I once saw a post headcanon that the spn finale was all just deans heaven, not sams. It was what dean wanted for sam, we don't even know if it was what sam wanted anymore. It would explain why we never got a clear picture of the wife or even saw her again after the blurry scene of her, dean would have only cared about sam and any children that came from him. In reality, maybe sam lead a very different life after deans death, and maybe that really was him on the heaven bridge to meet dean, or maybe it was just a projection of him that deans heaven conjured up

I do like this better than canon’s frankly very superficial and romanticized ending bc right, sam having a perfect “apple-pie life” with a perfect american wife and a perfect american kid he named after his dead brother is very much Dean Winchester Fantasy that of course could have never come to pass while he was alive - dean needed to die for that to happen, but it just… it simply couldn’t have been as rose-tinted as that montage made it seem, after everything sam had been through by the time dean died. early s8 was the last time sam tried fighting for a way out of the hunter life and he got punished for it over and over again. late-seasons sam is all “I realized how wrong I was every time I Ran Away” and “this life is Right for me but I can’t do it without my brother” - he stays tethered to it for dean and dean alone. once dean is dead for good (ultimately of his own volition might I add - it’s not even a question whether sam will try bringing him back against his will bc that treatment is reserved for sam whose body belongs to dean as long as he’s alive) it suddenly becomes acceptable for sam to live for himself as opposed to for their Heroic Mission.

Ough thank you!! i at some point planned on writing parts of it but im a slow writer and my interests jumps between aus so quickly ;;

lemme give a quick little idea of what happens since i dont remember how much ive said or if ill do more art for it in the future,,,

basically Elias meets Jon and gains his trust by approaching him in an academic way. Jon is curious about humans, so despite all his warnings about them he humors Elias and they share information about their species. eventually Elias convinces Jon to return with him to london after telling Jon all about how amazing human cities are. he also convinces Jon to let Elias safeguard his coat (he acts like many humans will be interested in stealing it and only Elias will be able to protect it). Jon is simultaneously extremely interested in london and also completely overwhelmed by all the sounds and people. he lives with Elias and is pampered by him, taught to read (he learns he loves books), given clothes (which he hates), and treated to good food (hes mixed on this). Jon does start to fall for Elias and willingly starts a relationship with him but eventually he decides he misses the ocean and wants to go home but yeah ~surprise~ Elias was never going to give Jon his coat back. he had just hoped Jon would like living with Elias enough that he would choose to stay of his own free will. Elias forces Jon to marry him all while promising that he'll adjust to this life eventually.

Jon is obviously enraged by this and tries everything he can to escape at first. this part of the au is the least fleshed out but suffice to say Jon is rather miserable and depressed. he spends a lot of his time in their library and finds a book that talks about the ocean and has photographs in it which he looks at for comfort. Elias does bring him for a trip to see the ocean but its not where hes from and he doesnt allow Jon his coat to transform so its bittersweet.

(a good amount time passes between these two points and theres a good amount of up and down in their relationship. elias lovebombs jon a lot and tries to make him happy but is not willing to let go of his control over jon's life. jon kind of accepts that he wont be free and tries to make the best of his situation but hes still pretty homesick and depressed)

Elias gets frustrated that Jon can't just be happy with what he has (he had rather grandiose and unrealistic expectations for their marriage) and vents to Peter about it. He's more under the delusion that they're just having a marital spat and Jon will come around eventually but Peter tells him that selkies will never be tame and Jon will fight him till one of them dies. Elias wants to prove to Peter that Jon does love him so he brings him back to where he found him and gives him his coat back, sure that Jon will choose to stay with him buuuut. he runs

in the fic there was going to be a timeskip of about a year (maybe even ending there and then having a sequel) here where Jon eventually returns to where he met Elias and finds a package elias left him with their rings, some letters, and a couple of Jon's favorite books. he realizes that he misses his old life.. at least part of it. the sea is freedom but its also very lonely. he doesnt actually think he'll ever see Elias again but he comes back on the year anniversary of Jon leaving to reminisce and leave the rest of Jon's things as a symbol of moving on. I was going to have them work on things and have Jon come back to the relationship on his own terms with his own rules

is Elias actually changed in the end? honestly im not sure I didnt think that far. It definitely could go the way of being a cycle of abuse and i think he'd have to work quite hard to break his negative behavior. though tbf the Elias in this au isn't Jonah magnus (meaning he isn't a regency body-hopper not that he is OG Elias). this whole summary is only talking about the relationship A plot which was going to coincide with some Lovecraftian inspired occult mystery stuff : D (which isnt fleshed out at all other than i wanted those vibes)

To be honest, I also feel bad for Mrs. Schmidt, despite my initial thoughts towards her: I mean, she lost her youngest son to whom was probably a family friend at some point (the Schmidts being the Emily family theory) and falls into a depression, only to come out of it ever so slightly when she becomes pregnant with her third child.

