Good day/evening to every system except the ones that participate in validity olympics. How a system experiences their plurality doesn't concern you.

Here’s some positivity for those with P-DID!
Unfortunately, P-DID (or partial dissociative identity disorder) is not often talked about or discussed online - many folks with P-DID may feel left out of spaces focused on systems and complex dissociative disorders. However, P-DID systems absolutely belong in the plural community (as long as they wish to be here), and provide a welcome and cherished perspective to the vast experiences of plural folks and those with dissociative disorders! To all those out there with P-DID, this one’s for you!
☀️ Shoutout to systems with P-DID with distinct alters or parts who don’t experience switches!
🧡 Shoutout to those with P-DID who don’t identify as plural or a system!
🌹 Shoutout to P-DID systems who have difficulties interacting and making connections with their alters!
✨ Shoutout to those with P-DID who struggle with dissociation and often feel disconnected from themselves, their bodies, and their surroundings!
🔸 Shoutout to P-DID systems with alters who mostly control the body through passive influence or being co-conscious!
❣️ Shoutout to those with P-DID who have to deal with trauma responses including, but not limited to, flashbacks, anxiety, nightmares, high stress levels, intrusive thoughts, or anything else!
💫 Shoutout to P-DID systems who identify as specutien or having a frontstuck host!
🏵 Shoutout to those who are in treatment for their P-DID, and to those who are functioning well on their own and don’t want to seek treatment!
🎈 Shoutout to those who are questioning whether or not they have P-DID or are taking the steps to get a diagnosis or self diagnose!
🌙 Shoutout to systems who wish P-DID was talked about more and better understood in system or CDD spaces!
✴️ Shoutout to P-DID systems who are grateful for their alters and their plurality, and to those who wish they could be singlets!
We hope that everyone with P-DID who sees this can have an amazing day today. Know that you belong in spaces for systems, trauma survivors, and those with complex dissociative disorders just the way you are. We appreciate and value your perspective, and are so honored to be able to share these spaces with you!
Please do your best to treat yourself and your system (if you identify as such) with kindness and compassion today. You are so loved, and we hope that your future is filled with peace, comfort, healing, and self-acceptance. Thank you so much for reading, and take care!

Shoutout to systems/plurals who have unusual experiences or beliefs about their system/plurality!
You think you were born plural? Hell yeah!
You have a mostly or entirely non-humanoid system? That’s so cool, friends!
You don’t feel like you spilt so much as individuals souls gathered in your body? That’s so valid!
You consciously made your system? Good for you!
Your system has lots of non-introjects with extensive backstory, trauma, and disorders that the body doesn’t have? I hope you’re all doing well!
You’re all introjects? Super dope!
You have a ton of inner world relationships? That’s adorable!
You have no inner world? That’s so interesting!
You have any other non-standard experience? You’re valid and I believe you!
Plurality is incredibly complex and I doubt we’ll ever fully understand it. As much as we try to put rules on the plural experience, minds and souls (if you believe in them) are not interested in complying. I think it’s important to remember that mental diagnoses aren’t biological truths, they’re portions of patterns we see repeated. No two experiences will be the same, and the experiences that fit into that pattern aren’t the only ones. Being plural isn’t a chemical process like ATP production. There aren’t chemical components and structures that facilitate it the same way every time. The way our brains work are as unique as our DNA and our environments. We will never succeed in labeling everything they do. What we can do is believe the people who don’t fit into a box.
I love you, you’re so incredibly valid!

Here's to proxy systems!
A proxy system is defined as "where one functions as a singlet (or approximately close to one[...]) due to a frontstuck host, yet members of the system are [...] distinct in headspace" [via Pluralpedia].
Shoutout to proxy systems who:
Are median
Have OSDD-1A or P-DID
Live life as a singlet most of the time, or only tell close loved ones about their system
Also identify as specutien
Didn't initially know they were a proxy system due to lack of information in plural spaces
Thought their system might've been something else at first, such as a kin system, or thought that they were just a singlet
Please know you are so important to us! You deserve as much place in the plural community as anyone else! Did you know how amazing you are? Well, now you do! It's going to be ok, and you'll get through anything you might be facing right now.
We love you!
🖤💜💙💚💛

we've made a discovery about ourselves recently and I just wanted to make a public post about it in case a fellow p-did system could find it useful. or even other systems!
tl;dr is in bold, but context of the whole post is also necessary
The thing with being a Partial DID system, is that there is, most likely, only one frontier and others are only able to take control of the body while the host is still fully conscious. at least that's the case for us. And training ourselves to be like other systems with distinct switching is a Long and Frustrating effort
we think a lot about the "influence on host" part of it all, and I think we came up with an alternative that works for us. 100% we're not the first and won't be the last to come up with this, but of anyone finds this Helpful it's worth talking about it
the long and short of it is: if you as a system struggle with letting others front, but find yourselves doing/saying some things in unison with no clear distinction of who takes "credit" for the action, this might be a good alternative to being fully in front.
we call this blending, speaking in unison, or speaking in legion! what happens to us is that, me and someone who fronts mix together on a conscious level (while still being two distinct alters, we're not blurring or fusing exactly). and just allow ourselves to do something at the exact same time without figuring out Who exactly thought of this first
it's kind of a very uneven mix. we can tell when someone's speaking separately too, so this Somehow doesn't make us doubt ourselves (so far). additionally it puts the weight off others shoulders when it comes to joining external conversations all on their own.
we think this might be a Very Good way of allowing others to take control and have a say in our collective life, and it might help other systems too

