This needs to change. Factives, no matter their source, should be treated with basic respect. Yes, this includes factives of abusers, criminals, political figures and any other source that made you go "but what about-".

Someones source could literally be H*tler, and I would still show them basic respect.

Okay! We aren’t sure if you want for others, or for yourself! So here’s both:

Things that may be helpful is changing your name, Especially if your name is very specifically tied to that piece of media, this name can be totally different, or the same/similar meaning. Whatever you’d want.

Depending on how your system works, you may be able to somewhat alter your appearance internally

Making it clear you do not want to discuss source, or anything relating to it, This can be done with bios, or names, or even just telling people. If people cannot respect that, then they aren’t worth your time.

That being said, if you want to discuss and interact with source, you just don’t want to be seen as source, once again make that clear, anyone worth speaking to will listen.

some days I'm genuinely scared to chat with friends of ours from fear of judgement (especially if we are using PK, sometimes i'll turn it off to talk to friends though and that gelps with anxiety a little but i still like to use it when im not feeling self conscious), especially when certain alters are fronting and usually that's because of their source.

None of them are factives of serial killer or what not but some are just.. introjects of characters who were absolutely awful... and it's just a little hard trying to interact with people who know you as that instead of someone new and different.

I, personally, still view myself as the same guy just a version who tool the time to better himself and that's even what I remember from my memories is me trying to be a better guy. I still kinda am, still am an ass n have my issues, and I'll joke about bein one of the worst characters of my source but

some days it just hits harder than others and it isn't as funny of a joke.

I guess what this vent of sorts boils down to is to not treat introjects of bad characters (or people really, factives included) exactly as you would treat their source selves. Especially if we don't like how we behaved in source and don't want to be like that anymore.

Your alters do not exist so you can use them to engage in deep discord roleplay, your mind developed these people to help you work through something. That alter is an individual with a reason to exist and you think its so unique to lock them the fuck up because they might get you kicked out of the 300 rule "safe space" discord server with a blacklist longer than my hospital receipts?

And. Locking up an alter because they dint get social cues and don't know what's appropriate to say? How is tht not ableism? Fucking work with them and help the to understand

I don't care how fucked up the are. I don't care if theyre William Afton, I don't care if they're the spitting fucking image of Hitler. That is why you work with them. I hate feeling the need to protect others from my source. Feeling like showing my face around others will put them in danger. Our source is one that caused significant issues for all of us+- it worsened our+ experience with other traumatic events and even caused a few of them past just witnessing source media as a child (which for us+ was genuinely traumatic on some occasions). I have this invasive feeling that being myself around others could cause them to experience the same kind of lifelong negative impact that our source did for us+.

Obviously, in most cases, that’s not true. Our+ friends are all bodily adults, for one. For two, I trust them to actually listen to me when I give them the huge list of trigger warnings. But, that doesn’t stop me from hiding as much as possible. Concealing my existence in miles of red tape and warning signs is exhausting. - 🔥

Hello, I am Till. I am an alter in a CDD system. I am 17 years old and I prefer he/him pronouns. My url is a joke about how I am seen as "scary" and "problematic", because of my source and system role.

I am an apathy holder. In my case, this means that I have low empathy and feel emotions alot less intensely. This does not mean that I am ok with inflicting harm upon others.

I am a factive with a problematic source. I won't share my source for safety reasons.