And she hopes so desperately for her third child to be a boy, just so she could have another "Garrett" again. Just so she could have two little boys in her household again.

But when the baby turns out to be an "Abby," she falls into a deeper depression than before, and according to Mike in the novelization, barely left her bed. She then dies, leaving Mike on his own at just 18 to take care of Abby, it's just heartbreaking 💔 😢. There's no doubt that probably in-between Abby's birth and Mrs. Schmidt passing away, aunt Jane likely tried to gain custody even then (if you thought Jane was bad in the film, she's even worse in the movie novelization, showing no sympathy for her brother and sister-in-law who had lost their child and even calls Mrs. Schmidt a weak woman, or something along those lines.)

ough. um. well first of all there's LOTS of tasty hand symbolism and i go bananas for that. with saiou it's pretty explicit (i reach out, but he doesn't take my hand and the bandaging scene in the FTEs, he can't lie about the warmth of his hand in salmon mode, to a lesser extent shuuichi's accusatory finger point but ESPECIALLY in the fourth trial) for saimatsu it's a bit more subtle (kaede reaching out to pull shuuichi up when he falls out of the locker, shuuichi taking her hands over the desk to comfort her even though his own are shaking, a lingering shot of their hands desperately reaching out for eachother that they CUT from the execution and i will NEVER NOT BE MAD ABOUT-) and for oumatsu it's almost entirely in my head (them playing tag COUNTS, it DOES-). it's good food basically.

(small side tangent about that last bit - i want to focus mostly on them as a trio here, but i feel like i need to play a bit of defense for oumatsu because GOOD GOD are people nasty about it in a way they aren't about saiouma or saimatsu. no, kaede does not dislike kokichi - she calls him "hard to hate" more than once. no, kokichi is not "too mean" by pointing out her failings in the tunnel (and yes, he's allowed to be snappish when he's exhausted and injured!). kaede and kokichi are a wonderful duo who both give the other much needed pushback on the faults in their personal ideologies, and they do that while knowing when to stop and just goof off together. half the people who say their dynamic is irredeemably unhealthy are stealing that dynamic and plastering it onto kaito/kokichi because they hate ships with women in them. this has been Soapbox Time With Vesper).

i think the main reason i started shipping them - beyond all three of them just having fun/cute/silly dynamics with the other two sdhnjhsf - is that they are, to me, the core of v3. i've talked about it before (1 2) , but kaede's death is EVERYTHING to kokichi and shuuichi's parallel character arcs.

kokichi is bright, extroverted, and has a hand leading the group (challenging kaede in the tunnel, establishing the first breakfast meeting, leading the charge in convincing the others monokuma is dead even when he doesn't truly believe it) but he's never the same after kaede dies; he believes *any* kind of open cooperation will get him targeted by monokuma and killed. he resorts to manipulations on top of schemes on top of plans in a desperate attempt to never end up like her.

shuuichi is withdrawn, suspicious, and really only cooperates with one person (he suspects rantarou to the point of taking kaede aside and warning her not to ask him any more questions about his talent, he makes his own plot to catch the ringleader with no intentions of sharing it with the group) but once kaede passes on her wish he forces himself to socialize and to trust in a way he never would've before, and by ch4 *he's* basically the group's de-facto leader. if v3 had a movie poster kaede would be big and faded from the back and saiou would be back-to-back in the center with everyone else lining the corners. does that make any sense?? idk.

ough what else...i think the flaws/weaknesses in each pair are helped by their third member (kokichi has ZERO tolerance for shuuichi or anyone else putting kaede on a pedestal, shuuichi is a calming presence to balance out the oumatsu shenaniganery, kaede will simply knock the boys' heads together if they attempt Miscommunication™). i think they should all bond postgame (what if we didn't directly kill anybody but we still had blood on our hands...and then we held them!!). i think they should have one of those bunk beds with a twin on top and a queen on bottom, so saimatsu can spoon and kokichi can cackle manically from his nest of pokemon plushies. i think they should go on a boba date and shuuichi should have to pull out all his acting chops to pretend he doesn't hate the texture. i think that i love them a lot :]

it's like...the best way i can explain is it's like playing gta and stealing cars. obviously you wouldn't do it in real life, but bc it's a game and the game is fiction, you do it anyway. and sometimes you'd make a save point, try something silly, get killed, and then respawn again at your save point. but that's obviously NOT possible in real life.

he didn't even stop once to think that these people he's calling "friends" are probably going to get killed by the phantoms if they do escape OR the fact that when they're getting injured fighting these phantoms, that they're actually getting injured. or even the fact that he himself might get killed, or that idia might get killed.

