Hi there! You know how a few weeks back you explained how to add CC to The Sims 4? Yeah, that kinda ruined my life I'm obessed now help was super helpful and surprisingly easy! You're totally right that it makes the game so much better.
I was wondering if you can share some of your fave ones, or if you know websites that have particularly good content to add. I found some great stuff here on tumblr but hey, why not ask for some recs? ✨
Hey! I'm so glad I was able to drag you into my addiction help! Here's some mods that I think are essential for my game that you might like too! (putting it under a read more for convienence to all those uninterested)
^Vicky has a ton of great mods but the ones that change traits, such as 100 base game traits and More CAS traits, plus Better CAS Randomization are literal game changers and I can no longer play without them
^Another great modder but especially for "My x" stuff, that stuff adds realism (like a better memory system) but also small visual details, like a blush when flirty or eyebags when exhausted. They're small details but I personally like it when my sim's eyes get teary when they're sad
^If you're planning on decorating your house at all (although you don't have to cause there are some gorgeous houses on mod sites and the gallery) this is a must. Idk why EA decided that mirrors can't be moved up and down but it's dumb move
^This one is great for adding more realism for weddings. It gives you options such as "Shop for ring" "Sign prenup" and "Shop for dresses". Now they don't really do anything (the mod will send your engaged sim and their partner off the lot for a while and they come back with a mood buff) but I think it adds a nice touch for story telling purposes and is probably the most fun part of planning a wedding
^LittleMsSam is another modder who is absolutely great, these are a bunch of her smaller mods,. There's a ton of them and not all of them might not be needed but I reccomend looking through them because there are some that are life changers (like famous sims gain followers automatically, which makes staying famous way easier)
^This is the most important mod on my list. I don't know if it bothers you as much as it bothers me but I hate it when I tell my sim to go to another room (whether to use the bathroom or check on their baby) and they pause to sniff the the air or to point out a mess, this mod basically makes it so that they do those things while still walking to save time. As much as I love all these mods, this one is probably the best
^This one is really good if you're planning on adding toddlers to your family because it gives you more items that can level up their skills (which can be really hard, esp without a wabbit tablet/their parents are busy)
^Me personally I prefer the method of moving NPCs into my house and then killing them when it comes to making money but if you prefer to make money the conventional way this mod adds more jobs your sims can do
https://twitter.com/PandaSamaSims4
I've decided I'm just gonna reccomended Pandasama because they also make a ton of really great mods
~~I'm gonna reblog with some of my favorite occult mods because I'm running out of space~~

Stan Edgar's and Homelander's relationship: my two cents
Tl;dr: Stan Edgar's show-canon relationship with Homelander presumes (and loosely establishes) the relationship between comics Homelander and James Stillwell, including James' Stillwell's extreme confidence vis-à-vis Homelander, which explains a lot of Stan's more insane choices provoking Homelander, but I remain naively hopeful that the show also means to show us in the end that he has miscalculated.
Following up on this post trying to figure out what the hell Stan Edgar's end game is with Homelander, I just want to add a small point to what I think is an excellent discussion because I think you can't really answer the question of Stan's intentions via-à-vis Homelander without establishing what the show-canon relationship between the two is supposed to be (even if the execution is done badly). Personally, I think show canon tries to do one of two things: 1. take the canon relationship in the comics and twist it by having "James Stillwell"/Stan Edgar miscalculate or 2. take the canon relationship in the comics and keep "James Stillwell"/Stan Edgar as the mastermind. My guess (and hope) is that they are going for number 1, but who knows, maybe there's some secret third option.
Either way, what is clear is that the show is trying to replicate, in some form, the dynamic that exists between Homelander and James Stillwell in the comics. That's apparent when Stan Edgar tells Starlight that Homelander will stay in line as long as he is in charge, which is supposed to establish that Stan Edgar is 100% confident in his ability to manage Homelander no matter what.
(It is also hinted at from Homelander's perspective when they replicate the comics plot point that Homelander is confused by/scared of his blood pressure/heart rate/whatever other readings he gets, and when he wonders if Stan Edgar is the headpopper because he thinks he must be a very powerful supe due to his lack of fear.)
Tumblr media
Seriously, I think the sentence above is central to understanding the relationship. BUT, interestingly, when he says "and we both know why", the viewer doesn't know why, and this is where the show could have really done a better job explaining it.
This is a problem with many of the points taken directly from the comics because they are casually imposed on the show without properly "translating" them to the new medium and the new storyline to actually make them significant to the show (instead of just mentioning them on the side). Another good example of this is Maeve's alcoholism. We see her drinking in S1E1 during a work meeting, then we don't see her drinking in meetings again though she still has occasional drinks, and in S3, she tells Butcher she's been sober for X months. But that's really all we see of it -- it never becomes a major point in her character arch and gets lost easily. So from a storytelling perspective, that's dissatisfying. Either weave the point properly into the character's arch, or leave it out entirely.
So anyway, back to the main point, which is that the show presumes the relationship from the comics and makes it visible here and there. I think they do a slightly better job with Homelander and his relationship with Stan "James Stillwell" Edgar than with Maeve's relationship with alcohol, but the point is still not translated very well. However, what we can take away from it is that for whatever Stan Edgar does, he always proceeds from the assumption that he has Homelander 100% under control, same as when James Stillwell tells an enraged Homelander, who has come to kill him, to do it already because he is bored out of his mind by his rant.
That is the level of confidence that should be assumed behind every single of Stan's actions that affect Homelander. My personal take is he takes some joy in humiliating Homelander and getting away with it, especially since this person he considers largely irrelevant to the company's bottom line has just given him a ton of extra work.
I did also consider the possibility that Stan is doing this strategically to show who the real boss is and bring Homelander back under his thumb, and I guess that's possible given that he has just had to deal with two Homelander contingencies in a row -- the supe terrorists and HL discovering Ryan. That would seem like a good time to reassess his prior assumptions about his control over HL. But I do think his confidence in his ability to manage HL is supposed to be taken as real and not just an act in S3, so my personal headcanon is that Stan is being petty. Homelander annoys him, so why only punish him once if he can do it -- cost free in his mind -- over and over again?
Anyway, my hope is that the show is going with having Stan Edgar miscalculating instead of masterminding. I don't want a "Stan as puppet master who saw every single one of Homelander's moves coming" storyline, but based on the way the scene between Homelander and Stan Edgar on 99 was done, miscalculation also seems more likely, because Stan does slam the glass down on the table as he leaves the room, which I'm guessing is meant to indicate that despite his blood pressure and calm demeanor, his blasé attitude was an act and he is waking up to the fact that, oops, he did miscalculate.
That doesn't answer all the questions, such as why choose Starlight over Maeve, but I mean, the answer to that one is pretty evident from a storytelling perspective: if you have a central heroine and a character who will leave the show at the end of the Season 3, which of of these two characters are you going to put at the center of a major conflict? Obviously the one who is your main heroine. Bringing in a new person mid-season just for this would be... a very questionable choice in any writer's room.
Anyway, I would also argue that in this case, it doesn't really do much harm to Stan's character building and story arch. It's totally in line with his own and Vought's overall ethics that they would discard a woman who, by industry standards, is old, and go for a fresh face, their rising star, a person Stan presumes to still be impressionable and malleable -- he knows how to work with people like that. Sure, she may not be as young as Vicky was when he got to her, but it's reasonable he would assume he could shape her more easily than Maeve, so I really don't see any plothole here.
Starlight's relationship with The Boys is irrelevant because Stan canonically does not see The Boys as a threat. He may not love Butcher, but he's good enough to form a temporary alliance with, and Stan certainly does not view him as a existential threat to himself or to Vought. That may be another miscalculation, but for the time being, given Butcher's hyperfocus on Homelander and his inability to see the big picture about Vought, it seems fair enough. Stan also doesn't believe that he's giving Starlight a whole lot of power with the new position. The co-captains are performing monkeys in his mind (just like Homelander himself has always been), so the risk, to him, is not much higher than having her join The Seven in the first place.
It certainly doesn't answer the question of why Stan put Stormfront in The Seven given what must be a very complex relationship between the two. Clearly, she's influential at the company, clearly, they work together (she does the high risk stuff for him so that he can maintain plausible deniability and distance himself from the ugliest parts of Vought's medical experiments), clearly, they do not like each other (unless there's something we don't know). But perhaps that's their deal: Stormfront does the ugly stuff for Stan, Stan gets her closer to her beloved Nazi-ideal-conforming potential son-in-spirit. Obviously, their exact relationship is never explained directly. It's either a plothole or a plotline that was left open because it will be closed later, or a plotline that was left open and will remain open because the way shows are written means not all loose ends are tied up in the end. Personally, I don't think we'll see this one resolved.
Anyway, best case scenario, the show will deliver as a twist on "James Stillwell" as someone who miscalculated on multiple fronts (mainly Homelander, possibly Butcher, but that's probably just my pipe dream lol) thanks to his overconfidence, and gets destroyed along with Vought as a consequence. Worst case scenario, this will all fizzle out and not be resolved properly as the show descends deeper into the contemporary American politics non-plotline.

