Nuevo adelanto de The Red Scrolls of Magic
"¿Me estás siguiendo?" preguntó Alec.
"No necesito seguirte," dijo Helen. "¡A donde sea que vayas, siempre dejas un rastro de cadáveres y palacios destrozados! ¿Dónde está Magnus Bane? ¿Qué sucedió en Venice?"
Helen claramente estaba a punto de soltar más preguntas cuando Aline movió su mano entre ellos. "Disculpen."
"¡Qué!" Helen pareció darse cuenta de su presencia por primera vez. Sus ojos se encontraron.
"Hey," dijo Aline.
Hubo una breve pausa.
"Hola," dijo Helen.
Le siguió más silencio.
"Lo lamento," dijo Alec. "Estaba demasiado ocupado siendo interrogado para hacer introducciones apropiadas. Helen Blackthorn, ella es Aline Penhallow. Aline, ella es Helen."
"Y yo soy Leon," dijo Leon. Aline ni siquiera lo miró.
Helen siguió mirando a Aline.

Tagged by @haline-penthorn (Character Tag)
Sooo this is the tag where it’s like who are you most like out of TSC characters (I think?)
N
Physically, I’m most like Livvy/Dru. I have kinda shortish brown hair but I’m pretty lanky and stuff.
Emotionally, I have a lot of Alec in me. Much like @haline-penthorn said, his coming out encouraged mine a lot and I’m quite like him in that social situations and being a generally “people-y” person isn’t really my thing.
Overall though (coming as a surprise to exactly no one), I’m like Ty. Incredibly so. Like, it’s spooky (as @writing-in-verse will attest to). I’m autistic (hell yeah), love Sherlock Holmes and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, adore insects and animals - with a certain penchant for bees. A lot of Ty’s coping mechanisms are similar to mine. I’m hyperlexic. All that good Ty stuff. I’m also stubborn to a fault, far too proud for my own good which means I get myself in situations I shouldn’t be in because I want to be able to do things I can’t always do, but I’m also a good scholar.
So that’s meeee. I look a bit like this. Well, I mean, not a bit. I look like this. This is me:

Places of Henry | Acts I - IV
Henry wonders how he could ever sleep without the ground that breathes with him, without the trees whose hearts beat steady and warm, without the rivers that blink up at him with eyes hidden below their rocks.
Home in a place was never the same as home in a person, but if it has to be the former, home is no longer tripping over dogs in the street or wicker baskets full of fish. It is old ruins next to older bones and birds that slumber at daybreak, and a dog called Clam named Lion. It is a girl with fox eyes and a fox with human ones.
And home is still Ro -- will always be Ro -- but now, home is also the place that took him.

Rules are you say who your most like personality and look wise tona TSC character.
Look wise: hmm maybe Livvy/Dru? I have long curly dark brown hair, green eyes and I’m Caucasian.
Personality wise: Aline probably. I can get quite defensive of the people I love, I have a pretty big mouth (as in I should probably not say everything that comes to my head lol) and I can get pretty harsh and funny. And I’m a great cook (maybe not a personality thing lol but still).