I feel you, I haven't ride in years, after my horse died I just couldn't anymore, you know? I started a year later than you and did it all my highschool years but it was horse jumping.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I know how it feels. I found out the gelding I rode passed away five years after I stopped riding and it tore my heart apart. Never went to those stables again because the pain was too great and just locked that part away. But it gets easier when you come to terms with it, and realize that there are many critters out there that deserve that same love, no matter how much it hurts to move on. We're immortal in their eyes and we gotta do our best to shower all the animals in our lives with the love they deserve, while loving ourselves all the same <3

Okay time for a little angst headcanon

I was looking through the Pokemon Wikia at Hilbert’s page and uh

OKAY SO LIKE, ID NEED TO LOOK AT ALL THE PLASMA QUOTES TO FIND CONTEXT BUT UH, THIS IS SOMETHING I NEVER KNEW WAS A THING

I feel this could imply several things

-Hilbert and Hilda’s dad either knew someone in Plasma, or perhaps even, he was a part of them

-Their dad was apparently defeated by at least this grunt in particular, either just before the grunt was part of Plasma as old rivals, training within Plasma, and/or a confrontation their dad had on a journey

If its the last one, considering how Ghetsis threatened to kill Hilbert/Hilda if they lost to him, and how he nearly stabbed Nate/Rosa...I think if he lost, he might have gotten killed for trying to interfere with Plasma’s plans, which, can you IMAGINE the emotional material that could come with that?

Of course, this is just a headcanon, but I already had a headcanon that Hilbert and Hilda’s dad died young, just not a specific detail of how he perished. If he was killed by Plasma, and he wasn’t found for years, decades even, can you imagine the absolute *fear* that went through their mom when Hilbert went missing? For all she could have known, he could have been presumed dead like his father. In my headcanon Hilbert writes letters for his mom every few months to let her know he’s alive and out there somewhere BUT STILL I CAN IMAGINE HER BEING SO WORRIED ;-;

Not to mention the angst that could come if it was ever revealed Plasma killed him. LIKE this cult already messed with everyone enough, Hilbert was put into a position where he had to grow up too fast, had to become a hero and face dangers most adults shouldn’t even need to do, not to mention all the people hurt, especially N, who Hilbert would see as a brother. Can you just, imagine Hilbert finding out his dad was killed by this low life cult? How they’ve been impacting his life longer than he even realized? Just the pain of knowing Plasma hurt his family so deeply? Its just so painful to think about and I picture he’d be crushed and worried at the idea Plasma might have always been there, even if it wasn’t intentional

OR THE OTHER IDEA THAT HIS DAD PRETENDED TO GO ON A JOURNEY, AND FAKED HIS DEATH TO JOIN PLASMA JUST OUGH THAT WOULD BE SO PAINFUL

There probably wouldn’t be much confrontation between Hilbert and N because of this (Hilbert is pretty aware of how N was used by Plasma for so long and fed propaganda, so don’t worry it wouldn’t be a “WHY DID YOU LIE TO ME?!” moment) but just, the shared pain, Hilbert’s grief with N’s sympathy, cause he understands the hurt of finding out the truth of a father just OUGH

As it stands right now, I don’t think I’m gonna consider this my headcanon, cause I will admit its a little bit of a stretch, and I prefer the idea of Plasma not having a ton of connection to the protag’s family pre-game, but still the idea gives me the feels. I already feel pain with my headcanon that instead of running off, Hilbert and Hilda’s dad passed when they were very young, but this just adds to it

3.5 spoilers

bc of the fic i've been writing for awhile now i've become fairly familiar w the time between when Jay, Brian and Alex die. (about three months between each of them) and this morning this hit me in the context of 3.5.

