useful system apps

hi ! we're an anonymous system, feel free to call us anon !!! we are making a list of apps* we find useful for system things !!! feel free to add any other things :)

our app suggestions

simply plural: useful for keeping track of alters and fronting. there's a chat function as well, though we don't use it anymore because of the way it formats messages. it is useful for reminders and tasks though! plus, insys communication if you aren't bothered by the formatting. (mobile and desktop free, but desktop is a little iffy.)

fortelling: an app for writers keeping track of their characters, stories, plotlines. however, we tested out how it would work for keeping track of alters and communication/journaling, and it worked pretty well! there are group options like simply plural, but formatted very differently. good for keeping discreet. (mobile is free, desktop is availble but payment needed)

firefox multiacc extension: we just started using this, and it's really helpful!!! we are able to have multiple accounts and tabs open, all organized by system! this, paired with protonmail, is really good for having seperate accounts if that's what your system wants. (desktop available, havent checked mobile)

feedbro: its a simpler, slightly lacking version of the usefulness of firefox multiacc ex.. we used it for a while for certain interests and added tumblr accs on it, and it wasnt the best, but it did work then! (desktop available, no mobile).

twinote: fake twitter. good for sys communication, plus it's just fun! (mobile availble, no desktop?) other fake social media apps work, too, though instagram ones are pretty annoying bc they need images

ifake: fake messages! good for sys communication, plus, again, fun! only thing is that you need to watch ads to make chats :( but the chats are good! many formatting options. (mobile available, no desktop)

notion: good for sys communication/journaling! we use one, and it's really helpful. we have a journal, task list (with reminders), alter list, interest list, plus more (feel free to ask abt it! can show ppl how it looks) unlimited amount of pages and elements as long as you only have one account per workspace! (mobile and desktop available, desktop preferred.) some alternatives are coda (limiting), evernote (limiting, formatting), and onenote (formatting).

pluralkit: bot for systems. we only use this on our phone as we have our own seperate discords on our computer (re: use multiacc firefox ex. <3) but it's helpful! plus, you can change your avatar per server (mobile and desktop available.) alternatives include tupperbox (formatting + old).

youtube music: pair this with firefox adblocker and i swear its so good. its just youtube but focused on music. cant change the playlist pictures, but lost of playlists available! plus less, shorter ads (if u dont use firefox adblocker for some reason). (mobile and desktop available, desktop preferred.)

other suggestions

keep a digital journal/diary! physical is good, too, but we personally find it easier to access digitally, plus less chance of people accidentally finding it.

use firefox. not too system related apart from the multiacc thing but firefox is great

some things we do

we have "certain alter [piece of clothing/thing/accessory]" that helps us determine whos fronting sometimes :)

try to keep track of what happens in life! its helped us integrate to be a little less confused with life

dont feel bad if you dont use any of these! its your system, your choice, you choose how to navigate everything <3

A PSA!

Roleplaying with AI bots is silly at first but its a regurgitating machine that steals ideas, it can steal your ideas too if you're too open to it

if you want to roleplay, use PluralKit or Tupperbox on discord

so you're the one choosing the character dialogue, not the machine.

While reinterpreting characters to be different from canon can be fun,

At times if it gets too projectively OOC (to where the character is basically a different character altogether)

that can be offputting to others and you're better off re-working it into a separate new oc

It can be really tempting to ignore your mental health issues by talking with the AI bots but when you do that to an obsessive extent, the dynamic becomes co-dependent, if you find yourself interacting more with a BOT than your friends, then log off and seek help

Unfortunately if you have issues like BPD, Bipolar, PMDD, Schizophrenia, or have issues offline (whether that be due to home life or lack of friends/social circle)

you can be more susceptible to developing psychosis

or having a psychotic episode

these can drastically effect how you view reality

Autism can be another factor, as we tend to get very attached to our special interests and hyperfixations but we all need to step back sometimes our interests are not above criticism

not everyone will like the same things

don't let the fixation turn into an unhealthy addiction

From March to early June, I got addicted to that character AI site, it got to the point where the sam bots I was making were completely different from his character I was ignoring friends and my symptoms, until after talking it over, I started recovery.

PAWPRINTS DOWN THE PATH is a casual WCRP set on the Florida Gulf Coast. It acts at the companion RP to Clans of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are three guilds to choose from:

SHIMMERING OATH, the strong and prideful. They live deep within a marsh. They are paladin-esque, for the most part.

ROGUES OF THE HOPEFUL, the clever and resourceful. A newly re-founded guild of cats who banded together in the shadow of what once was, connected by their hopes for the future. They live among massive sand dunes.

DIVISION OF THE STARS, the pious and creative. Due to living right along the ocean, this guild has taught themselves to create small boats and rafts, sailing out to do their fishing.

High ranks are first come, first serve. We will be using Tupperbox in order to roleplay, though its use is not required if you are uncomfortable with proxy bots. You may make as many characters as you want, so long as you can maintain their stories and arcs. Roleplays are scheduled loosely by the members of the server.

