Light in the Hallway

Summary - Everything is finally peaceful in Autumn. Eris is High Lord, y/n is his High Lady, and peace has settled across the Court just in time for the arrival of Eris's firstborn.

A/n - I wanted to post this because it's so wholesome. I have one more solstice special, and two more maternity celebration posts after this, but this kind of fulfilled needs today.

Merry Christmas, lovelies.

You couldn't stop watching him from the doorway. Eris had cried when your son, his heir, was finally here and screaming as he took in air for the first time.

He was currently standing there shirtless with your babe in his cloth nappy and nothing else, holding him skin to skin and cooing him.

"You will never be alone, my kit," Eris whispered. "You will never wonder if we love you, if you are safe, if you are wanted. You will never question my devotion to you." He was swaying slightly, the smallest smile on his face as he looked down at his son.

His son.

The one he'd raise the way a father should. The one he'd teach to hunt, to train a hound once he was of age. The one he had been absolutely, undoubtedly, and unconditionally in love with since you told him.

"My love," you whispered softly. "He needs to sleep in his crib tonight. We promised each other we would not do this."

Eris turned to you, tears lining those amber eyes. “How did I contribute to something so perfect, so innocent?” You walked to him, head resting on his bicep.

Gods was the babe perfect, a tiny tuft of red curls, bright amber eyes full of wonder and joy. “Look at him,” he whispered. “My beautiful son.”

You kissed Eris's arm, “I suppose he could sleep in a bassinet tonight. Be close to us?”

Eris shook his head. You had not had an uninterrupted night since your son's birth a week ago, and the healer had suggested having the babe move to his own room, to hopefully lessen your anxiety and worry that kept you up watching every small breath and movement like a hawk, and to ensure the babe began a sense of independence in the cut throat court that was Autumn.

You had both hated the idea, crying as you discussed it. Wanting what was best for you as the mother, but what was best for your son as future heir. You had already broken so many of Autumn's expectations. Denying a wet nurse and choosing to feed him at your own breasts. Denying a live-in nanny, instead allowing you and Eris control and peace in his care. What was one more expectation? One more boundary?

“What if he thinks we've abandoned him?” You voiced the quiet fear. “What if-” Eris silenced you with a gentle look.

“Take him,” he handed you your son, completion instantly flowing through you as his little eyes lit up more and happy noises came. Eris motioned for you to follow him, shooting looks to the guards who passed silent judgment as you carried your babe back to your own chambers and out of his nursery. When you entered your room, the shift in your son was obvious, his little body relaxed, content small coos came from his mouth, his little eyes began to close softly.

Eris went into the separated bedroom, wheeling his bassinet out. He stopped it by the couch you used to feed him late at night and motioned for you to hand him his son. And how could you deny him? The image of the perfect father, the perfect partner, once again making a compromise.

He placed your babe in the bassinet, lowing the faelights to a soft, barely there glow, and took your hand.

“Small steps,” he comforted you. “Close enough he knows we're here, far enough I wouldn't find you sitting up in our bed rocking him when you should be sleeping.”

You kissed him, moving to your side of the bed, the one furthest from the door left slightly ajar. “And when the guards tell your father's old advisors?”

Eris looked at you, moving so he leaned over you with a completely serious face. “What is best for my wife, my mate, his mother, is best for my babe. Fuck the guards, fuck expectations, fuck my rotting father and his advisors. They will be gone soon enough. We both would not have slept a second with him that far away.” You felt his magic summon, and then a soft melody playing in the room your son was settling in. “Go to sleep, my fox. I will get up with him. If he needs food, I will wake you. Let me carry part of the load tonight.”

You nodded, kissing him. “The best daddy.”