Jay died in december, but Brian does not die until march. This means Jay potentially walked around the Ark for a bit before Brian finds him on the ground. Maybe he saw some of the others (Amy, Sarah, Seth, tunnel guy) during this time before Skully absorbs them. But either way by the 3 month mark he's given up and lays by the Mouth of the Ark. (my friend Cipher pointed out he's still Observing, it's all he has the energy to do now)

Brian continues on after finding Jay and goes through a lot of oppy teleporting and a period of time where he wants to give up. before he is once again spit on by the Mouth. Now Alex is here too. which means At Least Three Months have passed again. Brian has been trying to escape the Ark for three months atp. It's atp that Skully finally finds him. That's literally such a long time :(

Something else i realized is we have this little throwback to Tim saying that Brian is just a shell of a person now.

"Each time i escape from here, a part of me is left behind. But now i have nothing to leave."

"I'm a shell."

But Brian Does still have something in him. He has the burning Need to save others, to protect his friends...and the care he feels for Tim, his buddy. The fact that Tim escapes the fate of the Ark is the only thing that allows Brian to let go of his hatred/need for revenge. It's the only thing that makes him know all his efforts weren't for nothing, that there's Hope. Which means these two things, the love he feels for his friends, and the desire to protect and save others are so intrinsic to who he is the Ark can't strip these away from him. And he can't shed them to escape either. Even as a shell of a person these aspects of Brian remain and i just. OUGH. brian loved and cared so so much and if u don't remember that you've lost who he is completely

YIGA CLAN! what are they up to....what are they doing...

OH ough so haha funny story actually..!

they sure are Doing. theyre actually banned from certain places and by banned i mean met with ruthlessness and immediate . not violence but the places where theyre banned from Will resort to that its just theyll drive them away by firing warning shock to freeze shots, to actively shooting them and starting a fight. these places include zoras domain, rito village (though less hostile), gerudo town, and kakariko village (for more obvious reasons, uh. oh man this causes grade a Problems for cado. poor guy). thered be more but theres not a lot of villages left standing, and most hylian towns only know them as bandits and nothing more. the zora were Really headstrong with the yiga, sometimes actively hunting them in areas they were in, and during the calamity their anger surged MASSIVELY with miphas death but then . turned over? rolled over? mellowed out later on. hey like a wave tide. but anyways yeah they dont hunt them anymore thankfully. the rito dont either and are honestly the better of the places to get caught by. they arent that angry but they do ban them and escort them out through whatever means they have to. most yiga only really go to hebra rather than rito village so its mostly chill. teba is a little more forceful to the yiga though- revali was known to be extremely pissed at them, enough to find and raid their hideout and wouldve done it alone were it not for urbosa. however teba doesnt want them all dead. revali doesnt either really but he absolutely uses them at target practice he doesnt like them. and kakariko village!! they dont hunt yiga really. theyre close knit and dont really Leave so they mostly just observe the travelers who pass by. yiga can station near kakariko to get to link however inside the village is immediate fury. some shekiah Wouldnt be lenient towards them. at all. theyd likely escort them out or question them, letting impa do some of the work. luckily none have been killed when caught but they absolutely sustained injuries. gerudo town is surprisingly less angry? than the others? like yeah theyll point their weapons towards you once they know youre a yiga but theyll warn you to get out or get bularia. theyre more of a nuisance rather than a true threat (besides the thunder helm). but urbosa surprisingly didnt send anyone after them though she did task them with finding the hideout. no this was personal to her and she had to be physically restrained from committing an actual war crime. goron city isnt chill with them but they arent really banned? per say? they mostly dont know about the yiga daruk didnt have the others hunt them down and was pretty quiet about it. like urbosa it was more personal to him which meant He had to deal with it, as it wasnt his comrades problem. also as death mountain became active again the yiga decided it really wasnt worth it to go there. theres easier places to get em

so whatre they doing!! theyre still robbing places for valuables and such and still going after the thunder helm and gerudo things like bowls and such. but they actually lay fairly low compared to canon. they dont destroy stables or kill people like in gboh (i dont know. if seldon died to the yiga actually, or even if the stables are Their fault but just to clarify yeag they dont do that. also SELDON D: ). they only go after link but uhm. theres actually some controversy about it? some are against it because of “more work” while others are for it to “finish what we started.” kohgas confused about the entire thing and while he knows how wreath survived he honestly doesnt know what to do. some yiga are actively mad at the clan because it now feels pointless or like theyd have to kill the hero Every Time. the monarchy isnt even action guys why bother . some are more vocal about it than others too, while others hide their disdain to be more accepted. others are actively joining the clan for purpose and to not be slaves to a day by day lifestyle, only to be slave to a day by day lifestyle because nothing is safe from that </3. others genuinely want to kill link, some hate him but question why theyre even. killing him at this point. so the clan isnt in shambles but its going through one hell of a time. absolutely No One knows what to do. it was actually more in shambles pre cal for a bit. it regained hope after calamity ganon rose but people are doubting it again now, especially because its been 100 years. but otherwise some are trying to kill link and rob people. mostly same as canon in that regard. maybe sprinkle in sheikah tech research or more actual. Studies about it. something something theyve clung to their roots far more than the actual sheikah.

also note about cado. uh. he’d be in absolute Hot Water if he was found out. hed be forgiven if they knew he was being threatened, but thered still be doubts about him and people would fear him really badly.

