I got this baby at a 99 Ranch Market. He was a small cutting in a 10" pot. He also moved with us to this house and that when I added the trellis.

Your plants don't have to look perfect, they go through tough time, like us. I did overwater him a bit in February and got sunburned on the lower part, but damn he is coming back strong. 💚 💪🏽

My Journey with Begonia Elatior

Hey fellow plant lovers! 🌿 I recently faced some real challenges while growing my Begonia Elatior and wanted to share my experiences and solutions with you all.

I've always been enchanted by the beauty of Begonia Elatior, but it turned out to be trickier than I expected. Here's what happened:

My Begonia Elatior, though stunning, gave me a few headaches at first:

Water Woes: I was overwatering without realizing it. These beauties need moist soil, but not too much water.

The Right Light: Finding the perfect lighting was a bit of a puzzle. It needs bright, indirect light to thrive.

Pest Problems: I encountered some pesky visitors on my plant. It was a challenge, but I managed to get rid of them.

Climate Control: Adjusting the temperature and humidity in my home was key to making my Begonia happy.

It took some trial and error, but my Begonia Elatior is now flourishing! 🌸 I learned a ton, especially from a fantastic French site I stumbled upon. They have a detailed article on Begonia Elatior care that was incredibly helpful.

Status🌿 #scindapsuspictusargyraeus . . . Amazed at how well this plant is growing in my apartment. Picked this up from a local grocery store as a small 4" plant two months ago. It has been unbelievably forgiving, first when I underwatered it, then when I overwatered💧💧💧 it. Oops! Aside from dropping a couple of leaves in protest, it has recovered nicely. Here is the oldest plant in my apartment. This is my pin cushion cactus. It’s survived being in an enclosed terrarium (🙃), a college art piece, The mealy bug infestation of 2014, and relocating it a million times in the apartment. It now grows happily alongside other cacti and succulents that I keep in my bedroom. It serves as a good reminder of where I started in my plant journey. I never took my plant parent hood experiences lightly. Every mistake was as important as my accomplishments.