THOUGHTS ON YOUR FAV SPIDERMAN RUN KING? 🎤
OHHHHH MAN.
okay. i have two favorites. there is jms's run (DESPITE sins past and omd bc those were editorial pushing that onto spider-man's narrative and it just happened to be him writing asm at the time so he was stuck with those shitty storylines. i also didnt like the spider-totem shit bc imo it goes against the core of spider-man which is that he wasnt "the chosen one" and that anyone can be spider-man but i will forgive jms for this) and there is friendly neighborhood spider-man 2019 which. believe it or not was by tom taylor. do not like the guy but that run was REALLY good but jms is still on top for me he just gets spider-man sooooo much tbh
jms's spider-man is good for many reasons to me, aside from the storylines being fun in general like even tho omd was ass it was written beautifully. peter and mj's goodbye brought tears to my eyes even tho i hate that stupid fucking idea im glad it was jms that executed it bc at least the writing was beautiful. AND what came before omd was back in black which is one of my favorite peter storylines in the entire world bc jms does write peter as a funny guy while also having him be hot-headed and vengeful and a dick ESPECIALLY when people he loves are on the line and this is something that many modern writers forgettttt omfgggg they diagnosed him with funnyguy disease and he has NO OTHER traits and he's so shallow but with jms he's real because you can tell his humor and his flippantness is an act and that he is VERY intense as a person which ... duh. his guilt is what gets him into spider-manning and then that guilt grows into a sense of responsibility and a care for community and people and that is something else i love about jms is the community in his stories !!! many of his storylines are focused on the neighborhood rather than him fighting outer space aliens or some shit its literally just him helping his neighbors and sometimes not even as spider-man but as peter which i love. and he's a teacher in this run too which is one of my favorite jobs peter has ever had because i think it fits him very well and he loves it and i wish he had gotten to keep it.
this run is so earnest and sincere and so many panels and conversations with mj and may make me insane but its still funny and it shows you who peter really is as a character i wish i could explain it with words but ill show you my favorite panels later instead. petermj is also at its heigh here and i think that if anybody were to read any peter run it should be jms's. i just think that overall jms shows you that despite peter's humor you still see how much he cares about people and how earnest he really is despite the whimsy (sigh) and though he's rude and a dick he does put his heart into everything it's just that the entire world is so against him and so his guilt and his grief and his choices eat at him no matter the outcome.
i also love this run bc mj knows about spider-man and may finds out and it just makes me think wowwww wwhat we could have had if omd had not happened. i get peter and his secrets blah blah but i hated that so many people do not know anymore after bc come on. ESPECIALLY mj and may (and the f4 and matt as well tbh but. for another day) and idk this run shows u a little glimpse of how much better it is when pete's loved ones know about his other life. idk. this was a small thing but whatever
i have so much in my head its just not coming out and its not coherent so. panels:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
asm (1999) #34
Tumblr media
asm #35
Tumblr media Tumblr media
asm #38
Tumblr media
asm #53
i want to add more panels but my laptop is starting to lag excuse her she has been with me since 2017 and is breathing so loud right now
to sum it up the writing is beautiful i love peter as a teacher i love the neighborhood and community aspect i love peter's characterization i love mj and may i even liked the little part where he lived in the avengers tower idk it was fun. i LOVED back in black. i didnt like the spider-totem shit bc i refuse to believe peter is the chosen one and i HATE sins past and i HATE omd (but jms wrote it beautifully). but overall jms gets it he sooo gets it and i love this run forever and as for taylor's fnsm 2019 its nice and fun and he also got pete's characterization but i wont go into it as much