Everything. when zeldas free. uh things actually get back on track because i do want her to try and reinstate the monarchy. and while some things are good ideas (rebuilding towns and getting more houses/making areas generally safer) some are Not (REINSTATING THE MONARCHY AND A RULER CHOSEN BY DIVINE BLOOD.) focus changes from killing link to killing zelda; the ones who doubted killing link would fix or do anything moved on to killing zelda, while the other half worked on killing link. zelda has sheikah tech knowledge however, while not enough to rival the yiga she actually has some from when the monarchy exiled and hunted the sheikah, burying it but also taking a glance at it to make sure at the very least, it was Theirs rather than the sheikahs. most of her knowledge comes from studying the tech herself though, but terms and slang forgotten come from the previously stated monarchy things. so basically their knowledge collides and zelda would put up a fight against them. she can exploit their own tech theyd despise her for that. she also knows how to fight thanks to cado and. sometimes link. he doesnt train her a lot but he helps her with strength shrines and also helps correct her when need be to make sure she doesnt pull a muscle. thered be fights over whos easier to kill vs who Has to be killed.

she wouldnt manage to reinstate it and while they still go after her after that shes mostly safe while living in kakariko. i think ganon the guy would . Happen. after the reinstating the monarchy attempt however thats for later me to decide. basically its complicated. kohga respects however also fears and detests zelda. i dont think he hates her but he sees her as a bit of a threat. hes still silly though he isnt like a dark brooding “so the princess awakens…… mwuhahahahahaahaha………. once the blood moon rises Kill Her…. or else i will break your bones……….” or something hes just. “HOW IS THE PRINCESS STILL HERE????? Axe was born to a very loving mother and an abusive father. He had a little brother named Cyrus. His father always hated Cyrus for being a boy.

Things were okay for awhile, his dad would get drunk and yell at them and verbally abuse them, but nothing worse than that.

Then, Axe's mother died of breast cancer. (This is when Axe started hating his chest) .

After her death, Axe's father could not handle Cyrus. He started to physically abuse him, and every night, Cyrus would crawl onto bed with Axe, and Axe would hold him while he cried.

When Axe hit puberty, his father began making suggestive comments to him and eventually sexually assaulted him. After that, he cut his hair and decided that he would never be a girl or do anything feminine again. (He still would be been trams without the trauma, but this kick started it)

One day, Axe got home from school and he found Cyrus dead from his father's abuse and his father passed out drunk on the couch

I won't go into detail, but basically Axe revenge kills his father and runs away to join the Newsies

You'd heard bad tell about this hotel. Disappearances were rampant here, apparently. Enter and never return. Like some...twisted copy of the Bermuda Triangle. But you were so tired, and there was not a single other building in sight. Consider yourself lucky, you supposed. Be grateful that it's here at all. It was a roof over your head, and you'd only be staying a night.

You enter the lobby, and it's quiet. Silent, even. There's no receptionist, nor any other guests milling about. Just you and the musty air, and the wind outside that rattled the windows. Instantly you felt a seed of regret plant itself into your stomach. But outside it was cold, and outside it was cruel. A hotel couldn't be much worse, even if it gave you an overwhelming sense of impending doom.

You decided to go behind the desk and steal one of the many keys to a room. Number 73, your old lucky number. Or was it... No, it was someone else's. He'd disappeared long ago, and his face was just a burning memory in your head. One that had smoldered and turned to ash. You could hardly even remember his voice. But you knew he smelled often of smoke, and cheap cologne and liquor. Wasn't he a friend of yours once? Who knew. You sure didn't.

There was nothing to bring into the elevator; just yourself and the key you held in your palm. The doors shut with a creaking and strained groan, and instead of rising to the hospitable rooms, it felt like you were going down. Down, wherever that lead. For a brief moment, the lights flickered, and the elevator stopped, before stuttering down it's journey again. Your fingers curled tightly around the key, until your knuckles were white. Further and further down you went, until the elevator stopped entirely.

