soooo I made some morphology's and outfits for td charcters, here’s what I have so far (warning, this is gonna be long)

Gwen: outfit (Female Pearlcatcher; teal Jupiter, obsidian Basic, and emerald Basic) This is one of my personal favorites, it's simple but it works really well, but you'll see the morphologies and outfits get more complicated soooo

Courtney: outfit (Female Coatl; sand Cherub, camo Constellation, and wisteria Basic) Another favorite, she just looks pretty :3

Duncan: outfit (Male Bogsneak, eldritch Cinder, fern Blaze, and flaxen Basic) Silly little eepy guy, I feel like this is probably the most accurate dragon of any td character i've made. not much to say about him tho

Alejandro: outfit (Male Imperial; coral Python, maroon Shimmer, and blood Smoke) This is actually a dragon that I have, you can check him out here, but it actually took a couple tries to get an outfit that I think works with him lol

Bridgette: outfit (Female Skydancer; caribbean Lionfish, sanddollar Shimmer, and cobalt Okapi) nothing much to say other than, pretty :3

Geoff: outfit (Male Pearlcatcher; magenta Clown, ivory Butterfly, and strawberry Spines) same with Bridgette, I wanted them to be matching, cause, y'know. they kiss :<, but I honestly prefer this one over Bridgette (the outfit, not the morphology)

Harold: outfit (Male Ridgeback; periwinkle Skink, orange Hex, and fern Stained) I'm really happy with how this came out, even if it took a couple redos lol, and the steampunk apparel works with Harold's, vibe

ok for some stupid reason I can't put the pictures of Beth, Justin, Katie and Sadie [im on pc], so I'm just going to link the morphologies here: Beth (Female Aether; ivory Candy, magenta Butterfly, and shamrock Wish), Justin (Male Aether; bronze Boa, hunter Daub, and overcast Flutter), Katie and Sadie (Female Aberration; brown Pinstripe, ivory Flair, and cottoncandy Koi)

Ezekiel: outfit (Male Wildclaw; algae Pinstripe, soil Patchwork, and stonewash Veined) My favorite tbh, can't really explain why it just, ✨does✨

Feral Ezekiel: outfit (Male Mirror; fern Stiched, camo Patchwork, and cobalt Ghost) yeah, i made the eepy. i changed the breed cause 1) it reflects how ezekiel changed after his mutation, and 2) Male Wildclaw's position(?) isn't creaturey enough

Leshawna: outfit (Female Obelisk; ginger Falcon, obsidian Rosette, and cerise Contour) Nothing much to say about this one tbh, she looks real pretty tho :D

Owen: outfit (Male Snapper; metals Ground, marigold Safari, and teal Koi) I like this one, it's simple but unfortunately i couldn't find anything to represent his maple leaf :(

Cody: outfit (Male Coatl; gold Swirl, twilight Fissure, and copper Contour) i'm honestly not happy with this one, specifically the outfit. might redo this one later, and remove all the autumn stuff

DJ: outfit (Male Tundra; camo Python, brown Constellation, and dust Runes) lookie, is my boy :3333333333

Izzy: outfit (Female Mirror; sunshine Clown, pear Eye Spots, and avocado Gembond) really happy with this one, it fits her well and gives off her craziness :>

Sierra: outfit (Female Spiral; jade Clown, mulberry Hypnotic, and blackberry Opal) i'm very lucky to have found the apparel that i did for her, cause if i didn't, i have no idea what outfit to have given her ;-; but yeah she pretty

Eva: outfit (Female Snapper; cobalt Falcon, sapphire Peregrine, and obsidian Spines) big buff lady :D

Tyler: outfit (Male Ridgeback; cherry Jupiter, sable Eel, and white Basic) A fan of this one, and the Love's Herald was a gift from Lindsay. and now thinking about it, i might wanna make some lore for this. it's a big maybe though

Lindsay: outfit (Female Fae; garnet Flaunt, honey Jester, and cornflower Scales) i don't know how to feel abt this one, not a fan of it. and also will probably redo the outfit. the morphology i can live with.

Noah: outfit (Male Nocturne; brown Jupiter, pthalo Safari, and crimson Underbelly) another favorite, it gives off very Noah vibes lol (and i just realized that he shares a gene with Owen. so do with that information as you will)

Trent: outfit (Male Skydancer; algae Viperia, forest Eel, and obsidian Koi) I love this one, gives off very bard/guitarist kinda vibes. and if there was lore, i imagine trent would be a nomad entertainer, playing in small towns and cities, and maybe at a bar or two

