The blue strapping on the upper arm band is going to be the same idea as the wrist, it’ll connected to a similar quick-adjust thingy; the chest strap is somewhat temporary, the two wing bones will connect across the back with a removable strap that can be swapped out for something more aesthetic, strung inside/underneath a shirt, or each bone can be tied directly to the armpit area of something that’s already being worn for maximum stealth (I’ve tied my current ones to a sports bra before)
The idea is that, as a base, the wings can basically be shrugged into like a jacket and then the only thing that needs adjusting is the two straps which (because they’re already affixed) just need to be pulled tight. Even though this is objectively a large costume piece it should be pretty easy to move in: based on my original prototype, it should be possible to put on, take off, do up shoes, get through doorways, manipulate objects, and even (very carefully) get in and out of a vehicle without assistance.
was feeding my pets in mhw and i was wondering why the pteryxes werent eating the food but then i realized i wasnt feeding them i was feeding the ANTS the ANTS i PUT IT MY ROOM i was like why are they over here theyre supposed to be over th. oh
Okay, so, let's say that theoretically someone brought home some shed Nergigante spines from the Elder's Recess to research, and let's say that one of those spines was actually a reproductive spine and the researcher was unaware of this, and it grew into a Nergigante whelp in the middle of the night which is now hassling their pet Woodland Pteryxes and they're pretty sure that it got bigger since half an hour ago. What should that hypothetical person do in that situation?
[sigh]
Fill out the application form and bring it here, we'll do what we can and if it requires external care we'll provide it.
Nergigante whelps are different from most - in that they're pretty much independant from birth. It's one of the most terrifying things about them.
Also - for everyones' sake, do not let it eat any wyvern gems.
Her name is Elizabeth Bloodford Bellford, and is a surgeon/hunter working with the research commission. Her perferred weapon is either the hunting horn, or sword and shield. She has a forest pteryx named Twig as a pet.
She goes by Elizabeth or Dr.Bellford. Feel free to send her asks too!))
Vaporonids are large arachnids that live in forested and arid regions of the new world. They are closely related to the temnoceran monster nerscylla and as such share many anatomical similarities such as venom glands for incapacitating prey and silk producing organs connected to four spinneretts on the thorax. The animals weave this silk (which is strong enough to snare humans) into magnificent webs used for catching prey like omenflies, gekkos, pteryx', shepherd hares and even birds like Blissbills. Once snared the animal is wrapped in a silk cocoon before its injected with a mixture of paralyzing venom and digestive enzymes that reduce its innards into a soupy mixture that the spider can process easily. The bright coloration of the vaporonid serves to warn larger animals to not eat it, as its venomous bite is painful to even the largest monster. The research commission has conducted extensive research into farming these arthropods for their silk which can be made into both fine clothing and unimaginably strong bindings, this is encouraged by the fact that as long as the spider is well fed they can produce up too 200 feet of silk thread every day. Despite their venomous bite and testy disposition some hunters have kept this large arachnid as a pet, letting it construct its web in the rafters of their quarters where it provides an efficient pest control, they state that while venomous the bite causes little more than mild nausea in humans and with time the spider grows to trust them, becoming docile enough to hold. Hey guys I'm trying something a little different this time since high quality images of most pets in MHW are nonexistent I'm going to be using images of their real life analogs. Also in celebration of me reaching 1,000 followers I'll be hosting another private session on MHW tomorrow night around 10 pm EST so if that interests you go ahead and add me on PSN at CyberSaurus0829, see you soon!

@a-dinosaur-a-day In Monster Hunter: World, you can collect wild animals to have in your house as pets and one of them is this adorable, feathery, pseudo-dinosaur friend they're calling a Woodland Pteryx. In the wild they climb up trees and glide off of them repeatedly, it's really cute!
My search for a Woodland Pteryx was successful. So successful that I got to keep it as a pet. #monsterhunter #monsterhunterworld #monster #hunter #xboxone #woodlandpterxy #gamer #gamerforlife
