I've written my own summaries, centred around the nominated character and which of their traits the story explored.

Card Games, Vampires, and a Very Late Letter by TheSailingRabbit Kinch enters the service while hiding a chronic illness; much later, Hogan has finally thought up a way to help him (It's very UnOrthodox). Kinch & Hogan friendship 👍👍🥲

Kinch in Mama Bear by PicassoPenguin 4+1 story of the times Kinch took care of the other bears. what's not to love? Kinch uses his skills in observation and subtlety to watch out for the crew in both direct and indirect ways.

Carter in A Brother's Bond by PicassoPenguin After the war, Little Deer misses his brothers from Barracks 14. He tells Brown Rabbit about them, how much he admires them, and about the first days when he joined the heroes ( !!! )

Carter in Exit, Pursued By A Bear by pronker Carter has questions. The extent to which the gang humors or suffers him is a delicate balance. I think the author captured his voice well :)

Hogan in Decoration Day by Abracadebra Hogan mourns, then honors, the men that have died under his command. He has to lie to Klink to do so, but that's only natural.

Hogan in Sergeant 'Don't You Sass Me, Hogan' Wilson by whatisthismandoinghere Doctors may make the worst patients, but Colonels come in at a close second.

LeBeau Hogan in Well and Truly Got by Cardinal Rose - (Hogan story, i think this was mislabelled in the poll) Hogan's luck runs out. He tries anyway, but the consequences are unavoidable.

Klink in Klink's Brother by Sam Worth Klink talks a little about his family, both real and imagined. Well captured voice and mannerisms

Klink in Yoga Session by Deepbluethinking Klink discovers that kowtowing to Burkhalter leads to kowtowing in a more literal way, to the dismay of his hamstrings.

Klink in Ashes by LightShiner14 Atypically, Klink goes to church. Childhood memories rise unbidden; and Klink reflects on the irony of attending church in the bloodied present day. There's also a question pressing at him: what does he find within himself? Does he dare examine it?

LeBeau in Operation Mother Hen by Tuttle4077 Lebeau is sick. He's miserable, prideful, and Not Happy with the fuss everyone is making - to the point of driving everyone crazy: until they recruit the best nurse (very cute)

LeBeau in Spring Flowers by Tuttle4077 a poetically evocative piece on how Lebeau witnesses the changes to his beloved Rhineland. For better, for worse, for better, for worse. for better? (the imagery is vivid, and Lebeau's love really shines through)

Uneasy Company by dust on the wind Stuck between a rock, a hard place, a Hochstetter, and more troubles on the way, Newkirk is stranded without any backup. We get to see how he thinks and performs under pressure when the crew isn't there. When he needs to use his lockpicking skills, how can he explain them to the paranoid Hochstetter?

Drop Bears by dust on the wind Newkirk makes a bet with an Australian POW, and ends up taking a different gamble and performing some last-minute acrobatics.

A Deserved Gift by Cardinal Rose Newkirk dreams up the perfect plot for springtime. Most of the crew beg off taking part, because its an unnecessary risk, but regardless the victory is sweet and enjoyed by all. (in wartime, even Petty Revenge requires Pro Revenge tactics)

Cracking the Vault by Sierra Sutherwind Reminded of his younger days, Newkirk gives himself an inconveniently timed challenge - much to the dismay of Hogan and Schultz. They support him, but tbh they had their hands tied, what else could they do? (bonus: Schultz and the OCs in this fic go through some interesting developments, but they arent the focus in this category)

Once Is Enough by Abracadebra Newkirk is recruited as the reluctant accomplice in Marya's latest wild scheme. He shows off his skills at bluffing, snarking, and griping >:) i like how the more stressed he gets the funnier he gets haha

Autumn Winds by Fear-Of-The-Cold Newkirk's attitude toward human connection over the years, as it is influenced by his family and the world. we get to see a pre-Heroes POW Newkirk

The Assassin by lonewolfette9846 Newkirk is given the most important job in the war. And he has to do it alone. He does his best to keep his cover, and in the little time he has strategises his next moves. A very tense story - and that tension takes its toll on Newkirk. I like how methodical and tactical Newkirk comes across in this, despite the mission not being remotely in his experience.

Gregor is just about always shown as happy and I think he is for the most part, but I've got a disability and he does too and it(mine) gets me down sometimes. Can I get reverse comfort for gregor on a bad day? I want him to know he doesn't have to feel happy all the time please

I was going to post part of this for WIP Wednesday, but I kept writing! As a Gregor lover, I love writing him so thanks for the request.

I did my best with Gregor's TBI and PBA. If anyone has feedback on this, please let me know. I know this is slightly different from how canon interprets him, but you're right! He's human and can't always be cheery.

Gregor met you just outside the restaurant. People might think it was a hole in the wall, but you both thought it had some of the best food on Corsuscant. You hugged him when you saw him, holding on for a few moments and feeling relieved he made it through another mission rescuing more of his brothers.

"Everything okay," you asked, looking up at him as he opened the door for you. He shrugged and giggled. You tried to ignore the stares from a couple just leaving the restaurant, but knew it got him down. You were seated in a booth and quickly ordered your usual.

"The mission was a success," he said, before crying. You moved to sit closer to him and put an arm around him. "I'm not even sad," he blurted out between sobs to somehow mixed with a chuckle. "I can't stop it."

You reached for his hand and gave it a squeeze, knowing he had no control over this.

"How do you really feel, Gregor?"

A few more sobs escaped before it stopped. "I feel happy the mission was successful. I did my part and no one was hurt. I'm a little tired. I'm glad to see you. It just seems all this is especially bad right now." He gestured to his face and expression. You knew what he meant.