((Talk about some of your favorite interactions! It doesn't matter if you're directly involved in them or not, it's just nice to spread positivity.))
Tumblr media
🥚 I've really enjoyed people coming into STM not only as patients, but as employees. It's nice to build the centre's staff community more and develop the other co-owners behind the scenes! I'm not able to do a whole lot in public cause of the laws in Canada regarding the mental health department, so a lot of that aspect I talk about over VC instead. But the physical health aspect has been fun to RP as well.
I've also really enjoyed my muses' interactions with Hope's main three Shibuyas. It's been really since seeing bonds grow over the past almost-year and seeing how well Hope fits into TWEWY as a whole. I can't wait to do more on that.
Honorable mention to Willow and the stuff we've been talking about behind the scenes and planning for the future. I can't wait for the dynamics with Hope and Dorian (( @afigitis )) and their other OCs to finally come to fruition!
As far as others:
💫🌌🎨 @the-composer @catncore and @dandybarista is always a fun trio to see on the dash. Willow and J's writing is always phenomenal and you can truly tell that these three have been through hell and back and that their bonds are unbreakable. J's focus on Joshua and his relationships with others really plays into this a lot and couples really well with Willow's story and world building and the intertwining lore that comes from not just these three, but other involved blogs as well. Especially when you factor in Willow's OCs into the mix as well.
🔫🍭 @lollipopsandgunshots Interpretations of Kariya and Uzuki and their relationship is absolutely on point and the way they intertwine their OCs into things as well to make this little community is such a breath of fresh air and adds onto that relationship's strength. As far as I'm concerned Katee's take on Kariya and Uzuki's realationship and families might as well be canon material.
💖 @hannah-the-small and I don't exactly talk / haven't talked too much but I really enjoy reading their content. Their current storyline with James and Hannah and the relationships they've built and are a part of are captivating and incredibly well written and their art only adds to that. Same with their HH stuff with Clem and Gritt's separate but still intertwined lives. They're the only person I will consume any sort of HH content from, because they're taking the established lore and making something entirely their own from the concepts it presents. It's always a joy to read their stuff! Can you tell I may look up to them a lil <<;
🐋 I've mostly lurked for the time being (AND DESPERATELY NEED TO CHANGE THIS) but I've absolutely been adoring the dynamics over at @narvvhal! The writing is dynamic and adds to the equally fascinating characterization of Childe and the bonds and relationships he has formed or is forming. Each is a joy to read and just as entrancing as the others to read. I never get bored learning more about this interpretation and how he interacts with the world and other folks, as well as how others react to him!
💜💙💗 And of course I can't go without talking about @kingsmedley, @pureposer and @strawberry-barista! The dynamics between Joshua, Haz and Hanekoma were my first experience with these three and I've enjoyed seeing how things have changed and evolved. Things conflict and clash, but can also be settled and it's fascinating to see just how three unstable people trying to get better can still have an amazing dynamic!
Now, I know Dusty and Kohi ((to an extent)) are drifting off to different paths and this timeline is gonna lay effectively dormant for the foreseeable future, but this still applies to their other muses as well, new and old. Same with Salem's! I'm confident that these three will find another way to connect and I can't wait to read ((and potentially be a part of)) what they create together.