Chris: outfit (Male Fae; forest Falcon, teal Myrid, and obsidian Smoke) look, it's him, the guy!!!!/j but in all seriousness, this is literally just him. entitled little short king who slays (i also have one for Chef, but it's yucky :,<)

i had one for Heather, but I deleted the outfit for her, which was of a dragon that i already sold, soooooooo i'm just gonna make a new one for her :3 also thank you for reading this long ass post (if you actually did), it means a lot to me :3

okay just some housekeeping stuff

gonna do a poll tomorrow(?) about what project i should do for nanowrimo because i thought i had an idea but now i'm not sure so i wanna see what people want to see because that is what is going to get me through writing a multichap

i'm thinking of setting up a taglist for when i post my fics to tumblr if that's something people are interested in? if you want to know when i post new fics you can always subscribe to me on ao3 but i get that some people don't want an ao3 account or just prefer to read on tumblr. i'll only do that if people are interested tho

i desperately need to redo my pinned post. it doesn't look good, i have a bunch more links i need to add, and i think i could make it a little more personal

i'm probably going to close requests for a bit just to get through some of the stuff i've gotten. my backlog is so long and i do genuinely want to get to some of the stuff in there and i feel really bad that i am only now getting to stuff from november - april. i'm really sorry about that

Musing on bg3 mods and learning styles/requirements

Okay. I've spent the requisite hours browsing tumblr and ruminating on gender this morning. Now its time to work. Back to operation: Lythira's custom face/head. Gonna have to redo it from the start today but I managed to get an elf head onto a tiefling body and give it some cute spikey ears last night so I think now at least I've got some of the basics of this part of process down. It only took the better part of 8+hours, some tears and temper tantrums, and wanting to give up and never look at it again like half a dozen times to get the first couple of steps figured out(sort of). Real talk tho: the tutorials, guides, resources, etc for this are so very frustrating FOR ME. They're full of wonderful information from very smart, generous humans who're doing all this for free and I'm so incredibly grateful. However, the way they're laid out, the way folks just gesture vaguely to their general direction with a "these tutorials are wonderful and all you need and this is how everyone else figured it out so you should be able to too", the lack of a step by step-hold your hand through every single click and button press and explain every tiny detail as we go through the full thing is PAIN for me. I know I probably sound stupid to others to need that level of care but meh. Its not something I can help so oh well. And its NO ONES FAULT! I am not mad at them about it. I am not dunking on the people who've created and shared these things AT ALL. Again - I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL! THEY ARE FUCKING AMAZING! TRULY! It's just not the best FOR ME. I am struggling because of my own funky little processing center. My own special brand of fucking adhd bullshit. Which tbh is a whole thing in itself. I cried the first night I started trying to understand all of this because I realized just how hard it was going to be for me to make sense of any of it in a meaningful way. Got up from my desk after desperately trying to focus and understand for several hours and seeing the comments of "just follow this. just do this. just watch this first." that pointed to things that were equally as unhelpful to me and just crawled in bed feeling stupid and childish and defeated. If not for my husband's encouragement the next day when I was talking to him about my frustration, and his reminder that he's got some knowledge of what I'm doing and he'd always help me because he knows how my brain works, I never would have tried again I don't think. There may be what I'm looking for out there somewhere and I just haven't found it yet for sure. But man I've been looking. Anyway, I think because I love teaching, once I get it all figured out well enough that I'm comfortable sharing what I know, I might write up a guide in the language and style that I would have needed. I did something like it for my eye color presets that I plan on fleshing out more and sharing eventually. I've done it with plenty of other stuff in other games as well. It wouldn't be hard with the notes I take as I learn. Just take some time and lord knows I've got lots of that to spare. If it helps one other person who's like me and isn't a fan of everything mostly being video tutorials and prefers to be given every single step in order with lots of detail and explanation, then the time will be well spent.

YES YES actually I started working on a fanfic where they were all having a sleepover/had it in my drafts for MONTHS and I was super happy w it, but I really need to go back over it/redo it tbh and then, y’know, actually post it somewhere. But ohhh my goddd oh my god all of the normal friendgroup stuff they could be doing............. adorable...... Esp the friendship bracelets made by Logan and Taylor tho, that just has my HEART.

I’ll use a few of your things for some of the headcanons, too, hope that’s okay! ^^

This is probably gonna get Really long

Okay so on the friendship bracelet note. Not really something they do, but when Tay and Logan hand them out, Ashlyn’s not really. Sure how she feels about it at first. She fidgets with it constantly, and literally only takes it off when she’s about to shower (or if it’s going to hurt her while she stretches) or get in a pool or something. She ends up fidgeting with it when she’s uncertain or thinking something over; it helps keep her grounded and also lets her do something with her hands.

Aiden is actually. Really careful with his. Like, scarily careful. If he’s about to do something where he’s worried that it’ll get broken or lost, he’ll actively put it on a lanyard or necklace under his shirt, in his bag--he’ll just take a single second to make sure it’s tucked away nice and safe somewhere before absolutely going off with whatever he’s gonna do.