Hello, recently discovered we’re traumagenic with a headmate that has pseudomemories that he always has been here, I always did believe him and thought we are endo, but I have P-DID probably.
Could you explain about how does P-DID works, and systems that don’t have derealization dissociation, only other multiplicity related symptoms
/genq
I’m sending this ask again lol
Hello to you both! (we didnt get it the first time so thank you!) It took us a long time to figure out we have P-DID because it's barely talked about in dissociative disorder spaces, and unfortunately our success in finding professional help has been scattered. (Though it's going well currently!) So we hope we can help in this info!
Here's the link to the ICD-11 page on Partial DID. It starts you off on some information!
We're not a system without a dissociative disorder, but we can say that systemhood has to cause distress or impairment to qualify as disordered; to answer your second question, any system that doesn't meet those qualifications doesn't have a disorder relating to their plurality. Every system works differently, but the axis of distress or impairment is what denotes whether or not a system is considered disordered. For example, some traumagenic systems do not experience these things and therefore would not fall under a disordered status, and some endogenic systems may experience such things due to reasons like how their plurality interacts with other neurodivergencies or trauma induced after or unrelated to the system's formation.
As for how P-DID works, we realized that this is how we operated upon comparing the ICD-11 criteria & description to many different disordered systems talking on their experiences. The understanding came when we realized that the difference is not that others can't share front or communicate, as "partial" might seem to imply, but that the main fronter is incapable of completely leaving front to be replaced by another alter. For us, this manifests in the main fronter (the Prism Subsystem) being a median subsystem that is always stuck in front, despite how many times we split. To get a little personal about this, this is due to our trauma being specifically tied to being required at all times without respite, so regardless of how many parts of us we split, we're mentally unable to allow ourself to truly let go. We have many other alters & other headmates that're not part of the host subsystem, but even though they're able to use the body as well, it's impossible for the Prism's consciousness to completely disconnect from front via being "asleep" or going into headspace. If I were able to leave front, then the term DID would be more accurate, but because other members can only "partially" front, this is a distinct source of both distress and dysfunction that alters our disordered presentation to the point P-DID fits better. It's a shame the ICD-11 is not considered as often as the DSM-5.
Thank you for asking! Sorry this took a while to get to ^^

what is the difference between did, complex did, and highly complex did? where would a small system w a subsystem fall into that?
The differences are usually described as where they fall on the dissociation scale according to the Theory of Structural Dissociation (ToSD). Highly complex DID (HC-DID) does not have any medical recognition as far as I know, I believe it’s mostly a community term to bring survivors of RAMCOA programming together (please correct me if this is wrong). Distinctions in system structure between DID and complex/polyfragmented DID (C-DID or P-DID or PF-DID) have been documented, but literature on complex DID hasn’t been updated since the 1980s if I remember correctly.
Within the community, distinctions are made as follows:
DID is defined as two or more alters and amnesia between parts. This is distinguished from OSDD-1a, which does not include distinct parts, and OSDD-1b, which does not include dissociative amnesia (dissociative amnesia in DID can manifest as gaps in important life events, lapses in memory of recent events or well-learned skills such as driving, and discovery of possessions the patient does not remember owning or purchasing).
C-DID is not so much determined by alter count (as people have claimed it is) than it is determined by the actual structure and features of the system. For example: C-DID is more likely to have a complex and expansive innerworld, complex splitting patterns (splitting multiple alters at once, splitting groups, splitting a few fully formed alters and a group of fragments, etc.), and subsystems (alters with alters). It has also been said that polyfragmentation is a phenomenon that starts with normalized, everyday abuse and trauma before the age of 5.

This is the P-DID flag we designed!
P-DID (Partial Dissociative Identity Disorder) is a type of dissociative disorder in which one has DID but additionally has one or more alters that are almost always front/have primary or at least dominant control of the body. For many systems, this “dominant” or primary alter may be able to relinquish some control of motor function and may be able to access the inner world if their system has one. (Though generally they will retain some control and awareness over the front.) In general, P-DID systems will display the distinct and separate alters, and amnesia barriers characteristic of DID. This being said, it is generally accepted for systems that have this kind of primary alter, but don’t fully meet the DID criteria to use the P-DID label. This requires that their experience is not better described by an OSDD type. (Despite P-DID being an official ICD diagnosis, it is rarely considered due to it not being included in the DSM. For this reason, the criteria is largely determined by the individual and the community.)
We posted it on instagram last august but wanted to post it here!
We decided to make this because the only flags we can find are either made by a non P-DID system, or have no available information.
The stripe meanings are:
1: the unique experience of being a P-DID system
2: the validity our diverse experiences (including diverse origins)
3: our connection to the greater plural community
4: headmates that aren't the main fronter and their experiences
5: the main fronter/frontstuck headmate(s) and their experiences
This flag can be used by anyone regardless of diagnosis, except those that are not supportive non-traumagenic systems origins. Trauma is not part of the diagnostic criteria for P-DID or DID, so we are not comfortable with those that exclude on that basis using this flag or any other flags/labels we may create
The P-DID literature in the ICD-11
It’s worth mentioning that most P-DID systems find the language in this description to be needlessly opinionated and focused on distress. Beyond that, the designation of partial is widely criticized as it isn’t accurately representative of the entire system’s experience. Static DID is sometimes used as an alternative.