The food arrived and he giggled at nothing. The waiter gave him a weird look and you looked directly at him with a firm, "That will be all for now, thanks."

Gregor rested his head against yours for a moment, feeling understood. As you both dug into dinner you added, "Always tell me how you feel, okay? I don't want to miss something."

"You never do," he said between bites. You both leaned on each other as you finished dinner and paid. A part of you wanted to yell at everyone who stared. Yell that he can't help it. That he's a wonderful person. That he's not attention-seeking. But you knew Gregor didn't want that kind of attention. You knew though, that some days were just tough and all you could do was be there for him.

As you headed out, you asked if he wanted to come back to your place. He could never resist that kind of invitation. When you arrived home, you both parked on the sofa. You sat and he took off his boots and gear before laying out and resting his head in your lap. Some more giggles escaped, but he took some deep breaths, his brain starting to give him a reprieve for the evening. You ran your fingers through his hand and chatted for awhile. He loved spending time with you. He once described your home as a haven from hardship.

"Can we watch a holo," he asked. You nodded and found something about two tookas going on an adventure. "Perfect," he said with a grin. You smiled to yourself and kept gently running your hands through his hair.

Well, here we go. I will be answering this seriously despite the, ahem, last part of it.

Humor:

Gregor has a good sense of humor. He doesn't take himself too terribly seriously. I love seeing him in the TBB and how he's like boo hoo I was shot I'll be fine. I think he's also a bit of a troublemaker with those he knows well. I think he likes a good joke including practical jokes, as long as it's in good fun. I also think Captain Traitor probably has a ton of good comebacks.

Character and Core Motives:

I'm kind of combining these since I'm not sure where one ends and the other begins.

Gregor is a good person. I don't mean that as a throwaway comment. At his core, he is good and kind. Seeing as Gregor sticks with Wolffe and Rex by the time we get to Rebels, there's no doubt he's loyal to his brothers. We know he's fighting for them in TBB, and he's so capable. God, he's so fucking capable, strong, smart, quick, and awesome. I'm sure he also has moments of insecurity and fear, like anyone else, but he doesn't let those overwhelm him.

After getting blown up and surviving during TCW, I think his traumatic brain injury (TBI) really impacts him in ways we don't always see in the shows, but I do like that it is depicted in some way on TBB. I highly recommend people read this post about it by @fox-trot because people need to realize why he's giggling and that he's not just "jolly" as I've seen some people describe him (and not in a nice way). It's a side effect of his TBI.

I really like the scene where he's drinking whatever drink in TBB S2E14 after they rescue Howzer and "the others" (what are their names?! I need to know). He's just kind of sitting and enjoying the moment. He doesn't look stressed. The rescue was a success and there's a sense of calm with him. Not that there isn't serious trauma that these clones are going through and everything is now super peachy, but it's like Gregor can take a moment to relax after getting through this part and regroup before whatever the next mission is. This is how I read him in that scene anyway.

I feel myself starting to ramble, so, core motive? Doing his best to do what is right.

Deepest Dreams:

He would probably say to save as many brothers as possible and overthrow the Empire. I also think that while the clones are raised and trained to be soldiers, Gregor would love to have a partner. I don't know that the clones can actually have biological children (Cut's children are adopted and I can't think of another example), but I think he'd be great with kids. Gregor wants what most of us want at the end of the day: happiness, love, and peace.

Penis:

I was going to skip this, but you took the time to write it, although in jest, so I might as well answer. I imagine his penis looks like just about any other penis. He might have a piercing or something fun going on, but ultimately, what matters is what you do with it.

I have a habit of doing mindless work when stressed to take my mind off things

Was knitting at first but then I finished a scarf and HK is too hot for more of that and then I got a small pack of tiny origami paper(5x5 cm) and started absently folding paper cranes

Been a few weeks, I now have about 20 folded on a stack on my table and when PBA came out ig that leaked into this

I’m also crocheting a shawl now so there’s that too

And yes, I do indeed have a rock collection

Surely you’d think if he truly was this creeper horrible dude they all make him out to be that he wouldn’t still have the same friends he’s had for so so sooo many years and he wouldn’t have such endorsement from YouTube and everything

Sure yea people can sometimes be really good at hiding dark things from their friends even friends of years and years but idk I just I don’t see that happening here

And I just think if he really was this bad evil creeper of a dude everyone says he is then the brands would’ve dropped him ages ago they probably would’ve dropped him if they even thought it tbh but clearly they don’t so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Like yea Dream isn’t perfect but I truly don’t think he’s the dude so many people make him out to be maybe someday this will come to bite me in the butt maybe someday I’ll regret it but that’s alright it’s whatever

(This all coming as former skydoesminecraft fan btw literally my first ever published fanfic was a multi chapter fic about me being his sister and marrying one of his friends/editors)

i’m hesitant to say that those things make him for sure not a creep— because there are successful creeps, there are creeps with friends— but i do think they make it much less likely. (<- not saying that’s what you’re claiming btw!) after all, one of the biggest things about the skydoesminecraft situation was their friends saying “no, this isn’t okay” and actually Doing something about it, and we never saw anything like that happen with the october debacle (INCLUDING with tommy and quackity, who were both explicitly shown or stated to be at least okay with dream after that point lmao). and youtube is clearly as obsessed with him as ever which you’d think would be horrible optics

and i agree! he’s definitely not a perfect person but i have a hard time believing he’s the horrible monster people say he is, especially with the visible growth and change he’s achieved over the past few years. and i think i’ve said this before, but if this all bites us in the ass someday and he’s revealed to have kids in his basement or something, i’ll let the wolves have him but i don’t think i’d regret everything i defended him from until that point— because all that stuff WAS unfair, unsubstantiated, misconstrued, etc