God so the roadtrips thing; I feel like if they could drive (I know that the original Aiden could drive, and I’m not sure about anyone else’s skills atm) and had a vehicle they were allowed to use consistently, and the circumstances were... Different (aka not near-death every night), Aiden would pester the hell out of everyone to go with him on a long out-of-state trip. He and Ben would cover all of the expenses, and they could all just. Drive. Aiden, to me, seems like the kind of person who would just want to go, no real destination, no real place to be, just... Go.

Tyler kinda gives me the vibe of a guy that would just really enjoy just laying on the hood/roof of a car and staring up at the sky. He’d just get a kind of a “it’s calm and quiet and I don’t have to worry about anything right now” feeling?

On the note of sleepovers, I feel like the best place for it would probably be Ashlyn’s. Not inherently because of the graveyard, but where she has the murphy bed--they could all just spread blankets, sleeping bags, and pillows out across the floor and it wouldn’t be an issue, Mike/Emma would be constantly making snacks (they were being overdramatic and joking about ~pressing a cup against her door at like 3am to hear what she/her friends were talking about~ as well as sleepovers anyway) and checking on them, they’d be able to vote on a movie...

I feel like Aiden would immediately throw down like six horror movie DVDs that he brought preemptively, and half the group (specifically Ben, Logan, and Tyler would all just stare like “why? why would you want to do this? literally in an hour we’re going to pass out and see actual monsters and you want to watch a 45min ghost movie? and then after you want to watch another one?” to which he just responds with, “lol, yeah? perfect timing”). Taylor is kind of on the fence on it--I feel like she’d kinda lean away from a lot of ~haunted~ stuff after coming face to face with phantoms, but she still wants to try because, c’mon, they’ve all seen worse? they’ve lived through worse. how bad can one little horror movie be?

(Pretty bad, she probably ends up freaking out and clinging to either Ashlyn or Ben/hiding her face in one of their arms/etc. like, 2/3rds of the way through it if they even make it that far; Ben Cannot stomach horror stuff to save his life)

Aiden’s generally snuggly and physically affectionate (with a very weak understanding of boundaries) with everyone around him anyway--he would probably also be taking turns leaning against everyone, flopping down across them, or just kicking his legs up across theirs if they were all just sprawled out on the bed.

Taylor? Thrives off of this. As soon as he bumps his shoulder against hers, she’s immediately pulling him into a hug. Logan’s also pretty okay with this (and actually welcomes it! he’s just a little embarrassed), but he’s a little more reserved and withheld about it.

Ashlyn’s a little hesitant about it at first--moreso than Logan--but gets a little more comfortable after a little bit of the physical contact. She actually likes sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Aiden on her own terms.

Not relevant to the sleepover bit, but 3am Walmart trips. Aiden’s idea, mostly everyone was ready to go along with it. Logan was a little hesitant at first, but after getting into a Walmart at 3am and seeing how quiet and peaceful/not crowded it was, he was like “oh. oh no, this is perfect, actually.”

Goofing off in the toy aisle, seeing the absolutely weird shit that goes on in Walmart at 3am, getting the Specific Sensory Experience of a late-night walmart?

My marauder era headcanons:

-In Severus' second year, corporal punishment was FINALLY abolished at Hogwarts after a long bureaucratic battle on Dumbledore's part. Unfortunately, some students back then payed their entire school supplies and luxuries by illegally selling stuff to cope with the pain to various first and second year kids (messed up), so they joined together to get it re-established, not that they cared for school discipline, but they wanted their money back. Severus Snape, Lily Evans and Avery teamed up this time to get rid of their report.

-Avery and Mulciber were in the same year as Snape. Avery was ambitious, cunning but fantastically clumsy while Mulciber was dark and brooding, but also responsable and less accident prone.

-Rodolphus had already left school but Bellatrix had to redo a few years due to mental health crisis.

-They were responsable for grooming Evans and Wilkes before leaving school.

-Evans and Wilkes was in fourth year when Snape started.

-Wilkes was a girl and Evans' girlfriend, also a half-breed, in Slytherin.

-Lucius Malfoy was born on the 5th of September 1954, making him the eldest student in sixth class.

-Macnair is Aries and Lucius' classmate. He didn't care for blood purity, instead having entirely other motivations to join the dark Lord cause.

-Lucius had a quota of groomed students to maintain since his fifth year at Hogwarts.

-Lucius was both prefect and captain, but quitted Quidditch when it became too stressful.

-Severus had to hide his friendship with Lily from his classmates.

-Arthur Weasley was in seventh year and was head boy during Sev's first year.

I love all of these headcanons (tho I disagree with some)! I consider the ninth one and and eleventh one canon.