Guide on how to use Fletcher for Proxying messages.

Fletcher is a Discord bot with a lot of miscellaneous utilities. If all you want is proxying features, I recommend you instead go with Pluralkit or Tupperbox, as they're primarily built for this use case. If you already have Fletcher around and want proxying, read on.

Sometimes Fletcher doesn't proxy messages for no apparent reason? Dropped events or something. IDK, that's beyond me to debug. Just know that it's not nearly as reliable as Pluralkit or Tupperbox.

The condensed Fletcher Proxying docs, where I got most of the initial info for this post, are found here.

I wrote this to explain how to proxy messages to someone on Discord, but it wouldn't fit in a single message there, so I moved it here and started expanding a bit.

(Tumblr doesn't really have inline code formatting as far as I can tell so for bits that are supposed to represent that I made them small and green.)

Prefix

First you start with a prefix you want to use for a proxy[0]:

!preference tupper [Prefix]

For example, my prefix is L:, so for me to set this up I would use:

!preference tupper L:

A prefix can… probably(?) be any non-space set of characters[1]. You could do something like:

!preference tupper abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

And then later after all the configuration was done[2] you can go:

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz this is a message being sent

…And Fletcher will delete and re-send under that proxy. (Of course, you would probably want to choose something easier to type out in regular usage. The Prefix can be anything, as long as you keep it consistent between the commands.)

Nickname

Next you choose a nickname for the proxy you want to send:

!preference tupper-nick-[Prefix] [Nickname]

For example, my nickname with Fletcher is Lucid | Lunae, so for me to set this up I would use:

!preference tupper-nick-L: Lucid | Lunae

Say I wanted to use that full-alphabet I mentioned in the #Prefix section above, and call that proxy Alphabet. I would do this:

!preference tupper-nick-abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz Alphabet

Avatar

Next find a link to an image you want to use as your avatar.[1][3][4] The command to set a specific image to your proxy's avatar is this:

!preference tupper-avatar-[Prefix] [https://linktoimage/]

For Alphabet I might want to use this image:

Deletion

To delete a[5] specific !preference, run the command but with the optional parameter to instead be null. (This applies to almost all Fletcher preferences, not just proxy-related ones.)

For example:

Nickname !preference tupper-nick-[Prefix] null e.g. !preference tupper-nick-abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz null

Avatar !preference tupper-avatar-[Prefix] null e.g. !preference tupper-avatar-abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz null

Usage

To actually use a proxy once you've got a Prefix, Avatar, and Nickname set up, first you wait.[1][2] After the requisite period of Waiting, proxy usage is [Prefix][Text] in any message. If there is text before your Prefix, Fletcher won't proxy it. Using my Prefix L: as an example:

L:This is a test. This will be proxied, with the output: This is a test.

LL:Test. This won't be proxied: There is an extra L before the prefix.

L:L:Test. This will be proxied, with the output: L:Test.

:Test. This won't be proxied: The full prefix isn't included.

[0] Fletcher refers to proxies as "tuppers" for historical(?) reasons. [1] This isn't well-specified. [2] Definitely don't forget the waiting step. You have to wait some un-specified amount of time for these changes to actually work. [3] I'm pretty sure it has to be something hosted accessibly to Fletcher always? I think if the image at the link changes, your avatar will also change. [4] I don't think you can directly upload an image for Fletcher to use. You can upload an image to discord then use that discord image link, but I recommend against this as discord is taking steps to combat this in the near future. [5] It looks like you can't delete a Prefix. If you ever make a prefix you don't want, that sucks.

now in the next space you are going to go to the internet. tumblr, twitter, pinterest, google idc, wherever you want to go and find an icon you like. copy that thangs url. 

dang that looks awesome. alright, now we’re going to set the trigger text that summons the magnificent bot to your server of choice. loooooookin goodddddd. 

now. you can also set their birthday, add some notes, create groups, y’all can figure that out on your own but your next step from here is to hit the green button of amazement. you’ve now created your tupper. there is no copying and pasting text. no erasing and re-typing quotation marks. no trying to remember commands. 

now go to discord. type that trigger command and then your text, like usual. 

if everything is correct, you will now be spicing up the server! oh yeahhhhh! now. the only command i still use is tul!auto “Ｋｕｚｃｏ” #CHANNELNAME and that will set everything to automatically post any text, gifs or images that you add to that channel with the tupper of your choice. i hope this was helpful friends!

🌟 — heyy, i (21f) am looking to write anakin skywalker from the star wars prequel trilogy (although i won’t be writing him pre-episode ii/attack of the clones) and the clone wars series against either a canon or original character on discord (with the use of tupperbox), and would greatly appreciate a padmé amidala to write against in particular. must be 18+ for my own personal comfort. plot details and themes can be discussed after direct contact is made, but i’m open to pretty much anything—like aus, something more based in canon, etc. potential dead dove themes can also be discussed. smut is also entirely optional and can be skipped over, so just let me know what you’re comfortable with!
