Black Paladin Keith Love

So, hi guys. This post is probably the most bare I will ever make myself so any jerks will be immediately blocked. I’ve been struggling with loneliness from the Voltron fandom specifically. While I have always been okay with having unpopular opinions, it gets really lonely and I feel like something is wrong with me at times.

This server is an attempt to create a small community of like-minded individuals who support the idea of Keith as the Black Paladin. That is not all this server will be about obviously. You can discuss Voltron theories you have, headcanons, ships you love, gushing about what you love in general as well as personal gripes, but Keith is a pretty popular character. And most fans love him as the Red Paladin and also prefer he remain the hot-head right hand. But if you are like me (I am honestly hoping I am not the only one but given my likes on my Black Paladin Keith posts, I’m guessing not) and support Keith as a character and his growth and being the leader of Voltron, this server is for you.

However, there are a few rules:

1. Be kind. Kindness is a big value for me. You can express your opinions in a nice way without being mean. Isn’t there enough meanness and unkindness in the world?

2. No Sheith or Shidge shippers please. I don’t want to be uncomfortable in a server that I want to build as a small community. Other Shaladin ships are considered and Klance shippers are welcome as long as they can follow the first rule and not give death threats or be mean.

3. No transgender people please for similar reason to Sheith and Shidge. We are LGB friendly though and I have nothing against lesbians, gay and bisexuals. So LGBs welcome!! :)

I can’t think of anything else that needs to be said. As I am not looking for a too big community, this particular link will expire within 7 days from now but if I see people getting more interested, then I will do a short post with another link.

18+ are encouraged but minors are also welcome.

Idk I think her being frustrated and angry and even a little scared makes sense in their very specific situation, considering that nearly her entire race was wiped out? And not like, a super long time ago her like she lived through the active loss and grieving of her family and people I don’t think it’s comparable to people who have generational trauma at the hands of yt ppl that, while is still difficult to handle, isn’t necessarily from their own lived experiences? And also not while living with the glara and beside them while being oppressed by them but still generally having rights? Her only frame of reference is terrible violent trauma from her direct experience that I think could have been explored better as the terrible trauma that that was and not framing it as the weird reverse racism thing they went with… idk. It’s been forever since I watched it but I think that’s generally what I thought at the time? Like it’s a bit more complicated. It definitely should have been more toned down in most areas and the potential bond and friendship that could have been born out of canon kallura could have been so good BECAUSE of it y’know? Like… healing… growing… frustration… . Anger.. blame.. bonding and then once again trust, but stronger! like there’s layers!! Also I’m very pro girls being angry and acting out….. idk… sorry

once again… it’s been awhile I have Not rewatched I’m not that strong

ok ok yeah. yeah i see what you're saying. the whole reverse racism storyline bothered me a lot too like. you could tell those were white writers (insult). i just think she's smart and logically she would know keith didnt really. do anything. obviously she'd feel her feelings about it but. you know i dont think pretending he didnt exist was The Move. i too am For angry women but i do not like how they handled that conflict very much. do not like it very much at all.

Status Post #726: I know some people think that Kallura is like Zutara, but I don't because A) Keith didn't start out as bad like Zuko, B) Keith and Allura only argued each other in season 2 after Allura was shocked and angry when Keith was revealed to have Galra blood, while Zuko and Katara did confront each other as enemies and when Katara threatened Zuko should he attack Aang after his redemption, C) Keith and Allura have gotten along well after making amends and D) Klance is actually like Zutara.

The way every single time there's a media with a child of color who tries to act older than they are as a trauma response there's countless people in it's fandom desperate to prove they don't 'count' as a kid because of that coping mechanism..........Katara from Atla gets treated as a mom figure to her male love interest who she has a literal two year age difference with and shipped off with the designated 'hot older bad boy' because he's the more 'realistic' choice as if she didn't deadass hate his ass except for like the last five episodes,Damian from DC is constantly thrown verbal abuse by the fandom with the most common one being that he 'deserves to get beat up' for daring to have a big ego after being raised as a paragon instead of a person,Momo from Bnha got assigned the 'class mom' when it's an actual plot point that being adultified gives her anxiety attacks because of how much it's happened to her-Starting with her own fucking parents-and Allura from Vld and Hobie from Spiderverse are straight up said to actually be grown despite having romances with characters who're explicitly teenagers and nobody in-universe saying there's an age difference AND when they've been framed as being in the same category as them since the beginning.You people genuinely hate kids of color so much you don't even want them existing in fucking cartoons.Y'all are so foul and for what

Saying kid characters of color can't be kids because 'They don't really act that age' is actual rethoric used to adultify irl traumatized younger poc as an excuse to make emotionally abusing or even sexualizing them look not bad.In addition to the racial aspects,this also plays into society's idea that kids can't be people because 'they're too young to comprehend feelings and thoughts' and it provides a safe haven for REAL child abusers both online and in person and it really shows with how often minors in fandom are cyberbullied by adults for speaking up for themselves even outside of this context

I respect you for it.

@mf-discourse it won't let me reblog so let me address your points.

I understand your concerns about shipping Allura with the Galra, but Keith was always raised as a human. He doesn't have any Galra ideologies. Plus, that point is kinda pushing anti-interracial marriage. And I've watched Voltron several times, but I've never seen any Shallura hinting. Also, you can headcanon Allura as a lesbian all you want but that's not a valid point in a argument because your headcanons aren't canon. And, as one last point, Allura and Keith may not have chemistry in your opinion but it's only s3 and there's a lot of great metas on why they will have a slowburn romance so I recommend you check them out.
