彡❣️ You tried and tried. Your fingers weren't didn't reach where it needed, the pillow didn't feel good, nothing worked. You couldn't bring yourself to that orgasm you needed. All you could do was cry knowing you'll never be able to get rid of this itching feeling in your core.
彡❣️ Chifuyu heard you crying but refused to do anything about it. It's not like he didn't want to, but he wanted your first time to be special. Not when your judgement was clouded by your animalistic urge to mate, he wanted you to come to him mind free of influence and doubt.
彡❣️ But fuck, why are you moaning so loud. Why are you crying his name, you're making it harder for him to stick to his resolve.
彡❣️ "Fuyu' please, I cant— Need you, please Fuyu'."
彡❣️ Fuck it.
彡❣️ He came into your shared room, only to see your ears dropped down and tail in-between your legs as you desperately tried to finger yourself.
彡❣️ "Need you cock Fuyu'"
彡❣️Followed by a plethora of please and begs came after.
彡❣️ The throbbing pain in his cock tried to convince him to just fuck you right then and there, but he couldn't.
彡❣️ This wasn't the way he wanted to have his first time but he can still make it special and cater to your every need.
彡❣️ "Be a good kitten and spread your legs."
彡❣️ With glossy eyes from the tears you did so, you moved your tail and parted your thighs allowing him to look at your glistening sex.
彡❣️ "So pretty, can I touch you here?"
彡❣️ You nodded begging him to touch you, even going so far as to trying to grab his hand.
彡❣️ "Nu-huh, be patient okay?"
彡❣️ You nodded, you could feel yourself getting wetter from the anticipation of his touch.
彡❣️ He bent down, his knee pressed into the bed as his lips claimed your own.
彡❣️ While he distracted your mouth his own he took the time to explore the outer region of your cunt, a two fingers dragging down each lip. Till his fingers met your slick slit, his fingers dragged up your slit grazing your clit with his digits.
彡❣️ You arched your back into his touch. All you could think about was more, you wanted more of his mouth on yours. More of his fingers, everything.
彡❣️ He broke the kiss to focus on your dripping sex. You were dripping, honestly prep wasn't needed but he wanted to make you cum with just his fingers alone.
彡❣️ He pushed two of his digits inside of you, starting off slow while he kissed your thigh leaving bite marks on the plush skin.
彡❣️ "Fuyu~"
彡❣️ "I know kitten."
彡❣️ Kitten, he'd often call you it as a play on you being a hybrid. Never once did it sound so sexual till now.
彡❣️ His fingers curled inside you, hitting the spot that had you creaming on his fingers in an instant. Due to being in heat you were more sensitive than usual, even the smallest touch could have you squirting in an instant.
彡❣️ Despite you cumming once, he never stopped. He picked up the pace, his fingers moving after inside your sloppy cunt.
彡❣️ You were shamelessly grinding against his fingers moaning his name. Your tail was wrapped around your waist keeping it out of his way so he can continue the assault on your gummy velvet walls.
彡❣️ You cried for more as you felt another orgasm come near, he obliged. His fingers now moving at a ruthless place as they continuously hit that same spot over and over without mercy.
彡❣️ "Good girl, go on. Cum again for me."
彡❣️ And you did, your juices dripped down his fingers into his hand.
彡❣️ "Such a messy pet."
彡❣️ "M'sorry, more please.."
彡❣️ He put his fingers in his mouth tasting you, and he felt like he was on cloud nine from taste of you.
彡❣️ Pleads came form your mouth begging him to hurry up, you just couldn't take it anymore. You needed to feel him inside, more tears dripped from your eyes as you repeatedly begged him.
彡❣️ "Okay, Okay, I'm hurrying."
彡❣️ Stripping himself from all articles of clothing he stroked his cock just to solidify the hardness before he gave you what you asked for.
彡❣️ It was hours of him mercilessly pounding your tight cunt over and over.
彡❣️ His length reaching those places you couldn’t, his cock kissing your G-spot with every thrust as you mewled his name.
彡❣️ Plethora of praises left his mouth in a gruff tone through his pants.
彡❣️ They just went straight to your cunt, with every praise you would subconsciously squeeze around him. You’d earn a hiss from him every-time.
彡❣️ You can’t remember how many times you released your juices on his cock or how many times you begged him to keep fucking his cum into you.
彡❣️ Your head was spinning, eyes crossed, and tongue lulled out. You saw stars each time he’d slap his body against yours.
彡❣️ Kisses littered your body as he called you his “pretty kitty”. Promising to fill you up real nice.
彡❣️ He’d kiss and bite your tail or ear, whichever looked better at the moment which sent a jolt through your body.
彡❣️ He was attentive to your sensitive nub as well, rubbing circles that matched the pace of his thrusts.
彡❣️ He was close once again and you were too. The way your walls pulsated against him told him everything he needed to know.
彡❣️ Talking you through your nth orgasm.
彡❣️ “That’s it baby, you feel it coming don’t you? Fuck- Go ahead, cream my cock princess.”
彡❣️ “Your pussy is so greedy, you just came but it won’t stop sucking me in.”
彡❣️ “Fuck, fuck, fuck, gonna cum in this tight cunt again.”