This is probably gonna sound random, but I really love Arthur and Snape interactions in fics, I wish we got to see more of them together in canon. They’re pretty much complete opposites and it creates such a hilarious and loveable dynamic!

game log day 2 (3)

things i already had set up:

third person shooter system

the third person shooting is pretty janky and the camera bothers me So Much so i am probably going to redo this but i do, technically, have this in place. right now it's just hitscan because i don't anticipate putting any projectile weapons in for this pass. could be wrong though, we'll see how things proceed

it is not in any great way different from the ui in re2 remake, because that is the template i'm going with. i'm glad i decided to do this because pulling the individual parts from the file is very easy and i love not having to create new assets as i go

things i set up yesterday:

script to generate thumbnails for the inventory within unity

it works... fine? i have exactly three items so far and i'm definitely not using it optimally but also i don't care because i have exactly three items so far. its ok

things i am in the process of setting up:

rudimentary item examination system

inventory system

the inventory system is currently pretty bare bones: collide with an item and it gets put into your inventory. working on updating the inventory screen in real time just to make sure that functions as it should -- right now for some reason the item icons get a bit scrambled, but # of items are displayed and i did make it so that if an item isn't stackable it won't show a number. functionally, this is useless. but im preparing for the little differences in how things will eventually display. also, setting up items as scriptable objects is pretty cool.

the item examination is also very bare bones. you can zoom. you can move the item up and down, left and right. i haven't got the rotation in yet, because that was giving me trouble. i still need to actually link the inventory screen With the item examination screen + controls. everything is still pretty independent of each other.

video tutorials are great but also frustrating because an issue i run into quite often is that the person demonstrating the concepts will say and show one thing, which winds up having issues, and then fix it offscreen without mentioning what they did. so i wind up sitting there looking at errors that, to my knowledge, shouldn't be there, except they are, because op didn't clarify The Final Result is not actually what was depicted. SUCKS. its ok tho. we continue to press on

i am Very rusty with unity but i do feel that as i keep at it i'm settling back into the swing of things. which is nice. hopefully after a few days of consistent work i won't feel like i'm fighting with basic concepts i Used to know anymore, and instead will feel like i'm actually problem solving. hoping i can get the basic mechanics down relatively quickly so i can end up with something simple but fairly polished.

i don't have any grand ideas of making "a game" more than just a level that will have essential gameplay. i DO have an outline for an opening scenario based on some stuff i've been working on off and on for a few weeks (which i'm excited to share once i feel i have enough content to do so) so depending on how things wind up going it could feel more gamey than i'm scoping for? which would be nice. but i'm not gonna press my luck

There was so much cool shit in the PLL this morning. I kind of already screamed about it with my pals on discord, but I'll scream here too, because I took tons of screenshots for our FC discord.

I'm really curious to see what the new relic weapons look like. I'm happy they're at least finding a way to get more people to actually do the Hildibrand content. There's so much fun stuff hidden in there, including one of my all time favorite trials (Kugane Ohashi)!

I know a couple of us were speculating that tho Omicrons were probably gonna be a tribal quest hub. There was NO WAY they'd leave that little cafe area alone. I'm really kind of interested to see what it ends up looking like in the end.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about savage being pushed back a week. On the one hand, it gives us time to get some gear from normal and kind of look into mechanics a little bit. On the other, it will make getting gear in normal a little tougher if EVERYONE is prioritizing certain things.

I probably won't do unreal in 6.2 lmao. I hate Sephirot EX as it is, I cannot imagine how awful it will be in party finder and I know half of our usual crew already said they're not doing Sephi. I have the gil to just buy whatever new mount they come up with, so I don't really care either way lmao.

NGL, I still haven't done ARR duty support stuff, but just the fact that Ysayle, Alphinaud, and Estinien are your support for the Aery is pretty neat.

Steps of Faith being made into a solo instance is everything I could ask for. Actually, it's exactly what I asked for in voice the other day when we got this in roulette lmao. And Thornmarch being revamped will be nice. I do hope they don't change the EX because I really do like it, but I'll be glad to not have to deal with normal moogles in trial roulette.

Variant dungeons sound cool. I like that you have to replay it multiple times to get the full story. But what I'm REALLY interested in are the savage Another Dungeons. Me and my friend have been waiting on like, harder dungeon content, so this feels like it'll be a ton of fun.

Everything about Island Sanctuary sounds amazing. I'm kind of sad we didn't get any footage of it, but Yoshida said there were bugs still when he was testing it out, so I understand why we didn't get to see anything. Will probably spend all my free time AFK there instead of at the FC house lmao.

This update to portraits is gonna be so good. I've been so irritated every time I swap jobs and glam that my Instant Portrait breaks >:[ Having one linked to a gearset is a great idea. Also! Instant Portraits during mahjong!