~*~*~*~*~
The word fine was always interesting to me.
You see, whenever someone says their fine they usually mean that their not. Imagine asking your friend if they were okay and no matter how much they were suffering in their on head they would smile and wave you off, saying the same thing, “I’m fine”. But were they?
No one usually blinks twice at the answer. We all know it’s a lie but no one cares enough. Because whenever someone asks about how we feel, we know it’s not because that person cares.
It’s because it’s basic courtesy and it’s seen as rude if they don’t. However, most of the time, they never actually care. Which is why we find the need to say that we are indeed ‘fine’.
Now, I was trapped in that cycle. As I walked around the townhouse, feeling dead on the inside. I hated myself more then anything. As they prepared for Hybern, the queens, the war that was bound to occur, I was left to myself.
Occasionally when we got together for meals, or if they passed me in the hallway, someone would ask me if I was alright.
But as hollow and as empty I felt on the inside, as I struggled to fill the void in my head as intrusive thoughts constantly penetrated my mind, I always forced myself to smile, and say that I was fine.
There was one thing that kept me sane, helped me escape my reality. Books. Whenever I could I would make the long trek to the libraries and bookstores around Velaris and I would look for new books to read, new worlds to explore.
There was one that made me particularly interested, a book series called ‘Throne of Glass’. It was about a young female assassin and I was greatly invested in the whole series.
So I had my books, my small world, and I didn’t dare ask for anything more. As Feyre and Rhysand were still going at each other like two dogs in heat, I preferred to stay away, not really wanting to hear about my sister’s happiness.
I was happy for my sister, of course. She deserved her happiness but I could not help but feel trapped. I wanted to look for more, explore more.
There was a void in my soul that I wanted to fill, I wanted a purpose. And being trapped in this court, constantly being pressured to stay in line so things went smoothly. I hated it. I hated myself for wishing that I had more, told myself that I was ungrateful and that I should be thankful I was even alive.
But I felt alone.
Despite everything, I felt alone. Sure I was surrounded by people but it felt like that kind of loneliness that made me feel like I had no one. Nothing to depend on except myself and I know that that should have been enough but I wanted more then anything to have someone to lean on. I needed to get out of this place, I needed to feel free after everything.
“Y/N?” My head snapped up as I looked at Rhysand. His eyes hardened as if analysing my every move for a second before shaking his head. “I asked if you were going to accompany us back to your sister’s home to send a letter to the mortal queens, I need to make sure, just in case you had changed your mind,” I blinked before coming to a realisation that he was talking about the trip to the mortal lands tomorrow.
“Uh- yeah, I’m still going,” I stumbled over my words before quickly standing up, “I’m so sorry I’m extremely tired, I should probably get some rest before tomorrow, you guys can fill me in later,” Feyre looked at me with concern and Rhysand looked as if he was ready to call me out for my lie. But I quickly rushed to my room.
Not looking back.
~*~*~*~*~
The next morning came quickly. Though I had told the inner circle that I was exhausted, I did not sleep at all. I lay awake and watched the window in my bedroom until the sun began to rise. It was only the did I give up trying to fall asleep and threw back the covers to get ready.
I chose simple Illyrian leathers and a cloak that seemed to big for me, and the smell on it was so familiar though I could not quite put my finger on it. I pinned my hair back in a half updo, keeping the hair away from my face but not pinning it up entirely. I preferred my golden brown locks to be let down instead of tying it up, especially since I had long hair.
As I exited the room, I bumped into Nuala and Cerridwen, no doubt on their way to wake me and were shocked to see me up on my own, since I had been sleeping in the past few days. I showed them a polite smile before continuing my way to the kitchen. Azriel was there, no surprise. The three Illyrian males were always up and running at dawn. Well for Rhysand it was more like up and fucking my sister. I doubt Nesta would react well to their relationship or id they would keep it a secret.
Acknowledging Azriel with a subtle nod I approached the cabinet and took out a bar of chocolate, munching it as I leaned against the kitchen island. He was eating a sandwich, probably prepared by one of the wraiths or himself.
“So, books,” He raised his eyes at me expectingly. I shrugged as I took another bite out of the sugary goodness I was holding. “I like reading, it’s like an escape from reality, plays some of the characters are hot,” His eyes darkened and I could feel his gaze burning holes into me. I tugged the cloak tighter around my shoulder. “You do realise that’s my cloak right?” He deadpanned. It took me a second to register what he said before I blushed and immediately took the cloak off, extending it out to him, my face probably scarlet.
He chuckled before punching my hand back. “Keep it,” He said, “It looks better on you,” His lips twitched when I flushed further. I held the cloak to my chest before I remembered when I had thought that the scent on it was familiar. No wonder.
~*~*~*~*~
It was two hours later when we were finally gathered in the living space of the House of Wind. We went over the plan again. Feyre would fly with Cassian and I would fly with Azriel while Rhysand winnowed them to the gap near the wall and flew through the wall.
Waiting for Rhysand’s signal, Cassian glanced towards me and Az.
“You know,” He started, “You never actually specified how your powers worked,” My brain drew a blank. I didn’t exactly know myself. However, I supposed I could try and explain.
“I can manipulate shadow, kind of like Azriel, I can winnow and I can control the natural elements like air, water, fire and earth. When it comes to water I can increase or decrease the temperature to make it so scalding it would burn your skin off just to come into contact with the steam or I could make it so cold it would cause frost bite, the rest of the elements are kind of like the High Lords accordingly,” I explained. I supposed that was a decent explanation but I might have confused myself.
“So when you say that you can manipulate water, what about a substance with water,” Cassian pushed. I thought for a moment before nodding. I supposed that that was possible. “What about blood?” Azriel suddenly interrupted my train of thought. I turned to him and sighed before giving him my reply.
“Yes.”
~*~*~*~*~
A/N: This newer power will certainly be interesting to explore. IDK I was thinking about how our bodies are 75% water and I was like: Oh it woul be so cool if I could kill someone by quite literally draining them of blood if I could manipulate water. And so we have this. Sorry I took so long with this one but have a nice day loves <3

Experimental cc purge of Glennborough is certainly interesting. I’m sure I can come up with a ton of other things to do to avoid making progress on any of my existing projects.
Glennborough has more lots usable by an active farming household than Praaven. However, while the lots are larger overall, it does have a maddening tendency to create lovely farmland in CAW and then plop a farmhouse lot on it that’s just as big as the house. I’m not sure what the thinking is there -- you can’t run a farm on a non-lot, no matter how pretty the landscape is. I need space to actually garden and keep livestock and whatnot. There are even deco livestock (lol -- is that word singular or plural??) on CAW land. That just adds insult to injury.
Also, there are horses in households that don’t have box stalls on their lot, and that’s just trouble. OTOH, lot size isn’t quite as tight as Praaven -- there’s space on most residential lots to squeeze in a box stall if it’s relevant. On the downside, Glennborough’s central walled town is spacious and only supports a few households -- Praaven manages to really grab the feel of a dense medieval city.
I guess, to brainstorm, I remember that it’s possible for a household to own more than one lot. That might be a solution to the problem both on Praaven and Glennborough -- I can drop a custom lot down someplace using Edit Town and have the active household buy that lot to be their farm. In Glennborough, the secondary lot can adjoin the farmhouse lot and sit on the lovely CAW-textured farmland. In Praaven, the household would have to travel at least some distance to get to their farm, but I’m pretty sure that’s an authentic lifestyle for at least some serf-like peasants -- they have a small personal garden and commute to farmland owned by the nobles.
Praaven has the opposite horse problem, which is that households on the countryside generally don’t have box stalls, but there are box stalls in the walled city, which ALSO makes a mess. Praaven’s walled city feels very authentic, meaning the roads are narrow. I get regular stuck sim complaints about wedged horses in the city. I need to go root out those box stalls and remove horses from city households, then put box stalls on more country lots where they will fit, which isn’t actually as many as I would expect to have horses re tiny lots. I wonder if I added some tiny secondary lots to inactive households and put box stalls on them if NRaas-directed inactive behavior would handle these properly as an integrated part of the household.
Praaven’s incredibly immersive, and I’m not noticing any significant lag since I fixed the subway behavior for inactives. If I could have my ‘druthers, I’d reduce the map size and only have one peasant village rather than three with their duplicate churches and marketplaces. If I resolve my complaints and stay there for multiple generations, it does give me some variety in location, so there’s that.
My current plan is for Emma to be the heir and Alair to be the spare (Alair the heir spare, hee hee), mostly because I’d like to follow a woman around a bit longer after my foundress exited the story early. That means that when she marries, the active household will move. I don’t know that she’ll end up in another farm household, course, but I’d like for the world to have lots supporting enough variety of gameplay that Emma’s future household can have what it needs while Nash gets to keep one of the only lots on Praaven that can support an active-play farm.
I haven’t played very far ahead yet. Emma’s still a toddler in gameplay, as is Alair -- though he’s going to age up in a couple of days. Both have toddler traits that point toward fascinating storylines for me, so I’ll probably end up jumping back and forth more than I might otherwise.
I think I’ve talked myself into keeping Praaven for the next generation to see how it goes.