He smiled down at you, those tears coming back to his eyes, “The best mommy,” he complimented you. “Go to sleep, my love.”

no ok so ive been seeing a lot of american ptx fans (love yall, stay safe) complaining about their outfits for the summer tour and being all "oh, ptx isnt wearing fancy clothes, oh, ptx doesn't love us as much"

MEANWHILE south american, european, asian and australian/kiwi fans having to wait a year / two years to have a concert for like two nights in their country or having to resign to watching concerts online, while the us gets at least one or two tours a year:

plus aren't some of y'all forgetting it's SUMMER? as in, it's HOT? pentatonix are traipsing all across the usa in the middle of august, and some of you are expecting them in FULL SUITS, DRESSES, AND HEELS?

me personally as an autistic person, bouncing up and down for a screaming, energetic crowd with strobe lights and loud music in peak summer in full fancy clothes, heels and a full face of makeup for multiple hours sounds like sensory hell for me

also the reason why they're wearing fancier clothes abroad is because in those weathers and in that season, it isn't uncomfortable to be wearing suits and dresses

last point but how can you be disappointed at THIS

1. Spending time with my favourite people. No matter if it's a quick cup of coffee, a long distance movie night where we watch ourselves through the filmography of our current favourite actor or whatever.

2. My old cat who I got last year, planned temporary, now permanently. She's almost 18, fit and likes to scream at the top of her lungs if I don't sit down on the sofa with her when she wants me to. I sometimes have the feeling that we don't always connect, like I don't understand her the way I understood other cats that have been in my life, but we get along quite well.

3. Music. Playlist is ever changing but will always include Avi Kaplan, McFly, The Amazing Devil and Pentatonix.

4. Riding my bike (especially in spring). There's nothing better on a chilly yet sunny spring morning than riding my bike to work. Gives me time to think and mentally prepare myself for the MADNESS.

5. Movies/series/books/theatre. Basically the opportunity to dream myself into a different world for a while.

A/N: bare with me on this!! i had this idea pop into my head after seeing Pentatonix in concert recently and thought it would be adorable. if you haven’t listened to them, do it. since this is a multi-fan page i thought i’d combine my two loves into a holiday short story!!! hope you guys enjoy this :)

The Concert Proposal

Pairing: Sebastian Stan x fem!Reader (ft. Pentatonix)

Summary: Reader and Sebastian attend a Pentatonix Christmas show but little does reader know, Sebastian coordinated with the band to propose during their performance of Amazing Grace.

Warnings: Petnames(?) Lots of fluff so have fun :)

As the lights came up and the music started, y/n began cheering loudly. It was her 6th year seeing them in concert and every year she had just as much if not more fun. This year, she brought her boyfriend Sebastian with her. Typically, he wouldn’t do this considering his fame but this year was going to be special for them both. The moment y/n came running into their apartment after work screaming excitedly about how Pentatonix would be doing another Christmas tour for their new album “Holiday’s Around the World”, Sebastian knew that’s when he was going to propose. A few emails back and forth later and Sebastian had an entire plan with the band.

“Seb, we’re going to be late..is there any way Chris can get someone else to help him? Why couldn’t Anthony help?” y/n asked softly, very stressed and worked up.

“I’m so sorry, baby. Anthony is in a huge meeting right now.” Sebastian replied sounding genuinely sorry.

At the arena, the band had come on stage to talk with the crowd and inform them all of the slight change to the show.

“Hey y’all!” Scott started when they all stepped out onto the stage earning cheers from all the fans.

“So before we start, we have a huge announcement for everyone. We actually have a couple that will be arriving in roughly ten minutes. We know the show is supposed to start now but we’re pushing it back just a bit as the boyfriend will be proposing!” Scott explained excitedly earning more cheers from everyone.

“Yes! We are just as excited! So her favorite song is Amazing Grace and that is when he chose to propose to her. So what’s going to happen is my lovely boyfriend Ben is going to act as if he’s getting couples here in orchestra to slow dance to the song together and when he gets to them, that’s when the proposal will happen!” Kirstin added in, helping the crowd understand the plan.

Those ten minutes passed and thankfully y/n had seen on twitter that there was a “fifteen” minute delay so they would be getting there perfectly on time. Once they got their tickets scanned and they got to their seats, the show started as it typically would. The openers, a girl named tom, did their part as normal and no one said anything to give away that this show was going to be any different. The band came on and began their routine. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, 12 Days of Christmas, Carol of the Bells, White Winter Hymnal, Wheel of Christmas, Audience Tiktok, Mary Did You Know, and Little Drummer Boy all came and went in what felt like blink of an eye to Sebastian. Amazing Grace started and everything was going perfectly. Ben approached Sebastian and Y/n, asking them to do a little dancing to possibly use as footage later which immediately was agreed to.

As the two began dancing, Sebastian smiled at y/n before slowly stoping their little dancing. He reached for the velvet box in his pocket, getting onto one knee, the group still going as they watched from the stage.