Being able to request repairs in duties will be so good. I can't tell you how many times we've had to back out of a duty because someone's gear broke during prog. It was ESPECIALLY bad whenever we'd reach the door boss and couldn't continue progging, but backing out also meant having to redo the first phase.

Doubling the glam dresser will be nice. I'm still not at 400, but I'm getting there, so having it pushed to 800 will be a relief lmao.

IDK I'm pretty excited about all of this and kind of wish it were the end of August already u_u Though it being almost two months away for the new savage tier means we might actually finish UWU before then lmao.

Ok, So I've decided to be a lil more liberal with when I post the updated ACAR pages since I’m gonna be doing them at the blisteringly fast rate of “whenever I particularly feel like it.” It shouldn’t be too much of an issue with flooding this account with samey pictures. I still probably won’t be posting all of them since there are several models I know for a fact won’t be changed much beyond updating the line art, so it’ll mostly be limited to the ones where the design is fundamentally different and or the lore information is significantly changed.

In retrospect, I do kinda wish I had just put the range finder on top of the hand guard instead of the side. It’d make more ergonomic sense and probably just look better overall, tho then you wouldn’t be able to see the details of it...something to keep in mind in future I guess.

Change Log:

Leaf Sight replaced with a dedicated variable zoom scope. While there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the original Idea of aligning the leaf sight with the tip of the grenade, I’m pretty sure the actual placement of the sight was too close to the muzzle and therefore wouldn’t really be capable of being aligned with anything. The carry handle would also probably be too in the way for shoulder firing it. A variable optic with an adjustable pitch also seemed like the most reasonable solution for a dedicated grenadiers rifle. (For real world examples of this, see Hungary’s AMP-69 and Zas from GFLs optic set ups.)

Though unintentional, the stock is more FAL like than the original arts, this is more in line with my original design concept.

The range finders display was swapped too a VFD instead of a digital one because it fits more with my idea of the Imper now/VFDs are cooler.

Weight was increased from the original 8 pounds to 10. The original design of this rifle was meant to be lighter than the standard ACAR because the stock was lighter than the more complicated adjustable version. The stock is still theoretically lighter, but these weight savings are muted by the fact that the Grenadiers optic would be far heavier than the standard model.

The grenades were excluded from the art this time as they were laughably small in the original and didn’t really add much.

time for my disaster oc Icarus! he's part of an oc story of mine called Melteded Wings. i'm redoing the story so i figured i'd give him a slight redesign to go along with that. i'll probably redo some other Melted Wings ocs too.

since i'm still working on my redo of the story, have a summary of him that's a bit of a miss match of the old and new story under the cut.

it's long, so if you don't feel like reading it, have a meme my friend sent me after i yelled about Icarus being a poor little meow meow. i redrew it with him lol

he was originally this nature spirit thing (first design), who lived on his own in the woods. his life force/energy thing is attached to a willow tree. he had powers to manipulate plants around him, tho the power gets weaker the farther from his tree his is. (side note, if the tree gets hurt, he gets hurt. also those are willow branches around his neck and ankle)

later he met another cat called Maxwell. Maxwell lived out in the woods with him for a bit, but got lonely and missed living in a guild (they're technically castle cats ocs lmao).

anyway, Icarus goes lives in a guild with Maxwell for a bit, they end up breaking up, and Maxwell get's with someone else. Icarus goes back to his tree and angsts. my boy is super emotional and takes rejection hard. while he's out crying in the forest or whatever, the storm god, Neptune comes upon him and is like "uh hi, you good my dude??"

they end up becoming friends. Icarus is still a mess tho lmao. Icarus finds out about an attack that's gonna happen on Maxwell's guild, so goes back to warn him. Icarus also stays to help fight with them. Neptune stays behind to watch his tree.

during the fight Icarus gets his wing ripped off by a wolf (ik it's weird hjkjhjk). Neptune see's Icarus' tree is all fucked up now, so he teleports to the battle, snatches up Icarus, and teleports back. r.i.p all those other cats ig.

Neptune heals up Icarus' wound, and helps him recover. later either both of them, or just Neptune (haven't decided yet), Kill Neptune's shitty ex Zack, the sun god. Icarus is made sun god after that. he gets that gold floaty wing in place of his old one. it's more for show than flight though.

him and Neptune get together some time after that. they vibe until more drama ensues

i'm skipping a lot of stuff, but it's chill. i'll probably talk more about him later. i've had this angsty man like 3 years now and i love him v much

This is my Inquisitor (so overjoyed you can be a qunari), her name is the default Herah and I decided I’m going to approach this game by staying true to a character and not looking to do everything and be on everyone’s good side u_u

I want to make a good background for her so i’m not telling anything. Yet. I’ll just say she’s a qunari mercenary and prefers using two-handed weapons.