So which is your favorte element for waifus, husbandos and lore reason respectively?
Tumblr media
This question finally has me locked down. So let's talk about it!
Personally I wouldn't say I have a favorite element as in like that grouping just has my extensive list of most enjoyed. I believe that just comes as a measure of irony. Since to answer this question due to the listing, it'd just undoubtedly be Hydro as they'd come to have the most. LOL.
Inevitably it just leads down to their personality types I wound up favoring. Driven people for their causes, inspirations, so on and so forth in terms of the ladies. The 'grand' scale in terms of importance is entirely centered onto them, alongside the direction they take it, they tend to put a whole lot of heart in the matter even if it doesn't shower it.
Though I'd be a liar to say that Hydro doesn't singlehandedly hold some of the most stylish people (in terms of in game effects) in general..
So for the guys it'd pretty much be in the same boat. Except for this I don't really have the one that holds in the elemental realm. My favorite in general is just Thoma for who he is, and for all the things he can be if you play around with it. He's a character who I've pretty much taken into my fold since I don't expect mhy to give him any of the limelight I'm looking for. Normally a matter that would bother me in other fandom spheres I'm fine with Genshin. He's in this weird position of moldable and I really want to take advantage of that.
He feels like he's one thing, Genshin storyline for the time gave him great set up to be a roaming force, then his character story gives you insight into a part of his life you'd normally never see in game itself. So I'm taking the reigns of Thoma town since I want him to have some fun across the realm of Teyvat.
Now! If I were to pick a favorite for lore reasons..? Really hard to say, which in general, kind of remains the point of this whole post. The lore in itself is woven into this world's history, from character stories to a lot of the excerpts of the past. As it stands Sumeru's lore lines have been contending with the recent discoveries of Fontaine's. There's a whole world I still ponder about Mondstadt which I feel go put in that 'Tease a fuckton at the beta since we dunno if this will succeed' and the return there may change that on it's head entirely.
At this point in the series though. I deadass want some genuine/explorable peeks into a portion of the Abyss and Celestia alike.
tl;dr: Hydro, I just like Thoma, lore makes me just want to get in the deepest depths/doesn't have an affinity. As a small add on, I think instead of the element themselves, I'm more curious on the spiritual aspect connected to it.

This is just me being a bit overprotective of how heartstopper showed teens cause one of my favorite things about it is that none of them have, like, unrealistic body expectations. Even if they're extremely athletic, none of them have six-packs or anything like that. It shows what teens actually look like and that's special to me. But I've read and seen a couple things now where they make characters look completely different from what they look like in cannon. Especially Nick Nelson. He's a teen boy. He's drawn to have a gut, and that's normal. He is a teenager. Please, please, PLEASE stop changing that in fanfictions. People can be attractive without looking super lean and fit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But also Charlie!! Charlie is a small person and he's skinny. Tao is kinda short and scrawny (as they say with the whole "Twig arms" joke). They never really mention anyone's weight, height, or size.
I do want to focus a lot on other characters besides Nick as well because they are great things to focus on, all of them are really good representations of teenagers. But I haven't seen nearly as much of people changing their body in fanart and fanfiction.
I know that Kit now is really fit and athletic, they've joked about it before, but even then I don't see it as much of a reason to act like Nick can magically look like an actor that goes through training and probably has someone to help with their diet to make sure they can look a certain way for a role. Teenagers don't have that. Teenagers come in all shapes and sizes and it's important to keep them to what they are shown as in cannon. Especially in this cannon. Because this is the most realistic representation I've seen of teenagers, probably ever.
*Any part in bold from here on out might have spoilers for the heartstopper comics if you haven't read volume 3 & 4*
(Warning for content: mentions of eating disorders.)
One thing that is shown in character design, is Charlie and his eating disorder. Charlie has a hard time eating anything, especially when he gets stressed and feels like he doesn't have control over things. Charlie is skinny, and he isn't too athletic (yes, he was on the rugby team but (at least in the show) he isn't anymore). Charlie is scrawny, and that is part of his character design, and it is important to his storyline because that is a big driving point of volumes 3&4.
SHOULD BE SPOILER FREE FROM THIS POINT ON <3
With other characters there aren't too many things that make their character designs super important to be true to their character, but it is still important to draw teens naturally, because it can cause a LOT of harm to someone's mentality to see a teen look a certain way and no matter what they do they can't have that. Teen or not.
This is mostly just me ranting and it might not be me saying much that made sense or anything, but I felt it was important to talk about.
In a lot of media about teenagers we see extremely unrealistic body expectations. Even good shows. But a lot of very popular shows about teens in high school cast 20-30 year olds where they look drastically different from most teenagers and that can be very harmful to teens who watch those shows and start doing things to try and look like that. Whether it's over excersising, developing and eating disorder, or being unhealthy in any other way. It's sadly a big thing to see normal teenagers now and that's why it's important to me that we keep Heartstopper to stay that way.
100% feel free to reblog or reply with things you would like to add. If I mentioned anything that is harmful to this topic, please do tell me because I don't want to spread any harmful information.