Slowly the doors opened, and you were greeted to just a room. Just a room. Nothing important about that. It was a hotel; it'd have rooms. But it felt like eyes were on you now, and the air was noticeably different. It was heavy, and there was a smell worse than damp wood. Something about it made you not want to find out what it was. Something about it made you want to get out now. It scared you. There was something watching you from the darkness of the corners. You just felt it.

Luckily the doors you passed through had numbers. 9, 11, 13...so on and so forth. Just endless repeating of opening doors and going through rooms. Until door 14. The lights instantly flickered on and off upon your arrival, and there was the phantom of a rumbling beneath your feet. And for a moment you thought that you were just hearing things, until no. That was a sound that was getting louder. And the walls were definitely beginning to shake. The louder it got, the more the lights faltered, like they weren't sure if they wanted to remain on. It was like an earthquake beneath your feet as whatever it was, was speeding towards your room.

Without thinking, you threw yourself into a closet not too far from yourself. You could only hope, and pray that it would keep you safe from whatever was coming. The noise brought tears to your eyes; it was so horribly loud and the walls were shaking so bad that you were scared that the closet you'd taken shelter in would fall.

There it was, whisking past seconds after you'd dove for cover. Despite its speed you could make out a good deal of it. Black as pitch, it seemed to carry with it the darkness. It's face looked almost like a skull, but cracked and perpetually smiling in a grim manner. Dark hands scrabbled along the wood floor and carried it forward. And it was enormous, that much you could tell from the crack between the closet doors. But as fast as it came, it was gone again, it's roaring typhoon and tremorous gait disappearing as well.

You couldn't just get out. Why, why couldn't you just hide for the night? Or sleep in here, where it felt safe? The moment you began to sink down, your vision clouded with red, and you heard whispers. It looked almost like you were seeing writing, but that just — there was no way that was happening. That thing wasn't real, what you were seeing wasn't real. You were just tired and scared, was all.

You weren't pushed out of the closet, you just fell out. Maybe you should sleep. You really should. There were no bedrooms to speak of that you'd seen so far, so...the floor it was. Really. You'd just shut your eyes and hoped nothing would come your way again. You just...needed a night's rest, was all.

It was a while before anything came by for you. The entity was returning, its rush much slower, tracking nothing of importance. The great hulking form lumbered in the direction of the room you — for lack of a better term — effectively passed out on the floor in. There was no thought in its head as it approached your form. For all it knew, you were some corpse laying around. Thus, you were of minimal interest to it. Even if the floating entity by your head seemed to think otherwise. A young girl's "psst" muttered into your ear every few seconds or so, yet you didn't so much as stir.

Screech never lingered around corpses. Yet at the sight of Rush it hurried away, without even a peep. Even then, with such a looming figure right over your fragile human body, you didn't move an inch. Empty eyes considered your form — you were still breathing, your chest gently rising up and down. But when you weren't scared, you were as good as dead to it. You were of little interest to it. Even when it leaned its head down closer to your face you didn't react, nor when gales of hot and ragged breath stirred your hair.

You were lifted up within its two forelegs, tarry claws closed around you like a cage. It wanted you awake when it hunted you, and if you remained where you were then Ambush would get to you first. That creature would attack anything, alive or dead. So you were carried a few rooms over, into one where there was a bed (that was what people normally used, right?) And it was dark (it believed that was good for humans) although now that meant Screech would be a frequenter of your body until you were in the light again.

Just how long could you take one little thing's incessant demands for attention? How long until you'd wake up? Would you realize that you weren't safe, and that something was still out for you? Perhaps not the Figure, which would mangle you and strip you of your humanity, but instead something that craved the rush, the thrill of the hunt. Fear was always the most damning tantalizer, so seductively sweet and erotically exciting. And it wanted you scared right as you woke up; for you to stumble and trip over your body that hadn't yet woken up, while it was instantly charged with adrenaline? Oh, now wouldn't that be something.

It lurked in the darkest corner of the room, its size and figure cloaked by the shadows. Jaw slacked slightly, like it were loosely hinged, it waited like a skilled predator. You'd wake up eventually. And then it'd get its kill.

When you'd run you'd swear you'd hear a voice so distantly familiar that — in any other circumstance — you'd stop to think about. But no, you'd be fearing for your life, as something titanically larger than you would barrel down halls behind you, catching speed and aiming solely to catch you.

You'd swear it could be almost trying to say the name of someone.