Highlights from today:

Studying history does pay off! This was a reference to the famous book in environmental history - Guns, Germs and Steel by Jared Diamond. So proud i recognised it x)

Also i don’t have a good shot of solas but he cracks me up so much.. The guy has a posture of the typical retired grandpa (the only thing missing is to have him walk with his hands on his back). And there’s a scene where the party sees the rift and there’s the inquisitor facing it, cassandra bracing herself and solas... just standing like an old man

On a side note, Cassandra is so gorgeous and good and i already love her, i just keep taking shots of her TAT

As for varric, it’s so different than from da2, this is so much more “official” and you can see he’s the same as ever, but you’re not hawke, hawke’s not here, the gang’s not here and there’s nothing casual about the whole situation T-T

And lastly, my inquisitor has a horse now, i didn’t know that was possible in the game ;__;

Let me start with.... The advisors! (+ cassandra... or is she also an advisor too?)

What a bunch. I love Cassandra’s and Leliana’s faith having a crisis bc they believe that Inquisitor is the Herald of Andraste and the way they deal with it. It’s really interesting. Leliana is completely opposite than what she was in origins and i’m surprised it doesn’t bother me at all! I love seeing this whole darker side that was only hinted at in origins, though it’s also sad when i think how she used to be. I wonder how she’s gonna overcome her doubting of faith.

Josephine is a delight. I keep using her for almost every war table mission for now. She radiates capability. She reminds me of those bureaucrats that are super nice and helpful and chill and even if you’re doing everything wrong she’ll just smile and say “it’s ok, we can fix it” and then goes and fixes everything herself (and you feel this insane amount of gratitude you send a whole separate email to thank her for her patience and help )

As for Cullen... It’s interesting... I got impression from what i saw in the fandom that he’s supposed to have had his allegiance changed and him rejecting the templars should have been him ultimately siding with the mages (or at least being anti-templar(?)), and that turning point that could have been a great way to show his character development during the game. Which i agree, only... i did not get that impression from the game so far at all. I mean, so far everything that i can remember him saying is totally smth he’d say in da2... He didn’t leave kirkwall bc of his disappointment with the templar order, he doesn’t seem to have any issues with the templars except those who go full war mode instead of trying to balance the situation. And it’s a really chaotic situtation, i love how they did it.

This line was amazing, i wish there was a special cutscene for that.

I’m loving the way they made this huge religious organisation in crisis have a complete collapse with the death of a key figure. I love the concept of inquisition and problems that it poses. I love you can see everyone’s reasoning and doubts reflect their background, but also see why inquisition can be understood as another power-grasping organisation trying to topple the templars, the mages and the chantry. Everything is divided. We got templars leaving the chantry, seekers leaving the chantry(?), rebel mages, loyal mages, rebel mages gone rouge, templars gone rouge, and suddenly there’s another organisation forming that you can totally believe is just another powerhungry force trying to get the piece of the cake by taking advantage of the power vacuum left by the sudden lack of the religious authority. (and only we know we’re The Good Guys). I love that we have characters who need to believe in the greater plan, characters who question the greater plan, and characters who want to utilise the power of belief and characters who don’t care for divine plans. The chaos is real and it feels real. I love that the centre figure of the whole holy business is a heretic of another culture. For the chantry this is the lose-lose situation (unless the inquisitor becomes religious by the end of the game). Which is why this line works so well.

Ok, now shorter updates:

Red Jenny! I know it’s not her actual name but it is in my head. Where’s that box i delivered ages ago >_> Anyways, she makes my brain work on 150% capacity. I can understand what she means only after i go over it for 5 times.

Forgive me but oh my god, i can’t believe that i can recognise one voice actor and now i have another mental image whenever he speaks. Like, he’s really good at bringing out a new character, but when he gets more casual he sounds like kanan jarrus from star wars rebels and i’m just “what are you doing here, space dad” ;__; Hopefully it’ll get old and i’ll be enjoying more iron bull. he seems nice...

Vivienne on the other hand is like a reverse Josephine(?) She seems insanely capable but hates customer service, however somehow she likes you very much and will do everything you need for reasons you can’t fathom. Have a screenshot. So classy. I already feel humbled.

and lastly, BREAKING NEWS: aveline finally hired carver ;__;

Tbh Kirkwall is still a mystery and i have so many questions but i don’t think i’ll get any answers... If a powervacuum of the divine cause this much chaos, how’s kirkwall faring without a new viscount? Like, yeah, aveline can keep in check, but umm it’s in a very vulnerable state which makes it a good target for any invasion... didn’t sebastian promise bloodshed?

so, i have been to the mages and to the templars and... i sided with the templars.... First i was all for mages since they offered negotiations while the seeker just walked away, but then it turned out that was a trap, there’s also tevinter mages there (which is a red flag for my inquisitor) and then there’s some time magic involved (which is a big no for me), and i just walked out. Felt bad for the mages but my inquisitor comes from a culture where mages have their tongues cut so...