Enterprise, Season 2, Episode 14. I have got some opinions about this episode. Be warned it's a heavy topic, related to AIDS, homophobia, and rape.
So first off, the entire premise is a complete retcon of Vulcans. Mind melds were never without risk, but they were something any Vulcan could do with proper training. Now suddenly only a small segment of the population has the ability. And now suddenly mind melds are forbidden, taboo, and can spread a disease; in fact this is the only way the disease can be spread.
To add on to that, Vulcans are now extremely prejudiced against people who can perform mind melds (melders) and prejudiced against anyone who contracts the disease, as it means they have experienced a mind meld at least once. And this prejudice causes the Vulcans to let the disease run rampant; they refuse to research a cure for their own people.
You are probably starting to see the parallels. Melders are meant to represent homosexual people, mind melds are gay sex, and this disease is meant to represent AIDS. But this metaphor has some very unpleasant sticking points.
First is the way T'Pol contracted the disease: she was forced into a mind meld. Following the metaphor, that means she was raped by a homosexual person. In fact, our only experience with melders in the show is the small group that included the man who forced the mind meld on her, and the one doctor who is pretending to not be a melder in this episode. Not great.
Second is the way the disease spreads. Only melders can spread the disease. This breaks the metaphor. AIDS is a disease that affects everyone equally, is spread through bodily fluids regardless of whether the people are homosexual or not (and honestly regardless of whether they are even having sex, but we'll get to that), that was unjustly attributed to a vulnerable population. But in this episode, the disease only affects people who have mind melds, which means it can only be spread by melders. The disease is attributed to them because they're the only ones who can spread it. It's been said many times, I've even said it in regards to racism storylines, but I'm gonna say it again: If you create a reason to justify the oppression of the oppressed group, you completely undercut the entire point of the metaphor.
Third, the way the disease spreads messes things up too. AIDS was spread not just through sex, but through other contact with bodily fluids like blood. That means it could spread by accident, no matter how careful a victim of the disease was. But in the show, since the disease only spreads through mind melds, all that has to be done is to stop engaging in mind melds until the disease dies out or a cure is found. Which again puts the blame for the disease spreading on the melders. See above bold and italicized note.
Frankly, this episode did nothing to generate sympathy for melders. It was mostly focused on generating sympathy for T'Pol, while blaming everything on melders. It's a shitty metaphor, and I feel like it's a strong sign of homophobia in the writers. Or just Rick Berman, apparently he's pretty homophobic.
On top of all this, Archer is such a complete asshole about everything. He's loud, rude, demands to know very private, personal information about T'Pol, gets angry when anyone implies that maybe she deserves some privacy, and angrily demands T'Pol publicly testify about the forced mind meld.
Jonathan Archer is now my least favorite captain, and yes, I am including Gabriel Lorca in that list.

Also 5!
Greedy little biddy, aren't we? (i'm joking, ily please don't leave me)
5. What are your fanfic pet peeves? Do they have a huge effect on whether or not you decide to read something?
Uuuuuuuugh. Okay. I really try not to judge too harshly, I do, but there are a few things I just can't get past.
I'm a huge stickler for grammar and spelling. We all make mistakes, and those are easily overlooked. And if grammar is a bit rough or not up to my standards, I'll still look past it for a really good fic. But SPAG was drilled into my head growing up. It was the be-all, end-all in my household. When it's really rough, I just can't, I'm sorry. It's painful and makes me cringe, physically wince. I'll not hesitate to close out, no matter how good the actual story promises to be, only because I know I won't be able to enjoy it from focusing on things that shouldn't rightfully matter but still do.
Also, super deviating characters. If they're too OOC, I'm out. Let's take Sirius for example (because he's a big one, and it's becoming more prominent as time passes). We all know his character, how he is, but some writers turn him super effeminate (and we're not talking about a trans Sirius here, that's completely different and i've no problem with that). But it's like people see gay slapped beside his name and think oh, let's make him whiny and prissy and super soft and shrill and basically turn him into a toddler who can't do anything for himself. I hate it. That is not Sirius. Or they make him overly-dramatic. And don't get me wrong, I enjoy a small dab of dramatic Sirius here and there. It's fun to read at times, and I'll sometimes add it to my own stuff. But it's slight, and I think that when he is dramatic, it's for a purpose, and he only does it when he actively wants to, makes that decision to play that part, not just because that's how he is.
If it doesn't serve a specific purpose to your storyline, and you're just massively changing a character's personality because you choose to view them that way, that's fine, you do you. Again, do what makes you happy, write for yourself, not for others. But I won't read it. Sorry.
Send me something from this writer ask!

I will write for; Blue Lock only currently but at some point, I'll probably write for other Anime/Manga as well
I will write for these characters;
— Isagi Yoichi
— Itoshi Rin
— Itoshi Sae
— Bachira Meguru
— Nagi Seishiro
— Mikage Reo
— Chigiri Hyoma
— Karasu Tobito
— Rensuke Kunigami
— Shoei Baro
— Shido Ryusei
— Oliver Aiku
— Michael Kaiser
⌑﹒⌣﹒💙﹒
what I will do; headcanons, one-shots/drabbles, and matchups
what genres I will write; fluff, crack, hurt comfort, and angst
examples/explanations for the things I will write for;
— MATCHUPS (only for blue lock)
what's that?; when requesting a matchup you'll need to choose an anime/manga of your choice and tell some information about yourself and then get paired with a character of said anime/manga that the author thinks you'll get along/would probably have a relationship with
requirements; to commission a blue lock matchup I'll need some info about you the most important are: your personality, hobbies, and things you like/dislike. you can also add your MBTI, Enneagram, your looks, etc. of course If you don't feel comfortable about sharing Info's about yourself that's completely fine no one is forcing you!! but then please keep in mind the more you leave out the harder it will be for me to think of a matchup
— HEADCANONS, AND ONE-SHOTS
headcanon requirements; to request a headcanon I'll need to know the headcanon, genre, and character/characters you want me to write for and perhaps a little explanation for the headcanon if you have something specific in mind! if you don't request any specific character/characters I'll choose them myself. I can also write for all characters but then I'll break it down into multiple parts and It will, of course, take longer to write and post If I wrote a headcanon in which your favorite character isn't included you can extra request that specific headcanon just with the character of your choice
headcanon request example; I would like to request a crack headcanon with x, x, and x in which the reader finds a stray cat and gets bitten, and now x, x, and x are scared because they think the reader got rabies
(stupid example but I hope y'all get what I mean T-T)
one-shot/drabble requirements; for one-shots/drabbles I'll need a story/plot that can be written into a small one-chapter story and only one specific character again if you have a very specific storyline/plot in mind I need a bit more detail to make it as accurate to your liking as possible and of course which genre it should be also if you see a one-shot/drabble I already made you can request that with a different character of your choice
small note; to me one-shots are a bit longer and drabbles shorter
one-shot (drabble) example; I would like to request a hurt comfort one-shot/drabble in which the reader wants to break up with x since they think they are only being a burden and x then stops them and reassures them that the reader is not a burden and that they'll love the reader no matter what and comfort them
I WON'T write anything that includes; non-con, dub-con, and gore
I WON'T write anything that supports; Racism, and Homophobia/Transphobia

