No worries, you're good! Do you have particular favorite characters or adaptations? What about fandom artists/creators?

Hi Santa!  My favorite character is Erik, that contradictory mess of a man.  His absolute ultra competence at so many things, while being simultaneously stunningly bad at the basics of human interaction;  his conscious and unconscious seductiveness, while believing himself to be completely undesirable; his cynicism and seeming disregard for humanity, while harboring an incredibly tender heart; aloof, untouchable, needing nothing from anyone--completely undone by his yearning to be accepted and loved by Christine.  His potential, who he could have become if things had been different for him, and who he can become now, now that he has made terrible terrible mistakes, I just find endlessly fascinating.      Being new to phandom, it will be a year (!) this coming Monday, I have not had enough time yet to see and read all the things, and in fact have been holding some in reserve to savor later.  I have not read the novel, and I have not purchased one yet and would like to try several different translations.  I have read most of Kay, but not all the way through.  I have seen the show live four times....but they were all the Restaged, which I have since come to learn is such a stunted, gnarled version of the Brilliant Original that it is a wonder there was enough left intact to enthrall me.  By sheerest luck I got to see Derrick Davis as the Phantom in those productions and I know that was what made the difference.  I have since seen online in the streams a number of different portrayals and found something to love about all of them ( not you, Cooper or you either, Uwe).  So I am very much influenced by ALW at this point.  I am looking forward to watching the 25th anniversary at RAH, the Aussie version of LND, and Cherik, although I have heard that that will break my heart.  Fandom artists, again, newer ground for me.  Assuming here you are not asking about writers.  I love the vast and varied abilities of @epwhales, the storytelling ability of @klausscrimshaw, especially A Ghost on the Roof, the amazing talent of @timebird84, both her POTO art and her original photography, the outrageous humor and humanity of @phana-banana.  And I cannot get enough of the POTO animatic done by @mangomomm.  But the person who continually both steals and breaks my heart with her artwork is @drreallyreallystrange, a certified national treasure.