Ten Writing Questions Tag Game
Thanks for the tag @seamusings! Sorry it took so long to answer.
Is there something you’re proud of, whether about your wips/writing or in general? What is it?
Actually finishing my WIP. At least, the first couple drafts in any case. Creating the story in your head is one thing, but finally seeing the entire thing written down to the point where you can go back and read it, and edit it, man that's such a great feeling.
On average, are your OCs more cat lovers or dog lovers? Or neither?
Cat lovers, for sure. Probably because I'm more a cat lover, so that bleeds into my characters.
What is the best thing that someone could tell you about your writing?
That it made them cry. Evoking that kind of emotion from written words is so exceedingly difficult, I find, so to reach that level of connection with a reader would be a wonderful dream.
What is your favorite type of character to write? Why?
The snarky, sarcastic, genre savvy character who just don't give a fuck. But who also actually care about things and have deeper emotional levels. Why? Probably because it's close to my own personality, and writing it is so much fun.
Are there any characters in your current wip that fit this description?
Hey, Rei, how you doing?
Describe your writing style in five words.
Succinct and to the point.
What is one piece of advice that you always try to follow? Why is it special to you?
The only advise I've ever really needed: follow the advice that works for you, and don't worry about the ones that don't. Trying to strictly follow every piece of advise you find about writing will drive you insane, and may actually be detrimental to your progress. Find a piece of advice that works great for you and you want to use it? Great, do that. Find another piece of advice that doesn't make sense to you, and slows you down or makes you struggle? Then don't follow it. You do you, and your work will be better for it.
Do you have a favorite part about writing? What is it?
Writing the climax! It's what everything else is building towards, so finally reaching that point and making it as epic and memorable as possible is the shit I live for.
Do you have a person that you always show/always want to show your writing to? Do you have someone that you’d never show your writing to? Why/why not?
No for both. I have people I love sharing my writing with, and others who I know don't really care, but I don't push it on anyone who doesn't want to read. If someone's interested, sure, I'll let them see. But different people enjoy different things, so depending on what I'm writing, someone Iv'e shown my work to before might not be interested this time, and that's okay.
Is there a place in the world (real or fictional) that you desperately want to go to? Why?
You know, most fictional worlds certainly sound great, or look great, but actually going there could end up being an actual nightmare for myriad reasons. I think I'd actually refrain from visiting any fictional worlds because of that. Real world, though? Japan, Egypt, and Greece are my top 3 travel destinations before I die. Maybe one day...
Would you rather publish a best-selling novel and regret some parts of it, or publish a book that no one reads but you’re happy with it?
Sure I can't have one that's best-selling and I'm super happy with? No? Okay, well I suppose it depends on what kinds of regrets I have with it. If they're relatively minor, which I think every writer has about their work even after it's released, then absolutely give me a best-seller. But if they're major things, like regrets over plot points or character decisions that I really don't enjoy or made me compromise my integrity and/or morals as a writer, then I'd much rather go with one that nobody reads. The primary reason I write is for myself, after all, so what's the point of writing something I'm not going to enjoy?

I don’t have time right now to come up with my own questions, so feel free to answer the same ones if you’re interested!