The Old World: Stonetalon Mountains
Tumblr media
(Bear with me on my attempt at an audio transcription here, I've never been talented with audio, but I thought it might be fun, and add a little atmosphere to these posts if it all works out well.) Cataclysm changed a lot about quite a few of the zones in World of Warcraft, but the level of those changes were rarely equal. In terms of zones that were actually physically changed, two stand out to me most of all: one being the famous separation of The Barrens, the other being Stonetalon Mountains. Much as every World of Warcraft player loves to talk about The Barrens, I love talking about Stonetalon even more.
If you've played World of Warcraft post Cataclysm, you might remember Stonetalon Mountains as a pretty....intense zone. It's torn apart by war, the whole of Windshear Crag is a desolate field (okay, so maybe not everything is different.), the storyline is a tense plot about war crimes, and the zone feels like a fairly open place, ripe to explore in any direction. In it's original incarnation? It wasn't really any of those things, hell, it was downright restrictive, in a way I find endlessly relaxing. It's funny to write out, because it almost sounds crazy, but to navigate Stonetalon Mountains feels, to me, to walk uphill. I mean that in a very pleasant sense, of course. Before the updates opened the map up and allowed Old World flying, Stonetalon is largely one of the most singularly linear zones in the entirety of Azeroth. Sure, there's open areas, but the paths to those areas feel like narrow mountain paths that are really only there to guide people to one place (Incredibly, a few weeks ago I discovered there's a direct path from Sun Rock Retreat to the Charred Vale over a mountain peak....I have been playing this game for 16 years!). As a result, in feels like one of the more guided tours of a zone that existed in WoW at it's first launch. Especially if you were playing Horde, and had just come in from the notoriously wide open Barrens, scouring every tent for Mankirk's Wife and decimating the local Zhevra population. Now, I mentioned earlier that I find this zone relaxing, and that aforementioned narrow design is a big part of this. There's really nothing complicated about classic Stonetalon. Whether you're being sent to deal with the Venture Company in Windshear Crag, harassing the druids of Stonetalon Peak, or asked to trudge through the Charred Vale to kill god knows how many Harpies, you're really just going in one of four directions: Up, Down, Left, or Right. The linearity lends a specificity to it all, and most importantly, allows the places you're funneled into as a result to have loads and loads of personality and beautiful scenery.
Tumblr media
Take Mirkfallon Lake, for example. Such a small place, but with the help of a small handful of quests, a story all it's own. Just from looking at it we can ascertain that it's seen better days. It's dingy shoreline and abundance of dead trees attesting. Even so, our quest there is one of rebirth, life still clings on, and we need to borrow some of it for a sub-zone that's in even worse shape. The Charred Vale, of course, is a nightmare. It's full of harpies, everything is on fire, smoke is clouding the air, and you're going to pull that Harpy trying to get to that tin vein, no matter how sneaky you think your being. Even still, like Mirkfallon Lake, life is still clinging to this place, and your quests there are a micro story about the hope that one day it might return in force. Meanwhile, Windshear Crag and Stonetalon Peak tell a dueling tale of respect for nature, and utter contempt for it. Windshear Crag has been damn near depleted. Even the mighty waterfall overlooking the zone is being exploited by the Venture Company at this point. In Stonetalon Peak, meanwhile, it looks as if Nature hasn't been touched for thousands of years. Ironically, as a member of the Horde, I was simultaneously sent to Windshear Crag to protect natural beauty, and to Stonetalon Peak to fill the people doing the same thing full of arrows, nobody's perfect.
Before I wrap up, I have to talk one last place in particular: Sun Rock Retreat. No joke, as a kid, when I read the name of this settlement, I assumed it was a luxury spa. I mean why wouldn't it be? Doesn't that name just sound like a place where you can lay in the sun on a big stone slab, maybe take a dip in a pond? Even past my misconception on the many meanings the word "Retreat" can have, it's still one of my favorite towns in the game. It's tucked away and it has an eclectic mix of NPC's to meet. If you've never been there, well, I recommend going at least once. Even just to pretend you're going to a spa.
Or just to alternatively save/destroy nature. Really depends on your point of view.

Title: The Invisible Guardian (El guardián invisible) (Baztan Trilogy #1)
Author: Dolores Redondo (trans. Isabelle Kaufeler)
Genre/s: thiller, mystery
Content/Trigger Warning/s: pedophilia, attempted suicide, murder of teenage girls, rape, physical and mental child abuse, attempted murder, internalized misogyny, emotional abuse
Summary (from publisher's page): When the body of a teenaged girl is found on a riverbank in a remote area, the crime appears all too similar to a murder committed only months prior, igniting the worst fears of the small community of Elizondo. Homicide inspector Amaia Salazar, a strong, borderline-obsessive investigator, is assigned to the case. After all, this beautiful, peculiar backwater steeped in the blood of the Spanish Inquisition, where pagan beliefs still flourish under a thin veneer of modernity, is a space she knows better than anyone. Forced to return to Elizondo, a town she has always sought to escape, Amaia is tasked with finding a serial killer on the loose.
As the murders in the area grow increasingly violent, the locals come to believe only one creature could possibly be responsible: a creature of Basque mythology known as the basajaun, or Invisible Guardian. But Amaia is logical—a professional—and she refuses to let local superstitions distract her from her careful detective work. As the investigation deepens, a troubling secret from Amaia’s past plagues her with nightmares and soon her findings seem to transform myth into reality. Everything she believes to be rational and verifiable is called into question. Now Amaia must fight her demons and determine if these murders are the work of a ritualistic killer or something even darker.