Also this guy deserves a medal for putting up with corrupted superiors and annoying nobles.

And i met cole ;__; Where are Rhys and Evangeline ;___;

the templar mission was ok i guess... I was surprised that red lyrium was apparently circulating around for some time, not sure if that means since meredith or even before. I love the stories of corruption tho and to imagine what it’s like to be trapped in this organisation that just keeps breaking everything it stands for

As for the important mages, i’ve Dorian twice since i bailed out on him in Redcliffe :I I love the guy, he seems arrogant yet so kind (like, no one would have carried that annoying priest and yet he did, after he ran from his own people to warn us after i ditched him in Redcliffe? man ;A;) Every time i go with “ok the inquisitor fears tevinter and distrusts this rando who just popped in” i am marinating in guilt.

and then we fight some mages and die several times but we succeed and we meet the bad guy...

Is it an unpopular opinion to say that i like him as a villain so far? i saw so many jokes on his incompetency. Idk, i like that part where he said that he reached the fade in someone’s name, it makes me think he’s not just power-hungry person(?) who’s just evil,but was originally serving someone, and he said that the gods were either gone or corrupted and he spent hundreds of years thinking what to do with whatever happened so he seems like he knows what he’s doing and maybe(!just maybe) he is trying to fix things that are wrong but we can’t see that? And of course he hates the inquisitor, he has to redo his stuff all over again, i’d hate the inquisitor too. im probably looking too much into it. My wish is that, if he’s evil, he became so gradually, but originally had good intentions? Or there’s more to things going on that we just don’t know and he does... Maybe this was his tragic attempt to fix things but he would ultimately fail and be branded as a villain etc etc. I’m getting carried away

If it turns out he’s just evil for the sake of being evil then feel free to tell me so now so i don’t embarrass myself further with plotting myself lol.

A side note, is he the Architect? Or the same? In DA2 he says he’s a tevinter magister, right? and he ceased to be a human. Also in DA2 it seemed like he was the boss, and here he said he reached in the name of someone (probably more important than him). But what is the Architect then?

And with that we reach the skyhold.

I didn’t know you meet hawke so soon ;__; i thought that was like, somewere more to the end of the game, since the big decision and all. But the mission is already opened and i am going to procrastinate on it until i finish every side mission :<

Also he is so sad ;__; i understand, but at the same time... all that humour now bitter sarcasm :’(

(also, very shallow remark, but i really really prefer his looks in da2 than here... it’s like they softened him. He’s more...oh god idk bearish(???) than hawkish(????) you know what i mean? the nose isn’t as sharp anymore, the beard is... what is it with the beard... anyways i get the game has its limits so it’s fine. it’s fine! fine.)

then there was the fight that i remember since twitter >:D

It’s what made me want to play dragon age and i finally reached it T-T so good! I love how you can see the both sides and everything they say is true but they’re so angry at themselves they’re taking it out on each other TAT

Cassandra later says Hawke probably wouldn’t have joined the inquisition even if she found him, and i wonder now if that’s true... At first i thought, nah, Hawke has too much of a hero complex, he would feel too responsible to just say no. Besides, he’s with the inquisition now (tho i can’t find him anywhere anymore!). But at the same time, the way da2 ends was such an iconic walking away from everything, and not taking into account the hocus-pocus rift stuff, i can imagine him refusing, especially seeing how bitter he is now. It’s also a question of how much would have cassandra told him i guess. idk, what do you think? Would he lead or nah?

another person i want to find but can’t in skyhold are the templars with ser barris. i can use them on war table missions but otherwise they’re non-existant? i forgot to talk to him back in haven but now i wonder if it was even possible and if he was even available there, since he isn’t here. I spent hours just running around skyhold looking for the guy :(

and then everything becomes unimportant bc aaaaa!! she! is the arcanist! Dagna! im so happy and proud(?) she went and reached her goals x)

some random updates:

so i did the halamshiral and gave up to my “stick to the character” mode, and nothing went my way, but that’s life. Met morrigan! i almost forgot she appears lol. And, despite also jumping on the wagon of give-morrigan-better-clothes train, i have to admit seeing her in her old clothes was a relief after that dress at the ball. It’s not the way the dressed looked, but the way she moved in it... god im shallow

i also initially didn’t like morrigan being at orlais court of all places, but after the conversation that’s supposed to explain why she’s there i’m kinda ok with it. I mean, i still need some more info. Wouldn’t Tevinter be better? she’d practically become a magister overnight if she got this good in the game so fast. It’s also unconvincing how everyone knows everything in orlais but somehow nobody connected that the random kid that has no bakcground whatsoever with morrigan who keeps checking on him? But at skyhold she’s just “hey i have a kid, he’s no trouble, right?” but hey, it’s morrigan. She can do anything. I’ll just have another story idea in my head.