Get to know the writer tag
Rules: Answer 11 questions, ask 11 questions, tag 11 people
Thank you soo much @souliloquyyy for the tag!!! And I’m so sorry this is like several weks late. I’ve already done this one a few times but it’s always exciting being tagged, especially because the questions are always new :)
1) Favorite background character you’ve ever written?
Oof, I don’t know how to answer this just because my writing partner McHaggis and I have the terrible habit of creating a character specifically for background character purposes... Then we end up falling in love with them and making them a more major character.
Currently loving Hannah in Morsmordre since she literally has no purpose besides being another person in class with a hopeless, unrequited crush on one of the main characters... I am determined to keep her as just that — nothing more. I will not get attached.
2) Who or what is your inspiration?
@decantae and @autofoebia are my most immediate sources of inspiration I think, because they’re both fantastic writers and I’m in love with everything they do. and i want to impress them dammit I literally wouldn’t be writing if it wasn’t for them — no one can get me as excited for writing like they can.
I also find a lot of inspiration in music and other stories! If I’m really stuck on not having any ideas, listening to music or watching a movie or something can really give me an idea or just an itching to write.
3) Favorite book?
Despite my love-hate relationship with Harry Potter, there’s no denying that it had a massive impact on my life. I also really love Pride and Prejudice. Working my way through Crazy Rich Asians right now!
I desperately need to read more books, I’m not going to lie you guys.
4) If you could meet any author and take writing advice from them, who would it be?
Mary Shelley for sure.
5) At what age did you start writing?
I think at around six years old? I remember opening up word processor to write out a crappy fantasy scene.
6) Are you better at writing action or dialogue?
Dialogue 100%. It’s the only thing I’m actually proud of with my writing and action... Action is hard.
7) What’s one writing tip you’d like to share with whoever’s reading this post?
Looking back on your old writing and cringing doesn’t make you a bad writer, it means that you’ve improved.
8) Planner or Pantser? Underwriter or overwriter?
I’m a plantser! Which basically means that when I have an idea, I just have a bunch of headcanons that I want to write instead of a real plan.  Post-Script was the first time I’ve ever written something without some sort of plan which was slightly terrifying but super fun!
And I am an overwriter by far. I used to be an underwriter where I could barely reach 200 words to write a scene. And now it takes me a minimum of 1500 words to get to a point, and I don’t know how to write concisely???
9) How did you get the idea for your current WIP?
I got the idea for Tempest based off of a character backstory I made but never finished for a fantasy setting. I decided that I like the backstory better than the actual character, and decided to try my hand out at writing a myth!
Also someone ask me about how McHaggis and I came up with the idea for Morsmordre, I think it deserves its own post.
10) Do you prefer to write in first person or third person? Ever written in second person?
I prefer third person! I used to only be able to write in first person back in like middle school, but now I can only write in third person. I like it because it’s not as limited as first! However, I think my habit of writing internal monologues stems from my origins as a first person POV writer...
And yes I actually have written in second person. I used to write a bunch of stuff on Quizilla for like... fandom things. That involved a lot of reader x fandom character writing, which was a lot of second person.
It’s a shame that Quizilla is gone but also thank god my writing is gone along with it.
11) Which two characters from two different stories would you pair together as love interests?
oh my gosh i have no idea, i’m really attached to my own ships... And honestly I’m not a huge shipper in general. I don’t know if I would want them to be romantically involved... But I am dying to see Charles Boyle from Brooklyn 99 and Dwight Schrute from the Office to interact.
Here’s my 11 questions!
1) If you could meet only one of your OCs, who would you meet?
2) What’s your go-to snack?
3) Are you hoping to get published someday?
4) What’s your favorite genre to read or write? What’s your least favorite?
5) What was your favorite book as a kid?
6) Describe your writing style!
7) What’s your favorite weather?
8) What’s your proudest achievement in writing?
9) Do you prefer angst or fluff?
10) If you had to get a famous person to record the audiobook of your story, who would you choose?
11) Do you have a character archetype you write a lot?
Tagging @yourwritersblock @knightsofeclipse @haline-penthorn @toboldlywrite @a-place-of-babble @margaretcroftwrites @seamusings @lilmissravingwriter @maendoir @theprettypoems @aidenjaxwrites and anyone else who wants to answer these! Feel free to do this or ignore :)

Secret Santa Review Guide
Today I’ll be sending everyone a message confirming their wish and telling them who their secret santa is. Between the 13th and 18th you should send the blog/excerpt/WIP review via submissions to our blog. These will then be copied and posted ensuring you remain anonymous!
If you are stuck on your review, message me and I will offer whatever guidance I can! Though I am quite busy at the moment so I can’t promise prompt responses. So here’s a few tips to get you started...
Your review is spreading positivity! This is not something meant to act as constructive criticism, rather it is a celebration of all the great aspects of your secret santa’s blog/excerpt/WIP.
Spend time on it. Don’t slave away with the review but also put in the amount of care and effort you would like to receive! If I see something that is quite sparse, I might ask you to add to it or add to it myself before the post is submitted. But in the spirit of spreading positivity I hope this won’t happen!
Since it’s a submission don’t be afraid to put images or gifs or anything to jazz it up a bit and make it look pretty! I’d recommend drafting the post, then copy and paste from your drafts to the submission. This way you can even have gifs on your post!
I’d say the post doesn’t need to be any longer than 100 words. Just write about things you would appreciate as a writer!
I hope this helps a bit. I’ll definitely try to find a few writers feedback posts. I know there’s a lot out there, and they have some really helpful pointers on what to write! Tagging those taking part.