Spoiler-Free Review: This book wasn’t half-bad a ride to be honest. For the most part, it’s about exactly what it says on the tin: a mystery involving a serial killer who’s going around killing young girls. Following that mystery to its conclusion is definitely part of what makes this book an enjoyable read, and there were enough twists that it was hard to predict until the novel’s climax who the serial killer actually was. I’m not going to lie: I didn’t see it coming until just before the reveal, which is a good sign for a mystery, in my opinion. I will say that the killings are quite disturbing, as is the motive behind them - not in the gory sense (though they can get pretty gory too), but in the sense that it makes pretty clear how evil this criminal is, and how twisted their path to perdition. The novel also goes pretty in-depth in describing the crime scenes, as well as the investigative methods used, so those are likely to disturb certain readers.
Alongside the investigation of the killings, the novel tells the story of Amaia’s family and her surprisingly dark past. Those two storylines - Amaia’s past and the investigation - running in parallel to each other is interesting, mirroring each other in themes of trauma and victimhood, but there were times when the telling of the former would bog down the flow of the latter, or vice-versa. It’s a small gripe for me, personally, but I suspect readers who prefer their mysteries to be more tightly plotted might find these changes in pace annoying.
The incorporation of the supernatural elements in this story was another thing I enjoyed, but which I think other readers might not. I admit that the way they’re used has a bit of a deus ex machina feel to it, but I tend to see the supernatural elements as more a reflection of Amaia’s worldview, since she did grow up in the Baztan Valley and the myths and legends of the locale would have been deeply ingrained in her subconscious no matter how much distance she tried to put between herself and her past. They also add color to the setting, helping to bring the town of Elizondo and the rest of the Baztan Valley to life.
Despite all that, a part of me wonders if the rough edges I encountered in the reading are related to the translation, rather than the author’s actual craftsmanship. Would this novel come off as more polished in its original language? Possibly, but I can’t say for certain because I don’t understand Spanish.
Overall, I found this book enjoyable to read, with an absorbing mystery and interesting characters. The supernatural touches seemed out of place at times, and are likely to rub some readers the wrong way, but other readers will probably find them interesting, lending insight into the setting and the characters. I do wonder, though, if the novel’s rough spots are due to the translation as opposed to the author’s craft, but only readers of the original Spanish will be able to comment on that aspect with any authority.

I’ve been trying to think of how to word a second impressions of TOTK, now that I’m focusing almost exclusively on main quests and honestly... it’s kinda boring.
I mean, it’s boring in the way I feel about most modern LOZ games, in which the more the narrative tries and presents itself as grandiose and epic ironically the thinner I find the whole façade. Main quest events can be fun to do in terms of gameplay but the story just does a bunch of little things that add up and will always bug me. I’ve seen other people really enjoy the main campaign, and honestly good for them, wish that were me. I wouldn’t be surprised if on a second playthrough or so I just plain skipped most of this and focused on side content that I enjoy more.
Ganon may as well be a voiceless boar monster again for all his character has actually contributed. I know he’s had dialogue, but aside from the first scene, I genuinely can’t remember what he’s said because there’s no real personality in it and it just doesn’t matter. Unless a twist happens near the end that really adds something, this confirms my thoughts that Ganon might be the most boring recurring character in video games.
I do still care about Zelda, though. She’s a slightly different character (can’t have her nerd out over ancient tech if we’re acting like that stuff never existed now - the retcons in this game fluctuate between acceptable and hilariously bad) but I still like this version of Zelda in her own way. She comes across as a determined young woman with a small arc of learning how to best help and protect those she cares about. It’s not an especially unique storyline or greatly told, but its endearing enough for me to have hunted down every version of “memories” to see a bit more. This game still carries over from BOTW a sense that she is a deuteragonist, she and Link have storylines that work in tandem to each other and that’s interesting. Know that I am continuing the main story for her and her alone!
TL;DR this game has some cool ideas but they’re diluted over a story that just doesn’t have enough going on to justify its own sense of importance and the work the player has to find most of it.

nana rewatch notes- episode 24
-hachi immedietely emailing nana after hooking up with takumi vs nana running to her boyfriend in order to feel less lonely (loneliness that comes from the fact that hachi is romantically involved with someone)…it’s the lesbianism for me
-hmm this information about reira is really interesting. in order to showcase her talent, she is required to hide the fact that she’s half american, a pretty significant part of her identity. but SHE doesen’t care whether or not people know. It’s her agents who are the forcing her hide it. her talent is valued above all else. who she is doesn’t matter. she constantly needs to live up to an image that she doesn’t seem to have any desire to live up to.
-guess i can’t ignore that she is in bed with shin any longer. i really wished ai yazawa cut out the entire storyline between reira and shin. it doesn’t add much and usually feels like a method to worm out exposition from reira. reira, who is an incredibly interesting character, ends up being difficult to talk about with nuance since she’s a predator.
-yazawa could’ve leaned on reira’s relationship ren to get a lot of this exposition considering they already both bond over the isolation they feel from their talent.
-however, as this scene is, i’ll say that i dont’t think it’s a coincidence that some of the show’s most communitative conversations come from pillow talk.
-now even nobu is talking about the demon lord. also notice how the characters only buy into the demon lord when they are they are currently avoiding taking responsibility.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-they are so cute
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-IM DYING AT THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT HER
-i can’t do this. hachi and nana go their boyfriends in order to avoid confronting how they want more attention from one another.
-VERY interesting that nana is trying to encourage hachi’s relationship with takumi. she really does not like seeing hachi upset. nana doesn’t believe anything she’s saying to hachi, but she wants to for the sake of hachi. she’s like the opposite of junko. meanwhile hachi has been cynical from since she started things with takumi.
-i wasn’t expecting hachi to admit she thought nana was going to despise her lol. hachi admits to feeling foolish for getting mixed up with takumi as well.
-nana ends up saying all the wrong things despite clearly not meaning to. nana thinks that hachi loves takumi DESPITE being a famous musician. but hachi thinks to herself about how once she seperates the status from the person takumi’s toxic behavior is glaringly obvious. nana is pushing her ideals of hachi onto her.
-oh wow. they were all just talking about hachi without her knowing. that would be so humiliating. and what the fuck is wrong with ren? he had no reason to repeat what takumi word for word to nana. and when nana gets upset he says that takumi DIDN’T MEAN ANY RESPECT??? i truly hate men.
-god they really want her to love takumi so they can keep their image of her at bay. and now hachi is filled w/ doubt. maybe she CAN love takumi; maybe there is a small chance of this working out even if it’ll never make her happy; maybe she is fixable.
-nobu going to a 16 yr old for relationship advice
-nana singing rose so that both hachi and nobu can hear her as nobu confesses…
“i need your love, im a broken rose”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-the directing in this scene is so fucking good
-who is speaking the lyrics? and to who? it could be nana to hachi, hachi to nobu, or hachi to nana. then of course nobu to hachi, the clearer parallel.