Then there was news of the new divine that could be either cassandra or leliana and i don’t honestly know whom to choose. I’d prefer leliana over cassandra simply bc cassandra is more of a military mind, while the position of the divine would be more political. But lately every mission with leliana was spy spy, kill kill... Do we really want that for a religious leader? On the other hand, it would nicely round up her story from origins to inquisition... But cassandra is more of a public figure than leliana is...

when cassandra said:

“I want to respect the tradition, but not fear change. I want to right the past wrongs, but not avenge them. And I have no idea if wanting any of them makes them right.”

great moment. She’s usually so convinced and rash, i forget she’s more doubtful and open minded than what she looks like. Everything about cassandra is different from the impression she gives ;__; I love her so so so so much. (when she says she considers the inquisitor her friend i melted, next time varric pulls up the “seeker has no friends” joke, my heart will no longer be breaking).

I did a bunch of personal missions. Some were cool, some were ????. Also there were war table missions with zevran, that was cool. Also i love the codex entries in skyhold. The archery competition with varric banned? Dancing lessons failing bc lace harding is on the move all the time? Perfect.

And i met chargers, i like them, and aaah that staff-bow from the trailer is such a cool idea ;A;

What i don’t get with bull’s chargers is - they’re a mercenary group right? But isn’t swordselling seen as the complete misunderstanding of the qun? I get only bull is qunari, but he’s the leader of them? How is that not frowned upon?

And lastly, i don’t think i’ve said this, but i love that they added codex entries in the loading screens. love it.

After months of procrastination, i have faced my fears and have met alistair. it was very anticlimatic beating 11 level monsters when i was level 21...

but.. ALISTAIR TAT He’s changed... but not changed... but changed! Like, his personality is the same, but he’s more serious, doesn’t run from responsibilities, isn’t as bitter as hawke (also, why do i get impression that i am supposed to get the impression that they’re friends? they’ve met like, once, and talked for less than a minute.. whatevs. let’s pretend they’ve met again when on the run), i really love the inquisition alistair ;;__;;

Also, i managed to get that awkward demon baby family reunion :D

know that morrigan says the vaguest generic thing “i told him his father was a good man” bc of various world states, but i also think she’s come a long way not to mock alistair, and then when he notices that she didn’t use the opportunity he mentions that the kid changed her and she’s like “pfft, yea right, you wish”....

... when she was the one who said that in the first place ;;__;;

Awwww :> I love that they bicker but softly. Kids have grown up :’) Anyways, when will alistair start paying alimony

The only weird one is Leliana bc when morrigan was introduced she was like “danger danger” (smth i’d sooner think alistair would do), and when alistair is (supposedly) in skyhold, Leli doesn’t even mention him, only hawke. bruh, what were they to you, you almost died together ;;__;;

oh i also slayed a dragon. I didn’t even want to fight that dragon. It was a hillarious feat of inquisitor, solas, cole and blackwall, all on level 21, having to chug all the health potions right at the beginning while fighting a dragon that was... level 13, after which i just let go of controls and suddenly everyone was hella good at fighting and slayed it (only cole needed revival several times).

And, befitting the wild-dream feel that it had, when i got back to skyhold and visited companions, suddenly i was drinking pelin with iron bull, and he’s reminiscing on that fight with the dragon and i’m like

it was awful and you weren’t even there.

i forgot to update

but last time i was playing i finished the hawke/alistair sacrifice and all the torture i went through with deciding whom to sacrifice vanished bc frankly, at one moment, i wanted to sacrifice both of them, but in the end it was much more easier to sacrifice hawke bc inquisition hawke just didn’t feel like hawke to me, while alistair improved since the origins!

and now i remembered why i didn’t update, in the same day cassandra rejected me so i was sad and didn’t continue playing since then (i think last time i played it was around easter?)

BLACKWALL!! or should i say Thom Rainier? Wow, what an arc! It was also so fun bc i was all strict mode, picking the third option, telling him his life is in inquisitor’s hands and all that, but in the end i set him free. He’s so good, a true knight T-T

Also i romanced sera. we’ll see how that goes.

Also, fave point in the game so far, i wanted, for so long, to sit at that val roeayoux (can’t spell) cafe and finally did it with cole’s personal mission. THANK YOU COLE YOU TRULY CAN READ PEOPLE’S MINDS.

another interesting thing was that after specialising as a reaver, cassandra said that drinking dragon blood makes you grow scales and become mad. Iron Bull said that inquisitor smells better bc dragon blood and that qunari generally smell better than humans. So i’m guessing qunari have fractions of dragon in them? ok...

and now i started that mission with morrigan and the puzzles are killing me lol, i am this 👌 close to just go chase calpernia and give up on a well of sorrows.
