Day 20 Prompt: Sting
I’ve never been stung by a bee
So there’s no way to guarantee
A decent response
To this little prompt
I don’t even know how to feel…
When I see a bee I just freeze
And let it do what it may please
For what I have read
A sting leaves bees dead
And if it’s in you, do not squeeze!
I have two comments:
1) I did not write this in 2020, but less than an hour ago
2) I thought I might try something new for this poem, since I wasn’t sure how to convey this as a double haiku…

Happy All Hallows Day, everyone!
Since I am too busy and unprepared for NaNoWriMo, I decided that I would instead go the simpler option: Poemvember. Unfortunately, I don’t know what this year’s prompts are, I will be sharing the 22 poems that wrote for the prompts from 2020.

I am no poet
This whole thing is new to me,
But I like haikus…

I guess I blew it…
I panicked and went silent,
But that is alright.
The month is over.

Day 25 Prompt: Grow
I once was a tiny, dead weed
Who never could sprout from the seed
But rain came one night
In morning, sunlight
I now get the care that I need!
My leave finally had turned green
And I was a sight to be seen
No longer in gloom
A flower in bloom
And breathing in air that is clean!

Day 23 Prompt: Betrayal
How could you do this?
Stab me in the back, and then
Leave me there to rot?
I thought we were friends!
I put all my trust in you
Only to be fooled!
(This is a very cynical prompt for the holiday that is happening today. Anyway…)
Happy Thanksgiving!
I’ll admit the bitter truth:
The pilgrims were jerks.
(This guys makes a more valid point… Anyway, I hope people still enjoy the holiday by spending time with family, even if they are unable to find the time to educate themselves about its underlying origins. Luckily, tomorrow is a great opportunity for that because tomorrow is Indigenous Heritage Day! I am aware that I am getting carried away and this is going off topic, so I will add some betrayal-based songs to make up for it…)

Windows of snowflakes
Signify a special change
Winter drawing near
Painted clear crystals
Formed from water solid cold
Decorate the glass
Like the morning dew
Coming from Spring and Summer
It covers the trees
Some say that fairies
Apply the snow every year
Others don’t believe

Dancing through the midnight breeze