“Baby. You’ve been apart of my life for almost five years. Every day is a new adventure with you whether it be spending quality time together on set or staying home as you dance around the apartment to their songs. These things I want to experience everyday for the rest of my life. Y/n, will you make me the happiest man alive and marry me?” Sebastian asked, opening the box to reveal a beautifully simple oval diamond ring with a gold band.

Y/n teared up, shaking out of pure excitement as she listened to the words that came from her lovers mouth. She nodded quickly, hugging him tightly before he could put the ring on her finger. Once she let go, Sebastian slipped the ring on her finger, the ring fitting perfectly on her hand which worked perfectly on timing as the band ended the song with Sebastian standing to hug y/n again, the crowd cheering for both the band and the now engaged couple.

“Y/n, Sebastian. We are so so excited we got to be apart of your engagement tonight. We wish you all the most happiness in this new chapter of your life!” Mitch told them happily, Scott and Kirstie gently wiping stray tears that fell from their eyes.

The rest of the night had gone perfectly, once Star On Top came up, Matt invited y/n and Sebastian up on stage to have a “first dance” to the song since it is a love song.

“Oh god this is terrifying!” y/n told Sebastian, holding his hand tightly as the walked onto stage, the band greeting them with hugs and congratulations.

“You’ll be perfectly, darling.” Sebastian assured her, wrapping his arms perfectly around her waist.

The song began and the two swayed to the music, y/n placing her head on Sebastian’s chest as they swayed along.

In that moment, it was just the two of them. Soon-to-be Mrs and Mr. Sebastian Stan. Now for wedding planning which of course would result in wedding invited sent to the band.

Star-Shaped Girls headcanons:

 Alana is in charge of grocery shopping and replenishes Nina’s stock of dulce de leche ice cream on the condition that they actually share it.

Nina buys her HI-CHEW and they love eating it together. They’re both partial to strawberry, though Nina is also a grape lover.

Nina spins yarn in her free time and knits Alana the softest blue sweater ever.

Alana 3D prints them enzyme-substrate friendship necklaces (this is something I want to do with @sg951).

Things specific to KSJ/Filipina Alana: 

she designates Nina as the intelligent haircutter for the Kleinman children.

she makes lumpia rolls and turron for Nina to eat on the plane back to Washington Heights, as well as some extras for Benny.

Something specific to Linedy Genao’s Alana (Linedy was also Vanessa in Olney Theater’s ITH): she’s Vanessa’s cousin but has somehow never met Nina until they got to college. Cue Linedy-verse cousins + Nina as a trio.

Nina plays the piano to help Alana calm down after tiring days.

Sometimes when Alana needs a little more than that, Nina makes her some tea (more like tapioca pearls in milk), wraps her in a blanket, and hugs her soothingly. They’ll talk about the problem and possible solutions a little later, but what matters most at the time is keeping Alana from breaking down completely.

The girls love Pentatonix Christmas music and perform “White Winter Hymnal” together with their boyfriends playing the cup game as percussion.

Jared tries to pull silly stunts with his cup while Benny stares at him and waits for the cup stunts to be finished so they can actually switch cups.

Nina cries over books and makes Alana read them so they can be sad about them together. They end up making playlists for the characters and feeling even sadder.

The girls watch Coco, Frozen, and Encanto together. 

Coco hits too hard because they’ve both lost their grandmothers.

They replay Frozen when they occasionally get too indecisive about new movies they want to watch.

When they watch Encanto, they cry over “Surface Pressure” and “All of You,” sing and act out “What Else Can I Do?”, and watch Jared pull off his Camilo impression for literally all of Camilo’s scenes.

Alana has them listen to Superache!

Alana’s favorites are “Summer Child” and “Disaster” (but she relates to almost the entire album).

Nina screams along to “The Exit” when she showers.

Nina, in turn, plays Love Goes.

They’re both soft and partial to “Fire on Fire” and “Breaking Hearts,” though individually, Nina likes “Dance (’Til You Love Someone Else)” and “Another One” while Alana relates to “So Serious.”

Alana keeps a blue crowntail betta fish given to her as a birthday gift from Nina. His name is Finley as a cute pun and she trained him to jump to get his food pellets.