Today in “little features I really appreciate about Ousama Ranking” I want to point out how the show (or manga? not sure where this originated but too wary about spoilers to go search out the manga to check) handles (pun fully intended) Domas’ sword wielding before and after he loses his hand. (I’ve basically grouped together clubs, swords, and short sticks for this and ignored stuff like spears and throwing knives)
Going to chuck this below a read more as I’ve included a load of screenshots to demonstrate stuff, but the tldr is that Domas changes how he holds two-handed swords after he loses his right hand so that rather than the ‘right above left’ that he (and everyone else) uses prior he instead ends up alternating to try and accommodate his new prosthetic.
Before: two-handed sword wielding, right hand above left, closer to where the blade would be on an actual sword.

This is the case for at least Domas, Bojji, Daida, and Hokuro in their instances of holding swords/training swords. This is pretty consistent in all episodes.
And looking up swordfighting more generally, it appears that the typical handling of two-handed swords is either to place the dominant hand higher up on the hilt or to place the right hand above the left in all cases (presumably the latter dates back to when left-handedness was more stigmatised?). The point is though, that left above right is not the typical wielding position.
(Fun fact btw: when checking back through episodes for instances of sword wielding I found out that Daida is actually left-handed as he writes with that hand in episode 5, *but* he wields two-handed swords right above left. Bosse-as-Daida wields clubs left-handed, but in his original body he wields clubs/axes right-handed; see ep 8 for multiple instances of this.)

Episode 12, Domas still tries to put right above left with his prosthetic at first.
The next instance we see him with a weapon in ep 15 though? He’s swapped over. Left hand above right...

Back to right over left...

And back again. He then keeps to left over right for the rest of the episode.

Given the sheer consistency previously and the number of close-up shots of Domas in ep 15 holding his sword the opposite way to almost everyone else* including himself prior to losing his right hand, I kind of have to think this is intentional. It’s not exactly commented on within the show itself but it would fit into a similar vein to how Kage makes sure to repeat for Bojji when people’s lips can’t be read. And if it is intentional then it’s a really nice and subtle way of showing how Domas is adjusting. Physically, that is. I don’t think he’s adjusting so well mentally/emotionally right now :V.
(Misc. notes: It seems that when weapons are just being held casually people just use whichever hand is convenient until they actually have to *use* the weapon. At this point they default to their dominant hand (if single-handed wield) or to ‘right above left’ if two-handed. Domas does use his left hand to parry Hokuro at the end of episode 5 but given he’s a few seconds from shoving his right hand onto a the blade of a sword I feel like that gets a pass.)
*There is one of the released criminals who goes left above right in ep 13
